Okay. Is it delusional of me to try to signal to this guy in my class that I like him… through my choice of earrings
#okay hear me out. it’s an online class#so it’s not as if i exactly have opportunities to talk to him outside the class… we kind of just enter the meeting; the lecturer talks#there’s some learner engagement (almost entirely from people who are not me; i’m not gonna lie)#and then the class ends. i mean if i wanted to talk to him i could message him on slack but that’s… so much#i guess i could blast in there like ‘hey sam how’re you doing’ but… who does that#i mean someone did do that to me but that was in like week 2 of the class. you don’t do it in week… *checks notes* TEN???#(oh we’re codenaming him sam now because apparently!!! i’m unwell enough to need to name him here and i’m not using his actual name because#even though it’s a common name; fuck that entirely)#so anyway. sam likes to do a rubiks cube. twice now when we’ve been given a task to do i’ve seen him finish before the time limit and start#solving a cube and i’m ngl i like his hands and we’ll leave that train of thought THERE#well. it just so happens that i own a pair of rubiks cube earrings. they’re not actual cubes; it’s like a 2d drawing of a rubiks cube#backed by plastic. i bought them literally just because they’re cute. i think i was looking for dice earrings and found these#they’re not like super gaudy imo but they are one of my bigger earring pairs… eclipsed only by the tennis themed ones tbh#and the dog ones i bought because they looked like mabel 🥲#so what i’m thinking is i wear the rubiks cube earrings because honestly the worst case scenario is just that he doesn’t notice and no one#notices and nothing happens. i’m not sure what i’m expecting TO happen actually… it’s not as if he’s going to slide in my dms like ‘did you#wear those because you like me’ ‘yes sam yes i did. and if i had redheaded programmer earrings i would wear those too#that is how much i like you’#probably all that will happen is the most talkative person in class (who usually gets in early & strikes up a conversation with somebody;#either the teacher about his dog or one of us about a project) will compliment me on them and i’ll be like ‘oh thanks! i love cubes’#and stare into sam’s soul and he won’t be able to tell it’s him i’m looking at because there’s 12 of us all in a mosaic#so. that. i DO hope no one asks me if i can actually do a rubiks cube though because no i absolutely cannot but sam can & it’s embarrassing#personal

Trades, Sacrifices – How to handle your chess game?
“How to handle our pieces well?” is a question often faced by chess players. Placing them on optimal squares and using them to their full potential is important.
Making exchanges/ trades and sacrifices are a critical part of handling your pieces well. The one who knows how to do these correctly benefits a lot from this understanding!
Let’s take a thorough look into what exactly trades and sacrifices are!
What are trades?
Trading pieces means you exchange your pieces with that of your opponent — which is of similar value. It can be when you
Exchange your queen (9 points) with their queen (9 points).
Exchange your bishop(3 points) for their knight (3 points).
Exchanging pawns
It’s like you give Rs. 20, and buy chocolate that’s worth Rs.20 in a supermarket. A fair trade!
Trading pieces is one of the most fundamental elements of chess. They happen in every game and without them, the game can’t really progress. Since they are inevitable, you need to have a good understanding of how to make these exchanges correctly.
Good Trades vs Bad Trades
Exchanges can be good or bad depending on the positional value of those pieces.
For example, if you capture your opponent’s good bishop that was controlling an important diagonal with your not-so-great bishop – that is a good exchange! You eliminated your opponent’s good piece against your bad piece.
Try to do such trades as much as possible to get a good position.
Similarly, a bad exchange is when you give up your important piece for an average piece of your opponent. Such exchanges are unfavorable for you.
What are sacrifices?
Sacrificing pieces basically means that you intentionally give up your piece which is of a higher value to a piece of lower value of your opponent. Or sometimes you just give up your piece without anything in return at all!
For example –
Giving up your rook (which is 5 points) to capture the opponent’s bishop (3 points)
Giving up a queen(which is 9 points) for your opponent’s pawn (1 point).
But why sacrifice?
Would you give away Rs. 10 for a Re. 1 coin?
Obviously no right?
But what if you do research and realize that if you buy the Re. 1 coin today, the coin will be worth Rs. 100 in the next 3 months in the market? All you have to do is pay Rs.10 right now for the coin.
