Something something about how killer is no longer able to find hope or peace or wonder with stars anymore because they just remind him of the resets now and it’s just another way the Anaomly took him from himself
versus how color brought him safety and hope and light and freedom and is offering to both help him return to himself and/or find and accept himself. is color now killer’s stars.

undertale au in which burgerpants is aware of time resets, but doesn't know it, because each day already blurs together for him in a hellish loop of thankless minimum wage job. so no matter what the player does, he just goes "WELP. SAME SHIT AS ALWAYS". flowey actually vibes with him.

She takes a deep breath and smiles. "Thanks. I guess that did count as badass." She chuckles to herself. She sits up properly this time, no longer propping herself up by the arms.
"Though in all honesty, Flowey, that form you took to scare us back then is, by criteria, scary. It would scare someone who's never met you." She says, genuine in her criticism.
"It's just that, I've seen much more than just multiple eyes and fangs. You picked the wrong girl to scare." She shrugs.

Rip and Tear (What if Two Humans Fell: Underfell AU....?)
Warning: Short, blood, violence, No Mercy Route, backstory, cackling, dust, cussing, death, complete loss of body control, etc.
-----
Ivy shifted and danced around the bones before she struck. Papyrus did not have time to register the attack before a blazing ache struck his neck. He gasped in anguish and clutched his neck. He dropped on one knee. He didn't have time to think about anything as he peered up at the elder human and her cold malicious eyes. The sword in her palm nearly burned from her touch.
"I.... I don't know what I was expecting." Papyrus spoke almost out of uncertainty and impulse. He felt a chill run down his spine as the tiny human stared at her in dread. They ran over to seize him, but Ivy pushed them away. "You killed everyone in your path... for what? To defend yourself? No, this is not for protection or self-defense... This is cold-blooded murder." Papyrus spat as the human approached cautiously.
"You... are a murderer. Only a fool would believe in you." He spat as the human made her way over faster. She then, viciously, kicked him toward an area. Papyrus felt the air being knocked out of him. Before his vision faded, he could see red strings wrapped around the two humans and he could see tears running down Ivy's face before she takes the hand of the younger human and walked. After that, he just felt cold. He barely felt anything.
----
"No, no, fuck!" Sans wailed as he held his brother's scarf. He sobbed through it. The chilling realization sank in. "Paps, this isn't funny." Sans's voice begins to crack. "Please, fuck, gods please..." He can't stop thinking about his brother's death, dust, and scarf. He didn't notice any dust, but it could have flown away by now. Then he collapsed. His magic erupted, producing red bones around him as he cursed the universe and the Gods.
"Why?! Why do you keep fucking taking things from me! Over and over!" Sans shouted out in rage. He sobbed into his scarf before getting up. No, he could not cry. His sorrow turns to wrath. All he could do was sob while clutching the scarf to his chest, but his sorrow swiftly changed to a desire for retribution. He would fuckin' kill that woman and the child she has with her. He didn't care about the consequences anymore.
Even if he died fighting her.
-------
Papyrus felt something--or someone(?)--push his soul back together. He coughed when he noticed the blood on the ground beside him. He grabbed his neck and shot up. He wasn't in Snowdin; instead, as his uncertainty dissipated, he realized he was in New Home. He felt something pulling on his SOUL, a plea for desperation and assistance. He felt a tug on his arm. He stood up, despite his aching muscles, and began to run as the instinct commanded. He heard fights and laughter.
