Her brother (2nd oldest): Park Jong-in (means quite, gentle, or chaste)

The truth.

It was said that a robber broke into Mr.Park house and brutally killed him. Two of his kids were a witness of this brutal scene. Both of them were found heavily wounded, while the younger one was also unconscious.

Yeah right… That didn’t actually happen.

It wasn’t a robber, it never was a robber. They have good security, it’d be hard to get in their house… Oh right, how could I forget… They turned to cameras off.

The real killer was his son… The second one to be exact.

It was a slow death, more like torture.

But how could he do that alone?

Who deleted the camera footage?

Who helped hide the finger prints?

Who was the one that pushed him to do it?

It was all Park Ha-Yun. The youngest child/daughter of Mr.Park.

The truth is, Park Jong-in wouldn’t have done this if she didn’t give him that last push.

My favorite K-Drama Couples 2023- Spring 2024

NOTE: I tried to include 2022 but my list got too long :)

Moving (Bong-Seok & Hee-Soo, Joo-Won & Hye-Won & Doo-Shik & Mi-Hyun): It's very obvious by this list how much I love this drama and how many blorbo-from-my-shows it created for me. And I know I'm only reviewing couples, but I was blown away by this drama. I don't even LIKE superhero shows, but I made an exception for this one and I'm so glad I did. If you like character development and plays on good vs. evil, I highly rec this! Bong-Seok and Hee-Soo are one of my favorite couples EVER and I loved the softness and epic romance of Joo-Won & Hye-Won. (And we all know that scene at the rainy window with Bong-Seok and Hee-Soo). These couples are really EVERYTHING.

Tale of the Nine Tailed: 1938 (Lee-rang & Yeo-Hee): This is the only time I've ever watched a season two and liked it better than season one. It's probably because it featured my favorite tragic half fox Lee Rang and gave him a love line with a mermaid. The two are SO sweet together---SOB!

Tell me That You Love Me (Mo-Eun & Jin-Woo): Wow. Maybe one of the softest couples I've ever seen in existence. Just watching them together was like a warm blanket in front of a cozy fireplace. I didn't like the ending choice which is a shame, but the drama was super well done and I still think people should watch it. There is also a very cute high school couple too!

The Eighth Sense (Jae-Won & Ji Hyun): not to be dramatic (just kidding!) this is the best bl kdrama I've ever seen. Literally this is it! I don't even want to tell you about the couple because I want you to just watch it! I'm dying for the writer to make another one because we need more queer media like this one!

Crash Course In Romance (Haeng-Seon & Chi-Yeol): Give me a noona romance featuring a man who has not felt warmth in 1000 years (ok not literally but this dude needs to have a warm meal made by an amazing lady!) This drama fell apart at the end (this seems to be a theme this year) but the couple makes it worth watching.

King The Land (Gu-Won & Sa-Rang): If you're looking for a low stakes, totally fluffy, rom com with TONS of chemistry (featuring MY BIAS!), King the Land is for you. Amazing skinship, kisses and just like a really fun duo to watch. Plot? Not so much but there are a billion good moments-- just look at the tags: They are full of cuteness.

Love After Divorce Season 4 (Benita & Jerome): Listen, I know I'm cheating by putting a reality tv show on this list but if you're in the mood for one, I highly recommend this season (it's on Netflix). Benita and Jerome will steal your heart and they are still together! I'm rooting for them. <3

See you in my 19th Life (Ji-Eum & Seo-Ha, Da-Hoon & Cho-Won): My bias Shin Hye Sun kills it in this drama featuring past life romance. Honestly it's not fair because this drama is totally my vibe so I'm obviously going to love the mains. But when a drama gives you more than one love line and they are both interesting and lovely?? Chef's Kiss!

Dr. Slump (Jeong-Woo & Ha-Neul): This drama TOTALLY fell apart at the end and left us all very disappointed, but that's not because our leads weren't a perfect couple! They bonded over mental illness and even took their meds together. Communication: check. Comfort/Healing: check. Chemistry: check!

