Anyway, do you know if there’s anything that we (as a community) could do? I’d be so down to help out any admins!

yeah that’s CRAZY to me. i could see some positions being volunteer work, but hearing about the hours they put in, with no recognition and in poor conditions naaaaaaaaah

As for help I really don’t know, i’m not affiliated with anyone who is or was on the admin team and they’re the one who would know best how to improve the situation. For now I think it’s important to speak up and relay their statements so that it doesn’t get swept under the rug and forgotten

Someone please do a whole OSHA assessment on the working conditions of the Federation. I've seen people tallying up their bills and I genuinely wonder how they stay afloat in the corporate world

we really have to take down the federation now bc they have poor working conditions. they really assigned one person to build a whole fence in tHE SCORCHING DESSERT NO LESS. that’s gotta be a breach on worker rights.

I hope this situation is resolved quickly. I hope Quackity and the cc’s are able to work to make conditions better. But in the meantime, we as an audience are going to need to be prepared for some things.

What things, you ask? Well, to begin, this situation is very similar to what happens when an unprotected labor force (in this case the admins/devs/etc) begins to communicate and band together for better working conditions (eg unions). The higher ups don’t want this. The higher ups are going to do anything and everything in their power to prevent this from happening. The higher ups WANT this labor force to be unprotected because it means that they can continue to take advantage of them and make more money off of their work. As more and more former (and, hopefully, current) admins begin to speak out, I can guarantee you that the higher ups will work to silence those still involved with the project as much as they can. If they think one of the current admins is giving out information or is about to go forward with their story, they will remove them first.

If this happens-if an egg admin suddenly stops showing up or shows up acting different than they normally do-it is because the higher ups have chosen to silence them rather than fix the underlying problem.

If this happens: WE NEED TO SHOW OUR SUPPORT.

If this turns into an actual strike on the side of the admins (which I feel would take the form of NONE of them showing up which would remove a majority of this server’s content and generate high audience support-and that’s without getting into a strike on the side of the building devs/writers/etc) we need to remember to support them. That means being vocal about what we want to see (better conditions) and letting those higher ups know that we stand with the workers.

If this becomes a strike-and I dearly hope it does-we as an audience need to support it and understand that the content we are used to may not be able to happen for an extended period of time. That’s the entire POINT of a strike; it’s disruptive.

This got away from me a little, but I think it’s important to note. I hope to fucking god that this situation is resolved quickly in favor of the admins. They have put too much time, effort, and soul into this project for some assholes in middle management to give them jack shit in return.

I feel kind of weird making this, but a couple of my posts got some decent amount of notes so I thought I'd share

It's been a while since I've stopped actively following qsmp. Months since I've liveblogged like I used to. At first I just needed a break from the community but still watched on my own time, then I got busy with work/college, and then decided to boycott in solidarity.

After Quackity's "response", I'm leaving QSMP behind for good. I had a lot of fun and genuinely loved this project, but seeing as the creator can't differentiate hate from valid criticisms and workers' rights, I'll do as he says and leave. I encourage my fellow brazilians and french mutuals to do the same. We clearly aren't welcome anyway.

A lot of ex-egg admins (including Dapper, Pomme, and Ramón) have posted statements on Twitter, I urge all those who are unaware of the situation to read them.

If you think we're just haters who want to see the project fail, please just save us both the trouble and block me.

If you're still watching something despite knowing the people who make it special are being exploited, please go fuck yourself. Your special interest is not more important than people's rights. There are ways to still consume your interest while showing support to the workers who, after Quackity's great response, are getting harassed and threatened for speaking up.

...to the defense of Aypierre, I absolutely, 100%, don't believe an entity so hellbent in torturing in all psychological ways possible the islanders would have been cool with the 50/50.

I DO believe Tubbo's plan could have worked, truly I do! What I DON'T believe in, is that the Eye, upon seeing the results, would not have found the most bullshit unfairly cruel excuse it could have come with to still get rid of one of the teams. This guy is Not Playing Fair for our cubitos folks. It wants blood, and it is amused of seeing the islanders trying to resist that, but that does not change that it Will Get What It Want.

Thinking about the fact that the federation have a "therapist" for the workers.

The federation that imprisoned Walter Bob for being to unique. Making 'an example' of him. The federation that Ron says values conformity, that he's scared of returning to. The federation that has scolded Fred for being friendly with Tubbo. That federation has a therapist?

No I don't think the therapist is there for the workers that therapist is definitely there to help keep them in line. To train them to think the way the federation wants them to. To stop situations like Walter Bob's from repeating.

The thing about Forever and Bad is that they don't know how to deescalate, and they start at 100 straight from 0 every time with each other. They will spend hours arguing about semantics that don't matter. They will go to the extreme ends of pranks (which as fun as the audio remixes were, spending hours trying to find the source was literal hell genuine psychological torment). They will go for the throat just to antagonize the other.

So no, I don't think Forever knows a thing about Dapper or the other eggs whereabouts. He just knows better about the way Bad operates, the way he lies and deflects. He's familiar with his crafty words and how he turns a conversation on its head. He knows that what Bad is being accused of is entirely likely, that he is not who he usually is when the eggs are around. And he knows that Dapper, beyond a shadow of a doubt, is who Bad cares for most of all.

This isn't something he can argue hours about, to chip away little by little like he usually does. For both the safety of the worker, because the longer they're locked up surely the worse off they'll be - and for the safety of Bad, who if he wasn't under extreme watch by the Federation, he certainly is now, after Tubbo very loudly accused him in his Federation office.

He goes for the throat, immediately playing a trump card that he knows Bad won't just brush off or ignore, because as much as Bad can be unpredictable, Forever knows that Bad cares about the eggs as much as he does. As questionable as his morals are, as slippery as he can be to pin down, Bad has always placed the eggs as the highest priority - and he needs Bad to have no choice but to be honest, or to knock him off guard enough that he'll give him something to work with.

Is it fair? Maybe not. But when has Bad ever played fair with him?
