grrr.... my boss came in and asked to talk to me for a moment and basically she was asking how I distinguish between production stock/my stock bc the stock/supply staff had insinuated to her that I'd been stealing their stock which I HAVEN'T!!!! I would never + my boss knows that but she still had to ask.... so annoying
#and i have PROOF i dont steal their shit bc i keep a meticulous spreadsheet of every sample in the food lab (my) stock#and i organise everything by location + have a separate section for stuff in the cold room that belongs to production#bc part of my job is managing emails from sales/marketing asking abt the production stock for test/developmental products#so i have to monitor it. but i dont ever ise those samples i fill out and email the request form to supply if i need one for smth!!!#*use#which supply would fucking know if they were competent at their jobs and fulfilled my requests without me chasing them up 16 times#half the time i have to go to quality control and request THEIR retained samples instead bc i dont get stuff in time#but qc stock is completely isolated from production bc its for assay use only and i always return the samples to them when im done anyway#the only reason theyre accusing me is bc they found a sample in one of my fridges that was logged on their stock system#but I DIDNT PUT IT THERE. THEY DID. i sent the fucking request form and they fulfilled it but didnt log it out of their own stock system#but i have their stupid form attached to a timestamped email i sent them so proof it was a legit request they fulfilled 👍#whatever......#im mainly just annoyed bc for some reason i thought it was almost 4pm and i could go home soon. but its only 2:30 sigh#at least my boss was impressed at my stock spreadsheet lmao she was like wow i didnt realise you were this organised#girl how do u think i respond so fast when u ask if we have xyz sample. of course im not going thru 400+ individual samples in multiple-#locations and boxes/fridges every single time just to find ONE thing. all i have to do is check my spreadsheet.....#i record batch numbers n manufacture/expiry dates of everything too they can go thru it if they doubt smth is mine lmao#i hate being blamed for shit i didnt do especially accusations of dishonesty. im not that shit at my job >:^/#.diaries

So. I'm taking a gardening cert class through an extension university. Really well written, great flow and presentation of content knowledge, concepts, as well as resources for where to read or how to find other knowledge sources. Great. Lovely.
Anyway it's supposed to run from Dec to March but I procrastinated badly and. I am doing it all in two weeks.
From an educator's perspective, the way I am completing this is Bad and Not Pedagogically Sound. I also just took the entomology quiz without reading any of the materials and got a 100% so :/

A relatively new addition to the cast of Duck Duck Goose, this is the malevolent and ill-tempered Little Bo Peep!
A ruthless little girl of blood and wool, she’s got a thin patience to those that oppose the goal of the sheep. She’s got quite the arsenal around her— a widespread flock of friendly looking little lambs that are much less cutesy when in battle. With relentless little manic sheep that are spotted all over the place, the sheep are spoken to have a vendetta against canine-kind and all things wolf-related, as they’ve grown tired of being thrown around and hunted so mercilessly by all the real big bad wolves of the world. When prey becomes predator, a leader is to be crowned to remind of the motive— and this is where Bo Peep— a girl perfectly fit for the job— comes into play.
Little Bo Peep is the human protector of these wooly little animals, and she’s been crowned to represent what they want— revenge; against all who have ever feasted their chop and harvested their wool. She’s uptight and snobbish— a total brat far too spoiled beyond repair. She makes the utmost perfect host for controlling, frolicking alongside the flock as it continues to flourish and grow. The sheep and their leader are the living proof not to trust all things cute and cuddly. In fact, they’re all proof that trust is a fragile virtue granted and destroyed— all you have to do is look into the gaze of Bo Peep the wrong way and you’ll find yourself with wool over your eyes!
Special thanks to @pazam, @menthum-mint and @shroingushour for some help with ideas for the finalized design! I had a little bit of trouble making her outfit a little more interesting initially, haha!
#HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER#she’s one of several planned antagonists actually#It might be somewhat hard to tell but she’s supposed to be like. little kid sized. she’s a child#the sheep with her are just. very small as well. lamb sized even.#They’re a real ‘quantity over quality’ type deal because what they don’t have in strenghr they do have in numbers#Like they don’t really have too much strength to them aside from some oddly differences compared to normal sheep#like these guys are smaller and way cuter and come in different colors#but it’s when they’re in large groups it becomes harder to manage#they’re surprisingly very widespread. they basically cover a lot of ground. they sorta know what they want and so does Bo Peep#Usually Bo is always seen with at least one sheep close by her side#she does use the scythe offensively but only should it be needed to#most of the time she sheep keep her guarded and make sure she won’t need to#And of course it’s also worth mentioning that like. Bo and Red have some beef with each other#because of the whole “antagonizing of wolves” thing. y’know#i mean there’s actually quite a story to her as well as Red#but like. well. there’s a lot I’m not saying on purpose :) those who already know already know :)#Little Bo Peep#Duck Duck Goose#Ocs#original characters#original stories#The Kiwi Draws

