The Last Jedi AU: Ignore whatever’s supposed to happen or where people are in this movie. Paige Tico is foiled in her attempt to release the bombs that would take out the First Order ship. Her ship is boarded and she’s taken onboard the Star Destroyer as a captive intelligence officer, but before she’s captured she’s able to relay a covert message to Rose telling her what happened.
Instead of the diversion to Canto Bight, Rose is the one with the knowledge of splicing into Imperial ships and she and Finn impulsively plan to jet over to the Star Destroyer in an escape pod Rose had been experimenting with a cloaking device on, the two of them breaking in on their own.
Finn finds Poe to tell him of Paige’s capture and his and Rose’s plan. Poe knows that he can’t condone or contribute resources to it and knows for a FACT Leia won’t allow it, despite the fact Paige is a friend and the same rank he is. He’s torn between getting her back but needing to stay and lead, so he he tells them to take BB-8 and does that Mr. Incredible thing where he tells Finn and Rose what “NOT” to do to get into an Imperial flagship, him planning the distraction from the outside and still screwing with Hux over the comms and keeping eyes turned his way as Finn and Rose sneak onboard to find Paige.
Can you imagine if like they manage to get into some labs while they’re doing recon and Finn senses something? Can you imagine him hesitating as they move, telling Rose they have to go back while she’s hissing for him to keep moving? Her either hacking into the tech to redirect First Order troops away from their location, or going off to find her sister herself while Finn stays behind? Finn finding schematics and draftings alongside old codexes and scrolls before eventually coming to the humming, fractured kyber crystal in the next room, hanging suspended in midair above the equipment? Realizing as he’s digging through the odd mix of both scientific and semi-magical texts what it’s for, but that Ren hasn’t been able to force it to conform to his needs, too unstable to be housed even in his own lightsaber? Finn starting to configure and piece things together even as Rose tells him they’re running out of time?
As they’re sneaking around, gathering pertinent information to the plot and finding Ren’s plans for Rey and Skywalker, they’re nearly caught— Surrounded by First Order troops and with seemingly no way out, Rose and Finn prepare for the worst, when all of a sudden one of the troops goes rogue and eliminates all of their fellow officers instead. Paige Tico managed to escape and had disguised herself, just happening to be lucky enough to run into them in the lower levels. Paige tells them of some of the other rebel prisoners aboard the ship she was planning to break out, and the three of them, finally united, start plotting their means off Ren’s flagship when they overhear Hux in the corridor talking about Ren meditating in some inner sanctum with an order to be left alone with his own retinue on pain of death as he searches the Force or whatever for the location of Rey and Skywalker
Back onboard the New Republic ship Poe and Leia confer with the other generals as to what the Sith’s next move is going to be when they receive an incoming transmission from Kylo Ren himself.
As Kylo Ren and Leia Organa face off in what was to be their last confrontation, the tone and gravitas of their conversation somber, something flickers over the feed, and everybody on the New Republic ship’s bridge sees a blinding arc of light as one of the First Order troops behind Ren steps out of line and carves a blade of shimmering green in a downward arc directly behind him.
Outraged and caught off guard, Ren blocks the attack with his own blade, both lightsabers flickering with different energies, and as Finn’s voice shouts over the holo Poe realizes that not only has Finn given them an opening to hit Ren’s flagship, he may have even been able to stop this war in its tracks.

Oh no, in my semi-isolation the urge to do that entire rewrite of everything that happens post-Force Awakens is roaring back to life.
I have been threatening to do so for years and sitting here with nothing to do but clean and watch YT reactions of people watching SW for the first time is firing it back up.
Fuck it, we throuple like it's 2016.

What Happened to Bad Batch Season 3: Canceled Season 4/Condensed/Frankenstein'ed Plots Conspiracy Edition:
(aka: Poe Is Still On Her Bullshit)
(It's a puzzle, I like puzzles, but this one has been breaking my brain since May 1st/but really as far back as s3e8/9).
Tumblr media
(And if you loved season 3, I am very glad, but this post is probably not for you lol)
We begin our tale with the episode Bad Territory (3.8), wherein with very little pushback, Hunter & Wrecker decide to venture off alone to find Fennec, despite the indignation at the idea of being left behind when infiltrating an Imperial outpost 3 episodes earlier.
(yes there are textual excuses for this; does it stand up to close scrutiny that we'd trust taking Omega more to an Imperial outpost we didn't know was abandoned rather than to see a bounty hunter who isn't known to currently be after her? you do you.)
We notably get this conversation with Fennec - this is important - while they're on Creepy Toxic Planet:
Tumblr media
Fennec also has a jab about how Nala Se thought Omega would be safer with the Batch, rather than on Kamino, and how that obviously didn't work out so well.
Which... makes no sense in the context of the episode except maybe flimsily in a "well she's not here so she must be lost" way. But she looked into the squad, she knows there are/were more than 2, so Omega's absence isn't necessarily weird...
