I was sitting on my balcony with the awning out when Ryan rode up. I rolled my eyes at the motorcycle. He flipped up the visor but left the helmet on to keep dry from the rain. By the time he was opening my door, I had already made a cup of coffee for him.

“hey.” He greeted me as he took off his helmet. “Mmm. Thanks.” Ryan took off his jacket and went to change his pants before coming over and hugging me. “Fair warning my pants are hanging in your shower to dry.” I laughed and shook my head.

“I’ll try to remember that but no promises.” I said, leaning into him as he kissed my head.

“I’ll take them before I leave. Gotta change back into them.” He assured me. “Didn’t want to miss date night.”

“you never miss date night. Even when you think you’re going to.” I whispered as he nuzzled into my head. I sighed happily as he kissed my throat. I buried my face in his hair as he tugged me closer. “Why you’re riding that damn thing in the rain is beyond me.” Ryan chuckled before pulling back and kissing me deeply.

“hi.” He whispered when we broke apart. I laughed as I ran my fingers through his hair, brushing it off his face. “That damned thing is my only transportation at the moment.”

“what?” I asked, eyebrows shooting up. “What happened to the Cadillac?” Ryan smiled at me sheepishly.

“Brad crashed it.” Ryan said, wincing at the face I pulled. “Drunk. He’s alright. But he wrapped the car around a light pole.”

“dammit Brad.” I moaned, leaning back slightly as Ryan laughed at my reaction. “So you just have the bike?” Ryan nodded.

“yep.” He confirmed. “Thought we could take a ride tonight. Maybe go out to the lake. Skinny dip in the rain.” Ryan teased, slipping his hand under my shirt. I grabbed his wrist and shook my head with a smirk.

“down boy.” I teased back. Ryan winked at me and I rolled my eyes. “I don’t like riding motorcycles when it’s sunny, you really think I’ll ride with you now that it’s storming?” Ryan leaned in and kissed me again.

“oh come on. It’s safe. You know I can handle that thing.” He pouted. I raised my eyebrows at him.

“oh yeah?” I said. “Tell that to the medical bill you got when that bitch tried to run you off the road. Or the repair bills. Or the fact that we had to find a lawyer to sue her for damages and all that other crap.”

“(Y/N)…” Ryan moaned, breaking away to sip his coffee now that it was cooling off. “Come on. That was a few years ago. I’m fine. I got a new bike. And she lost her license for a year. I don’t go up there anymore.”

“no.” I agreed with him. “But I was supposed to go with you. To see Brad and Janet. At the cabin remember?” Ryan’s expression fell and he nodded.

“yeah i remember.” He said, taking my hand and drawing me close again. He rested my head against his shoulder and hugged me tightly. Ryan kissed my head and rocked us slightly. “If you’d been on the back of the bike you woulda gotten the brunt of the damage.” Ryan said quietly. His voice had gone hollow. We stood in silence for a second. “Hey. None of that. Come on. Let’s order dinner and watch some toons and maybe I’ll spend the night.” Ryan pulled back to look at me. “How does that sound?”

“sounds pretty good.” I agreed quietly. Ryan nodded.

“ok.” He said, keeping his arm over my shoulder as he moved to grab my phone. He started dialing our usual take out place while moving towards the couch. “Hey.” He waited until I was looking up at him, arms wrapped tightly around him as we cuddled up waiting for the food. “I love you. And I wouldn’t do anything to intentionally hurt you. You know that right?” I nodded and kissed him softly. Ryan cupped my cheek and smiled at me.

“I know.” I assured him. “I love you too.” We smiled at each other before going back to cuddling.

Chapter 4 is up! We're back to the library in this chapter. Toni and Jeffrey learn that both her supervisor and new co-worker are fans of his work and have read all of his books. However, Jeffrey gets annoyed by both of them because the supervisor thinks he's dead and the new co-worker is a little too friendly to Toni. 

But will he warm up to both of them? Guess time will tell. 

This chapter turned out to be longer than originally planned, so I moved the smut to Chapter 5. Stay tuned when that happens as well as Jeffrey dealing with his biggest demon afterwards, the memory of his abusive mother. 

Author's Note: Toni's new coworker is the one-off minor character, Ryan Hope, from the show, St. Elsewhere portrayed by my favorite voice actor and fellow Midwesterner, Rob Paulsen. I posted about this character a couple of days ago and I just loved him so much I had to use him. He's just so cute in that episode IMO. 😍

So this is a shot in the dark because I was on Quotev for a long time and no one remembers this but me but does anyone who was on Quotev and was in the 2012 TMNT fandom remember a girl named Leah on Quotev who was obsessed with Donnie to the point where she said she would go into the aisles of Walmart or Target where the toys were and would hear Donnie speaking to her and calling her name and saying her loved her (which imagine Rob Paulsen’s voice in your head saying all that) and that she felt a true connection with Donnie and that they were soulmates and she used to fight with another girl named Delilah who would say basically the same thing and they would fight over who Donnie’s “real girlfriend” was and it was a bunch of Quotev drama and I think eventually Leah deactivated after Delilah got her friends to bully her off of the site and Delilah was bragging about being Donnie’s one true love and I remember her last post being about her finally going to be able to be with Donnie forever and that has some disturbing implications

Like does anyone remember this at all because it was wild. I remember actually being semi moots with Leah and trying to like mediate between her and the people harassing her because I was like “This is a cartoon about mutant turtles it shouldn’t be that serious” but they were all adamant that it was that serious

And they both had fanart and multiple fanfics and everything and it’s just all gone so I have no idea if anyone remembers

(this is a LONG post, so be warned lol)

IN MY OPINION, here is my ranking of the Loonatics:

1 — Rev Runner

Rev being first is for obvious reasons. He's SUCH a kind and generous person!!!!!!!!! How can you NOT like him!!!!!!

