Sooo, have you heard of Call Ducks? Because I just learned about Call Ducks. They are very small ducks that were bred to have a loud call in order for hunters to draw in other ducks. They are little bitty bait. (Also, so fucking adorable)

Anyways, AU time! Where Technoblade is treated with less dignity than a Call Duck!

Technoblade is an avian. A very small avian, true, and his claws aren't nearly as impressive as the stuffed hands that His Hunters keep as trophies. His Hunters treat him so well. He has a roof over his head, unlike wild avians. He has his delicious pellet food, unlike wild avians. He has a single blanket all for himself! Truly, he is lucky to be among His Hunters.

If he is REALLY good, they even pat him on the head. One of the Hunter's neices even called him cute once! Sure, she had pulled at his feathers, but-

All he has to do is sit alone in the woods and cry.

It's really easy! Most of the time, anyway. He's gotten good at crying on command. At first, he preferred to be quiet. There was already so much noise and he didn't want to be seen by Predators. But the Hunters were nice enough to teach him how to cry! Even if the pinching and slapping had hurt at the time. Now he's got it down! They only occasionally have to twist his wing to bring on the waterworks.

Then, it stops working.

He didn't do anything different. It had always worked before! But suddenly, no other Avians are falling for it! Even when they move to a different area, no luck! It has been a while since the hunters have seen so much as a FEATHER of other avians.

And Technoblade, well, he notices that things feel OFF. The hunters look at him with less patience. There is something disapproving in their gaze. Their words are harsher. They twist his arm harder and make his cries turn into screams. His throat feels raw from his desperate yells.

It doesn't work.

Technoblade feels like he is always only a moment from crying, but His Hunters don't want to hear it when he isn't working. So he curls up in his coop with his blanket and tries to sob quietly. It's hard to muffle the sound in the hay, but he lets himself indulge in his misery, if only a little while.

There is shouting happening in His Hunters' house, anyway. Arguing. Blaming. Pointed fingers and getting into each other's faces. It might even come to blows again.

Technoblade doesn't want to be anywhere near that. He doesn't want them to turn their anger on him. Again.

The angry shouts turn to fearful shrieks. Guns start to fire. Technoblade huddles in the back of the coop. Confused. Hidden. Scared.

Then it's silent. So quiet. Then, a heavy thud outside the coop. He hears the lock break, and the door slowly opens while Techno watches wide-eyed.

The BIGGEST avian that Technoblade has ever seen is standing in the door, blocking out the sunset.

Phil coos over the TINIEST avian he had ever seen. Kristin was right. He was so SMALL. Phil tries to convince him to come closer, but Technoblade doesn't move. He just yells for help, crying for help legitimately this time. Phil flinches, before just reaching closer and picking him up. He is so small that it is EASY. He's a child, yes, but also TINY. Phil hold him close and tries to calm him down as he flies back to the Nest and leaves the corpses of hunters for the worms.

Anyways, Call Ducks are cool. I want one.

I need Techno to be so small that he fits in Phil's hands cupped together. Just like, huge ass avian. I'm talking 9 feet monstrosity. And Techno who is tiny tiny. As he becomes an adult, he grows a little but not much and Phil can still lift him by the back of his shirt one-handed.

3) when they get out will they split up as in canon? Did everything before the prison happen as in canon or is the reason he's in the prison different? yeah, this is actually a thing i've had in my head for awhile! that while some people can be weird about hybrids, they're generally seen as mostly.... people. not really human but a sort of person. techno himself tends to lean more towards Not A Person since he has fewer human features than like, say c!tubbo with his goat horns. c!ranboo would also be considered that.

dream in this au has very few human features except for a general shape so people are quick to label him as not human or a monster.

he has a bit of... 'armoring' on his spine, i guess? i pulled from dinosaurs and the existence of shulkers and sniffers. so there's some plating that covers his spine. it almost looks like white-ish rocks poking out from moss because there's a layer of green fur covering his back.

3) when they get out will they split up as in canon? Did everything before the prison happen as in canon or is the reason he's in the prison different? (Is it because they found out what he looked like and got scared?)(Did they have an easier time seeing him as a horrible person when they found out he wasn't human?)

dream is pretty insistent on going through with his plan to split up when techno leaves the prison. but that never actually happens because after techno disappears, sam ends up getting paranoid about the whole thing and doesn't want to lose his 'research subject' in dream so the rescue goes down a lot differently.

and yeah, one of them is the fact it's a LOT easier to vilify and hate dream because he's just.... creepy and weird to others. he can turn his head much like an owl, for example. he also has an insane vertical jump range and can cover a pretty wide distance in a leap (it's the rabbit legs/feet). people find him frightening and that colors things.

4) with how thin and long Dreams limbs are is he able to move himself in ways that are not quite right? Is he able to get into too tight spaces? (Is he fun to cuddle?)

continuing from above, yes! he tends to move in ways that read as strange or not right. he's done his best to hide that, though. as soon as he realizes how weird he comes off, dream tries to change how he moves to be more 'normal'

also, he IS fun to cuddle. everyone thinks techno is nuts for that but techno likes cuddling dream. there's something kind of sweet about the way dream wraps around him, like he never wants to let techno go. it's adorable as far as techno is concerned and just. makes him feel really wanted, y'know?

5) when Phil sees what happened to Dreams wings, how will he react? What will he do?

i think phil sympathizes. he didn't lose his wings fully like dream did and can't really imagine what that'd be like but he did lose his ability to fly and it's kind of hard not to feel bad for dream in that moment.

at first, though, he doesn't really do anything. he's skeptical about dream and really only putting up with him because of techno. that does change once he gets to know dream.

