Nothing really “defined the year”... I mean, I started watching Dan and Phil if that counts as a “webisode” and that has certainly defined the last half of 2019 for me.

Alas I only play iOS games anymore, but there’s this mini golf game I’m currently obsessed with.

Best month for you this year?

Hmm. Well, I’m a teacher so I have July and August off and I basically did nothing but consume Dan and Phil content 24/7, which was pretty awesome. So. That?  I applied and competed for a sought-after job in May and got it (over some very well-credentialed people), which was a personal accomplishment for sure.

Something that made you cry this year?

Lots of things. 2019 was a tough year irl.  Lost my aunt in March, my grandma in September. Found out my dad has lung cancer and my mom has COPD. My other aunt has breast cancer (surgery in November). So.

Something you want to do again next year?

I want to go back to Japan, I think (I was last there in 2010). Or at least do some travelling in the summer.

How was your birthday this year?

It was fine, but it wasn’t long after I lost my Grandma (she was 101).

Favorite book you read this year?

Catch and Kill by Ronan Farrow. My Life as a Goddess by Guy Branum was also really good. Two completely different books by two completely different gay men lol. I also, of course, read The Amazing Book is Not on Fire and Dan and Phil Go Outside, which I know aren’t from this year, but brought me much joy all the same. Gay men all around.

What’s a bad habit you picked up this year?

I’ve started to use a few Brit phrases irl because I’m watching so much Dan and Phil? Yikes. I said “takeaway” the other day. Girl.

What’re you excited about for next year?

Um, being off in the summer? lol

What’s something you learned this year?

What’s something new about your place of residence (room, home, or general location) now vs the start of the year?

uh i maaaaay have a dan and phil mini display shrine thing in my living room. which is fine and totally normal and appropriate for an adult, etc.

Favorite place you visited this year?

I didn’t travel much this year, but I did take a trip to Minnesota with some fandom friends (not dan and phil) and we stayed in a beautiful lakehouse and had a great time.
