I need help assigning species to characters for a different version of my magic AU I’m working on.

SUMMARY: Lady Melara Hightower is the youngest daughter of Lord Leyton Hightower and has a distinct, serious and pious personality. She is sent to serve the Faith as a Septa, but her destiny suddenly changes once she becomes betrothed to the heir of Dorne, Prince Oberyn Martell.

Now she is to be his princess and wife, beginning a new role as Lady of Sunspear and Princess of Dorne, living in a land far from hers with distinct habits and costumes and dealing with so many divergences and a husband far more wild than she could ever expect. Would she be capable of lighting the way of her mind and heart?

“Have you heard the news, sister?” asked Saranella, another novice, whispering at Melara while both the girls took old candles to pour them out and place new candles in disposition in the Sept. Melara looked at her with confusion.

“What news, sister?” Melara asked back.

“Lady Lynesse Hightower got married at the end of the tourney in Lannisport,” the novice whispered. Melara raised an eyebrow, but internally cheered for her blood sister. “They say she had no consent from her father, but ran to the nearest Sept and married the man who crowned his Queen of love and beauty, leaving to Bear Island against her father’s will” the woman said, playfully smiling.

“I am sure that Lady Lynesse is a dutiful and pious woman,” Melara said, trying to cut any kind of ill gossip about her family. 

“Apparently not very much so, sister.” Saranella mocked. “I heard she was to marry Prince Oberyn Martell… and Bear Island is not his seat.”

“Let us remember this is a Sept, a holy place, sister. Make sure to keep your thoughts clean, away from vile words against an estimated Lady of the Seven Kingdoms.” she finished, throwing daggers at Saranella for those provocative words. The other novice could only notice how those news affected Melara.

“Such a strange coincidence, an estimated lady being so well defended by a simple novice,” the woman provoked. “Are you truly our sister, Lady Melara? Or do you still hold feelings for your home castle and kin?”  

Melara turned her gaze to Saranella and did not show any kind of emotion.

“My place is here now, sister. Any different word is untrue.” she said and walked away from the other girl. Those news certainly hit her in a different spot, since she knew her father had different plans for Lynesse. His biggest goal was to increase his power and alliances, bringing Dorne closer to the Reach and make the beautiful Hightower sister be the next consort Princess of Dorne. The novice thought about how furious her father must have been furious with this escapade that put House Hightower in ill comments across the realm. She also thought about how Lynesse’s former family betrothed reacted to the escaping bride and how outraged Prince Oberyn must have been, for a bride was promised and an oath was broken.

“I know what you did.” The woman beside him was beautiful even at a mature age. Long, dark curls falling over her upper body and contrasting with her tanned skin, big eyes with small wrinkles at the side of her eyes, expressing her age along the years that passed by. Ysilla, being the current ruler of Dorne, had no time to waste and she did not enjoy to be taken as a fool, especially from her own kin.

“I am afraid you need to develop this thought, mother.”

“In Lannisport. A lady, promised to be your wife, ends up being married to the man who crowned her his Queen of love and beauty,” Ysilla gave him a bitter laugh. “I kept waiting for you to tell me the truth since the tourney. Such coincidence she runs right after meets you in a feast...”

“And what truth would that be?” he asked, playing naive.

“That you helped your former betrothed to escape.” 

Oberyn chuckled and drank his wine. “This wine is distasteful and tastes like piss.” he said, making a disgusted expression. “I will not deny your statement.”

“You must think of yourself as the boldest of men for going against your princess and ruler's wills,” Ysilla said, sternly. “You will take a bride to call yours.”

“You gave me a bride I did not choose,” he replied, with a sarcastic smirk.

“The bride you chose in your heart you cannot have.” she said, looking at Elia, that had a jolly expression on her face from afar with her husband.

“If she and I were Targaryens, no one would say a word on this subject.”

“Yet, you are a Martell from Dorne.” 

“And very proud of it.” he said, facing Elia as well.

1. The thing that got you hooked on hockey

it's hard to pinpoint one moment because i honestly genuinely believe that it's the best sport in the world just in terms of pure mechanics and objective viewing enjoyment and live crowd atmosphere so it's easy to get hooked once you actually watch it... i've been on and off with hockey fandom itself and took a few years away from tumblr until recently but i'd say it was a mix of just watching games + discovering fandom spaces on tumblr/reading fic on ao3 + having a decent home team at the time + canadian tax etc.

