Slaughterhouse - Regulus Black/James Potter, 7.8k words

James was in the stands for the Quidditch final that year; Regulus was too far to see his face, but knew him by the blackness of his messy hair catching red in the bright sun that reflected on the golden frame of his glasses and the locket hung around his neck.

Regulus beat his own record by seventeen seconds, for the third time.

“Second year in a row.” James’s hot hazel eyes seemed to glow emerald green as he leant his forehead casually against the phosphorescent lake window. “Maybe I should switch over to Slytherin.”

“Maybe you should.”

“Keep drinking, Reggie,” James said, smirking down at him. “You told me not to let you stop drinking.”

“I do not remember doing that,” Regulus replied, though he brought his goblet to his lips. The alcohol burnt his throat like the old, familiar shame of his childhood.

James was beaming like the sun through the dark. The sounds of the party seemed unusually far away, the velvety golden light of the fire flickering behind the moving mass of bodies between them. Regulus felt oddly like he was dreaming.

I've been very normal about @arainmorn-art's narumitsu comic, Deciphering

(Seriously though, I've been screaming about it to my friends on discord for a few days now. It's so good)

Anyways, I decided to sketch some of my favorite panels from chapter 1 (and one from chapter 2) 👉👈

I'll be honest, I was planning on drawing my favorite panels from the entire comic so far, but it very quickly became a lot (because the whole thing is amazing). So if I do end up drawing all of them, I will probably take it a chapter at a time. For my own sanity.

By the way... I recently beta read @iwriteasfotini's fic chapter The Dark Lord which is... a Bellamortdolphus smut scene!!! (It's placed in a larger AO3 work but is just one Voldemort POV chapter and can be read completely alone. This scene starts at the beginning and continues to the line break)

It's pretty exciting so give it a read... ;)

Air and ocean spray ripping past me like a high pitch whistle singing to me, it kissed my cheeks and outstretched arm as I carved the sea green queens face. Smiled my hello while dropping down my knee with my left foot driving us along this yellow brick road. Eyes called up to the heavens above me, I laughed for a moment as the sun burned bright and clear through the glassy waters that wrapped around me. Enveloped me like the ocean were hoping to claim me because she was still salty about not finishing me off at Mavericks. Or how she'd given it her best go at drowning me when I was ten; flailing in a nasty rip current on a family vacation to O'ahu.

This beautiful vengeful gal, she was Life and Death.