Most likely, you’ll buy it, depending on how good your research is!
That’s exactly what sacrifice is in chess. It’s a form of investment. You give up something right now, with the intention to get a return in the future.
Making a sacrifice requires some degree of understanding and tactical ability. You must be sharp in your calculations and be able to soundly evaluate the resulting position beforehand. External factors like risk-taking skills, courageousness, and confidence are also important. After all, you are giving up your piece so you must trust your decision!
Also, sacrifices need to have an intention behind them. If not, then you can call them blunders(or bad investments!).
Sacrifices are usually decisive in nature. Unlike trades where the material is balanced after exchanging pieces, sacrifices are usually done for two purposes – to get a better position or to get out of a bad position.
Types of sacrifices
There are 3 basic types of sacrifices for your understanding –
Gambit – this word is commonly used to describe pawn sacrifices. Usually done in the opening or early middlegame, gambits are made to gain a positional advantage at the cost of a pawn (or two). Most of the time, you gain time by making good piece development or controlling squares while your opponent is busy capturing your pawns.
Piece Sacrifice – it is when you sacrifice any piece other than your pawns. Usually, this is more decisive than pawn sacrifice and leads to a better position in the resulting position or even better – a mate!
Exchange sacrifice – it is when you give up your rook for your opponent’s knight or bishop. It is usually done to control important squares and where your minor piece might have more activity than your opponent’s rook.
Taking the decision to make a sacrifice comes with a lot of experience and training. That’s why our coaches often emphasize solving tactics and mate puzzles. This way, children can build their confidence when it comes to giving with their pieces and evaluating the future position correctly in their mind.
Conclusion? Know your purpose
Knowing the purpose of exchange and a sacrifice really helps in understanding how to use them. The more you play, the better your choices will be regarding the various trades and sacrifices you make.
Good luck and have fun trading and sacrificing your pieces.
If you’re looking for an experienced coach who will guide your child and them improve their game, book a call with us!

so i had a thought.
what if 236 is actually jujutsu tech propaganda?
mei mei is broadcasting this entire thing, right? what better way to protect gojo from bounty hunters etc., than convince the entire world that he's already dead?
the final battle happened offscreen, with significantly less fanfare. gojo rescued megumi, defeated sukuna. the day was saved.
at a cost.
gojo gave up everything - at least, everything he valued. the six eyes, his abilities as a sorcerer. he assumed that would make him a normal man, and he was right -
what he didn't realize was that it would also make him blind.
so now... you live in a nice apartment complex. a guy moves in next to you.
you can't help but notice he happens to be blind - at least, he's wearing a blindfold, uses a cane, but he's often swearing and stumbling through his porch, over his entryway. he is very, very blind.
you, wondering what the fuck up is with your obviously blind neighbor who seems to have no sense of self-preservation.
he walks into objects all the time, especially hitting his head on things, since he's so tall. forgets his cane when going out. the dude just left his door open the other day, like, WIDE OPEN, who DOES that?
helping gojo learn, not only how to be human, but how to be disabled. how to not be disgusted with being disabled.
gojo learning that being blind isn't the end of his life, nor the end of his happiness - life is still worth living, even without one of his senses.
helping gojo mourn his lost sense while still finding things to enjoy. gojo who learns to cook by taste, by feeling heat or texture, with your help. gojo learning to organize things so he always knows where they are from memory.
bringing gojo audiobook versions of your favorite stories even if he teases you for your taste. he listens to them when he has nothing to do, which is most of the time, now.
he goes out on walks all the time because he doesn't have a job, you learn. while it's nice to not have to work, you can tell he comes from money, his life comes with a gaping hole inside it, one that isn't entirely explained by the blindness.
gojo who's overstimulated all the time because he no longer has infinity as a barrier, but somehow also as touch-starved as ever, alone in a foreign country away from all his students and colleagues.
gojo, who has only ever done Big Things with his life, who has only ever been an Important Person doing world changing things, now, just an ordinary guy.
he barely cares what happens to himself now. it's not that he wants to die, or anything. it's just that he doesn't have a reason to live.
and that wouldn't change overnight. not with cooking lessons or audiobooks or friendly greetings whenever you see him by the door. not with smiles or waves (he can't see them) or a braille rubik's cube you find online (how did he solve it in under a minute??) or karaoke (he has an AMAZING singing voice, and he knows so many songs better than you do?).
it wouldn't change overnight, because nothing worthwhile forms in a day, or two, or even a week or a month.
but gojo's life doesn't have to be amazing a day after he's gone blind. or a week. or a month. it's okay if it's difficult, he learns, it's okay if he hates it, hates himself, hates every choice that brought him here, even if he would never take it back.
it's okay. it gets better. with you there? it's getting better.