The Story of Park's Marriage Contract (Yun-Woo & Tae-Ha). You probably don't know this but I've been following Bae In Hyuk's career since we was in silly little web dramas. Seeing him as a lead is really wild! To be fair, he's not nearly the actor that Lee Se Young is, but do we care about that when there's a time slip romance drama featuring a historical lady who's been thrown into the future and has to fake marry someone who looks just like her de*d husband for reasons??

Episode 33 of KBS2TV's new weekend drama 'Three Siblings Bravely' (script Kim In-young, director Park Man-young), aired on the 15th, unfolds with the story of a K-eldest daughter who had to mature and yield for her family and a K-eldest son who had to support his family as a top star. lost.

She was Kim Tae-joo's 'Tearful K's eldest daughter' who had to yield everything to her younger siblings since she was a child. In the past, Yoo Jung-sook remarried Kim Ha-bok (Song Seung-hwan), taking her daughter, Kim Tae-joo. Afterwards, her younger siblings were born, and Yoo Jung-suk asked Kim Tae-joo, “You must yield to her younger siblings unconditionally.”

However, Kim So-rim felt the same way. In the past, Kim So-rim had a scandal with her older sisters Kim Tae-joo and Lee Sang-joon (Lim Joo-hwan), and she got into a physical fight with Lee Sang-joon's younger sister Lee Sang-min (Moon Ye-won) at school, resulting in her being suspended and failing her college entrance exam. As her relationship with Lee Sang-jun turned into a bad relationship, Kim Tae-joo only had bad memories of him, but in the end, Kim Tae-joo confessed her feelings to Lee Sang-jun, and the two registered their marriage before they even got married.

Jang Yeong-sik (Min Seong-wook) said that he raised Jang Ji-woo, Lee Sang-joon's out-of-wedlock son, as his own child. Even Lee Jang-mi (Ahn Ji-hye), the biological mother of Jang Ji-woo (Jung Woo-jin), appeared in front of Lee Sang-joon and Kim Tae-joo. Kim So-rim's ex-boyfriend Jo Nam-soo (Yang Dae-hyuk) plotted her evil deeds after finding out that Shin Moo-young (Kim Seung-soo) and Kim So-rim liked each other. Kim So-rim cleared her name thanks to Shin Moo-young, but she said goodbye when she learned that Shin Moo-young was the CEO of her company. Jang Hyeon-jeong (Wang Bit-na), who had a one-night stand with Kim Gun-woo (Lee Yu-jin), became pregnant with Kim Kun-woo's child.

Lee Jang-mi came to Kim Tae-joo's house and claimed that she had given birth to Lee Sang-jun's son. However, in the process, the two got into a physical fight, and Kim Tae-joo bumped her head, causing her to lose her recent memory. Besides, she couldn't remember her marriage to Lee Sang-jun, whom she liked so much.

Shin Ji-hye (Kim Ji-an) summoned Kim So-rim to a place with her father Shin Moo-yeong and her lover Jo Nam-soo to support their relationship, but Jo Nam-soo betrayed Kim So-rim and was dating Shin Ji-hye. Jo Nam-soo started to frame Kim So-rim.

Lee Sang-joon was shocked to learn that he and Jang Ji-woo had a genetic test and that they were parents. Later, they went to Kim Tae-joo's curry restaurant, but Kim Tae-joo and Cha Yun-ho (Lee Tae-seong) were friendly, recalling the special feelings they had for each other before she lost her memory.

However, while taking a night walk with Lee Sang-jun, Kim Tae-joo said, “I loved you. At the age of thirteen and at the age of twenty-four,” he regained the memory of the moment he confessed. Lee Sang-jun burst into tears as if filled with complex emotions. sorry. It's all," he said, weeping.

