So the other TFONE Prime cards came out, so what I’ll do is just cover the ones I don’t have much to say about here.

First up Solus Prime.

Solus has had the weirdest design philosophies. This design seems to be primarily based on the Prime Wars webseries look.

Which is the superior design vs her original look which has this weird HR Geiger Species vibe I’m not fond of.

Solus’ primary claim to fame is being the first female Transformer, and the only one among the Primes, making most of the famous weapons in the general lore, and pry most tragic: getting shot by The Fallen and dying. Her body serving as the basis for the Well of Allsparks, meaning she functionally given birth to all Transformers going forward. There’s a… lot to unpack there, not helped is shows like RiD15 and Cyberverse use her name as an exclamation/cuss in “Sweet Solus Prime!” Unlike the older lore, ONE Solus dies by Sentinel’s actions, absolving Megatronus of the matter, which honestly I kinda prefer. Whether Solus and Megs were romantically involved here is unknown. I think what I’m most surprised by is the movie resisted giving Elita Solus’ Cog, since I guarantee older stuff would’ve done that. Outside of both being girls tho’, Solus does fit Elita’s hard working personality more than Alchemist and Onyx.

Nexus Prime

Not gonna lie, I’m kinda disappointed about this one. His gimmick is he’s the first Combiner, which again contradicts Aligned’s claim Amalgamous is the first converting robot with the first Cog. The ONE design pushes it more into a G1 Blitzwing direction, with vestigial nods to the combiner idea in that he looks to combine from a jet and tank in particular, again mirroring Blitzwing.

Though it also could be a reference to Flywheels.

Nexus Prime’s original designs nevertheless make his Combiner gimmick expressed more clearly.

So it feels like a bit of a downgrade to me. His gun shield looks like it formed from a tank component to me, but that could be a stretch… Maybe he really IS a Duocon in this universe.

Liege Maximo

If there’s one thing Liege is known for, it’s not having a consistent design.

As we’ve gone from whatever this is supposed to be…

To Loki because the MCU was really popular back then.

The new design still uses Marvel Loki as the basis, but dials it back considerably, instead making him more of a generic knight. Notably the inclusion of a sword is interesting, as Aligned states his weapons are poisonous Legion Darts. Maximo’s initial concept painted HIM as the first Decepticon, of which Megatron and the others are descended from, an evil being created by Primus to counterbalance the first Prime via G2. Because Megatronus later inherited a lot of this, he instead was cast as more of a manipulative trickster, still evil, but not to the same extent as his G2 version was. Liege Maximo is also the Prime of false starts, as his G2 and IDW selves were set up as the next major villain but cancellation saw this unresolved. G2 Liege Maximo saw conclusion in what was unofficial fan fiction written by Furman, while IDW Liege Maximo was unceremoniously killed by Shockwave-Onyx in the main book. His only role that saw a proper conclusion was in RiD15, where he was the villain of the day in a chapter book causing problems for the Autobots because he was bored in the Prime Realm and wanted a cheap thrill. RiD is also the only place his Loki like characteristics were played around with. Because the Primes in ONE appear to all be benevolent, it’s not clear if Megatronus or Liege Maximo are still supposed to be the evil ones or not, but the more heroic looking Liege says no to me.

Amalgamous Prime

The mad lads finally made this horrifying thing work.

Pushing it into a four armed ED-209 direction is much better, and frankly going by his more “primitive” build, they can easily make future Shockwave toys into Amalgamamous. This guy’s claim to fame in the modern lore is being the first actual Transformer with the first Cog, which again is contradicted by Nexus and (possibly) Onyx also being able to Transform… Aligned lore says his Cog informed all future robots on Cybertron of the ability to Transform, but ONE streamlines it that ALL the Primes had Cogs and the ability to Transform, making Amalgamous somewhat redundant. Aligned also claims his direct descendants are “Shifters”, Transformers with omni transformation, rather than the standard robot to vehicle.