Unless this part of this episode was originally a hunt for Omega early season plot repurposed around a new intro/ending/motivations and with the Pabu scenes in between to carry on the Omega & Crosshair relationship development.
Now this episode builds up straight to The Harbinger, i.e. the Ventress episode, i.e. the episode that tells us twice in the script itself, that we are wasting valuable season time on a question that does not matter.
Tumblr media
From the end of episode 7 and Rex's "you have to figure out why they're after her" spiel, we are never given a compelling reason to figure it out. As Crosshair tells us in 9 - it matters not at all. It's not like the answer would change anything. And from a viewer standpoint, we were given the answer at the end of episode 3, when Emerie rushes to stop the ship being shot down.
But I have another contender for a repurposed early season storyline:
The Juggernaut. Crosshair is with them in this episode. Crosshair is the driving force behind this episode.
The big action scene of this episode quite notably is Hunter & Wrecker centric, and when Crosshair is in the room (in the Juggernaut cockpit) (aside from the shot of him dragging Rampart out of the hold) - he is in the background, doesn't speak, and is not spoken to or acknowledged.
Tumblr media
He is likewise just floating (lol get it?) in the background during the chaos approach to Erebus, while Phee actually has a conversation with Hunter & Wrecker.
(I've been trying to decide if Crosshair looks potentially added in later to the dramatic jump on the ramp scene as well)
(should emphasize when I say things like 'added in later' I know fuck-all about animation)
Were these sequences salvaged from an earlier hunt-for-Omega story where Phee was actually part of the search and repurposed for this hasty/bananas-pacing Rampart-driven conclusion? And thus the relegation of Phee to suspiciously-arrived-right-on-time taxi driver and what-the-hell-cavern-on-Pabu-is-big-enough-for-THAT-ship?
Taken with a couple of dropped threads such as:
A sector location for Tantiss that's never again mentioned after ep2
Hemlock's "other plans" for Crosshair at the end of ep1
The bag of 30k credits Crosshair makes sure to scoop up on Lau
I am thinking we were intended for a mid-season reunion. Few episodes hunting; few episodes building up Tantiss. Maybe 2 shorter episodes condensed into the long(er) season opener to get that 5 month time jump in there?
Which then prods my curiosity about other curiously dropped threads or just irrelevancies like:
Omega's crossbow
"All our operatives" Hemlock wants notified on Lau and how few that is/(or how quickly they get killed off??)/the fact that he's yanked 4 aside despite the crucial need to get Omega back so he can make them... idk extra badass Worst Batch operatives who all bring knives to gunfights?
(sorry my salt is showing lol I hate them so much)
What the hell does Hemlock show the Emperor (WITH Nala Se in tow) in ep 3 (and was that supposed to be the Vault)?
Everything about CX-2.
...weirdly I also kind of want to call Batcher a dropped thread? Like... I don't think she needs a bigger story and she deserves her days obliviously relaxing on Pabu while everyone else almost dies. But I do wonder if she wasn't envisioned for... some further role after ep 3. Besides therapy dog and snow shovel. But if not I'm not mad about it lol.
My instinctive thought wondering, if mid-season was meant to be a reunion after at the very least a Phee/Fennec/Durand sequence of hunting episodes and maybe another ep or 2 on Tantiss (or another ep on the run? or an earlier Emerie-centric episode?), what sort of season 3 (of 4) finale might that be building towards.
I have a hard time imagining it'd be Point of No Return and repeating the end of season 2 but maybe....
Or my first thought was:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
building into a season 4 follow-through-on-Echo's-whole-story-since-season-1 plot, tying in his and Rex's side, the politics...
with a touch of
Tumblr media Tumblr media
to tease us into season 4 with Crosshair's making peace with the "regs" as he completes a longer season redemption arc and CX-Tech (yes, CX-Tech) crawling out of the river (possibly after getting beat to hell starts cracking the conditioning a bit?).
(This potential finale thought does however leave hanging curious threads such as the CX-2 & Phee scene and the forever fascination with CX-2 shooting his own pilot in 3.11 so maybe not)
(but setting it at the end of the season does satisfy my 'doesn't Omega look a lot older between eps 5 & 6?' thing that's been bugging me for months lol)
Now. If they found out when they were already well on their way to done with season 3 (and started on 4?) that they were getting 4 canceled... how do you hastily jam a resolution into place?
Condense your reunion to one passage of time Tantiss ep/one hunting ep/escape ep/hijinks&reconnect ep.
Replace CX-Tech stakes with kids-in-the-basement stakes.
Maneuver Emerie & Omega to facilitate a nice smooth resolution to the kids plot to make way for a grittier action plot for everyone else. (I know I know no one else is on my episode 10 Emerie making no sense + lego brick vault vendetta but it is what it is)
Replace a bigger Tantiss clone assault with Tarkin shuttering it despite the emperor's eagerness in ep3 and going from "more prisoners than we thought!" to a manageable amount for a 4 man infiltration team + 1 evac shuttle.
