!! Artistic , Non-sexual Nudity !!
⸙gift for Lady Artemis ⸙
A devotional drawing for Lady Artemis , referencing a painting titled " Diana " by Jules Joseph Lefebvre .
Finally managed to draw something I'm actually really happy with for my Lady Artemis. I wasn't really happy with the old one I posted on here quite a while ago anymore , I really do hope she likes it too . I felt so content working on this and I loved drawing her , I really hope I managed to get the feeling of freedom I feel whenever I think of her across <33
The beautiful painting I was referencing for the posing and overall composition was definitely a good choice as the simple background didn't intimidate me for once and actually encouraged me to add more to it , like the cypress trees , the grass and the deer fur the goddess is leaning on .
I hope you guys like it too of course !!
( divider made by me <3 )

🌙 Subtle Artemis Worship 🦌
Spend time out in nature (e.g. go on a hike, take a walk outside, visit a nature preserve, etc.)
Dancing, especially at night and to music that makes you feel wild and free
Playing an instrument (although this is more for Apollo, I believe it also works as a form of Artemis worship)
Wearing jewelry that reminds you of her
Having imagery of deer, horses, or dogs around
Having literally any sort of animal symbolism around (she is a Goddess of Animals)
Investing in nature/animal conservation efforts (can simply be spreading the word if you can't afford to donate or volunteer)
Creating art of your favorite flower, plant, or animal
Keeping a picture of her in your wallet
Taking a walk outside during the crescent or full moon (only if it is safe in your area to do so)
Learning about self-defense (I feel dedicating a pocket knife, if legal, to her is a great idea)
Learning archery
Befriending neighborhood animals, such as cats, birds, or dogs; leaving food out for them
Lighting a bonfire with friends and having a good time together; dancing around it is especially great (please be safe about doing so; I don't recommend drinking first)
Star-gazing and moon-gazing
Showing compassion to others, such as through volunteer work or holding doors
Taking a warm bath at night
Having a candle that reminds you of her (no altar needed)
Wearing animal-inspired outfits or doing animal-inspired makeup
Visiting a local zoo, aquarium, or butterfly pavilion; taking the time to learn about new creatures
Watching nature documentaries or movies about animals (it can be movies/shows starring anthropomorphic animals)
Being curious about local fauna and flora
Learning how to safely forage for food, such as picking berries or mushrooms
Meditating in the dark of the night, especially on a crescent or full moon
Making a list of your goals; focus on completing these one step at a time
Taking new risks, especially ones that give you a sense of thrill and excitement
Sending kind messages to loved ones, especially those having a difficult time
Learning to prioritize your own well-being; taking care of yourself first and foremost
-
May add to this later! For now, this is my list of discreet ways to worship Artemis. I hope someone finds it helpful. Take care, everyone! 💚

Went to the Vatican on vacation and the museum is filled with statues, so of course, I took a picture of every ✨Lady Artemis✨ in sight.

One of my favorite things, as an Apollo devotee, is seeing imagery referencing Apollo and Artemis's birth and Leto, their mom.
I took the first image when I went to that museum. It felt sooo surreal. I added the second picture because it's so pretty, (found on Pinterest)

This is my very polite and formal invitation for Apollo and Artemis followers to remember who Helios and Selene are. If you're syncretizing that's all fine and dandy but recognize that you're syncretizing! Question your view of the mythology of your religion! Greek mythology varied by region and time, there is no one "definitive" story or version... so of course the interpretation of the "sun god" or "god associated with the sun/light" or "moon goddess" or "goddess associated with the moon" can become blurry and conflated, but like... you think you just feel out of a coconut tree? you exist in the context of all in which you live and what came before you. /ref /hj
Helios and Selene are Titans. As far as I'm concerned, they deserve respect. If you're making choices to view Apollo and Artemis as sun and moon gods, I just want to make sure you know that choice is deliberate and there are other (in my opinion cooler - points to Helios and Selene) options. But that's just my rant and personal opinion. Religion is personal and individual, but I will say that it does frustrate me to no end sometimes to see new worshippers babble about Apollo Sun and Artemis Moon and when you ask if they know who Helios and Selene are they stare at you blankly. Now let me say one last time before some rabid Apollo and Artemis devotees start barking - the interpretation of the Twins as solar/lunar deities is not incorrect, it was just not a part of the "original" versions of the gods. If you're reading this as a follower of either Apollo or Artemis and you don't know the Titans I'm talking about... my dear friend it's time to do some research once more. Blessings to you all on this nice summer afternoon. I'm gonna go squint at Helios in my yard now.

