Feel the POWAH!
Tumblr media
I've been following an artist named Aaron Blaise for the last few weeks and I've really enjoyed learning more and more about his process and how to make the most out of my brushes and art style.
One thing that you quickly notice with Aaron Blaise's works is that he LOVES to draw big cats, especially leopards and cheetahs.
Since I've been staring at those references for a while now, I decided to draw my own as a Primal Tabaxi Sorcerer.
I took some inspiration from the magic in The Dragon Prince and decided to make this character be empowered with fire magic and channel through the powers of the sun as a Pyromancy Sorcerer.
I like the idea of a pseudo-elemental mage that is almost like a Genasi through magical means rather than inheritence. Though thats just me spit-balling ideas.
What do you guys think? :D

Melina, Messmer and the Gloam Eyed Queen.
Disclaimer : this is not my theory. I saw it in a buried youtube comment and it rings so damn true I want you all to see it! From this guy, in this video.
Tumblr media
OK so I was watching a lore video and disagreeing with a lot of it. Good stuff though, and the comments were fun. As I scrolled, I saw this, which blew my socks away and is definitely my personal take now! (the comment is edited for readability)
Tumblr media
Melina is a daughter to Marika and Radagon. This is confirmed as she’s represented by a butterfly. The butterflies we can find in game all represent the children of Marika and Radagon.
Nascent butterfly represents Miquella, Aeonian butterfly represents Malenia, Smouldering butterfly represents Melina. And then in the dlc we’re introduced to Messmer and Black Pyreflies.
I like to believe that the children of Marika and Radagon come in twos. First came the twins Melina and Messmer, and then came Miquella and Malenia. The later share a contrasting theme, Miquella is cursed with eternal youth while Malenia is cursed with Scarlet Rot which caused her to rapidly decay, symbolizing old age and death.
And then we have Melina and Messmer who both share the theme of fire. Messmer has his own flame, a flame which is notably different from any other pyromancy in the game, his fire is more red and more aggressive. He is able to share his fire with his followers, his fire knights who cast incantations of Messmer’s flame. Then when we kill Messmer, we obtain his flame as a physical item.
Now Melina’s flame was black flame, and in contrast to Messmer’s flame which could burn away all physical things, Melina’s black flame could burn metaphysical things (being burned by black flame does hp damage because it’s burning your very soul) and just like Messmer, Melina was able to pass on her black flame power to her own ‘knights’ the Godskins.
And so Messmer went on to use his flame to burn the enemies his mother pointed him at, where as Melina desired to burn the things that she could, she wanted to burn the Erdtree.
Marika couldn’t risk Melina tearing down everything she had worked for, so she had Maliketh confront Melina and defeat her. Maliketh then took Melina’s black flame just as we take Messmer’s flame, and he converted it into destined death, giving Maliketh sole control over the only thing that can kill the soul, thus truly killing someone once and for all.
(Note, Maliketh didn’t have destined death when he defeated Melina, which is why she’s still around, he killed her, but couldn’t get rid of her for good, nor did he need to once he took her power away.)
So when we meet Melina, she doesn’t know who she is or what her purpose is, but in time, she ultimately arrives at the same conclusion once again, she wants to burn the Erdtree, even without her black flame, she’s still the same person. We can then see to her wishes and use her to burn the Erdtree OR we can spare her and burn the Erdtree with the flame of frenzy.
And then in the flame of frenzy ending, we see Melina take on a new form, her original form, the form of The Gloam-Eyed Queen. Why has she reverted to this old form?
Because we kill Maliketh and unleash destined death, thus returning Melina’s black flame power to her.
The idea of Melina and Messmer being twins is backed up further by their association with the serpents. Messmer’s association with the serpents is obvious, where as Melina’s connection relies on the theory of her being the Gloam-Eyed Queen, where she’d then be associated with the Godskins, and we know the Godskins are associated with serpents.
Tumblr media
My own musings...
What if Maliketh defeated Melina/the Gloam Eyed Queen, but let her be. Deafeated doesn't mean killed. It's possible she was burnt and bodiless because Messmer destroyed her. Marika already makes him do her dirty deeds with his subjugation of the shadowland, isn't it possible he requested he burn his sister so she could better control her as a spirit?
Things that don't really gel : why would Melina be "queen" of anything. Where would she have ruled? If she's an empyrean, as we know she was, where is her shadow bound beast, and more importantly, why wasn't Messmer? We know both Miquella and Malenia have no shadows (as far as we can tell) but were also both Empyreans despite the curse.
Perhaps it's because Melina inherited Grace, while Messmer didn't.
Perhaps the flames aren't the curse, but only the serpent inside of him. Making him uneligible, not only for grace, but also for empyrean status.
Now that I think about it, there's NOTHING to support this, but it's possible that Melina could have been the queen Marika puts in charge of all the shadowlands while she's off with Messmer in the Lands Between. There is a lot of death there. Maliketh and Messmer could have come for her together, Messmer burning her/returning her to Marika to control (and use later on).

