Autumn Is a Second Spring
Summary:
Izuna has seen his rival under almost every circumstance.
(Almost.)
Rating: Teen And Up Fandom: Naruto Relationship: Senju Tobirama & Uchiha Izuna Word Count: 2,435 (Complete)
Entry for @izunaweek
Day 6 - February 9: Kunai | Sacrifice | Superpowers AU
This story is a gift for @Arlennil who gave me the prompts that led to it - thank you very much!
Izuna steps forward, katana leading, and a precisely placed slash means that the man in front of him collapses screaming.
It's only fair - may this bloodline thief enjoy the blindness he inflicted on so many, even though Izuna doesn't intend to allow him to live like this for long enough to be true justice.
Still, the man can wait until the rest of his fellows have been dealt with, and Izuna deflects a spray of senbon before cutting down another shinobi. Bloodline thieves always work together - it's the kind of work that requires too many skills to belong to a single person - but it's rare for this many to gather in a single place, with a single purpose.
Nii-san's village has proven to be too tempting a target however, and Izuna was all to glad when the mission to destroy these scum was assigned to him.
Unfortunately, his brother also assigned him a mission partner.
Read the rest on AO3.

Prompt #21 with Sasuke from Naruto please! 🥰 Surprise me!
Part One → Part Two → Part Three → Part Four
Pairing: Sasuke Uchiha x Reader
Anime: Naruto
Word Count: 3k
Synopsis: you hate him and he hates you, but when he shows up out of nowhere demanding to speak to you all of those years of pent up hatred come out
Warnings: this is the first smut I wrote in years so that’s a warning in itself, rough doggy, all characters are of age/aged up, dirty talk, angry sasuke, oral (female receiving), missionary for 2.5 seconds, angry reader at sasuke
Prompt: “This doesn’t change anything between us.”
A/N - look I actually tried really hard on this and I lowkey wanna make a pt2 to this so please tell me if y’all would want it! Feel free to request a prompt!
"Isn't he so cute!"
"I'm going to marry him someday."
"Sasuke is so cool!"
Hearing his name you couldn't help but roll your eyes. You couldn't stand his attitude even at your young age. It was always someone trying to one up the other, whether it be you excelling in your chakra control or him beating someone else in seconds in a sparring match. You hated him, you hated his attitude and you hated how every girl would throw herself in front of a kunai for him. You hated Sasuke Uchiha and he hated you.
Your feelings towards him weren't one sided either, he could've left you alone but no, he had to bother you any chance he got. Clearly he developed damage to his brain where he can't learn to develop the skills of empathy and self control.
The teasing wasn't that bad, it was the shitty tricks he'd pull and act like it wasn't him. If you wanna pull a prank on someone at least take ownership instead of being a pussy. Did you just call a 12 year old a pussy? Yes. Yes you did. Sasuke Uchiha at 12 years old was a pussy and you've told him that to his face too.
~~~
"You're leaving." You say as more of a statement than a question. You look at the brooding kid in front of you, his hand on his backpack strap tightening as he stares angrily at you.
"What does it matter to you?"
"It doesn't but-"
"Then shut up and mind your business." He interjects quickly causing you to stare daggers at him.
"You're a pussy." You push off from the wall you were leaning on and brush past him. "You were weak during exams and you're weak now." You begin to walk away past him when his grips the collar of your shirt and slams you back into the wall you were on. "Hey asshole!-"
"Shut. The. Fuck. Up." He cuts you off, his face only mere inches from you.
"You wanna kiss pretty boy?" You shove him away as hard as you can creating some distance between the two of you. "Just get the fuck out of the village already."
And so he did.
You couldn't feel any happier once Sasuke was out of the village. The pain in your ass wasn't there anymore and you felt like you didn't need to prove yourself as the top of your class anymore even though you have been graduated from the academy for over two years. You were perfectly fine without him, everyone else he supposedly made 'friends' with, if he was even able to make actual friends that is; they were worried, suddenly wanting to go out and retrieve him like he was taken. Once again Sasuke was the top priority to everyone minds.
You couldn't care less about Sasuke Uchiha.
~~~
He hasn't crossed your mind on your own accord in years. You hadn't seen him in years, you know he's still a topic around the village but you tend to zone everyone out when he gets brought up and at this point in time it's been working. Out of sight, out of mind, he could have gotten himself killed in a random battle and you don't think you'd shed a single tear for him.
You hear a bang at your front door which catches your attention immediately, you go to ignore it thinking it's the neighbor's kid across from your apartment kicking the ball they had against your door until the banging becomes repetitive, the more bangs coming from the other side of the door the louder they became. You swing the door open looking to see who or what was the cause of the annoying noise only to be shoved to the side into the door frame. "What the hell!" You raise your voice grabbing the wrist of who barged in, you get overpowered and pulled back into your apartment and the door gets slammed. You look up at the intruder who shoved his way into your home and see him. "Sasuke?"
Sasuke looks frustrated to say the least. He has the same signature scowl he's always had on his face and the same posture with his arms crossed over his chest while looking around your apartment. There doesn't seem to be a difference in the way he looks at you either, the same hatred behind his eyes as always, even with him being the one rudely shoving his way inside.
"(Y/N)." He said simply with nothing coming after. You waited a few moments if he was just trying to be dramatic with his entrance. He never said anything after that.
"Why are you back in the village?"
"I'm not." You roll your eyes and huff a sigh.
"Why are you here in my apartment then?" You mimic his body and cross your arms over your chest, his head turns to face you and his eyes stare at you intensely. You'd say you were used to this but after so many years you've grown unaccustomed to the look he used to give you because it was nothing like this.
"I'm here to talk, I need to-"
"Why am I supposed to care what you need?" You insert before he's done speaking. He huffs a breath and soon enough his eyes shoot the daggers you remember.
"I don't expect you to I just need-"
"How about you tell me why you left the village in the first place?" You cut him off mid sentence once again. You don't care about his needs, you don't care about him at all, but you'd like some answers. "Was it like everyone was saying? That you just wanted to grow stronger? So did you find it? Did you get stronger like you wanted?"
"That doesn't matter I don't need to answer that right now, you clearly already know the answer to that." He rolls his eyes and let his arms fall from his chest.
Sasuke was never a man of many words, he was never a man at all he was just a little boy, but with his responses you can't help but bug him about it. Call it being nosy or call it you always zoning everyone out the second you hear his name so you never actually found out the reasoning for him abandoning the village.
"So you're still weak? You're still that little kid who does nothing but bitch and complain about wanting revenge. You may have grown up in these last few years but you're still that sad, pathetic, weakling-" Your shoulders are shoved and pinned to the wall behind you in a moment, you gasp out at the sudden jolt in your back and look up at the angry ravenette.
"Shut up." He growls lowly and if looks could kill, not that he could but you'd probably drop dead if he wished it.
"Make me you prick." You look at him, your stare unwavering as the pressure on your shoulders feels tighter.
There is no sound in your home but everything seems to be buzzing in your ears. Sasuke's face only inches from yours, seemingly just like when he left the village. You feel a sudden wave of nostalgia if you can even call it that as it wasn't a fond memory to think back on. You wait for his response, you look into his eyes and can't decipher what's going on in his head. His grip on your shoulders loosen before he crashes his lips onto yours, his hand now finding a place onto the back of your neck to pull you even closer to him.
Your eyes widen in shock as you don't kiss him back. The kiss surprising you but what is even more of a shock is who is kissing you. You feel him pull away and the look he gives you is mixed with annoyance and frustration. "Just kiss me back." He pauses and smirks, "Or are you too much of a pussy." Your eyes darken with anger as he used your insult to him against yourself. He doesn't wait for your answer before he pulls you back to his lips, you instantly kissing back.
The kiss was hard and the only emotion behind it was the hatred you feel towards him. Your lips molded together as you two kissed, his hand found it's way from the back of your neck to tangling itself in your hair while you felt his grip tighten sending a tingling sensation to your scalp. He took the opportunity to slide his tongue in heating the kiss up in an instant.
You could feel him press against you, his leg sliding between yours and pressing against your clothed core, a small sound comes out but is quickly swallowed down by him. His lips leave yours to slowly kiss down your jaw, it was excruciatingly slow the way he kissed you, from your jaw to your neck to the sweet spot he found almost instantly. You bit back a moan but he made sure to take his time marking up your neck.
The feeling of his thigh was hard to push to the back of your mind, all you could feel was Sasuke and what he was doing to you. You hate him, you hate how he's making you react right now and you hate at how good he is and neither of you have even taken a single piece of clothing off of each other yet. You hate even more the needy words that come out of your mouth next.
"Bedroom." You say almost breathlessly, you could feel the smirk he gives against your neck before quickly going back to your lips. His hands slide to your waist and pull you to him and walk you back not daring to break from the kiss. He pushes open one door and you feel your ass bump into something hard and cold, you pull away from him to see you backed up against your washing machine. "You idiot, this is the wrong room." You roll your eyes and walk past him going into your bedroom.
"How the fuck was I supposed to know that it's not like I've been in your apartment." He scoffs following you and kicking the door shut.
"Oh I bet you must've dreamed-" your words were short lived as he spun you around and kissed you quieting you down.
Kissing Sasuke wasn't like all the books you've read, it wasn't sweet, it wasn't like being with your ex's when you were in love. His kiss was full of passion, it's a kiss of desire and a feeling of pent up frustrations he nor you have been able to let out. Frustrations at each other, at the world, at everything. Sasuke was a damn good kisser too which annoyed you even further.
His lips left yours to tug off your top, the fabric quickly being discarded to a random corner in your room. His eyes ate your figure up, seeing how your breasts layed there perfectly in your bra you were wearing. A low groan left his lips as he went to kiss up your chest, his fingers hooking onto the waistband of your skirt and started to tug it down past your thighs pooling around your ankles. You quickly kicked them away and pulled at his shirt. "Off." You demand and he takes no time in removing his shirt before pushing you back to the edge of the bed and dropping to his knees."
"Spread." He now is the one demanding. You go to spread your legs before pausing and closing them causing a confused look to cross his face.
"This doesn't change anything between us. I still hate you." His confusion quickly deadpans before shaking his head.
"God shut up." He spreads your legs and pushes your panties to the side before slowly swiping his thumb along your slit and pressing it to your clit causing you to gasp. "You're soaked." It was more of a statement than anything but feeling his thumb start to roll little circles on your clit sent a shockwave up your body. You watched him as he stared at your pussy.
"Are you going to sit and stare or are you going to actually do something pretty boy?" Your words rang in his ears and he slowly looked up at you, the same irritation growing in him like it did all those years ago when you'd call him that name. His thumb left your clit and his index and middle finger slowly pushed it and curled causing you to let out a small moan. He could feel you already clenching around them as he started to pump them in and out of you. "Stop calling me that." His head dipped down between your thighs and licked a long swipe before settling on your clit making you let out another moan.
"I can't help it." You say running your fingers through his hair. "You're a pretty- ahh fuck..." Sasuke sucks on your clit harshly, his fingers curling and uncurling from your gspot making your mind go fuzzy with the pleasure he's giving you. Your fingers tighten in his hair tugging slightly, "Fuck Sasuke." You throw your head back taking in the feeling of his tongue and fingers working on you. You can feel the coil in your stomach tighten up and you screw your eyes shut feeling the pleasure hit you. You feel dizzy and can't focus on anything but Sasuke. He tugs your panties down past your hips and tosses them to the side before finally undoing his pants. You fall back against your bed, chest heavy as that was one orgasm that knocked the wind out of you.
You feel the bed dip down before you're turned over to your stomach, a harsh smack heard before you felt his hand come across your ass. "Ass up." He says, his voice low as he picks up your hips positioning them to his liking. You feel him bring the tip of his cock up and down your slit causing you to shiver. You can just feel the smirk on his face before he pushes in giving you no moment to get adjusted. You let out a mix of a moan and groan feeling him stretch you out, you not having any sort of sex in a while is the excuse you'd like to give but you also didn't expect Sasuke to be big in the slightest.
His hands gripped your hips and brought you back with each thrust, you arched your back and dropped your head letting out small moans as he hit a spot in you that you haven't felt before. "You ever felt this good before with anybody else?" You could hear the smugness in his voice. "You're so fucking tight, don't tell me, you weren't saving yourself for anyone were you?" He chuckles as he thinks what he's saying is funny, you throw your hand back ready to smack him but he quickly catches it and pins your arm behind your back pushing you further into the mattress as he slams into you at a slower pace. "Of course you weren't, you take my cock too well."
You could feel every inch of him with every hard thrust he gives you, feeling him deep in your stomach as you grip the bedsheets tighter and tighter. "Please go faster." You whine out without meaning to. Sasuke pulls out and flips you to your back before slowly pushing back in making you moan. He leaned forward his thrusts picking up pace and making you look at him.
The close proximity of him making you nervous all of a sudden, missionary was for eye contact, kissing, all of that intimate shit. Doggy style is much more your style with Sasuke. You don't have to look at him. The smirk on his face makes you question him before he speaks. "Who knew you were such a needy sub." Your eyebrows furrow as you go to speak but the words died on your tongue when Sasuke brings his fingers to your clit again bringing you close to your second orgasm. "You're just taking my dick like a good girl, aren't you?" You shake your head refusing to listen to him. His fingers move faster on your clit giving you the perfect amount of pressure to send you back over the edge. Your eyes squeezed shut and head pressed back in your mattress as you orgasmed for the second time in the night. You can feel Sasuke's hips stutter as he fucks you through your orgasm, his pace quickening even more before you felt him stop and let out a low groan as he came inside you.
Your eyes shoot open as you smack his arm, "You did not! Not inside you idiot!" You shove him off of you as you quickly go to your bathroom that's connected to your room.
Sasuke chuckles to himself before letting out a small "oops." He sits himself up on your bed and gets himself dressed. He can hear you grumbling in the bathroom and the shower starting to run as he gets finished. He stands up and makes his way around your room walking to the door before his eyes laid upon picture frames on your dresser. He can faintly see pictures of your closest friends, some recent and some old but what catches his eyes the most was a picture taken when you were in the academy. It was when the top of the class got a picture taken and both you and Sasuke tied for number one. Both of you were upset that you had to take a picture together and it was evident on your faces. Your arms were crossed while glaring at the camera man and whoever had to have forced the picture and Sasuke was looking over to the side, his hand on his hip and looking as annoyed as ever.
Out of all the photos you put in a frame you put that one even as you hated him.
Hate. It's a funny emotion. Isn't it?

