The routine of a virtuous woman to inspire your own

She wakes up earlier than all others at home - (Proverbs 31:15)

Dedicates her first moments in the morning to God (Proverbs 31:30)

Prepares the family meal with calm and organize her daily tasks (Proverbs 31:15)

Takes care of her appearance - not be complimented by people outside, but by her own family (Proverbs 31:25)

Takes care of her family needs and do the daily maintenance of her home (Proverbs 31:27)

Works with effort and dedication. Wherever she goes she’s a testimony of her family’s good reputation (Proverbs 31:13)

Tries to be creative and bring new investments and opportunities to her family (Proverbs 31:16)

Abortion is Murder & Unbiblical

The Bible does not use the word abortion. How could it? The term itself as a procedure wasn't invented yet! However, the Bible does cover: 

Humanity's inherent value and rights as (uniquely among creation) made in the image of God

Murder

Child/infant murder as something abhorrent to God

Life's beginnings, indirectly (although that also has biological support) 

Legal ramifications of killing a child in the womb 

How God sees and interacts with children in the womb 

How we as His followers are meant to treat children 

What He expects us to do for the defenseless and vulnerable (i.e., the most defenseless and vulnerable human imaginable is the one in the womb)

John the Baptist leaped in Elizabeth’s womb when Mary greeted her cousin (Luke 1:39-45), an example that babies in utero are responsive human beings already aware of the outside world.

The righteous Hebrew midwives at the time of Moses pleased God by saving babies deemed unworthy of life by the authorities of their day (Ex. 1:15-21).

 As an additional note -- these references are included above, but worth a second mention -- it's plain that child sacrifice - child murder - is something that God abhors and explicitly does not command. I'd look here (https://biblehub.com/jeremiah/19-5.htm) and here (https://biblehub.com/2_kings/17-17.htm) and check out the cross-references as well. Likewise, there is direct support for laws against murder and the protection of the unborn (up to capital punishment) in the Bible (Genesis 9:6; Exodus 21:22-25  -- an additional reference here included about the common misunderstanding of the latter verses: https://www.str.org/w/what-exodus-21-22-says-about-abortion).

In summary -- it's possible (although, I believe, it does deprive its proponents of a foundational basis for the value of life) to be both secular and anti-abortion. But it is not possible for a Christian who truly understands their faith, their God, and His Word to be pro-abortion.

I am feeling very hurt today.

For context, I went to high school in well-off, suburban Utah, although I didn't grow up there. My family still lives there. It's a VERY Mormon- and white-dominated location.

Last night, I was on the phone with my mom, just catching up, making plans for the weekend, the typical Phone Home Because Your Mom Misses You.

She told me that there were plans to build a warming shelter for the homeless in the town. I was excited -- I'd just been to a workshop about homelessness, and me and my friends had exchanged some heartfelt stories about our experiences with homeless friends, family, ward members, et cetera. But then she followed it up by telling me that many folks in the town were strongly against it -- mad that there would be a warming shelter in the town, yelling about it on Facebook groups, protesting at city council meetings. None of them wanted a warming shelter in their town. Hundreds of people, upset.

I've never felt more disheartened. Over half of the people in that town are members of the Church. The chances that there were Mormons at that city council meeting, yelling angrily about a warming shelter are astronomically high.

What God are they following?

What Christ did they get baptized to?

What scriptures do they read? Did they not get the chance to read Proverbs 19:17, Matthew 25:35-36, Luke 3:11, James 2:15-16, 1 John 3:17, Deuteronomy 15:11, Psalms 82:3-4, Proverbs 14:31, Isaiah 58:10, Mosiah 4:16-26, Alma 34:28-29, Mosiah 18:28-30, 3 Nephi 12:3, or Jacob 2:13-17?

What commandments are they following? What "love one another" do they ascribe to?

What has the name of Christ become in this day and age?

The devil turning evil into good and good into evil has never been so obvious. What perversion of gospel principles can possibly lead someone to riot against a warming shelter -- not even a homeless shelter? A place for people to stay alive in the blistering cold.

"Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." The 'members' that have fought against this have, effectively, spit in the face of the Lord. Where has Christlike compassion gone?