Kuai Liang/Harumi x fem reader who is really dense and doesn’t realize the two are attracted to her. So dense the two of them have to spell it out for her cause no amount of flirting is getting through her head.
sfw or nsfw I really don’t care.
NONNY I ACTUALLY LOVE THIS WE NEED SOME HARUMI CONTENT! Also enjoy my totally original and not punny at all title
Pyromance
Kuai Liang (Scorpion) x Harumi Shirai x Fem!Reader
TW/CW: None, fluffy stuff, some flirting, reader being oblivious
A/N: Given that there's only a small tidbit of info on Harumi in Liu Kang's timeline, I'm going off of what little is mentioned in-game and on Wikipedia. Also deadass I want a mandarin duck so fucking bad.

🔥🏵️🔥🏵️🔥🏵️🔥🏵️🔥🏵️
You weren't sure why you were born the way that you were. But when a man with glowing eyes showed up at your crappy little cabin in the mountains, saying he was a god? Yeah, only you would have that kind of interaction.
You didn't believe him until he displayed his powers with fire and explained to you that your powers were only a danger to you.
Yes, powers. You had something called pyromancy, you could summon flames or heat things with your very mind and hands.
So when this "Liu Kang" told you about a clan in Japan called the Shirai Ryu? And that they would welcome you with open arms? You were hesitant to accept.
On one hand, your powers were dangerous, and if you continued to slip up you'd wind up burning your own cabin down, cause a wildfire or... hurt someone. That last one was your greatest fear.
But on the other hand? You'd never even been outside Montana. And Liu Kang wanted you to fly across the world to friggin' Japan? The thought scared you shitless.
You gave him your word that you would think it over for two days. Liu Kang offered to bring someone to you to explain how the clan worked, and you accepted the offer. Perhaps hearing from someone from there would help your decision along.
Liu Kang returned in a ball of fire, alongside him was a woman dressed in a gold and crimson kimono, her long, silky black hair hanging down past her shoulders, twin katanas slung from her obi.
This was Harumi Shirai, for whom the clan was named. Her husband, the Grandmaster of their clan, Kuai Liang was indisposed with new recruits, as was his younger brother Tomas.
She stayed with you, explaining the nuances of their clan and how open-minded they were to your situation. They offered to allow you to bring your comforts (which were admittedly few. You were a bit of a recluse out of necessity due to your powers.) to their compound if you accepted.
She was a beautiful woman, and her words and voice put your nerves at ease.
Of course, two days later. You accepted.
You found yourself in a bit of a culture shock, certainly. But true to Harumi's word, the Shirai Ryu were accepting of you in a way you never anticipated. Training with Kuai Liang allowed you to feel... normal. You'd never felt normal a day in your life. It was nice, to feel so in-place where you always were an enigma before.
Harumi and Kuai were very warm to you (pun intended!) as time went on and your skills flourished. You weren't one for combat, but you excelled in using your powers for defensive stances. When Harumi began teaching you to use her katanas (such an honor) she and Kuai were proud and impressed you used your flames now so effortlessly to ignite the blades without melting it.
To congratulate your progress, they had a custom blade made for you. You were honored that they accepted you so wholly and you found yourself wondering if you truly wanted to return to rural Montana after learning of all of the wonders you'd been blind to before.
What you never really realized though, was that Harumi and Kuai would often take time to spend with you, speak with you about things not related to the clan or your training.
Kuai would ask about your life, your hobbies. When you admitted you liked flowers, he gifted you two potted spider lilies.
Their alien appearance immediately enamored you, as you'd never seen them before, their bright scarlet colors catching the eye and brightening up your room.
And of course, with Harumi... She would join you in the baths. In Japan it was fairly common of course, just not as traditional as what was built in the Shirai Ryu compound.
You were never one for insecurities and Harumi loved that about you. In the baths you would talk about anything that would come to mind, and she would often find herself drawn to your hair, of all things. She adored touching it and putting the shampoo and conditioners in it for you, and combing it out. The color and feel of it beneath her fingers quickly became a favorite.
But despite all of this you were completely, frustratingly and blissfully unaware that Harumi and Kuai Liang were in fact romantically interested in you. Their little gestures were so obvious, it even had Tomas facepalming when nobody was looking because of how painful it was to watch you not even recognize their obvious intent to court you.
It became a topic of hushed gossip and side-betting amongst the clan, wondering who would crack first, or when--if ever--you realized what they were doing.
🔥🏵️🔥🏵️🔥🏵️🔥🏵️🔥🏵️
"I swear... She's so sweet... but so dense!" Harumi laughed, the back of her hand over her forehead as she laid on their bed.
Kuai Liang shook his head with a smile as he undid his robes, leaving his torso bare as he looked at his wife. He shared her humorous exasperation with your oblivious nature, but still found it endearing.
Kuai knelt on the bed and leaned over Harumi, giving her a soft kiss to her lips as she sunk her fingers in his dark hair, tugging it free of its tie; allowing the dark strands to fall around his face as he smiled down at her.