The main theme of this episode is separation and harsh reality intervening and crashing down on Mu Deok and Wook’s relationship just when they’ve realised they care for each other. Until now, they lived in their own little bubble - two outcasts and underdogs no one gave a damn about, but now Wook has become the hot commodity and bright star everyone wants a piece of and to bask in his light.

He has always been rich, handsome and noble, but now he is even powerful and power attracts. He stops being a pariah, yet she stays being Mu Deok - the lowborn personal servant he bought himself from a brothel. The realisation first hits Mu Deok after their sweet embrace especially hard because Wook always treats her as his equal, sometimes even with a hint of reverence as his master, not once has he made her aware she might be someone lesser. She has grown used to his gentle smiles and tender touches, grown accustomed to his sweet embraces. As a result, whenever they are alone she leaves out the honorifics, speaks to him intimately and calls him by his name, just like when she wants to give him the raisin tree pill, but she abruptly stops herself because Maidservant Kim is there, calling him by his title, and there is something tragic in the way Mu Deok corrects herself and a hint of sadness in her eyes as her smile disappears as she begins to comprehend the divide between her and Wook even before the walls of Songrim separate him from her.

And then, when she begins to doubt herself and their relationship, Wook, in his typical fashion, throws away all the expectation society has of him and immediately shares that precious pill with his Mu Deok. He is so incredible soft with her, taking care of her in all these different ways, and no one has ever been soft with her since her family died, except for Yul but that was such a brief time in her childhood while now, she is an adult woman.

That said, Daeho is not some modern haven of equality, it may be magical but the caste system still rules the society - a society where five powerful mage families rules and consolidate their power through constant intermarriages, just like any real world royalty or nobility, a society where a nobleman doesn’t normally marry his lowborn maid. 

The literal wall that separates them only serves as a symbol for all the figurative obstacles keeping them apart. Now, Yun Ok appears - the perfect bride material from the perfect family, with perfect pedigree and physically resembling his dead mother - she is yet another remainder of the divide between Wook and Mu Deok, of what Wook life would have looked like if his father didn’t cut off his energy. The moment he escapes one marriage of convenience, Heo Yeom tries to force him into another, regardless of his feelings on the matter.

Wook and Mu Deok embody the ultimate star-crossed lovers: a man of noble birth who falls in love not merely with his lowborn servant, but with a murderous soul-shifting assassin who happens to be the biggest enemy of the kingdom and whose mere existence is considered a sin against nature, ergo their love is a sin. Moreover, she is older than him, is his teacher and he is her master who bought her; and if that all weren’t enought she is on borrowed time and can die on him any moment. 

In the end, it’s them against the whole world, and Wook’s heated conversation with Park Jin and his defiance reveal to what lengths he is willing to go to protect Mu Deok and be with her. If he ends up being a pariah again and a sinner in the process, so be it, he can live with it, as long as he can spend that life with her.

What You Need to Know: After a rival gang makes an attempt on your life, Your older brother, the infamous leader of Seoul’s largest gang; Kim Namjoon, gets you a guard hybrid; Park Jimin, The reigning champion of Seoul’s underground hybrid fighting ring. - Yeah, this is also a hybrid series, but the mafia background is much more prominent. The OC is also smart as a whip and Namjoon as the angry leader and older brother is something to behold. The other members feature as well skilled companions and are very good at their jobs.

Yeah, turns out crazy is an understatement. - This is a sweet complicated hybrid situation where three different groups have to find a way to live together. It takes some time, but they all eventual pull together as a family.

The sun was barely peeking out from the horizon, it was too early and yet here I was waking up. It was automatic no matter how many hours I slept I was bound to rise with the sun. I laid on the bed, stretching my tense muscles, waiting for my brain to turn on. Relaxing and sinking on the bed again, I carefully peeled the bed sheets beside me to reveal my boyfriend's face. He had the bed sheet's imprinted all over his puffy face. It all made him look even cuter than he usually is.

I debated if I should wake him or not, but knowing he was going to wake up soon I got closer to him brushing his hair away from his face and proceeding to kiss all over his face. Feeling the soft pecks his eyes slowly blinked in an attempt to get rid of the sleepiness.

