Lionesses Cub (England Womens and Mens imagine) Gender Neutral Reader
The moment had arrived when F/N's teammates decided it was time to let them in on a little secret. that the Lionesses had a tendency to "baby" them from time to time. It had been a source of amusement among the team and they couldn't resist spilling the beans.
One evening, while the teams was gathered in their hotel room, Rice, Grealish, Foden and Pickford sat F/N down for a serious discussion, or so it seemed. They all wore exaggerated, stern expressions that F/N couldn't help but find suspicious.
"F/N" Declan Rice began, his voice grave, "there's something we need to talk to you about."
F/N raised an eyebrow, glancing around at their friends. "What's going on?"
Jack Grealish leaned forward, placing a hand on F/N's shoulder for dramatic effect. "You see, mate, we've noticed something... peculiar."
Phil Foden chimed in with an equally serious tone. "It's about the Lionesses, F/N. They seem to have a soft spot for you."
Jordan Pickford nodded gravely. "A very, very soft spot."
F/N's confusion deepened. "Soft spot? What are you guys talking about?"
Declan Rice cleared his throat and then began to recount some rather amusing incidents involving the Lionesses. "Remember that time Bronze tied your shoelaces during practice?"
*FLASHBACK*
"Oi, F/N," she called, her voice carrying across the field.
F/N looked up, Their brow furrowing in confusion. "Yeah, Lucy?"
Lucy, not one to beat around the bush, simply bent down and began to tie F/N's shoelaces, Much to F/N's confused face
"Lucy, I've got it," F/N protested, trying to pull their foot away, but Lucy's grip was firm.
"Nonsense," she replied playfully slapping their boot to signal stop moving. "We can't have you tripping over your own shoelaces, can we? Safety first, mate."
The male players couldn't help but watch the spectacle, their amusement growing with each passing moment. F/N's protests grew more and more comical as they tried to wriggle out of Lucy's grasp.
"Lucy, seriously, I can tie my own shoelaces," They insisted, but Lucy was having none of it.
"There you go," she declared triumphantly, having successfully tied a perfect knot. She gave Jack's boot a playful pat. "All done. You're welcome." Lucy said with a smile and ran back on the pitch
F/N sighed in disbelief , realizing that there was no arguing with Lucy's determined instincts.
*FLASHBACK END*
F/N's eyes widened in realization. "...........that was one time.......well she still does it" they looked down scratching the back of their head
Jack Grealish couldn't contain his laughter. "And what about when Millie Bright offered to carry your bags after training because they looked heavy?"
*FLASHBACK*
"Oi, F/N," she called out, her voice carrying across the hallway. "Need a hand with that?"
F/N, determined to prove that they could handle their bag on their own, shook their head vigorously. "Nah, I've got it Millie. Thanks though."
But Millie was having none of it. Ignoring F/N's protest, she strolled over to them, a confident grin on her face. she grabbed the heavy bag, hoisted it onto her shoulder and began to carry it up the stairs with ease.
F/N stood there, their mouth agape, watching in awe as Millie Bright effortlessly managed what they had struggled with just moments ago. Rachel Daly who was walking with Bright couldn't help but chuckle at the sight.
But Millie wasn't finished. Once she had deposited F/N's bag at the top of the stairs, she turned back to him with a mischievous glint in her eye.
"Alright, F/N, hop on!" she declared.
F/N, baffled and unsure of what she meant, "Hop on what?"
Without Warning, Rachel lightly pushed F/N into Millie who simply crouched down and pick them up onto her shoulders into a firemens carry
F/N's eyes widened in disbelief. "You've got to be joking!" They said turning red in the cheeks as Millie walked up the stars
As they reached the top of the stairs, Jack Grealish, who had been nursing a hangover in a nearby room and had wandered out to see what the commotion was about, stood there, wide-eyed and utterly baffled by the sight before him.
He rubbed his eyes, thinking he must be seeing things due to the remnants of his hangover. Without a word, he turned on his heel and quietly slipped away, leaving the scene behind.
*FLASHBACK END*
F/N covered thier face "She didnt put me down till we got to my hotel room door"
Phil Foden added with a grin, "Or when Hemp gave you THAT pep talk?"
*FLASHBACK*
"F/N" F/N who was sitting at a pub watching a game turned to see Lauren Hemp. her tone filled with the conviction of a big sister, "you've got this. You just need to walk up to them, look them in the eye and be confident."
