RAGE PLAYERZ ONLY
as with the prev polls: if you consider multiple, i suggest going for the one u feel aligned with currently/most often, which one u wanna represent in a poll like this, whichever has the most compelling role/narrative, whatever works for U. classpecting is very subjective, and fluid for a lot of people.
i actively encourage discussion in the notes or my inbox of what your class and aspect mean to u. simple or lengthy, i wanna hear it :J
excluding master classes bc no space for em, sorry.
for those who cant vote: i’d appreciate u passing the poll along. also, i’ll post updates throughout the week on how it’s going so everyone can have a peek inside. thank u

Thieves & Rogues: Inundation and Redistribution
A day late, I'm aware; turning 18 will do that to a girl. I'm now older, and definitely not wiser.
The Thieves & Rogues are another contentious group; particularly the Thieves for various discourse-generating reasons - but the Rogues have their pitfalls and fall victim to mischaracterisation a lot more than you'd assume.
The Thief:Rogue dichotomy embodies inundation, redistribution and possession. It's the authority over who gets to hold their Aspect for themselves; whether it's them or somebody else, that's what being a Redistribution Class is about.
There's often some insecurity about their capacity to hold it in play as well - and they tend to use a lot of their opposite Aspect's forces; after all, what do you get when you take something but the absence of it, and therefore its opposite?
Canonical Thief players are Vriska Serket (Thief of Light) and Meenah Peixes (Thief of Life).
Canonical Rogue players are Roxy Lalonde (Rogue of Void), Nepeta Leijon (Rogue of Heart), and my arch-nemesis Rufioh Nitram (Rogue of Breath).
Point A - the narrative function of the Thief.
The Thief is the one with active distribution of their Aspect; and therefore the one liable to actively steal it. This, on paper, sounds pretty nasty - there's a reason why Thieves are lumped in with the nebulously 'bad' classes; but it's a neutral role with possible applications in either sense.
They often hold a deep-seated obsession with their Aspect; they think it's something that's out to get them and conflate an excess of it with an absence. Their perceived lack of it motivates them to hoard it, as much as possible.
Vriska Serket, the Thief of Light, is contentious for a damn good reason. Imbued with ungodly plot armour and fortune's favour, she seizes control of the narrative by force, all the while bemoaning her unlucky streak & employing the most unsubtle methods of manipulation she can think to use.
Meenah Peixes, the Thief of Life... does not understand the consequences of her actions; period. She thinks Life is out to get her, exacts every bit of free will she has out of spite and cultivates discourse and stagnation to try and encourage character development. (Oh, yeah, she also... kills people. Like, a lot.)
Their opposite Aspects are, therefore, pretty prevalent! By taking away their Aspect; they leave the inverse behind.
Vriska stealing Light leaves Void. Meenah stealing Life leaves Doom.
Often, it's almost as if they're using their inverse to cultivate their actual Aspect; Vriska uses offscreen events to justify onscreen developments - it's how she 'takes luck'. Meenah uses suffering and control in order to encourage growth - it's how she 'takes life'.
They care very little for their Aspect at the centre of it all, despite their perceived obsession; they don't seem to understand the value of it at all. That's the interesting part, I feel.
Point B, the practical function of the Thief.
Now, taking the Aspect is a very powerful ability in the right hands. We don't just see Vriska metaphorically rob fortune, she literally steals luck from her enemies mid-fight and utilises chance and possibility in order to get the upper hand.
Meenah takes 'taking life' about as seriously as you can get - not only does she really like killing people, but as the Condesce everything she did resulted in stagnation and decay in her wake as she robbed the worlds she ruled of the ability to develop; using control and hegemony to cultivate development and failing miserably.
The opposing Aspect, again, plays a prominent role! Vriska forgoes certainty and manipulates the absence of a definitive outcome to play around with luck. Meenah forgoes development and enacts control on the people beneath her to play around with change.
Point C, the narrative function of the Rogue.
I'm gonna use the Thief's concluding point as the jumpoff point for the Rogues; whereas the Thief devalues their Aspect, the Rogue puts too much stock in its importance. Their Aspect is too important to them; and so their relationship with it differs.
Passive classes tend to act without realising it, and the Rogues are no different - I'd argue their presence often leads to their Aspect being taken in a way they don't realise they're doing.
Roxy Lalonde, Rogue of Void, is desperate for attention, and yet obfuscates knowledge, is isolated from all society and would rather get drunk at the start of her arc than face the truth of her situation. I'd argue that she downplays her own importance as a person in the face of her friends' catastrophic communication failures. By being around, she takes the Void from her session and opens up ways to communicate whilst learning to give irrelevance to things.
Nepeta Leijon, Rogue of Heart, puts people into boxes. She makes them into little cariacatures on her walls, plays matchmaker in her stories; and yet she's also one of the most emotionally mature and genuine trolls in the story - she wears her Heart on her sleeve, and doesn't deny it. By being around, she takes the Heart from her friends by way of drawing out truer selves, as we see in her relationship with the insecure & disingenuous Equius.
Rufioh Nitram, Rogue of Breath, takes people's sense of purpose and direction and makes their agency depend on his presence in their life. He does Damara and Horuss dirty time and time again, and yet they can't cut him off because he's made himself too important. And yet there he is, spineless, giving away his own free will because he holds no security in his selfhood. He's trapping people in relationships without realising. I also want to drop an anvil on his head.
The common thread, despite the differing situations, is the indirect usage of the opposing Aspect to passively take away the true Aspect and the character development involving a realisation of their Aspect's value and the importance of keeping it for oneself. Roxy is the only Rogue whose development we see in full, unfortunately; but there's snippets with Nepeta and Rufioh Nitram changing isn't happening any time soon.
Point D, then. The practical function of the Rogue.
Once again, Roxy is our only point of reference by virtue of being the only God-Tiered Rogue; but luckily, she also gives us some really good demonstrations. Roxy literally takes the nonexistence away from something, bringing it into existence.
Inversely, she's capable of giving Void to herself, cloaking herself and by extension her whole session in a veil of invisibility. She's controlling the distribution of Void, letting it both be taken and given; after making her peace with the distribution of it.
So, the common thread is the central question of 'who gets to have my Aspect?'
A Thief would tell you 'me', and a Rogue would tell you 'anyone else'. That's what I feel separates them, and yet don't let that convince you that Thieves are bad and Rogues are good; look at Rufioh. A Thief may take for altruistic reasons, and a Rogue may give away for... not so altruistic reasons!
Get creative with it, that's what I say. How about a Thief of Doom who takes on everyone else's suffering because they're self-sacrificial to a fault? ...Okay, actually, that's my idea, don't take that one.
Anyhow, next week I'll be concluding the 'normal' classes with the Maids and Sylphs! Should be fun, I'll see you then - hopefully on time, too.