Aligned didn’t really do much with this concept because you can’t realistically make a toy of such a thing nor is it feasible to have them as reoccurring characters for both expenses and being OP, with TFP Makeshift and RID15 Pseudo being depicted as shadow creatures in their default mode. The Shifters haven’t returned post Aligned so I think it’s an abandoned concept. Future stuff I would assume would instead say Triple Changers and Six Changers are AP’s direct descendants since they’re much easier to work with in toy and fiction. His new Robot Mode makes me think he turns into a tank, but I’m also not sure if his head is his chest or not….

Vector Prime

Aside from his head and colors, the TFONE version is straight up the original Galaxy Force version.

Though his colors evoke one of Vector Prime’s influences, the Marvel G1 Last Autobot.

Vector Prime’s best known role is in Cybertron/Galaxy Force, where as the Primus appointed guardian of time, he joined the Autobots of the present day to find the Cyber Planet Keys to close the Black Hole that threatened the universe, as it was the end of time. Galaxy Force also showed Vector Prime can manipulate time, but it was a drain on his energy, and using it too much would kill him. Notably he used a brief display of this early on to save the kids and Mini-Cons from certain death, but I guess this version of Vector couldn’t do the same to defeat Sentinel & the Quints…

there is not very much about these characters (particularly taniot) but i’ll do my best!

eldred greenbriar, son to clovis greenbriar, and grandson to mab greenbriar. val moren is his lover, and taniot is his consort and mother to dain greenbriar, eldreds 3rd born child and 2nd son.

madoc says that in eldreds youth/younger days, he was a bloodthirsty sort of king, and that he did not allow “little fiefdoms” like he did in his elderly years.

as for his personality, i sort of imagine him as this wise, wary of life, old perv (LOL sorry) even tho i’m sure that’s not accurate. i just find it hard to imagine him having so many consorts (oriana,liri,asha and undoubtedly more) in his elderly years. either bro was a silver fox (ik he has corn colored hair but still a dilf ((or perhaps a gilf) is what i mean) or consorts are simply indifferent to his age(and aged appearance), and want to please their king (or gain some status or power, like asha)

he has 6 children, which for a faerie, is a LOT. jude says that most faeries don’t ever even have children, so obviously we can assume that he gets around a lot, or atleast he certainly did in his youth.

another note, and this could be nothing but i like speculating abt when he first started having children (but i overanalyze since faeries cannot lie and so everything they say must be taken literally) but he calls balekin “child” which could refer simply to the fact that yes, balekin is his child, or that balekin is significantly younger than him, and hasn’t reached that “adult faerie age” (whatever age that is) or (most likely) that balekin is acting like a child LOL.

he gives all of his consorts who bore him a child a string of emerald necklace (sugar daddy vibes, also another reason as to why he could have had so many consorts/ lovers)

it is to be noted that there is a difference between lovers and consorts, being a consort is like a job, whereas a lover isn’t really a status, more like a fling or a string of flings (which is what asha was. not a consort)

anyway, when cardan is born and him and baphen (the star prophet guy) go to see him, baphen tells eldred that cardan will be a menace pretty much, so then and there eldred just don’t gaf abt cardan.

“looking upon prince cardan was like looking at an uncertain future, so eldred avoided it” (not word for word but prologue of qon.

he was prob looking for a reason to cast him out cardans entire childhood, which is probably why he didn’t listen when cardan denied his killing of val morens lover.

we know that eldred had orbs that contained memories of his children in their youth, in one of them contained dain, elowyn and rhyia shooting apples, baby balekin, and another that contained baby cardan being neglected and learning from his mother that the only way to get attention was to hurt. apparently he cherished these memories, i can’t think of any other reason he would have kept them, except if they were gifts.

