Fantasia 2000 is great because it has a segment starting Donald Duck that not only implies that Noah saw Donald Duck naked but God probably told Noah “Look, I’m sick of the way of the way mankind is, so grab two of every animal, your family, and Donald & Daisy Duck. Love those two”

But really, great showcase of Donald and Daisy. I remember seeing this in imax with my grandpa and siblings and just being so moved by everything. It’s genuinely heartbreaking when both Donald and Daisy think the other didn’t make it and whenever the two would pass by each other on the ark without noticing the other

And that reunion. It’s so wonderful!

Also the song Pomp and Circumstance just goes so well with the story!

I also love that the segment preceding it was the Sorcerer’s Apprentice and that the introduction to Donald’s segment had an interaction between him and Mickey. It was like the passing of the torch in a way

If they make another Fantasia, Goofy should star in his own segment

After all this time searching for it, it turns out it was on the website of its animator, Edward Bakst: https://ideaforia.com/animation/ (It's called "The Refrigerator Song" here. It's listed with Sesame Street cartoons, but it's explicitly from The Electric Company, as the caption says)

I still hear garbled half-forgotten versions those lyrics in my head every time I hear Pomp and Circumstance.

Pomp and Circumstance: Sir Georg Solti

After I wrote this on YouTube, I received some opposing opinions. I haven't read it in detail, but that's probably the case. When I looked it up, I found that the title was taken from Shakespeare's "Othello." However, isn't the heroism of this piece fitting for the hero of a generation: Wellington?

Composer Elgar wrote this piece before WWI when Britain was in the final glory of Pax Britannica. Elgar undoubtedly had Wellington, who created Pax Britannica, in mind.

During WWII, there was Alan Turing, a mathematician who decoded the German Enigma code and contributed to Britain's victory over Germany. He should be called a hero, but he was not alive when the song was written.

There may have been other people in Britain who could be called heroes, but Wellington is the one who shines the most throughout history. Although this song is not dedicated to him in musical history, in my heart, Pomp and Circumstance is a song that praises Wellington.

このようにYou Tubeで書いたところ、反対意見が送られてきた。私はそれを細かく読んでいないが、たぶんそうなのだろう。調べてみると、シェークスピアの「オセロ」から題名が取られている。だが、この曲の勇壮さは、一代の英雄：ウェリントンに相応しいものではないか。

作曲家のエルガーがこの曲を書いたのはWW1以前、イギリスがパックス・ブリタニカの最後の栄光にあった頃だ。そのパックス・ブリタニカを作ったウェリントンを、エルガーが頭に置いてなかったことはあるまい。

ＷＷ２時には、ドイツの暗号エニグマを解読し、ドイツに対するイギリスの勝利に貢献した数学者：アラン・チューリングもいて、英雄と呼ぶべきだが、曲が書かれたころにはまだこの世にいなかった。

イギリスには、他にも英雄と呼べる人はいたであろうが、その歴史を通して随一の輝きを放つのがウェリントンである。音楽史的にはこの曲が彼に捧げられたものではないにせよ、私の心の内では威風堂堂は、ウェリントンを称える曲なのである。

Hey! Sorry I’ve been gone I got a little depressed lol. The grading period is over tonight and I have straight a’s, but I don’t have any A+’s. It’s not terrible because a few of my classes are weighted but I hope I do better next year. I missed half of my weight lifting final so I have to go back in a bit to make it up, and then there’s only one day of school left. I’m playing pomp and circumstance at graduation, so wish me luck for that! An employee yelled at me earlier and it made me cry, but other than that I’ve had a good day. Excited for the summer, I hope u guys are too.