"Perhaps it is time we drop the subtlety, my love." Kuai said softly, resting on his elbow as he looked down at Harumi.
"Do you think we should?" She hummed, trailing her knuckles across his jawline, reaching up with her fingertips to gently trace the scar going down his face.
"I don't see why not. Otherwise we will be performing this dance for some time." He grinned.
"Kuai, what if she isn't interested?" Harumi sighed sadly, her brows raising in concern.
"Then we respect her wishes and accept her friendship instead. I would be glad for her companionship either way." He said simply.
Harumi's beautiful, Cupid's bow lips curled into a smile.
"You're right. Either way, having her close is a blessing. One we will accept no matter the context. We can speak with her in the morning."
🔥🏵️🔥🏵️🔥🏵️🔥🏵️🔥🏵️
You were standing beneath the sakura and plum blossom trees surrounding the sizeable pond in the compound. It was your favorite spot to be because it had the least traffic and the small bridge going over it was perfect for watching the koi as they danced beneath the water.
But your favorite place to sit was beneath the trees near the shoreline. Due mostly in part to the small flock of Mandarin ducks that called the compound home, the little feathery critters took a shine to you, especially after you nursed one of their flock back to health when her poor little leg got broken.
That and, well. They knew you had grapes at the ready, plus a small container of oats you'd feed them out of your hand.
The Mandarin ducks were the most gorgeous you'd ever seen; the males' colors were like a silky orchestra of hues and cute little plumages that admittedly looked a tad silly, but still looked beautiful. The females were lacking in the colors the males had, but you adored their little spots and speckles.
Oftentimes, you'd wind up with one of the younger males cuddled comfortably in your lap, tucking himself under his wings to nap on the silk of your robes while you stroked his feathers.
And it was here that Harumi and Kuai Liang found you, sitting beneath the trees, blossoms that had been shaken loose by the breeze falling around you like a beautiful rain as you fed the ducks from your palm, laughing to yourself as their little bills tickled your hand.
They stood there, merely watching for a few moments until Kuai nudged Harumi on, and they slowly made their way to you as a young female duck hopped into your lap, trying to snitch some extra snacks from you.
Their footsteps were light, to avoid frightening your feathery little companions as they closed on you.
Harumi spoke your name softly and you looked up with an abashed smile. "Oh! I would get up, but..." You looked done at the female water fowl in your lap, as she snuggled down, her tail feathers wiggling contentedly.
Kuai couldn't help but chuckle as he and Harumi sat next to you. The little birds seemed so fond of you. It was cute.
He slowly reached out to try and pet the female in your lap, but she puffed up and made a rather angry noise that plainly said "back off", which made you and Harumi giggle.
"It would seem your charm does not work on all women, my love." Harumi smirked.
"Yes, yes, that is painfully obvious." Kuai replied with a smile, shaking his head as the duck turned back around in your lap, accepting your soothing pets to her feathers.
"Is something the matter?" You ask them curiously.
Harumi and Kuai Liang exchange a long, silent glance which slightly concerns you.
"Kuai and I discussed something last night." Harumi told you.
"Okay..."
"And we both decided to ask you something." Kuai continues. "You understand the things we do for you? Not the training, but the smaller things."
"Like... My sword? And the flowers?" You say, your brows furrowing slowly.
"Yes." Harumi chuckles. "Do you understand why we did those things for you?"
You tilt your head. "To... be... nice?"
Harumi and Kuai chuckle together, grinning at one another at how sweetly oblivious you were. They look back at you and Kuai talks. "And you don't have any other inclination, dear? At all?"
Other inclination? What could--did he just call you dear? What could he be talking...
Your eyes get big and you cover your mouth in sheer horror, your face flushing in embarrassment as you awkwardly look away.
"Oh."
Harumi giggles and has to cover her mouth and cough to chase it away, Kuai Liang merely shakes his head and chuckles softly.
"We've been trying to court you. You're a wonderful person, an amazing woman." Harumi says, giving you a soft look. "We've both been rather... Smitten with you, as of late. We'd hoped you'd realize what our intentions were on your own, but..."
You cover your face and make an embarrassed squeak. "Oh, my god..."
"However." Kuai Liang said, holding his hands up. "We both agreed last night that if you do not reciprocate, we will still gladly accept your friendship."
Your hands drop and you look at them, the surprise evident on your face as you watch Harumi smile at you, her hand slipping into Kuai's.
"We hold nothing but respect for whatever decision you shall make." She told you.
You couldn't believe it. It just seemed so unreal..so unreal that these two amazingly strong, wonderful, beautiful people took a look at you and decided that they wanted you?
You. Of all the people they could possibly pick? A little country bumpkin from Montana?
You look down, petting your little duck friend as she contentedly snuggled you, a couple of her flock-mates snuggling your left thigh.
You close your eyes and take a deep breath.
"...I... I'm open to trying?" You finally say, giving them a shy smile.
Harumi and Kuai's tense postures dropped as they both smiled widely, and Harumi leaned in to kiss your cheek happily.