I have an idea: what would have happened if Donnie got mind controlled instead of Raph in that one scene in Clash Of The Mutanimals?
“That one scene”
See, my first thought was to do an analysis but then I realized that an analysis on a scene that I could very easily rewrite to answer what is very clearly a prompt (and I will accept it as nothing else) would be less fun. And, I mean, you can’t start in the middle of the story.
You gotta flip back a few pages to get the better picture.
So you get two scenes!!
When Donnie wakes up, his thoughts are sluggish.
Everything blends into one another, hazing his world as he brings a hand to his face. He smashes it against skin, trying to wake up his brain. He’s on his knees. He’s on his knees in a- he opens his eyes, giving the room a lost look- a red room?
“…Where… Am I?” He rubs again, frustrated by the lack of compliance, trying to remember how he got here or why there’s a little fluttering sound from somewhere behind him-
Something thuds, quietly. He drops his hand, looking towards it.
His eyes widen. Shredder puts on his helmet.
“Your new home, mutant.”
Nope, nope, nope, nope to that-
Donnie scrambles to his feet, turning around-
Tiger Claw is there, blade held up to his plastron.
Donnie’s bo finds its way to his hands, knocking it away as he steps back. It’s a long range weapon, awful in close quarters- but now he’s closer to Shredder.
His eyes immediately go up to scan the room, looking for another exit plan-
“Drop the staff.”
Donnie does. Then he panics, going for it-
“Leave it.”
His muscles lock up. He wants to reach for it but he doesn’t. He can’t move. He can’t get so much of a twitch out of his fingers, hand beginning to shake from the strain. He can’t reach it he can’t pick it up why can’t he reach it-
He can’t reach it and Shredder’s behind him- he’sbehindhim- and goosebumps smear down his skin with his presence- it’s not working- so Donnie aborts.
Donnie abandons his staff and goes for the kunai in his belt, spinning around and going for the neck-
“Stop.”
Donnie stops. He stops the whole motion, dropping any pretense of continuing so he can step back and gasp, “What did you do to me?”
Shredder looks at Stockman, “None of the others had these results.”
“No.” Stockman agrees. Donnie’s head hurts, a dizzying kind of pain as tries to remember how he got here. Who are these others? Where are his brothers? What happened to his brothers? “We had the psychic within the second command.”
Psychic?! April?!
Shredder looks at him. The intense feeling of vulnerability returns under his stare and his eyes dart to the door across the room.
“Come to me.”
Oh no-
Donnie does, pain blossoming with every step that he fights. So he stops fighting, legs stopping him right in front of the horror of many nightmares, and he whispers, “What did you do to me?”
“I changed your alliance.” He responds cooly. “Your loyalties belong to me now.”
His heart pulsates. Pinprick eyes narrow. “No.”
“Yes.” He leans closer. “Bow to me.”
His muscles lock again, only this time, it’s his intention. He refuses to get down, refuses to bow before another master- no matter how hot the fire in his brain is, no matter how much it hurts- he won’t make him he can’t make him he’s stronger than-
“Bow.” Shredder booms as his voice darkens. “Now.”
The fire explodes, raining down on everything. He wants to scream.
Silently, swiftly, he falls to his knees, head bowed low.
“Good.” Shredder says. “Look at me.”
He looks up, eyes a soulless white.
“Grab your weapon.” Shredder releases the blades of his gauntlet as he stands. “And attack me.”
Leo is all too relieved to find Donnie alive.
When Leatherhead breaks through the gate, his younger brother has positioned himself on one of the statues. He isn’t bothered by the crash, continuing to fire one of Tiger Claw’s weapons at Shredder. Admist them, he throws down a smoke bomb.
It lands under his feet, exploding and sending him into his back.
Donnie pounces with Raph and Mikey’s overjoyed cries, “Woah, Donnie!” “Go Dee!” but Leo notices how he lands on the armor, how a gauntlet blade slices against his ankle and he doesn’t even react.
He’s never seen him that- focused before.
That doesn’t matter now, because Donnie has the gun pointed at the flesh of his face and he’s not firing, “Donnie! Do it! End this!”
Donnie doesn’t move or even react to his voice, and their brothers look to Leo as their leader scans for any other threats, anything that might be holding him back.
Raph bursts, “What is he waiting for?!”
Donnie turns, and he steps off, setting the ray in Shredder’s outstretched hand when he rises.
Shredder laughs.
Leo can’t take his eyes off his little brother.
“Donatello is mine now to control.”
The gate slams shut behind them. Leo’s heart pounds.
“As are your other mutant friends.”
The mutanimals come out of their respective places behind the statues. Raph’s worried voice calls, “Slash!”
Slash looks at Raph and he raises his mace. Leo reaches out a hand to the side, a means of comfort and a warning to stay still, as Tiger Claw preens, “No escape for you, reptiles.”
Shredder holds out the weapon to his second-in-command. Donnie pulls out his staff, unsheathing the blade.
“Donnie?” Mikey asks, a tremor in his voice.
Donnie doesn’t acknowledge it, moving beside Shredder.
“Now.” Shredder announces. “Let us welcome you properly.”
Leo doesn’t give him the chance. He bolts to the front of the group, launching himself at the monster that stole his little brother.
Shredder doesn’t move.
Donnie does.
He places himself as a boundary between Leo and Shredder, catching his katanas before they can hit. Leo has no choice but to throw himself away, snapping, “Donnie! Back off!” He reorients himself, hitting the ground. “Shredder’s the enemy!”
“My allegiance does not lie with you.” He responds simply. “Nor does my loyalty.”
Then Donnie’s crossing the distance, whirling his staff and throwing himself at Leo. Leo goes to meet him halfway, determined to knock him off his feet long enough to get through to him, startled by how different every move is.
There’s no hesitation to each blow, no extra care taken to prevent injury or calculation made to get the best outcome. He reacts every time, practically taking off Leo’s head and limbs more than once, only prevented by his quick reaction time. If he’s being perfectly honest with himself, he’s normally one step ahead, but now he can barely keep up. He’s forced to neglect their surroundings to focus on each blow, hoping that he can trust their brothers to handle their own.
Then his katanas are embedded in Donnie’s staff and Donnie’s knee is coming up to catch his chin. He stumbles, realizing too late that he left his blades behind.
Donnie tears them out and throws them out of reach.
Leo knows he won’t last two seconds unarmed so he puts distance between them, getting to the top of one of the statues. Donnie doesn’t follow, watching from the ground, and Leo uses the breathing room to reach for his brother. “Donnie! This isn’t you! Think about it! You’ve got to break Shredder’s control!”
“I am thinking clearly.” His little brother’s voice in unnatural, bland and bored in tone. “And I do not align with you anymore.”
Leo points at the monster watching, baffled. “I’m your brother! That’s the Shredder!”
“I don’t care what you think.” Donnie plants his staff on the ground. “I do not follow you anymore, Leonardo. Accept it.”
“No.” Leo snarls as he throws one of the weapons embedded in the statue’s head, taking the trident with him. “Never.”
Donnie throws the first away, barely able to stop the trident with his bo. Leo presses down hard. Donnie’s expression changes and his eyes narrow, suddenly dropping the protective stance.
“Woah!” Leo’s blade almost crashes into his forehead, but he catches it before it scrapes skin. They stare at one another, frozen, and Donnie states, “There. A weakness.”
He brings his staff up, knocking the blade away from his face, and then takes off.
Obviously, Leo follows him, and watches as he throws himself into Leatherhead’s and Slash’s battle. He jumps in the way of the mace and Slash hits him without blinking. He goes flying, and Leo screams, “LEATHERHEAD!”
Leatherhead throws him. He reaches his brother, arms around him, taking the combined blow of them both slamming into the gate. Donnie doesn’t hesitate, spinning around to shove the throwing star in his hand into Leo’s shoulder.
Leo catches his wrist, hissing, “Donnie-”
Donnie elbows him in the gut and takes off.
He runs towards Rockwell and Raph as the psychic mutant tries to impale their brother with his own sais. Donnie jumps up as they fly through the air. Leo grabs his legs, dragging them back down before they can impale him.
Donnie swerves for him, staff coming down on his skull as they hit the ground, but Leo releases and rolls. Then he tackles his younger brother before he can try that idiocy again, trapping both arms against the ground, “Donnie! Stop this madness!”
Donnie grits his teeth, each thrashing movement more intense than the last. “No!”
“Yes!” He doesn’t let up. “You’re his puppet! Can’t you see that?”
“Let me go!”
“Snap out of it!”
“Leo, please!” He begs. “You’re hurting me!”
Leo’s world tilts the wrong way, panic searing straight from his heart and into his brain, apology on the tip of his tongue. But he swallows it because Donnie’s eyes do not match his tone, cold and hard in a way that can never rule or not define his passionate little brother.
“Are you-” It hits him. “-are you trying to manipulate me?”
Donnie raises an eye ridge, pausing in his struggle. “What took you so long?”
Leo’s chest burns. So that’s the play? Really? Fine.
“I can’t believe you.” Leo tears himself away, putting distance between them. He turns back to his brother as he spins his staff. “I can’t believe you would do that!”
Donnie moves a few steps. Leo refuses to follow, “You’ve been with Shredder all of five minutes and this is the monster he turns you into?”
A pause, “I am no different.”
“You bet you are.” He growls. “I thought better of you. But I should have known. Of course you can’t stop this! You’re not strong enough! I can’t believe you’d disappoint me like this.”
His stance falters. “What?”
Leo steps towards him, never breaking their gaze. “You heard me. You’re a disappointment, Donatello.”
The staff slips from his fingers. He pushes, “You want to stay here? By all means! Stay! I won’t waste any energy stopping you.”
There are tears in blank eyes. Leo turns away.
A final nail in the coffin, he shouts. “Have fun with your new clan. Today, you are no longer my brother!”
Leo runs. Donnie gasps, “Leo, wait-!”
He chokes and Leo spins around in an instant.
He’s by his side as he hits his knees, gagging the brainworm onto the ground. Leo stabs it as it squirms, setting his attention on his little brother, hands on shaking shoulders. “Donnie?”
“I’m sorry,” He whimpers, looking up, face streaked with tears. “I’m sorry I’m sorryI’msorryImsorry-”
“Nonono-“ Leo hugs him, tight, his little brother’s head on his shoulder. “It’s okay. You don’t have to apologize. I didn’t mean a single word I said- I swear, I didn’t.
“I couldn’t-“ His breath hitches. “I couldn’t stop-“
“I know.” He says gently. “I know I know- I went too far. I just wanted to snap you out of it and I wanted to get you back. You’re my brother, you never disappointed me, and I’d never leave without you. I wanted you back. I just wanted you back.”
Donnie pulls away, looking him in the eyes, desperation visible, “Really?”
“I promise.” Leo squeezes his arm. “I swear on my life.”
He swallows, breath hitching, brushing at his face.
Leo gets to his feet. “GUYS! GET THEM UPSET! FEELING SOMETHING SNAPS THEM OUT OF IT!”
“GOOD!” Raph calls back. “RIGHT UP MY ALLEY!”
Leo looks to Donnie. His younger brother exhales softly, brown eyes lingering uncomfortably on the brainworm.
He holds out his hand. Tired eyes look up.
“He’s not the only one.” Leo jokes, lightly. “Why don’t I make it up to you?”
He pulls his little brother to his feet.
“Oh yeah?”
He smirks. “Help me take down the Shredder?”
Determination sparks, lighting up his gaze, strengthening his stance.

Prompt 2 & 7 with Itachi?!?
I had to go through my masterlist from top to bottom to find the original post, lol.
IT'S FROM 2023 lol but you can ask anything from there if you want.

The air between them was thick with the remnants of heat, but neither of them moved to leave the bed. Not yet.
Itachi lay beside her, dark eyes half-lidded, watching as her fingertips ghosted along his arm. A delicate touch, slow and thoughtful, as if committing him to memory. She traced the faint silver of a scar stretching over his forearm, the aftermath of a kunai that had cut too deep once.
–This one?– she murmured, her voice still softened by the weight of their time together.
He hummed, fingers lifting to brush along her wrist, his touch featherlight against her pulse.
–Mission in Iwagakure.– His lips curved, the faintest hint of amusement in his tone. –Shisui was furious. He said it was careless of me.–
–He wasn’t wrong.
Itachi let out a soft exhale that could have been a laugh, but he said nothing as she moved next, fingertips gliding over his ribs, down to the faintest remnant of a burn near his hip. She leaned in, lips barely brushing against the skin there, as if soothing a wound long since healed.
A shiver ran through him.
It was his turn now. He shifted, fingers trailing down the curve of her spine, pausing when they found a mark along her shoulder blade. A thin line, one he knew hadn’t been there when they’d first met.
He didn’t ask where it came from. He knew.
Instead, he traced it carefully, memorizing the way her breath hitched beneath his touch. His lips followed, a ghost of warmth against her skin, reverent in the way only he could be.
Silence stretched between them, but it wasn’t empty. It was filled with the quiet exchange of fingertips mapping one another, lips chasing faded wounds, breathing in the truth of their bodies beyond the intimacy they had shared just moments before.
Eventually, she sighed, pushing herself up, looking around the room for—
–Oh, can’t find your clothes?
His voice was a whisper, smooth and warm in the dim light.
She turned, arching a brow, and found him watching her with something unreadable in his gaze. He reached to the side, gathering the fabric of his discarded haori, and with the ease of someone who had already made up his mind, he draped it over her bare shoulders.
–Wear mine.– His voice dipped, quiet but firm. –They look better on you anyway.–
She stilled, looking down at the way his clothing pooled over her frame, the scent of him wrapping around her like an unspoken claim.
Then, finally, a smile.
–You just don’t want me to leave yet.
He didn’t deny it.
Instead, he pulled her back down beside him, arms settling around her waist, his breath warm against the crook of her neck.
No more words were needed.

