Tumblr media
Funfetti and I went to Milwaukee Pride Fest 2024 yesterday! It was a long drive and very overstimulating, but I think we had fun! There were furries, drag queens, and so so many nice people there!
Tumblr media
I didn't care much to rep my asexuality but I am a great ally fr and loved seeing the diversity of the LGBTQ+ community!

(More custom furbies coming soon promise)

I wore my OFMD shirt again to the Salem pride festival and one woman at a booth pointed at me, said "excuse me!", and pointed down at a handful of free stickers they were giving away and several of them were OFMD themed! I chose this one.

Hi everyone! Triggering topic but Pride Month is coming soon amid increasingly violent rhetoric around our community.
If you plan on going to any Pride events next month NOW is the time to order/buy supplies and put together an IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit).
You'll want a CAT tourniquet or two, clotting factor impregnated gauze (NOT clotting powder!), z folded gauze, and a couple vented chest seals. Maybe a pair of nurse's shears too, they're very cheap.
You want to purchase these things from North American Rescue. At least the tourniquets. Cheap alternative tourniquets have a high failure rate. Improvised tourniquets almost always fail. You want a CAT from North American Rescue so when it happens, where it happens, you have the best possible chance of your friend not bleeding out in your arms.
You'll want to take a Stop The Bleed class. You can do this online if none are available in person.
I'm a certified EMT and Stop The Bleed instructor. People do not survive hemorrhages long enough for people like me to get on scene, and police often prevent first responders from entering scenes. You are the only one coming to save your friends. You need to be ready to do that. Once the attacker is down - and it won't be the police who stop him - you need to act or if you can't you need to yell "I have an IFAK in my bag" so someone else can.
Another attack will come. It's only a matter of where and when. Buy the things, put them in a little pouch, and keep them with you at these events.
I don't care if you call me a hysterical doomer. Just get an IFAK and please bring it with you to Pride. Take a Stop The Bleed class. Please.

"We know that we can’t count on the police to protect us, given their documented sympathies and outright coordination with the far-Right, not to mention their history of brutality towards queer and trans people. This Pride month, we must come together like never before in defense of queer communities and push back against the escalating threat posed by the far-Right. When we come together, organize, and stand up fearlessly, we can keep ourselves safe – and win.
Yes, these are scary times. But remember those that came before us who fought for liberation. Because of them, we are coming from a place of power; popular opinion is on our side. So it’s our turn to stand up and defend queer life, and keep fighting for those who come after us. Of course there are risks. But by becoming informed, prepared, and building community, we can mitigate those dangers and build a better world."

I'm actually being responsible and getting shit made in advance of Pride festival season this year; these guys will eventually be ultra lightweight earrings! (Seriously, they weigh almost nothing and are SO easy to wear for long periods of time)
I've done the pride flags I'm familiar with off the top of my head, but I KNOW there's a ton I don't know. If anybody wants to see specific flags, feel free to let me know!

Relevant news article in English
Anyway today in Korea the Daegu mayor tried to stop an LGBT+ festival from happening by bringing in a bunch of civil servants to stop festival vehicles.
The police force had to intervene to let the gays go their way.
Priorly, the mayor complained that the festival was "illegal" to which the police department said “No???? It’s a legal assembly?????” and then he proceeded to complain on his Facebook about the ‘qUeEr fRiEnDLy PoLiCe TrYiNg To lEcTuRe Me’.
(Disclaimer:
I'm not a news account; read up on the link for more detailed info.
Also I'm NOT saying our police is all that great; there have been recent accounts of police violence against workers on strike and whatnot. I just find it ridiculous that the police had to step in to keep a very legal assembly from being dismantled.)

Tbh kids being at pride aren't even the biggest reason why kink doesn't belong at pride. There are plenty of 18+ prides that aren't kid friendly and still shouldn't have kinks.
Kink doesn't belong in pride because the people that attend haven't consented to seeing your sexual display.
Kink is sexual and requires consent from those participating and those viewing. So unless it is a kink orientated pride, it does not belong in the average pride fest.