"We will do our best to prove everything we mean to you." She swears.
Kuai Liang moves towards you and leans in to do the same, his hand brushing your cheek. "We will do everything--"
He was cut off by the female duck in your lap turning around, her tail wiggling and her feathers fluffing up as she opens her mouth and makes more angry noises, making Kuai lean away from you before she is angered any further.
"Ah... The only woman you cannot charm!" Harumi teased as the two of you broke out laughing; whilst Kuai was still unable to give you the small display of affection his wife had given you, all because of the feathered menace that took residence in your comfy lap.
He merely glared at the offensive little bird in your lap as she snuggled back down, staring Kuai back right in the eye as if to say "try me".

I Quit...
The New Year was fast approaching as was the Vytal festival, and Pyrrha was feeling the stress of it all. She had so many worries, doubts and concerns that she was making herself ill. This was also making her team and friends sick with concern for Pyrrha's health.
So while alone in JNPR's dorm she made a decision. She was going to attempt to replicate a little ceremony her mother used to do, with a burning candle.
Pyrrha: Pyromancy I think is what it was called.
Sitting crossed legged on the floor, she took a deep breath and let it out slowly. Using a lighter to ignite the candle wick, both of which she had purchased at Beacon's commissary; she focused her emerald eyes on the flickering flame.
Pyrrha: AHHHH!
She fell backwards as she screamed, her flailing legs knocking the candle over, snuffing out the flame in melted wax. Shaking her head, she used her bed to help steady herself as she rose to her feet. Looking down she saw that the candle had burned down to a third of its original size.
Pyrrha: That's bullshit! There is NO way I'm letting that happen!
Pulling out her scroll she hit the contact icon from Professor Goodwitch. It was answered after two rings.
Glynda: Ms Nikos?
Pyrrha: Good afternoon professor, I just felt I needed to inform you first about a decision I have just made.
Glynda: Okay? And that is?
Pyrrha: I quit.
Glynda: WHAT?
Pyrrha hung up and moved towards the door of the dorm. Opening it, she saw her group of friends, but more importantly one she needed to speak to... immediately.
Pyrrha: Good you're all together. I have something I wish to tell you all.
Jaune / Ruby / Ren / Nora / Weiss / Yang / Blake: ...
Pyrrha: I just quit Beacon, in fact I'm quitting my tournament career, and huntress training in general as well.
Jaune / Ruby / Ren / Nora / Weiss / Yang / Blake: ...
Pyrrha: Oh, and Jaune?
Jaune: Yes?
Pyrrha: You're coming with me... I want your babies, and you will be giving them to me.
Ruby / Ren / Nora / Weiss / Yang / Blake: ...
Jaune: Huh? HEY!
Before anyone can do anything, Pyrrha moves up to Jaune, and slings him over her shoulder like a sack of flour.
Pyrrha: It's been a pleasure, and once we're settle you'll be invited over for the housewarming.
Pyrrha turns to leave but stops when Ruby suddenly appears in front of her. Emerald eyes narrow...
Ruby : I won't let you do this! Jaune's my bestie, and you can't just... HEY!
Ruby suddenly finds her self scooped up and held under Pyrrha's arm like a package from the post office
Pyrrha: You're coming too.
Ruby / Jaune: WHAT?!?
Ren / Nora / Weiss / Yang / Blake: ...
Pyrrha then walks off hauling the pair of lovable dorks with her.
Yang: Did that just happen? Like did it, really?
Ren / Nora / Weiss / Blake: ...
/=====/ I know it's a little early but... WISHING EVERYONE A SAFE AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

sooo I’m sick, got some time 🤷🤷🤷
Kung Lao gets his gossip from Johnny, then tells it to Raiden (who probably tells it to Tomas)
Liu kang knew the Lin kuei brothers when they were just kids
liu kang also helped train kuai liang to control his pyromancer (cause yknow he came from a line of cyromancers and how tf would they know what to do with fire when they use ice)
Bi-Han is older, but Kuai Liang is just barely taller, so whenever Bi-Han pulled the ‘I’m older card, Kuai Liang would pull the ‘I’m taller’ card (also despite being taller no one mistakes Bi-Han as the younger)….. Tomas is also taller than Bi han (just bc it would piss him off)
Raiden once pulled out an uno reverse card on Kung Lao after he tried to make Raiden pay a large bill (Kung Lao had to pay)
Liu kang’s hair took awhile to fade from the grey/white back to his original black
This being said his hair will revert back to grey depending on how much godly power he uses, so he literally has rapunzel hair (minus the length)
Syzoth gets cold easily, especially when in earth realm, so he is always bundled in blankets, sweatshirts, fluffy socks etc.