It’s comforting to know that, because of God’s promises in the Bible, there’s assurance that we won’t end up in Hell. Many verses speak of salvation and bring peace. Sometimes, due to severe trauma, trusting in that love and safety can be difficult, but it’s a journey to trust in what God has promised.

When doubt about salvation or God’s promises arises, the best remedy is prayer and spending time in the Word. Trusting God fully and consistently is one of the hardest parts of the Christian walk, and it’s a lifelong journey. If doubt about salvation occurs, please know that it’s a normal part of the walk and can be overcome.

This world is filled with evil, and Satan continuously works to shake that faith. We face attacks, criticism, and feelings of shame and unworthiness. Yet, the Bible reveals God’s character, and when we trust in what He has said, there is assurance of salvation.

I’ll share some Scripture that speaks to our salvation under the cut, so as not to flood anyone’s timeline. I hope this can be helpful, beloved!

Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Hello Writeblr! I'm oliveScales, and I'm currently writing and illustrating my webcomic named "The Forgotten Legends of Chima", or TFLOC for short.

Synopsis

In a world where civilizations clash for Chi in order to survive, Laval, prince of the Lion Tribe, strives to overcome every war and all injustice without ever gripping a sword. It all started when Laval witnessed evil and inequality with his own eyes. Since then, he has promised himself to protect anyone, no matter who they are, from suffering and that he will restore peace in the land of Chima. These are the Forgotten Legends of Chima.

TFLOC is about war; there will be violence, death, fighting and blood. It is not a story suitable for those under 14 years old.

I'm a fan of mythology and folklore, and I'm trying to study a few of them for my worldbuilding. Worldbuildings with focus on culture are my favorite! I also really like stories with animals and anthropomorphic characters. I'm an american who enjoys studying other cultures, and am currently studying the Portuguese language!

The Forgotten Legends of Chima is a fantasy science fiction story about the land of Chima, home to eight animal tribes. Here, you'll learn about their cultures, witness intriguing and complex relationships between them, and understand the importance of diversity.

TFLOC's cast is entirely made of aromantic-asexual characters, with some characters being either demi-partnering or non-partnering.

TFLOC is an interpretation of Legends of Chima's storyline, which means that worldbuilding and characters are going to be developed alongside new content to add further depth into the story, such as unimportant/secondary characters becoming important and vital to the story.

   I have spent the later years of my life building this relationship with God, and one thing I noticed that always is an issue is time. Time is no one’s friend, but when we put our time into what we should do, we can see its manifestations. Many people feel that the more we do something, the more we enjoy it, and our flesh hates to pray, read the word, and do anything that will help us connect with him.

 2 Peter 3:8 But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day

 This right here should make us feel good because it says just one day is like a thousand years and imagine as you build this connection with him and every day, you're talking to him, he’s so grateful that he sees our days as a thousand years. But to us, one minute feels this way. Have you ever noticed that if you are on the phone watching Instagram, time goes by so fast that you don’t even realize what’s happening? You don’t realize the time that has passed, and you don’t even mind it because you're watching reels, right? But the moment you say I’m about to read my word or I’m about to pray, here comes the figuring for it or how long it’s going to take because our flesh wants us to sin. It wants us to do anything but anything godly, but the Bible tells us this about time.

  Ephesians 5:15- 17: Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand the will of the Lord.

  It tells us to make the best use of our time. Many of us don’t. We use our time in the worst way and don’t factor in how to draw closer to God. The Bible tells us to draw closer to God, and we must do this daily. It says to do this because the days are evil. It says don’t be foolish; make sure you understand God's will. Do you know the Lord's will? Do you know what to do to have him tell you, his will? All we must do is ask.

  Proverbs 27:1: Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.

   This brings us to our other point: because we don’t know when our time is, we must be careful with it; we can’t boast about the next day or the next month or year because we don’t know our time that’s why the time, we got we must use it by seeking God.

    Many don’t seek him; we seek him periodically but not faithfully. God doesn’t want us to seek him when we need him; he wants us to seek him daily because we desire to; he wants us to desire to use our time for him. Do you carve out time to be with him? Do you make sure you save time to make him a priority? What is a priority in your life?