Conveniently ignore the second mountain.
And have CX-2 cut off Crosshair's hand to emphasize no-really-he's-totes-mcEvil and deserves the spear and none of the clones are redeemable after all but then not have time to worry about the traumatic aftermath of it lol.
(+ keep your Ventress ep however you can fit it because someone said you had to) (I guess?)
Anyway all this to say: if a canceled 4th season is what happened, perhaps season 3 originally had room to breathe. Perhaps we got some actual Pabu time, and Omega meeting the cadets, and some reminder the Pabu friends existed before they just existed to be threatened in 3.11. Perhaps Phee was more than a ride to Erebus. Perhaps it took Hunter & Crosshair more than an episode to make nice. Perhaps the Ventress episode was... uh. Relevant? Force-sensitive Omega maybe?
Perhaps they took Omega and her 30k credits to Canto Bight, idk.
And perhaps, well - CX-Tech.
(Better late than dead)

Hello, you can call me Poe. I’m not all that familiar with social media just yet so do forgive me for any mistakes I may make. I only recently even got a phone!
Some of you may recognize me from my work at the Soup Kitchen (if you don’t know about it, it’s everyday from 17:00-20:00!!!) or from my shop on Connudatus St. (The Forest Reverie - I mostly sell flowers, but I’ve also started selling fresh produce!). Though I normally only set up shop on Saturday’s or Sunday’s -v-;;
I am normally pretty busy working or studying, so I may not be very active here. So I’m sorry if I miss any asks or am late sometimes, or seem to disappear for a while.
But! If anyone has any recommendations for things to check out (movies, books, games, places, and so on) please let me know! Until recently I haven’t really been able to go out or do much of my own thing, and it’s all rather overwhelming.
Oh, also, please feel free to send asks here. I don’t actually have a proper phone plan so I can’t send or receive texts either -v-;;;
<OOC Below> : Rules / Disclaimers / Trigger Warnings
THIS BLOG IS 18+ ONLY : if I learn that you are under the age of 18 you will be promptly blocked
Typical DOL (Degrees of Lewdity) Trigger Warnings : explicit noncon/dubcon, violence, brainwashing/drugging, transphobia (as in Poe is trans), weird purity politics of “virginity”
Further Trigger Warnings :
- Poe is 17 and has been sexually abused since he was even younger
- Nonconsensual Incest/PseudoIncest
- Extreme Medical Malpractice
- Extreme Power Imbalance
Poe’s story is a horror story rather than sexy fun times due to his asexuality and age. I write him going through canon-typical sexual violence and abuse, and write Poe reacting in realistic ways. DOL overall feels very unrealistic and goofy at times, with Poe I put effort to make it more realistic, which thus makes it more horrifying.
Continue at your own discretion
(This list is made as I have seen people have very negative reactions to what I have done in his storyline)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Art by @dol-dee)
Basic Information
Poe is Tiny, Intersex, and Meek. He uses exclusively he/him pronouns and is transmasc.
He used to have Congenital Heart Disease (which is what kept him bedridden for his childhood) but has since received a heart transplant that has helped. He is however still immunocompromised and has difficulty doing physical activity.
His hair was brown until an encounter with the Ivory Wraith during the Blood Moon, in which he received an ear slime. The trauma from the event quickly led him to having a week in the asylum, in which during that time his hair quickly turned to its current ashy grey.
Poe continues to make weekly visits to the hospital for therapy and to check on his condition. He has full trust in Dr Harper and is not aware of Dr Harper’s abuses.
Poe obsessively ensures that his reputation is perfect, and any foul or bad rumors quickly disappear after appearing.

Hello, making another of these cause I felt it needed updating! Also just redid Poe’s blog a wee bit. It may continue to have changes occur, which I’ll point out on @hemlocks-hidey-hole when they occur.
Once again, anything that occurs within <> is me talking in OOC, most commonly found in the tags of a post.
Also a fun character inspo/mood board thing, though these were all applied after the fact.

Controversial Star Wars opinion: The conflict between Poe Dameron and Admiral Holdo was super weird and I still can't figure it out. What was the inclusion of that conflict supposed to do for either character?
…The Last Jedi is actually my favourite of the Sequel Trilogy… I suppose that’s a controversial opinion of my own 😉
In terms of plot-line, the conflict is fine. It gives Poe’s storyline more drama.
However, I don’t like what it does to Poe’s character. Because that arc made Poe look disrespectful, arrogant, mutinous, and (from a certain point of view) kinda sexist!
Also, as the arc paints Holdo in a somewhat villainous light, it means you don’t really have time to grow fond of Holdo before she sacrifices herself. It makes her sacrifice less poignant.
Compare her death to the deaths of Rogue One, for example.
But anyway, that’s just how I’ve felt about it for a while now. Thank-you for giving me the chance to vent, Anon!