#jjk#jujutsu kaisen#gojo satoru#gojo x reader#fluff#elsey rambles#god i just LOVE the post-sukuna-fight gojo fics man#i love satoru being brought down to normal. learning to struggle like regular people do#and realizing! it is actually not so bad! it's okay actually! life is fine when you can't hollow purple or forcefield protect yourself!#gojo has spent so much of his life looking at the Big Picture. he can enjoy some little things. as a treat#a testament for my love for that man that i'd eat up a fic of him with 0 sorcery or fun fantasy elements in it#his personality is good enough for me. the awfulness of it is the charm!#there should have been sooo much more angst to his character#oh wait those tags too#angst#hurt/comfort#god hurt/comfort is my CRACK

cw: dom!gn reader, reader is a stellaron hunter, silverwolf is a bit pathetic, praise kink, a bit of fluff, oral (reader giving), usage of toys
Silverwolf HCs
╰┈➤ SFW ;
: ̗̀➛ Silverwolf absolutely loves it when you play video games with her. What could be better than enjoying her favorite activity with her favorite person? Equally, she'll also be supportive of your hobbies.
: ̗̀➛ Not very used to expressing her affection; so she offers to help you with things and spoils you with gifts. Mentioned that you wanted to learn an instrument? She's already researching the most high quality brand and having it delivered to your address as you speak.
: ̗̀➛ Definitely a show-off when you're around. Silverwolf would hack into IPC's servers using only one hand and use the other to solve a Rubik's cube or something. It's not particularly hard for her, but it looks cool— or at least she hopes you think it does.
: ̗̀➛ Especially if you two are playing together. She'll take you to the most difficult boss in the game, make it 10x stronger, and still one shot it with her fancy gear that she undoubtedly spent a huge sum of money for.
: ̗̀➛ If someone even looked at you the wrong way, Silverwolf would 100% leak their personal information online. She still claims that she's not the overprotective type.
: ̗̀➛ She'll never admit it, but she loves when you spoil and pamper her. Give her all of your time and attention; she won't mind doing the same if it's for you.
NSFW under the cut !
╰┈➤ NSFW ;
: ̗̀➛ She's cheeky and sassy with her words, but she's actually very obedient— she follows each order with no hesitation, just for the chance that you'll pat her head and praise her.
: ̗̀➛ Very bratty when she's jealous; she'll give you the cold shoulder and ignore you until you finally snap and fuck her into submission.
: ̗̀➛ Definitely loves it when you eat her out under her desk as she plays her games. She wouldn't mind being on the giving end either— just say the world.
: ̗̀➛ Her voice gets softer and high-pitched when she's close to release; chanting your name like a mantra as she comes undone under your touch.
: ̗̀➛ She's a squirter.
: ̗̀➛ Likes to use and experiment with toys. Money isn't a problem for the two of you as stellaron hunters, so why not use it to invest in your pleasure?
: ̗̀➛ Very cuddly and affectionate afterwards. She'll hug you and tell you how much she loves you; even though she's aware she doesn't show it much. Silverwolf feels so lucky to have you in her life.
[Silverwolf sent you an image.]
When you received this notification, you were expecting to be greeted by a screenshot of her gacha pulls; or of the new skin she had been thinking of buying.
You certainly weren't expecting a photo of her in your shirt and nothing else. The fabric seemed to hug her curves oh so perfectly; perky nipples peaking through.
Was it possible to be jealous of an inanimate object? Yes, as you had just confirmed; a bit ironic considering that it was your shirt.
Your train of thought is broken as she sends you another message.
