Destroying a Medical Superpower
I was 17 in the late Summer of 1972, and I wanted to marry a nurse. I met her when she woke me up from my hospital bed at 3 AM in the morning. She was checking in on me after a bad concussion (suffered at football practice) placed me in the hospital for three days. I never saw her again. It was my first encounter with a nurse. Nurses have an indispensable function in our healthcare system. I have…

Hopeless and Helpless
Psalm 82: 3-5. Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course. This is an interesting psalm. Asaph sees destruction and devastation all around him, and even seems somewhat angry…

I am feeling very hurt today.
For context, I went to high school in well-off, suburban Utah, although I didn't grow up there. My family still lives there. It's a VERY Mormon- and white-dominated location.
Last night, I was on the phone with my mom, just catching up, making plans for the weekend, the typical Phone Home Because Your Mom Misses You.
She told me that there were plans to build a warming shelter for the homeless in the town. I was excited -- I'd just been to a workshop about homelessness, and me and my friends had exchanged some heartfelt stories about our experiences with homeless friends, family, ward members, et cetera. But then she followed it up by telling me that many folks in the town were strongly against it -- mad that there would be a warming shelter in the town, yelling about it on Facebook groups, protesting at city council meetings. None of them wanted a warming shelter in their town. Hundreds of people, upset.
I've never felt more disheartened. Over half of the people in that town are members of the Church. The chances that there were Mormons at that city council meeting, yelling angrily about a warming shelter are astronomically high.
What God are they following?
What Christ did they get baptized to?
What scriptures do they read? Did they not get the chance to read Proverbs 19:17, Matthew 25:35-36, Luke 3:11, James 2:15-16, 1 John 3:17, Deuteronomy 15:11, Psalms 82:3-4, Proverbs 14:31, Isaiah 58:10, Mosiah 4:16-26, Alma 34:28-29, Mosiah 18:28-30, 3 Nephi 12:3, or Jacob 2:13-17?
What commandments are they following? What "love one another" do they ascribe to?
What has the name of Christ become in this day and age?
The devil turning evil into good and good into evil has never been so obvious. What perversion of gospel principles can possibly lead someone to riot against a warming shelter -- not even a homeless shelter? A place for people to stay alive in the blistering cold.
"Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." The 'members' that have fought against this have, effectively, spit in the face of the Lord. Where has Christlike compassion gone?

Showing partiality is an abomination created by the Devil so he could steal ruler ship over the human race. Under God’s law if a judge was partial he could be put to death.
Evil government can’t exist without partiality it is a tool to cause class warfare, and special interest creating a crowd to do the dirty work for coward leaders to hate and destroy our neighbor in the name of flag and country! The same leaders claiming special rights to cheat, lie, and steal without being judged.
Psalms 82:2 "How long will you judge unjustly, and show partiality to the wicked?" Selah.
Romans 2:11 For there is no partiality with God.
Colossians 3:25 But he who does wrong will receive again for the wrong that he has done, and there is no partiality.

Prayer and ritual for Hoodoo Heritage month
Divine Creator,
I light the Red candle to bring Love, passion, and victory to the African American community that still suffer under the oppressive White supremacist system in the United States.
I like the Pink candle to bring Affection, romance, and spiritual awakening to African-American community that still suffers under an oppressive spell cast upon them since slavery.
I light the Orange candle to bring Change, opening the way, and prophetic dreams so the African-American community can see the future of continuing to make better decisions for our community.
I light the Yellow candle to bring Money to eliminate racial wage disparity, to bring cheerfulness, and devotion to an otherwise miserable and poor African-American community.
I light the Green candle to bring Wealth, success, and good luck to the African American community.
I light the Blue candle to bring Peace, harmony, and healing to the African-American community that have been suffering because of the racial disparities in this country.
I light the White to bring Purity, spiritual blessings, and uncrossing.
I light the Purple candle to bring Mastery, power, and ambition to those in the African-American community that would benefit from it.
I light the brown candle to assist in the unfair Court cases, neutrality and politics and drawing money into the African-American community that's been suffering because African-Americans only earn 70% of what white Americans earn.
And finally the Black candle too combat Repulsion, dark thoughts, and freedom from evil.
Here is a prayer to accompany this ritual invoking the appropriate Orisha, Saints, and Psalms:
Oshun, Orisha of love and beauty, we call upon you to bring love, passion, and victory to the African American community. Saint Barbara, protect us from oppression and grant us strength. Ogun, warrior and protector, help us eliminate racial wage disparity and bring cheerfulness and devotion. Saint Joseph, patron of workers, intercede for us. Psalm 23:1 - "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want."
Orunmila, Orisha of wisdom and divination, bring us wealth, success, and good luck. Saint Patrick, bless us with prosperity. Psalm 1:3 - "He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper."
Obatala, Orisha of peace and purity, grant us harmony and healing. Saint Raphael, healer of the sick, be with us. Psalm 34:18 - "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit."
Olorun, supreme deity, bless us with purity and spiritual blessings. Saint Clare, guide us to spiritual clarity. Psalm 51:10 - "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me."
Shango, Orisha of power and justice, grant us mastery, power, and ambition. Saint Jude, patron of the impossible, intercede for us. Psalm 18:32 - "It is God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect."