from the orb of cardans abuse, we can assume he probably has this really twisted outlook of family, that he doesn’t gaf abt cardan, and only views his children as political opportunities. seems like he probably only kept having kids bc 1, he needed an heir, 2, they were accidents, 3, he prob kept having them (and not getting rid of them the way dain did) to try to have as many options for a high ruler replacement and 4, again, the political advantages of having children that can charm the princess of the undersea, and etc.

now, we know he had laws in place to protect mortals to an extent, unfortunately we don’t know the details but we can assume they probably weren’t that great since mortals are treated like garbage more often than not BUT madoc says a lot of mortals are also treated well (coins in their pockets and such) but madocs idea of well is yk pretty iffy.

lastly, dain and his influence on eldred. we know dain was slipping eldred small amounts of poison to make eldred seem like it was his time to relinquish the throne to him, and we know dain was manipulating him into thinking all of his other children were out to get him and that he couldn’t trust them, (doesn’t sound that hard to convince him since balekin was doing that as well as dain) so dain must’ve had some dirt on caelia or rhyia that he shared w eldred (won’t go into that i already did a dain analysis 😭) but to me, it sounds like eldred was weak and desperate to just die already, or as the fae say it. “seek the land of promise” so he was willing to just believe it and let dain be king.

as for him being a father, the way his children tiptoe around him, the way they do as he says, and the way caelia protected him on dais, i believe his children grew to see him as weak, but were always too afraid to speak against him, and maybe just enjoyed the spoils of being royalty. this is just speculation, but it seems like there is a lot of manipulation and neglect on eldreds part obv, toward his children. based on a lot of factors, like how eldred threw cardan out of the palace, then expected him to be a proper good prince at dinner time when he was older, and the way caelia seemingly wanted his favor very much (see my princess analysis) etc, it seems like the relationships with his children are very hot and cold, he can favor them one second then throw them out the next. also the fact that he is high king, so he probably didn’t take the time to raise them himself and left them to a midwife, the mother, or just on their own.

as we see in tpt, rumors and little things affect cardans and oaks relationship very much, and eldred learned to distrust all of his children bc of dain, so we can assume that he didn’t think very well of his children, and didn’t have good relationships with any of them besides dain.

unlike the rest of his children, dain took advantage of eldreds growing weakness, seeing as dain had balls enough to start screwing his consort and to start poisoning and manipulating him.

moral of the story, eldred seems like a feeble old man, who is an abusive, deadbeat asshole, who only sees his children as vessels into political advantages. as for when he was younger who knows. maybe one day holly will write a short story about him(def not gonna happen).

onto val moren, val moren says that in his youth, eldred rode up to him on his horse and whisked him away to faerieland (kinda hot i would go too) but only after some serious manipulation. val moren says that he was so taken with him, that he would’ve burnt down his own families farm and mill just to have eldred touch him again. typical faerie x human stereotype ig

so they were lovers. eldred made val moren promise to renounce his humanity and act like a faerie for the rest of his life, which he agreed to do (sounds like grooming to me!) and then became his seneschal down the line.

also down the line, val moren had a mortal lover, and when dain killed that lover and framed cardan, val moren lost his mind and went mad with grief. years later he still blames cardan and “glares at him across the dinner table” according to cardans novella lol. poor guy been thru it

now at the dais, val moren is forced to crown balekin, and he’s all afraid, since his sugar daddy is freshly dead, killed by his own son. and now that eldred is gone it’s sorta like the one faerie that sorttaaa had his back and took him away to faerie land and probably like hand fed him berries or smth, isnt there to protect him anymore.

it’s also sad that he thinks that cardan killed his mortal lover and now balekin, who is like the older eviler version of cardan in his eyes, is killing his lover again.

after he is seneschal, and jude has replaced him, they have a little mortal heart to heart, except not rly. “i was fully grown when i came here” which is his explanation as to why he didn’t help Jude or Taryn, so ig he just didn’t understand them and he didn’t try to. yadda yadda yadda! he don’t like jude and he offers shitty faerie advice, then pities her when she’s all like “but eldies dead now! u don’t have to keeep acting like u ain’t got no humanity babe! our promise don’t mean shit!” bc ig he thinks that any human that lives amongst them oughta renounce their humanity too bc he prob thinks it’s the only way to make it, to survive living w them.