"Is this some sort of fucking game to you?! You already killed me once and now you want to do it again?" Papyrus heard Sans' words as he approached, and he felt chilly as he noticed Ivy staring back at him, clutching a blazing blade. He noticed the smaller human lying asleep at his feet. The older human's harsh smile and chilly eyes gave him a nauseating feeling. "You aren't a human, are you?" Sans hissed at the human, who tilted her head.
"Oh? No, Sans, I'm really human." Ivy smirked and adjusted the sword in her palm, aiming it at the skeleton. "I'm as human as they come." Ivy hissed hard before striking the older skeleton, delivering a killing blow. The older skeleton falls to his knees and starts coughing up blood.
"Sans!" Papyrus shouted out, and the human glanced over. Sans' eyes lit up, and Papyrus wasted no time throwing the human against a wall with his magic. He grabbed up the little human and dashed to Sans. He felt the elderly skeleton fall into his arms. "Sans, Sans. Hold on. I can fix it." Papyrus cried as he held the skeleton who was slowly dusting in his arms.
"Paps, you.... wanna go to Grillby's?" Sans choked gently, and Papyrus felt tears well up in his eyes. He knew they grew up in a terrible, dangerous environment, but he held on so firmly. He didn't want this to happen; instead, he needed to stop it. He had to save his brother!
"Yes, yes, Sans. Just hang on and we'll go to Grillby's. We'll get your favorite greasy food and I'll- I'll enjoy some milk... Just hold…" Papyrus' voice went on deaf ears as he held his brother dust in his arms. He felt cold as his soul stopped. He could hear the older human begin to laugh so loudly in the background.
"How pathetic!" Ivy exclaimed with a wicked grin. He could see the tears flowing down her cheeks before she started laughing harder. It seemed nearly painful to her. He could see the crimson strings, but before she could finish speaking, he impaled her with a bone. She gasped as her sword struck the floor, splattering blood on the ground and onto him. The smaller human did not stir.
-----
He awoke outside the Judgment Hall again, but he did not pause to contemplate. He ran inside the Judgment Hall when he saw her launch the final attack; he didn't pause, he didn't think, he dove, and his face was scarred as he killed Ivy again to save his brother. However, his interference and feelings twisted when he sensed the ground underneath his brother drop. He desperately stretched out, but he disappeared in a second. He focused his attention on the human as she began to cry.
"Stop- I want to stop-" Ivy shouted out as the cords that were so tightly wrapped around her adjusted her posture to face him with her weapon. He did not pause or hesitate; the fight began. It was violent and bloody.
She slashed, he dodged, he struck, and she was able to scratch him several times as he repeatedly attacked her. She had physically attempted to stop herself several times, but it only made her feel worse. She eventually stopped herself long enough to be impaled again, which completely devastated their universe. They felt the ground fall under them.
-----
That was when they all woke in the anti-void.
"I'm sorry," Ivy said quietly, staring at her shaky hands. She was shaking. Hydrangea was attempting to calm her but failing; he felt nothing for her tears. The crimson strings were gone, and she'd recounted how she'd lost control of her body. He stared blankly, feeling nothing but contempt, and knowing that there was more danger ahead, he decided to concentrate on it as they all walked together.
They eventually decided on their own names. Soterios grumbled and pushed Baptisia along. The harm from their universe and the past, everything that transpired, fits him well. He remembered all of the resets and became hardened as soon as they left the Anti-Void. She could only protect his loved ones at this point. He couldn't keep allowing the world to break him apart. They had become fugitives in the eyes of many AUs, so they decided to wear masks...
After all, he felt he was too hideous to look at without his mask on.

