My predictions for 2025

(a little over the top but who knows maybe im underplaying it at this point)

Donald trump will find a way to ban gay marriage and pride parades ( if he hasn’t done that already)

Will make it literally impossible for anyone who isn’t a straight white man to get a job that isn’t just being a slave to amazon

No sex education, ever

Alter the history books to make America the hero’s of everything and indoctrinate children ( more than they already have)

No gay people in any media, censorship like that of Kuwait

Women will need to have a man/ be married/ have kids to access certain things

Remove democracy

Though he doesn’t seem like he’s some religious nut job, he will try and use Christianity to his advantage to manipulate people, severely restrict/ ban any other religions

Little to no funding to healthcare and education, funnel it all to war

Shut down history museums (ie, The jim crow museum)

Make new amendments & try to alter the olf ones

break the Geneva convention in some way

Try to start a war with neighboring countries and most likely fail

Try to start war with countries America is on bad terms with and most likely fuck everything up

Everything possible will be overlooked by the government

Every time a open up the news this feels like an underestimation man i cant come up with the ridiculous shit this man does

Speaking to right-wing online media personality Candice Malcolm with the website “Juno News” last week, Poilievre indicated he would, in his words, “depoliticize news media finance.” Asked by Malcolm to clarify if he would “get rid of that $600 million newspaper fund that Trudeau gave to newspapers,” Poilievre confirmed he will make unspecified cuts to news industry subsidies but is also interested in expanding which media organizations can access those funds.

I was thinking about the Boys recently, and how it does a really good job of showing how god awful society can be and the way in which they mock the right wing for their actions. It's a show that personally I really enjoy.

The problem is, the right wing don't understand satire and that this show isn't for them. And, personally, I feel it has emboldened a lot of people to act even more like dicks to others.

I've had conversations with people who don't realise Homelander isn't a hero. They can't understand why people don't like Homelander because he 'cares about America.' Not understanding that the only person he cares about is himself. The only thing he cares about is power, absolute power. He wants to take over America and make it in his own image.

He is a literal Nazi who was in cahoots with a literal Nazi (Stormfront).

But the right don't get this. They don't understand that the show is mocking them by showing how the undying love for Homelander, and the cult of personality, mimics the undying love that many of them have for Donald Trump and MAGA.

And this is ultimately the problem.

They seem to think this show is a how to guide for the right wing, when actually it's a 'this is what the world is coming to and it's scary.'

Whilst I love the Boys, I'm glad it's ending with Season 5. It will be interesting to see how the justify some of the things such as the concentration camps in the show.

Whilst Soldier Boy was an ass as well, worst thing they ever did was stop him from killing Homelander and his son.

Small town America is a torture chamber

Parents move to small rural towns so they can have total control of their children.

Control their flow of information, isolate them, abuse them.

No friends, no boyfriend, no fun.

Police and school likely to ignore abuse, or be ill-informed about the signs.

Deny kids opportunities, and a life.

Most of the neighbors are just as shitty. Most of the kids you’re in school with are also isolated and clueless about how badly they’re being abused, how abnormal their home life is.

Effortlessly, the small town silences victims and keeps them imprisoned. Psychopaths are allowed to get away with bad behavior while the authorities turn a blind eye; here, more so than other places, the abuser is allowed to win; and this impresses on the victim that the victim always loses, a warped lesson that may fuck with their head for the rest of their life.

A horrid display of quiet, lock-tight order, small town America.

And all disguised with a wreath of nice foliage.

Here, do not expect reason to prevail. Do not expect the truth to out. Not until it is too late. Or until after you are gone.

Right-wing conservatives keep saying that telling a nonbeliever they're going to hell if they don't 'repent' is totally okay, because "religious people have the right to express their opinions and beliefs even if it offends others".

But if you have the nerve to say eternal damnation is manipulative, abusive and a morally bankrupt concept, conservatives will freak out and accuse you of "going against their freedom of speech".

The amount of hypocrisy among right-wing religious conservatives is fucking nauseating.

I am seeing so many people, especially so many veggies and vegans, laughing at the horrific right-wing thing for “raw” (unpasteurised) milk.

Please don’t. This is massively increasing the spread of zoonotic diseases like H5N1 that could *easily* become human-human transmissible - with H5N1 that’s already spinning towards *will* become human-human transmissible, and while horrific conditions on farms, including how badly they treat their human workers as well as how horrific they are to the animals, are still the primary cause of that, this bullshit is *materially* impacting it.

These people feed the stuff to their kids, who are already major transmission vectors because of school conditions. They spit it out into vulnerable communities who don’t share their horrific views; I’m chronically ill and the amount of horrific utter bullshit like this that goes out into communities of people who have been let down again and again by doctors who dismiss very real symptoms of illness, who try it because they are desperate, and then die because they are medically vulnerable.

Ring-wing ideologies *materially* impacted our ability to fight COVID, and continue to do so, and it’s the most vulnerable people in society that paid, and are continuing to pay, for that. Now they are materially increasing our risk of even more devastating pandemics.