I will continue being gone for a few days, sadly my original al plan of releasing the newest chapter of The Consequence Of Imagination's Fear has also been delayed. My apologies
Can't go into detail because its hush hush not-legally-mentionable stuff but today is my fifth 12 hour no-break work day. I'm also packing to move too in a fortnight (which is a Big Yahoo!! Yippee!! I'll finally have access to a kitchen!! And no more mold others keep growing!!! So exciting!!!)
#syncrovoid.txt#delete later#OKAY SO! this makes it sound like i have a super important job but really we are understaffed and ive barely worked there a year now#graduated college a few years early 'cause i finished high school early (kinda? it's complicated)#now i am in a position where i am in the role of a whole Quality Assurance team (testing and write ups)#a Task Manager/Planner#Software Developer and maybe engineer? not sure the differences. lots of planning and programming and debugging ect ect#plus managing the coworker that messed up and doing his stuff because it just isnt good enough. which i WILL put in my end day notes#our team is like 4 people lol. we severely need more because rhe art department has like 10 people??#crunch time is.. so rough..#its weirdddddd thinking about this job since its like i did a speedrun into a high expectations job BUT in my defense i was hired before#i graduated. and like SURE my graduating class had literally 3 people so like there was a 86%-ish drop out rate??#did a four year course in 2 BY ACCIDENT!! i picked it on a whim. but haha i was picked to give advice and a breakdown on the course so it#could be reworked into a 3 year course (with teachers that dont tell you to learn everything yourself) so that was neat#im rambling again but i have silly little guy privileges and a whole lot of thoughts haha#anywho i am SO hyped to move!! I'll finally get away from the creepy guy upstairs (i could rant for days about him but he is 0/10 the worst)#it will be so cool having access to a kitchen!! and literally anything more than 1 singular room#(it isnt as bad as it sounds i just have a weird life. many strange happenings and phenomenons)#<- fun fact about me! because why not? no one knows where i came from and i dont 100% know if my birthday is my birthday#i just kinda. exist. @:P#i mean technically i was found somewhere and donated to some folks (they called some different people and whoever got there first got me)#but still i think it is very silly! i have no ties to a past not my lived one! i exist as a singularity!#anywho dont think about it too hard like i guess technically ive been orphaned like twice but shhhhhhhh#wow. i am so sleep deprived. i am so so sorry to anyone who may read this#i promise im normal#@:|

