What's your favorite rifle for home defense

I shoot my mouth off all the time, would you really trust me with a rifle?

If you've got family, or at least don't live alone, the last thing you ever want to do is Spray & Pray. Rate-of-fire isn't as important as accuracy & stopping power.

Funny thing though, the one study I saw put a .22 rifle ahead of a 9mm handgun in stopping power.

Well. Not "Stopping power" but in likelihood of stopping an attack.

I'm thinking shot placement is the reason.

Self defense shooting is typically at close range -- "point blank range" for a rifle. Plus a rifle is going to give the bullet quite a bit more push than a revolver or semi auto handgun. But I bet it's shot-placement that is stopping attackers quicker with a .22 rifle than a 9mm handgun. It's *Way* easier to be accurate with a rifle!

Henry makes some BEAUTIFUL lever actions! Heard mixed reviews about them though, and maybe a lever action .22 doesn't sound reliable enough? Think about a Henry .327 for center-fire reliability.