Mk1 characters with witch!reader | Dialogues
*•.¸♡Request: no
*•.¸♡Prompts: none
*•.¸♡Warnings: A couple of uses of y/n (I tried to keep them minimal), flirty, threatening, sweet fluff, the whole shebang, I've never written for mk before so go easy on me
*•.¸♡Paring: Various mk1 characters x gn!witch!reader
*•.¸♡Summary: just some fun dialoge of the mk1 charchters and a witch reader
*•.¸♡Words: 1k
*•.¸♡A/N: Merry Christmas y'all!!
Tomas : I faced far worse than an outworld witch.
y/n: You may jest now, but beware, for my spells can turn jesters into ghosts.
Tomas : Forgive me, but I do not understand the threat you pose.
y/n: Dear, sweet Tomas. Underestimate me at your peril. My hexes have a way of adding a bit of spice to the ordinary. Care for a taste?
y/n: Feel flattered Tomas, you have been the only Lin Kuei to pose a challenge.
Tomas : I cannot except your compliment's y/n, I truly can’t see a way I win this fight.
❊╌──┈⊰᯽⊱ 𝒌𝒖𝒂𝒊 𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒈 ⊰᯽⊱┈──╌❊
Kuai Liang : I wish you no harm, but be prepared to lose.
y/n: I brew potions stronger than your fire, darling. Try not to get scorched by the truth.
y/n: Is it just me, or did the room light up the moment you walked in?
Kuai Liang : That’s my Kunai, I’ll try not to cut you… too bad.
y/n: Cross my path again, and you'll find out how swiftly my curses take effect.
Kuai Liang : Your threat has been noted, little witch.
❊╌──┈⊰᯽⊱ 𝒃𝒊-𝒉𝒂𝒏 ⊰᯽⊱┈──╌❊
Bi-Han : It is foolish to face me, witch.
y/n: Ha! I mastered the art of Ice Manipulation when I was a child. You are the foolish one.
y/n: If ignorance is bliss, you must be the happiest person in the room.
Bi-Han : Mind your tongue.
Bi-Han : I can't believe I need to waste my time killing you.
y/n: Oh please, Bi-Han. I don't need a crystal ball to predict your imminent exit from my life.
❊╌──┈⊰᯽⊱ 𝒔𝒚𝒛𝒐𝒕𝒉 ⊰᯽⊱┈──╌❊
Syzoth : So, you cast spells?
y/n: Why cast spells when I can cast smiles? Yours is my favourite enchantment.
y/n: I'd advise you against challenging me. My curses have a way of sticking around longer than you'd like.
Syzoth : Do you stick around as well?
Syzoth : I heard you're a witch. Do you do shows?
y/n: Mock my craft, and you'll wish you had never left that travelling carnival.
❊╌──┈⊰᯽⊱ 𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏 ⊰᯽⊱┈──╌❊
Raiden : They say magic is in the little things, sweet y/n.
y/n: Then consider me your personal witch for these enchanting moments, sweet Raiden.
Raiden : I sense sparks between us.
y/n: I thought you had been practising with your amulet.
y/n: Cross my path, and the shadows you'll meet will be darker than any you've ever known.
Raiden : You must wield very dark magic then, witch.
❊╌──┈⊰᯽⊱ 𝒌𝒖𝒏𝒈 𝒍𝒂𝒐 ⊰᯽⊱┈──╌❊
Kung Lao : I can’t wait to tell everyone I beat you.
y/n: Oh, please, darling. I could turn you into a toad with a flick of my perfectly manicured finger.
y/n: Why fly on a broomstick when I can use that thing you call a hat to soar above your nonsense?
Kung Lao : Hey! I thought it was creative.
y/n: I could make your dreams come true, but first, you'll need some better dreams.
Kung Lao : Lucky for me, I dream of you.
❊╌──┈⊰᯽⊱ 𝒍𝒊𝒖 𝒌𝒂𝒏𝒈 ⊰᯽⊱┈──╌❊
y/n: Tell me Lord Liu Kang, what was I like in this other timeline?
Liu Kang : All I can say is you're far more responsible in this one.
Liu Kang : I must commend your skills, witch. You have far exceeded any expectations.
y/n: Did you just compliment me? By the elder gods, what was I like before?
Liu Kang : Are you sure you wish to battle me, young witch?
y/n: I’m sure I want you to remember when I best you.
❊╌──┈⊰᯽⊱ 𝒋𝒐𝒉𝒏𝒏𝒚 𝒄𝒂𝒈𝒆 ❊╌──┈⊰᯽⊱
Johnny Cage : I gotta ask-
y/n: No! I cannot saw you in half. At least with you surviving.
Johnny Cage : Have you ever been on the big screen? People go crazy for witches.
y/n: While I thank you for the opportunity, Cage, my magic is not made for the big screen.
Johnny Cage : Whoa! Witches in outworld are way better looking.
y/n: Did you expect me to have a long green nose and melt in the rain?
❊╌──┈⊰᯽⊱ 𝒌𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒉𝒊 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒔𝒉𝒊 ⊰᯽⊱┈──╌❊
y/n: I'm not a mind reader, but I'd love to know what's brewing in that mysterious mind of yours.
Kenshi Takahashi : I can assure you, you’re the only one surrounding my mind.
y/n: Think twice before meddling with my spells. The repercussions can be... unexpected.
Kenshi Takahashi : Sorry if I hurt your feelings, but I’m more intrigued than threatened.
Kenshi Takahashi : WIth Sento at my side, I can not lose.
y/n: Challenge me, and you'll learn that in the realm of magic, the victor is seldom the one who laughs last.
❊╌──┈⊰᯽⊱ 𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒆𝒏𝒂 ⊰᯽⊱┈──╌❊
Mileena : Consider this your only warning. My wrath is not to be underestimated.
y/n: The feeling is more than mutual, Emperors.
y/n: If I were a witch, I'd cast a spell to make you mine.
Mileena : Luckily, you don't need magic for that.
Mileena : You over saw my mother for some time. Any words of advice for me?
y/n: A kind word to you Empress: underestimate powers you know nothing of, and you may not live long enough to regret it.
❊╌──┈⊰᯽⊱ 𝒌𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒂 ⊰᯽⊱┈──╌❊
Kitana : Must you always be so vigilant, my protector?
y/n: Only when it involves safeguarding the most precious gem in the kingdom.
y/n: I put the 'hex' in 'hexcellent.'
Kitana : That’s not as amusing as you think it is.
Kitana : I never expected a witch to be so charming.
y/n: Well, I say chivalry isn't dead, especially when there's a princess to impress.
❊╌──┈⊰᯽⊱ 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒍 ⊰᯽⊱┈──╌❊
Sindel : You must have heard the news of Mileena’s condition by now?
y/n: I shall try everything in power to help. It’s the least I can do for you.
Sindel : I’m sorry for what must happen, but do know I will always value you in my life.
y/n: I have served you for some time Empress, one battle will not sway my loyalty.
y/n: Your daughters have become great fighters, your majesty.
Sindel : They have found a great teacher with you, y/n.

Growing up & being kids with Itachi and Shisui
Ever since I watched the first episode of Percy Jackson series, I was struck by the fact that all these characters are still kids. Rick did such a great job portraying them so accurately. Children soldiers, sacrificing themselves for an adult cause. Sounds familiar? Well, it prompted me to write those headcanons
All three of you believed yourself to be sooo mature, but in reality, none of you were free from engaging in embarrassing, childish behavior.
Spending all your money on stupid shit you'll never use. Two sided kunai? You're sharing that abomination and flexing it, not so subtly, in front of your superiors.
Coming up with a name for your group, then for a week using it almost constantly, in hopes that others pick it up.
When you and Itachi were still in the academy, teachers gushed over him, praising his calm demeanor and attentive nature. He was always listening. But was he, really? In fact, he was looking out the window and vividly hallucinating himself in different scenarios, fighting his bullies with a laser beam.
Both you and Itachi were younger than your friend, so you occasionally competed for his attention. Been on a mission? You'll be sure to mention how dangerous it was at least a few times, until Shisui gives a nod of approval.
While I believe the soldier mentality was strong in all of you, even in your childhood, you were just as awkward as "normal" kids when it came to civilian interactions.
Shisui in his edgy era threw a rock at one of his older colleagues. You run away immediately after. Both you and Itachi were so impressed by his nonchalance. Little did you know, he didn't even blink that night.
Building a secret training spot in the forest, making it a big deal in front of Sasuke but not letting him go with you, because he wasn't ready (Itachi felt guilty so he showed it to him anyway, at night so you wouldn't find out).
You in your baddie era, first breakup with a random guy, crying ugly tears, Shisui threatening to beat him up, then seeing him and worrying that he heard that, immediately turning the other way and quickly walking away.
You brought different parts of lunch for training, supposedly out of convenience. Whenever one of you got mad, the rest would be figuring out how to eat the sandwiches without bread. The other person would be sitting across the place, holding eye contact while ostentatiously eating a bare loaf.
And of course, conversations like this
Mine sharingan is infinitely strong so it's stronger than yours
No, mine is infinitely strong + 1 actually🤓
Thank You for reading <3