F/N, slightly bewildered by Lauren's words, furrowed their brow. "Huh? What are you talking about, Lauren?"
Lauren leaned in closer, giving F/N an encouraging nod. "Don't be shy, F/N. Just go for it. We're all here to support you."
Y/N, still a bit perplexed, glanced back at the television screen and then back at Lauren. "Are you ok?, Lauren? I'm just watching the match."
Lauren, not one to back down, was convinced she had caught Y/n in the act of asking out a stranger. "Come on, Y/N! Life's too short. Ask them out!"
F/N's confusion deepened, but before they could explain that they was not interested in anyone at the bar, Lauren, with an encouraging pat on the back, said, "You've got this. Just be yourself."
With that, Lauren Hemp left the pub, leaving a bemused F/N and a chuckling Phil Foden in her wake.
F/N turned to Foden with an incredulous expression. "Did she just...?"
Foden burst into laughter, shaking his head. "I think she thought you were about to make a move on someone at the bar, mate."
*FLASHBACKEND *
Jordan Pickford chuckled. "And let's not forget Mary , who made you a cup of tea and said you needed to relax after a tough match."
*FLASHBACK*
"F/N, you look like you could use a pick me up. How about a nice cup of tea?"
F/N, always appreciative of a comforting cuppa, nodded gratefully. "That sounds perfect, Mary. Thanks."
Mary bustled about, preparing a cup of tea with precision and care. handed the steaming cup to F/N, but she leaned in with a whisper.
"F/N, I have to give you a piece of advice," she began, her tone serious.
F/N raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "What's that?"
Mary's expression grew solemn as she leaned in closer. "Promise me, you'll never, ever drink Lipton tea."
F/N blinked in surprise. Lipton tea? It wasn't their favourite brand anyway, but Mary's dramatic warning piqued his curiosity.
"Why not, Mary?" they asked, playing along.
"Because it's just not proper tea, F/N. You deserve better."
F/N couldn't help but burst into laughter at Mary's playful theatrics. "Don't worry, Mary, I'll steer clear of Lipton. I wouldn't want to offend the tea gods."
Mary grinned, satisfied with her mission accomplished. "That's the spirit, F/N. Stick to the good stuff."
*FLASHBACK END*
As the stories continued to flow, F/N's face shifted from confusion to a mix of embarrassment and amusement. They couldn't believe they had never noticed these "babying" moments from the Lionesses before.
"You guys are having a laugh, right? Has Jack been on a pub crawl with you guys again?" F/N said, realizing and trying to deny that they had been on the receiving end of some well-intentioned but sometimes humorous acts of care from their female counterparts.
The room erupted in laughter as their friends confirmed the truth of their stories. "Mate, you're like the Lionesses' little Sibling!" Grealish exclaimed, still chuckling.
F/N couldn't help but think of all the moments they didn't mention. "Well, I guess I never really noticed. They ain't that bad, are they?"
The next day, during the joint training session where both the men's and women's teams were on the field together, F/N couldn't help but notice the subtle instances of "babying" from the Lionesses. It seemed like their friends had opened their eyes to something they had been blissfully oblivious to.
As they stretched before practice, Lucy Bronze offered them a water bottle and reminded them to stay hydrated and double checked to see if F/N shoelaces were tied, earning F/N a playful jab from Harry Kane who basically said "see" with his facial expression. Millie Bright flashed them a knowing smile when she saw them tying his shoelaces and Lauren Hemp couldn't resist giving them a thumbs-up from across the field when he put on yellow bip on.
During drills, The team had some free time to do a game and F/N swapped places with Ramsdale letting F/N go in goal. Mary Earps called out encouragement to them as they made a save, her words carrying across the field. The rest of the women's team were equally supportive, offering F/N high-fives and words of encouragement that were just a tad more enthusiastic than usual.
After a gruelling training session, as the players gathered to cool down and chat, F/N found himself surrounded by the Lionesses, each offering their own version of friendly advice and care.
"F/N, don't forget to ice that ankle!" Lauren Hemp said with a grin.
Lucy Bronze patted them on the back and said, "You were amazing out there today, young one."
Millie Bright chimed in, "Make sure you eat a good meal, F/N. We don't want you getting too tired."
Mary Earps gave them a wink. "And get a good night's sleep, alright? No late-night gaming sessions."
