Words of Wisdom Are Better than Gold
1 It isn't smart to get drunk! Drinking makes a fool of you and leads to fights. 2 An angry ruler is like a roaring lion— make either one angry, and you are dead. 3 It makes you look good when you avoid a fight— only fools love to quarrel. 4 If you are too lazy to plow, don't expect a harvest. 5 Someone's thoughts may be as deep as the ocean, but if you are smart, you will discover them.
6 There are many who say, “You can trust me!” But can they be trusted? 7 Good people live right, and God blesses the children who follow their example. 8 When rulers decide cases, they weigh the evidence. 9 Can any of us really say, “My thoughts are pure, and my sins are gone”?
10 Two things the Lord hates are dishonest scales and dishonest measures. 11 The good or bad that children do shows what they are like. 12 Hearing and seeing are gifts from the Lord. 13 If you sleep all the time, you will starve; if you get up and work, you will have enough food. 14 Everyone likes to brag about getting a bargain. 15 Sensible words are better than gold or jewels.
16 You deserve to lose your coat if you loan it to someone to guarantee payment for the debt of a stranger. 17 The food you get by cheating may taste delicious, but it turns to gravel. 18 Be sure you have sound advice before making plans or starting a war. 19 Stay away from gossips— they tell everything. 20 Children who curse their parents will go to the land of darkness long before their time. 21 Getting rich quick may turn out to be a curse. 22 Don't try to get even. Trust the Lord, and he will help you.
23 The Lord hates dishonest scales and dishonest weights. So don't cheat! 24 How can we know what will happen to us when the Lord alone decides? 25 Don't fall into the trap of making promises to God before you think! 26 A wise ruler severely punishes every criminal. 27 Our inner thoughts are a lamp from the Lord, and they search our hearts. 28 Rulers are protected by God's mercy and loyalty, but they must be merciful for their kingdoms to last. 29 Young people take pride in their strength, but the gray hairs of wisdom are even more beautiful. 30 A severe beating can knock all of the evil out of you! — Proverbs 20 | Contemporary English Version (CEV) Contemporary English Version Copyright © 1995 by American Bible Society. PROVERBS S.O.A.P. ~ CHAPTER 20
Friday, 3/10/23
SCRIPTURE:
Ears that hear and eyes that see—  the Lord has made them both.
~ Proverbs 20:12
OBSERVATION:
Hearing and seeing are the primary ways of experiencing the world...
What - who/Who -
...am I listening to?
...am I seeing?
...am I looking at?
Myself? - too often I'm afraid...
Him? - not nearly enough... especially since I should be continually listening to/for and looking at Him...
APPLICATION:
Be aware of being purposefully deaf and blind to His Word...
...and His will...
...and His activity...
...and His leading...
Listen and hear...
Look and see...
PRAYER:
Lord God - forgive my self-imposed deafness and blindness to Your will and to my own sin - May Your Holy Spirit continue to open my ears to hear myself in what I say to others and in my own "defense" and to open my eyes to the things I don't want to see about myself, but that You see and know all too well... Thank You that Jesus came to do that physically during His life, and spiritually for me every time when He asks what I want Him to do for me... Heal my heart to see and hear and then do... Your will over my own wants... In His healing Name, Father, and for Your glory and rightful praise...
Gratefully seeing and hearing you - because of Him...

 Are You Choosing Wisdom?
As uncomfortable as it remains at times I have had to learn to accept not knowing. I have come to see that God has the solutions and my demanding answers often only interferes with His plans for my "Becoming Today".
I want to thank you all for being here today. Whether you’ve followed this series for the past four weeks or if this is the first time you are joining us. We are involved in a study of wisdom as taught in the Book of Proverbs. If you’d like to know more about The Passion Translation and why we are using it for this undertaking, you can find a recap near the end of today’s conversation. We are…

Many thanks to @1000sunnygo for translating the remaining fourth light novel story. 🙏🙏 It's bookended by segments in 2050, but the main portion is set on January 28, 2046.
The ending that was included for this story's rerelease in the light novel is the inspiration for the top two photos in the series' fourth anniversary art:

Which is 🥺🥺🤧

Small smattering of reactions under the cut:

Emma knowing deep in her bones how amazing Don and Gilda are, even without her memories 🤧🤧

REAL FUCKING DON AND GILDA APPRECIATION HOURS HERE 👏 👏

(Chapter 59)
Me, treasuring any crumb of Don and Emma interactions:

They take their responsibility so seriously 🥺🤧 goodest kids

FJLDSFLJEASD Gilda immediately shutting that shit down after what happened with Emma fainting two weeks ago…
Tumblr media
…only to come to the conclusion this is exactly the kind of shit the trio would pull, in the same way that's conveniently summarized in "The Chess Proverb" short story:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With the spark of unconventionality that Emma brings and her drive to achieve the seemingly impossible to balance out Ray's wisdom and pragmatism and Norman's cunning and ruthlessness in execution.
Tumblr media
They admire the trio so much after all the years they spent looking out for them and they want to do them proud, and then the look on their faces when Emma and Ray choose them to accompany them on the search for Cuvitidala and the Seven Walls without hesitation because of how much trust they have in them after everything they've been through—

Also this is hardcore I'm so proud of these two little ten year olds and how in sync they are throughout this whole thing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"smiled softly" oh son I'm soft
Tumblr media
Also yes you better be heaping praise on them after everything, including making Gilda cry which is a tragedy in its own right
Tumblr media
And a little bit of Raydon banter at the end too to complement what we got in "Operation Stormy Night," beautiful. 🖤❤🙏

1. When you need, God knows:
Philippians 4:19 (NIV). “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”
2. When you ask, God listens:
Proverbs 15:29 (ESV). “The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.”
3. When you believe, God works:
2 Kings 20:5 (NIV). “I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you.”
4. When you thank, God gives more. Jesus gave thanks and fed the five thousand!
Matthew 14:17-21 (NIV). “We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered. “Bring them here to me,” he said. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.”
5. Everything comes from God:
James 1:17 (AMP). “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of lights [the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens], in whom there is no variation [no rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [for He is perfect and never changes].”
6. And whatever you give, you'll get just as much back, if not more!
Luke 6:38 (CSB). “Give, and it will be given to you; a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over—will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.”
We serve a good, loving and giving God! Amen! 🙏🕊️🙌