Bakara is basically a dad to everyone
Johnny is the best movie picker, and when he’s not it’s always on purpose
Liu kang has naturally good locks, it makes Kitana and Kung Lao jealous (mk11)
Liu kang and Geras are meet up at least once a month or one every other month
Liu kang is pretty much unrecognizable without a bandanna/headband (only people who can recognize him is Kitana and Kung Lao (sorta mk11 but can be both mk11 & mk1))
Tomas and Raiden often hang out a Madame Bo’s
Madame Bo is the ultimate mother/grandma figure, not even Liu Kang is safe
like she scolded him for about an hour for overworking himself with his godly duties
Shang Tsung tried (and failed) to befriend Raiden and Kuai Liang after the stairwell battle…. Didn’t end well
Mileena and Bi han would hang out and braid each other’s hair (bi han is better) and honestly gossip/shit talk
Bi Han has a deep and sorta raspy voice cause he obtained a bad throat injury (slit throat, crushed vocal cords, smth like that), also why he wears a high collar
Yes Tomas is one of the nicest people, but he is also one of the most scariest
Li mei surprising gets along with the Lin kuei and is one of the only people to get them to stop bitching at each other (the others is madam Bo and sometimes liu kang)
Bi han doesn’t flinch when fire/pyromancy is used around him (idk if that’s bc he’s cocky and a cyromancer or bc he was trained not to be scared) (I base this off the scene in cage mansion where everyone but bi han moved back when liu kang flared up)

Can you make a human romantic Yandere Ceruledge concept?
Hm... already quite the humanoid Pokemon, so now you get a Ghost Knight :)
Yandere! Human! Ceruledge Concept
Pairing: Romantic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Manipulation, Overprotective behavior, Possessive behavior, Violence, Death/Murder, Forced relationship.
Tumblr media
A human Ceruledge just seems like an undead bodyguard.
The Pokemon themselves already looks like a knight, so their appearance would be more like a ghost in a haunted set of armor.
This ghost is most likely due to a knight dying with regrets, but they're quite the flaming warrior in battle.
Knights who die this way and are revived are known as Ceruledge.
They are then left to roam the world like lost souls, some of them are malicious and ruthless... some aid lost travellers.
Which means, Human! Ceruledge are simply undead knights/ghost revived to be something new.
They can be an unnerving sight... or a sight for sore eyes.
You could've met this one by chance, having seen the undead knight late at night.
Maybe this once is one of the more nobel ones, searching for their forgotten purpose before they find you.
They're a purple knight with blue flames licking around their blades and helmet.
Inside the armor it's hard to tell what they look like... but glowing purple eyes peer back at you mischievously.
Ceruledge are different than Gallade, they speak an older language and care more about acting like knights of old.
Ceruledge would still stick close to a traveler such as you, curious about your modern life.
I like to imagine there's a generation gap, like they were originally alive during the medieval ages.
Now they're traveling beside you, playful yet curious about this new age.
Ceruledge are skilled in fire attacks, in this case that would be considered pyromancy.
Your Ceruledge wields two ghostly fire blades as their chosen weapon, the fire a new ability given to them upon revival.
Ceruledge may try to court their obsession like a knight.
They're mischievous, but they know chivalry and defend you.
Due to being ghosts, they'd probably bind themselves to you.
Like being haunted, essentially.
When attached, they want to dedicate themselves to you.
They can do that as a ghost.
The good news is you have an undead guardian to look after you.
The bad news is they don't take potential rivals well.
One moment your Ceruledge is putting away their blades, whispering old poems of love towards you as they lightly touch your cheek...
The next they're drawing their blades and threatening some poor soul for "dishonoring you".
You could interpret their behavior as overprotective... but it's most likely them being possessive.
They try to keep themselves in check for you.
After all... a knight must protect the one they pledge themselves to.
However... how much of a surprise is it when they do harm someone.
They could burn them... slash them... maybe it's fatal... or maybe they'll just curse them with some sort of ailment.
Being a Ghost, Ceruledge can be cruel.
They hate others around you.
So much to the point that playing fair or courting slowly may not be enough for them.
It's not like they're under your total control.
They were still once human.
So really... what's stopping them from slashing those in their your way?
It's certainly not you.
Ceruledge would scorch the world for you, they would spill the blood of countless to have your adoration...
Maybe they'll bind you to them with a curse... or maybe make their rivals suffer a bit more...
Ceruledge may make it seem like they listen to your every order...
In reality, you're at their mercy... and they'd do anything to have you to themselves to serve.
"My beloved, I am your servant til death... your death to be more precise."

Round 4 - Pyromancy (fire) 2/2
Tumblr media
Propaganda under the cut (beware of potential spoilers!!)
Zuko:
Was a great firebender and was taught by the originals firebenders, the dragons, to not harness his anger but to harness the true source of firebending.
He shows that the source for fire isn't hate and anger, and that fire is a life force, that it can be used for more than genocide and murder. Also has the best redemption arc in fiction.
Lavagirl:
No propaganda :(

I WANTED TO MAKE MORE THAN JUST THIS but it took like. a week to get done and im sick these days
anyways in light of mk1's nonsense i revisited some koncepts i had for a roleswap au. i took hanzo's inspiration from a mix of mkx and mk11 outfits and kuai i kind of just winged it based off my own preferences in past appearances!!
more rambling is under the cut about the actual AU :-]
PLEASE DO NOT REPOST MY ART ON ANY OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA OR CROP THEM FOR ICONS. THANK YOU!