and he’s all like “damn i feel bad for u! never make a promise w those sneaky faerie fuckers! not a sexy one, not a funny one, not a small one or large one, and def not one that sounds pretty good!”

then later on says to jude “learn to juggle better than i did” which was referring to his job as seneschal, but i also included the fact that he has to juggle being eldreds lover, seneschal, lover to a mortal, all while trying to act as though he no longer had any humanity. then he went bat shit crazy w grief so there’s also that he had to deal with.

so yeah. he seems AWFULLY wary of faeries and their crap, and while it also seems he loved eldred, it seems a lot like a very painful sort of love.

i do think it’s sweet that he had a human lover despite renouncing his humanity, shows that faeries too can love humans.

now onto taniot. if you do not recall, taniot is dains mother, who i believe is only mentioned and shown once and it’s at her death scene. sad. now, taniot, being dains mother, the future high kings own mother, you would think that she would be well cared for and def not sacrificed at all.

wrong!

taniot is the 3rd to die on the dais, as balekin shows the crowd what it means to be lover of the high king, to be a pawn on the kings chessboard. to be used, and once fulfilled their duty, cast off the board.

before her untimely death however, she attempts to save elowyn, by staunching elowyns wound with her dress. then as she’s about to be killed, she clasps her hands together and in jude’s monologue, “goes to her death gracefully as though she has already passed onto the realm of death.”

she definitely saw this coming i would say. she probably knew what a monster she birthed, and if not that, then she knew what it meant for her to have borne the king his second son.

upon rereading her death scene, dain dies before she does, so maybe she loves dain enough to not see life as worth living without him, which explains the graceful, accepting way in which she dies.

since dain is 3rd born, she’s pretty fucking old. she’s probably seen the deaths of many lovers and consorts, perhaps knew of the cause of liriopes own demise, and definitely saw how asha was thrown into the tower of forgetting.

it sounds to me like she was tip toeing around eldred since bearing him a child. it’s almost like the things that have happened to other lovers and consorts are like warnings to her and the other mothers of the greenbriar family, perhaps to keep them in line.

it makes me wonder if a similar demise would’ve happened to oriana if it were not for madocs position. (i’m gonna make a short analysis on this bc it’s rly interesting to me!)

it’s like jude says in tcp in her monologue, “even the high king would find it distasteful to have your son take your place in a lovers bed.” i wonder if eldred were greedy, and killed lovers similarly to how dain killed liri, despite the different circumstances, perhaps eldred found it upsetting to see his consorts move on, and so he simply rid of them so as to not bear the humiliation of it. (though i know faerie isn’t quite like that, how everyone pretty much screws each other without a care, things are different for a king)

but yeah! poor taniot, poor val moren, and screw eldred tbh! he’s revealed to be an asshole even after his death, so damn!

anyway thank u for the ask! i rly like doing these, even if i am just screaming into the void, it actually helps me during my rereads, just to understand the character a little better!! 🫶🫶

I was sitting in the principal’s office when he came in, storming into the place like a hurricane. The door almost getting out of it’s place. I flinch at the loud sound and he doesn’t notice. He sits by my side with his eyebrows frowning and a look in his eyes that was kinda scary. I’m on my phone so it’s not awkward and there’s not weird looks in between us. He has his backpack across his chest and grabs it really tight like his life depends on it. I look at him slightly with my peripheral vision and notice his heavy breathing on my ears. His heart was probably going a mile per minute.

“you ok?” I ask without taking my eyes of my phone and the pictures I was watching. He takes notice of me and my question.

“you talking to me?” he sounds raspy like he was fighting to talk.

“do you see anyone else on the room I could be talking to instead?” my response comes out a bit more rude than I expected so I change my face and turn around.