I will say that Rob Paulsen did an AMAZING job at voicing Rev. I don't think that I would have connected so strongly with Rev without Rob Paulsen's wonderful voice acting.

Moreover, everyone's voice acting is remarkable!

My ONLY complaint about Rev was that we didn't get enough of him. I still wish that we saw more of Rev on screen. Rev was mistreated SO MUCH in terms of screen time. It's so unfair. I swear, in some episodes, Rev is barely on screen for more than 2 minutes. :(

REV MY BELOVED

I don't have much else to say about Rev at the moment.

Who knows? Maybe I'll make an appreciation post all about Rev.

Maybe one day...

2 — Tech E. Coyote

Tech is definitely one of the most popular Loonatics, and it isn't only because of his appearance (although his appearance does contribute a lot). Tech is that perfect blend of nerdy and cool for my enjoyment.

I especially enjoy the fan interpretations of Tech. The fanfics that I've read show Tech's softer side a lot more. I wish that we saw more of Tech's emotional side in the show.

Tech isn't shown to be too emotional, at least on screen.

I do recall that Tech has some emotional attachment to his technology, most notably in Weathering Heights and The Menace of Mastermind.

However, other than these moments, Tech tends to be the most emotionally distant member of the entire team.

I wish that we saw more of Tech's emotional side in canon. I am very glad that Tech and Rev are more vulnerable with each other in the fanfiction. It's incredibly refreshing to see. I especially like the headcanon that Tech is autistic. It adds a lot to Tech's characterization where it shows Tech's meeker side. Besides, I already self-project onto Tech and Rev a ton. So I declare that Tech is autistic!!! LOL. :3

I will admit that Tech was often used as a plot device by the writers. Typically, I would be fine with powerful characters.

However, there are some moments where Tech is excessively powerful, and none of it is acknowledged in the episode.

For instance, in Sypher, Tech just recreates everybody's individual powers with suits.

What?

Honestly, I think that this idea could have worked if Tech only built one suit (*cough* REV *cough*). However, having Tech construct suits for all 6 members of the team seems very unlikely, even for his intellect.

In the same episode, the fight scene lasts a fourth of the episode.

During the fight scene, the Loonatics only defeat Sypher because Duck throws one egg.

WHAT?

I don't think that Tech making suits that recreates everybody's powers was necessary in this episode. Maybe I'm just overthinking this part of the episode. I just think that Sypher could have ended in a better way.

Tech is incredibly overpowered in other episodes of Loonatics Unleashed, too.

This can be seen in the first episode: Loonatics on Ice. Here, Tech is able to command a set of flying motorbikes from a remote AND make a flying boat.

WHAT??

In the same episode, Tech's lasers fail to melt the iceberg AND the jetpacks malfunction.

WHAT???

And none of this is acknowledged whatsoever.

WHAT?????

I think that at certain points of the show, Tech's power could have been better implemented. Thankfully, Tech's abilities are more balanced in other episodes.

(I apologize for bringing up the first episode so often in these asks. Loonatics on Ice is one of the weakest episodes of season 1, and it's a shame that this show began so poorly. If the first episode of Loonatics Unleashed was stronger, then I think that the public perception of this show would be way more positive. Honestly, I am tempted to write my own version of the first episode, but this isn't a priority of mine.)

With all of this said, I think that Tech's positive traits outweigh his negative ones.

As an aside, Tech IS Rev's boyfriend (and this fandom's collective boyfriend lol).

EVERYONE knows it...except for Tech and Rev!

Hahaha.

I know that I am ranking my favorites between individual characters, but I think that Rev brings out the best traits of Tech.

I think that these two complement each other's positive traits so well that it is a wonder to witness (both in canon and in fanfics).

Also, I just got confirmation from EVERYONE who worked on Loonatics Unleashed that Tech and Rev began dating after season 2 and are married and are madly in love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(THIS IS A JOKE; I AM JUST FEEDING MY TECHREV DELUSIONS; THE CLOSET IS MADE OUT OF GLASS; REV AND TECH ARE IN LOVE; NO ONE CAN CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE)

As a final point, just look at him. Cuteness overload. 2nd fav.

Enough said.

3 — Danger Duck

Danger Duck is a very interesting character to discuss.

I LOVE his power. It's quirky and it fits him perfectly.

His voice fits him perfectly, too. Jason Marsden was the perfect fit for Danger Duck. His voice accentuates Duck's personality so well.

Duck was present in a lot of episodes. And if he wasn't the focus of certain episodes, he at least had something to say. For wanting Rev to shut up so often, Duck was one of the team members who talked the most.

I think that Duck was one of the funniest characters on the show. In nearly every episode, Duck makes most of the jokes.

However, this comes at a fault.

At times, I think that Duck's positive character traits were weakened in favor of prioritizing comedy. And I think that that is a shame.

In my mind, I think that Duck doesn't want to intentionally hurt others. And so I don't like it when Duck makes comments that intentionally put others in physical danger.

For instance, I think that the weakest episode that features Duck is It Came From Outer Space.

Yes, I know that I've said that this is one of my favorite episodes of the show, but I can still critique things that I like.

In the scene above, Duck says a few lines to Ace about the "positives" of letting Melvin abduct Lexi. Later on, Duck makes comments about abandoning Lexi and dividing up her stuff. These parts are the worst parts of the whole episode, for these scenes weaken the previous interactions between Lexi and Duck.

I mean, Lexi and Duck go to New Chinatown together in the fifth episode of season 1!