"Merry Christmas Yoongi," I whispered halting my attack.

Yoongi took his time stretching, yawning, and scrunching his face before responding a soft, "Merry Christmas, Yun."

Laying on his back, he opened his arms, knowing I'd want to cuddle him before we had to get up. It was a habit we had to talk about how we were feeling that day and about our plans for the day. There wasn't much to do today it was Christmas after all, the only things allowed to do was be lazy and open presents.

Alluring me to stay in bed for longer Yoongi kissed my lips very well knowing he was my weakness. It felt like we spent hours whispering sweet nothings as if scared someone would hear when in reality, we were the only ones in the whole apartment. Yoongi's hands almost lulled me to sleep again as he caressed my hair.

"Remember, we're going over to Hobi's for the Christmas party," Yoongi told me in between kisses.

"Stop thinking about Hobi while I kiss you," I laughed, pulling away, "He's not the one marrying you."

"From what I recall, I'm not marrying you either," he quickly responded, eyes narrowing in question and lips forming its natural pout.

He had a point, but it's only because he hasn't asked! We've talked about marriage before and it's something we both want to do we just don't know when. I know I'm ready to take the next step we've been in this relationship for about five years, we live together, we're basically a married couple already and that's fine I'm happy with what we have. But I would love to marry him officially, have a ceremony, say our vows to each other, and most importantly, call him my husband, the love of my life.

Sitting up on the bed, I straddled him, holding his shoulders and getting close to his face and asked, "Min Yoongi, will you marry me?"

Yoongi's eyes widened for a second before going back to their natural shape, "No."

"Why do you keep saying no?" I whined, slumping down in his chest.

Yup, it wasn't the first time I had asked. In fact, it's been a month since I first asked, and he keeps saying no. Every time he'd say dumb excuses as to why he wouldn't marry me by now it was more like a joke to see what silly thing he'd come up with.

"I'm too young to get married," he explained with a whine while grabbing hold of my thighs and flipping us over.

"Yoongs you're 29," I said, rolling my eyes.

"Exactly, I'm a baby!" he exclaimed, burying his head on my neck.

"At what age will you consider saying yes?" I sighed, playing with the hair at the nape of his neck.

"35," he said, the sound coming out muffled.

"That's a long time by then we would have been dating for ten years," I grabbed his shoulders and pushed him back to look at his face.

"So?" Yoongi shrugged his shoulders.

"I'm gonna keep asking in between in case you change your mind."

After an hour of waking up I finally stood from the bed and went into the kitchen to get breakfast started. I turned on the coffee maker first and prepared our preferred cups to pour it in. Just as I placed Yoongi's cup on the counter, he emerged from the room with a new set of pajamas and damp hair.

"You should dry your hair don't want you getting sick," I mentioned over my shoulder while whisking together the ingredients to make pancake batter.

Cold hands landing on my hips made me jump, "Yoongs your hands are freezing."

"Sorry," he lightly chuckled behind me, "In that case you should put on a pair of pants too."

"You should know by now I'm a rebel I do what I want," I sassily said, turning to look at him.

Yoongi was looking at me with a blank face, "You forgot to do laundry, didn't you?"

"Yes," I admitted with a sheepish smile.

"Alright, let me get my coffee and I'll dry it," he sighed letting go of me.

I thought I was alone when I felt a harsh sting to my backside, "Ow Yoongi that hurt!"

"That's not what you said the other day," he yelled from the hallway.

"Yoongi!" I swear this man is so inappropriate sometimes.

After breakfast we stayed in the living room and exchanged our Christmas gifts. It was honestly a very relaxing morning between the two of us and I couldn't be happier. We watched old Christmas movies and drank hot chocolate to get even more into the Christmas spirit. Somewhere in the early afternoon we crashed and napped on the sofa while 'Home Alone' played in the background.