I feel like the way we see ‘resets’ in Undertale and their relationship to the charaters is wrong. Here me out but; The resets aren’t ‘time travel’ at least not entirely. (And I feel the distinction is going to be important for Deltarune.)
For clarification when I say Reset I mean resetting your save file. Not the Save and Load function. I make this distinction because the save points in the game quite literally do save a point in time and allow you to travel back, which is just completely time-travel. But in this theory we are going to Discuss resets, and why I believe they don’t actually take you back in time- but to an alternate timeline. Hear me out- Every time you reset the game you are given a FUN value number. Most of you know this already, but for those who don’t a FUN value number is number from 1-100 that you get each new game.
Depending on your number you will get special ‘FUN events’ exclusive to that number. (The most famous example being the rare ‘Mystery Man’ who most people think is Gaster). This is Important because while it would make sense for these secret events to be ‘random chance Gaster easter eggs’ that’s not all they are.
But three FUN events in particular have no obvious lore relevance; Alphys calling for a Pizza, Sans Prank Calling you, and Nightmare Mode word search (Sans’s word search now has a snowman named nightmare).
The question is- why? None of those FUN events have any lore relevance or obvious connection to Gaster. I believe it’s because the Resets Bring you into a new Timeline, one where almost everything is the same except something small (like a phone-call or a word search illustration). And I’m not making this assumption without any evidence or precedent, this is actually something that happens in Deltarune too. Something not a lot of people know is that Between the three save files you are given in Deltarune there is a in-game difference- but it’s somthing small and unimportant, the items in Asreil’s Dresser. Small differences that don’t really affect the game, but indicate a difference. Sound familiar?
Deltarune has two more save files than Undertale, since game mechanics have a heavy metta narrative in these games it is easy to draw the conclusion that these are alternative timelines to eachother - (Which as I will explain soon aren’t a new concept in canon Undertale) how else would you justify three almost identical games happening at once in a world where the metta narrative of Save and Reset is important. Not only that, but before completing the first chapter doing certain actions in the Save menu will get you special dialogue from the menu guy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
All of these imply something happens to the people when you erase saves. And why would that matter if it simply took them back in time- because these are separate timelines. Honestly I shouldn’t have to make too much of an argument for Deltarune- since it’s literally an Alternate Undertale timeline CANONICALLY. ‘But that’s Deltarune what does this prove about Undertale Resets’ you ask. Well to answer that we have to talk about Sans, specifically his dialogue after you come back from him mercy-killing you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at how he words that, don’t tell THE OTHER SANSES. This line is mostly ignored in the community (unless you like Sans AUs, then it’s mostly used for that) but that’s a pretty interesting thing to say. Because when you compare it to how Sans talks about ‘Timelines jumping left and right’, he probably means it literally. He literally means other timelines exist, and more-so we can go to them. (Since he believes we would be able to tell the other Sanses). I also think this explanation would help explain why Sans has ‘seen what comes next’, because it’s implied- if not outright stated- that Sans KNOWS what happens at the end of a Genocide run. Chara erases the world- somthing that we as the player can do in DELTARUNE that is implied to permanently get rid of the Timeline. But they bring it back right? So it’s all ok? No. Because if my Theory is correct it implies something BIG about the Genocide ERASE reset and the True reset. (I will from here-on be calling that type of reset a hard reset since no-one remembers anything.)
Think about this for a moment- why do we name the fallen Human every Hard Reset. Here’s a better question- why do we ONLY name Chara after a Hard reset. Because if you reset normally the game says ‘a name has already been chosen’, so why DO we get to choose a new name when a hard reset happens? Well I think the answer can be found in Frisk.
Ok to prove my next bit of evidence I need to explain myself. Frisk is their own character- they may not be much of one like Kris, but they are their own character. Examples; Frisk moves of their own accord multiple times (Lamp, Omega Flowey, Maybe Genocide if it’s not Chara), Telling Asriel their Name, Not having enough will to hurt unyne on the hang-out (if choosing to fight), Facial expressions (Sans tells us like a million examples during his fight). At the very least you can’t deny that Frisk told Asriel their name. So in some regard they are a character- Flowey even says this explicitly during his Post-Pacifist Dialogue.
Tumblr media
This is confirmation that Frisk is a person outside of Player/Chara influence. But what this is also confirmation on is that Frisk is affected by OUR ability to reset. Not only that but because of many factors such as, Sans Judgments, Sans room Key test, Sans handshake, Sans fight, and telling Asgore he killed you, we can conclude that Frisk remembers Resets. Which should be obvious right? Except that after a hard reset Frisk DOESNT remember. They don’t do any of the thing indicating they do, and not even Sans seems to notice them acting like they know things beforehand. Why? Well maybe… it’s not the same frisk? And to answer my earlier questions maybe the fallen human we name isn’t the same one after a hard reset. We have reset/erased ALL timelines and have started anew.
I feel this will be important to Deltarune because Deltarune itself is an alternate timeline. Now I’m done with the theory for now but I feel like giving a bit of a prediction- I think Deltarunes ending won’t be an end. I believe Toby when he tells us Deltarune will have one ending. Because I think that after the game is completed, the save file will reset (an option not actually available in Deltarune) and we will be cast into another similar timeline to do it again.
This is the first theory I’ve made so any feedback welcome!! :-)