Lexi and Duck care for each other.

Or at least, it is out of character for Duck to want Lexi to give herself up to Melvin without a second thought.

I think that it is fine to characterize Duck as callous sometimes.

I think that it's also fine for Duck to not be very smart either.

However, that doesn't mean that Duck wants to endanger others.

I keep ragging on Duck in It Comes From Outer Space because there are much better Duck-related episodes.

For instance, I love Cape Duck. This episode shows the more callous side of Duck's personality while still staying consistent with his earlier portrayals. Here, Duck does a press conference after claiming to have caught the Stomper.

I think that this scene works so well for two reasons:

First, Duck is clearly playing up his accomplishments. After all, he accepted the credit for capturing the Stomper, and so, he is using this opportunity to boost his social credit. Duck isn't maliciously targeting or endangering the other Loonatics here.

Second, the entire team can react to Duck's comments. In the scene right after the press conference, the entire team confronts Duck about what he says.

I want to analyze this entire portion of the episode since I have more to say about it; this section is already becoming lengthy...

My point is that Duck's portrayal in Cape Duck is much better than in episodes like It Comes From Outer Space. When Duck is written well, he is one of the most charming characters. However, when he isn't, he becomes one of the more grating characters to watch.

I really enjoy Duck's interactions with the others. I like the banter between Duck and Ace. They seem to have the strongest relationship besides Tech and Rev, and they genuinely seem to care for each other.

I don't know where else to put this, but here it goes:

Personally, I headcanon Duck as having NPD (narcissistic personality disorder). I think that his backstory as an orphan contributed to an unstable childhood environment. And I think that Duck didn't receive proper emotional support as a child.

I definitely don't think that the writers intended Duck to have NPD. Danger Duck is similar to Daffy Duck in this sense. I also headcanon Daffy Duck as having narcissistic personality disorder (especially in The Looney Tunes Show). It is heavily implied that Daffy Duck has some form of childhood trauma (Daffy doesn't remember anything about his childhood before the age of 15, his only clear childhood memories involve him and his grandmother). And it is quite easy to see how Daffy would have NPD (most notably in "To Bowl or Not To Bowl").

With that said, I would definitely like it if fanfic authors explored Duck's character more. Oftentimes, Duck is relegated to a comic relief in the fics that I've read. I would really enjoy it if more authors explored the possibility of Duck's NPD. And even if Duck isn't characterized with NPD in particular, I would still like to read more experimentation featuring this mallard.

As a final point...

4 — Lexi Bunny

I enjoy Lexi.

Honestly, when looking for screenshots of each individual character, I found it difficult to find a shot where Lexi was the only character in frame. I think that this says a lot about her character.

Lexi works very well in the presence of other characters. In most shots, Lexi is standing besides someone else. She tends to ask a lot of questions, and Ace or Tech tends to answer them.

I think that there are a few faults in her character. Most of these faults relate to Lexi being too archetypal. After all, Lexi was the only woman on a superhero team in a 2000's cartoon. There were a few moments where the writers relied too much on this archetype.

Typically, Lexi is the only character who makes comments about beauty.

I also noticed that Lexi was crushing on this one mountain climber in The Hunter.

Thankfully, Lexi's crushes/love interests didn't become a pattern or a running gag (thank goodness).

Lexi's character could have been WAY worse, so I am glad that her character managed to stay enjoyable in retrospective.

As a final point, I really like it when Lexi and Duck work together. I have noticed that Duck and Lexi are paired up a lot, and they are really fun together. I even like their smaller interactions.

For example, in Going Underground, Duck says "You tell him, sister."

I think that this scene is SO cute.

I wish that the canon explored more of Duck's encouraging side, especially towards Lexi. It would have been interesting to see.

Overall, I enjoyed Lexi's interactions, particularly with Duck as her foil. She's fun to watch.

5 — Ace Bunny

I am not an avid Ace fan. Generally, I enjoy his character, but at times, his screen time eats up the screen time of the others (most notably from Rev and Slam).

I do like the fact that Ace is competent at his role as leader.

At times, I really enjoyed Ace's implementation in certain episodes. Honestly, season 2 uses Ace a lot better compared to season 1. For instance in Cape Duck, Ace is the person who discovers that there were "two" Stompers (the actual Stomper and his mother disguised as the Stomper). To me, this reveal was really well done in this episode, and it shows Ace's strong perception skills.

I wish that we saw more of this part of Ace's character in the first season. Of the entire team, Ace improved the most from season 1 to season 2.

However, other than this part of his character, Ace isn't a particularly favorite character of mine.

I especially don't like how Ace treats Rev. It's really inconsistent. Sometimes, Ace is happy around Rev. For instance, at the beginning of Sypher, only he and Rev went to the game.

However, at other times, he is incredibly condescending to Rev.

I wish that Ace and Rev's relationship was more consistent. It would have been really cool to see their friendship more in season 2.

As a final note, I still am mad at Ace in the episode The Heir Up There.

HOW COULD YOU, ACE???

Lexi and Slam would NEVER.

6 — Slam Tasmanian

Slam was treated poorly in terms of writing.

The only real thing that stands out for his character is that he is strong and was a wrestler before the meteor crashed. Oh, and that he eats a lot. That's his only joke.

That's really all that the canon shows of him. This is a shame.

I like how the fandom has taken to Slam's potential softer qualities.

In canon, I don't have a particular fondness to Slam. I think he's cool.

I just wished that he had more defined relationships with the rest of the team. This is especially a shame when Rev is not on screen, even in episodes that I like!

For instance, in Cape Duck (shown below), Rev is barely on screen; meanwhile, Slam just stands on screen and does nothing.