2. Your first ever fandom friend

ngl i think most of the people i first met in hockey fandom eventually moved onto bts (or k-pop in general) lmfaooo but i met @regularseason when i was in 11th grade making connor mcdavid gifsets and now i am somehow 25 years old. we have seen so much on this vast internet together ❤️ 

3. The jersey you would most like to own

MOOTERUS BROS RISE UP ☝️🐮  absolutely my favorite jersey of all time i genuinely don't think any other design comes close. i also really love the stars rr 2.0 but i finally bit the bullet and bought it so that's out... another top contender would be sabres goathead 🐐 and maybe mighty ducks era pkariya, also i think the sharks rr 2.0 with the spin on the seals logo is sooo cute and i love the og sharks logo designed by terry smith as well... specifically the classic late 90s teal jersey. and my fav regular home jersey of current teams is the kraken :')

i have way too many opinions on jerseys honestly. if i could pick some from my warmup jersey database then i lovelovelove the habs 2023 bhm and pride designs (i have apparel for both of these...), the leafs indigenous celebration design, and the kraken women in hockey design. gorgeous girls!!!!!

4. YOUR player (you only get ONE so choose wisely)

(real talk like a big part of why i got into the stars and came back to sports tumblr was because of him despite having 0 geographical ties to texas LOL. admittedly there was some superficiality involved at first in seeing an asian guy achieve top-line star status against the restrictive pains of bones hockey but then i was like oh your game is actually efficient and understated as hell? and it kind of spiraled out from there. my favorite deceptively abnormal "boring" guy!!!)

5. A pairing that deserves more fic

i will echo 2124 💚 but i am part of the problem for having 4 partial aus in one doc and not actually writing anything of substance for them... otherwise there are a ton of rarepairs i could argue in favor of but i feel like i'd sound insane. where is the otter/woll boston goaliefic... where is mitch/nrob with robo being vaguely horrified but trying to be supportive of his brother's poor decision making skills. where is my sabresfic and kidsline shenanigans in general......... also if we're going back to the stars then 2141 honestly have so much untapped potential wrt Why Are You Both So Weird Can You Please [Redacted] About It. but you get the gist i'm sure!!!

6. Your favourite on-ice moment

my memory does NOT go that far back. whatever is the most embarrassing thing to have ever happened to some guy i hate is good enough for me

The Traumatized Cup, RR AU: Chapter 2: Broken Glass.

Mocha's sleep was packed with nightmares, each willing to haunt her every second. She felt mildly uncomfortable, tossing and turning in her bedpan. The cup, frustrated and upset, slowly got up to get a bottle of water from her bag. (Don't do it , Mocha. It's not worth it-)

But she was too tired to even move.

Mocha glanced at Blair and Hazel, soundly asleep in their blankets.

"Should I ask them for help..?" Mocha thought.

"Nah.. I don't wanna disturb them.."

Mocha pondered on whether she should wake them up or not , though she CLEARLY thought of Blair to wake her up in case something was wrong.

"Y'know what.. ? Nevermind.."

The tired cup, with bags under her eyes, groaned as she fumbled out of her bedpan. She shuffled her way to the sitting room, where she had left her sleepover bag.

But as she was about to open the zipper , Mocha suddenly fell to the cold, hard floor.

[Blair's P. O. V:]

For some odd reason, Mocha wasn't in her bedpan when I woke up. I slowly got up to see where she was, only to hear knocking on the door. Not even caring about being tired, I get up, and slowly open the door to see.. Oh look, it's Rubix.

"Rubix..?"

"Oh , Hey. I was just researching some butterflies, and I heard a loud thud sound over here." Rubix explained , with a concerned look on his face.

"Is.. Anything going on?"

"Not at the moment.. But I can't find Mocha.."

"You can't find her?"

"Yeah.. Hey.. Would you be a champ , and come help me look?"

"Of course!"

Me and Rubix searched the house, and we couldn't find her. I sighed. Maybe she went home? No.. Not in the middle of the night..

Me and Rubix then checked the sitting room.. We then saw..

[Hazel's P. O. V]:

"Ooooooh! Some pretty butterflies!"

I danced and twirled around the pools of lavenders, petunias, and daffodils. The birds on the large cherry tree chirped and spread their adorable wings. They started chirping and taking off into the blue sk-

"HAZEL! WAKE UP!!"

