I may have gotten myself into a pickle with print prospects and deadlines. Society6 seems to have eaten all of my old files in the snafu of the last few years and I will need to write to support to see if they can be recovered. In the meantime, I’m waiting to be accepted at inprnt. The additional worry is if the print quality with s6 has declined in this time. I would hate to have subpar prints floating out into the world.

idk if you’ve talked about this already but i’m really curious about your experience with getting your top surgery book printed? as an artist you’re doing stuff that’s very similar to what i want to do someday

yes! so the manufacturer that i work with for my books (both signals and oh huh) is mixam! their quality is great, and the prices are pretty fair for the quality you get. for the most part shorter books, smaller books (dimension wise), and black and white books all end up being cheaper, if that's a concern for you. you can get a free sample pack that has the different paper finishes in there :) definitely recommend them, they've been great!

and then logistically, you'll wanna do a preorder run so that way you can order all the books at once (which is waaaay cheaper), and factor that per book cost (along with shipping materials and that sort of thing) into the price of the book! i ordered a couple copies now just to make sure than when i do that bigger print run, they'll all turn out well (instead of not realizing the margins were wrong or something, and ending up with a bunch of bad books)
