Hey everyone, recently I've been in contact with @siraj2024, who's family has been forced to relocate 6 times since their home was destroyed at the beginning of this violent occupation, and their current tent has little to sustain them. His 3 young children have had their childhoods stolen from them, spend their days hauling water over long distances & maintaining the tent to guard against sickness & disease. Even then, what ever water they might manage to obtain is likely to be polluted with disease, just another danger amidst the ongoing danger and death that has become inescapable in Palestine. Right now Siraj is looking to rebuild his home in order to bring stability and safety back into his family's lives. Before this can happen, however, Siraj is attempting to meet an initial goal of 10k CAD in order to safely relocate his family during this terrifyingly violent time. Not only have I personally been in contact with Siraj, but this campaign has been vetted & verified by @nabulsi and countless others, so PLEASE don't hesitate to donate & boost this post. Hi, guys.

As some of you already know, I've been communicating with Farah (@farahmoo2) as she and her family struggle to survive in Gaza. She has been dealing with challenges no one should be expected to handle, especially as a teenager, including, most recently, trying to get her funds from gofundme transferred.

Dish soap costs $50. Repairing a tent costs $600. A barrel of water costs $40. Food insecurity is at an all-time high.

Did you also know that Farah loves vampire shows? And that her favourite show is the Walking Dead,

(she loves Rick/Michonne so much!)

and her favourite movie Divergent?

That she has five sisters whom she loves very much? That she loves music, and really wants to go to Europe? And that her favourite book is "I missed a prayer"?

The internet in Gaza was cut for hours during the showers yesterday and today, but she was eventually able to update me on what's been happening. Farah is doing the best she can in her current situation, but she really needs your continuing support. We have only raised €15 today, and overall sitting at €5,726, despite trying to get to 10K since Sep 6. Even with the showers, Gaza is still hot, and she is struggling with not only floods, and but also temperatures in the high 20s-early 30s (Celsius)/ low-high 80s (Fahrenheit). That's with no air conditioning, no fans, and no running water. Oh top of that, she also has to walk for an hour to get to an internet spot outside her neighbourhood so she continue campaigning here everyday. With a wound on her leg that hasn't been properly treated in over a month.

Imagine you’re a young boy. Your parents died very recently, which has left you and your two younger siblings on your own, and to provide for them, you resort to thievery. One day, you break into a pretty big house, and while you’re sneaking about trying to find something worth stealing, you stumble across a gorgeous book. You study it, intrigued—but as you never learned to read, you can’t understand a word of it. While you’re distracted, though, you’re discovered by the owner of the house—but instead of reacting like a normal person would upon being robbed, he sits down and starts teaching you how to read the book, doesn’t turn you in to the police, and then adopts you and your siblings.

Years pass. When you hit high school, your adopted dad enrolls you in a pretty prestigious private school, and you do very well—you’re very intelligent and do very well in your classes, and you make great friends who don’t judge you for your past. There are three things you’re known for in this school: 1) that you’re more than a bookworm, you’re a book dragon, 2) you can make a mean panini, and 3) your friendly-boy swag. You’re the class’ resident cinnamon roll, and everyone loves you. There are some odd things about this school, of course—your teacher is a new hire, and she doesn’t seem that much older than you? And it turns out, the class president is an irl celebrity.

But all in all, you’re having a good year. Until your adoptive dad gets convicted of planning to murder your principal and is killed resisting arrest? You’re obviously devastated, half in-shock that your dad could ever do such a thing, half-convinced that he must have been framed or been being used, but what can you do about it? You’re just a teenager.

The year goes on, and you’re doing alright, but other odd things keep happening. There’s a lot of political unrest, a lot rumors flying about (the class president has a crush on our teacher? No way, that has to be fake), but you try to keep your head down and mind your own business. You make more friends, you do well in school.

And then, at the end of the school year, after a very odd field trip, a girl from one of the other classes publicly announces that she’s planning to murder your principal (was she involved with your dad’s death???) and vanishes, and then your teacher dies in a freak accident.

A few more years pass. You’re doing alright—you’ve got custody of your younger siblings now, but you’re responsible, and they’re doing just fine. One day, you remember that you made a heat-of-the-moment promise to attend your high school reunion, and while you’re not sure whether anyone will attend, a promise is a promise. So, you leave your siblings with a babysitter and head off towards your school.

Upon arrival, surprise, you find that everyone came—including your former teacher, very alive (and having dyed her hair), and your former class president, who you find out is now a serial killer. And still came to the reunion.

All of this to say, Fire Emblem: Three Houses from Ashe Duran’s perspective is wild.

oh i also saw your twins kamuhina au art (incredible) and wondered if you've ever read the fic 'The Hinata Days' by crackerjackermackeral on ao3? if not, it's about twin-brothers-main-course-izuru and reserve-course-hinata, where Izuru is an eccentric apathetic dependent-on-hajime little guy while Hajime tiredly tries to keep him in line. It's really funny and light-hearted, so check it out if you want!

