Stew was really good 😋💕
We used those mini potatoes this time (halved or quartered) in an effort to save me some energy, and thank god sggdgdgdgd. They're so soft and tender but the skin makes it have almost a snap to it? And I put in so many carrots, but I cut them into small pieces and that seems to work best (easier to get on a spoon). The meat is so fall apart tender 🤤
My body still feels super fucking exhausted and in pain, but my soul feels restored a bit agdggdgdgd

The Pillsbury A-Mill is a former flour mill located on the east bank of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It held the distinction of being the world's largest flour mill for 40 years. Completed in 1881, it was owned by the Pillsbury Company and operated two of the most powerful direct-drive waterwheels ever built, each capable of generating 1,200 horsepower (895 kW). The mill was named a National Historic Landmark in 1966 and has since been converted into resident artist lofts. The best breakfast is this. Get yourself a bowl and put (good) biscuits in there. Put also grits, eggs however you like, sawmill gravy, and bacon or sausage if you feel so inclined. And just mix it all up. Yummy.

La Pina Farine is discontinued | Pillsbury Bread Flour is a very similar product.
https://tastecooking.com/today-is-the-day-to-make-a-flour-tortilla/
As a test, I made Garcia’s recipe with warm tap water (about 100°F), with the hottest tap water I could get (around 130°F), and with water just off the boil (around 200°F). With the tap waters, the dough took longer to come together and had some snapback when I rolled it out, and thus stayed a touch thicker. The tortillas also had a little more chew.
But with the almost boiling water? The dough is immediately soft, supple, and smooth. It rolls out thin like a champ, browns beautifully on the griddle, and stays soft when it cools. In truth, it feels like cheating.
Perhaps my tortillas have a little less complexity, texture-wise, than those of Sonoran-style perfectionists. But now I can make really good flour tortillas fast enough at home that I can have them ANYTIME I WANT—which, naturally, is always.

Cinnamon Roll French Toast Casserole
Ingredients:
2 cans 12.4 oz each Pillsbury cinnamon rolls
1/4 cup butter melted
2 eggs
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
2 tbsp flour
3 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
Icing from cinnamon rolls
Powdered sugar or maple syrup if desired
Instructions:
Melt butter and coat a 9×12 baking dish with the melted butter (There will be extra, that’s OK)
In a bowl, beat together eggs, cream, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla.
Open canned cinnamon rolls, slice each cinnamon roll like a pizza, into eighths. Place cinnamon roll pieces into the bowl of egg mixture and toss to thoroughly coat.
Then pour the pieces, coated in egg mixture, into the greased baking dish and spread out evenly.
Any remaining egg mixture, you can pour or brush over top of areas that look like they might get dry. Sprinkle with pecans (optional)
Bake in the oven at 350˚for 18-25 minutes or until light golden brown. Smaller, deeper pans may require additional bake time.
Type of cinnamon rolls used can also vary cook time. Best to keep an eye on things and check one of the middle pieces to be sure dough is set before removing from oven.
When all dough is set, remove the french toast bake from oven. Warm icing from cinnamon rolls in microwave for 15 seconds; pour evenly over cinnamon roll pieces.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar or top with maple syrup if desired.
Serve warm. Enjoy!

When I was a kid, my family would occasionally start Saturday mornings off with a treat that every little girl with a sweet tooth dreams of: Pillsbury Grands cinnamon rolls. They were ooey and gooey and messy topped with a cream cheese icing that rivaled Cinnabon any day of the week. I could’ve eaten a dozen if left to my own devices.
As I’ve gotten older, the magic of a can of cinnamon rolls has faded a little. These days, I prefer to make my own, tweaking the traditional recipe to combine this childhood treat with one of my favorite Jewish bakes. Enter: Babka Cinnamon Rolls.
This recipe takes a traditional brown sugar-cinnamon babka and turns it into pure decadence by condensing the standard loaf into single-serving brioche rolls and topping them with a cream cheese icing. Different from the cinnamon rolls you may be used to, this dough isn’t as sweet and includes ribbons of buttery brown sugar and cinnamon layered throughout.
You can use bread flour or all-purpose flour to make the babka dough, though I prefer bread flour because it has a higher protein content and leaves the rolls fluffier and chewier.
These rolls are not complicated to make, but need to proof/rest three times, for a total of three hours. The first, and longest, proof is two hours, so plan your day accordingly!
This recipe yields four big, generous cinnamon rolls that perhaps should technically feed more than one person each, but that you’ll probably eat all by yourself (and enjoy every bite). They are the perfect breakfast pastry  – after all, how bad can a day be when it starts with one of these?
If, for whatever reason, you’re not able to finish them all at once, you can store the baked rolls in the fridge for up to three days. Just pop them in the microwave for 20-30 seconds to warm them back up before digging in.

What a ripoff, last year’s winner also received $50,000. That 1949 prize is equivalent to more than $600,000 in today’s money. Shame on you Pillsbury.

