HI ANON!!!! to put it shortly i think it's a yes and no: not the best example but similar to the case of Misha/Mikhail Char Legwork (and maybe tingyun;/fugue in the case of some others)

considering the aeons that look over amphoreus (remembrance with its lightcones and memories, destruction with its pathsiders who have a tricky relationship with "death" and erudition with the simulated universe and its inorganic origins) & the similarities the world and its various elements seems to be having to genshin's tevyat, i am suspecting the world to be stuck in a cycle--

like how tevyat is stuck in a cycle of samsara and relives events over and over again (the abyss twin telling us to reach the end of our journey, our various encounters proving/showing us that we are following in the steps of the abyssal twin: ie: aranaras talking about this "golden nara")

my suspicions come from dreams tribbie and mydeimos had of their own mothers-- how the mother figures' voices were not mere memories but lead them forward- and how we accompanied tribbie's past self before she was divided into three- a space time anomaly. the place tribbie says that they reach at the end of their journey / or in the afterlife- a field of flowers, how she crafts a ship that carries them all over etc... from tribbie side of descriptions and visuals, simulanka from 2024's summer event in genshin (the ship, how its used to go to and from another world, the train tracks etc) resembles the ship she crafts to travel across amphoreus to spread the prophecy and see who else will join the cause.

considering summer events are always a big foreshadowing before the new nation in genshin (and i didnt say it here but one thing i'll always hand it over to genshin impact is how their foreshadowing is always a hit), simulanka coming before natlan, the reveal of the broken moon and broken simulation like sky that gives visual proof to the fake sky-- while all hoyo games are going forward with the "hoyoversing" as of late; i do find the coincidences/similarities between tevyat (esp simulanka visuals as of most recent) and amphoreus to be more than just a mere coincidence.

sure, they've been getting lazy and reusing same models for new characters but when it comes to the storytelling part of things esp with visuals, it's never just a mere coincidence. (i couldnt find the images i had in mind as of now but if youve played both games i hope you somewhat think of what i had in mind^^)

these as well as that field we see trinnon and tribbie's mother to stand over looking a bit too much like that field of intevyat flowers (native to khaenriah) that was the destination goal of the twins (the sea of flowers at the end)-- and how tribbie describes that afterlife-like place to be "the end of a journey", i do think, while for the sake of the story the characters will die- but in essence they wont.

sadly i didn't play enough hi3 to support my case with the flame chasers and elysian realm but, i believe amphoreus to be in a simulation-like state of sorts- not fully artificial like tevyat, but both equally isolated from the rest of the universe. so deaths there are not true deaths so long as their "simcards" / "souls" / whatever energy source they each have at their cores with their written "data" remains. to summarize hi3's elysian realm and flame chasers, the members of MANTIS' memories and feelings were all stored there, technically as simulations for a better lack of a word and it the end their data chips were erased/destroyed. (ig su can be an exception bc iirc he has entered a void/space that hasn't been found by anyone in aeons-- to quote the wiki:

as of now, though he can observe the entire galaxy he has lost his material body and only exists spiritually. hence, me calling him an exception.

enough of genshin and hi3 side of things but another hsr thing. spoiler alert in case you haven't done that world quest in the grove where you're basically asked to retrace the footsteps of flame reaver but when you do and finish it, this is the name of the achievement you get. the whole point of the quest is that it implies flame reaver knows the layout of the grove- that he was possibly there before. it also knows about mydei's weak spot (something he told only to phainon)

spoiler alert in terms of leaks ahead: but it is said that flame reaver is phainon. with these so far, it is most likely that the flame reaver is a past/different version of phainon and the one as we know is the current one of the timeline/cycle.

i know i did ramble a lot but considering fuli/remembrance being one of the residing paths/aeons over amphoreus, it does remind me of misha/mikhail char legwork (how misha is basically a memetic entity of his memories/dreams. a reflection of his youth and his ambitions to explore/to sail. in some ways, black swan's actions wouldn't fully fit into penacony quest but with amphoreus coming right after and it being accessible through the garden of recollection's mirror, i think part of her role was to serve as a preview for amphoreus as a whole) and that's why i think they are in a simulation-like state / trapped in a memory/mirror that rewinds/replays over and over--

(there are some say the reason TB hadn't died when castorice toucher them was because while arriving amphoreus, they also entered a memory chyrsalis like state by fuli's hands too / in a between life and death state of stagnance) we have more quests to go with but perhaps one phainon/kevin broke free or gained sentinence and is trying to destroy/break free of the cycle right now. the ongoing cycle state of the world might be a stellaron too- or maybe the world has entered a state of repetition as to protect it from the destruction/harm of stellaron's instability. i believe it's still too early to speculate further or reach a certain conclusion but what remains are the parallels between the "multiverse" and the undeniable connection of flame reaver and kevin which i think hints at an ongoing cycle / a stimulated world.

so yes, they will die, but not in the literal sense. and not unless their cores/souls are destroyed / their flames are put out in the process (as was the case with mikhail).

browsing stormlight art on tumblr and ran into a post about how different dalinars life would have been with a somewhat healthier childhood and i think someone tagged it 'kaladin adopts young dalinar au' or something

anyways i propose a Make Everybody Worse au. teenage dalinar and gavilar get dropped directly into formenos and unofficially adopted by feanor a few years before the flight of the noldor. they both participate in the First Kinslaying/Oath/Losgar and then feanor dies. maedhros adopts them and then thangorodrim happens. maglor adopts them for a few years until mae gets rescued. they participate in the first few decades of the wars of beleriand, after which they get dropped back into the middle of alethkar.