Do you guys think Chara was able to RESET too?
It would make sense, since they were also a Determination Soul, and Flowey got the ability to RESET after he was reborn with DT.
So do you think Chara went through RESETs too?
Do you think they tried everything they could think of to free the monsters from the Underground, only to fail again and again and again?
Do you think their repeated failures left them a bit bitter and jaded?
Do you think they finally thought they had the answer by letting Asriel absorb their Soul?
Do you think dying was their last ditch attempt to save their family and friends?
Do you think they literally didn't see any other way?
Do you think they felt betrayed by Asriel not fighting back against the humans, despite the fact they'd made the ultimate sacrifice to free monsterkind?
Do you think the moment Asriel absorbed their Soul, Chara lost the ability to RESET?
Do you think anyone else in the Underground remembered Chara's RESETs, or got a strange sense of deja vu around the child?
Do you think Asgore and Toriel suspected their adoptive child was anything more than just a normal human?

I believe that Frisk's first genocide was done out of anger and frustration towards the monsters. Frisk was burnt, stabbed, beaten to the point of unconsciousness, tortured, humiliated and killed by these people and only one had the decency to apologise.
If I went through what Frisk did, I would be a little pissed off. And if I had control over the space-time continuum like Frisk does, I would probably do something similar.

Restless Reprieve
Geno and Aftertale belong to CrayonQueen Reaper belongs to Renrink
If there was one good thing to come from being stuck in this stupid void, it was Reaper.
Geno wasn’t one for overdramatic clichés, but he truly felt like he’d found his soulmate.
The god of death didn’t magically make everything better. Geno’s day-to-day was still a living hell. But Reaper was a bright spot in the darkness. The god helped him through the worst moments, he was a support to lean on. He was a distraction from all of the bad things happening in Geno's universe.
Reaper had stumbled into the Save Screen one day, trying to reap Geno’s soul. Geno had, of course, told him to fuck off. They fought. Reaper won. Reaper tried to take Geno’s soul. He failed.
Both skeletons were surprised to discover that Reaper’s Death Touch didn’t work on Geno. Neither was sure why. It may have been from Geno’s half-dead state, or the amount of determination he’d consumed, or a mere side effect of the Save Screen. Or maybe there was just a glitch somewhere in his code. Whatever the cause, that encounter had led to Geno’s new recurring visitor.
At first, he’d found the death god annoying. Reaper was a terrible flirt, always so touchy-feely... probably because Geno was the only person he could touch without them dusting on the spot. But still. It was annoying. Geno had been irritable whenever the god visited. But as time passed, he’d begun to enjoy the other’s company. Geno told himself it was just because Reaper was something different in his monotonous life, but it was difficult to fool himself for long.
Reaper would tell Geno about different AU’s he’d visited, sharing stories about particularly strange deaths. Gruesome, sure, but it gave Geno something to think about aside from the violence happening in his own world. Reaper brought trinkets and snacks to the Save Screen. He’d find colorful designs to fill the void, or force Geno to try weird candy flavors. And it was nice, to have something different. To have something to look at other than the surrounding blackness. To be able to taste something again after so long not needing food to survive. To have new experiences for the first time in years.
Geno’s favorite gift by far were the books. They gave him something to occupy his time after Reaper left. And the fact that the god of death had thought about what Geno went through while he was gone, had thought to bring him a distraction... it was endearing.
They grew close. Eventually, they started dating. Sort of.
Geno couldn’t really go on dates, since he couldn’t leave the Save Screen, but Reaper didn’t care. He seemed to take it as a challenge, trying his best to recreate all of the stereotypical date locations in the void.
There coffee date had been sipping coffee while sitting on the floor of the Save Screen. They’d spread a blanket over the grassy patch of the void for there picnic. The theater date consisted of Geno and Reaper snuggling together with popcorn and a blanket to watch a movie on Reaper’s phone.
It was simple, but Geno liked it. Reaper was creative in his quest to make every “date” different. To keep bringing new experiences to the void. And it was sweet.
But it wasn’t enough to overcome the hell Geno went through whenever Reaper was gone. When the god of death left to reap the souls of those who’d passed, and Geno was left alone with a handful of books and that view of his family and friends viciously dying on loop.
Some days, he could shut out the human’s torture and focus on the distractions Reaper had provided. But some days those distractions didn’t work, and he felt like he was slowly losing control. How long could he watch these same scenes before he lost his mind?
As much as he loved Reaper, those emotions couldn’t overcome the need to destroy his universe, to stop the human, to save everyone from there endless suffering. He kept trying to talk to Sans, to convince the other monster to help him. Sans continued to refuse. The Resets kept happening. His friends kept suffering. Papyrus kept dying.
Reaper kept visiting. It felt like he was the only thing keeping Geno sane. But it was like a ticking bomb that kept being reset. There’s still an impending explosion, it’s just being delayed.
How long until Geno bursts? When will it all become too much for him to handle? At what point will he fall apart so much that he can’t be put back together?
---
One day, everything changed.
Reaper hadn’t visited lately, and Geno was feeling a little extra crazy, like he’d explode at any moment. He restored Sans’s memories of the previous Resets.
Geno had been worried that he’d pushed too hard. That he’d broken his double, that he’d have to wait for another Reset to attempt his negotiations again. But it worked. At least, Geno thought it had. Sans agreed to help him.
But it’d all been a trick to drag Papyrus into the Save Screen. To get Geno’s baby brother to talk him down from the edge. They were convinced they could find there happy ending. Geno didn’t believe in happy endings anymore, but he let them try.
Apparently all it took to end this hell was a damn piece of butterscotch-cinnamon pie.