Finally got a semblance of free time to play the Recently Released Videogame! No plot discussions happen in this post, I just gush about the little things.
My experience is, uh. Suboptimal. I am grateful my laptop can emulate Switch at all, but when your average FPS is around 5, only gets as high as 12 and has a tendency to go into decimals or freeze, fast-paced combat gets hard.
Despite that, the gameplay is fun! All the abilities are such a blast, and compliment one another nicely: for example, I cheesed one part of a certain shrine by Ultrahanding a platform in one place in the air for a bit, then effectively Stasising it with Recall, then Ascending on top of that still-Recalled platform, and then getting additional height by shield-jumping on a shield fused with a spring. Just for funsies. The intended solution was to essentially shield-surf on a short straight rail.
God I love fusing springs to shields. Revali who. My Bomb Flower count is criminally low, as I haven't figured a way to dupe them w/o exploding, and I don't have consistent source of rockets yet, but the springs are relatively early-game and do their job pretty well!
You know what I love even more than that? Glitches :^). And they're finally easy enough for me, a total noob, to perform. I only duped materials so far, timing a frame-perfect weapon dupe on my suboptimal setup sounds hard... but I wanna try and transfer the legendary MsgNotFound one of these days. I was so lucky to find a diamond in one of the caves tho!
Did you know that the shrine lobby (a tiny area seen through the entry portal) can serve as a cover for your campfire during rainy weather? It made more sense in BоTW, as Shеikah shrines were more material, but beggars can't be choosers.
So far my playthrough fits the "feral Lonk" stereotype. Towns are laggy, so I mostly wander around the wilderness aimlessly. The overall plan is to grind the full second stamina wheel + activate a few towers, then go get the Heart Container from the Great Plateau quest, get the Master Sword, grind shrines for hearts and only then hit a couple of dungeons. After that, joining the Yıga is a must. I'm not even sure I'll be able to fight the dungeon bosses or G-man with how hard even the basic combat currently is, so my only hope is to be able to tank through damage.
I wanted to get the Lobster Tunic so badly, but the guys at Lurеlin keep kicking my ass :^(.
Sadly, it seems you cannot skip the first memory. The puddles just aren't anywhere inside the geoglyphs.
Fujibаyashi-san loves to put the "temporary equipment loss moment" in all of the series entries done under him (except MC), and in TоTK alone there's soooo many. It's a whole shrine subset now, not to mention the dedicated pantsless quest in the gazette storyline. Wonder how's the Еvеntide doing these days - judging by a chasm, it doesn't seem like a similar event will take place here.
Speaking of chasms on the islands... Remember the PH-themed archipelago in the wetlands? There's a chasm on Mercay island. You know. The island where the Temple of The Ocean King is located. Something about the way BоTW/TоTK genuinely appreciates DS games feels very vindicating. First Monster Cake being a chancellor's favourite dessert, then the Phantom armor being one of the most OP sets, and now this chasm.
I saw Flowerblight :з.
Ang got owned by the Floormasters Gloom Hands once. Not touching them with a sturdy-stick-stick before I get s'more hearts, I know what comes after.
The guy with the sign! Such a cute concept, and the rewards are always so generous!
Depths are weird. The flora is super cool, and the landscape is twisted to a degree that merely figuring out how to get from point A to point B becomes a nontrivial challenge. Collecting Poes is fun, and I love getting the uncorrupted weapons from the ghosts of the past. Everything else scares me shitless. Mostly
Catching a Star fragment mid-air feels downright magical. I know they were probably coded with exactly that method of aquisition in mind, but it always feels like such a lucky catch.
Saw Nауdra once. Got the scale. Fused it to a spear. Now the spear looks like a comically large spoon, and I can't keep a straight face when this thing pops across half a screen, so I never equip it, but don't unfuse it either out of respect for the comedy aspect. The only funnier weapon that I've got so far is the honeycomb boomerang I got from a monster camp (the idea is genius, and I have honeycombs to maybe recreate it later), which is currently fused to a surprisingly high-damage Boko arm.
Yeah, I'm not unfusing my comically large Nауdra spon until I get a camera and take a selfie with it.
I always feel bad when fighting the apple-collecting Bokos. They have tiny Boko baskets on their backs :^(. They're just little guys :^(.
PORTABLE COOKING POTS. AND MULTIPLE TRAVEL MEDALLIONS THAT AREN'T LOCKED BY A DLC. YES.
Purаh is the prettiest woman to grace this world.

I need to explain why this man means so much to me.
I grew up in the 90s, actually a little too young to have watched him the first go around. But growing up, I feel like every show I watched had a storyline where the main character has to learn the lesson Be Yourself. And that's a fine message. But those characters were specifically designed to appeal to a mass audience of kids. They were everyman style characters. And frankly, it's easier to Just Be Yourself when you're an everyman and the weirdest thing about you is that you still play with Barbies in middle school (everyone did this I think) I liked those characters fine too. There's nothing wrong with Lizzie MacGuire or Ginger Foutley. But they weren't me. The characters that most resembled me were usually in episodes where the lesson was Don't Judge a Book By Its Cover. See it's a lot harder to swallow the lesson of "Just be yourself! Give people a chance to know the real you!" When you're weird. And I was WEIRD.