A Show Of Strength
For @kkgweek The Eternal Rival's Creator Challenge
Prompt: Strength
Point Bracket target: 5500+ (20 points)
Work made alongside @maitogaimybeloved
The scene in front of her could only be described as a painting. A rough, broken, tattered painting that made no sense no matter how many times or what direction she looked at it from.
Her nose twitched and her eyes narrowed, a look of disgust making its home on her face as she watched the scene unfold in front of her.
If Neji and Lee weren’t with her, forcing themselves to watch the same terrible scene as she was being subjected to, it was likely no one would ever believe it truly happened
Even with the two of them backing her up, it was still a stretch to think anyone would believe her.
She hardly believed herself.
“Come on, Kakashi,” her Sensei insisted, a proud smile on his face to cover the desperation in his voice. “It has been far too long since our last challenge.”
“It has only been a week,” Kakashi-Sensei argued, a hand running through his spiky silver hair. “Or did you forget about the sushi eating contest because you lost?”
“I did not forget,” watching as her Sensei jabbed a finger against his rival’s chest, she began to wonder if there was a jutsu that existed that could make someone less embarrassing, even if only a little. “It has been two months since that challenge. You’re so busy your days are blending together.”
A thoughtful expression settled into Kakashi-sensei’s eyes. If Tenten had to guess what he was thinking about, it was a detailed breakdown of everything he could remember doing since the aforementioned challenge.
“There was…” her eyes flickered down to his hands, a smile tugging at her lips when she saw his fingers tapping against his leg. A small gesture she’d come to recognize in the few times she’d seen the older man.
He was counting.
Walking himself through the timeline of his life and taking note of every single significant event he could think of that would help him work out a close approximation of the days that had passed between his last challenge and today.
“I went on a mission with Asuma the day after, that lasted three days, and then there was the solo mission I did that took me to the land of stone…”
With each event he vocalized a finger drummed against his leg.
“And then we went on a mission together. That was what, a day?”
“It took a week, Rival,” she couldn’t help but snicker when her Sensei sighed. “Have you had any down time since then?”
“Do I need to answer that?”
“That is your answer,” her Sensei placed a hand over his face, an exhausted sigh escaping his lips. “Even when you’ve been removed from Anbu you continue to overwork yourself.”
“I don’t get all that much choice in the matter,” Kakashi defended himself. “Anyways, let’s not worry about that,” his posture relaxed, fingers no longer tapping against his leg. “You want a challenge, let’s do a challenge. How about an arm wrestle?”
Everyone turned to look at her when she let out a loud, obnoxious snort.
“Sorry,” she tried to wave their attention away, but they all continued to stare. Eye burrowing into her like sharpened Kunai trying to dig their way into her soul. “Just ignore me.”
“Too late,” Neji muttered under his breath.
“Do you have something to say?” Kakashi-sensei asked, his eyes sparkling with amusement as watched her.
“No!” She shook her head viciously, wishing everyone would just return to what they were doing. “I was just…thinking about asking Lee to spar with me!”
As soon as the words left her mouth she regretted them. Lee spun around to face her, his entire body vibrating with excitement. “Is this true, Tenten? Would you really like to spar?”
She had a choice to make now.
Continue with her lie and risk being trapped in a spar that would only end when Lee was exhausted, which wouldn't be until tomorrow morning knowing her luck, or fess up and just say what she was thinking when she’d snorted.
“No,” she sighed, regretting her decision immediately when she saw all the excitement evaporate right off of Lee’s face. “It’s just…isn’t that a bit of an unfair challenge?”
“Unfair?” her Sensei tilted his head. “There are certainly such challenges, but I do not believe this is one of them, is it Rival?”
“Not at all,” pocketing his hands, Kakashi-Sensei watched her with calculating eye. “Who’s it unfair for, exactly?”
“Well…you.”
Both the older men seemed taken aback by he answer.
“Me?”
“Ya,” she nodded. “Gai-Sensei is jacked. I mean, look at him,” she waved her hand toward her Sensei, ignoring the proud smile that stretched across his face and the slight flex of his arms as he showed off his muscles. “And you’re…well,” gesturing toward Kakashi-sensei’s arms, she found herself at a loss for words. “Not?”
“My uniform is baggy.”
“Oh come now, Rival,” her sensei smacked his friend across the back before wrapping an arm around his shoulders. “You can admit it. You do not have the fine physique that I do.”
A look crossed over Kakashi-sensei’s face.
One she’d seen on Gai-sensei’s and Lee’s faces almost every day.
Unrestrained determination.
“Now if you want, we could show my dear stu- Kakashi!”
With no warning, and more glee than she’d ever seen him express before, Kakashi-Sensei turned to face Gai-Sensei and promptly threw him over his shoulder. Not even in a nice, friendly way either. He grabbed Gai-Sensei’s arm and yanked him right over his shoulder, leaving the usually cheerful man sputtering for a response.
“Well, he can lift that’s for sure,” Neji noted. “Gai-Sensei isn’t a light person to pick up.”
“I can’t even do a single push-up with Gai-Sensei on my back yet, or pull him to his feet without his aid,” Lee muttered, a fire lighting in his eyes and his arms flying up so Tenten had to duck to the side to avoid being punched in the face in his excitement. “I’ll have to work even harder!”
Without pause he turned around and ran off, his voice trailing behind him. The only words Tenten managed to catch were ‘run’ and ‘village’ which she had come to understand as Lees first step in a training regime that would give her nightmares.
“See?” Kakashi-Sensei asked, eyes focused on Tenten even as his free hand came up and smacked Gai-Sensei’s ass. A move that earned him a firm smack to the back of his head.
“Gross,” Tenten grumbled under her breath. “But also that doesn’t really prove anything.”
“He just deadlifted Gai-Sensei,” Neji argued. “That at least deserves a little respect. We saw what happened to Genma-San when he tried the same thing.”
Thinking back to that beautiful moment, Tenten snorted. Genma had been so determined to show off just how strong he was that he’d tried the exact same move they’d just watched Kakashi-sensei preform, except instead of ending with Gai-sensei sitting comfortably on his shoulder he’d found himself flat on his ass with a sore shoulder and an amused Gai-sensei staring down at him.
“Alright, so he’s stronger than Genma-san,” she shrugged, still not all that impressed. “That’s to be expected of Gai-sensei’s rival, and a top Jonin of Konoha.”
“That’s true,” nodding his head, Neji hummed. “Still doesn’t prove he’d be able to pose a real challenge in an arm wrestle.”
“Jeez Gai, what are you teaching these kids…”
“To have expectations?”
“Rude,” leaning forward, Kakashi-sensei let Gai-sensei slip down his shoulder until his feet hit the ground. As soon as they’d touched down, her sensei straightened himself up. “Can you think of anything I can do to impress students who have clearly only seen the best of Konoha,” he gestured to Gai “and…Genma.”
“It could be worse.”
“How?”
“Their other example of strength could have been Ebisu.”
Tenten expected a response. Some sort of rebuttal, or even words of agreement.
What she got instead was a bored sigh and Kakashi-sensei’s attention turning to her and Neji.
“What do you two want?” he asked.
“Us?” Glancing Neji’s way, Tenten cringed when the only response he gave was a dismissive shake of his head. It seemed it was up to her to come up with an idea. “Well,” tilting her head back she stared up at the sky as she tried to think of the perfect test to see just how strong her Sensei’s ‘eternal rival’ really was.
“Push-ups,” she decided, glancing at Neji's for confirmation. When he nodded in agreement she felt her chest swell with pride. “That’s what we want you to do.”
“Push-ups? That’s it?” hearing a hint of disappointment in Kakashi-sensei’s voice, she crossed her arms over her chest and puffed out her cheeks like a toddler about to have a temper tantrum.
Except she didn’t tantrum.
Instead, she got creative.
“500 push-ups,” she clarified. “With Gai-sensei sitting on your back.”
At that, Gai-sensei propped his arm up on Kakashi-sensei’s shoulder and chuckled. “That might be a little much, even for you Rival.”
Satisfied that she’d posed a genuine challenge, she grinned up at the older man and waited for his response. Deep down she hoped he’d admit that it was too much for him to handle and back down, accepting his defeat with grace.
Instead of that sweet feeling of victory she was hoping to get, Tenten was treated to the slightly terrifying visual of Kakashi-sensei lowering himself to the ground and maneuvering his body so that he was stretched out with only his hands and the tips of his feet holding him up off the ground.
“Kakashi…”
“Come on,” he insisted, lifting one hand up and patting the small of his back. “The quicker we get this over with, the sooner we can have our challenge and go to dinner.”
“You just got back from a mission.”
“And I'll rest after this, I promise,” patting his back once more, Kakashi-sensei settled his hand back against the ground. “You can even wrap me up in a blanket and hold me in bed if that makes you feel better.”
Tenten wasted no time in shooing away the mental image that popped up into her head. The last thing she needed to be thinking about was the things her Sensei did in his down time, especially the things he did with Kakashi-sensei.
“If you pass out-”
“I’m not going to pass out,” Kakashi-sensei insisted, his eyes flickering down for a moment before moving back up to Gai. “I will warn you if I’m about to pass out.”
Contemplating the offer for a moment, Gai-sensei sighed. “You’re determined, so there’s no point in arguing with you about it,” he settled, finally moving to take his spot on Kakashi-sensei’s back. Plopping himself down right where Kakashi-sensei had gestured, he settled in before turning his focus to Tenten. “This was your idea, so you should do the counting.”
“So you want me to count to two-hundred?”
Kakashi-sensei shot her a rather unimpressed glare “You said five hundred push-ups.”
“I did,” reaching her arms behind her she set them down in the grass and leaned back. “But you’re only going to make it to two-hundred before you collapse.”
“Gai.”
“Yes, Rival?” Tenten suddenly felt uneasy when she saw the smile that crept onto her Sensei’s face. It wasn’t the same bright, energetic smile that she was used to seeing. Rather, this smile was dark.
If it was anyone else smiling like that she’d call it creepy.
“She’s paying for dinner when I finish these push-ups.”
“Wh-Hey, i did not agree to that!”
“It’s the rules of the challenge,” Gai-sensei insisted while continuing to smile that unnerving smile. “If you say that someone cannot do something and they prove you wrong, you must pay for the next meal.”
“That’s not fair. Neji never pays for Lee’s meals when he’s wrong about him!”
“To date, I have not been wrong about Lee.” Neji interjected.
“And when you are wrong about him?” she huffed, determined to get a small win before she put her wallet on the line for an agreement she hadn’t even realized she was making. “Are you going to buy him dinner then?”
“If Lee ever proves me wrong,” Neji spoke slowly, the words carefully selected before he allowed them to slip past his lips. “Then yes, I will buy him dinner.”
“I’ll let Lee know it’s a date then,” turning her back firmly to Neji, she ignored his sputtering protests and stared at the two sensei’s in front of her in what could only be described as the most ridiculous position she’d ever seen.
Actually, the second most ridiculous position she’d ever seen.
She had unfortunately been present to witness the day Gai-Sensei had decided to do three-hundred laps around the village while doing a crab walk. Something he’d sworn was good for working out his arms, but which she would never be able to see as anything other than utterly ridiculous.
“You two are-” stopping herself from completing that thought she sighed. It was because of her that they were sitting there, Gai-sensei situated happily on Kakashi-sensei’s back kicking his feet in the air while he waited for the push-ups to begin. “Never mind. Let’s just get this over with before someone sees this.”
Taking the hint, Kakashi-sensei lowered his body until his chest was hovering just an inch above the ground and pushed back upward, completing one of five-hundred push-ups. A fact which Gai-sensei vocalized with a cheerful “one!” while continuing to kick his legs.
“Two!” he called out upon the completion of another push-up, followed by a three, four, five, and six. That cheerful tone sticking to his words with each number he called out.
“Four-hundred and ninety six,” she hated to admit it, but she was impressed. Not only had Kakashi-sensei managed to complete two-hundred push-ups but he’d blown right past that number like it was no big deal.
His stamina had kept up, even at the three-hundred and four-hundred marks.
“Four-hundred and ninety seven,” Gai-senseI continued to count with the same cheerfulness he’d had right from the beginning. There was no hint of exhaustion, annoyance, or any emotion other than unrestrained cheerfulness.
She was just as annoyed about her Sensei’s undying cheerfulness as she was about the fact that she was very close to having to spend money on someone else’s dinner. Specifically someone who could buy her twenty dinners without having to worry if they were going to have enough money for groceries.
She was, after all, only a genin.
The higher ups didn’t give her missions that paid well enough to be throwing away money like that.
“Four-hundred and ninety eight,” she turned her gaze away, no longer able to stomach watching.
“Neji,” she whined. “Make it stop.”
“What do you want me to do about it?” eyes still focused on the scene that Tenten could no longer bring herself to look at, Neji shook his head. “Clearly you underestimated him.”
“I can’t afford to feed him,” she whined, pleading for aid from her teammate even though she knew he could do little more than her to put an end to her suffering. “If he eats anything like Gai-sensei-”
“He eats more than Gai-sensei.”
Her stomach dropped. “Please tell me you’re joking.”
“It might have changed since the last competition I happened upon,” a look of disgust crossed over Neji’s face at the memory. “But even if it has, he’s more than capable of eating enough to empty your wallet and mine before he’s full.”
The news just kept getting worse.
“Four-hundred and ninety nine!” Gai-sensei’s voice rang through the air, the sound of a hard slap echoing close behind it followed by a pained groan.
A surge of excitement rushed through Tenten and her eyes snapped back to the two older men, but much to her disappointment Kakashi-sensei had not collapsed under the force of Gai-sensei’s slap.
Her wallet and dignity were still very much in danger.
“I’ve really done it,” crossing her arms over her chest she pinched her eyes closed. If she had the ability to stop time she would do it right now. Then maybe she’d kick Kakashi-sensei over so he couldn’t finish his push-ups, or just make a break for it before he could complete the final one. If she wasn’t there to see it she could feign ignorance. Act like none of it had really happened and save herself from having to fork over money she probably didn’t have.
“I’m done,” Kakashi-sensei suddenly proclaimed, and Tenten couldn’t help but groan. She hadn’t even heard her Sensei calling out the last number, but here she was. Faced with the reality that Kakashi-sensei could in fact do five-hundred push-ups with a 200 pound muscle machine sitting happily on his back.
“But Kakashi,” her ears perked up, that sickly feeling in her stomach reciding when she heard a slight waver in her Sensei’s voice. “You only have one more push-up to do.”
One more push-up.
One more.
Refraining from jumping and throwing her arms up in the air in triumph, Tenten instead cleared her throat. A poor attempt to conceal the overwhelming joy she was experiencing in the moment. “Are you giving up already, Kakashi-sensei?” she teased, trying to keep her tone light hearted even though she really wanted to celebrate upon the grave that she’s already dug in the front of her memories. A grave that she would happily shove all respect she had for him into, once he conceded defeat.
Not that there was a lot of respect for her to put into the grave. He’d killed almost all respect she originally had for him when he smacked her sensei’s ass in front of her.
“I’m tired,” tilting his body, he forced Gai-sensei to stumble off of his back and proceeded to drag himself to his feet so slowly that she was convinced even Ningame could outpace him. “Besides, four hundred and ninety-nine push-ups should be more than enough to prove that I'm more than capable of handling my own against Gai.”
“Gai-sensei would have been able to do all five-hundred with you on his back,” she huffed, looking for Neji's way for support. “Right?”
“Probably more like a thousand,” Neji confirmed. “Though, to be fair, Gai-sensei is about 200 pounds of pure muscle.”
Dismissing Neji’s excuse with a wave of her hand, Tenten grinned. “It was impressive,” a small smile tugged at her lips. “I just don’t think it’s enough to convince me that you can take Sensei in an arm wrestle. Maybe you should stick to challenges that you have a shot of winning, like eating contests.”
Contests that she wouldn’t have to pay for.
“Maybe you’re right,” running a hand through his hair, Kakashi-sensei chuckled. “And after all those push-ups an eating contest does sound like just the thing i need.”
“A contest that I will surely win this time!”
“Right, of course,” Kakashi-sensei’s eyes seemed to twinkle as he looked at Gai-sensei. If Tenten was someone else she might ask about it, but she was not. In fact, she was the opposite of that imaginary person who wanted to know about what the older man was thinking when he looked at her weirdo sensei.
“Anyways,” turning to Neji, she smiled. “Since I don't have to pay for those two, how about we hunt down Lee and head out to dinner.”
“Your treat?”
Her wallet cried out in agony, but it was a softer, less pained cry than what she would have heard if it was Kakashi-sensei’s dinner she was paying for. “My treat,” she conceded with a sigh. “A small celebration for the whole five hundred ryo I'll be saving.”
Money she was desperately going to need for groceries.
“Knowing Lee, he’s still doing laps around the village. We can probably catch him on his next lap at the village gates,” as he spoke Neji did a one-hundred and eighty degree turn and began walking. Without saying a single word about the situation he’d made it clear that he wanted to leave almost as badly as Tenten did.
If she had to guess, the only reason he’d stuck around as long as he did was to see if Kakashi-sensei would manage to beat her challenge. Whether it was because he was curious to know if he could pose the kind of challenge their sensei deserved in an arm wrestle, or just standard curiosity about the older man’s abilities, she didn’t know. Neither did she care.
The fact that she had someone sitting at her side while she waited for the challenge to come to a satisfying conclusion was all she truly cared about. She wasn’t sure she’d have been able to handle this entire scenario all on her own.
“Don’t forget, training at seven am sharp tomorrow!” Gai-sensei called after them. “Don’t be late!”
His words reached her ears, but Tenten paid them no heed.
She’d be there, bright and early, for a morning full of painful exercises and exhausting spars. That was a problem for tomorrow, though. Tonight, all she wanted to focus on was what she was going to eat for dinner and the weight of money still being in her money pouch.
There seemed to be a little more pep in Tenten’s step as she made her way out of the training field with Neji at her side.
Almost as if she was feeling victorious.
Kakashi chuckled at the thought. He’d debated finishing that last push-up and claiming sweet victory, but then he’d gone and made the worst mistake he could have made.
He looked back at Tenten.
He’s been hoping that she’d be looking at him with respect. Acknowledging the skills she had so quickly judged.
Instead, the expression he saw on her face was one of hopelessness.
It was at that moment that he knew he couldn’t finish that final push-up, even if it would mean bragging rights over the young shinobi for the rest of his possibly short life.
Rolling his left shoulder, Kakashi groaned when it gave a satisfying pop. “Ah, that was a lot,” he’d felt energized while he was doing the push-ups, but now felt a wave of exhaustion rush over him.
Perhaps agreeing to Tenten’s challenge hadn’t been such a great idea.
“You gave up too soon,” he didn’t bother to look Gai’s way. Doing so would only result in him having to face down the look of disappointment, a specialty of Gai’s. Thinking a bit more about it, it was the only look Gai could give him that had the desired effect. That effect being, of course, making Kakashi feel like he’d committed some egregious crime that could only be atoned for with Gai’s special brand of self punishment.
“I’m tired.”
“Your arms weren’t even beginning to wobble. You had at least another two-hundred push-ups in you.”
“One-hundred and fifty,” he corrected, still refusing to look Gai’s way. “And even if I did I would have stopped at five-hundred.”
“But you didn’t. You stopped at four-hundred and ninety-nine,” a finger prodded into his side, calling his attention to Gai. he refused to give it, though. After a week-long mission and four-hundred and ninety-nine push-ups the last thing he wanted to see was that look in Gai’s eyes. The one that somehow mixed disappointment and judgement so perfectly that it created a whole new look that was impossible for anyone else to mimic. If he did, he was likely to cave and do those last one-hundred and fifty push-ups out of a deep feeling of shame. “You gave up, Ka-ka-shi.”
The drawn out pronunciation of his name sent shivers down his spine.
“Can’t we just say I was tired and call it a day?” he tried, grunting when Gai poked him in the side again. “Stop that.”
“Not until you explain why,” another poke, this time just below his rib cage. He squirmed away, smacking Gai’s hand when he tried to go for a fourth poke. “Come on, Ka-ka-shi,” that drawn out pronunciation struck again, earning Gai a sharp glare. A mistake on Kakashi’s part. As soon as his eyes locked onto Gai’s he was greeted with that look.
The look that made his disappointed glance seem like child’s play.
The soul crushing, heart stomping look that screamed ‘why don’t you love me anymore?’ even though Kakashi had done nothing to warrant Gai questioning his love for him.
“You are the worst.”
“I’m your worst,” Gai corrected, that look vanishing in an instant, replaced by a cheerful smile that suited Gai’s handsome face much better. “Now explain. You’re not one to throw away a free meal like that.”
“It’s different.”
“How so?”
Thinking through his options, Kakashi sighed. He didn’t want to lie to Gai and say that he was just tired. Doing so would earn him a lecture about underestimating his capabilities and a challenge that was likely to end with him too exhausted to get out of bed tomorrow.
Trying to sidestep the conversation was also likely to fail. Gai was determined to get an explanation out of him so no matter what crafty excuse he came up with to try and redirect his focus, it was guaranteed to fail.
The only logical option was to tell the truth.
“I might have…felt bad.”
“Felt…bad?” Gai repeated.”You?”
“She looked so sad and defeated and…honestly a little pathetic,” not that he would ever say that when Tenten was within earshot. He’d never hear the end of it if she caught wind that anyone, let alone the man who’d been pile driven into the ground by Gai during their last spar that his students just happened to be watching, had referred to her as ‘pathetic’. “And really, it’s just bad form having a lower ranking shinobi pay for my dinner isn’t it?”
Gai snorted. “I can’t wait to tell Tenzo that you said that.”
“Tenzo is different,” he argued. “For one, there’s no rank in Anbu. If there was, he'd at least be a Jonin.”
“Are you certain about that?”
“If Ebisu can be a Jonin, Tenzo would be a jonin.”
“He’s a special jonin,” the way Gai waved his fingers around as he said ‘special’ did nothing to convince Kakashi that he wasn’t saying those words as a way to mock Ebisu’s rank. “And that doesn’t change anything. Even if Tenzo was an official Jonin he’d still be your subordinate.”
“Alright, let me explain it a bit better,” though he wasn’t convinced he could, he would give it his best shot. “Do you remember when we were Genin?”
“Of course! It was the beginning of our springtime of youth! We were passionate and talented and-”
“Poor,” Kakashi finished for him, refraining from laughing when the smile dropped right off of Gai’s face. “We were poor. Me not as long as you perhaps,” the glare he received for that underhanded jab was capable of killing a weak willed shinobi. Thankfully, he was not weak willed. “My point is that I remember the days when I was still a genin worrying about fending for myself. If Tenten had parents, or the orphanage was capable of taking proper care of the kids that it’s supposed to take care of, I wouldn’t feel bad about making her pay for my dinner.”
“But because she is mostly responsible for fending for herself now that she’s a genin, it’s different,” nodding, Gai sighed. “Fine, just this once I can forgive you for giving up.”
Seeing an opening, Kakashi took a step to the side. Just close enough so his arm brushed against Gai’s. “You know, now that we’re alone we could do something fun.”
“Like a challenge?” Gai beamed, the innocent joy in his eyes too much for Kakashi to handle.
“Sure,” he smiled fondly. “Something like a challenge,” It wasn’t his preferred choice, but he’d have time later to get what he wanted out of Gai. “something easy though, please. I really am tired.”
“That arm wrestling you suggested originally would be rather easy, though I guess after nearly five-hundred push-ups it would be a bit unfair,” he ignored the playful jab Gai made at his failure to finish all five-hundred promised push-ups. “I could even the playing field of course. It wouldn’t take long.”
“Too long for my liking. How about something we can do right away?”
“You’re usually happy to do anything. In a rush, rival?”
“I just got back from a mission a few hours ago,” he reminded his partner. “Beside’s, the day is almost over. I want to get to bed at a reasonable hour tonight.”
“Because you’re genuinely tired, or because you want to wake up early to go to the cemetery?” Gai watched him with curious eyes, no doubt having thoughts about Kakashi’s morning rituals in that pretty head of his.
“Both,” turning to face Gai, he leaned in close. The tips of their noses touched, and for a beautiful, silent moment, Kakashi felt like Gai’s warm arms were wrapped around him. That moment ended as soon as Gai closed the distance between them and pressed his lips against Kakashi.
There was a thin, scratchy mask sitting between their lips, but that did nothing to stop the two of them from sharing a tender kiss. A kiss that Kakashi had no doubt they would repeat, without that scratchy mask, as soon as they were in one of their apartments.
Gai was the first to move away, stopping only when Kakashi buried his fingers into those beautiful black strands of hair. He didn’t pull him back in for another kiss, but instead just held him there. Just close enough for his breath to brush against his face.
“I missed you, Turtle.” he whispered, the rest of his words resting in the back of his mind waiting for the security of privacy for him to say them aloud.
“And I missed you, Rival,” Gai answered with a tenderness that made Kakashi weak in the knees. “I hope you have a bit more time in the village before your next mission. It seems like you’re never here anymore.”
“Lord Third told me he was keeping me off missions for the next week,” he took the news better than he had last year, if only because he was finally getting used to the old man trying to stick him with a team of genin after the academy’s final exams. “So you’ll have me for at least a week.”
Gai’s arms snaked around his waist. “A week sounds wonderful,” he smiled. “We’ll be able to fit at least three challenges into that time.”
Burying his face into Gai’s shoulder, Kakashi pressed his mouth right into the meaty part. The best part of the body to muffle the sound of his laughter. He’d expected Gai to make some mention of the challenges they could have of course, he just couldn’t help being caught a little off guard when he slipped it in at their most intimate moments.
Once he’d recovered from that surprise bout of laughter he straightened himself up and looked Gai right in the eyes. “Dinner first,” he declared, leaving no room for argument or compromise. “I’m thinking about our usual spot. Some Nigiri, Maki, Sashimi,”
“Tempura?” Gai added, his eyes practically glowing with excitement.
“Tempura,” he agreed. “All for you, as always.”
Satisfied with that answer, Gai tugged him right up against his body and swooped in for another quick kiss. This one just as tender as the last, though it ended a little too quickly in Kakashi’s opinion.
“Then it’s decided. We’ll have a race to the restaurant!” he declared, laughing that brilliant laugh of his when Kakashi stared at him with a dazed expression. Whether he was dazed from the kiss or from Gai’s declaration, he wasn’t quite sure.
Either way, the words didn’t fully sink in until Gai had released his hold on him and taken a step back.
“Wait…” he blinked, feeling like a fish thrown out of water all of a sudden. “A what?”
“A race!” Gai reiterated. “From here to the restaurant. Loser has to pay for dinner, as always.”
“I don’t suppose I can talk you out of that, can I?” Gai answered his question with a raised eyebrow and a look that told Kakashi if he didn’t agree to the challenge he would be eating dinner alone. “Alright, fine. We can have a race,” he conceded. “Just give me a second to stretch. I don’t need to wake up tomorrow aching because I didn’t stretch my muscles once.”
If he’d been smart he would have done it before throwing Gai over his shoulder like a sack of rice, or before getting down on his hands and knees and doing four-hundred and ninety-nine push-ups.
A genius Kakashi was, but smart usually evaded him when it came to remembering the importance of stretching.
“Be quick about it,” Although he sounded impatient, Gai took the opportunity to begin his own stretches.
A mistake, of course.
“I’ll be quick, i just have to do a few,” stretching his arms over his head he sighed as the muscles in his shoulders released suddenly. “Owww.”
“You really need to take care of your body, Rival,” Gai scolded him. “I know it’s hard on a mission, but it’s still important to take the time.”
“You don’t get to lecture me about taking care of myself Mr. ‘Forgets to eat lunch because he got caught up in training’” lowering his arms so they were extended in front of him he watched as Gai bent over to touch his toes. “Oh, and Gai?”
“Yes?” he didn’t bother to look up, expecting Kakashi to finish his thought once he was given the opening. That was, of course. Not Kakashi’s plan at all.
Instead, he reached out and planted his hands against Gai’s ass, grabbing a hand full of that squishy cake and snickering to himself when Gai let out a loud yelp. Before his rival could straighten himself up and turn for the attack he gave a hard shove and promptly jumped over Gai’s falling body.
His feet hit the ground at the same time as Gai’s face, and the sound of his partner's strangled protests followed him as he made a run for it. It wasn’t fair, or honourable, but none of that mattered at the moment.
The only thing he cared about was beating Gai to the restaurant and enjoying some delicious free sushi.