6) How do the other members of the syndicate react to Dream? Both how he looks but also what happened to him?

because techno and ranboo both veer closer to 'not human', the syndicate takes his appearance pretty much in stride. it's not really what they expected (though ranboo isn't surprised by the sharp teeth) but they don't judge him, really.

and whatever they might think about dream, no one deserves to be tortured.

7) does Dream have any weakness from his species? Like how endermen gets hurt by water? Or a species bonus? Like how blazes are immune to fire damage?

not really, to be honest. he can jump pretty well, he can see well. his tail is prehensile so that gives him so abilities that most people don't have.

i think regulating his body temperature in the prison gets difficult, though. he doesn't sweat like a typical person and with the heat from the lava and the cold from the obsidian, he definitely struggles a lot.

8) Does his species have a name? Is he the only one? Will he ever meet others of his species?

i've been wavering on this, honestly.

i do think he's the only one, though. but this is one of those things i don't have a solid backstory for yet. part of me wants to play with dreamXD and admins on servers.

9) what will happen to Sam and Quackity when everything is over? What punishment will they get :)?

they'll get what's coming to them.

the more that's revealed of what they did to dream in the prison, the angrier that techno gets. there was torture, yeah, but there was also a lot of experimenting. techno finds dream after he leaves the prison in sam's research lab which is like. hey! he's not being tortured i guess but it's absolutely terrible.

10) What are Dreams relations with his old friends? Did they know what he was before?

they knew, yeah! but they're not..... it's difficult. there's a pretty big divide between them now and it's not exactly something that's repairable, y'know? not for lack of wanting on all their parts. sometimes that's just how it is and that's the tragedy.

ANALYSIS

major arcana cards show up for major/impactful life events or important moments in time. pentacles (earth) shows up for everything tangible and material, wands (fire) shows up for action, passion, creative spark. swords (air) shows up for matters of the mind/grief & pain/clarity/ideas/communication. and cups (water) is less present, but is tied to matters of the heart/intuition/connection with others.

when looking at the suit composition of this reading, it's clear that something big is coming. and it's not internal; this is communicative action driven by passion enacted in the "real world", likely in the context of community. fire + air can be a dangerous duo, spreading extremely rapidly, but this is anchored by the steady & deliberate nature of earth.

the increase in air cards makes sense to me with dan and phil both being triplicate air signs & the increasing amount of thought and anticipation being directed at the situation by phannies.

i can't see anything but a hard launch and a wedding (to be legally bound to another person is SO material) fitting those parameters, and i think that once again this is following dan's pace. though, this time i think due to the need he had to self-actualize with creative endeavors separately from phil—those pursuits are now drawing to a close.

Pissa Headcanon Post #2

1) Phil wakes up the next day after their reunion next to Missa in their bed. Missa still sleeping and Phil is just amazed and smitten that Missa is finally back. That he can’t help smiling to himself as he gently caresses Missa cheek and chastely kisses him awake. Bad morning breath be damned.

2) Missa has surprisedly strong opinions about wings. And of course he has a favorite and that is obviously his husbands. Missa being Missa will plainly say how gorgeous the wings are. Which just makes phil bird brain preen. Because I like to imagine avians are very vain about their wings.

3) The days after Missa returns Chayanne will wake up and enter his dads room to force himself into cuddling with them both. Anytime this happens Missa who always cuddles with Philza immediately always cuddles with his son.

4) Chayanne and Philza both have a non serious rivalry when it comes to who gets attention/affection from Missa. Both adore and love Missa the way he is. If only Missa wasn’t blinded by self doubt he would see that as well. Chayanne usually wins these battles because he inherited Missa puppy eyes.

5) Philza always has a camera on hand and after Missa returns. Has loads of Missa being adorable. He just doesn’t show others the Missa album because he has a reputation to maintain.

6) Everyone that wasn’t there at the adoption have this image of Chayanne being mature, independent, and self reliant. Only to see when Missa comes home Chayanne to go full papas boy. Chayanne would demand uppies and cuddles and just in general being happy to just play with missa.

7) When Missa came home and finally cooked the family a meal. Chayanne almost cried. Missa is where Chayanne got his love of cooking from after all. Chayanne definitely has “Papas cooking is better than anyone elses” disease. Chayanne definitely has a favorite dad. And it isn’t Phil.

8) As two death aligned beings Phil and Missa can both sense their specific energies. Philza mainly uses it to save Missa from danger. Both Phil and Missa have different types of energies. Phil is closest to like the actual void in the end while Missa is more closest to soul fire.

9) Chayanne after Papa Missa came home. He has no tolerance for anyone trying to flirt with his dads. He will literally write things like “I’m gonna tell papa/dad” or “I’m watching you” or “Missa loves dad Phil are you blind?” Or “Dad Philza literally kissed papa Missa good morning.”

10) Philza sometimes just kisses Missa to shut him up. Especially if Missa was saying bad things about himself or overly apologizing. It literally never fails to make poor Missa to blue screen.

11) Philza usually most of the time looks calm and collected but whenever he’s with Missa. His brain is just screaming how much he loves Missa and omg how can such a adorable man exist- (his face never changes)

12) Missa immediately accepts Tallulah as his own and they both like to garden together. Tallulah definitely made Missa a flower crown out of poppies.