I watched a training on career development; the premise was that project managers should treat their career like a project. And one really stupid comment stuck with me: "salary should not be in your goals. That's like choosing your software before knowing the project requirements."
It was ironic, because one of his goals was "work-life balance at a remote workplace." 🙄
It was a lot of fluff about making lists of what you like to do at work and what you don't, and that somehow translates to finding your dream job. He discouraged using luck-based strategies, in favor of...a luck based strategy of mentoring people who will hopefully inspire you. 🙃
And I'm just like. "Ok, project manager. You haven't accounted for your assumptions."
But also. Knowing your budget is important to being a project manager. There's a minimum budget needed to succeed. If you're not planning that out early, you didn't really plan your project.
And I'm sitting there thinking that next, for me, isn't a reassessment of the tasks I perform. I like the tasks well enough. Next is getting a $50k-70k wage increase, to be in line with the industry average for people with my skills, performing my tasks, at my level of experience in this region. It's a 32 hour work week. And more paid time off.
I don't care if I get a fancy new title. I don't care if it's a more prestigious company. I don't care if there are more interesting challenges. I've grown my skills. It's past time to grow my lifestyle. And that's not going to happen from a like and dislike list, and mentoring people.
#i don't know why i bother with these trainings honestly#they're so shallow. i kind of want to rant about the courses about AI#they're basically marketing brochures. and one involved a weird spin on data#like. it showed that project managers don't see the value. but it's the wave of the future because senior leaders overwhelmingly expect it#they had the same data ratio showing that workers want remote work and senior leaders only think they're effective if they're in person.#in that example. it was proof that senior leaders are out of touch. and they supported it with data showing no difference for remote quality#it was just a way to pretend there's some value behind AI. but the speakers overwhelming don't understand it#they listed a lot of abstract value. but nothing of substance. no suggestion of tools that can and should be trusted#and no acknowledgement that having someone continuously checking that it worked right. is an extra step. not a time savings#i tend to spend more time questioning the competence of trainers than getting anything from these courses

Skull portraiture is amazing and it's a real shame that hasn't stuck around as a wide cultural practice.
Check out this amazing art from 9000 years ago:
More than 4000 years before the dynasties of Egypt, people were treating the dead in truly reverent and beautiful ways. It leaves me with little wonder that so many religious beliefs professed life's creation from clay. A skilled neolithic artist could keep a loved one with them for years after death by use of clay.
Would that your face looked that good 9000 years after death.
#the dawn of everything#is the book where I first learned about this#and I don't think they explicitly attributed reasoning to it#like we can't really know for sure why they did this stuff#but it seems so natural#to not want to give up a loved one#even to death#and this was a means they had to keep their visage around at least#surely the clay work would have been done to mimic the living person's appearance as much as they could manage#also I was reminded that ancient romans had funerary masks#they'd wear on certain occasions which resembled their deceased relatives/ancestors#like those were real people with inner lives as deep as ours#9000 years ago and before#it's wild and yet of course they were#why wouldn't they have been?#the immutable and timeless quality of humanity is really humbling

twitter shitheads have me thinking abt how even in my "female dominated nonsense job" the uni still decided they needed to add an extra boss above my boss (for retard reasons imho) and they hired a guy w no experience in education who makes a fat amnt of money judging for the clothing and accesories he wears yet almost never shows up to our team meetings so basically nobody sees him do anything and we barely know him. but he probably makes at least 3x what i make. hes in the us rn btw on a work trip so all expenses paid, etc, doing benchmarking on a university that doesnt even work as a benchmark for us because the type of online course it offers is very different. this is all while the rest of the team handles the day to day work of uhh building courses for real life students who get real life degrees off of them. sorry im jsut thinking abt this. lol
#m#mfw the nonsense job is most often the one of the strange rich middle manager whose position gets invented for .... like no reason#other thn upper management didnt wanna bother training my boss to do those parts of the job better i guess! cool how it all goes#also its funny to see where tuitions go (never ever to quality of the education itself. literally never unless you get sued or smth)#this is all even assuming online courses as they are rn are effective which..... is dubious! if i start thinkng abt this too much#i go insane im sorry