Why is Slam on screen if he is not going to talk???

In general, Slam only really talks when he is prompted by Ace.

His character deserves more justice.

Also, my favorite villain is...

Ralph Runner!!!!!

(Okay, I am half-joking here. Although I don't think that Ralph Runner is truly a villain, I do think that The Family Business is such a compelling episode because of Ralph Runner's character. After all, the audience only sees a portion of Rev's home life.)

My favorite traditional villain is either Melvin the Martian or Mastermind. I've already explained in further depth in another ask. The short answer is that both villains required the team to work together instead of solely relying on Tech's weaponry or the Loonatics' powers. Also, their designs are cool.

Before anyone starts thinking that I was on a Desiree kick at this point, let me just say that this pic came to me as a request. This is a pic based on a fanfic idea that was pitched to me by a DA member, the basic gist of which is that Danny is talked into participating in a foolhardy mind-swapping experiment by Jack. But just as they're about to proceed, Desiree comes crashing through the Fenton Portal with Cujo, the Ghost Dog, looking to retrieve an item of Sidney Poindexter's that Cujo stole. As you can see, in either case, things don't exactly go according to plan, as Desiree and Cujo get their minds swapped instead. Throw in Sidney and the antics of the Guys in White and things are going to get pretty wild, pretty fast. For the record, this is actually based on a story that I haven't written yet. actually asked if I would be so kind as to write this story for his birthday. But since I was nowhere close to the point in my series timeline where this story would take place, I made him a compromise to draw this picture instead. I actually made a print of this pic for Rob Paulsen to autograph when he made an appearance at the 2014 Calgary Comic Expo and he was very pleased with it.  In his own words, "That's beautiful!".  I wonder if you all feel the same. ^_^

Uhhh. A sound Yakko sometimes makes as a kind of verbal tic.It was improvised by his voice actor

Yakko balloon incident. A Yakko inflatable balloon was displayed on top of the real life wb water tower to promote the show. However, when Bob Daley, who ran the studio at the time, saw the balloon, he thought that it was a misshapen Mickey Mouse and they were being attacked by Disney.

The Warner's ages. Revealed in the Talkin' Toons podcast . 14, 11 and 9 respectively

Cartoonus characterus. The Warner's species according to Tom Ruegger

Tier 2

Green ducks. Originally the show was going to star a family/group of green ducks. Eventually the team scraped the concept due to ducks being overused in cartoons

Yakky, Smakky & Wakky. A "prototype" of what eventually became the Warners. Yakky (who became Yakko) was the chatty one, Smakky the violent one and Wakky the weird one (this two were fuse together to create wakko). There was also a nameless female character that became Dot.

Brinky. The ship between Pinky and the Brain. Very popular amongst the fandom

Fandom Angst. Despite being a comedy show, the fandom tends to create lots of angsty fan works

Salad breadsticks soup. These beautiful images:

Milk fic. Angst fanfic called "Big Brother's Responsibility" that starts with Yakko drinking milk and having a mental breakdown because he had a fight with is siblings and is lactose intolerant. It became a running joke in the fandom

Minerva Mink fake unreleased shorts. For a long time it was rumored that more Minerva Mink cartoons were produced but never released. It was later revealed that these cartoons never existed in the first place, making them false lost media

Animaniacs bible. The show's bible ( a reference document used by screenwriters for information on characters, settings, and other elements of a project)

Cancelled movies. In 1995 there were plans for a movie ( Wandering Warners We) that was scrapped because of wb prioritizing space jam. This Means Warners (set in world war II), Revolutionary Warners (an adaptation of Oliver Twist) and Warner Land (in which the siblings harras santa) were also scrapped ideas.

Cut characters. Characters that didn't make it into the show. These include Bossy Beaver and Doyle (a beaver duo), The Fleas and Nipsy and Russell (a raccoon duo)

Animaniacs live. A concert musical live show where Rob Paulsen (the voice of Yakko and Pinky), Randy Rogel (one of the animaniacs songwriters) perform songs from the show.

Reboot concept art in cuphead art style. There is concept art made by Studio MDHR (the studio behind cuphead) of the Warners in a rubber hose art style.

Nickelaney. It references how the show's intro was butchered in the nickelodeon reruns by writing their name in the beginning, shortening the song and replacing all the variable lines with "nickelaney". It was so bad that apparently lots of at the time fans refused to watch the reruns. A similar thing happened with PATB

Yakko's boat. An image of Yakko with a toy boat that somehow became a meme (I remember seeing it mostly on Instagram)

Salppy dementia episode. Episode 83. Known for being the the most serious and emotional episode of all the series. Sadly it was largely based on Tom Ruegger's memories of visiting his aunt at a nursing home.

Axe fic. A fic called Soliloquy of Regret where Yakko starts killing people with an axe. The first half consists of Yakko slowly descending into madness and the second is about the animaniacs cast trying to stop the apocalypse. Unlike the milk fic that is just angst for the sake of being angst, the axe fic its so insane that ends up being entertaining (at least for me jajs)

Tier 4

1-855-HULU-FAN. At one point after the release of S1 of the reboot you could call this phone number to "talk" to the Warners (it was actually a prerecorded voice message)

Pay for play/pay or play contracts debate. The closed captioning in the og series mistakenly had the line as "pay for play" contracts instead "of pay or play". This sparked an online debate in the old fandom about which line was the correct

Hello Nurse is a secret agent. It's revealed in the comics.

Broadcast Nuisance delated scenes. Some parts of the episode were cut and redubbed because the warners were being too cruel

I'm mad theatrical version. The song was originally released as a theatrical short for Thumbelina. This version included additional title cards that are partially found lost media.