  Colossians 4:5 Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time

  It tells us again to make the best use of our time; it’s okay to relax, and it’s okay to want to watch some shows, but we can’t expect God to grow us if we haven’t put anything in to grow the seeds that are planted, we are eating anything of the spirit to grow the things of the spirit the only thing we have done things that’s of this world that’s why the appetite of the world can’t die because we are still feeding it, we have to stop feeding it and learn to feed the spirit man.

   Our daily activities are about Instagram, Netflix gossiping, etc. Still, when we start making our daily life of the holy Word, and we start meditating more, and we start worshiping more, we are growing the things within us, this craving for the lord; we must let the things of this world the appetite for it die. That’s not easy to do if we all being transparent it’s hard to do because we are all so curious about what’s happening around the world or in our own lives that we don’t allow our craving for this world to stop; we don’t allow our minds to stop processing while we even pray.

  So, how do we handle our time? We must do it wisely; we must handle our time with God with care, every day we have this opportunity to do something different, which is focusing more on God; our time is so precious we don’t know when our time is up that’s why we must live like it’s our last and spend it with him.

 ***Today, we talked about time, and some people have a problem with managing their time, some people have a problem with making God a priority. Still, no matter what happens, God has given us the space to do what we want, but what will you choose, whether it's time with him or watching Instagram reels? The more we feed our flesh, the more it will grow, but the more we give ourselves away to God, the more our relationship with him grows; it’s about time.

  Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you

  Do you seek him first? The word tells us when we take our time and seek him, everything else will come; everything will be available to us, but if we seek this world first, that’s what we will receive. Many people want to know how to be powerful in God, and we do this when we give God our time. If today you feel that you haven’t given him a lot of your time, go to him and express your feelings and wait for him to show you how to give more time to him; make him a priority today. ©Seer~ Prophetess Lee

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank you for today and the time you have given us. Lord, help us to balance more of our time and give us more wisdom to seek you and not this world, Father; we rebuke the spirit of slothfulness; we send it back in Jesus' name, Father; we ask you for power to conquer this spirit in Jesus name we thank you for everything, we ask you to be with us and help us to stay focus on you and to be more like you father pour out a fresh anointing unto our lives in Jesus Name Amen.

This is your friendly reminder that the Proverbs 31 woman was actually amazing.

This woman ran a household and a business. Not her husband's business, her own. And apparently did extremely well at both those things. We know she was an excellent manager, because she saw to her servants' needs as well as her family's. We also know she was an excellent and successful entrepeneur who actively worked alongside her servants to make her business grow. We even know what kind of businesses she ran: She was a weaver and a vintner.

We know she's a weaver because the scriptures specifically describe her working with wool and flax, which is the raw material for linen, and turning it into fabric that she sells at a healthy profit and uses to clothe her entire household. From the NRSV-CE:

"[13] She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands."

"[19] She puts her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle."

"[21] She is not afraid for her household when it snows, for all her household are clothed in crimson. [22] She makes herself coverings; her clothing is fine linen and purple."

"[24] She makes linen garments and sells them; she supplies the merchant with sashes."

That last bit in verse 22 about purple is significant, because it's almost certainly talking about royal purple, which was the single most expensive dye in the ancient world. This is, unequivocally, a statement of wealth. Enormous wealth. She's not so much running a business as a business empire.

Again, this is specifically her business, not her husband's, as evidenced in the same verse that talks about her being a vintner. From the NRSV-CE again:

"[16] She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard."

Or, to spell it out explicitly, we'll quote the NIV (which I normally dislike for reasons):

"[16] She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard."

We also know that she's a good manager who works alongside her servants, rather than sitting back and requiring them to do the work for her. More to the point, she's the hardest worker in the business and at home, as evidenced in the verses above, and in verses 15, 17, and 25 (Again in the NRSV-CE):

"[15] She rises while it is still night and provides food for her household and tasks for her servant-girls."

"[17] She girds herself with strength, and makes her arms strong."

"[25] Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come."

Important sidenote: If the repeated emphasis on her strength is anything to go by, this lady was swole.

The Proverbs 31 woman is a subject that's been talked to death by Christians. Most of the time they downplay her feats and accomplishments, which is honestly a shame. It's my strong opinion that she deserves to be remembered as a legend. Also the modern Church could benefit from celebrating women's excellence in general. Christ is glorified when we honour His whole body, not just the parts we're comfortable with.