Unlocking Potential: The Importance of Certification in Quality Management
In today’s fast-paced and competitive business environment, organizations strive for excellence in every aspect of their operations. Quality management has become a critical focus, ensuring that products and services meet or exceed customer expectations. One effective way to enhance your knowledge and skills in this vital area is by pursuing a certification in quality management.
Understanding Quality Management Certification
Quality management certification is a formal recognition that an individual or organization meets specific quality standards established by recognized bodies, such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The most widely recognized certification in quality management is ISO 9001, which sets out the criteria for a quality management system (QMS). Achieving this certification demonstrates a commitment to delivering high-quality products and services consistently.
Benefits of Quality Management Certification
1] Enhanced Credibility and Reputation Obtaining a quality management certification significantly enhances an organization's credibility in the eyes of customers, stakeholders, and partners. It signals a commitment to quality and excellence, fostering trust and confidence among clients.
2] Improved Operational Efficiency Implementing a quality management system encourages organizations to evaluate and refine their processes. This leads to improved operational efficiency, reduced waste, and cost savings, ultimately contributing to a healthier bottom line.
3] Increased Customer Satisfaction By adhering to established quality standards, organizations can better meet customer expectations. Consistent delivery of high-quality products and services leads to increased customer satisfaction and loyalty, which are essential for long-term success.
4] Access to New Markets Many industries and clients require suppliers to have specific quality certifications. By obtaining quality management certification, organizations can access new markets and opportunities that may have previously been out of reach.
5] Continuous Improvement Culture Quality management certification fosters a culture of continuous improvement within an organization. It encourages employees to seek ways to enhance processes, products, and services, leading to innovation and growth.
Steps to Obtain Quality Management Certification
1. Assess Current Practices Evaluate existing quality management practices within the organization to identify areas for improvement.
2. Develop a Quality Management System Establish a QMS that meets the requirements of the certification standard, ensuring that processes are documented and understood by all employees.
3. Employee Training Train employees on quality management principles and the specific requirements of the certification standard to ensure their understanding and commitment.
4. Conduct Internal Audits Regularly assess the effectiveness of the QMS through internal audits, identifying non-conformities and areas for improvement.
5. Engage a Certification Body Select an accredited certification body to conduct an external audit. If the organization meets the required standards, the certification will be granted.
6. Maintain Compliance Continuously monitor and improve the QMS to maintain certification and adapt to changing industry standards and customer needs.
Conclusion
Certification in quality management is not just a badge of honor; it is a strategic advantage that can propel organizations toward success. By investing in quality management practices and obtaining certification, businesses can enhance their reputation, improve efficiency, and foster customer loyalty. In a world where quality is paramount, the benefits of quality management certification are undeniable. Organizations that prioritize quality will not only thrive but also set the standard for excellence in their respective industries.

I think I got someone at work fired and I've been having mixed feelings about it
#on one hand i believe she meant well and told the manager so#but on the other she was slowing down everyone else by criticizing how they stacked the boxes#and enforcing a strategy that was inefficient and time-consuming#and when i tried to use a faster and more efficient strategy while her back was turned i watched her literally knock over a built pallet#while chastising the guy who built it bc he didn't stack it to her unreasonable standards#yeah ig the pallets she built were prettier but the time wasted caused the lane to be the most backed up I've ever seen#and then when she complained on the app later she characterized me as a new hire who they'd just fired her out of nowhere for upsetting#ig because when i tried to defend myself and the others for not stacking to her standards i mentioned how we were told to do it in training?#which isnt the most efficient either but it's much faster than what she was making us do#side note getting vagued on the company app was certainly an experience#but like. i didn't complain to a manager bc i was upset#my hope was that she'd learn that her behavior was negatively affecting both her coworkers and the customers#latter due to the delay in sending packages to the distribution centers and bc many packages were getting crushed on the conveyor#bc it was so completely overloaded bc nobody could build a pallet without getting chastised#but. well she said she had been working there for 5 months#so maybe this was the last straw after many such incidents#especially since like. I've criticized stacking quality before too#but I haven't gotten in trouble#of course i didn't do anything like that#it's like. lay these flat if you can so they don't fall over + put bigger boxes in the corners so you can fit more on the next layer#but i don't tear down and redo a pallet unless it's gonna Literally Fall On Someone#idk i think a balance should be struck between speed and prettiness#it's tetris not a beauty contest#but i don't think she got that lesson she just thinks she got fired fir upsetting a 'new hire'#hence why i still feel really mixed about this

Are You Managing Your World or Is Your World Managing You?
With so many of us confined to limited movement during the coronavirus pandemic, I’ve been touching base (OK touching is a bad word) with colleagues, clients and close friends. The gist of the discussions have to do with “what do we do now?” An old title from my archives came to mind. I thought I’d dust it off and share. I hope this thought will be helpful to you as you figure out your “new…