“wow, rude girl, I see” he softens the grip on his backpack and turns too.

“sorry, I didn’t mean for it to come out like that” I really didn't.

“s’okay, I can imagine you got a bad day if you’re here” at least he’s nice.

“so do you right?” anyone who gets to meet the principal’s office is definitely having a bad one.

“you could say that, yeah” I get a confused look on my face as he stares at me. “what?” he asks in between laughs. Cute.

“what did you do?” I ask softly “to be here, what did you do?” I repeat.

“oh, uhm- I shouldn’t tell you, s’gross” he scrunches his nose as he speaks.

“ah come on, it can’t be worse than Jimmy Cooper sticking his used gum on Mrs. O’Donnell lunch last week. Can it?” there’s a little fear in my words as I can’t believe anything worse or more gross than that. He makes a face that indicates to me that it is, in fact, grosser than what Jimmy did. “what the fuck did you do, Munson?” I’m now on the edge of my seat.

“wait, you know my name? how come I don’t know yours but you know mine if I’ve never seen you before?” he’s at the edge of his now.

“you might have this rare disease called “not noticing pretty girls”, s’bad, if I were you I’ll be heading to the doctor right away after talking to the principal” I press my lips together in a fine line when I’m done talking and I nod, then laugh.

I was about to say something to him but the door was opened and the secretary told us the principal was gonna be late for another half an hour, so we had to wait more.

“fucking awesome” I say. I watch as she closes door and Eddie goes to the principal’s chair and sits on it.

“he sure has better things to do right? Such a busy man” he sits straight and begins to talk again. “if it wasn’t for me this school would be a little shit dumpster. Basically I try to see how much out of character I can get away with while still remaining relatively plausible/canon-adjacent. I have three sort of half-written one-shots right now, some very quick summaries of each: -- The one where I try to justify Tanya carrying around a stuffed animal; This was a bit inspired by Tanya's Free Time in the recs above -- The one where Tanya has a breakdown after the Brest Naval Base thing; Lergen accidentally catches her crying and is like oh god oh fuck what the hell is wrong with her -- and lastly the one where Tanya uses the type 95 just a bit too much and oops now she’s broken

Untitled/The one where I lock them in a room together Tanya von Degurechaff and Erich von Lergen accidentally get locked in a room together and are forced to have a civil chat to pass the time. Also, Tanya screws up an orb-less communication spell to call for help, and now Lergen can hear what she’s thinking, so that’s less than ideal.

Untitled/The one I’m jokingly calling Child Soldier × Family You could sort of call it a Spy × Family AU? But honestly I think I’d call it more ‘inspired by’ than a proper crossover. Basically, they lose the war, and for spying reasons, Tanya gets adopted and has to go to school to make friends to get intel on their families. Key differences from SxF though: Tanya’s technically the spy and there isn’t any fake-marriage aspect to the story comparable to Loid and Yor’s relationship. Perhaps my favorite part of it, Lergen takes Loid’s role as Father Figure bc both of them share the character trait “frequently gets stomach aches due to the stressful little girl they have to deal with” lmao

This is Heaven and Hell Tanya manages to usurp Being X and takes control of the universe/Being X’s power. If you’ve seen Madoka Magica, the vibes I was aiming for with this one are comparable to the end of the Rebellion movie. Tanya rewrites the universe, everyone’s memories are a little janky, she’s struggling with her newfound status as Literally God, etc. I intended it to be kind of angsty but literally everything I touch somehow becomes a comedy so this thing may get broken into two different versions the funny one and the hopefully more serious one.

