my favorite song on my character’s playlist: I can’t pick a favorite, but the ones that fit most accurately to her story, lyrically and vibe-wise, are “Feed the Machine” by Poor Man’s Poison, “Werewolf Heart” by Dead Man’s Bones, and “Raise Hell” by Brandi Carlisle.

the most heartbreaking song: “Heartbreaker” by Autoheart, but 99% of the playlist is VERY sad

the song that fills me with joy: “Up the Wolves” by The Mountain Goats

the newest song on the playlist: “Requiem on Water” by Imperial Mammoth

the song about my character’s relationship to another character: “The Fog” by Rachel Sermani is about her relationship to her goddess/necromancy. (I could’ve picked one of the many songs about Lawrence, or said “Class of 2013″ is about her relationship with her mother, but these felt like copouts.)

the song that won’t make sense to other people but trust me, it belongs there: This is difficult as I am SUPER choosy about Morwyn’s playlist so generally all of the songs can easily be applied to her story, but maybe “Lost Boys” by Paper Bird is the biggest stretch?

the song im embarrassed to admit i have on the playlist, but fit too well to leave off: “Hayloft II” by Mother Mother; it’s cliché but fits SO well.

The Big Sad has come and knocked me on my ass today so I’m going to shower and listen to some Rachel Sermani and pick up my medication and buy some soup and some crusty bread and maybe take a walk down to the river after lunch and just try to breathe.

While things might not get better, they won’t get worse.