Oya, Orisha of winds and storms, combat repulsion, dark thoughts, and bring freedom from evil. Saint Benedict, protect us from harm. Psalm 91:11 - "For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways."

I got so much done today, which is good because we'll be gone the majority of the day tomorrow at the water park. I can't wait! We usually only go once, sometimes twice a year, but it is fun. I like the slides, which might be strange since I'm not really a thrill seeker, but my favorite part is the water playground as long as there's not too many people over there.
I'm also excited to hang out with E and H again. We haven't really seen each other that much this summer compared to once or twice a week during the academic year.
I should also make a note to catch up on my Bible 2 summer reading. I still need to finish 1 Samuel before starting Bible 2. Maybe I can do that on Wednesday. It won't take that long since there aren't many chapters left.
I can't think of anything else to write about today, but I am posting before my bedtime tonight! That's a positive. With that said, goodnight!
P.S. I also completed a one year streak on Duolingo and Section 4 (A2) of Spanish! I am doing legendary for Section 4 right now for review, but once I start Spanish 3 in a couple of weeks, I will start working on Section 5 (B1).
Tasks Completed:
History 9 - Learned about Richard Wagner + studied the Ring Cycle, Die Walküre
KA GRF Algebra 2 - Completed Unit 3: Lesson 12 + Unit 3: Quiz 4 + Unit 3 Test
Duolingo - Studied for approximately 30 minutes (Spanish + French + Chinese) + completed daily quests
Piano - Practiced for two hours in one hour split sessions
Reading - Read pages 42-82 of The Luminaries by Susan Dennard
Chores -  Cleaned my bathroom + cleaned windows in my bedroom and in the study
Activities of the Day:
Morning Yoga
Swimming
Personal Bible Study (Psalms 27)
Volunteered 1 hour at the library
1 hour gaming with Julien

Wow, Psalm 82 goes hard. Specifically verse 7
"[1] God presides in the great assembly; he renders judgment among the “gods”: [2] “How long will you defend the unjust and show partiality to the wicked? [3] Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. [4] Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. [5] “The ‘gods’ know nothing, they understand nothing. They walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken. [6] “I said, ‘You are “gods”; you are all sons of the Most High.’ [7] But you will die like mere mortals; you will fall like every other ruler.” [8] Rise up, O God, judge the earth, for all the nations are your inheritance."

Do Not Envy
Saying 20
1 Do not envy wicked men or desire their company;
2 for their hearts devise violence, and their lips declare trouble.
Saying 21
3 By wisdom a house is built and by understanding it is established;
4 through knowledge its rooms are filled with every precious and beautiful treasure.
Saying 22
5 A wise man is strong, and a man of knowledge enhances his strength.
6 Only with sound guidance should you wage war, and victory lies in a multitude of counselors.
Saying 23
7 Wisdom is too high for a fool; he does not open his mouth in the meeting place.
Saying 24
8 He who plots evil will be called a schemer.
9 A foolish scheme is sin, and a mocker is detestable to men.
Saying 25
10 If you faint in the day of distress, how small is your strength!
11 Rescue those being led away to death, and restrain those stumbling toward the slaughter.
12 If you say, “Behold, we did not know about this,” does not He who weighs hearts consider it? Does not the One who guards your life know? Will He not repay a man according to his deeds?
Saying 26
13 Eat honey, my son, for it is good, and the honeycomb is sweet to your taste.
14 Know therefore that wisdom is sweet to your soul. If you find it, there is a future for you, and your hope will never be cut off.
Saying 27
15 Do not lie in wait, O wicked man, near the dwelling of the righteous; do not destroy his resting place.
16 For though a righteous man may fall seven times, he still gets up; but the wicked stumble in bad times.
Saying 28
17 Do not gloat when your enemy falls, and do not let your heart rejoice when he stumbles,
18 or the LORD will see and disapprove, and turn His wrath away from him.
Saying 29
19 Do not fret over evildoers, and do not be envious of the wicked.
20 For the evil man has no future; the lamp of the wicked will be extinguished.
Saying 30
21 My son, fear the LORD and the king, and do not associate with the rebellious.
22 For they will bring sudden destruction. Who knows what ruin they can bring? Further Sayings of the Wise
23 These also are sayings of the wise: To show partiality in judgment is not good.
24 Whoever tells the guilty, “You are innocent”— peoples will curse him, and nations will denounce him;
25 but it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and rich blessing will come upon them.
26 An honest answer given is like a kiss on the lips.
27 Complete your outdoor work and prepare your field; after that, you may build your house.
28 Do not testify against your neighbor without cause, and do not deceive with your lips.
29 Do not say, “I will do to him as he has done to me; I will repay the man according to his work.”
30 I went past the field of a slacker and by the vineyard of a man lacking judgment.
31 Thorns had grown up everywhere, thistles had covered the ground, and the stone wall was broken down.
32 I observed and took it to heart; I looked and received instruction:
33 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest,
34 and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and need like a bandit. — Proverbs 24 | Berean Standard Bible (BSB) The Holy Bible, Berean Standard Bible is produced in cooperation with Bible Hub, Discovery Bible, OpenBible.com, and the Berean Bible Translation Committee. This is kinda weird to explain but the idea that my brain has different “phases” of my hyperfixation on the f/o’s I selfship with…. Is wrong. I can choose what to put my focus on, it’s just I’ve had these fixations for so fucking long that when I want to introduce a new one, I never know which one to choose.
I’m on phase 2 of 82 characters.
The issue is that I have been cooking up lore for EVERY FANDOM since I was first introduced to them. This dates all the way back to 2014, where I’ve done nothing but expand on each oc x cc.
And I’m still making their lore. If I were to introduce my LOZ or Trollhunters selfship it’d be like throwing a bible at you and expecting you to keep up from Psalms 117 without having read any previous passages- that would prove crucial to your understanding.
So if you’re wondering why I’m having different phases, I’m not. I’m literally just picking numbers from a hat for which fandoms I will focus on for the next 2-3 months. And that’s usually the time limit I give myself because holy fuck, by the time I finish every selfship I’ll be 25 going on 40 !! Lmao.
I also plan on a series of books for most of the selfships, so not only will I be making the art, I’ll be writing them….
The Maria multiverse is coming and expands every day. This is inevitably my extreme multifandom endeavor.

