Intro About ME 🫶🏻

I am 16 year old Queer Teen 🏳️‍🌈 and the reason I joined Tumblr is actually kind of embarrassing I joined Tumblr because while I was reading Nick & Charlie, it said Charlie had opened Tumblr and at that moment I completely forgot that Tumblr was still in use. Other than that though as you can probably tell I am a BIG fan of the Oseman Verse, I started reading Alice's books in 2023 after I watched Heartstopper. I practice witchcraft as well

I shouldn't have to be afraid to walk home from school in broad daylight, next to a busy street because people in my school keep trying to run over anyone visibly queer with fucking dirt bikes.

I'm so fucking tired of having slurs yelled at me (including the n word when both the ppl yelling it and me are white) and dirt bikes being driven up onto the sidewalk at me and knowing no one around us cares and no one would stop them if they actually hit me.

Might be a hot take at this point, but young queer peoples need for validation isn’t an attention seeking attempt to pull away from bigger issues. Humans need community, they need people, and they want to feel like people understand them. It’s easy enough saying to just ‘validate yourself’ and ignore other people but it makes me think maybe a lot of you skipped being a teenager at some point. The one most important thing to most teenagers is feeling validated. Feeling reassured. It’s why so many show off and disrupt in classes, or even act in bigoted ways to get a laugh from their friends.

Now imagine that as a queer kid. You can’t do any of that. Your classmates will make fun of you, your teachers don’t care and your family doesn’t accept you (in any way that might manifest). And all you want is to feel like someone believes you are what you say you are. That you’re not mentally ill or in a phase. There is a massive community of people online who might just be like you and they can tell you if what you’re feeling is real. If it’s VALID.

It’s easy enough to say as an adult to focus on other things, but being a teenager is one of the most lonely and isolating parts of your life. Everyone thinks you’re crazy and moody, you can’t move out of your social circle so you just have to deal with whatever gets thrown at you. As well as puberty and crushes (or lack of, if ur aro/ace). It’s the most confusing bs ever. Teenagers need someone in their corner. More than anything they want friends and community.

You don’t have to stop and validate anyone. You can keep talking about more serious issues. But don’t make jabs at young people who just want to feel fucking real.
