Estilo de personagem: Childs (The Thing, 1982), Roger DeMarco (Dawn of the Dead, 1978), Dana Scully (The X-Files).
Bruno
Frequentemente faz a limpeza no local e organiza todas as coisas. Também é quem ajuda Bruna a cozinhar. Armas favoritas: Caracal Aprimorado F - 9x19mm, Sal Grosso e Água Benta.
Estilo de personagem: Jo Harvelle (Supernatural, Main TV Series), Bibi (Night of the Demons 1, 1988), Natalie Simon (Urban Legend 1, 1998).
Bella
Prima da Bruna, namorada de Danezi. Costuma estar bastante presente nas baladas e caçadas. Armas favoritas: Níquel acetinado Magnum Research Desert Eagle Mark I - .357 Magnum e Sal Grosso. Estilo de personagem: Sidney Prescott (Scream).
Bia
MacReady (The Thing, 1982), Ruby (Supernatural, Main TV Series), Fox Mulder (The X-Files).

The Horse Hospital
At the corner of Herbrand Street and Colonnade in Bloomsbury, just a short distance away from Russell Square, sits a functional-looking Victorian building. The bold white lettering on the side identifies it as the Horse Hospital, and indeed this was how the building started life, as a stable for cab drivers’ sick horses. With facilities split across two levels, cobbled ramps with wooden slats, rather than stairs, allowed the equine patients access.
As the rather more punk-looking banner on the outside of the building may show, these days the horses are long gone, with the building now an anti-Establishment arts venue for art, film, fashion, literature, and music. Founded by stylist and costume designer Roger K. Burton in 1992, the Horse Hospital opened with a retrospective of Vivienne Westwood’s punk designs. Since then, it has continued to host an eclectic series of events, including screenings of cult films, performance poetry, one-off music installations, and niche book launches.
The building also houses the Contemporary Wardrobe Collection, a fashion archive that supplies clothing to TV, film, and fashion shows, providing a major stream of income for the Horse Hospital which otherwise receive little public funding. The venue was recently threatened with closure when the landlord attempted to increase the annual rent by a staggering 333%; a campaign to save the venue secured a lease until December 2024 with a rent increase of (a still unreasonable) 33%.
My visit to the venue in spring of 2022 coincided with the exhibition ‘ode to MEATYARD’, which was described as a celebration of the “unsung heroes and outsiders who pushed the boundaries of fashion styling and surrealism in the past.” The surreal experience was only heightened with me being the only person in the basement exhibition space; surrounded by mannequins in unconventional attire, I felt as if I had stepped into some forbidden space…

(via Never-before-seen Polaroids from the set of cult cyber classic Hackers | Dazed)
Hackers, directed by Iain Softley, follows a gang of teenagers on their travels through cyberspace, encountering corporate corruption and conspiracy embedded in the code. While the tech-centric plot is very much a product of its time – floppy disks feature heavily – its throbbing, Prodigy-laden soundtrack, kaleidoscopic hacking sequences, and a photogenic young cast including Angelina Jolie, Jonny Lee Miller, Matthew Lillard, and more have cemented its status as a cult classic. But one aspect of its appeal, which finds itself posted and regrammed ad infinitum, is its clothing.
Wearing costumes designed by the legendary Roger K Burton – who’s dressed everyone from the cast of Quadrophenia to Kanye West – the kids in Hackers rollerblade to school, get busted by the Secret Service, and hack the planet in Seditionaries parachute shirts, Quiksilver rash guards, bondage trousers, tacky tourist tees worthy of Vetements runways, and ‘half-American football, half-medieval’ Vivienne Westwood armour jackets. There’s even a date-night homage to John Galliano’s AW94 collection, which Burton says he was fawning over at the time.
These cross-cultural touches hint at the globalisation afforded by the internet, while the vintage pieces – many of which were pulled from Burton’s own extensive archive, The Contemporary Wardrobe Collection – give the aesthetic an agelessness. Utilitarian clothing also plays an important role, with fencing uniforms, military jackets and an orange life vest adding a sense of physicality and danger to what is sometimes just a group of people sitting around a computer. “They didn’t have a big wardrobe budget, so I had to be a bit creative,” he tells us.

Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag
I was tagged by @lettersfromthelighthouse. Thank you! I do have a version of this going up on YouTube as well, but I wanted to put it here too since I’ve done it I think every year since I started tumblr.
Amount of books you’ve read so far: 42!
Best book you’ve read so far in 2022: It’s a tie between The World Cannot Give by Tara Isabella Burton and The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins.
Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2022: I haven’t read many sequels this year, but Heartstopper Vol. 4 by Alice Oseman.
New release you haven’t read yet but want to: Either/Or by Elif Batuman, which means I need to read The Idiot first and How to Be Eaten by Maria Adelmann.
Most anticipated release for the second half of the year: Fairy Tale by Stephen King
Biggest surprise favourite new author (debut or new to you): Ava Reid. I read Juniper & Thorn and loved it.
Newest fictional crush: None. I don’t really get them for book characters. But my newest favorite character is Gwendolen Harleth from Daniel Deronda by George Eliot.
Book that made you cry: You’d Be Home Now by Kathleen Glasgow and The Wicker King by K. Ancrum both made me tear up.
Book that made you happy: Phoebe, Junior by Margaret Oliphant.
Most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year (or received): Gothic: An Illustrated History by Roger Luckhurst. It’s stunning!
What books do you need to read by the end of the year?: Um, a lot haha. Basically everything that’s left on my exam lists. I’m too tired to write all that out, but it’s basically just lots of Victorian novels and feminist theory.
I tag anyone who wants to do this!