Album exclusive songs. Some albums included songs that weren't in the series ( I'll Take an Island, Several Drops of Rain, the Hello Song)

Pinky is a masochist. There are some instances were pinky seems to enjoy being in pain (though this is inconsistent throughout the show)

Buddy was real. In universe, Buddy was a character whose boring cartoons lead to the creation of the Warners. Turns out he wasn't created for the show, he's a real Looney Tunes character who was the lead star of Warner Bros. cartoons from 1933 to 1935.

Kathy Page Cowan credits running gag. During season 1 and 2 of the og series Kathryn Page (Tom ruegger's assistant) was credited with all sorts of random things as a gag.

Jesus episode. Little Drummer Warners (episode 49). The Earners sing a song to baby Jesus. I added it due to its more serious tone compared to other episodes and just because, aside from the episode where they go to hell, is the only instance where the Warners interact with a religious figure.

Six flags. In the 90s the warners made appearances as costumed characters at Six Flags Theme Parks.

Cancelled robot chicken sketch. It would involve the Warners doing edgy stuff. Apparently cancellation was partly due to the original voice actors refusing to reprise their role out of respect for their characters. As an additional fact, a few years later they made a PATB parody with Maurice LaMarche reprising his role as Brain. In an interview he admitted he regrets doing it..

Sakko Warner. Is the cousin of the Warners who appears in the 33rd issue of the comics.

The reason why wakko doesn't wear pants. Issue #42 of the comics is revealed that Wakko doesn't wear pants because it causes those around him to get hurt by random things.

alt.tv.animaniacs. A now defunct og animaniacs newsgroup that served as the main online gathering place for the old fandom.

Legion1979 (so sorry I messed up their name in the image). A Tumblr blog that analysed every episode of the og animaniacs, giving their opinion ands some interesting facts.

Animania IV. Fourth of the fourteen Animania fanfests held by the og fandom. It took place in early August 1995 when a group of participants in the alt.tv.animaniacs newsgroup decided to meet each other in Southern California. Hearing this, the producers at Warner Bros. Yeah, I know the iceberg thing is outdated but I made it as a way to look back at the show and the fandom one last time.

I took a break from animaniacs in the wait for season 3. When I came back I realized how much I had forgotten about the show and it kinda scared me. I decided to write these facts and fandom anecdotes just to have a reminder in case some day I forget.

This is it. I don't have hopes for a season 4 or any other animaniacs media. I'll probably stay here for another week. I don't want to get into personal stuff, so I'll just say that animaniacs was the best thing that happened to me in 2020. I'm going through some rough stuff so I'm glad I got the chance to watch these characters one last time. Even though my interest in the show isn't the same as it used to be, I still hold it very close to my heart ❤️

“Sorry I don’t have much else for you to wear.” Ruben said as he handed me a pair of sweats. “I really didn’t expect to get caught in the rain.” I smiled at him and leaned over to kiss him.

“it’s alright.” I assured him. “I don’t mind.” Ruben nodded with a small smile and blush. I went to go change while Ruben got us something to eat. I had a feeling that he was also setting up something for us to watch and making sure that stitch was comfortable as well.

“Oh. That looks good on you.” Ruben said when I walked back into the living room. “Yeah. Totally not going to stare at you all night.” I laughed and patted his arm as I went to look out the window.

“man it’s really picked up out there.” I said, wrapping my arms around myself. Stitch came up next to me and I smiled down at him before looking out again. “I didn’t know it was supposed to storm.” I mumbled. Ruben came up behind me and wrapped his arms around me.

“I think the weather just said rain when I checked at lunch.” He said. Resting his chin on my shoulder, Ruben leaned his head against mine. “I’m glad neither of us got caught in this though.” I nodded and leaned into him.

“me too.” I whispered. Ruben pulled back to dig his phone out of his pocket and pulled up the weather.

“it’s going to storm all night.” He said. “Flood warning in effect.” I frowned as I look in the storm raging outside. “I know it’s early but…” Ruben turned me around and cupped my cheeks. “I’d feel a lot better if you stayed here tonight.” I smiled at him and reached up to cup his cheek.

“aren’t you adorable?” I laughed before kissing him. Ruben pulled back, blushing and grinning like an idiot. “I’ll stay. I don’t exactly feel comfortable going home in this anyway so you’re lucky our thoughts aligned.” Ruben squeezed my hips before breaking away to feed stitch.

“sorry.” He blushed harder when I let out a laugh. “I’m scatterbrained at best. You know that.” I smiled fondly at him before climbing onto the couch.

“so what are we watching?” I asked as Ruben filled the water bowl as well. He started towards the couch but paused when his buzzer went. “Go get the food. I’ll find something.” I assured him. Ruben nodded before heading down to meet the delivery person. I saw him grab his wallet despite having paid on the phone. I looked over at stitch and smiled as he padded over to me. Leaning down, I scratched him behind his ears. “Daddy is very generous isnt he?” I asked. “Giving a big tip for bringing us food in the middle of this storm.” Stitch barked happily as I scratched under his chin. I grabbed a movie and started to set it up when there was a pounding on the door. I went to open it and chuckled as I grabbed some of the food from Ruben. “What did you do?” I laughed. “There looks like enough food to feed a small village.”

“I got a little bit of everything.” He admitted as he set the boxes down on the kitchen counter. I put my pile next to his. “Leftovers. Sometimes it’s easier.” Ruben shrugged. I laughed and shook my head at him as he smiled at me.

“Ruben, you’re a genius.” I teased as I started to dig through the boxes for something to eat. “Soda please!” I called as he went to grab something to drink from the fridge. He came back and handed me my drink before starting to get his own food. We went to the couch and sat down, looking at each other before starting to eat.