"Yun...Yun...Yun," I heard Yoongi's soothing voice calling me and shaking my arm.

"Five more minutes," I mumbled, hiding my face in one of the cushions.

"Come on, wake up we have to get ready for Hobi's party," he said, rubbing my arm soothingly.

"On one condition," I pouted, lifting my head.

"What's that?"

"Marry me?" I asked, a smile sneaking past my lips.

"Ugh, I can't, I already promised this girl in a fan meet," he groaned, pulling me by my arms so I'd sit up.

A girl can only try. I don't want to be that girl who keeps insisting her boyfriend to marry her, but like I love this man so much I want to make it official! If he would've told me in the beginning, he didn't believe in marriage, I would've prepared myself and accepted it. Sometimes it makes me question if he isn't sure about us, luckily, I know him well enough to know he loves me just as much as I love him. I mean marriage is a huge step, and between my job and his career as an idol it can get tough. I understand he wants to have a more stable life before taking this step and possibly starting a family.

Feeling well rested, I got ready for tonight's party. Yoongi has been telling me about this party for the past month apparently Hoseok wanted everyone there because he has a surprise for everyone, I think he's finally going to introduce us to his girlfriend.

With my make up done and my hair curled I put on my red dress I bought it solely for this occasion. Yoongi helped me pick it out in the store there were so many good choices and at the end, I was in between two dresses. I had no choice but to ask for his help. With one long glance at each he ended up picking with the red one, he made a good decision because I looked stunning in this color.

"Yoongi are you ready?" I yelled while slipping into my heels.

He was in the other room because he insists I kicked him out of ours and that is a lie. I simply told him to get out of the way because he was hogging the mirror and I needed to do my makeup. The mirror he was using has the best lighting.

"Yes," he muttered, stepping into the room. He stopped in his tracks taking in how I looked, "You look beautiful."

"Beautiful enough to marry me?" I jested, shooting him a flirty smile.

"More like too beautiful for me to marry you," he grinned, walking over and pecking my lips.

"Don't be acting cute," I pouted, melting at his words, "I love you."

"I love you too Yun," he murmured, kissing me again.

When he pulled away, he had red all over his lips. Giggling, I grabbed a makeup wipe from my makeup bag and brought it up to his lips to wipe off any lipstick.

"There we go perfect once again."

Thanking me he grabbed my hand and off we went to Hobi's house. He didn't even let go of it on the drive. I'd spontaneously squeeze his hand tightly to see if it bothered him, but due to my lack of strength, he barely felt it, in turn he squeezed mine making me wince.

"Ow, stop hurting me," I whined, tapping on his hand so he'd let go.

"I barely did anything besides you wanted to hurt me first," he argued yet his hand was still on mine and I didn't dare let go.

"No, I wasn't," I defended myself, "It was an experiment to test my strength."

"In that case you have the strength of a toddler," Yoongi deadpanned.

"I know," I huffed, there was no denying that fact.

Once parked in front of Hoseok's house Yoongi opened the door for me and together we went to the front door. Hoseok opened the door with a huge smile and ushered us in.

"Sooyun, it's been so long I missed you!" he cheerfully said, pulling me into a hug.

"Yesterday was so long ago, my sunshine, the sky was so glum without you," I laughed as he rocked us side to side.

"I'm so glad you're here I want to introduce you to someone," Hobi excitedly said, dragging me with me. Before he pulled me away, I grabbed Yoongi's hand, so he'd follow us.

I was right Hobi wanted us to meet his girlfriend, Soojin. She was really sweet and nice I could totally see why Hobi likes her. We talked for a long while getting to know each other from my peripheral I saw Hobi constantly looking over in our direction and smiling happily that we got along. It was cute how he wanted us all to get along.

The night was filled with drinks, food, and lively chatter. Not soon after Yoongi and I got there the rest of the boys started filing in with their significant others. Something I didn't know was that the boys did a secret Santa amongst themselves, so it was a real treat seeing them exchange gifts and sweet words.