I feel like Sasuke probably went on all kinds of missions during the timsekip when he was with orochimaru. During that time I bet he thought about Naruto a lot. Sort of like he would try not too during the day, but during the night it was soothing to think about.
Like Sasukes drifting off to sleep on his bedroll in a remote field or forest along the road and he realizes that Naruto could be looking up at the same moon.
Oh noooo this prompt was too good 😭 I hope you don't mind me taking this headcanon and running!
The night brings weakness.
It comes naturally, with the need for sleep and rest. Even a ninja’s closed eyes are vulnerable. The best instincts will not save you when your enemy has an advantage.
No, the night is built for weakness. For secrets. For the first hundred, Sasuke barely slept at all. Too untrusting. Too cautious. He collapsed, eventually. He collapsed over and over again. Soon enough, he had to allow himself to be weak. To trust in the guard of others. He wanted to be free of that tether.
But he was not.
And so he either succumbed to another sleepless night, or let the tension relax from his body. Let the warmth soak in. Indulge himself in the night and the stars and the moon. He fights it until he’s desperate, but it’s the only way to win. Sasuke can’t relax until he gives in. Secret moments that he greets in the morning with shame and anger.
In the night, he indulges himself.
He pictures bright eyes and blonde hair. Feet tripping over themselves. A hand rubbing the back of a neck. Scars that stretch with the pull of a smile. Eyes that crinkle with the promise of food. The pride Sasuke felt at besting him. The fear he felt when it looked like he could not.
They’re a lifetime away, now. A past he no longer has. But they comfort him. The memories. They…
Sasuke’s tired eyes blink open, taking in the light of the moon. The way it’s always the same. He’s looked at it before. Sometimes, he hadn’t even been alone. Sometimes.
Is he alone now? He wonders. Is he the only one looking at the moon? Is there someone from his past life, the gold from his memory, looking up at the moon, too? The only way they could reach each other. The only thing they could share.
A useless thought. But a comforting one. The light blurs in front of his eyes. A hazy sort of glow. Not full white. Almost yellow. Almost…orange.
He closes his eyes, but the colour burns on the back of his lids. An orange moon, looking over him. Looking for him. Naruto stands on a balcony, in his bedclothes. They’re too thin for the night. They sway in the wind. His lips move, and Sasuke hears his own name. He hears it too loud. He hears it too close.
Sasuke springs up, eyes open, kunai in his hand—
Morning. A dream. His colleagues raise their hands in acquiescence, and Sasuke snaps the weapon back to his pouch. A dream. A dream. He doesn’t know when he slept. He doesn’t know when his thoughts had lulled him away.
But when he blinks, he still can see it. A bright orange moon, burned onto the back of his lids.