LET THEM COOK!
Tumblr media
tw: none! just pure fluff :]
pairings: task force 141 x gn!reader (can be either platonic or romantic)
summary: cooking with tf-141 heacanons :3
characters: simon "ghost" riley, john "soap" mactavish, john price, kyle "gaz" garrick, and gary "roach" sanderson
notes: first batch of headcanons yurrrr 🗣️‼️💯 (sorry if they're a bit ooc im abt to eep :P)
Tumblr media
john price
he's a cook from the heart type of guy and it always turns out (surprisingly) really good
most of the recipes he has memorized are probably comfort meals or hangover cures
this man is so well meaning, standing behind you and helping you with every damn thing no matter how small the task. he does the thing where he holds your hand when you're chopping anything with a knife or stirring and guides you. it gets a bit overbearing but he's trying his to help
probably acts like you have never seen an oven/stovetop before and is constantly reminding you its hot as if thats not the whole point of it
he likes playing music while he cooks with you (most likely a shared playlist between the both of you) he likes humming along to it and he likes it even more when he can hear you hum along with him
the meal he defaults to making with you is probably chicken pot pie that tastes just like home
kyle "gaz" garrick
this man can BAKE. cake? muffins? cookies? he's got a recipe for it and you bet your ass its a damn good recipe.
he probably enjoys having the great british bake off in the background while he cooks
out of all the guys in TF-141, gaz is probably the one you should trust the most in there with you. when its the two of you in the kitchen not only do you get things done efficiently, it ends up being super fun with minimal chaos!
you definitely made each other those super cute lunchbox cakes for each other at one point
as much as he loves trying new recipes with you, making strawberry rhubarb pie from scratch with you is one he will always default to. he prefers his slice with a side of whipped cream <3
john "soap" mactavish
i dont think any of the guys are completely incompetent in the kitchen, when left alone in a kitchen soap could probably make a pretty good meal. emphasis on him alone in the kitchen
but when it is you two in the kitchen it will take a lot longer than expected or go to shit (but will still be edible!)
gets into flour fights with you even if the recipe doesn't call for any. he just grabs it out the pantry and WHAPOW it looks like the pillsbury dough boy just fucking exploded
he also keeps eating things he's not supposed to. raw cookie dough, batter, straight up flour, etc he probably took a bite or two for "taste testing purposes" of course. he's lucky he's got an iron stomach because if his immune system was even the tiniest bit weaker food poisoning would be beating his ass
one thing that you would enjoy making together would probably be crème brûlée. of course he get the honors of the little blowtorch part but you could get away with doing a few if you ask very nicely
gary "roach" sanderson
he takes the smaller tasks like chopping things up, washing fruits and veggies, or keeping the countertops organized and he does a really good job at whatever small task you give him
ask him to slice something up for you and trust they will be in the most perfect even slices you have ever seen in your life
if you're baking together he would love watching whatever delicious creation you made together rise in the oven. he likes just sitting criss cross applesauce on the floor, feeling the warmth radiating from the oven as he watches the baked goods cook. the first time he did this you didn't realize he was just sitting on the floor so you tripped over him
your go-to thing to make together is definitely chocolate chip cookies. roach likes putting small designs on top with chocolate chips like hearts, smiley faces, or just cuss words because he's silly like that
they come out really good but if you share with someone else make sure you don't hand them one that says "dick" in all capital letters
simon "ghost" riley
he has all the measurements with him and a scale to measure ingredients so you think he's precise and it will be all fine right? wrong. sure he measures his ingredients but if he goes over he probably doesn't try to fix it. ghost is the type of guy to shrug it off and adds it to the bowl anyways. to him measurements are suggestions
this bitch doesnt level his measuring cups
this usually goes well for cooking but for baking not so much
has forgotten to add in seasonings on a number of occasions so right before you put it in the oven you have to do a whole checklist to make sure that everything that should be in there is actually in there
favorite thing to make together is probably pesto pasta. most of it is measured by heart which he definitely appreciates and also less dishes to wash!