SO I HAVE NOT ACTUALLY DEVELOPED THIS BEYOND SOME OLD SKETCHES I HAD OF KUAI'S DESIGN but i had some general ideas of how this was supposed to work???
the shirai ryu is still alive and well! he's still a family man and very clan oriented. satoshi is still born and grows into his clan's responsibilities, however harumi dies in child birth.
the lin kuei on the other hand is Not Doing Well. they end up getting wiped out during a raid from the shirai ryu and most of kuai's immediate family (whether by choice or blood) ends up going down with them.
prior to this kuai ends up passing after a failed mission to retrieve the map of elements from the shaolin temple in an attempt to prove himself to his clan. (instead of bi-han being the one set on that path, kuai ends up taking the initiative instead WAY before he's ready without anyone's knowledge and ends up dying when met with scorpion.)
most of it is similar how it is in actual canon for how scorpion's story goes. he gets resurrected he pledges loyalty to quan chi in order to get revenge, blah blah blah. mortal kombat happens. the two meet again at some point.
kuai's still on that "you killed my family" juice but its...more so about familial ties (like bi-han and smoke) rather than it being the love(s) of his life (like hanzo's wife and son) , seeing as he died young from his own overzealous nature.
very much has anger issues. he's impatient and has alot shorter of a temper by comparison to scorpion in the original canon. hardly ever humbled until that point lol
hanzo on the other hand is surprisingly more lax. meditates often, drinks alot of tea and while he *IS* stressed he handles it alot better than kuai does. maybe has a problem of ignoring his problems though for the sake of the task at hand.
kuai ends up harassing hanzo alot in this AU even outside of the tournament. he's kind of a bitchy ghost there to remind hanzo of what happened to him and lowkey hanzo guilts over it.
kuai has alot of grim reaper motifs in his design. he carries a scythe made of ice primarily and fights at a more long distance range.
hanzo on the other hand is alot more of an up close brawler. he keeps alot of design traits from mkx with a bit of mk11 sprinkled in for inspiration of his "classic" design.
STILL A PYROMANCER!! i just havent thought out how. he's just regarded with a bit more respect for having those unnatural abilities lol
but yeah this is just me spitballing in bullet points. i'm hoping to make more stuff later that is a bit more...thought out properly but it follows more of like
mk mythologies --> mk9 -> mkx
type of timeline i guess? except hanzo is in bi-han's position and kuai ends up being put in scorpion's. bi-han doesn't really have a place in the AU outside of being a background character and driving motive for kuai's vengeance later on. (though we're not gonna talk about how bi-han's mentality eventually fed into kuai's at a young age and made him come to the conclusions he did before he died.... maybe.)
smoke exists for the sake of painful flashbacks lol
satoshi's also a bg character but he does end up growing up with the shirai ryu and takes on his own share of clan responsibilities. idk whether or not he takes after hanzo's pyromancy or not in this AU but either way he grows up to be a well respected figure in the clan!
alot of stuff outside of this remains the same though, just the lin kuei and shirai ryu's dynamics get swapped.
ANYWAYS YEAH IF YOU READ THRU ALL THIS THANKS FOR READING BYEEEE (i'll be adding to this au more later on when i finish my other sketches lol)

HEADCANONS THAT HAVE BEEN IN MY HEAD FOR WAY TO LONG
Kuai Liang was a miracle/rainbow baby.
Kuai Liang is my beloved and I love him BUT he’s always getting favoured treatment in regards to his backstory and development so I’m gonna add more to it.
I can’t guess AT ALL what the gap between all the brothers truly is, initially I thought Tomáš would be the middle child with baby brother Kuai Liang but that seems to be replaced with Tomáš being the baby and Kuai Liang being the middle child, but it’s whatever.
Regardless, by birth and Lin Kuei's bloodline, he is the youngest and my guess is that they have a 3-5 year age difference. Once Kuai was born, he was always regarded as more special because of the tragedy before his birth (multiple tragedies I suppose). Bi-Han did not have the kindest of childhoods, even if he can't remember all of it, because when he saw his baby brother for the first time he was overjoyed. His parents were happy, nobody was yelling at him and he saw his father genuinely smile all the time holding baby Kuai. The birth of the younger brother was a cause for a huge celebration and the years following were of prosperity for the clan.
For Bi-Han there wasn't really any jealousy towards Kuai Liang, that was his baby brother whom he loved so so much, but that didn't mean that he didn't notice how his parents gave the younger more attention due to the discovery of his pyromancy, which was Bi-Han's guess but only one of the factors for the increased attention.
Though physical training didn't begin until later, academics and lessons were still taught with just as much as a set schedule as one would expect of crown princes, he WAS the heir for THE grandmaster title and role, he had to study and be knowledgeable just as much psychically skilled.
When it came time for physical training and honing the skills of ice, the Grandmaster wasn't one to discriminate his teaching style or let anyone baby Bi-Han just because he was the heir, if anything he was given more burden and responsibility to train harder.