"Rage", a poem I wrote based on the Emily Dickinson poem "Hope" and some of my positive interpretations of the Rage aspect
(and also kind of emotionally motivated by my struggles to try and get So Help Me Todd saved #savesohelpmetodd #renewsohelpmetodd)
"Rage" is the thing with fire
That's burning deep inside
When justice needs a little push
Or rules need be defied
And though it may not seem like much
When only from one voice
The rage of many joined as one
Can shout above the noise
The fire must be kept alight
And do not stop the song
For it's a call to set things right
Together we are strong

Rogue of Rage
A Rogue of Rage values authenticity and the truth so much that they give away their own to let others use it. They use and protect their own ideals and commitments to keep the truths they give away pure, often believing in the authenticity of others. This means they often encourage rebellion and authenticity, but personally, get stuck in their own ideals.

hello! I have stumbled upon your account a day or so ago and I really like it! you get the whole classpecting thing right on in my opinion :)) anyways, I was wondering if you could maybe analyze a rogue of rage? I feel like that combination might be interesting to look into! if you're busy, take as much time as you need <3
Hey, been a little while. Here's your analysis.
The Rogue of Rage
Tumblr media
I love the Rage Godtier colors.
Rogue - passive stealing class, one who steals aspect, or steals through aspect for others.
Rage - control over negative emotion, as well as Rage itself.
The Rogue of Rage is one who steals Rage, or steals through Rage for others.
The opposite of a Rogue of Rage is a Page of Hope.
Right off the bat, I can tell you that the Rogue of Rage is crafty. Rage is all about negativity and negative energy, perhaps literal Rage, and the Rogue of Rage is likely really good at taking that in stride.
They are smart enough to know how to diverge the Rage from others, either through careful wordplay or just being really good at changing the topic.
One of the themes of Rage is the concept of No, and I think that a Rogue of Rage would find very unique ways around this, because I think that they'd be incredibly clever people.
Rogues steal their aspect and turn it around, so I think that the Rogue of Rage would constantly be helping their friends out of trouble, because they can twist around people's words to make them look good or look bad depending on how they want it.
They are good at diverting Rage, but it always has to deflect elsewhere, like cause and effect. I think that they wouldn't be the best at perfectly getting around this, and that they might occasionally suffer the consequence of slipping up every so often.
But I think one of their flaws lies in that they never know when to be serious. They'd be so good at getting rid of the serious bad negative aspects that they'd never be able to focus long enough to understand that sometimes, shit has to go down.
Essentially, I'm saying that while the Rogue of Rage is a master wordsmith, sometimes they really need to get a good ass kicking to keep them in line.

