1 When I call, answer me, O God of my integrity! Deliver me from my distress! Have mercy on me and hear my prayer. 2 O men, how long will you try to destroy my dignity? How long will you assault me with lust and continue to live a lie? 3 Know that God protects Her daughters! She hears when I call out for help! 4 Stop sinning, and repent with fear and trembling. Possible uses of this psalm:

Alleviate insomnia (read along with a short prayer before bed)

Justice in court cases (read psalm several times by a blue candle and John the Conqueror Incense the night before a court appearance)

Restful and peaceful sleep

Change luck from bad to good

Prayer of praise and gratitude (v6-7)

Prayer for protection (v3,8)

Request blessings (v6-7)

Basically every person that joined the Kingdom of Fools did so because it put them in proximity to power rather than any shared ideological reasons. Foolish wanted to be King, Owen and Clown both wanted to manipulate Foolish to their own ends, Sneeg literally just joined the first faction to offer him a material good he demanded. With the exception of Ros, everyone in the Kingdom viewed their faction in an utterly pragmatic manner. A means to an end. None of them are there because they believe in a specific cause, and this worked as a strength for them, it's what made them appear as such a united front compared to other factions. It's literally the principle that unions are built on, power in numbers. You might not like the guy that's harassing that Red faction member, but he's part of your union so you defend him. If you don't defend him, then who is to say there will be anyone there to defend you when you're in trouble?

Compare that to the Teal Titans who are constantly squabbling with each other because they disagree about what neutrality looks like, or because they aren't happy when someone takes the reigns and decides they have to take a hard stance. The Hostiles who have to kill to survive, but most of them aren't willing to be the one to get their hands dirty to do it. Even the Honey Badgers who had a rocky start with Bad refusing to trust Pangi and Hannah with gathering their quest items several weeks in a row.

But the thing is that now Ros, the heart of the Kingdom, has been driven away. And the rest of the faction, they have their union, but their loyalties don't lie in that union. It lies with people. It lies with Ros. Maybe you put up with the guy picking fights outside your faction because you know your strength lies in your numbers, but what do you do when the only person you actually care about protecting leaves? What reason do two of the most powerful people on the server have to stay with the Kingdom when they've outgrown what the Kingdom can offer them?

And what the hell will everyone else do if they decide to leave too?

Is it just me or does the way Hera is portrayed in the PJO/HOO series feel out of touch? By that I mean, while it plays into the idea of Hera's relationship with her husband's children and ideals of family, it seems like Rick just took that and ran with it without actually wanting to dive into those aspects and develop them more (ngl, his writing for his female characters, especially the goddesses, could use some work even if I do enjoy them). The reason Hera is the way she is with her husband's children is because she can't punish him [Zeus] directly due to him being more powerful (and the last time she turned against didn't he literally hang her from the sky)? And even while I'm not justifying her actions, there's a method to them, so why would she go after other random demigods like Percy and Annabeth? Or at least in a way that was written better than her falling into a trope (I enjoy this series with my heart, but the criticism about how the gods are written holds some value that shouldn't just be ignored either). Like, I don't know, it just feels like there was more that could've been done with her character instead of just immediately writing her off as the cruel, cold-hearted, evil stepmother (a trope that's overplayed, especially when not even bothering to give them any depth). I could write ideas, but then we'd be here all day.

hey. I live in a space that is being heavily raided by immigration enforcement (ICE). some of you may recall that I am a teacher. previous policies made churches and schools safe zones for undocumented people. the evil of this current government has gotten rid of that policy, and ICE is threatening schools.

this isn’t a call to action. I’m not asking for money. I’m not even on tumblr super often anymore. I’m just crying and there are so many on here that I love, so if y’all want to send good vibes or prayers or good thoughts the way of my children please do.