F/N couldn't help but laugh at the attention they were receiving. "Alright, alright, I get it! I'll take care of myself."
Sterling: "This is mad"
F/N male friends, who had been observing the interactions, couldn't resist but watch the lionesses surround F/N.
Sancho: "Yeah its like F/N is their child"
The group watched as F/N made eye contact with them and made a face saying help me. To which the group of Sterling, Sancho, Jack, Foden and Saka turned thier backs leaving a betrayed look on F/N's face
Saka: "You guys are never gonna let them hear the end of this are you?"
Grealish: "You are correct, The young cub needs to learn" Jack said in a playful voice as Foden gasped
Foden: "Oh my days. F/N is the lionesses's cub" The group laughed at the new nickname and the accuracy of the name
Throughout the day, the nickname "the Lionesses cub" stuck and spread to all the male footballers and staff even Serena Wiegman was told by Southgate. The men couldn't wait to announce the name to F/N
Later a team meeting was held in a spacious conference room and it was a special occasion where both the men's and women's teams were gathered together. Gareth Southgate and Serena Wiegman, the respective managers were present.
As the meeting progressed, the topic of team dynamics and bonding was discussed. Serena Wiegman, with a twinkle in her eye took a moment to address the combined group.
"Before we continue," Serena began, "I think it's important to recognize the strong bonds that have formed between our teams. We've become more than just teammates; we're like a family."
Gareth Southgate nodded in agreement, acknowledging the sentiment. "Absolutely. Our collective spirit and support for each other are what make us stronger on and off the field."
Serena then turned her attention to F/N, who was sitting among their male teammates. "Speaking of which, I believe there's a certain matter we need to address."
All eyes turned to F/N, who looked genuinely terrified as both teams starred at them but slightly curious. They had a sinking feeling that they were about to be the center of attention once again.
Serena smiled warmly at F/N. "L/N, it has come to our attention that you have a new nickname within the team, one that reflects the unique care and camaraderie we share."
Y/N: "this can't be good"
Gareth Southgate, who couldn't hide a grin, decided to spill the beans. "Y/N, from this day forward, you shall be known as 'the Lionesses' cub.'"
The room burst into laughter, and even Serena couldn't help but chuckle at the playful reaction. F/N, their face turning red and became frozen.
They hadn't expected the managers to join in on the teasing. The room erupted in laughter, both from the men and women players.
Alessia Russio and Toone exchanged a mischievous glance, clearly enjoying the moment. Lucy Bronze couldn't help but grin, and Millie Bright covered her mouth to stifle a giggle. Mary Earps laughing as she thinks how this can be turned into a TikTok.
Later that night Alessia Russio and Toone sat together on the training field, "I mean, I could tie my own shoelaces, but Lucy was so adamant about it."
Russio nodded, laughing at Toone's comment. "I remember Lauren Hemp giving me a whole speech about confidence and pick up lines"
They both turned to see a rather unamused F/N in the distance. What caught their attention even more was the sight of Fran Kirby, standing on her tiptoes, holding a handheld fan to F/N's face, trying to cool him down.
THE END
Wanted to try something new and thought why not do something with both the lions and lionesses. i hope you guys enjoyed and if you want more let me know. feedback is always accpeted too

'Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies reveals that the series' new 60th-anniversary title sequence almost featured a moment involving David Tennant and Catherine Tate that was ultimately removed following a poor reception by the crew. Tennant and Tate returned to lead the milestone celebrations across three specials, as the Fourteenth Doctor and former companion Donna Noble cross paths once more. The 60th anniversary also saw Murray Gold return to compose the score, with the original revival composer arranging a new rendition of the Doctor Who iconic theme tune to go alongside a new title sequence.
In the BBC iPlayer commentary for Doctor Who's final 60th-anniversary special "The Giggle", Davies revealed that the series' new title sequence originally had an additional scene unlike what had been seen in previous sequences. Davies revealed that Tennant and Tate filmed a scene where the Doctor and Donna would peak outside of the TARDIS doors during its flight through the time vortex, with Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson's Fifteenth Doctor and Ruby Sunday also filming their own version for their debut, but a poor reception from the crew and former showrunner Steven Moffat would see the moment cut. Check out Davies' explanation below:
David Tennant: We filmed a bit to go in the title sequence. Talk us through it, producers.
Russell T Davies: Alright then.
Tennant: What happened there?