To Those Without Power, Sin was Charged That fallen Angel!Tanya au I posted about before. i’ve never been asked this before! i had to think about it!

a biggie take your time finding your style- as you can see on my masterlist i have a looot of shit on there from years of writing fanfic and experimenting. getting out of my comfort zone can be kinda hard for me personally, but with writing it was so worth it bc you can really see a metamorphosis there of when i was writing just to write and when i was writing with a drive.

don’t be afraid to ignore the rules of grammar. run on sentences are beautiful. i’ve found that especially so when the plot is driven by someone’s stream of consciousness as though they’re narrating it. thoughts are messy, they’re long and sometimes awkward and there’s no such thing as grammar in your mind !! of course spelling and punctuation are important and i’d recommend editing tho (idk her 😳) but get creative with it!!

thesaurus.com is my bestie 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩 i often find myself using a lot of the same words and i don’t want to bore readers with repetitiveness! and also it’s just an easy way to expand my vocabulary too. (in person i stammer and have the reach of a fourth grader lmfao so i always want my writing to be concise and make the reader feel exactly what i want them to with my language)

also something i’ve started doing recently !! when i’m away from my wip and daydream about it, i write it down right away! in my notes app or on sticky notes or even my hand hehe. sure if it’s a significant enough plot point i’ll probably remember… but there’s no time like the present!! i want A to look at B a little differently in that one quick scene? i want to make them eat something different for foreshadowing? little details like that can be huge in your writing !! something a reader might gloss over but then realize later it was all a part of a greater scheme?? yes. so take note of those thoughts and daydreams you have !! even if you don’t end up adding it to your work, it’s better than having a profound, fic changing idea that you forget before you get the chance to write it!

this one is simple but a biggie- think about what you would want to read. i’ve been trying to keep this in mind as of late, especially when writing longer pieces where i want to make y’all suffer. find new ways to build the tension in your plot. give us different points of view, give us an untrustworthy narrator that thinks they’ve got it all figured out. throw in extra conflict. fanfiction is the melting pot of whatever the fuck you want !! so go stupid go crazy and make it something you love, and you should be good to go!! not to be cheesy but as long as you love it then you’re solid. doing something you love over and over will naturally lead you through growth and finding your style. don’t be wrapped up in notes right away (yes it can be a bit of an issue on this app- but none of has have control over how people enjoy your work- so you might as well focus on enjoying it for yourself) because as long as you’re doing something you’re passionate about and sharing it with us, more people will soon flock to enjoy it with you <3

lastly i just enjoy making mini playlists for whatever i’m currently working on. they don’t have to correlate completely with your plot. sometimes the sound of a beat is good enough for me to throw it on. if it gets me excited and planning out scenes i haven’t gotten to yet then it’s good enough for me!! i will listen to the same song on repeat in the name of ✨vibes✨ even if the words themselves have nothing to do with the plot i’m writing. that’s probably lazy basic advice but it works well for me and i love listening to music so !!

i hope this helps, and i wish you all kinds of luck as you explore this hobby for yourself !! it can be so freeing to get lost in your own work, and tbh sometimes i feel a little cringe about writing fanfiction but… i just adore it. it’s my favorite thing to do and when i think like that i stomp it down bc i’m proud of my work! i’m proud of how far i’ve come and i’m eager to see what i can push myself towards next!!!

A injury headcanon

P1- He rarely tries to ever take care of any injuries he gets. Self inflicted, by accident, or made by someone else. He might if it’s really bad but I think his depression & whatnot makes it to the point he doesn’t even bother trying to help it heal. That is of course if he isn’t thinking about the ‘infection’ that he thinks is going around.

He’d let someone else help him patch his wounds up if he trusted them enough. But he’s really quiet when they do & he’s either just looking completely away or just stares at the wound & what they are doing pretty hard.

P2- makes more of a effort to patch himself up. Not all of his ways about doing so are ideal of course. He thinks smoking is probably the best way to heal himself. Otherwise he just slaps on a small band-aid over a huge gash and calls it a day 💀 but maybe after his wife leaves him, he feels more of a reason to be kinder to himself so he tries to actually bandage himself up properly & looks into getting disinfectants. Maybe even puts together a first-aid kit.