Betrayal's Bond | An Uchiha Brothers Series Chapter 1
Summary: You've been tasked with finding the team of jonin that went missing on their mission to the village hidden in the stars but what happens when you take one Uchiha brother to look for the other? Pairing: Tsundere Sasuke x female!reader x Itachi (love triangle) Word Count: 3k Warnings: Nothing crazy really, a paper bomb goes off but no one is injured a/n: alright here we go first chapter be sure to read the teaser as it has all the information about the mission (very important to the story) List of Terminology
Going though my checklist one last time I make sure I've packed everything I'll need for this mission and come up short on one thing, kunai knives. Sasuke will kill me if I ask him to make a stop for them so I just need to head down to the blacksmith and grab some before we meet up.
As I'm putting my shoes on I get a knock on my door and I jump at the sound. 'I've gotta stop being in my head all the time. It's making me way too jumpy these days' I think to myself before opening it.
"Oh, I thought we were gonna to meet at the front gates" I say, greeting an unimpressed Sasuke. "Figured it'd be easier if I came here so I wouldn't be waiting for you to catch up" he says looking down on me. "You ready?" he asks, cocking a brow.
'Always the charmer Sasuke' I think to myself before sighing out my response. "I need to go get some more kunai and then I'll be good to go" I cringe internally, knowing how annoyed he'll be. I turn my back to him and grab my pack before closing up and locking my door to avoid his glare.
"I have some more back at my place. You can just use those and pay me back later" he offers and starts walking off, leaving me to follow after him. "Are you sure you don't mind?" I question and he simply shrugs as an answer.
"The blacksmith doesn't open for a few more hours so there's no use waiting when we can just do this instead" he explains and keeps on walking. I slow down my pace a bit, shocked at his willingness to help.
'He didn't throw it in my face that I was unprepared or irresponsible or anything. He just offered to help without prompting. Why would he do that?' I question to myself, watching the Uchiha crest on his back as he walks ahead of me. "Come on keep up" he says without turning, sensing that we've gained some distance between us without even looking.
"Coming!" I respond, jogging a few paces to catch up with him.
~~~~
As we walk into the Uchiha clan's part of the village I realize that I've never actually been here before. "Close your mouth and eyes front. You look like a tourist" he grumbles, having seen my reaction in his peripheral.
"I'm sorry, it just looks so different compared to the rest of the village. Especially with the Uchiha crest everywhere. I can see how proud of your clan you all are" I respond, glancing around only occasionally as I follow him down the main road until we've made a few turns to get to his house.
"I'm home" he calls out while we both take off our shoes, "Oh Sasuke I thought you had gone out on a mission, did you forget something? Oh! Hello" his mother says as she walks down the hallway towards us until she comes around the corner into view and notices me.
"Mom this is y/n" Sasuke introduces me quickly before making moves to go grab the kunai. He doesn't really tell me to follow him or if I should stay here so I just opt to stay near the door with his mother.
"So you're Sasuke's teammate for this mission?" his mother asks, curious as to why he's brought me here. "Yes ma'am" I answer and she smiles warmly, making my heart almost ache at the sight of it.
"Y/n right? Sasuke's talked about you before, says you're a really formidable shinobi. I heard you even rivaled him for the top spot in your class at the academy" she praises, making me look down at the floor, shy at her words.
"Sasuke's a lot better than me I assure you" I reply, thankful but still bashful at the though of Sasuke not only talking about me but also telling her I'm a good shinobi.
"Sasuke doesn't talk about people often but when he does it's because they're either annoying or annoyingly good and I believe you're one of the latter" she jokes and we both laugh, quietting down once we hear Sasuke make his way back.
He looks at the both of us suspiciously but doesn't say a word other than a quick goodbye to his mom once again. "It was nice meeting you Mrs. Uchiha!" I say after I finish putting my shoes back on and give her a bow.
"You too dear! Now hurry up and come back soon" she says, smiling as she watches the both of us walk out of the house and down the street. I can't help but wonder if she means come back to the village or if I should come back to their house but I guess for now that'll remain a mystery.
"Do you know your way to The Land of Bears?" Sasuke asks me, breaking my train of thought and bringing my attention back to the mission. "I've seen it on the map and I've been on missions in that general vicinity so more or less yes" I respond and he hums in acknowledgment while we make our way out of the Uchiha clan neighborhood and onto the entrance of the village.
"Have you been there before?" I question, curious as to his answer as well. "No, but I've heard about the things that go on there and I'm interested to find out if they're true" he says, eyes facing forward and focused on leaving the village as soon as possible but going at an okay pace to save our energy for the time being.
"What things?" I question, not remembering anything noteworthy about it. "Have you heard about the so called star that they have in the hidden star village?" he asks, while we wave to the guards at the entrance of the village, having already been made aware of our mission and let us through without issue.
"By the sound of it you would think that they have a star but I haven't heard much about it" I answer truthfully, not bothering to make up any of my own guesses.
"They're big on keeping information away from outsiders so it makes sense you haven't heard much about it" he explains and I turn to look at him for a second but focus back on the road ahead of us so we can stay on course. "This so called star they have seems to be more of a meteor than a star and it's known to give the people who channel the energy from it a special form of chakra" he relays.
"Special form of chakra?" I echo and he nods his head before continuing. "No one really knows exactly what it does but it's known to have a purple hue and manifests in the shape of wings or feathers, depending on the jutsu that's cast" he explains further and I make sure to absorb everything so I can keep it in mind as we continue on our journey.
"Anyway we should pick up the pace since we don't know what kind of situation we'll be walking into" he says, referring to the group we're on our way to find and I nod my head, following his lead.
~~~~
After traveling for a few hours Sasuke suddenly stops, leaving me slowing down to do the same "What is it?" I whisper as I stop on the tree branch next to him but he puts a finger to his lips asking me to stay quiet so I oblige, listening for anything and everything that might clue me in until I hear the whoosh of a kunai headed straight towards us.
"Get down!" he yells, tackling me to the ground and out of harms way before noticing seconds later there's a paper bomb attached to the end and pulling me further away as we hide behind a tree to avoid the blast.
"What was that?" I ask but he puts his fingers to his lips again before peeking his head out around the tree to find the perpetrator but he come up empty handed and turns his focus back to me. "Are you okay?" he asks, assessing my physical state before making eye contact again.
"Yeah I'm fine" I say, getting up from the sitting position he had me in and opting to stand, leaning my back up against the tree, watching behind him while he continues to scope out the area we had been attacked from.
"Alright come out" Sasuke orders, unamused with the situation we had been put in and out comes a young man around our age. Walking aimlessly as though he doesn't have a care in the world until he lays his eyes on Sasuke. Both of the men size each other up but before either one says another word I slip into the conversation.
"You know there's a better way to try and get someone's attention besides throwing a paper bomb at them" I say, crossing my arms over my chest and the guy scoffs, acting as if I'm the one that wronged him.
"What are two Leaf shinobi doing wandering through these parts?" he asks, mimicking my posture as a clear way to egg me on. "We're not wandering, we're passing through. There's a difference" I spit and as the guy makes a move to walk towards me Sasuke gets between us, taking control of the conversation.
"We don't want any trouble. We're just taking the fastest route to our destination" he says, keeping his words clear and concise, only giving the necessary information.
"What's the purpose of your journey?" the guy presses and I jump in, much to Sasuke's displeasure. "It's none of your concern so if you don't mind" I say, walking around Sasuke and past the guy, to continue on our way.
"Where do you think you're going little lady" the he says, grabbing onto my wrist and keeping me still. "I wouldn't do that if I were you" Sasuke warns and the guy clicks his tongue, "Or what?" he presses while tightening his hold on my wrist making me groan in pain, trying and failing to get out of his grasp.
"Let's just say you don't wanna know" Sasuke say, closing his eyes before flashing his Sharingan at the boy making him loosen his grip enough for me to rip my wrist out of his grasp. "J-just steer clear of the woods on this side of the path" he says while taking a few steps back, clearly recognizing the visual prowess of the Uchiha clan.
"Got it" Sasuke responds and narrows his eyes, making him run off to wherever he had come from.
"You shouldn't have done that" I say, rubbing my wrist before administering medical ninjutsu right away, making sure to prevent it from slowing down our mission. "Would you have rather I let him break your wrist?" he says coldly, his eyes watching me curiously as the green glow envelops my arm.
I stay silent at that and continue en route, Sasuke following behind me moments later, jogging a bit to catch up. An unspoken understanding to take it easy for a while as I treat my wrist.
"I didn't know you knew medical ninjutsu" he says, glancing over at my arm again before fixing his eyes on the road ahead of us. "I started training a few months ago so it's relatively new" I respond, looking down at my wrist as well as glancing up every once in a while to make sure I don't trip.
He nods his head and we continue on our journey.
He takes notice of how cautious I'm being about walking and treating myself at the same time and decides to veer off to the right, sitting on a little stone bench on the side of the road we had been walking on.
"What are you doing?" I question, watching as he slumps down on it and rests his head against the back, closing his eyes and trying to get as comfortable as he can given the circumstances.
"Taking a break" he says, not bothering to look at me and I roll my eyes before sitting down at the other end, resting my arm against my thigh as I take a few more minutes to finish treating it, the tender feeling soon fading away.
"You done?" he asks, looking down and noticing that the green glow is gone and I was left rolling my wrist, stretching it out and making sure it's back to normal. "Did you stop just so I could finish treating it?" I question, not bothering to answer his question since the answer is obvious at this point.
"Figured it was better than you tripping or something from not paying attention" he says, getting up and putting his hands in his pockets, walking off without another word.

As we make our way into the first town we come across we decide to find a room for the night, the weather having gotten a lot colder as of late. The crips fall atmosphere changing places with the harsh bite of winter nights.
"I got us one room, hope that's okay" Sasuke says, walking up to where I had taken a seat on one of the benches in the small entryway. "That's fine, thanks" I say, grabbing the spare key. 'Why am I nervous all of a sudden? It's no big deal, he's a teammate. We would've been camping outside together anyways so this might as well be the same thing’.
He takes the lead and guides us to our room on the third floor and unlocks it, letting me in first which is...surprising. I had no idea he would care about simple gestures like that. It's probably because his mom raised him right, that's it. Maybe it's just a reflex.
She does seem like the type of woman to make sure both of her boys are well versed in manners...even though Sasuke comes up short at times.
I grab one of the futons and lay it closest to the window so I can watch the moon rise and take in the stars that some how seem a lot brighter here. Leaving Sasuke to place his on the opposite side of the room, maintaining a respectful distance.
"Don't snore too loud alright? I'd like to at least get some sleep" he mumbles with his back turned to me. "I do not snore!" I raise my voice to defend myself but I hear him scoff. "That's not what your teammates say" he taunts and I curse the two guys that've been stuck with since our days at the academy.
"Lee's the one who’s snores sound like an oncoming storm, plus Neji's a light sleeper and wakes up every five minutes no matter what" I say, standing up and taking my bag into the bathroom to get away from him.
"I'm joking y/n" he taunts again and I roll my eyes, not amused with his efforts. "Didn't know you had a sense of humor" I scoff and the corner of his mouth turns up, amused with my reaction.
"There's a lot you don't know about me" he says and I widen my eyes, surprised by the air of playfulness behind those words and close the door in response, having no clue what I would even say to that. 'Why is he acting so weird?' I think to myself as I get out of my clothes and rinse off before changing into something more comfortable that basically envelops my whole figure.
As I make my way out of the bathroom I see that Sasuke isn't in the room but rather sitting on the balcony outside.
"Bathroom's free" I say and he hums in response, looking up at the moon, no doubt lost in thought, what those thoughts might be I have no clue but I simply decide to take a few steps closer to keep him company.
"Took you long enough" he says, glancing over at me and I shake my head before bothering to respond. "Very funny" I answer dryly, looking up at the moon but soon drifting my gaze down to the town below, now just realizing that I hadn't even bothered take it all in.
We both stand there, enjoying the low buzz of the people outside and breathe in the cool night air, basking in the serenity of the moment.
I turn to go inside and notice that he's seems as though he has no plans of coming in anytime soon. "You should get some rest. We'll be leaving right before dawn" I relay, reminding him that we still have a mission to complete and he nods in acknowledgment but stays just as he is.
"Goodnight Sasuke" I say, sliding the door open and as I slowly close it behind me I hear him whisper a soft "Goodnight y/n" that has my heart fluttering.
I don't know why I'm suddenly feeling like this but I guess there's something about being alone with him that feels...different. If we were on a four or even three man squad I can almost guarantee that we wouldn't have spoken a word to each other besides strategizing or communicating if a situation arises that needs to be dealt with.
I guess that's something that we should talk about if push comes to shove. It's only the two of us but we should still make sure we're on the same page if something were to happen.
Shinobi should always be ready to act and adapt to situations especially in times of battle.
Both of us are strong in our own rite and can take care of ourselves but if we are to go through any challenges we might face successfully then we need to make sure we work together. Teamwork can make or break a mission so hopefully our skillsets will be compatible once combined together.
It is essential to this mission's success.