Davies: What do you think, Phil.
Phil Collinson: I think you should speak.
Davies: I think, I think I’m the only person that liked it!... We shot a sequence in the middle of this in the title sequence where David and Catherine hang out of the TARDIS doors, which then we shot it for Ncuti and Millie as well. Hanging out of the TARDIS with all the time vortex going past... Literally, it was like a war of attrition.
Collinson: Everyone who watched it, hated it.
Davies: Everyone just…. I loved it!
Collinson: I liked it! Do like it!
Davies: Enlighten me!
Collinson: I told you I liked it!
Davies: Eventually, it was Moffat who happened to see it.
Tennant: What’s he got anything to do with anything anymore?!
Davies: I play it to him, “Look, what a great big title sequence we’ve got.” He went “Oh that’s absolutely brilliant. Cut that shot.” Literally lethal. “Cut that shot.” I went, “Don’t you like that?.” “Cut that shot.” “But isn’t it…” “Cut that shot.”
Tennant: No debate?
Davies: No debate.
Collinson: No debate.
Doctor Who's New Title Sequence Are A Visually Stunning Update To The Intro
Doctor Who's title sequence has seen drastic evolutions ever since the first episode aired in November 1963. Beginning with Bernard Lodge's quick manipulation of television monitor "Howlaround" feedback to create the vortex, the classic series' titles would be colorized, have lead actor's portraits incorporated, and feature starfields and galaxies, drastically changing across each Doctor's era. The modern title sequence also evolved when the show returned in 2005, alternating between the TARDIS flying through various stylized vortexes across Christopher Eccleston, Tennant, and Matt Smith's eras, traveling through cogs and clocks throughout Peter Capaldi's era, and returning to visuals inspired by the original 1960s titles for Jodie Whittaker.
As such, Tennant's 60th-anniversary titles are a further evolution of Doctor Who's iconic sequence, as the TARDIS' new journey through a reimagined time vortex features colossal sweeping dimensions at a varied range of angles. While the sequence's more cinematic approach is a visual treat, the titles follow similar beats to the titles used throughout Davies' initial tenure, with the TARDIS traveling through one vortex, leaping into real space, and entering another vortex as the logo appears. As such, Doctor Who's latest title sequence is a surprising update.
While Doctor Who's new title sequence is an impressive rendition of the series' iconic opening, many viewers may be left wondering what the 60th-anniversaries' scrapped titles may have looked like. With Tennant and Tate and ultimately Gatwa and Gibson peering outside of the TARDIS, perhaps VFX renders could not do justice to capturing the TARDIS team's cameo throughout the vessel's flight. However, with Davies confirming Gatwa and Gibson filmed their own scene, the showrunner has seemingly confirmed that the incoming team will use the 60th-anniversary sequence in Doctor Who season 14 and beyond.'

We've had a go at setting one up - just got to wait for it to be manually okayed and set up by Tumblr staff now!
A Tumblr Community for The Bill...?
Is there any interest in creating a community for fans of The Bill to discuss and have more opportunities to interact/chat about the show almost like a forum from what it sounds like?
If you'd be interested, please like/comment/reblog this post to show your potential interest so we can all see if it would be worth attempting to create one or not.
Tumblr is beta testing a new 'community' idea [apparently not available to all as yet but should appear for most] that it says is:
Communities is a new feature in development, currently in beta testing. Our hope is to empower everyone on Tumblr to create new, dedicated spaces to connect with people over shared interests. It’s a bit like using tags but more contained, it’s a bit like having a shared blog but with more options, and it’s a bit like a group chat except it’s slower. Access to communities is not yet out to all users, and currently has incomplete support across the Tumblr mobile apps
Labs blog post
Help page post/more information
It's still in testing mode and they're asking for feedback. They state it can be a private group or more open access.
Public communities can be seen and visited by non-members, logged in or logged out. However, only the feed of posts in each community tab, and the About page, are accessible. Non-members cannot view the member list, see who reacted with what, or see community comments. Non-members with an invite can see everything a member can see, but cannot interact with anything until they accept the invitation.
Private communities cannot be seen or visited by non-members at all. The existence of a private community is not hidden, however, if someone has the URL (they’ll see a message like “this is a private community”). Non-members with an invite can see everything a member can see, but cannot interact with anything until they accept the invitation.