Also I think he used to feel really sick when he would have to give himself stitches but he got numb to doing it after a bit :/ and he honestly kinda forgets not everyone sees that every day so he’d so do it in front of his s/o with no warning at least once💀 he’d be momentarily confused why they look pale or whatever until he remembers ‘oh yeah, it’s not exactly usual.’

A Halloween headcanon

P1- I still can’t even decide after being in this fandom for years now, if p1 would love or hate horror movies. I can see him hating them because he already is scared of everything else so why would he wanna put on something that has violence he can just “see it everyday already” according to him. But I can see him loving them too because he gives off the vibe of being a little bit of a geek & he would know all types of old horror films. Personally I go with the idea he hates them a little more so I’ll say, he kinda skips over all the Halloween stuff they play on the TV during October. Maybe if there is some cartoon Halloween episode he’d watch it tho.

If someone asked him why he doesn’t wanna watch scary things he’s gonna def say something about how he can “see the real scary stuff on the news.”

P2- he has some good fun on Halloween. He’s not over the moon about the holiday but like in the game he yells trick or treat & shit while goin on his way so I imagine he likes to be a little bit more of a shit on that day more than usual. He buys a few decorations here and there but nothing too over the top. I imagine they don’t have a lot of room in the trailer so he doesn’t wanna clutter it up too much with seasonal things if he can have a say in it.

An unexpected headcanon

P1- after I’ve seen a lot of fanart of p1 one dancing for some reason I accepted it as a hc that he likes to dance 💀 he rarely shows any emotion while he does so and he would never dance in public but I think on a good day you could hypothetically catch him rocking out to some metal or rock. Maybe even some pop if you’re real lucky.

Also I dunno why but I hold onto the hc he has one random plush maybe uncle Dave gave to him as a kid & still has it around. Maybe laying on the bed all the time or he brings it around the house with him as a comfort item. He’d be kinda embarrassed if someone noticed tho and would try to come up with a lie that he barely cares about it or that he’s holding onto it for a relative or something lol

P2- he actually is a pretty good ‘peoples person’ when the other person doesn’t do some dumb shit. Now if it’s just because he acts friendly to stay out of trouble or if it’s because he’s genuinely like that is up for debate I guess. But I think if the world didn’t throw so much shit at him and people treated him like any decent person would, I think he’d be a very friendly guy who’s easy to get along with :) but with the way things are in p2 I imagine he has kinda a wall built up around him from anyone getting too close & they just see what’s only on the surface. He just kinda learned how to act in a way that will hopefully prevent people from flying off the handles at him.

Do you write in order?

i write in whatever order the visions come to me and fill in all the gaps afterwards. very occasionally the visions do just come to me in order and i’ll write them like that, but most of the time i’ll get a middle or an ending or a three-quarters-of-the-way-through first. 

How fully formed does your writing come out the first try?

fairly well-formed, if a bit plain at times. but that’s fine, first draft is just for getting the thing itself to exist, then the editing passes are for adding the seasonings and spices and garnishes.

How many drafts do you go through?

i’ll generally do a first draft (just get it all written, ignore awkward word combos, sentences that don’t quite get the idea across, maybe even leave in a couple placeholder [HE SAYS SOMETHING SEXY HERE] things), then a major editing pass (fill in the placeholders, smooth out the jarring transitions, pick some better words, add cool stuff i thought of after the first draft), then a minor editing pass (add and then remove and then re-add a semi-colon ten times). sometimes individual chapters will have five million passes depending on how much trouble they gave me.