I now realize that I am in fact a traumatized, mentally ill neurodivergent queer woman, but back then I was a Weird Girl. So yeah good for you Lizzie, you're not getting bullied for ribbon dancing but what were my peers supposed to do with someone like me? I was reading Poe at the age of 8. I was quiet and liked fire and wanted to be a war goddess while being afraid of everything. The family joke was that I was actually from another planet. I was processing trauma I didn't know I had while listening to John Williams and Fleetwood Mac while everyone else was listening to Hansen and the Spice Girls. I loved reading about curses and cryptids and medieval torture devices. No amount of just be yourself messages from cartoon preteens was going to cut it.
But then there was Pee-wee. Pee-wee was WEIRD. His entire thesis statement was weirdness. He was the Patron Saint of Weirdos. He looked me dead in my eyes and, as Paul said on Portlandia, told me BEING WEIRD IS NOT A CRIME. When someone with a pet pterodactyl and a talking armchair tells you it's ok to be yourself, you fucking believe them. He walked the weird walk and took as many weirdos along with him as were willing to join him. And there were many it turns out.
Would Pee-wee think my love of horror and death was weird? Probably. Would he think it was weird that I make friends with moths and wasps and spiders and snakes? Yeah. But you better believe he'd take one look at my gothy apartment and put me right at the top of his list of people to call when it was time to decorate for Halloween. I'd have been on the guest list for his Halloween parties every year. Because being weird wasn't something that needed to be forgiven or tolerated. Being weird is a GOOD thing.
I have had such a strange emotional journey lately but where I've landed now is this. I'm not sure I can live for myself right now. But I'm going to do my best to stick around. For him. For Pee-wee and for Paul. Because I know he'd want me to. He'd want me to live and be weird and rejoice in my weirdness.
And he was always there. During bouts of depression and hardship, through all my health problems. His natural soft speaking voice always resonated at the perfect frequency to calm me down during my anxiety attacks. When I was stuck at home with spinal fluid draining into my brain, I played Pee-wee's Big Adventure, because it made me happy and because the dvd always restarted without prompting so I never had to get up if I lost the remote amongst my messed up sheets.
I met him in 2017. I pushed back all my social anxiety and went alone to my first convention because he was going to be there. Doing the terrible math, this would have been around the time he probably got diagnosed. I will be forever glad I went. I was speechless but I shook his hand and held it and tried to thank him, to convey without words how and why he's one of my favorite people in the whole world. The line for the meet and greet was over 2 hours long. He had to leave in the middle to get something to eat. He went to every single person in line and apologized and promised he would be back. I regret I'll never get to bring him muffins. But he was by all accounts one of the sweetest men in the world and I'm going to spend a lot of time missing him. And rejoicing in my weirdness. Because being weird is not a crime. Because he'd want me to. Because weirdos have to stick together.
And given the people I met at that convention, I think it's safe for me to paraphrase the words of Blanche Devereaux here and say, if love can help you wherever you are, you've got it. More than you could ever know.
I love you and I miss you.

Look, I don't have any strong desire to stand up for Kylo Ren fans -- primarily because I am personally incapable of experiencing strong fan emotions about anything in the Star Wars sequels, on account of them being embarrassingly inept films from an embarrassingly inept filmmaker (not you, Rian, you're doing amazing sweetie) -- but it is low-key annoying how far off base all those posts are that are like, but Finn and Poe are right there, are you stupid or something? Like, what's not clicking here? Obviously Oscar Isaac and John Boyega are traditionally handsome movie star men, and obviously Adam Driver is -- not exactly that. People aren't really disagreeing there.
It shouldn't take some kind of fan studies scholar to understand that Kylo Ren stans are reacting to story elements -- to whatever combo of soul bonds and fall-and-redemption tragedy and just plain villain kink turns their particular crank. It's so weird to see people scornfully be like, why can't you like the hot ones like a normal person? Because the hot ones weren't as interesting, is why! Nothing in the movies is all that deep, but whatever meat there is on the bone at all is entirely about the love-hate relationship Rey and Luke and Han and Leia all have with Kylo Ren, there are not emotional arcs anywhere else that matter very much to the story. The only other character who has anything resembling a personal journey is Finn, and all that's ever going to be said about that is said in the first 20 minutes, really.
Not everyone gets turned on by someone getting an interesting storyline, but if you've been in fandom for more than five seconds, it shouldn't be weird to discover that plenty of fans do pick their faves for story-related reasons, and not just because they're the most handsome actor on the screen. It's why we call half of our faves scraggly wet cats and that kind of thing!