“how is it both times we’ve been on actual dates, I’ve had to provide you with food?” Ruben asked, covering his mouth so I wouldn’t see him talking with his mouth full. I laughed, covering my own so I wouldn’t spit on him or send pieces of food flying.

“I take it back. You’re not a genius.” I forced out. Ruben rolled his eyes at me but smiled as he ate. “that’s kind of how a date works Ruben.”

“I know that.” He waved his fork at me as the movie played in the background. “I mean why is it I’m making sure you eat? So far you’ve skipped dinner twice.” I nodded in understanding and shifted in my seat.

“gantu is an asshole. But he gets results that corporate wants. So they don’t do anything when he makes people work overtime for little pay to get shit done.” I said, slight venom dripping from my tone. Ruben nodded before reaching over and rubbing my arm. “It should be over by Friday.” I waved my hand dismissively. “Then the catalog goes to print and I’m done for the season. I occasionally update something on the website but otherwise he has no excuse to screw with me.” Ruben swallowed his mouthful.

“still shouldn’t give him the excuse.” Ruben scoffed. “But I guess if it’s until the end of the season, I can keep making sure you eat every night. As long as you don’t mind a date every night after work.” I smiled at him and shrugged.

“I wouldn’t…” there was a loud clap of thunder that had us both jumping and turning towards the window. There was a bolt of lightning and the power cut. Ruben put his plate down and grabbed mine before reaching out for me.

“stitch!” He called. The patter of paws signaled his arrival and stitch jumped onto the couch next to Ruben. He scratched behind stitch’s ear before leaning into me. “Three…two…one.” He breathed out and the tell tale sound of a generator kicking in made me frown. Ruben breathed a sigh of relief before kissing my temple.

“oh.” I breathed out as he leaned back against the couch. Ruben looked over at him and gave me a small smile. “Scared of the dark? Or storms?” I asked, leaning my head back on the couch. Rubens smile turned sheepish.

“a little of both?” He said with a shrug. “I don’t mind the dark. And I don’t mind storms. It’s just when it causes a power outage.” Ruben absentmindedly scratched stitch behind the ears again. “Part of it is just me being normal. The other part is as a business owner, I get a sinking feeling about my stock when that happens. So every store has a generator so everything stays up and running.”

“that’s smart.” I said. Ruben nodded before moving to grab his food again. He furrowed his eyebrows before turning to look at me again.

“why did you sound disappointed when the generator kicked in?” He asked. I blushed and turned my attention back to the food on my plate.

“I wasn’t.” I tried to wave it off. One look from Ruben and my shoulders sagged before I sighed. “Alright. I was. A little.” I looked over at him and shrugged. “Sitting in the dark, with a storm outside and only lit by candles is kind of…” I shrugged again and looked past Ruben to the window. “Romantic.” I finished before playing with my food a little. Ruben looked over at me, drinking halfway to his lips. He seemed to think for a second before putting the drink down and getting up. I looked up at him quizzically before he leaned down to kiss me. “What…” I asked as I watched him go to the kitchen and dig through his drawers. Stitch barked at being neglected and I reached over to pet him.

“I know I’ve got some better ones around here somewhere.” Ruben muttered to himself. “Just need to find them.” Ruben continued to run around his apartment while i watched him in amusement. After a while, he lit all the candles and turned out the lights. I laughed as he stood in front of me with his arms out and a big smile on his face. “Ta da!”

“so romantic.” I laughed as Ruben took his place on the couch again. We ate quietly, listening to the rain fall outside and just enjoying each others company. “Thank you.” I whispered as we pushed our plates away and I curled up against his chest. Ruben put his arms around me and held me tight against him. “You didn’t have to. But thank you.” Ruben shrugged before leaning down to kiss me. I cupped his cheek as he tried to pull away and deepened the kiss slightly.

“hmm.” He hummed in response. “If I knew that was the thanks I’d get, I’d have disabled the generator.” I smiled at him as I rubbed my thumb over his cheek.

“no you wouldn’t have.” I laughed. “But I appreciate the implication.” Ruben leaned his head against mine, closing his eyes to savor the moment.

“I could stay here forever like this.” He said softly. I nodded.

“I could too.” I pecked his lips and Ruben tugged me closer to him before laying out on the couch. I put my head on his chest and sighed happily. “Here’s hoping the power doesn’t go back on until late tomorrow and I don’t have to go in.” Ruben laughed as he rubbed my back.

“You could stay here all day. Just the two of us.” Ruben mused. “Have a real proper date. Maybe.”

“something wrong with the way we do dates?” I teased, propping my chin on his chest. I grinned at him as he played with the hem of my borrowed shirt.

“no. That’s what the maybe was for.” He teased back. “I like our dates. I just wish I didn’t have to make sure you eat every day. I will if I have to but I wish it was different.” I nodded before laying back down. Yawning, I wrapped my arm around his stomach and held tightly. Ruben tightened his grip on my and kissed my head. “It’s alright. Go to sleep. I got you.” Humming sleepily, I drifted off to sleep.

Pinky And The Brain go to a firework festival

It was a very special day, it was the day of the firework festival, and Pinky And The Brain were going to the park to watch the fireworks.

“Egad Brain, I am so excited to see the fireworks tonight! NARF!" Said Pinky excitedly as he raced around ACME Labs like a firework rocket.

"Yes Pinky, it's going to be amazing! I love firework festivals." Said The Brain as he got ready.

Once they got ready, they headed to the park to enjoy the firework festival.

When they got to the park, they spotted their voice actors, Rob Paulsen And Maurice Lamarche sitting down on the grass.