*Sorry for the tangent, I promise I'll go back to my original thesis*
So little Bi-Han had been studying and then eventually training, so once his lessons were done he loved rushing to find his brother so that they could play because duh they are children, and of course, baby Kuai loved seeing his older brother and spending time together.
The realization of how different expectations were set for them was when Kuai Liang didn't have to spend as long in lessons, had their father help him out or their mother would vouch to ease on certain training exercises, not to mention whenever Fire Lord Liu Kang visited, he too would spend more time with Kuai Liang (Bi-Han was obviously busy in training and lessons).
The more favoured treatment and kindness Kuai Liang received from everyone, especially his parents put together the puzzle pieces in Bi-Han's mind that his brother had something he didn't, but he couldn't figure out what it was but he knew that they were definitely not treated the same.
You know when younger siblings do stuff but older siblings get blamed, yeah you can't tell me Kuai Liang didn't get away with stuff by looking at their parents with his beautiful brown eyes (he can do no wrong) but that meant that Bi-Han often got those punishments which usually resulted in longer and more strenuous training with a sprinkle of memorizing more of realm texts and geographical maps (idk what a clan of "Earthrelm defenders" study). BUT, Kuai would sneak in treats or snacks to cheer up his brother, who could never really stay mad at him for long.
Now onto the more fun part, Tomáš. Obviously, the guilt of Lin Kuei being responsible for killing Tomáš' family was a lot for the grandmaster so the treatment of Tomas was quite similar to Kuai Liang. I wanna they were like 8/10/15 respectively at the time Tomáš was taken in.
The real differences were too hard to ignore at this point because his father so clearly favoured Kuai Liang and now Tomáš, and well to any angsty teenager eventually you have to have had enough.
Now Bi-Han may have had a more complicated relationship with his father , whom he saw as a "Grandmaster" an older authority figure more than a parent but his mother was his safe space, when Tomáš came into their lives, their mother knew that this child just lost his family and must have felt compelled to give him the same love as her own children. Kuai Liang, who we've seen in Canon is usually a Tomáš supporter, is no different here, yes at first he was confused but like most kids, you play with each other here and there and you become friends.
Teenager Bi-Han sees the love and softness from his father given to Tomáš, his baby brother now considers Tomáš a friend and basically a brother, and attention is also given to Tomáš and even his mother, who pats Tomáš’s head and makes his favourite meal, all of which he feels cheated out of. What can you do though? He can't force the others to stop so he has to embrace Tomáš as well; begrudgingly, from a distance and in short bursts. He is not affectionate or close to Tomáš but I don't believe he doesn't consider him a brother or atleast some sort of family, no signs of the story mode gave any indication of him denying brotherhood, pure blood Lin Kuei sure, but if the brothers are in their late 20s it's been atleast a decade and anyone can get used to someone's presence in that time.

DAY FOUR: FANTASY
A little ref sheet for an original setting I've been working on! I'll drop the notes under a break:
So this setting is currently going by the name of Constellationverse! It's (currently) a sort of modern fantasy setting on an earth-like planet. Everyone is born with at least a little magic by birth sign (fire, water, air, earth), a little from a ruling planet, and sometimes a constellation.
In this case Lance gets Fire magic, Plasma magic (from the sun), Light magic (from Venus), and reptile husbandry which extends to dragons too (from Draco). This all essentially manifests as doing things like magic-infused flashbangs, general pyromancy, and interacting with wild dragons. (his hair is a bit sun-bleached because of the light magic he uses)
His Supernova magic (a short burst of high power, typically a last resort since it leaves the user really weak and even needing hospitalization in some cases) gives him a few draconic features and some dragon strength on top of what he could already do.
He makes his home in a northern territory of the Fire Union, since that's an area where dragons tend to migrate in cold seasons. His Dragonite translate to Southeastern Dragons-bulky and made for swimming around while also gliding over water for long distances. Dragons are part of the world but are still relatively unknown, so he spends his time researching them in their natural habitats.

Having many assorted Caitha thoughts as usual 🤔
But I really think her and Nahr Alma being related makes a lot of sense! Both are connected with death and darkness, but also the blood/tears duality! Caitha displays both as seen from her rings but her focus is blue/tears, so could Nahr Alma have focus of red/blood but also have the 'tears' somewhere on the fringes?
I considered the idea of them being siblings and children of Velka; her color is purple (so, red + blue) and she is another God connected to Dark (most prominently so, too!) Nahr Alma's statue also literally holds scales in one hand, a common depiction of justice, and Undead Purgatory is called 'Execution Ground' in Japanese! But at the same time, Velka herself doesn't bear any connection with death...