could i ask for 6 for the q&a? needing some advice tbh.
What do you think is the best way to improve writing skills?
Practice and research. I know it's been preached probably a thousand times but practice will literally help you so much more than just thinking how bad of a writer you might be. Firstly, you're not. There's no such thing as a bad writer, just bad editing.
Am I harping on editors? Absolutely not, but if you look me in the eye and say "His eyebrows widened" and not think there's something awry, then you're not good at editing or lack brain cells or you're insanely exhausted and just want to get this thing submitted before the deadline. This is an actual quote for a VERY POPULAR story about the many hues of monochromatic color. I will never forgive this.
Second: Research. What do I mean by that? Well, what do you want to write? My primary writing style leans more towards erotic-romance because that's the type of research I do regularly. What do i mean by this? I mean, i read nonstop horny shit on the reg. Probably Warrior Cats was the first thing I read that wasn't horny in months, maybe a year.
A couple of the books I read are stories like the Ice Planet Barbian Series or my recent fixation, a vampire erotica series called "Unchained." These? They're both VERY corny mind you. these books in particular are written to be consumed by a horny audience.
Now, if you wanna do something with a more developed storyline, lean into that. Find books like that. For more intense stories, I have read "A Touch of Darkness," a modern retelling of the Hades and Persephone story, highly popularized by the Lore Olympus comics. This book had I think...three scenes that were erotic, but even then, it was more emotional eroticism rather than horny.
Find the niche that you thrive in. For me? That's erotic novels. For my friend? That's what we call "Emo Poetry," by which we mean Edgar Allen Poe inspired poems. For Stephen King? Weird horror.
The tldr: Write what you want to read.

Reylo confession time (permission to skin me alive) but don't keep reading if you love TLJ: I actually find TLJ not an overall particularly... great? amazing? completely watchable film?, and whilst I think its guiding ethos was actually pretty sound (death which brings new life) and its online reaction overblown - to my own personal tastes, I don't like a lot of it. I enjoy when the Force and Resistance plotlines intersect but I find the latter extremely tedious. (I enjoy Rose, and Paige's last stand at the beginning of the film). I get that it goes back to the OT and its original dogfighting, war film influences, but I really do not overall enjoy the plot of 'rebelling against the evil empire' blah blah, and it's particularly bad in the ST since TLJ is saddled with rehashing the exact same conflict as the OT which the first Sequel Trilogy film sets up and forces us to sit through.
There's a foundational issue with it as a consequence of TFA and I don't buy into it and I find it very hard to care about because Bowser will come back in the Sequel Sequel Trilogy, presumably, and it's less mythic more than it is like, the same shit all over again.
I think there's also the issue in that Kylo Ren can't replicate the connective tissue between the Force and Resistance plotlines the way Darth Vader does, because he's not in the same position of authority (Hux wields a lot of that) and because he's so obviously the Prodigial Son/Cursed Prince. The only bit that really works for me is the scene with Luke at the end, and that's really where I think the two plotlines work together for something actually greater than its parts.
In this sense, Kylo Ren having less authority and more evident narrative sympathy from Day 1 with Driver's performance makes the story overall suffer (in terms of a retread of the OT), because it's trying to retread the OT and moving around parts which can't be moved around. This isn't a TLJ problem per se, this is a ST problem, and I think that's why TLJ takes such a specific and personal focus on Kylo Ren with the Force Bond storyline. It adds something new, it justifies why the ST exists, because it's not just Vader redone - and one can dispute the Anidala redemption of the relationship all one likes, but I think that Reylo is justified on the grounds that it's new and it works with the role Kylo Ren has been given (and Rey, as the outsider).
But that's why I don't find it interesting once Rey turns to the Resistance plotline at the very end because I don't have very much emotional investment in it, and I get it - it's often justified on the grounds that well, now she has a taste of true emotional awakening, the Resistance and Force stories can properly cohere in the third film (which never happened) - but all of this is feeding into each other in that where the ST has a unique identity, it's weakened by the saddle of the OT retreading. Which is ironic, because the online furore was so soundly grounded in it not being the latter enough, and where it does retread it, who actually remembers what the OT was about anyway? Lol. Fundamental aspects of the OT identity are discarded where personal power fantasy has been inserted.
It makes me feel a bit weird because I know Reylos generally love TLJ and I kept this to myself for a long time, and no, I don't think criticisms of TLJ generally come from the same place as me. What I'm basically saying is that the Reylo plotline works so well for what the ST uniquely is, and what it uniquely has to say - and I enjoy the Rey-Luke dynamic as well, especially because I love realistic characterisation, do none of you remember Luke with Yoda lol, why does everybody want Rey to be universally perfect and loved by everybody ever it's so weird - and the film is just really dragged down with baggage and the Resistance plotline. I wish that it were interwoven better, and part of that is clearly production changes (Poe was meant to die in the first film) and part of that is the most interesting parts being left for the third film which were never reprised (Stormtrooper rebellion with Finn), and I also recognise that this comes down to personal taste. I'm much more interested in the heart of SW than I am in the overall aesthetics, and this is why EU material doesn't interest me at all.

