A Stop For A Drink

Second art to this series! (Yes I’m making it a series I wanna draw more of them)

After drawing this part, I really wanted to write a fanfiction based off of this, I’m not a writer if at all but I’m so curious! Anyways they take a stop to get a drink and Gary just wants this to be done with already. (Probably because they’re still on their way to the location idk where I haven’t decided yet + they’re taking forever) It was a hot day too so he let it slide.

Days have been becoming colder for us southern hemisphere people so make sure you take care of yourself and warm up! As for the northern ones stay hydrated and enjoy your summer breaks! I forgot to say last post but happy pride month and I’ll catch you guys next time, smell ya later!

Something really minor that pisses me off to no end is how SuMo designed Ash’s outfit. In every other region he’s been wearing weird sportswear shit like fingerless gloves and brightly colored sleeveless jackets but in SuMo he looks like he stumbled into an Old Navy and picked out the first outfit that fit him. I’d get it 100% if it were Sophocles or Hau or any of the other characters because the Alolan kids actually act like children their age, but Kantonians have been proven time and time again to not give a rattata’s ass about raising kids, Ash is constantly acting way older than he is and still getting shit from his friends and Professor Oak for being immature. Ash should get to dress like a 35 year old man who’s dedicated his life to hiking and only owns stuff he got from his local sports shop because that’s probably what he thinks he is.

But eh, that’s just my opinion.

#Everyone and their grandmother has complained about how ugly he looks in SuMo and to be fair #They’re Right.#He wasn’t adapted well to the squishy art style and they could’ve done a lot better while still having that softer vibe.#But I care more about worldbuilding and the cultural differences in Pokémon and Ash dressing and acting like a real kid breaks my immersion #He was raised in a culture where literal ten year olds are thrown into the woods to play with wild animals.#And he was constantly being shamed for acting immature even though he acts like a goddamn 16 year old 90% of the time.#He should be a freak. A weirdo. The Alolan kids should think he’s a total nut job and he should feel the same way about them.#There’s no way he’s just gonna fit into Alolan society on day one. Headcanon Hell: Pokemon #1

Ash and Gary's love language should be based on giving each other pokemon and/or partnering up with the other's pokemon.

(This would fit nicely with the fandom's idea that Ash should have an Eevee that evolves into an Espeon. That Eevee could be a gift from Gary. Preferably around the time he got his own.)

I would describe my reaction to Natlan as disappointed but unsurprised. I will say the one positive thing I’ve noticed is there’s more people speaking out in an orderly fashion and less push back against the people speaking out. Not to say there isn’t push back there definitely is, but the conversation feels less like rabid dogs going at each other. Part of this I think is due in part to the fact that many people (like myself) expected this and were prepared this time around, but also people’s flimsy arguments are crumpling. “Just wait till Natlan” arguments can’t be passed around anymore. Chinese fans are also complaining, so you can’t even make that argument anymore.

I don’t know if any of this will get Hoyo to recall anything but god we can dream. However, it’s still nice though to see the backlash.