It was 2 am when we left the party. Hoseok and Taehyung were still hyped up, I just know they were going to collapse soon.

"Did you have fun?" Yoongi asked, briefly looking in my direction. We were in the car on our way home, music playing on the speakers at a low volume.

"I did, I'm exhausted though. I can't keep up with Hobi," I chuckled lightly, shaking my head.

"Tell me about it," he agreed.

"I can't wait to get to bed," I told him, kissing the back of his hand.

"We're almost there," he gently squeezed my hand, "Can you get my phone from my jacket pocket?"

"Sure," I nodded, turning in my seat to get the jacket he threw to the back seat.

After grabbing it from the back, I straightened in the seat and searched through the many pockets of the jacket. In the last pocket where the phone was supposed to be I found a small black velvet box. Opening it there was a beautiful diamond ring staring back at me. It had everything I've ever wanted on a ring it was much like the ones I had saved on my Pinterest page.

"Yoongi..." I barely spoke above a whisper.

Why was this in his pocket? Did it mean what I thought it meant? Did I ruin a surprise?

"What?" He asked with a side smile.

"What is this?"

"A ring for you," he answered nonchalantly.

"For what?" I insisted, determined to find the answer I wanted.

"To marry me," Yoongi lovingly added.

"Don't joke with me Yoongi," I pleaded, hoping this wasn't some sick joke.

"I'm not, I'm serious," he insisted.

"Wh-what? Pull the car over," I ordered him, I needed for him to tell me this was real, eye to eye.

"Okay," Nodding, he pulled into a fast-food parking lot.

"This is serious? This isn't because I keep asking, right? If you don't want to marry me, that's fine and I'll understand. You don't have to feel forced to do this," I felt guilty a part of me couldn't help but think this was because I kept asking him. It started with me being serious, but it's more of a joke now. Of course, I want to marry him that much remains true, but not if he doesn't want to.

"Yun, I'm as serious as can be. I've been thinking about it for a while now," he admitted, taking his seatbelt off and turning in his seat, "I wanted to surprise you and I know that if I did anything overly romantic besides our dates, you'd be on to me," he finished explaining.

"Oh." My mind was processing everything that happened in the last 5 minutes. The thing that I wanted most was happening and I couldn't believe it. The love of my life asked me (kind of) to marry him and I said 'Oh.' Way to go Sooyun.

"So, what do you say? Will you marry me? Spend the rest of our lives together until we're old and gray?" he asked, a nervous look in his handsome face.

Tears streamed down my face and with a vigorous nod I accepted his proposal, "I will."

"Don't cry or I'll take it back," he jokingly threatened, taking the ring out of the box and slipping it on my ring finger.

"I love you," I sobbed despite his words.

"I love you too," he warmly replied, cupping my cheeks and kissing my waiting lips.

"Let's get home so I can kiss you and hug you properly," I told him after our kiss.

"Your wish is my command," he chuckled, pulling out of the parking lot.

And that is how my wonderful boyfriend now fiancé proposed in front of a McDonald's, not very romantic yet surprising and I wouldn't have it any other way. I loved this man, and it didn't matter if he proposed with a ring pop because I would've agreed in a heartbeat. I'm sure there was a long time to go until we had the ceremony but this was enough for me.

Lu Han sat at the breakfast table with his brothers. Charms of protection twinkled with magic beside windows and doors, the smell of sage was fragrant as it hung in the air. He could tell his brothers were speaking, he watched with kind eyes as their lips moved, but Lu Han could not hear them. 

“She is the sacred thirteen.”

The words rang through his head, the voice was unfamiliar, conjured by his mind during sleep to fill the ringing silence of his dream. He sat with his brothers at the table, but Lu Han might as well have been a million miles away. The dream that was not a dream replayed in his head, and he recognised it. He had spent his education honing the craft of clairvoyance, and if his families coven taught him anything, it was how to recognise a prophecy. 

