In MM, the Mask Salesman tells Link that after a meeting, a parting follows, and how long that parting lasts it's up to Link.
That was wise advice, but I never understood it, because the game ended with Link parting away from Termina, Navi never returns, why was there wiseness in the Salesman's advice?
But I watched the ending again, and Talt says to Link "Go home"
And I think I have figured it out.
There's one single character in the game who Link leaves behind at the start of the game. There's even a black and white memory in which Link leaves, he leaves Zelda.
He can't control when/if Navi can return, he can't control the fact that people leave, but he can control his next action: going back to Hyrule/Zelda.

Trying to force myself to slow down a lot this year. It's okay that I'm not reading as fast or as often as I did before. It's okay that I don't write as fast or as often as I did before. It's okay that I'm not engaging in things I once did as often. It's okay to slow down without feeling guilty about it. No one is running after me with a damn bat. I don't need to be so hard on myself for no reason so I can keep finding the joy in it.

if you're not reading the last book of SVSSS right now do you mind me asking what you are reading? I'm just curious!
Definitely! (though I warn you, I'm fundamentally incapable of reading only one thing at a time)
For physical books, I'm currently reading The Warden by Daniel M. Ford, the novelization of My Neighbour Totoro, and trying to keep up on Dracula Daily (i am failing this)

For audiobooks, I've been relistening to The Series of Unfortunate Events (because I never actually read them all when they were originally coming out) and I juuust finished This Census-Taker by China Miéville and Ogres by Adrian Tchaikovsky this weekend. I'm about to start A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers.

Our scene opens on a Little Mr. Puzzles!~
Started brainstorming this yesterday and finalized the design + colors tonight! I can guarantee you that in my heart of hearts I am a firm believer that as a child Puzzles was the most energetic, optimistic, sweetest little boy. He wasn’t always messed up in his methods for maintaining control and I wish we could all collectively take a moment to think about that smol child within that still wants to be loved and cared for. Because social rejection and isolation sure does take a toll on you after a while once you’re cut off from your peers and rely solely on T.V- geez poor guy had it so rough huh
So of course I had to make up my own design/personal rendition of child Mr. Puzzles! Gave him braces that resemble the colors of his future T.V head teeth, leaned into that retro clothing look and made it into a homage to film production (since I recon even as a kid he’d be a nerd about behind-the-scenes process of making movies lol). So there’s film reel patterns + projector icon. Last notable detail is the puzzle patterns on the hat & shoes as foreshadowing to his future (aka present day) Puzzles design :))
Very proud about how he looks here very adorable and precious

All the craft groups I’m on because I like seeing people’s creations seem to be full of people making blue fucking puzzle pieces and talking about cure rhetoric.
Some of them respond well to having full facts about how fucking awful Autism $peaks, ABA and eugenics are when I drag all the trauma, the eugenicist discourse from medics I dealt with during my pregnancies, the terror I feel about how my wee brother could be treated, and why I personally would shy away from anyone wearing a blue puzzle piece for them. Others apparently would rather scream “hater”. I’ve been called a “TikTok autistic” more times than I can count.
When TS Eliot said “April is the cruellest month”, he had no fucking clue.
I’m so tired.
