White House Press Secretary Responds to Florida Gun Law

  It is shameful that so soon after another tragic school shooting, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed into law a permitless concealed carry bill behind closed doors, which eliminates the need to get a license to carry a concealed weapon. This is the opposite of commonsense gun safety.  The people of Florida — who have paid a steep price for state and Congressional inaction on guns from Parkland to Pulse Nightclub to Pine Hills — deserve better. President Biden has been clear: too many lives are being ripped apart by gun violence.  The President continues to call on Congress to ban assault weapons and high capacity magazines, require safe storage of firearms, eliminate gun manufacturers’ immunity from liability, and require background checks for all gun sales, and for state officials to take action at the state level.   Sources: THX News & The White House. Con Navidad a la vuelta de la esquina, uno de sus mayores rituales es el tema de conversación en Hollyridge: las compras. A sabiendas del flujo de nuevos turistas que traería el 2024, las autoridades estuvieron trabajando a lo largo de varios meses en la creación de un nuevo centro comercial en el corazón de Pinehill Summit, y su inauguración llega justo a tiempo. Similar al concepto aplicado en las ciudades más grandes, el centro comercial de Hollyridge trae consigo renovados negocios al pueblo. Entre ellos están: North Star Cinema, un pequeño cine; Silkstone, una tienda de ropa; Aurora Beauty, una tienda de cosméticos; Fable & Folio, una papelería; Driftwood Apparel, otra tienda de ropa; Balsam & Bellows, una tienda de artículos del hogar; y Cozy Crust, una pizzería. Political Apathy Will Cost Us

Apathy. What a word. Merriam-Webster defines it as a lack of feeling, emotion, interest, or concern. It’s a word we use often to describe political disengagement, but today it feels appropriate to describe what’s happening right here in Cibola County.

On December 3, in a meeting that lasted just 15 minutes, the Cibola County Board of Commissioners made a decision that flies in the face of one of the most fundamental principles of American government: Representation.

The commission voted unanimously to nominate State Representative Harry Garcia to fill the House District 6 seat vacated by Eliseo Lee Alcon for health reasons.

At first glance, Garcia seems like an excellent choice. He’s experienced, respected, well-liked, and he truly cares for Cibola County. But there’s a glaring problem: Harry Garcia doesn’t live in District 6.

This isn’t just a geographical technicality; it’s a constitutional requirement. Article 4, Section 3 of the New Mexico State Constitution clearly states:

“If any senator or representative permanently removes his residence from or maintains no residence in the district from which he was elected, then he shall be deemed to have resigned.”

House District 6 covers the western half of Cibola County, including Thoreau, Bluewater, Pinehill, Ramah-Navajo, and the Village of Milan. Harry Garcia resides in District 69, which covers an entirely different area. The commission’s decision to nominate someone who is ineligible to serve under the constitution is baffling and deeply troubling.

Let me be clear: this isn’t just about geography. This is about Representation.

The people of District 6 deserve to have their voices heard in Santa Fe. They pay taxes. They contribute to the community. But this decision effectively strips them of their Representation in Santa Fe, violating the very principle of “no taxation without representation” that this nation was founded upon.

Was this decision intentional? I’d like to believe it wasn’t. Maybe it was a rushed move made with the excitement of giving Garcia another shot at legislative service. But intentional or not, it was wrong. And if it stands, the consequences will be severe.

By nominating an ineligible candidate, the Cibola County Commission has handed McKinley County the opportunity to select a nominee who does meet the constitutional requirements. If McKinley’s choice is someone who resides in District 6, that person will automatically become the only qualified candidate for the governor’s consideration. In one fell swoop, Cibola could lose a legislative seat it has held for nearly two decades.

This is more than a political blunder. It’s a civic failure—a failure to understand and uphold the basic principles of our government. It’s a reminder that we need to do better, not just elected officials but as a community. Civics education isn’t just for kids in classrooms. It’s for everyone, especially those entrusted with making decisions that affect us all.

Cibola County has made incredible progress in recent years. But this decision threatens to undermine that progress and silence the voices of the people in District 6. I hope there’s still a chance to reverse it, to correct this mistake before it costs us something we can’t afford to lose.

Politics aren’t easy, and they certainly aren’t pretty. But they matter. Representation matters. And in this case, the stakes couldn’t be higher.

We were robbed, ROBBED I TELL YOU, of getting to properly see Eight. Within 10 seconds of hearing his first audio I knew we were completely and utterly ROBBED. The intro of Charley and the intro of Eighth Doctor audios. It should be included. (@youremyonlyhope )

Starshine rewrite, dark riders & horses

Sabine has Khaan, pure breed black fresian, with an unnaturaly high body tempature. Somes even reported to see Khaan burn down the grass as he stepped on it She got it as a birthday present from her parents. Khaan got trained as a dressage horse, but can perform somewhat well as a showjumper. Since she lack the love from her parents she try to win every competiton the Jorvik Stable is helding to try to gain their love.

Katja has Stalker, a pure black Parcheron, with extreamly low body temparature. Somes says when the air is humid, you can see snow forming around his body. Stalker a bit aggresive, most at the stable try to avoid him. He hates the company of other horses, but somewhat friendly with Khaan and Mortifa. Katja got him thanks her excellent scheme. But the poor girl almost find out she not got any money during the exchange, but Mr. Sands helped her out, but asked for a favour.

Mortifa, a black Belgian warmblood with a pure white face and soulles blue eyes. She has a poor eyesight, but has a really high agility. Somes said, when you are too close to her you start to feel sick. Laverne got her, when he was 12, her breeder wanted to eutanasy the foal, but he saved Mortifa. Since then she lives at the jorvik stables and has a good friendship with Khaan and Stalker.

So as I said before, Jessica hates horses. They just don't understand why there is a whole ass island where the citizens are obssessed with horses. She times to times goes to see the racies Sabine attend at also go to cheer for Katja or Laverne. She one time tried to ride a horse, but freaked out.

And lastly here is Mr. Sands and his steel gray English Thoroughbred. The PineHill mansion has a huge stable, with multiple horses, but when he go out to ride he mostly ride this old lady. There is an empty stall with a damaged name plate. The older stable workers know, there used to be a blue roan horse with white tiped mane. No one knows what breed she was, but know she and Mr. Sands had a really close bond. But he lost his horse like he lost his family...