Pumpkin Cheesecake Cinnamon Rolls Ingredients: 2 cans Pillsbury cinnamon rolls (5-cinnamon roll packs) 1/2 stick butter, softened (for greasing the pan) Pumpkin Cheesecake Filling: 1 block (8 oz) cream cheese, softened 2/3 cup pumpkin puree, well strained of liquid 6 tbsp brown sugar 1 large egg, at room temperature 1 tsp vanilla extract 2 tsp all-purpose flour 3/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice Streusel Topping: 1/2 cup plus 1 tbsp all-purpose flour 1/2 cup brown sugar 6 tbsp cold butter, cut into cubes Pumpkin Spice Icing Glaze: 1/4 cup melted butter 1 cup powdered sugar 2 tbsp milk 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 3/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice Directions: Preheat Oven and Prep Pan: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Generously grease each cavity of a muffin pan with softened butter to prevent sticking. Make the Pumpkin Cheesecake Filling: In a large bowl, combine the cream cheese, pumpkin puree, brown sugar, egg, vanilla, flour, and pumpkin pie spice. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and free of clumps. Set aside. Prepare the Streusel Topping: In a separate bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, and pumpkin pie spice. Cut in the cold butter cubes using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles small sandy clumps. Set aside. Assemble the Cinnamon Roll Muffins: Place one cinnamon roll in each muffin cavity, pressing it to fit the base and up the sides to create a well. Spoon 1-2 tablespoons of the pumpkin cheesecake filling into each cinnamon roll well. Top with Streusel: Generously sprinkle the streusel topping over each cinnamon roll muffin, covering most of the surface. Bake: Lightly cover the muffin pan with aluminum foil. Bake for a total of 15-20 minutes, removing the foil halfway through. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cheesecake filling comes out clean. If the tops begin to brown too quickly, cover with foil again. Make the Icing: While the cinnamon rolls bake, make the pumpkin spice icing. In a medium bowl, combine melted butter, powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and pumpkin pie spice. Whisk until smooth. Cool and Drizzle: Let the cinnamon rolls cool for at least 15 minutes in the pan. Once cooled, drizzle with the pumpkin spice icing. Serve and enjoy! Prep Time: 20 minutes Baking Time: 20 minutes Total Time: 40 minutes Kcal: 350 kcal per roll Servings: 10 rolls These Pumpkin Cheesecake Cinnamon Rolls combine everything we love about fall into a single indulgent bite. Each muffin-style roll is perfectly portioned and packed with seasonal spices, making them a favorite for fall gatherings and cozy celebrations.

I think I've found the wildest piece of music history in existence. So I went to a audio/visual store today, and they had vintage cassettes, and I was amazed to find a Travelling Wilburys one. The Travelling Wilburys were a musical supergroup consisting of Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty. (I've linked their most popular songs, just in case you're not sure who they are.) So I was very excited to add it to my collection. (Side note: it plays great.) Upon opening it up this evening, I was looking at the inside pamphlet, you know, the kind that has designs and track lists and such. And I found an incredible piece of fake lore for the band, which I have typed out (CW for brief racial stereotype):
“The etymological origins of The Traveling Wilburys have aroused something of a controversy amongst academic circles. Did they, as Professor “BOBBY” Sinfield believes, originate from the various Wilbury Fairs which travelled Europe in Medieval times, titillating the populace with contemporary ballads, or rather, were they rather derived from “YE TRAVELLING WILLYBURYS”, who were popular locksmiths during the Crusades used to picking or unlocking jammed chastity belts (rather like today’s emergency plumbers.) Dr. Arthur Noseputty of Cambridge believes they were closely related to the Strangling Dingleberries, which is not a Group but a disease, an unpleasant form of crotch-rot; arguing that a “WILLBERRY” is often used as an expression for a piece of crud found in the crevice of an ancient pair of y-fronts; but I think this can be discounted, not only because of his silly name but also from his habit of impersonating Ethel Merman during lectures. Some have even gone on to suggest tenuous links with the Pillsburys, the group who invented Flour Power. Dim Sun, a Chinese academic, argues that they may be related to “THE STROLLING TILBURYS”, Queen Elizabeth the first’s favourite minstrels, and backs this suspicion with the observation that The Travelling Wilburys is an obvious anagram of “V. BURYING WILL’S THEATRE”, clearly a reference to the closing of Shakespeare’s Globe theatre by Villiers during an outbreak of plague. This would account for the constant travelling. Indeed, many victims of plague and St. Vitus’ dance literally danced themselves to death, and it is this dancing theme that resurfaces with The Wilbury Twist. Not a cocktail but a dance craze, reminiscent of The Wilbury Quadrille made famous at Bath in 1790 by Beau Diddley, and the Wilbury Waltz, which swept Vienna in the 1890’s. One thing, however, remains certain. The circumambulatory peregrinations of these itinerant mundivagrant peripatetic nomads has already disgorged one collection of popular lyrical cantata, which happily encapsulated their dithyrambic antiphonic contrapuntal threnodies as a satisfactory auricular experience for the hedonistic gratification of the hoi polloi on a popular epigraphically inscribed gramophonic recording. Now here’s another one. Tiny Hampton (Professor “TINY” Hampton is currently leading the search for Intelligent Life amongst Rock Journalism, at the University of Please Yourself, California.)"
(I've included links that might help contextualize the jokes/puns/references that I could pick up on.)
HELLO?????? WHICH ONE OF THEM WROTE THIS I NEED TO KNOW
And APPARENTLY, they all had Wilbury personas.
And BEST OF ALL, they named their SECOND ALBUM (which this is pulled from), "VOL. 3". IM WHEEZING.