Okay so I watched the raven (2012) movie.
I’m spiralling down a weird lovecraftian, Edgar Allan Poe, Sandman obsession🥰😩🫠 I really enjoy this movie though. I adored the storyline, the way they had to figured out the clues left at every place they were lead to through the clues in search of Poe’s beloved. The acting was incredible, the way the serial killer actually took Poe’s stories and brought them to life, horrifically twisted. Also John Cusack, Luke Evans & Oliver Jackson-Cohen fantastic actors. I adored watching them on screen and the scene were they were all in the same room had me like;

Reviewing Some of Edgar Allan Poe’s Short Stories
DISCLAIMER: I am not an English major or anything like that so don’t expect an actual detailed review, I just picked up a collection of his short stories one day because BSD has me in a chokehold. Also, my recollection of the stories may be inaccurate as I’m going mostly off of memory.
Manuscript Found in a Bottle - 4/10
- Basically the story is written as if the reader found a bottle in the ocean full of, you guessed it, manuscripts (letters)
- The letters themselves are meant to be written by a guy who decided to journey out to sea and writes about all the strange events that happen while he’s out sailing
- Now this would probably be an interesting story, but Poe stuffed so many technical ship terms like ‘beam-ends’ and ‘ballast’ that I spent more time trying to figure out what he was describing rather than understanding the plot itself
- Because of this, all I really managed to grasp of the story is that there was a strange storm and then all the crew members started acting weird before some weird phenomenon happened in the ocean that killed everyone
- It wasn’t a bad story but I really couldn’t keep up with all the technical lingo (did people back then just casually know these terms?) which reduced my enjoyment a lot, but I liked the concept of the story being a series of letters left behind by someone at sea
Ligeia - 8/10
- Now I actually really liked this one, the story is told through the words of a man who is reminiscing about his deceased wife, Ligeia
- About 1/3 of this story is the narrator describing how absolutely infatuated he was with his wife and how pretty and smart she was, which introduced me to some of my favourite quotes of all time, such as:
‘They became to me twin stars of Leda, and I to them devoutest of astrologers.’ (in relation to describing Ligeia’s eyes)
‘In beauty of face no maiden ever equalled her. It was the radiance of an opium-dream - an airy and spirit-lifting vision more wildly divine than the phantasies which hovered about the slumbering souls of the daughters of Delos.’
- Yeah I wasn’t kidding when I said this guy was INFATUATED with her. After he finishes gushing about her, he starts to talk about her falling ill and that she recited some cryptic poem about God and death shortly before she died
- After Ligeia’s death, the narrator falls into a form of depression, moves out into a mansion in England and marries a woman named Rowena, who he doesn’t like nearly as much as Ligeia
- He then continues to describe his entire mansion in painful detail (like he describes EVERYTHING about this mansion, good god) and talks about how his new wife, Rowena, also eventually fell ill
- THIS IS WHERE IT GETS INTERESTING, Rowena becomes so severely ill that she eventually dies and gets wrapped up in bandages or something of the sort to preserve her body before her body can be collected to be buried
- At night, the narrator goes into Rowena’s room and sits by her corpse while smoking opium (poor guy is really going through it at this point). As he sits there, he notices that Rowena’s body starts to breathe and move as if its alive, with some occasional sounds coming from her mouth. When this happens, the narrator is reminded of Ligeia and this whole fiasco continues for a while until eventually, the corpse gains enough life(?) to stand up by itself, at which point the bandages fall from its face and reveals the face of Ligeia *audience gasps*
- Yeah so this story had all the good stuff, beautiful descriptions (if not a bit excessive at times), an engaging storyline, and a nice creepy ending. Genuinely, I read this one very late at night and that whole part with the corpse coming back to life actually left me a bit antsy, in my opinion it was written quite well.
The Man that was Used Up - 6/10
- So uh, this entire story felt like a fever dream. So many sections of this story repeat over and over again that it makes you feel like you’re going mad. I think this was intended to be a mystery but it kind of read a bit more like a comedy because of that. Also Poe uses so many random French words and phrases in this one. I think it was like ‘fashionable’ to use random French in your conversation back then, and this one is written through the point of view of a guy who lives among upper class society (I think).
- Basically, the narrator is talking to his friend who mentions a guy called ‘Brevet Brigadier-General John A. B. C. Smith’ (he was referred using his full title like this throughout the entire story and it drove me up the wall). This John Smith guy apparently was very ‘heroic’ and killed some Native Americans in something called the ‘Bugaboo and Kickapoo Campaign’. Yeah nowadays I think he would be considered scum of the Earth, but seemingly back then this was a thing that people were praised for.