"WHAT-?!"

I woke up, and realized that it was all just a dream.

"Rubix? What are you doing here? And since WHEN we're you a doctor? Oh, and by the way, I was having an awesome dreeaaamm!! Why'd you wake me uppppp??"

"A, Mocha has fainted. B, I was also a cop, a part of community service, apart of the BoosterFun team.. And etc etc. And C, don't talk to me like that."

".. Excuse me, Mocha WHAT?"

"..Fainted..?"

At first I didn't believe it. But then I sprung up from my bedpan and ran towards the corridor, leaving the slushie behind.

"Wait for me!!!"

I stopped in my tracks.

"...oh.. my.."

Blair then turned to me.

That's Mocha, alright. On the floor, passed out, with BLEEDING cracks in her handle. "What happened??" I said, as I looked towards Blair and Rubix, hopefully expecting an answer.

Blair: "I don't know! I just went to get a midnight snack, heard Rubix at the door saying he heard a loud THUD , we checked the house, and found her fainted!"

Rubix: "Thankfully she's alive.."

Meanwhile, I grabbed a cloth, and cleaned the bloody carpet, while Rubix wrapped her handle with bandages from his first aid kit. He really seemed to know what he was doing.

Blair: "Let's wake her up first, shall we..?"

Rubix: "Yeah.."

Me: "Let's take her to YOUR bedroom.."

While Blair (with a little help of Rubix) dragged Mocha into the bedroom, I noticed something really strange with her left eye. It was white, with a flame of black..

"What's that..?" Blair said, pointing to the odd eye.

"I honestly never seen that before.. What IS that thing?"

Rubix: "I don't know.. Let me see.."

Rubix flipped open some random page of.. An actual GhostBusters journal?

Rubix: "It's a demon. 100%."

Blair: "Oh crap.."

Rubix: "Well, either way, we should try to still wake her up."

Me: "Mhm.."

I looked at Blair, who was holding an ice cold bucket of water, with her shaking nervously. Rubix immediately stood in the corner of the room, with a taser in one hand, and an AK-47 in the other.

Me: "What are y'all gonna do with that?"

SILENCE.

"PUMPKIN PIE!!!" We're the words Blair suddenly yelled, as she poured the water onto Mocha's face. She got up with a yelp. I was too shocked to process what was happening. "Well, you did wake her up.. But was saying "pumpkin pie" really that necessary?"

"I dunno. Blair shrugged. "Do you know how muc-"

Out of nowhere, Mocha sprang up and started to attack Blair, scratching her face and her left eye. She screamed as the blood trickled down her, as she teared up, with the blood staining the carpet.

"FREEZE!" Rubix snapped at Mocha. She turned to face him.

"Stop right there , and put your hands in THE AIR!"

Mocha just smiled creepingly at him..

"I'm not scared of B.S like you..."

"I SAID.."

"FREEZE! ANYTHING YOU SAY OR DO WILL NOT BE HESITATED TO USE AGAINST YOU IN THE COURT OF LAW!"

Mocha was about to attack him.

"So, are you gonna keep looking at me like that, or.."

"Of COURSE I'm gonna look at you like that, you cackling bitch.."

I quickly jumped in.

"Mocha! Is that you?"

"Duh."

"Are you hurt? How did you faint?"

"Stop asking me stupid questions.."

"Why did you.. Uh.. Do the thingy to Blair?"

"Do you have an IQ of negative 25?? EVERYONE knows why Mocha VIOLENTLY HARRASED Blair."

"Violently.. Harrased.. Is not the term I wanna go with.." Blair hoarsingly said.

"I'll.. Just get some bandages.."

I sighed, as I walked towards Rubix's first aid kit, located in the kitchen. As I was grabbing some plasters, I heard a loud scream. I went to check..

"MOCHA!"

Mocha held up a vase, ready to attack Blair , who was on the floor, begging for mercy. Rubix is sitting in the corner, frightened.. His left eye is missing.. Rubix quickly grabbed his taser, and shot Mocha in the eye with it. She dropped the vase, and it shattered, as she dropped onto the carpet.

"Eye for an eye..." He mumbled, as I helped Blair up.

Blair: "I-Is she okay?"

Rubix: Yeah, she's fine.."

Me: "Mostly.."

I went to fix Blair's wounds after that.
