it's another day where she's worked through lunch and she has many regrets as her stomach grumbles in protest. maybe she should have taken a quick two minute break to scarf down a protein bar before getting into that last fight. it's too late now, everything is closed and sadly her fridge is bare because she's also neglected to go grocery shopping. aurora is mid groan of defeat when she hears someone call her name. looking up she spies a bag in their hand and once again hope is renewed. "please tell me there's food in that bag, and that you're here to share it with me." she almost pleads, a hopeful glint in her lavender gaze.

In the past, people in the Animal Crossing community would make fun of Tom Nook as a sleazy landlord. Since then, he's really rehabilitated his image as this 'heart of gold' businessman (he's the one who puts bells and furniture in trees for you to find! he adopted orphans! he donates to charity!), but New Horizons genuinely paints the most devious version of him.

He's successfully privatized settler colonialism: you pay HIM to move to a "deserted island" (which apparently the oceans in the AC world are just full of) and start a colony that he is directly invested in. At best he's running a weird vacation package scam (you arrive on the island with no money and in debt for "using his services"). At worst, he's using you to set up company towns. For god's sake, he literally has his own fake currency that he forces you to use to pay off your debt. But don't worry, he's repackaged it in a way that definitely doesn't sound like an MLM scam: the Nook Mileage Program!

You're no longer just his tenant or his temporary part-timer, you're his business lackey. The entire tutorial section of the game has you spending actual weeks running around completing tasks and doing hard labor to set up his colony. You're even tasked with preparing his properties and finding buyers for them. No, you aren't a tenant anymore. You work for the landlord. You are directly responsible for finding tenants for him. And he doesn't even fucking pay you. Not for setting up town hall and museum, or his nephew's shop –– which is the ONLY store on the entire island that sells necessities –– or bringing KK Slider to town, or helping populate his town. Not a single cent. No, actually, you have to pay HIM to BUY infrastructure like bridges and stairs and park benches. And all the while, he's telling you're the "resident representative"; you get to call the shots! That the reward is the community's progress. That what you're doing is in everyone's best interest (but most importantly, his).

Since NH's release, people have done a lot of legwork to say that Tom Nook isn't a capitalist while the game shows him at his very worst. He owns the only general store in town. You're forced to use a phone that he modified and branded as his own. Buy Nook-branded furniture and merchandise at the self-serve kiosk in the town hall, a governmental building! There's no conflict of interest here!

But hey, if you're tired of being the landlord/business mogul's goon, you can also find work as a deluxe resort home designer for a company that also pays you in their special company currency that can only be used to buy their products instead of a real salary! Because that's what the Animal Crossing franchise needs! More vacation homes!!!

She had been ambushed, and an aura suppressor put on her as she was paraded in front of a crowd dressed in a cow print bikini and fake horns, a man yelling to them, "Which one of you wants the Invincible slut! Bidding starts at 250k Lien!"

You did it. You finally found Dani. Except now she's the Black Swan. An assassin on the Avengers Potential Threats list. Dani pulls out the knife from the body she just killed. She pulls out her gun on you.

"What are you doing here?" She asks in a cold and unfeeling manner. Her eyes soften a tiny bit as she recognizes you. "You shouldn't be here." She says still coldly, pointing the gun at you. There was a slight Russian accent to her voice.

A little girl with blonde hair and blue eyes, no older than 5 runs out of her hiding place. She goes behind Dani with fear in her eyes.

Shadows of the Sanctum

The Sanctum is quiet, too quiet, considering the tension in the air. As you step inside, a faint shimmer of distorted reality prickles at your skin. It’s subtle, but you can tell something’s wrong. The ambient light is dimmer, casting elongated shadows that seem to watch you.

Suddenly, footsteps echo down the grand staircase. Serena descends, but there’s something off about her. Her posture is sharper, more calculated. She’s dressed in a dark, purple sorceress suit, and her once warm, bright eyes have a cold, shadowed gleam. Her smile, thin and laced with a sinister amusement, doesn’t reach her eyes.

“Well, well…” She stops on the last step, tilting her head as if studying a specimen. “A visitor from Earth-616. Strange didn’t mention we’d be expecting anyone.” Her voice is smooth, too controlled, as if she’s weighing every word like a weapon.

The fight has ended. He no longer feels the radiant presence of Miquella. His strength spent, his mind once again his own... he lies on the ash-covered ground, too exhausted to move. By all rights, he should be dead. His opponents dealt some heavy blows, and he's bleeding from several deep wounds.

I am defeated... yet... alive?

His heart yet beats. He must be alive. His body feels alien... wrong... someone else's. His memories are still shrouded in a fog, with only a glimpse here and there.

His purpose was to be Miquella's lord - at least, that was the purpose burned into his soul when it was granted new life. Yet now, he feels it fading away... leaving him with nothing.

I find it so funny that people are dubbing lifting the bottom of your shirt up as "pulling a Gracie"... I'll admit I get caught doing it in front of paparazzi a lot, but it's more of an anxiety, fidget thing. I need my hands to be doing something, what do you think I play guitar for? I'm curious to hear any habits of yours, good or bad, I won't tell a soul. @sbhqstarters

It's been a long time...

The landscape should be familiar to Radahn, but his home has been transformed into a nightmarish wasteland. He had only witnessed the immediate fallout after the battle - soon, he would isolate himself in the desert, worried he would hurt his soldiers as he was gradually losing himself to the rot.

Now, alive once more - if one can call being in a stolen body alive - he came back. He knew it was going to be bad, but what he sees is even worse than he excepted. The plants, the wildlife, the very soil, even the sky seems infected and mutated.

He's fighting back the rising dread inside. He may be healthy now, but he is not immune, and he remembers all too well what the scarlet rot feels like.