In his dream, he had seen hi brothers; bared witness to the coming together of the twelve. In the chaos of his dream, he found Yixing, or maybe Yixing had found him. His eyes, dark and distrusting burned into Lu Han, and the man could do nothing but send a small smile his way, watching the distrust morph into an expression of pain, bubbling just under the surface, but never daring to leave his eyes. Lu Han saw tears that refused to spill, and he knew that what had transpired at that moment between them was heartbreak. Nestled into the tender warmth of his chest, kept in the bone confinement of his ribs by his pericardium was heartbreak, making a home of him. 

Two brothers stood opposite each other, both in pain, both restless. 

Unable to speak, Lu Han watched, feeling love fighting for survival among the broken pieces of his heart in an attempt to stick them back together. Unable to scream, he felt his heart snap back into place, right before Yixing disappeared, and with him went the rest of his brothers. In the darkness, he was left alone, but only for a moment.

In their place, the only human figure in the darkness, stood a woman. 

Lu Han did not know her. She was not death, not life nor one of the three fates. She was mortal, just like him. 

She knew his name.

Rather, she would learn to know his name. He watched her lips move around the syllables, no sound passing through them. The silence was ringing in his ears, the echo of the power of his name had made him heavy, but to his surprise, it had not made him uneasy. Lu Han felt no discomfort at the thought that she knew his true name. She was not the adversary.

The darkness dissolved into light, and the prophecy that had come to him in his dream settled over him like a weighted blanket, heavy but not uncomfortable. 

And as he sat at breakfast, it weighed on him still.

“Yixing called.” Yifan’s voice brought him back to the present. The deep rumble of his voice was comforting, familiar.

“He is coming.” Yifan told them, and Tao had let go of his coffee, letting the cup spill brown liquid over the wooden table. He could see the shock in the younger’s eyes, his dark circles deepening with the revelation. It was as if rest had left him. Yifan too, looked aged, if even for a second. He worried, brows furrowed and lips pulled in a tight line as is fingers combed through his black hair. 

Lu Han recognised the darkness swirling behind their irises, he was familiar with the glassy sheen of tears in their eyes. Lu Han knew heartbreak when he saw it. It was the same broken look Yixing had given him in his dream.

“Good.” Lu Han answered, his voice soft and reassuring. His almond-shaped brown eyes became smaller when he smiled, his full lips turned upwards into a small smile, the same one he had given Yixing in his dream. 

He was the only one of his brothers who didn’t look heartbroken. He had already put his heart back together, or at least he knew he would eventually do so. That knowledge allowed him to smile, and Tao smiled back. It was a broken rueful smile, but a smile nonetheless.

Hours later, Yixing had finally landed, comforted by the steady unyielding ground beneath his feet. He had travelled across the country, to his brothers. Back to his brothers, and yet away from them. It was a strange feeling, he thought, to be two halves of a Circle, never whole. 

At the airport, it had been Lu Han who came to greet him. The lean man looked as if he had not aged a day. He had grown out his hair longer, the curtains of his fringe parting in the middle, a serene expression painted over his features. No worry creased his brows, not tension pursed his lips together. Just like in his dream, Yixing watched him a little breathless, the memory of the prophecy fresh in his mind mixing with the heartbreak in Junmyeon’s eyes. His brothers were reluctant to let him go. they loved him enough to let him anyway, and now he was standing in front of his brother as if in a dream.

“I saw you.” Lu Han told him, eyes wide with happiness as he stood in front of Yixing, taking in the tired silhouette of his brother, his eyes falling onto the golden band on his ring finger. He smiled then, happy for his brother’s happiness as they finally stood together.

“I saw you too.”  Yixing told him, his voice barely a whisper when he spoke, scared of the consequences of their dreams. It was those dangerous dreams, however, that brought him here, to his family, it was those dangerous dreams stitching his family back together, and despite the heartbreak swimming in their eyes, both Yixing and Lu Han saw the buds of love, ready to weave their broken hearts back together.