Titchy Gren, a spokesperson for Nahr Alma, however, uses Caitha's Chime, one of the only three catalysts that can only cast Hexes (so, Dark), and other three are created from souls of daughters of Manus! The Hexes Titchy Gren uses are also Dark Hail and Dark Orb - dark magics that originally were borne of corruption of Abyss of Manus! I joked that Caitha and Manus fucked, but it makes a lot of sense and I don't know if it's cursed or cute. So, Nahr Alma would be the child, reasonably falling for bloody, "evil" side of Caitha as opposed to inheriting the duality, let alone her learning into "compassionate" one! That'd make Nahr Alma half-God if not quarter-God, but it isn't a big deal in Dark Souls 2 lore as even a simple human (Pharis/Evlana) is revered as God! So, yeah, Caitha fucks every wet cat man with a sob story or...... Nahr Alma is a result of gay sex with Velka.... I mean we never know how Gods bodies work or what they can do ghghdhhjn I just think there is a good way to connect these three characters. The weirdos and the feared ones amongst Gods.
Another interesting thing about Caitha is subtle connection with the Curse as it is known amongst Dragons (crystallization)! 1) Her symbol in God's name selection screen is literally a Curse icon, that specific skull 2) Her tears literally turn into crystals 3) Nito, the only other significant person connected with death, seeks eyes of Basilisks who are small relatives of Dragons and cast curses too 🤔
@val-of-the-north convinced me on the idea that Caitha is just a daughter of Nito; even if he himself wasn't a God, his EX wife (mind an empty coffin next to him) was! And she was a titular Goddess of water and life (Mask of Mother that all acolytes of Nito have and not just Pinwheel sticks out and has watery motifs, Leydia Witches not only causing disease but healing too, water pool just before Nito's arena being birthing grounds for skeleton babies that always spawn). Nature of Caitha's tears is primarily that of grieving and mourning, she has connection to death like Nito and kindness and water like her mom! Also Church of the Deep used to be her domain before Deacons retooled it.. which could explain why Aldrich uses Nito's Gravelord blade (only drenched in purple light, trademark of Dark)! He could have simply appropriated it from Caitha!
The thing is? Daughters of Chaos were possibly involved in invading Nito's domain to steal his powers to kill Gods! Effigy Shield looks a lot like a face of their Demons (Ceaseless Discharge particularly), and Undead Dragons are simply severed upper half..... when, coincidentally, lower severed halves of dragons are found in Izalith... There is also Vamos oddly having small pool of lava to smith with, knowing how to use Ember from Izalith to weave Chaos into weapons and having mysterious ties to a royal family that he no longer wishes to speak of! I remind you that Jeremiah, another user of Chaos Pyromancy, is known as a King!
Undead Dragons appear to be Dragons wounded by Nito's "miasma of death" but unable to die because... well, they're Dragons... So, if Chaos Daughters had Dragons by their side upon invasion, perhaps this is how Caitha got harmed by Dragons crystallic curse? She was protecting her father! As a (demi)God, she would not just turn into mass of crystals and perish, but some effects were set. Like her crystal tears. Maybe her very body was slowly suffering from crystallization, too?
And you know what else? Titchy Gren sells Great Scythe, that is in Dark Souls 1 found IN Nito's Catacombs, and the only magics he sells are Chaos Pyromancies! These might have been remnants of the defeat of Chaos Daughters that were appropriated by Caitha's allies!!!! Who would also be Nahr Alma's allies, even if they don't really give their compassionate mother a good name!!!!!

Magics of the World
Figured it was high time to start explaining some lore, and since it'll be a focus of the next chapter, I suppose the magic system is a good place to start.
So the Magic of this canon is based on the existence of 4 different existences. The Where that magic comes from. That being the Planes;
The Mundane; Where the story at large takes place. Finite spaces where you'd find humans, mutants, aliens, the usual stuff. It's the central Happening spot, with shaky origins as to why it exists at all.
The Primal Plane; This is where ANY AND ALL Elemental magic comes from. And we're not just talking the commonly thought of Fire, Water, Wind, Electricity, Ice, Earth, nope. It's E V E R Y T H I N G. If there's a magic school for it, it's found here. The Primal Plane is an endless expanse, seemingly, where the local zone is what determines the types of magic you'll find in your world. From Technomancy to Pyromancy to Astromancy. The Primal Plane is also, incidentally, where elemental creatures would reside or originate from, from raw elementals to dragons, quetzals, and kitsune.
The Nthotay; One of two Conceptual magic planes. This one is of Light and Order, and where you'd find creatures you'd classically hear called "Angels" or "Angelic."
The Nthatic; The other of the Conceptual magic planes, this one, of course, being the polar opposite of the Nthotay, embodying Darkness and Chaos. You'd find creatures you'd classically hear referred to as "Demons" or "Demonic."
So how does one actually Cast magic? There's a few ways, but two overall reasons you can cast magic. Either you, A; Are from one of the "extraplanes" (aka Not the Mundane), or B; Have something from the extraplanes with you. Be it a flower, crystal, scar, or even a possession or familiar from the extraplanes, any of these with the correct attunement and practice can allow you to cast magic. And once you're attuned to such an item, you're ready to go on your magic journey, from the lowest level flicking your wrist to light a candle, to sending meteorite swarms from your fingertips.