Firstly, I want to say, THANK YOU!! This is such a high compliment! I'm always so glad that people enjoy my art! I draw purely for fun and post what I draw equally for fun, so it's nice to see people enjoy things that I enjoy making. I love experimenting with new styles and colors, hence my latest drawings. That's what I love most about art.

As for your fic suggestion, I'm reading it right now! And this is SO up my alley! I looove the twin dynamic going on here, it's just perfect. These fucking lines are cracking me up.

I’m new to the asoiaf world. Watched both GOT and HOTD recently, and I’ve started the main asoiaf books (currently only on the first). But I didn’t realize there was so much supplemental reading material. Is there a specific order I should read all of this in? I feel overwhelmed to say the least lol

oh swag! so there is really just fire and blood (which hotd is based off of) and a knight of the seven kingdoms (3 short stories set like 150 years before ASOIAF about ser duncan the tall and egg his squire both of whom are related to several characters in the main series.) finish the main series and then go read Dunk and Egg . fire and blood you can kind of skipped unless you really like everything happening and I really interested in the Targaryen’s. but have fun with the main series first it’s good!

Good to see when one is aware of one's branding ;)

nutmeg ⇢ how’s your room/home decorated? do you have a specific theme or style going on?

my bedroom is kind of a mess and will be for the foreseeable future because it's just kind of being used as storage at the moment rather than decorated. I spent the whole holiday monday moving those damn blackout curtains and my mum is still like "wouldn't drapes be better?" like ma i am working with what i already have and can afford and they do not make drapes short enough for those windows and i am no longer in possession of the sewing machine because you all took it back out of province with you aaaaaaaaaaa

but apart from the ugly but lifesaving curtains and half the bookshelves in the house being crammed into my room I try to have a few personal touches (fairy lights, a nice framed star wars poster). Most of the conscious thought goes into my office.

I'd say it's an eclectic mix of sci fi posters and local art (both mine and others) and a bunch of knicknacks both recent and from childhood. It's not so much themed as just a reflection of my life (and i also keep getting edmonton swag).

i SUPPOSE i can show pictures but be warned its mostly just me like "gotta get stuff off the floor" and not much in the way of serious thoughtful design (which requires some money and some talent). There is some feng shui though to try to balance out the "idk what i am doing" chaos.

this is like the gay trek/who shelf i guess?? (ignore the calgary flag that's not real)

the star wars shelf (c3po is filled with orange pekoe so that's c3pekoe) and the eclectic plant collection (some of which belongs to @quatschmachen). They're hanging out here because i blacked out my office windows during the heatwave.

i keep getting these model valley line lrts and they have to live SOMEWHERE okay

tbh now that i have many of these i am thinking of rearranging them in rainbow order but i love them sooo much.

I do have piles of art that needs to be framed languishing in drawers and stuff but that's for Later. enjoy :)

My copy of Devil Venerable Also Wants to Know just arrived! I'm so happy, this is one of my favourite books. (I can't actually read this copy because it's in Chinese and I can only recognize maybe 100 characters on a good day but I'll get there eventually!)

And it came with some unexpected swag, including a tiny short story! Which I'm not shy to say made me very very happy 😍

The cover is gorgeous, the book feels great in the hand - I like the paper which feels more like proper book paper than some other novels I've had in hand recently, and all in all I'm just filled with glee.

Monster Of The Week Ranchers Au:

Okokokokokok this au is based on small town that besieged with so much supernatural shenanigans that Jimmy the chosen one that wants to just be a normal dude and play his Cowboy esque character in his dnd campaign has to be forced to put on his destiny pants and save the town and sometimes the world every each weekend or so.

Jimmy is very much “I JUST WANT TO BE NORMAL” type of fated main character.

Tango who is his main love interest is literally a cryptid in the woods that legit falls in love with Jimmy at first interaction. Is actually dangerous but literally all he did is rummage tents for marshmallows and beer. Is highkey feral and is one of the first ones to join the bust the supernatural gang.

Grian is the brother of Main Character Jimmy that thought he would be the chosen one but destiny is a bitch making him a petty fucker for the first arc because Jimmy took his job in his eyes.

Scar is literally a dude that comes from a family of magic users that is heavily tied to the dark secrets of the small town but is the black sheep of the family despite being unironically the most powerful of his generation in his family.

when i met with my old english teacher we talked about the recent book bans especially after the principal threw him under the bus after a parent complained about his syllabus selections. dude is a great english teacher. he’s got a couple state and district awards, was always super engaging. anyways im mad because its too risky to teach v for vendetta for his comics unit but he’s replacing it with nimona which is swag

so i really have been meaning to watch good omens but i never got to it, and so finally recently i made myself read the book (which i adore omg!!! so many things to say, i may have to read it again) and i just FINALLY binged the show with my friend!!!!