I wrote a tag list of every member of the cast including notable long running guests. It took FOREVER. And this is what Tumblr cuts it down to. FGS.

HYSTERIA! Reunites RE-ANIMATOR Duo Barbara Crampton and Jeffrey Combs
Surprise! The legendary genre pair turn up to add some ’80s cred to Peacock’s new Satanic Panic series.
BY
PHIL NOBILE JR.
OCTOBER 18, 2024 6:00 AM
By now you’re aware of Peacock’s Hysteria!, and that it features Bruce Campbell, who’s been promoted heavily in the marketing of the new show (which dropped today). But turns out he’s not the only genre icon appearing on the series.
Early viewers of Hysteria! have been excited to spot among its ensemble cast none other than Barbara Crampton and Jeffrey Combs, playing a bit against type as suburban parents. Speaking to FANGORIA, Crampton says that “showrunner/creator Matthew Scott Kane is a big Re-Animator fan, and it was his idea to reunite Jeff and myself for the first time since 1995!”
The duo have of course appeared in various unassailable horror classics over the years, beginning with Stuart Gordon’s aforementioned Re-Animator and its follow-up, From Beyond. Placing the pair in an ’80s-set, moral panic horror comedy made all the sense in the world to Kane.
“I'm a very devoted genre fan. All of Barbara and Jeff’s work with Stuart Gordon is so near and dear to my heart that, when these two roles came up, they were the first people that came to mind,” Kane says. “It was kind of a pipe dream. It was like, ‘Wouldn't it be nice if?’ I never thought they would pick up the phone.” To his surprise, the pair agreed, and their devotion to their relatively brief appearance surprised the showrunner.
“We all got dinner with each other, and Barbara and Jeffrey were asking me, ‘What's my motivation here?’ and ‘Here's what I'm thinking for this guy.’ Keep in mind, they’re in one scene — a pivotal scene, one which sets up the entire series — but they're really drilling it into me in ways that no other member of our cast did,” Kane shares. “The night before we were shooting the scene, I got a text from Barbara that could have easily filled a column in your magazine,” he laughs. “It was enormous, and it was brilliant. She was bringing so much — not just to the character, but she was so intelligent in terms of checking out the entire script, understanding what the themes of the show are, and understanding how she could fit into that.”
The series focuses on a struggling teen band called Dethkrunch who, in the wake of their high school quarterback’s disappearance, rebrand themselves as “Satanic” to ride the wave of moral panic sweeping their town. It works until it doesn’t, and they soon find themselves the target of a literal witch hunt. The project, which also boasts Julie Bowen, Anna Camp, Garret Dillahunt, Emjay Anthony and Milly Shapiro among its cast, was instantly alluring to Crampton. “I read the first three scripts of Hysteria! when I was cast and they were all fantastic,” Crampton says. “Fun, spooky, dark and thrilling.” For Crampton, the gig offered other pleasures. “We were giddy with excitement for our parts… and costumes!” (Anyone who’s seen the sartorial choices in Jakob’s Wife or The Last Stop in Yuma County knows Crampton loves a bold wardrobe choice.)
Her co-star Combs was also easily sold, calling the project “a lovely experience… short but sweet.” Like Crampton, Combs was drawn to the quality of the material. “Matthew is a very gifted writer,” he says. “I was thrilled to be part of this, and it would be a delight to work with him again.”
Though the pair both appeared in last year’s Onyx the Fortuitous and the Talisman of Souls, Crampton and Combs shared no scenes together in that film, making this their first onscreen appearance together since 1995’s Castle Freak (where they also played a married couple). “It was an absolute joy to work on screen with Jeffrey again,” Crampton exclaims. “We play the parents to an important character on this show (you’ll have to watch to see which one!) and this lady is amazing. I just adore her!”
Casting the iconic performers, even for just one episode, meant a lot to Kane. “We wanted Barbara and Jeff there for a reason. We wanted them there because we're all huge fans, but also because we know they're great actors and that they can come in and deliver something awesome so that, if we get a second season, they can come into the fold and be more regular characters. If there's a reason to get us a season two, it's to get Jeff Combs and Barbara Crampton back on the screen together for more than just five minutes.”
As to what happens over the course of the series, Crampton is as excited to find out as we are. “I’ve viewed the first episode and it’s a blast,” she shares. “I’ll be watching and posting about all the episodes and enjoying the show along with you all!”
All episodes of Hysteria! are now streaming on Peacock.