[Silverwolf : you left your shirt in my room, dummy]
Was it possible to be immensely grateful to an inanimate object? Definitely. Thank Aeons you accidentally forgot your shirt in her room.
Unfortunately, you were already resolute on tearing it off of her.

A fellow Toasty lover I see...👀
Do you have any headcanons for them yourself, both general and within a relationship? I'm curious :3
Nakedtoster Headcanons!
◦ Toast loves Final Fantasy as everyone knows and because of that he’s becomes rather irresponsible with money when it comes to it. Buying the books, props and every single game.
◦ Toast and Xyx are the best of friends Toast can find your IP address and Xyx loves trolling people
◦ When Toast gets in a relationship and his significant other gets any type of hate online best believe Xyx is trolling them online, it’s a hobby of his.
◦ Toast owns a pair of pink cat ear headphones half as a joke and the other is because he likes cats and his hair is pink.
◦ Toast has been misgendered often in public because of his pink long hair.
◦ Toast comes off as the type to have a comfort game like, animal crossing, Minecraft, or Roblox.
◦ He doesn’t own many consoles he’s a PC and a Nintendo switch and maybe a Ds or something from when he was a kid.
◦ Toast is not against doing inherently feminine things like makeup and painting nails if you want to. He might not even take off the color off hid his nails because he’s too lazy.
◦ If you’re in a relationship with Toast he most likely sees you as a friend and a lover next.
◦ He would love it if you played Final Fantasy XV comrades with him and Xyx.
◦ He definitely wears those cringey shirts saying I left my video games for this not because he likes them but I they were gifts and couldn’t care less what he wears most of the time.
◦ If you have been with Toast long enough eventually he might dedicate a character In the games he makes to you.
◦ When it comes to dates with Toast they aren’t common given he is an introvert but you will be treated to snacks and Resident evil and the bad Final Fantasy movies he claims doesn’t do them justice yet but watches them anyways.
◦ Toast is the type of guy to go to comic con and other conventions, after all it’s hinted that he is a content creator with his Final Fantasy advertisement.
◦ He generally likes anything concerning Capcom for the most part and enjoys story more than combat.
◦ He can solve a Rubik cube no problem and rather good at puzzles of all sorts.
◦ I don’t know why but once again I see him as a monster energy drink consumer not so much on G fuel not even if he was payed.
◦ Toast can cook but only basic things like a proper breakfast and a sandwich dinner is a 100% on you or take out because even if he tried the food might be bland. He is willing to learn through.
◦ From what I can tell Toast dyed his hair he’s a natural blonde that dyed his eyebrows brown/black or he’s a brunette that has to bleach and dye his hair every so often. Whatever the case is, Toast would appreciate it when you help him with his hair.
◦ When it comes to you guys first kiss he is rather clumsy out of all the Blooming panic love interest I think he has the least romantic experience.
◦ Every year he allows you to pick out his glasses frames as he couldn’t care less what he picks through most of the time it remains the same and you’re just putting random frames on his face to see how they look.
◦ Toast doesn’t necessarily need glasses but he’s couldn’t see the writing on the board in the back of the class. He still wears them today to “enjoy the effort but into the games and graphic blah blah.” He doesn’t want to admit that he’s actually a bit blind.
◦ His favorite thing on would probably be a sundress (an actual sundress) or cosplay/ convention clothes.
◦ He loves the taste of Pepto-Bismol
◦ He does have back problems given his horrendous posture during gaming.

🌙 Moon in 7th house - this year, you'll be emotionally dependent on someone special (it doesn't have to be a romantic partner, it can be a best friend or a business partner). You'll feel the need to nurture the person you deeply care about, acting like a mother at times.
If you are single, expect to get into a fulfilling, committed partnership this year. Your future partner might portray the traits of the zodiac sign where your SR Moon is located in (for ex. If you've got an Aquarius Moon in 7th house in your current SR, you might end up in a unconventional relationship with a highly intelligent, eccentric and emotionally aloof partner BUT you might also act more distant with your partner). Often times, the Moon represents a reflection of our own deepest desires, insecurities and emotions - hence the mirroring effect with your partner.
If you are already in a relationship, this is the year for setting roots with your partner. You might discuss having a family, getting engaged or getting married.