- In any case, the narrator hears of this ‘heroic’ act and thinks nothing too much of it until his friend mentions that there was something very strange about Smith’s appearance. The narrator then grows obsessed with finding out what this secret is and it becomes the entire plot of the story. He goes round to multiple people asking them to describe Smith but they somehow get interrupted every. single. time.
- Eventually, the narrator ends up going directly to Smith’s house to see for himself what the big secret is. He is greeted by Smith’s valet, who takes him to Smith’s room. The narrator hears Smith’s voice coming from a clump of clothes(?) on the floor, and slowly the valet starts to assemble Smith using various prosthetics. The narrator begins to realise what Smith’s secret is: he is the man that was used up.
- Now while the ending is quite cool and the general idea behind the plot is interesting, the entire build-up to this ending was a headache. Having to read the narrator go on a wild goose chase to figure out this secret while every other paragraph was repeated word for word made me feel like I was reading something straight out of Alice in Wonderland. Kind of interesting but a painful process to get to the good part, which only lasts for a paragraph or so once you get to it.
The Tell-Tale Heart - 9/10
- This is personally my favourite short story from Poe’s collection. I first read it in secondary school and have loved it ever since. It’s written in a way that is easier to understand than a lot of Poe’s other stories, and it’s not too descriptive either.
- This story essentially follows the narrator’s descent into madness as he grows obsessed with the idea of killing an elderly man who lives with him. He eventually manages to kill the man and hides the body under the floorboards. However, due to the noise he made, the police are alerted and come over to his house to see what’s going on.
- The narrator, satisfied with the murder he just carried out successfully, gets cocky and invites the policemen into his home. However, as the policemen sit and chat amongst themselves, the narrator grows increasingly more and more paranoid that the policemen actually know that he murdered the man, and that they are just toying with him. Throughout this whole ordeal, the narrator becomes more and more convinced that he can hear the dead man’s heart beating from under the floorboards, and he becomes convinced that the police can hear this too, despite them not showing any signs of doing so.
- Eventually, in a fit of panic and desperation, the narrator flings open the floorboards and reveals to the policemen the corpse of the elderly man, as well as his ‘hideous heart’.
- The way Poe has written the narrator’s descent into madness is so believable. When the narrator grows paranoid believing he can hear the corpse’s beating heart, it felt so convincing that I felt as if I could relate to the narrator’s emotions myself. At one point, I was on the edge of my seat, wanting the narrator to be able to carry out the murder undetected just as much as the narrator wanted to. This will always remain my favourite work of Poe’s, unless I find a better one.

EXACTLY THUS GIVING REASONS FOR MORI TO BETRAY EVERYONE.
tbh Dazai was a really confusing character to begin with. Just like Fyodor, he is unpredictable. What really is questioning is that if Ranpo is like a Mastermind himself, How is he unable to figure other's motive? Even if he didn't have an ability, in dead apple we could see Ranpo sitting on the table after the fight, Unless he was the first one to be revived in that world.
And frankly speaking, i think the plot might as well as get little weird if Oda is alive, considering we saw Dazai visit his grave. But I agree to the fact Oda's dreams and ambitions may be used next to continue the story. Infact to think, There are the guild people who we still don't know much about??? Like the guy who created Moby dick?
I haven't read storm bringer fully BUT EVERY BSD BOOK IS WORTH TO BE ANIMATED.
BUT TO THINK OF IT,
WHAT IF RANPO ACTUALLY MASTERMIND ALL?
What if the jail they resist in is nothing but a storyline created inside Poe's book? Because if that's true then Dazai really did survive the elevator fall.
Questioning
So its really sus how things work ft @im-feeling-hiraeth Part-1
AM SORRY THE POST WAS GOING TO LONG FOR MY DEVICE TO SCOLL DOWN-

LMAO IMAGINE Fukazawa taking care of that cat to find its his mentor smthg or the cat is a normal cat and we are overreacting-
I am pretty sure the plot isnt even about the book. Its because fukuzawa denied Fukuchi's offer to army. LIKE COME ON HE JUST WANTS THE BOOK TO ERASE STUFFF
I feel like even if they revive someone, there is a chance someone else dies, most bet on Dazai :\
As much i appriciate Nikolai's character, he is more messier then fyodor himself. And i feel like Sigma may as well as vanish because whenever there is a story, backstab and angst is a must-
What i find funny is that in all this situation, ADA is more of a terrorist then PM itself, and Mori as well be partnering with Fyodor, because well Rats over the city.
The fact that Kenji and Tecchou just fought and there is a little possibility that Tecchou is on ADA's side now (?)
Its indeed heartwarming to find Tachihara's motive to help, but do we realize that he just whoops died? i lowkey feel he is still alive- and Tachihara is such an underrated character.
But i really want to find out what truly is inside the minds of Nikolai and Bram, because like getting a backstory of how Fukuchi half killed?? Bram will be interesting.
Lets not forget the kid-