since i don’t have time to write fics for wlw week here are some wlw headcanons! @total-drama-wlw
(if i didn’t list a woman on here it’s not bc i necessarily headcanon her as straight and more that i don’t have a specific sexuality headcanon for her in general that fits this post)
beth - bisexual and i don’t think she realizes she also likes girls until in between tda and tdwt. something about her and lindsay’s trip to paris makes her realize she likes girls and she comes out to lindsay while they’re literally in jail and lindsay is the most supportive bestie ever. beth is also sometimes a lesbian to me. as a treat.
bridgette - if she had to label her sexuality she’d probably say bisexual but i think she prefers to not use a label and just vibe.
courtney - lesbian forever and ever in my heart 💜 don’t even get me started on her (affectionate)
gwen - bisexual who’s known she’s bisexual for a while and is very chill about it until she gets her first full blown crush on a girl and then she starts freaking out (not about being bisexual, she just doesn’t know how to handle a girl crush when she can barely handle a guy crush)
heather - lesbian but doesn’t realize it at first, just thinks she’s not into guys because she’s smarter and more strategic than all these other girls who are letting feelings get in the way of a million dollars
katie & sadie - started off very boy crazy but i think over time they were more into the idea of a relationship and a partner to obsess over than the boys themselves. but they’re not ready to come out to the other person because it will make them different so they both keep up the boy crazy act until finally they’re like… wait a minute we’re both lesbians and then they probably start dating each other or something. they give me the vibe of girls who were super into dan and phil and then realized they were more into the idea of having that kind of relationship with someone of the same gender than into guys. if that makes any sense.
sierra - not sure of her exact label but she’s a girl liker in at least one alternate universe
leshawna - probably a lesbian who isn’t quite ready to come out yet, still figuring herself out and experiencing occasional attraction to men which confuses her
eva - she’s a butch lesbian to me 💜
anne maria - bisexual and chill as hell about it
jo - butch lesbian who struggles to date because she has issues with femininity but she also views other butch women as competition. girlie has a lot she needs to work out
ella - either bisexual or comphet lesbian
jasmine - bisexual and i think also poly, she’d be down to date shawn and sammy at the same time
sammy - lesbian and in the closet because she doesn’t want amy to know and bully her (amy is also a lesbian but she’ll still bully sammy)
sky - also either bisexual or lesbian comphet
axel - ive seen her as a lesbian from day one (no im not projecting because she’s the td character who looks the most like me) but bisexual axel also intrigues me. truly depends on the situation
tdi emma - bisexual but everyone thinks she’s straight. after season two when they’ve become friends again, bowie finds out she’s bisexual and needs a day to recover from the shock
julia - bisexual but heavily prefers women, refuses to show emotional weakness and therefore doesn’t date anyone for a while
millie - lesbian who always gets crushes on straight girls so she never pursues them, very pessimistic about any crushes she does get
mk - lesbian but doesn’t want to date because love is lame
nichelle - lesbian who keeps her relationships private from the media not because she’s closeted but because she doesn’t want her love life plastered in tabloids
priya - my brain says bisexual but my heart says lesbian. my headcanons contain multitudes
rr emma - she’s either a lesbian or bisexual who is so much more attracted to men that she hesitates to label herself as bi. there’s literally no in between
jen - lesbian, she and tom are wlw/mlm solidarity, they are each others’ biggest hypemen when getting ready for dates
kitty - she’s either pan or aro and still figuring that out for herself. knows she is attracted to everyone equally but doesn’t know if the level of attraction is yes or no
the geniuses - that’s just a lesbian couple
the vegans - that’s a lesbian ex-couple who stayed friends but uh. that was maybe not the wisest choice
sanders - lesbian who is either dating macarthur or knows she deserves better. idk what macarthur’s deal is in the second scenario but she would be so protective of sanders if she got a girlfriend. immediately started imagining a fic where sanders and jo start dating and it creates this big rivalry between jo and macarthur that sanders has to deal with but that rivalry turns into a friendship which relieves sanders until she realizes that they two enable each other and now she’s like “idk if this is worse”

Boom
(Series 14, Episode 3)
Summary: Moffat continues his obsession with religious military types as the TARDIS arrives on a planet devastated by a pointless war and the Doctor immediately steps on a landmine. Watch because: Ncuti Gatwa basically stood still for 45 minutes and still managed to have me spellbound.