Tell me about your process.

i pretty much always start with an outline these days, but an outline can be anything from a detailed chapter-by-chapter breakdown of scenes and motivations and goals, to a short garbled paragraph which is basically just like “ommmgggg and then they do this lol wow i am a genius”. once i’ve written the outline it needs to marinate anywhere from a couple weeks to several years before i start actually doing stuff with it.

at any given time i’ve got several different fics microwaving in my head and i’ll kinda pick away at all of them as ideas come to me. it’s not unusual at all for me to jump back and forth between a few different docs in the same session and add a line to this one, a short conversation to that one, a vibe to the other one. once i’ve done enough of this picking and i also know what shape i want the fic to have (the shape will just spontaneously occur to me at some point in the outlining, marinating, or picking stages), my brain will shift into I Am Writing This mode and then i’ll just focus on one fic and write that to completion (or as far as i can get anyway).

right now i’ve got 18 fic ideas outlined. of those, 15 are marinating, and 3 i’m picking at. 1 of them did briefly shift into I Am Writing This territory but i lost steam before i could finish it and now it’s back in the picking stage. i think i’ll get it done soon(ish) tho. there’s a bunch that i wish were in the picking stage already because i really want to do stuff with them, but i can just feel in my soul that they’re not done marinating yet.

so all this is to say that my process is entirely vibes-based and there’s no real rhyme or reason to it. fun!

For 15a, god, I’m torn. I’ll tell you this much tho: you won’t ever find my introvert ass in a nightclub, and that’s a promise! As for the other three, I love museums as much as the next girl, but it’s gotta be between a forest and a library. I’m a bookish bitch, but I also love being out in nature and vibing amongst the trees, especially in the fall when the leaves start to turn or if that forest ends in a mountaintop :)

For 15b, my style is definitely pretty comfy and casual. When I’m not wearing football shirts, what I wear really just depends on the season. If we’re talking fall and winter, pretty much sweaters, leggings, and boots every day (think Rory Gilmore from Gilmore Girls or Eva Mohn from Skam only more extreme). These are MY motherfucking seasons. I’m a sweater slut…there, I said it. For spring and summer, I don’t care what I wear as long as I can wear flip flops on my feet 🤷‍♀️

I haven’t made any super big decisions recently, but I’m about to make a really big one: I’m about to apply for grad schools, and in the process, I’ve got to decide whether I want to stay in the states and round out my studies here or if I want to wrap things up over in Europe (I’m thinking Scotland, since I left a piece of my heart there a few months back). And when I tell you have I have no idea what I’m gonna do, I’m serious lol. I mean, if I decide to go to uni in Scotland, I’ve basically gotta commit to at least spending a couple of years there. And idk, I’m nervous about the weight of that decision and the unpredictability of the outcome. I might love it more there as much as I did the 4 months I studied there previously, or I might not. It’s tricky. Should I stay or should I go, ya know? Decisions, decisions…

62. The first thing that comes to my mind when I hear the word “heart”? Probably a feeling: passion. Giving your all to something—pouring your heart and soul into something you truly love. It doesn’t have to be a job; it can just be a hobby, something to pass the time. What better way is there to live life than with passion for whatever it is you’re doing or however it is you’re living?

88. First, a lil bb anecdote: my body loves sleep. I sleep like a bear hibernating for the winter; 9 hours is simply insufficient. I’m entirely convinced I could sleep a year if left unchecked or without alarms to stop me. But apparently this morning my brain decided to stage a coup d’état against my body, and I woke up randomly at 7am. Not sure why…I just did, I guess? So that’s fun. But my first thought of the morning was literally: “holy shit, what time is it?” And then when I realized it was the ass crack of dawn, I trust-fell back into my bed (good thing my bed is the most trustworthy inanimate object in the game), trying fruitlessly to will myself back to sleep for the next 2 hours. Eventually I fell asleep…I must’ve, cuz when I woke up again it was like 1pm 😵 moral of the story: my circadian rhythm is damaged beyond repair and not even that cute little thing called sleep can fix it.

Should my portfolio be

1. Dark-renaissance (black silk for hard cover and dark floral backgrounds for the pages. I will also add some gold lines or designs too)

2. Beige aesthetic (light brown or beige linen fabric for the hardcover of the portfolio and vintage floral backgrounds for the pages. Maybe gold i have to see if it looks nice or not)