fic notes, "Don't Be Scared" edition
still chilling after my exam + halloween party with friends + an entire day spent playing hsr (the concept of "the horror of a weaponized delulu girl" is certainly something interesting), so let's go over another Obidei submission of mine, now for day 2 ("My Dear" is pretty simple, so I don't really see the reason to elaborate on that one)
- about the title: kind of on the nose, but both Deidara and Obito tell "Don't be scared" to another, but in vastly different circumstances, one was trying to calm down his, assumingly, skittish partner in the face of his senpai's death, while the other is trying to stop his victim from fighting against his treatment (though in his delusional mind he is trying to simply reassure his disoriented partner)
- i'm still laughing way too hard at the fact that all three fics written for this prompt used cave-in as near death experience of the day. like. are we really that predictable
- so, for as long as I remember there was a pretty heated discussion on why and how Deidara is capable of tolerating pain that well. and it's not just about this fic with Deidara lower half getting entirely crushed and him still being alive and making a coherent talk with Tobi, it's EVERYTHING about Deidara's time alive in Shippuden. we've got: left arm being crushed in the middle of the battle by Gaara and then left untreated for DAYS, right arm being severed with elbow getting sent on a quick date with Obito, being punched in the fucking face by Naruto who was well on his way into getting into his biju chakra cloak mode, somehow fighting off four more taijutsu-oriented shinobi after all of that with nothing but a kunai, hiding underground for like another day with all of his wounds untreated (and even had the strength to strangle Obito with his thighs but tbf that's probably the most in-character thing for us Obidei shippers) and that's just in his debut arc. The battle with Sasuke also featured such wonderful gems such as exploding a bomb right by his head and seemingly not get a concussion, GIANT FUCKING SHURIKENS in his elbows, flying off of an actively exploding minefield and still having the time to get PTSD flashback. like, Deidara's ridiculous at ignoring pain, and this happens constantly without any explanation by Kishimoto, to the point people reading the manga would get into heated arguments at how much plot armor this blonde twink has. anyway, I've seen fics explaining this as Deidara being specifically trained by Iwagakure to endure absurd amounts of pain. and you know what, I like this headcanon, gives characterisation for both Iwa methods and Deidara's childhood, we love it. of course, generally such ability is an asset, but in this particular case I really cranked it up to 11 to make Deidara regret having it
- ah, yeah, before I forget, the "Third Tsuchikage's greatest shame" thing - so fun fact, it's actually canon that Deidara is Onoki's student. the reason why this isn't a well-known fact and actually oftentimes is assumed to be headcanon is because for some god knows reason this bit of info was only in the editor's note at the beginning of that short battle between the Iwa gang and Kabuto with Edo Deidara, and these editor notes at the beginning of the chapters a) official English translation never does this notes b) these notes are removed in the Japanese volume version, so it's only in the weekly magazine version of the chapter and you pretty much can only find it on the fantranslations of the chapter at the time (because obviously they didn't have the volume version in that moment)
- one of the main ideas I had for this fic even when it was in its conceptual stages was to ensure that the twist with Obito continuing the messed-up cycle of ripping out kids from beneath a cave-in and forcing them to continue living through artificial celss of questionable origin wouldn't be too obvious. so about 70% of the fic is dedicated to Deidara being in agony and trying to find some meaning in what he assumes to be his final moments - and all of that is done to take away reader's attention from HOW Obito sees the situation (his own actual fear of being crushed alive randomly rearing its ugly head, his senpai and by that point love interest protecting him at the cost of his safety, the similarities between his own accident and what is going on now - finding Deidara dying under the rocks and caring more about him than himself, Deidara asking him to take something of his, etc etc) and how his mind jumps to the conclusion that he found the most desirable for Deidara - alive, by his side, literally just like him. even if it's against Deidara's will lmao. it was pretty fun writing whump for the first time and I'm pretty proud how it all came out.
- and yes pre cave-in both of them were kind of crushing on each other. Deidara truly liked Tobi! in the end, it's one of the many tragedies within this fic - Deidara could have actually been with him romantically, but the decision to save Tobi in the moment and Obito's subsequent... everything made it impossible. Deidara liked his silly kohai Tobi. Deidara is terrified of Akatsuki's leader and his Savior, Obito, and what he had and would do to him. ironically enough, this one act of love made him lose both everything outside his love for Tobi and his love for him too. he survived and yet lost everything, but it's of no consequence for Obito, because in his mind Deidara should be happy, just as he is
- "but now frailer than a glass figurine which he accidentally knocked off the shelf as a kid back in Tsuchikage's residence" - still stand by my headcanon that Deidara is the adopted kid in Tsuchikage's family lmao
- "He was supposed to turn into his greatest, most amazing creation. Everyone would be gazing at him in his final fiery moments. In a matter of seconds, his existence would become nothingness, a transformation so wonderful that Deidara would start to shake from the thrill of it whenever he would think of his own end." - I think Deidara suffers from suicidal thoughts and spends a lot of time idolizing the way he would take his life, meaning C0, fantasising about the way it would feel etc etc. It's kind of a combination of his own ideology that's pretty much "good things aren't supposed to last long", his own unhealthy obsession with being recognized as someone amazing and capable by literally anyone he comes across and generally the trauma he has from Iwagakure (again, they TRAINED the kid to endure pain to the point he shrugs off torn off arms, this at least implies some sort of torture on a literal child)
- "He remembers his hunting lessons and how the scared wide-eyed deer sounded in their last moments." - so this is something that I have planned for BSSM AU too, but Deidara also had training in hunting, because from what little we know about Land of Earth, the terrain is really fucking rough, so I wouldn't be surprised if they put a lot of emphasis on survival training + Deidara ran away from the village and spent at least a year on the run completely alone (hi Itachi who already had a spot prepaired in Akatsuki), and I have some doubts that he would be earning S-rank nukenin pay off the go, likely he had to come by with whatever he could catch + he's been partnered with Sasori who doesn't care for human urges, thus if they had to stay the night somewhere in the wild, it would literally be just up to him to find some food for himself
- another thing I think Deidara loves the most is flying and the skies, particularly how free it all makes him feel. the sky actually relates to two things in this fic - Deidara's identity and choice (the last third of the fic the sky is gone as he is in a cave, so Deidara's identity and him being able to choose his fate are also taken away from him) and Deidara's Akatsuki ring (ironically, "Blue" which is the same as the color of the sky)
- now regarding what is going on with Obito - the initial explosion that caused the rockfall that pretty much killed Deidara sent him flying forward, so he was indeed not hurt. it doesn't mean that after landing some distance away from Deidara he was mentally well. he was already pretty badly heaving just from being reminded of his own cave-in, so sometime he was just there, trying to calm down and stand up (preferably not throwing up in the process). after a while he does manage to pick himself up and goes off to look for Deidara, realizing that he doesn't see him anywhere nearby, trying to fight off the panic. at this point he's just barely hanging onto Tobi persona, it's kind of his safety net in this whole situation. unfortunately, he discovers what he discovers
- btw even if Tobi's persona is somewhat up, he's constantly messing up the way he should be adressing him. I made a point to have Obito adress him as "senpai" (okay for Tobi) or "Deidara" (not okay for Tobi)
- "The sky is still a large beautiful blue sheet as he recalls it to look. But now something bright appears in his vision. He could have mistaken it for sun, so bright and orange above him" - Deidara loves the sky, but something bright and sun-like covers it here. later Obito's Sharingan will also become the sun that "destroys" Deidara and knocks him out
you can see why Obito starts to freak out :) but I love how stupid the name Tobi is. It literally is just drop the first kana from Obito's name and change the order for the remaning two. seriously, how is this man supposed to be the secretive mastermind if that's the best he can come up for his goofysona name?
- in this particular paragraph I did somethin very mean. if you don't see it, look at the last three syllables in Deidara's phrase and see a certain name.

- "Senpai, come on, we'll get you out of here, we'll think of something, you'll be fine too, we just have to find someone..." - back to what's going on in Obito's mind - he's still trying to keep up the mask of Tobi who can't do anything to save Deidara in this situation (unlike Obito, but Deidara can't know that Obito exist, it's too dangerous for the plan), thus throught the fic he keeps repeating that he's gonna find someone to help senpai and it goes on until he can not reject the reality anymore and has to make the decision to follow Deidara's will or to save him at all cost
- "Maybe Tobi is punching at the earth beneath them, digging his gloves deep into the cold brown mass, or maybe he is grabbing at his head, pressing his palms into it while he continues mumbling something completely anguished and incomprehensible, something about this not supposed to be happening, or wailing as he asked again and again why Deidara did this, he didn't need to, he can't be hurt, he can't be dying, Tobi didn't want this, Tobi didn't mean for this to happen, not again, not again, not again, not again..." - yeah, so that's pretty much Obito having a breakdown from everything above - both his memories of Kannabi and the circumstances of their current situation
- "Deidara remembers with strange clarity how he dreamed of something like this when he was just a little boy, forced to stay in the village as the war raged on beyond its walls and his only window to freedom was just the bright skies above" - another piece of random trivia, but based on the calcs from my timeline, Deidara would have been born in Iwagakure in year 61 after Konoha's foundation, while the Third Shinobi World War was from year 58 to year 63. He would've been kind of way too young to remember the war itself, but I can't imagine that in the following years kids would have been allowed to leave the village in any capacity + the conflicts might have been ongoing, just in much lower intensity
- "Tobi's voice sounds strange - both raspy and high, both over the top and endlessly tired - but that's probably Deidara's hearing starting to fail." - and here's Obito starts to lose his ability to keep up Tobi's persona
- "But now, when Deidara feels like his body is merging into one with the earth beneath him (oh, the preachers in Iwagakure would be elated at his thoughts)" - that's another headcanon I have, but now in regards to general religion in Naruto World. It's kind of annoying how we've got all of these Great nations so and so forth yet they seem so similar. anyway, time to fix this, so obviously people from Land of Earth place a lot of value on earth and such. I like to believe that it's actually a tradition for them to bury their dead (unlike Konoha where it's pretty much confirmed to be cremation), so yeah, Deidara kind of points that out, with him dying and feeling like he's becoming one with earth
I believe that mercy killing would, in fact, be quite commonplace in Naruto world, either because it's impossible to get your comrade to safety, their wounds are too severe, the mission will be jeopardized, and so on and so forth. What Deidara asks of Tobi is pretty normal and what he truly think would be the best for him - to stop suffering in shame like this, to be able to finally rest, withouth much pain.
- so this here is pretty much the turning point for Obito

Unfortunately for him, he is dealing with Obito who vehementely hates this world and its ways. Would Obito still choose to activate his Sharingan and turn Deidara into another half-human half-something creature like him, binding them together, if Deidara didn't ask for a mercy murder from Tobi? Probably yes, but Deidara could have passed out by that point, making it much harder for any future machinations on his dying body, so Deidara would have had the chance to save himself as a person and die if not for that one plea. In the end this acts like a trigger in Obito's mind and cements his decision to save Deidara at any cost, because he will not allow this world to take away his love from him again, he will not play by its rules
- "An unfamiliar voice cuts through the ringing in his ears. It's deep, dark and raspy." - and from that point onwards it's just Obito with his Sharingan on, asking Deidara to look into his eye to make sure he is unconscious for what is going to follow
- now onto what I imagine actually took place after Deidara was placed in a genjutsu (which pretty much put him into a coma-like state to ensure that the shock from Obito's machinations wouldn't kill him): Obito didn't have any of the Zetsus nearby to use as the material, so, while sitting and thinking when Deidata was still awake, he realized that his only choice is to use his own body, particularly the artificial part. that was both the quickest way to go, but also possibly would be the least painful if Obito's experience with purely artificial cells was to go by. "humanized" cells in theory would be much more compatible with Deidara's body, so that would be a win win. however, he also had another issue - Deidara's wounds didn't match his, so he couldn't instantly produce organs and parts that would fit Deidara, in the end he decided to simply create as much cells as he can and attach them to Deidara, at least while he'll be transporting him to his own nearest hideout + due to how much larger he is, it would probably be better for Deidara's body to recreate the missing parts on its own, simply shaping Obito's cells into the necessary form (kind of like clay, which would probably be insanely romantic in Obito's mind). after knocking Deidara out, he immediately took off his clothes and pulled out a sword from Kamui that would fit the task. he caressed Deidara's still wet cheeks with his left hand, promising him that it's all going to be okay soon, while his right half was rapidly expanding and his hand was meticulously cutting off Deidara's elbows and torso, attaching his own grown tissues onto the wounds he was making. finally, after it was all done, with Deidara attached to him, he teleported them into the hideout
before Deidara woke up, Obito's been holed up in there for about four weeks, completely ignoring anything Akatsuki-related and pretty much attacking Zetsus when they tried to get closer than they should have. Obito doesn't need food or water, so every single day he's spent by Deidara's side, waiting for him to wake up. the first few days Deidara was still attached to him, and Obito didn't want to separate from him (it became quite comforting to have Deidara attached like that, like he's completely safe and isn't going to ever leave him), but in the end Obito decided that Deidara's body needed to heal on its own (he can't be too selfish, now that Deidara will become a Savior like him, the world of dreams would need him away from Obito, no matter how much Obito dislikes that), so following days Obito would just sit by Deidara's side, watching him for hours. something in between monitoring his condition and gorging on his beauty.
as for Deidara, after being separated from Obito everything seemed fine for a while, artificial tissues have sucessfully mended with Deidara's, yet soon things started to go wrong. not in a life-threatening way, at least for someone with such cells, but the actual forming process was taking a while (not that Obito had any good time estimate on that), Deidara started breaking into fevers, having frequent spasms, getting fits, so on and so forth. it was then when Obito discovered that he could still merge with Deidara, even after the separation. he took it as a sign from above that he is doing something right, so whenever Deidara would look even mildly uncomfortable (come later weeks he would do that at any given opportunity) Obito would enter him, connecting his senses to his, thinking that like that he is taking some of Deidara's pain, focusing on thoughts of pain being gone. Deidara would usually calm down after this, so he must have liked that a lot, right?
during one of such fits Obito discovered that Deidara's eyes looked strange now, like there are some darker patterns appearing in them, and realized that his own cells were keeping some of his DNA intact, affecting Deidara. another sign for Obito that he was doing something right, that the two of them were meant become one on their ultimate goal. he's found his partner, the one with whom they'll put an end to this world together. now besides simply watching Deidara, he also started doing experements on his various tissues, testing them and being amazed at how much stronger they were already becoming.
and now we come to Deidara's awakening
- and yep after having to go through something like that Obito takes a while to get to his "I'm in hell" moment. Deidara is thrust into it immediately, but in the end both of their experiences are the same
- Obito was in the room when Deidara woke up, but he was simply watching him in wonder, elated at finally being able to see his senpai return to him. he's still in that overly excited state when Deidara starts to panic
- whenever Deidara shows fear or just something related to not wanting to be here, with him, Obito simply writes off it as confusion after being asleep for so long. when he can't do that, he starts using his favorite excuse of "Deidara is still brainwashed by that horrible world, but it's okay, I know he doesn't mean any of that, he likes me and he wants these things"
- it's not the point of the fic, but it's sprinkled here and there: Obito is very much sexually aroused in this scene. he wanted Deidara even before that, but now, when it's just the two of them, and Deidara is going to be his forever partner on this mission, he's barely restraining himself, telling himself that it's too early and Deidara is far too weak for something like that (not to mention lacking most of the necessary parts for the process). unfortunately for Deidara, it's pretty much a free game after his full recovery. and once again, Obito finds an excuse for any of his bullshit, while Deidara can't fight back against what Obito wants if they are merged, so... well, you can guess that besides the general psychological abuse Deidara will end up experiencing sexual abuse too, with Obito sincerily believing everything to be consensual.
aaaand that's about it? a tragedy all around. Very little remains of Deidara, both physically and mentally. As the time passes by, he loses most of his aspirations, except trying to make attempts at his life. Obito, continuing to believe this to be the effect of this cruel world, frequently makes Deidara merge with him, puts him in a genjutsu and shows him their ideal world that would be here soon, "reminds" him of how much they love each other, and for a time it helps, with Deidara becoming quiter and dazed for some time. But in the end the cycle repeats, and Obito is still pushing onwards, forcing himself to believe that he's pretty happy like that, with Deidara remaining by his side, and he can reach his real happiness in the eternal Tsukuyomi, it's just this hell getting in the way.
Both of them become more and more miserable with each passing day.