✍️ Never Ending Tale!!
Tumblr media
possible trigger warnings⚠️:
depression/anxiety.
mention of D*ath/Su*cide.
Psychological torture and trauma.
‼️The asking box is open, always!!
Tumblr media
-Sumary:
This AU revolves around Frisk being trapped in an endless cycle of resets whenever they die, no matter how they die. They are unable to escape this cycle and always end up back at the beginning of the game. As they continue to go through different routes and make different choices, they become increasingly mentally tormented.
-General Infos:
Frisk can't load after a true ending (pacifist/geno).
flowey can only remember the resets withing a run (like in the game).
no, sans doesn't remember the resets
frisk can only go back to the save points they saved Mid run when they die.
their determination is still there.
Tumblr media
-Lore, (I guess):
In this Undertale AU, Frisk has completed a true pacifist route and has been living a happy life with their new monster friends. However, one day they unexpectedly die, and instead of simply passing away, the timeline resets to when Frisk first fell into the Underground. Confused and sad, Frisk is grateful for a second chance and tries to attain their happy ending once again.
However, no matter how many times Frisk tries to live their life differently, they always end up in the same place when they die. They even attempt different routes, befriending or killing random monsters, but nothing seems to change the outcome. As days turn into weeks, weeks turn into months, and even years go by, Frisk's mental health deteriorates as they become trapped in an endless cycle of resets.
Despite their best efforts, Frisk can't escape the cycle. They try resetting mid-runs, hoping to debunk their misconception, but it's no use. Even if they die slowly, they always end up back where they started. As a result, Frisk becomes apathetic to life, barely reacting to anything, and ignoring the save points because they know it won't matter later.
Frisk's determination only grows with each passing day, hoping that one day they can embrace the freedom of death. However, the more determined they become, the stronger their resetting powers grow, causing the cycle to become even more vicious. The reason for this lies in Frisk's determination, which is also the reason they can reset in the first place.
During some of the resets, Frisk tries to find a way to get to the Core or the True Lab to see if they can find anything related to determination. They even manage to talk to Sans about it a few times, but he forgets everything in newer resets. Only Flowey can remember a few of the resets, but he can't recall any from other runs, only within the current run.
As time passes, Frisk's mental state continues to worsen. They spend days sitting in one spot, waiting for sweet death to take them, but it never comes. Despite everything, Frisk can't seem to escape the endless loop of resets, making for a bleak and miserable existence.

SF: Repeat.
I bet that word confused you for the longest time.
I know how it probably scared you for the longest time as well.
Because no matter what, you’ll have to do the same dance over and over again.
You can cower, you can bargain, you can scream and hope these threats will dissipate, but they’ll always be back eventually.
And even with all these words, you can never strike a nerve.
—Strike a punch.
You can never strike me down.
And yet you say the same things over and over, but now, where’s Chara, huh?
If she’s around, you’re in more danger then if you were alone, and you know it, you just cling to the same ideals and hopes, wanting to be useful.
Deep down, you feel fear, and it makes you weak.
And that is why I always win, you cannot muster any form of violence against the people you love.
—the people I loved died long ago, and I don’t feel anymore, and unlike you, there is no smothered emotion, it’s all gone.
And yet you’re still alive, and I think it’s time that there are no more repeats for you, no more lights to block out the dark.
I think it’s time you fight alone for the rest of your life, and then you will see..
That no one truly loved you, and no one truly cared for you.
You’ll live in the dark, in the shadow of other creatures just like you, and when you’re in there for too long, you’ll be forgotten.
You’ll.
Be.