🏡 Pluto in 4th house - there's a powerful change coming in your home life. Often times, Pluto in 4th house in SR can talk about death in the family, but unless you've got placements in your 8th house in SR (which you don't seem to), i wouldn't worry about this possibility.
If you're still living with your parents, expect to move out this year. Considering you've also got Moon and Jupiter in 7th house, there's a high possibility you might move in with a partner this year.
If you're more of a shy, introverted person, this year you might get out of your shell. Since your safety and comfort will be shaken up, you might realise that you need to man/woman up. Change isn't scary - stagnation is. Life moves forward and so do you.
📚 Mercury in 3rd house - this year, you'll feel more open to exchange ideas with various people, learn new stuff and travel short distances. If you've been wanting to study a new language, this is a great placement to have! You'll assimilate new words so fast.
If you've got any siblings, expect to have better communication with them. You might make a lot of new acquaintances this year, whether in a school setting, in your immediate surroundings (your neighbourhood for example) or online.
🏫 Venus in 3rd house - this year, you'll fall in love with studying! If you're still in school, you might become top of your class and/or one of the most popular girls. People might perceive you as the "ideal girl" when it comes to academic pursuits.
If you're single and ready to mingle, you might meet your next romantic encounter in the classroom, among acquaintances and friends (or friends of friends), in the library, in your neighbourhood or during a school competition.
You will be attracted to witty individuals/class clowns, nerds and those who make you feel young. You might also have a hard time deciding between two people (or even multiple people lol).
This year, you might also get some new intellectual hobbies (solving crosswords, sudoku, rubik cube) or you might get into riding a bike/monocycle, rollerskating, skateboarding or juggling.
🤬 Mars in 3rd house - with this placement, there's a high possibility that this year you'll feel more energized and active when it comes to your study goals! You might have the drive to study everyday, even if it's not for a long time.
When communicating with others, you might be more blund in your approach this year. You won't hold back when angry and you might get into frequent debates and fights (but only verbally).
🤎 Saturn in 5th house - this year, you'll likely choose to date to find a long-term partner. You'll likely be extra picky when choosing a future partner, but you won't be afraid of the obstacles and difficulties that might arise in the dating phase (for ex. your parents or their parents might not approve of you two dating, lack of time for seeing each other etc.). You might not feel like you can be fully yourself while dating and will probably feel much more comfortable being your authentic self once in a relationship.
If you are already in a relationship, this placement might bring difficulties in conceiving (if you and your partner have decided to have a baby).
💎 Jupiter in 7th house - this year, you might meet your future spouse!(but it's important to take into consideration Juno's position in your SR too). Your partner will likely bring you a lot of joy in your life. They might be a foreigner, come from a different culture or be well-travelled. They're likely well educated and a great storyteller. They might not have a lot of patience, but they're a lot of fun! Always on the go, wanting to experience life with you.
If Saturn and Jupiter are sextiling each other, you might end up marrying your (next) partner this year! (if you want to, of course)

ee @ jacaranda baltic, liverpool
it’s, once again, haphazardly-written everything everything show debrief time. these shows were advertised as having signings after, which they then cancelled for schedule reasons but said they would be hanging around after, but we lurked a bit and all we saw was jeremy RUNNING into a van that then drove off. so.
@shallowtboy and i spent most of the day wandering around various galleries and museums which was lovely even if half the places we attempted to go were closed. the gift shop of one of the places we went had these tiny 2x2x2 rubiks cubes on keychains, which OBVIOUSLY we ended up buying, because, well. yknow. we went to the pub to eat first and badly followed too many online guides on how to solve 2x2x2 cubes, and i realised rapidly i have absolutely none of the spatial reasoning skills to be able to know what i was doing. i am now 100x more in awe of alex robertshaw than i was.
when we arrived to the venue we could hear the first show of the day still hadn’t finished, because s/s/w/d was leaking out of the walls of this very nice former brewery (what a joy! to hear it!), and nobody else was waiting outside so we went to the pub next door (and used bill clinton’s autobiography as a fortune-telling device) until ~45 minutes before doors. we got chatting to some lovely people in the queue. i will never tire of hearing strangers mention dave sardine out loud irl.