recently learning to embrace some negative traits (TO A HEALTHY LEVEL OKAY??? IVE BEEN REPRESSING MYSELF IN ORDER TO BECOME "GOOD" AND ITS TIME WE ACCEPT OUR FLAWS SO HERES MINE) through the gods. ps this is academically focused because yes athena: not everyone is good stop idolizing people. they will make mistakes and if they do and if they hurt you dont hesitate to leave, one day youll see them for what they really are and are you willing to devote yourself to someone on the same level as you? no, no one will be. not when that person is sick of you and only hurts you. Ares: be mad, be jealous sometimes you cant get what you want. thats fine. sometimes the bar is too high to reach when your competing against others in a field you dont know anything about and its okay to quit and want what they have, to want to embrace their humanity. but you cant, you arent them. use every single skill you have in your artillery till your score is higher Artemis: its okay to be head in hands sometimes people are stupid, sometimes people ignore others humanity, sometimes people are inconsiderate. its all okay. its okay to be frustrated at others when they have blatant wrong views because you have wrong views too. who will you be if you were perfect? hades: its okay to be exhausted let your shoulders drop, your tired and you dont know why. you dont have to keep focus and aware of every small and little detail, your home and your safe. you werent made to focus all your life you were made to enjoy every lasting second of it, the focused and the confused. let yourself be.

☆] reaching out for a bit of assistance from some more seasoned hellenic pagans !!! u_u;
i've been researching each day and praying to at least one god as i go to sleep in an attempt to find my path of devotion and worship. i think what i've settled on is that i find the most comfort and focus from gods of or related to celestial beings - especially the sun and moon - as well as those with direct ties to nature (plants and animals particularly.)
is this a common/acceptable focus to have, even though it may come with worship to a large handful of gods? for reference as well, i'm extremely new to hellenism and have researching general paganism for months but have only recently settled in about a week or two ago.
☆] gods i've found myself focusing on the most are Apollon, Dionysos, Artemis, Selene, and Helios.
i suppose what i'm looking for are some accounts, advice, and information on the best way to go about this in terms of worship. i can't have a permanent altar at the moment due to family, but i'd love tips or sources for the best way to conduct devotions and prayers.
☆] thanks for reading and granting me your time! may health and happiness be upon you and may your gods guide you well! x

How the Gods Feel to Me/Moments that Remind Me of Them
my own shorter version of some older posts by @.honey-and-ambrosia and @.khthonioi <3
Zeus: Sitting on the balcony during a summer thunderstorm; the air is warm and the rain cold, and its dark outside but you're sheltered and safe
Poseidon: When you're laying in bed after a day of swimming and u can still feel the waves of the water throughout your body
Hekate: Browsing the local crystal shop and finding exactly what you needed
Aphrodite: The excitement of getting ready for a first date; freshly showered, skin soft, hair styled and makeup done
Ares: Being your own scary dog privilege; walking alone at night and not being afraid of your surroundings
Apollo: Sitting on the swings of the local park near sunset, music in your ears and sun on your face, comfortably warm in the summer heat
Artemis: Coming across a wild animal in the city and not scaring it away when you walk by
Dionysus: Giggling hysterically with your friends on a night out, (tipsy,) carefree and happy
Persephone: Peeling a pomegranate and watching the juice drip down your hands and leave a stain
Nyx: Sitting in total darkness at your bedroom window and staring at the moon and stars
#some of these r more detailed than others but most of these deities are new to my practice so i may update this as i get to know Them better#marlowe selenophiliiaa#hellenic deities#hellenistic witch#hellenic polytheism#hellenic pagan#helpol#zeus worship#poseidon worship#hekate worship#aphrodite worship#ares worship#apollo worship#artemis worship#dionysus worship#persephone worship#nyx worship

I'm taking my dog to the vet in an hour and would greatly appreciate it if y'all could pray to Artemis for him (or any deity, tbh). He's 12, and, well, I'm not sure what's going to happen. He's having an issue with his eye (I believe he will need a tooth pulled) but may not be able to go under anesthesia if needed. In that event, I'm genuinely unsure what we'd do for him. So, if y'all could just send a prayer, I'd appreciate it. I will be writing a general pet protection/health prayer for Artemis (that anyone can use) later tonight as well.