Original Air Date: 18 May 2024.
Doctor: Ncuti Gatwa.
Companions: Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson).
Writer: Steven Moffat.
Director: Julie Anne Robinson.
Producer: Vicki Delow.Executive Producer: Russell T Davies, Julie Gardner, Jane Tranter, Joel Collins, Phil Collinson, Julie Anne Robinson & Steven Moffat.

"I Met Her Today" (1961-1965)
Recorded on October 15, 1961 at RCA’s Studio B, Nashville · Release date: July 19, 1965 · Album: Elvis for Everyone! (compilation)
MUSICIANS Guitar: Jerry Kennedy, Scotty Moore. Bass: Bob Moore. Drums: Buddy Harman, D.J. Fontana. Piano & Organ: Floyd Cramer. Saxophone & Clarinet: Boots Randolph. Accordion: Gordon Stoker. Vocals: Millie Kirkham, The Jordanaires.
Illustrative pictures · (1) On Sunday afternoon, July 30, 1961, Elvis appeared at Weeki Wachee Springs Park in Florida, on the west coast where he was then filming "Follow That Dream"; (2) Elvis on movie set Frankie and Johnny June 10, 1965.
RECORDING SESSION · BACKSTORY Soundtrack Recordings for Mirisch Company’s "Follow That Dream" July 2, 1961: RCA’s Studio B, Nashville One thing seemed certain to the Colonel: It made sense to go into the studio for another singles-only session. The June 25 session proved that Elvis and his band could focus their attention better when they were all trying to cut a hit single; increasingly, too, scheduling was becoming a problem, and between the two Mirisch pictures there would only be time to arrange a short session. Once Freddy [Bienstock] understood the Colonel’s goal, he knew exactly where to turn for hit material — to his hot new team, Pomus and Shuman. Having gotten three cuts on the last session was more than enough motivation to propel the songwriters into action. Mort Shuman had a simple formula for writing hits — “Chorus, break, and gimmick” — and the two had noticed that Elvis was drawn to first-person songs; in no time, then, they came up with a stranger’s tale, a gimmick, and a Phil Spector – produced demo. The song, “Night Rider,” was just the kind of rocker Freddy was looking for, and he sent it off to Elvis along with two Tepper and Bennett compositions, “Just For Old Time Sake” and “For The Millionth And The Last Time,” as well as two others (“Ecstasy” and “You Never Talked to Me”) and the promise of “a couple of real strong songs in the next few days.”
RECORDING OF "I MET HER TODAY" Studio Sessions for RCA October 15, 1961: RCA’s Studio B, Nashville The “real strong songs” Freddy had mentioned in his note were two brand-new Don Robertson ballads. Elvis’s careful phrasing suggests that he’d done serious preparation on the first, “Anything That’s Part Of You,” but that didn’t stop him from working hard on it, running through six takes as Floyd Cramer worked to duplicate the slip-note fills Robertson had played on the demo. Years later Elvis would tell audiences that “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” was “probably the saddest song I’ve ever heard,” but he never portrayed abandonment more convincingly than on this cut. Among Elvis’s recorded ballads perhaps the only competition comes from some of the other Robertson songs recorded in 1961 and ’62. The second of his contributions, “I Met Her Today,” told a more hopeful story, but it proved harder to get right. After a promising first take Elvis paused to correct some problems with the song’s challenging octave-and-a half leaps, but as soon as he’d mastered that, band mistakes began to multiply. After twenty takes the group’s concentration had worn thin, and they agreed to stop, leaving take eighteen as the master. But the recording lay unused for four years until RCA resurrected it for Elvis For Everyone.
Excerpts: "Elvis Presley, A Life in Music: The Complete Recording Sessions" by Ernst Jorgensen. Foreword by Peter Guralnick (1998)

LYRICS Don Robertson/Hal Blair I told you that some day If you kept on being untrue Somebody else would come along And release me from you You'll be glad to know now Your fickle world Can have its own way For it finally happened I've met her today I used to think I just couldn't live A day without you In spite of the thousand doubts and tears That you put me through All at once I don't care as much for you I'm sorry to say For now there's another I met her today How I treasured each smile, each kiss You gave to me now and then Well, you needn't be kind to me now Oh no, not ever again Just when the last bit of pride in me was gone Someone heard me pray And sent me my angel I met her today I met her today