What do you think the personality of The Rouge of Rage would be?
A rogue of rage is a player whose job is to redistribute rage in a way that makes it a healthy amount for everyone in the party. Boost the amount of truth in someone’s clouded mind. Rile up a warrior. Relieve someone of their madness.
Rogues are goofy, fun-loving people who like to avoid their problems and stay out of the spotlight. The aspect influences the personality a bit; nepeta is full of passion, roxy is more laid-back and accepting. This rogue could be a bit grumpy or like wrong-side-of-the-bed-ish. They might be always irritated with people, pointing out crazy things like a straight man in a comedy duo.
Rage is about truth and harsh realism. A very sensible aspect if kept in balance. This rogue could seize their full potential the way roxy did by being cornered and pressured into using it. (I’m pretty sure Roxy started voiding out when the trickster kids were chasing her.) I’m thinking it couldn’t be exactly like everyone is building a ton of crazy hope (somewhat like trickster mode actually; good example of hope gone wrong), because that could force the rogue into more serious avoidance. A-void-ance, huh? Maybe Roxy lucked out being a void player since rogues love running from their problems and the void is exactly the place to go. No, I think instead of everyone embracing hope it would have to be the rogue forced into a situation where they have to demonstrate their aspect. My personal most challenging moments are when I can’t keep hiding my feelings anymore and am forced to express myself. That progresses my arc or whatever irl. Personal growth. So the rogue would have to be pretending something isn’t true and then unleash the power of reality when backed into a corner or something. And that could also be another factor of rage like pretending not to be mad about something bugging them or trying not to succumb to insanity.

A hypothetical god tier for Glory from Fallout: the Rogue of Rage.
A Rogue of Rage is among those who use faith in possibility. They are motivated by others to steal defiance. (x) The Rogue of Rage lacks self control and hates complacency. (x) They are the Free Spirit Revolutionary, defined by reckless defiance. (x) Their opposite is the Thief of Hope. Their inverse is the Knight of Hope. They share their personality with the Bard of Heart. The Rogue of Rage would quest on a planet similar to the Land of Cubes and Rage, reigned over by Ares (God of War). They would rise to ascension on the wings of imps. (x)(x)(x)