on the noldorin side of things, m&m assume the random children they sort-of adopted (300some years before Secondborn were awakened) got killed somewhere in the battle. the kidnap fam situation now has the additional context of m&m having known even more pairs of children who died because of the Oath - one pair killed in the Second Kinslaying, one pair who presumably died in battle because they swore the Oath

on the alethi side of things, dalinar & gavilar are now Oathbound kinslayers who just lost five-to-ten parental figures and all their friends, and spent most of their lives being actively encouraged in war and military strategy. they also skipped the entirety of the navani-related conflict and are probably somewhat closer because of that. violence ensues.

not sure what you mean by cdreams arguement and not your opinion I can't find anything in that vod stating his perspective on suicide but I do see now that it could have been about vikk. The reason I and many people assume its about his suicide specifically is because of how desensitized he is to death and how he know how painful death is. I know the ''I know how painful death is'' line could have been referring to c!tubbo taking his final life, but the way he phrases it to me sounds like he has experienced it countless times before and gone to limbo many times. And why wouldnt he test suicide revivals, it would make sense for his character to off himself for the sake of finding out knowledge that maybe killing lazar and vikk or others couldn't provide. And yeah the ''death by revival book'' i said was written at like 5 am i was not writing properly

That was more so me telling people to not misconstrued my words and take me talking about Dream’s argument where he uses the Revive Book to highlight how Tommy’s suicide would have been meaningless to mean that I personally think in any sense that suicide is meaningless (as there have been people who came for my head, taking these types of statements and using them to say that I’m unempathetic and such…) which is really besides the point.

I mean you can absolutely take his statement like that. That is entirely reasonable and I follow the logic, my designs for stages duo has them having white strands of hair for their many deaths after all [Dream & Punz]. But I will also say that that statement in particular is to highlight that Tommy isn’t unique in experiencing pain or death, since Tommy tends to have this delusion that he is the only one who can get hurt. And based on Dream’s words we know that he has died at least once before. So he really does know how painful death is, and is highlighting that Tommy knowingly causing his painful death just yesterday. But I also think Dream perhaps experienced things more painful than death so him being desensitized to it would make sense in that way as well…

Why wouldn’t he test suicide to learn more about death? Because it’s unnecessary and risky. And also though I think prison give us the impression that Dream has little self preservation, I’m starting to wonder if that’s not entirely true either. Because the way I see it is if they only tested if the book works after prison [post], then that highlights that Dream was very naive going into staged finale and prison. That the book was really truly his very last card to be spared by the server. And that naiviness I think means then that perhaps it’s not that his self-preservation is poor, but he was too trusting. Which honestly more so aligns with what we see of his behavior anyways, isn’t it? Throwing bombs from the sky, always wearing armor, using other people like Wilbur to achieve his goals… etc like he doesn’t seem to just go out and risk dying and be uncaring about getting hurt. So perhaps he does actually want to avoid pain and suffering, that he didn’t knowing or intentionally put himself in a torture box, and if that’s true then maybe killing himself over and over wouldn’t be very in character after all.

Not to mention, that based off Dream’s own definition of Limbo that it changes based on all of the circumstances surrounding their death, meaning that you could kill yourself with the same knife in the same spot and Limbo could change. In which case, it seems rather pointless to study in the way we have assumed because you’re never going to discover every Limbo. And why would studying Limbo help answer the questions of the world anyways. It just doesn’t seem important to me in the grand scheme of things when mind control and the End are apparently also somehow connected to the book…

But in general it’s not that I can’t see why you’d make this assumption, it’s a reasonable assumption to make. One whose strongest argument would actually probably be this line from Dream:

“But we haven't tested… is somebody being selfless and dying a hero. We don't know anything about that because… we—can't test that because we're evil, we're so bad and—murderers—bla bla bla, whatever—who cares. But… We can test that now.” [clip]

Implying that they are not heroic enough to test dying a hero themselves. And yet, that point is oddly not the one I’ve often seen people use. XD However, this is also part of his set up for the bs saw trap thing and staged duo lay on their villain roles here real thick, so can we really take his words at face value? I don’t know, you could make an argument both ways…

At the end of the day, my point isn’t to say you are wrong or that your assumption is a bad one. My point is only to highlight that there is just as fair and reasonable, maybe even more reasonable, of a case to be made that these experiments are not what we as a collective have assumed them to be this whole time, and what does that say about staged duo’s relationship? What would that look like? What are the other possible outcomes, circumstances, answers that could apply if we make a different assumption?…

DEATH AS REDEMPTION. some things cannot be forgiven. what a shame, then, that so many consider forgiveness to be the be-all, end-all of character redemptions. or that forgiveness in itself is the redemption. whatever sins you committed, whatever actions weigh your soul down, the author has decided that you cannot make up for it . . . and so they will not let you try. no, you will not even be allowed to try and put as much positivity into the world as possible. ( you cannot restore the balance, but surely you could do something? ) instead, there is only one thing to do: sacrifice yourself. you'll take a bullet meant for the hero, or tackle the villain off a cliff ( dooming you both ), or you'll use the last of your magic to get everyone else out safely.

when the heroes speak of your death, they will act as if you have undone all your wrongs, as if dying was the holiest gift you were capable of giving. i cannot help but wonder . . . how much more could you have done, if you had only been given the chance?