“Hi Rob! Hi Maurice!” Pinky and the Brain said Excitedly.

“Hi Pinky! Hi Brain!” Rob and Maurice said.

“Are you here to watch the fireworks?” Asked The Brain.

“Why yes we are.” Said Maurice.

“Hey, Mind if we sit with you two?” Asked Pinky.

“Sure you can.” Said Rob.

And then, Pinky sat down in front of Rob, And The Brain sat down in front of Maurice as they waited for the firework show to start.

5 minutes later, a firework rocket blast into the night, Pinky, Brain, Rob, And Maurice watched with amazement as the firework exploded, showering the sky in colorful rainbow lights.

The firework festival had begun.

"Ooh! Aah!" Pinky cried out excitedly as he saw the fireworks explode into beautiful multicolored lights.

Pinky turned and smiled at The Brain,

"NAAAAAAAAAAAAAARF! Look at all those colors! Isn't it pretty, Brain! They're so colorful!" Said Pinky happily.

"Indeed. It is quite a lovely display to look upon Pinky.” Replied The Brain, still mesmerized by the multicolored display.

As more firework rockets blast through the air, a loud cheer rang out throughout the park from people celebrating the fireworks.

As the fireworks continued, The Brain kept his attention glued onto the colorful display, watching the bright bursts go off, illuminating the sky for miles and miles.

He was completely enthralled as the colors danced across the sky.

His eyes were wide open as his mouth fell into amazement.

The Brain never knew something so spectacular could exist.

"Woah! How pretty." Said The Brain as he looked on, watching the multicolored colors shine brightly.

The explosions went off one after another as the sky filled with color.

Pinky Oohed and Aahed joyously as his eyes sparkled as well as the sparks.

"They are so beautiful!” Shouted Pinky as the fireworks went off, filling the sky with color.

"Oh yeah! Those really do look wonderful, don't they? The firework show sure does have some beautiful effects.” Exclaimed Rob.

"Mhm! I think the best part is watching the firework show. It makes me happy seeing the colorful display!” Said Maurice as he too looked up at the bright colors that lit up the sky.

"Ooh! Pretty colors!" Pinky shouted as he also looked up at the glowing colors in the sky.

"Yeah it does make my heart light up whenever I see them." Added Rob.

"The firework show is the most amazing sight I've ever seen. It gives me hope every time I see it." Said The Brain, looking at the beautiful lights in the sky.

Pinky sat in awe as they watched the firework show, watching the multicolored flashes in the sky as the colors illuminated the sky.

Pinky and The Brain sat there, looking up at the colorful displays that filled the sky with pretty colors.

“Ooh! Look at that sparkly one Brain! It’s so pretty!” Pinky said, pointing up towards one of the firework explosions in the sky.

“I agree, Pinky, that is a wonderful sight indeed.” Said Rob, nodding his head in agreement.

“Yeah! It’s a lot of fun looking up at the colors in the sky.” Explained Maurice.

“Yes, it is quite a spectacle isn’t it?” Answered The Brain, looking at Pinky, Rob, and Maurice.

“And look at the big finale going off!” The Brain said.

During the finale of the firework festival, huge golden fireworks exploded and sparkled in the sky.

And then, just like Japanese Hanabi, little explosions popped in the sky.

And then, a second later, loads of little fireworks crackled, and decorated the night sky in loads of pretty rainbow colors.

“WOW!” Pinky, Brain, Rob and Maurice yelled out in amazement as they stared up at the fireworks exploding in the sky.

“Ooh! So pretty!” exclaimed Pinky as he clapped his hands in delight at the colorful explosions in the night sky.

”It sure is,” said Rob smiling widely.

“So pretty. So pretty.” Said Maurice smiling as he watched the fireworks twinkling in the night sky.

“Look how many colors there are!” Pinky said to the Brain as he pointed upward, “Look at all those colors!”

The Brain loved watching firework displays. He adored the colorful lights popping up in the night sky.

And most of all, he loved seeing Pinky get so excited about the display.

He always wondered why Pinky loved the show so much, but he was glad that Pinky enjoyed the show so much because that made him happy.

Because he knew that Pinky loved fireworks.

But Pinky loved all things related to fireworks.

He liked the color and the smell of fire.

He liked the sound of explosions.

He liked to see them pop up in the night sky when they were in public places like parks, or in school, or during holidays.

Pinky loved fireworks so much.

He loved them so much.

He loved the explosions so much.

He loved the noise.

He loved hearing the whistles, crackles, bangs and pops of the fireworks.

And He loved the way they illuminated the night sky in loads of pretty colors.

And so, when the fireworks faded out, everyone, including Pinky, Brain, Rob, and Maurice, fell silent, and then, everyone started cheering and applauding, saying how pretty it was.

It was. It was amazing. It was so beautiful. It was so pretty.

And then, everybody started heading home.

“Egad Brain, Rob, And Maurice! That was amazing! What was your favourite part of the firework display? Mine was definitely the grand finale. that rainbow burst at the end was just so pretty! What about you all, what was your favourite part of the show? Pinky Asked still amazed at what he’d just seen.

“Well Pinky, My favourite part was everything. I enjoyed watching the colorful explosions in the sky, the beautiful colors, and the colorful lights. Not to mention that huge rainbow firework at the end. That was so pretty” Said The Brain as he stared up into the sky.

“My favorite part of the fireworks show was when the fireworks burst in the sky. That was the most magical sight ever. It was so beautiful. It was such a show of color. The rainbow explosions and the rainbow flames. it was just so pretty, Pinky.” Said Rob as he smiled happily at Pinky.