SylphRogue of RageLight, please.
THE ROGUE-SYLPH OF LIGHT-RAGE
Tumblr media
The Rogue-Sylph of Light-Rage is someone who is distrusting of those around them, but they continue to help out because they feel like they must or that they owe their help to others for any number of reasons. The Rogue-Sylph of Light-Rage is a kind person, they have the best in mind for those that they care about and they want to do their best to help and make sure that everyone is happy with their lives and to make sure that nothing is out of the ordinary.
The Rogue-Sylph of Light-Rage nurtures their aspects in the world that surrounds them, in themselves, and in those around them, and they try their best to heal and fix their aspects so that they’re in peak condition for those that may want to use it. The Rogue-Sylph of Light-Rage is intelligent and they mostly act on their own thoughts and morals and ideas of what is right and wrong, even if it means stealing their aspects from other people, but they do have good intentions even if sometimes it comes across as they don’t.
The Rogue-Sylph of Light-Rage is part Rogue of Light, which means that they have issues when it comes to believing in themself and trusting their own instincts, rather letting those around them dictate their own actions and thoughts rather than doing it themself. They might even have a screwed up sense of reality or have a messed up perception of life, or maybe they were just taught that all their thoughts and ideas are wrong, but eventually they will learn to overcome this and they will grow in power and take control of their own life and Light.
The Rogue-Sylph of Light-Rage is part Rogue of Rage, which means that they struggle when it comes to regulating their own emotions, specifically when it comes to anger and Rage and sadness, and they are often dragged around by their own emotions rather than controlling them, likely because that’s how they were raised or a certain mindset that was given to them that just stuck. They don’t like criticism of any kind, but eventually they will learn how to accept themself and accept their emotions as they are and embrace them, using their emotions and their Rage for better, and they will learn how to manage their own feelings as well as helping out those around them with their own emotions.
The Rogue-Sylph of Light-Rage is part Sylph of Light, which means that they have a multitude of opinions and thoughts on countless subjects, always having a tidbit of information or a fun fact about any subject you can think about, no matter how scarce or unknown the subject is, the Sylph will always know about it. They like to collect things that interest them, be it anything from cool rocks and minerals to notebooks filled with information about atomic bombs and national war crimes, they love to collect things like a scavenger bird and share it with those that are close to them, whether those people want to hear about it or not.
The Rogue-Sylph of Light-Rage is part Sylph of Rage, which means that they are a very stubborn and mean person, they might be the kind of person to casually say cruel things to you and they are constantly berating you and pointing out flaws of yours. They mean this is a nice way though, like pointing out things that are out of place so that you can fix them, making you stronger in the process and helping you get better and fix yourself, even if this doesn’t always come across in the Sylph’s approach of doing things, and instead just makes them look like a jerk.

Powerset for a Rogue of Rage
one who distributes ferocity, madness, and spite
.
Basic Rage powers: High resistance to Grimdarkness, mind control, and direct corrupting influences. They have a power multiplier that scales with their fury - their class powers, weapon durability, and all forms of attack damage grow stronger with their anger and ferocious determination.
Rogue special: Your movement speed also scales with your Rage multiplier. Additionally, when you steal recently-used weapons, threatening letters or symbols of malice, or anything broken or thrown around in anger, your Rage multiplier increases.
.
Infiltration Skills
Pick 1 infiltration skill.
Smash 'n Grab: When your Rage multiplier is greater than 50% (1.5x), or you are carrying stolen Rage, you can cast small explosions of purple thunder around your hands and feet. These explosions don't harm you (outside some pain, but you can work through that when enraged), but they can break obstacles and propel your movements.
Stolen Fervor: Add these two options to your theft skills (see below).
When you steal Rage from someone, you can project an aura of bloodlust that makes people fear you. Lower-level enemies and most Carapacians will run away from you or follow your commands, while others will fight you as they would any threat.
When you give Rage away, nearby enemies and Carapacians will perceive you as less threatening and more docile than the recipient of your Rage.
Armory Scoundrel: When you see a player or game-constructed character, if they have a beloved or signature weapon, you can see a tooltip letting you know its basic function and what it looks like. If you steal this weapon from them, you gain the ability to teleport to that person via a portal of violet flame, no matter where they are.
.
Trickery Skills
You can steal Rage from someone if you touch them or steal an object from them. When you do this, pick 1:
Soothe their feelings. They can think clearly and sleep peacefully, unbothered by stress or painful emotions.
Numb their pain. Their physical and emotional pains fade, making them easier to distract or mislead.
Disorient them. Their fury gives way to exhaustion, and they become vulnerable to illusion and emotion-based debuffs.
You can give Rage away if you touch someone or drop an item. When you do this, pick 1:
Energize them. They feel charged up, focused, and ready to take on the next challenge.
Impassion them. They enter a berserker rage, with enhanced strength and reflexes, and greatly decreased mental and physical defenses.
Stir their doubt. Fear, regret, and pain overwhelm their thoughts, slowing their movements and decreasing their accuracy.
Curse an object with terror. It flies around wildly for 9 seconds, angling to hit the most outwardly threatening enemies, until it explodes. (Only available when giving Rage to dropped items.)
.
Intrigue Skills
In addition to your Infiltration Skill and Theft Skills, pick 1 intrigue skill.
Incendiary Intuition: You can sense which of your teammates need motivation, which are most stressed, and which are most prone to reckless action at a given moment.
Cloudless Storm: When you have an instinctual sense about how to deal with a threat (fight, run, etc), your allies understand you wordlessly. As long as your Rage multiplier is greater than 1x, they will be more receptive to following your lead on that threat.