I'M DOING MY BEST WITH ALL THE REQUESTS, SORRY FOR TAKING SO LONG OMG😭😭😭😭💕
NSFW prompts!
(this one turned out so cute, i truly love it, here to worship soft madara for life)
Candlelight illuminates the outline of his body just enough, a gloomy atmosphere surrounded by the intensity of the night. Madara takes a puff of his kiseru, holding the smoke and releasing it after a few seconds. The yukata he wears looks like trying to escape from his body, slightly held by the cord that ties it around his waist and leaving all the expansion of his chest uncovered.
Divine laws oblige them to consummate the marriage they were forced to perform, but neither seems interested in forcing the other to have sex just because the gods demand it. The night that should have been filled with passion was replaced by pleasant talks, getting to know each other, preferring words over intimate touches.
Leaning against the back of the bed, one hand behind his head and the other occupied with his vice, he gazes into nothingness, eyes busy with thoughts and memories (Y/N) assumes must plague his mind.
The woman lies on his skin, using his chest as a pillow and running her fingertips along the expanse of his body. Within two seconds of starting she stumbles upon a scar near his neck, admiring it and stunned by the length and time it seems to have been in his flesh. "That was Hashirama, funny enough. Our first serious confrontation under the watchful eye of our parents."
The Uchiha lets out some smoke, instinctively following his wife's touch on his skin, staring into nothingness and thinking of the memories her fingers evoke with each area they traverse. (Y/N) doesn't take long to notice another mark, 3 large lines on his stomach also denoting age, "Tobirama's summoning, massive snow leopard. It was about to eat Izuna, had to do something."
He laughs at that memory, and (Y/N) takes the initiative from his laughter to sit on the bed and open his yukata even wider, paying genuine attention to the man's torso. One would think she should be more cautious in front of a guy she was forced to marry, but the two built a friendly bond before even admiring each other in a loving, insinuating way, gaining confidence in each other as each day went by.
Jokes and funny gestures became part of their routine, genuinely falling in love despite the marriage alliance forcing them to be together.
Madara looks at her suggestively as he takes another puff of smoke, and uses his kiseru to point to a scar on her right shoulder. "Learning to use kunai, father was unforgiving." The woman recounts with her own smile, her childhood coming in waves through her mind.
Before getting emotional, she turns her attention to a gigantic mark on top of his heart, the largest scar on his chest, the one she never had the courage to ask what it was due to, who caused it. The woman always assumed that it must have been his major war wound, an attack that left him almost on the verge of losing his life, as it occupies most of his right breastplate.
She has seen him changing clothes on several occasions, getting out of the shower, opportunities to appreciate the scar in all its enormous splendor. Whoever inflicted it was probably trying to kill him with all their might.
She never dared to ask why was there, afraid to evoke complicated memories, but this seemed like the perfect opportunity, "Where did this come from?" intones coyly, avoiding eye contact and fixing her eyes on the scar.
"Actually, Izuna." The Uchiha laughs again, but this time it's such a loud fit of laughter he literally cries out of joy, traveling back to the exact moment of the event, "little fucker was testing a new technique, an "amazing wonderful spectacular jutsu that will destroy that idiot Tobirama in one hit!" he called it." He wipes his eyes, trying to compose himself to speak, but little chuckles escape him as he relates what happened, "turns out it was indeed good, good enough to almost kill me in the attempt, I let my guard down because I didn't believe it would work, proved I couldn't underestimate him."
His face lights up when he talks about his brother, and (Y/N) can't help but be tempted to laugh along with him even though he's narrating a near-death experience. "What's up with this?" the man takes advantage of the distraction to point out a dark mark on her leg, prominent and perfectly circular. "A… clan initiation rites, we all get branded when we turn five. Kinship and stuff, you know."
"What's your worst scar, (Y/N)?" Madara asks, turning his attention back to his vice and filling his lungs with smoke, looking at her with soft eyes and tenderly stroking her exposed skin. The way he looks at her makes (Y/N) feel like the most beautiful woman in the world, and the love he has for her is palpable in his smile.
"I'd say this one?" she turns around to show him her back, lowering her yukata down to her waist and revealing skin affected by a long, dark gash. She can hear the Uchiha hiss at the image, and it fills her with pride to have one of the strongest warriors in history recognize her battle scars as well. "That must have hurt, yes?" He comments as the smoke pours out of his mouth.
"Yeah, it was kind of traumatic... I was little, my first war engagement, everyone thought I'd die yet here I am..." She feels two large arms grab her from behind, wrapping her in a deep, loving embrace. Madara rests his head on her shoulder, placing his lips on her cheek and moving down to her neck with innocent little kisses, "You're the strongest woman I know, you know that?"
"Could we say you won the lottery?"
"You wish."

Another night without sleep. Boruto had lost count. He did not want to, he should not sleep. If he ever fell asleep, Momoshiki would take control of his body and he could harm everyone he loved. His family, his friends, the villagers.
By some miracle, he had managed to regain control each time. But if he could not, everything would be over and he would kill everyone. He must not fall asleep, he told himself over and over again. He had to stay awake until he found the solution to prevent Momoshiki from reappearing. So he tried to find ways not to sleep. He watched movies, TV series or played video games all night long.
His phone rang and Boruto smiled. He did not need to look at who was calling him, he knew it was Sarada. Since she found out he was not sleeping, she called him every evening. To talk to him, to reassure him, to tell him that he was not alone and that he could lean on his friends if Momoshiki reappeared. Or she would simply call him to tell him something funny that had happened to her.
Their conversations, which were short at first, could now last several hours. Usually, until Sarada fell asleep on the other end of the line. Every evening Boruto waited impatiently for her call. She was like a light at the end of these long hours without sleep.
“Hi,” he said, picking up.
“Hi.”
Several times he had told her that she did not have to call him, that she could only send him text messages. But each time she refused.
“I feel more reassured when I hear your voice.”
When she told him this, Boruto had blushed. He still blushed thinking about that sentence. Sarada told him how her day had gone and about her training with Sasuke who had taught her a new jutsu and how to use her Sharingan. Boruto could not help smiling. He could hear how much she enjoyed her day and even though she did not talk about it, he knew she was happy to spend time with her father. He could also hear that she was throwing kunai at the target hung on the wall of her bedroom. They spoke for an hour, two hours. Boruto heard the tiredness in Sarada's voice.
“You should go to sleep,” he said.
“I’m fine. I am not tired.”
She yawned and Boruto laughed lightly. He knew there was no point in insisting. Sarada was too stubborn to hang up. They continued talking a little longer, until she finally fell asleep on the other end of the phone. There was something comforting about the sound of her steady breathing. He felt like he was not alone. Thanks to Sarada, his sleepless nights were less difficult. During the time he was on the phone with her, he forgot about Momoshiki.
He told himself he was going to wait a bit before hanging up. He wanted to enjoy the quiet he felt after talking to Sarada.

Kakashi wasn’t sure how they ended up in this situation, but they did. A small group of men had approached them asking for directions. On alert, team 7 proceeded the conversation with caution yet one of them had managed to steal a wallet from Naruto. So they initiated a confrontation only for the fuckers to run away. They thankfully had managed to catch up to them and surround them but they weren’t going down without a fight. To make things even worse though, due to Kakashi’s orders, they would only use taijutsu to not raise suspicion of them being ninjas.
“This is a piece of cake, it’s a fair fight, 4 v 4!” Naruto shouted as he rushed the man who stole his precious frog wallet.
“Hn. We wouldn’t have to be fighting if you were just careful for once.” Sasuke argued as he ran toward his opponent. Amid the chaos, Sakura’s target dodged a kick and made a run for Daiki, knife in hand. Paralyzed in fear, Daiki could only stare at the approaching male. Shit, he thought as the knife neared his chest. Eyes squeezing shut, rapid footsteps made their way towards him when suddenly a thud was heard. Sakura had gotten in between Daiki and the man and deflected his knife with her kunai. Not allowing for response time she had rotated her body to land a kick to the side of his head sending him a few feet away. The man let out a loud grunt as his limp body fell to the ground- he was unconscious.
“Is Daiki okay, Sakura?” Kakshai called as he tied the men up. The fight had come to an end with Naruto regaining possession of his prized possession- the frog wallet.
“Are you okay?” Sakura asked, eyes widened Daiki stared at her in shock. He slowly nodded. “Good." Sakura smiled at him and stood to face Kakashi. "He’s fine, sensei!”
“Thank you Sakura-chan, I’m so sorry for the trouble!” Daiki tenderly grasped her calloused hand bringing it towards him. Sasuke scoffed. “Once we get to my village I promise to pay you back for what you’ve done, I’ll pay all of you back!” Quickly rising to his feet, he gave them a deep bow.
“No need Daiki.” Kakashi stood next to the boy, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder, “It’s our job.”
“Tch.” Sasuke crossed his arms, a scowl now on his face. “Let’s go, Naruto held us up enough.” He turned around to resume their journey.
“It wasn’t my fault they stole my wallet!” Naruto raced behind him to continue the argument. Kakashi sighed and pushed the prince and Sakura to follow the two boys, leaving himself to trail behind.

Team Seven traversed the new terrain. Dirt paths lined with towering trees with occasional clear patches that bled into small fields of flowers; it was irregular but a signifier that they were nearing the flower village. They made idle conversation along the way.
Watching the teens converse ahead gave Kakashi time to observe them. The tension in his team had started to wear off at the motel, and at this point, it was almost completely gone. Even so, the distaste Naruto and Sasuke had for one another was alive and well yet they had managed to subdue it so far. Sakura had also become less rigid- now enthusiastically talking to the boys about her life or sharing random information she had learned while reading and even entertaining the random shit Naruto would say. They all seemed comfortable.
“I’ve also been talking to Hinata-”
“Hinata?” Naruto cut Sakura off almost too excitedly.
“Yeah!” Sakura smirked as she saw a small blush making its way onto Naruto's sunkissed skin. “What, do you like her or something?” she nudged his shoulder with her own.
“Of course I do, she’s super nice and cool.” Naruto shrugged, his blush darkening.
“That’s not what she meant,” Sasuke added, a mischievous glint in his eyes as he made eye contact with Sakura, a silent agreement to mess with Naruto forming. Naruto looked at them with confusion written all over his face. “Do you think she’s pretty?” Sasuke inquired, a subtle teasing tone present.
Taken aback, Naruto stopped walking. His face felt hot and he wasn’t sure why. “Wha- Sasuke! Do you?” Sasuke simply shrugged, he didn’t have an opinion of her looks; she'd never crossed his mind. “Ha- you do!” Once again Sasuke shrugged, not a fan of being on the receiving end of these questions. Sakura shifted uncomfortably.
Of course, Sasuke would find Hinata pretty, anyone would. She had such long, pretty hair with an inviting and caring aura to her. Hell, she was the heiress to the Hyuga clan, she was powerful with natural beauty and a kind demeanor. Nobody could ever say anything negative about her. Sakura couldn’t think of a better match for Sasuke than Hinata- the pretty and powerful princess of the Hyugas. She was the epitome of the girl Cupid would pair with Sasuke. Sakura could never compete with her, Hinata was everything she wasn't. Tears started to well in her eyes at the thought.
“I think Sakura’s pretty.” Daiki blurted out. He had noticed Sakura’s change of demeanor and had assumed it was due to her insecurities- an assumption he made after hearing Ino’s words. The forest seemed to come to a pause at Daiki's words. Shock evident in everyone. Naruto nodded in agreement, glad the attention was now off of him. Sakura brought her head up, wiping the pooling tears from her eyes and smiling at him.
“Thank you.” Her voice was just above a whisper. Daiki blushed as his words settled in, the moment feeling oddly intimate to him. Quickly his eyes darted away from her and locked gazes with Sasuke who bore an unimpressed look.
Sasuke wasn’t sure why, but this bit of information bothered him. Knowing that people found Sakura attractive felt wrong. Of course, he’d known about Naruto’s crush on her- everyone did- but that had faded over time, a momentary thing. But seeing some random guy calling her pretty and wielding the ability to make her smile and blush rubbed him the wrong way. Another guy had her attention… he clenched his fist at the idea. Sasuke didn’t understand what he was feeling and he didn’t like the implications of these newly found emotions. Diverting his train of thoughts he circled back to the task at hand- the mission. “If we keep moving, we’ll be there before sundown.” He spoke. Everyone nodded, except Daiki.
“Actually…” the Prince nervously played with his hands, “I was hoping to spend a night out in the woods. I’ve never done it before, and well… this seems like the perfect situation as I’m with you guys.” finished Daiki, making momentary eye contact with all of them as he spoke. Kakashi simply nodded, indicating that he was okay with it. And so, Team 7 scouted the area for a suitable place to make camp- Daiki following behind Sakura like a lost puppy much to Sauke’s dismay.
