Okay, but hear me out… I’m rewatching Fantasy High: Sophomore Year, and in her first episode, Ayda Aguefort got crazy emotionally excited at Boggy the Froggy, and Adaine dressing him in his tiny backpack…

…she and Mary Ann Skuttle would 1,000% sit and talk Quokki Pets. Maybe she walks by when Mary Ann is feeding one, playing with it, Whatever One Does™, and stops, eyes wide and dilated, inhaling sharply, “WHAT!!- is that” and they hit it off from there.

So. She learned the familiar spell from Adaine... Mary Ann brings her a Quokki Pet of her own. But Ayda doesn’t do gifts, so she insists that to accept the pet, she must be able to either pay for it in value or trade something. Mary Ann doesn’t even hesitate before agreeing “Sure” to a trade. Later on, in the middle of who knows what, Ayda straightens suddenly, feathers bristling. “I have it,” she says, and without further explanation, promptly flies off and disappears.

She returns shortly afterward, having conjured a familiar that looks exactly like Mary Ann’s favorite Quokki Pet.

Ayda learns a person can have more than one best friend.

i get why everyone is obsessed w the other rat grinders (criminally underused in canon get those children a personality STAT) but mary ann skuttle is one of the funniest people in the world to me. every day since the finale i have thought about her asking gorgug if it "made him mad in real life" when she destroyed him at bloodrush. an icon if we are all being honest

i’m almost definitely biased but i recommend quokki pets: the animation

just a silly little series about the adventures of various quokki pets, it reminds me of godzilland (bizarre reference, i know) or hello kitty

Do you watch anime?

I usually struggle with TV in general, and staying committed to a series. The anime that are expections to that are Demon Slayer, which I've binged all of, and the first season of Vinland Saga. Ivy has made me watch random episodes of Kakegurui, which I don't see why she loves, they just get extremely horny for gambling from what I've seen.

I tend more towards content you can finish in one sitting/on a day off, so movies and novelas are more my jam.

ok I looked up quokky pet to see if it was actually a thing. it doesn't seem to be, but, Quokka is an animal and from this point on, I will assume that Mary Ann is raising one these fellas digitally