Biblical Revelation teaches that all human beings possess inherent dignity because they are created in the image and likeness of God: “God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness’ […] So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them” (Gen. 1:26-27). With this, humanity has a specific quality that means it is not reducible to purely material elements. Moreover, the “image” does not define the soul or its intellectual abilities but the dignity of man and woman.
In their relationship of equality and mutual love, both the man and the woman represent God in the world and are also called to cherish and nurture the world. Because of this, to be created in the image of God means to possess a sacred value that transcends every distinction of a sexual, social, political, cultural, and religious nature. Our dignity is bestowed upon us by God; it is neither claimed nor deserved. Every human being is loved and willed by God and, thus, has an inviolable dignity. In Exodus, at the heart of the Old Testament, God shows himself to be the one who hears the cry of the poor, sees the misery of his people, and cares for those who are least and for the oppressed (cf. Ex. 3:7; 22:20-26). The same teaching can be found in the Deuteronomic Code (cf. Dt. 12-26); here, the teaching on rights is transformed into a manifesto of human dignity, particularly in favor of the threefold category of the orphan, the widow, and the stranger (cf. Dt. 24:17). The ancient precepts of Exodus are recalled and applied to the moment in the preaching of the prophets, who represent the critical conscience of Israel. The prophets Amos, Hosea, Isaiah, Micah, and Jeremiah have entire chapters denouncing injustice. Amos bitterly decries the oppression of the poor and his listeners’ failure to recognize any fundamental human dignity in the destitute (cf. Am. 2:6-7; 4:1; 5:11-12). Isaiah pronounces a curse against those who trample on the rights of the poor, denying them all justice: “Woe to those who decree iniquitous decrees, and the writers who keep writing oppression, to turn aside the needy from justice” (Is. 10:1-2). This prophetic teaching is echoed in Wisdom Literature. For example, Sirach equates the oppression of the poor with murder: “To take away a neighbor’s living is to murder him; to deprive an employee of his wages is to shed blood” (Sir. 34:22). In the Psalms, the religious relationship with God comes through the defense of the weak and needy: “Do justice for the weak and the orphan; give justice to the poor and afflicted. Rescue the weak and the needy; set them free from the hand of the wicked” (Ps. 82:3-4).

Prayer for Trans-Christians #3
{God takes his stand in the court of heaven to deliver judgement among the gods themselves. Psalm 82:1
So God created man is his own image; in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27
There is no such thing as Jew and Greek, slave and freeman, male and female; for you are all one person in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:28
Heavenly Father, god of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and Holy Spirit teach us through dreams and signs what are the rights, roles and responsibilities of transgender, intersex and non-binary people in American society down through the generations.  Help us too affirm and apply your son’s teaching to “Love your neighbor as yourself” Mathew 22:39 and to “Treat others as you would like them to treat you” Luke 6:31 to the intersex people in our midst.  We ask in Jesus name, Amen.}