they let us in out of the rain finally, and we ran right to the front, securing the coveted middle-left-right-between-jon-and-alex spot at the barrier which was INHUMANELY close to the stage. if i’d tried hard enough i could’ve reached over and started poking at alex’s pedals, haaa. we watched pete come on and warm up by playing scales on the keyboard for a bit. i followed the Pope on twitter.
the show was INCREDIBLE, because we were in this tiny sweaty low-ceilinged basement with 450 other people and everyone there was clearly SO into it (the guy behind me was yelling along to every lyric so loudly and violently! yes!! good!!!) which culminated in all this sweaty rowdy energy that jon was so clearly feeding off of. he did at one point say “this is the best one of these we’ve done so far” but i’m not convinced he doesn’t say that to everyone. there was a massive metal pillar on the stage between him and jeremy that he kept leaning against/holding and swinging around towards the latter half of the set. he did definitely make eye contact with me at one point, mortifyingly, and i’m also pretty sure he noticed shallowtboy and i doing our newest Bit of “point at pete every time he hits the Distant Past Button during distant past”, whoops. we came here to have an absolute nonsense time, what can i say?
the energy was just SO powerful and jon was really leaning into it, including one bit during no reptiles where he growl-yelled FUUUCK off-mic which i will be thinking about for the rest of my life. sorry everyone! alex robertshaw was exactly as strange on stage as you expect him to be, but he did occasionally smile at the others in a sort bemused way, like “wow they really are loving this”. he kept switching between eyes-closed-standing-there-gently-wiggling Standard Alex Stuff and occasional wide-eyed what-looked-like-fear whenever he actually bothered to look up at the crowd. alex pls. we are harmless. i have a rubiks cube in my bag for you to sign. (AND YET IT REMAINS UNSIGNED… HOPEFULLY THEY ACTUALLY DO THE SIGNING WHEN I AM AT MY NEXT SHOW ON FRIDAY… THIS BIT HAS GONE ON TOO LONG)
it was special and intense and shallowtboy and i are doing it all again on friday, with about 300 fewer people in attendance. please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. also jon had a little jason voorhees pin on his guitar strap.

okay so i recently obtained a gothorita. i already know most of the stories about them kidnapping children are MOSTLY bullshit based off a few small niche cases. im worried more about toys, beds, feeding and stuff. most stuff is made for stuff that is NOT humanoid pokemon (the local supply store only has stuff for more bestial pokemon) so i was wondering if there was anything i should by specifically or online stores i could shop at?
Ah. Taking care of humanoid pokemon (especially humanoid psychic types) is a common struggle as people often don't know exactly how to treat them. A general baseline is that most humanoid pokemon tend to be a bit more intelligent, especially if they're a psychic type or often posses similar abilities. Think the intelligence of a 9-14 year old on average depending on the pokemon, maybe a little more.
With that out of the way, for toys I recommend stuff for human children that Gothorita can fiddle with and use their excess psychic energy and brainpower on. Puzzles like rubik's cubes and perplexus are especially good, as Gothorita will not only have a puzzle to explore, but they can also lift them up and look at them from multiple angles. You may need to buy new puzzles once they solve the first few a couple times, though, just to prevent boredome, but there is the bonus that you can solve the puzzles yourself with Gothorita or after they're done with them.
For feeding with humanoid pokemon, most people forgo food bowls and stuff (although not all, that is still an option, depending on your comfort levels and Gothorita's) and just give the meal to the pokemon OR allow their pokemon to eat at the table. Again this depends on both you and gothorita's comfort levels, as well as how you intend to train her.
Beds are a similar situation. Some people use pokemon beds, and some just buy them actual beds. Those aren't the only two options, as another popular choice is just having the pokemon sleep in it's pokeball, and I know someone who's Gallade actively chooses to sleep on the couch.
There isn't any one store I'd recommend for this stuff. For the toys and stuff you can just walk into any toy store and you're golden. If you're particularly worried about anything breaking, there's definitely stores that specialize in the care of certain types in your area, and it shouldn't be too hard to find one for psychic types. There you can get many puzzles and other equipment that's meant to be resistant to warping from continuous psychic force being applied to it.