”Well, my favourite part was watching the finale when all those rainbow fireworks lit up the night sky. They reminded me of when I was growing up in Toronto, every year I would go out and watch the Canada Day fireworks at the Harbourfront. The fireworks we just saw tonight were so beautiful. And the rainbow firework at the end was so pretty!” Maurice said happily.

"That is wonderful to hear Maurice.” Replied The Brain.

“Well, me and Pinky have to get back to the lab now. It was so great to see you Rob and Maurice!”

“Goodbye!” Pinky and the Brain Said as they walked back to the lab.

“Goodbye!” Rob And Maurice Said.

Back at the lab, Pinky was watching video footage of the firework festival they just went to.

“Ooh! Aah! Pretty!” The Brain walked up to Pinky.

“I’m so glad that you enjoy the firework festival tonight Pinky.

Now come, We must go back to the cage and plan for tomorrow night.” The Brain said.

“Why?” Pinky asked, What are we going to do tomorrow night?

“The same thing we do every night Pinky,” The Brain said, 

“Try to take over the world!”

i don’t do shit like this about ever but a tmnt 2012 x SU au has been swirling through my head for a few weeks now 

also im not ~super~ into the tmnt fandom in general so im not sure if anyone’s done something like this before so

so basically they have aged differently and the backstory is entirely different, however i’m only going into the main 4 (+ splinter-) in this text post because im not putting people through any more of my incessant ramblings than they have to. splinter is supposed to be the rose figure, donnie is pearl (minus the whole thing where pearl had a crush on rose, that would just be weird), leo is garnet, raph is amethyst, and mikey is steven. 

!!THIS IS NOWHERE NEAR DONE OR PERFECT AND NOT EVEN HALF AS DETAILED AS I WANT IT TO BE!!

General Backstory

It’s the whole normal thing, but with a twist. Splinter was hit directly with the Mutagen, while Donatello got the largest splash of mutagen. Leonardo with a small amount, Raphael with a few drops, and Michaelangelo with barely any. Once they fully mutated, the amount of Mutagen they were hit by comes into play. 

Donnie

Donnie grows into a 19 year-old with extreme intelligence, and learns language and the concept of numbers and the system of definite existence within days. He was extremely attached to Splinter and was entirely devastated when he died. He serves as a father figure for the group and is always a bit more lenient when it comes to leaving the lair, especially when he’s with his brothers. When this is set, he is 29.

Leo

Leo becomes a 13 year-old with a limited view of life, he’s most definitely smart but he has trouble grasping things number-wise. He understands things Donatello can’t, like indefinite things. The concept of alternate possibilities and infinity come easy to him, but the idea of definite things stumps him. When this is set, he is 23. He decided to stay and help with Mikey, as well as extra help with getting supplies for Donnie, and he knows that Don could never finish raising another two children all by himself.

Raph

Raph, at the time of mutation, is 9 years old. He vaguely understands things, however he stays mostly quiet. Like a sponge, he absorbs information and could recite it like lines in a play, however, he lacks the comprehension of language to do so. When this is set, he’s 19. He needs lots of guidance from Leo and Donnie, however, he’s strong, but highly insecure.

Mikey

Mikey is the youngest by far, as when he’s mutated he’s as close to an infant as a mutated turtle can be. He’s supposed to be 2-3 months old at the time of mutation, if that’s of any use to you. What’s most crushing is that he’s got the most resemblance to Splinter, and Donnie takes note. He’s about 10 when this takes place.

~Storyline~

Just 6 months after they were mutated, Splinter dies in an attack by Shredder. Donnie is left to fend for them all, despite not knowing properly how to. About 10 years after their mutation, the Foot start causing terror in NYC. Mikey has to learn to use his strength, weapons, skills, and quick reflexes to make do. When Donnie is put out of commission after a bad accident and loses his leg, Leo and Raph are devastated. Mikey has to figure out how to take care of himself and his brothers, all alone. After about a month, Raph and Leo finally come to their senses and help Donnie make a cybernetic leg for himself. Mikey has a hard time adjusting back to his daily life with his brothers and ends up quite detached from his senior brothers. He finds comfort with his friends, April and Casey, on the surface. Donnie notices the change in Mikey, but doesn’t comment. Yet.

The Yakko Milk Fic is just an 8 chapter fanfiction posted on fanfiction.net from 2007 where Yakko drinks a glass of milk and starts having like, mental illnesses 😭😭 I’ve read all of it until the 8th chapter cuz it was way too long for me to continue dnskjska. The fic is called “Big Brother’s Responsibility” if you were wondering 😭

The Pinky Leg Fic is a fanfic from the 2000s-2010s (I forget when it was made) about Pinky getting his legged ripped off by a plan for world domination 😭 Its called “A Leg To Stand On” (I think) and it’s kinda short (it’s just 1 chapter). There’s also slight Brinky in it, but yeah. It was based on a “are you pondering what I’m pondering?” Quote where pinky replied with “I think so Brain, but isn’t it a miracle that this one grew back?”

How I feel about this character

OG Steelbeak was pretty funny, but not one of my faves like Megavolt or Negaduck; Rob Paulsen kills it at his stupid laugh, he’s just the best. I kinda liked that one comic arc where he teams up with DW but then it all went downhill. I really like New Steelbeak, tho his voice is a bit hard to get used to compared to Rob’s.

Every time he interacts with DW is so fucking funny, so I guess him lol. Launchpad with New SB would be kinda interesting too

My unpopular opinion about this character

OG Steelbeak never felt menacing to me, idk what people are talking about when they describe him like that, he felt like an Animaniacs character 

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

I would’ve loved to see him interact with the Fearsome Five or actually team up with DW. The former because he had marginally more brain cells than them combined, and the latter because I really like hero/villain team ups