“Did you see the woman?” Lu Han asked suddenly, and it was then that Yixing was forced to remember that he was a clairvoyant, that he was always a step ahead.

“The woman?”  Yixing asked, mind empty for answers. He had not seen a woman in his dreams, nor did Chanyeol or Minseok. Neither did Junmyeon.

“She had blue eyes, vivid and sparkling like sapphires and caramel brown hair.” Lu Han clarified, remembering the way her pink lips spoke his same without making a sound, and the way she made him feel like he would know her, not now, but in the future.

“Do you know her?” Yixing asked and he shook his head, hoping that his brother would have answers. He could see the brief shadow of recognition pass through Yixing’s eyes. He was hopeful he knew.

“I felt like she knew me, or like she would know me one day.” Lu Han continued, a small smile playing on his lips.

“A premonition?” Yixing asked, thinking back to Eleonora’s familiar face, the electric blue eyes, piercing into Junmyeon when they first met, the way she had scrutinised Baekhyun, and how she was starting to fall in love. If she was the one Lu Han had seen, he had no doubt the two would meet. He worried it might be soon.

“I think so.”  The slender man nodded, walking Yixing towards his car to take him home.

The drive wasn’t particularly long, it had lasted an hour as they moved to the outskirts of the city, living on the border of another coven. They lived together in a large house with tall windows and a white façade. The garden out front was well-groomed, with no stray flowers or long grass. They had no porch either.

“We are here.” Lu Han had parked his car in the driveway, letting Yixing get out first, before walking him to the door.

“Welcome home.” He spoke when they stepped inside, the warm air kissing their cheeks as they took off their shoes and hung up their coats. Looking out from the living room, Yifan had made his way to his guest, crossing the wide corridor to greet his brother.

“Yixing.” He spoke, and although there was little emotion in his voice, and the hand that reached out to him was done out of politeness, Yixing didn’t mind.

“Yifan.” He greeted the tall man, completely ignorant of the deep stare he was getting. Yifan’s dark eyes looked even darker when they looked over his brother. 

“Zitao.” Yixing had called out, watching as the youngest made his way down the central stairs, his eyes light with optimism and his lips curved upwards in a smile. Without missing a beat, and without regard for his elders, Zitao had flung himself at Yixing, embracing the man. Without thinking, Yixing hugged him back, feeling the grief and the heartbreak slip away from Zitao’s tall frame. 

Lu Han watched, standing now beside Yifan as he looked over the exchange, eyes softening at the sight. His brothers were embracing, and he watched as the heartbreak in Zitao’s eyes turned into something softer, a tender fire burning behind his eyes. Yifan’s gaze fell onto Yixing’s hands, a golden band glimmering in the artificial light of the lamps. He wondered what he had missed, and he wondered what they have missed too. For a short, tender moment their hearts pulled themselves back together, hope planted a seed inside the tender caverns of their chests. 

Eventually, Zitao let go, opting for steering his brothers into the warm kitchen. 

“What do you need to tell us?” Yifan had asked as they passed the threshold, and Yixing looked around at the three of them, before looking over at the table shoved into the corner by the window.

“Let’s sit.”

Minseok and his wife, Demi, decided to host dinner the day after Yixing left, trying their hardest to distract themselves from feeling the tug of increasing distance between them and their brother. Their table was long enough to host their coven, including Yixing’s wife, Yayun, who was staying with them while her husband was away. It was well known that during the Thinning one should not be in the house alone, and so as there were only two other married warlocks, she decided to stay with one of them. Minseok happened to be closest since he was right next door. Their living room was pristine, monochromatic in white and black with not a single speck of dust or stray object lying around. Their house, unlike the rest, was very minimalist and modern. However, even they could not go without the charms hanging by their windows and front door. Yellow paper with red writing and red tassels hung by them, and on the windowsill, a small bouquet of dry sage stood in a clear glass, ready for burning. Baekhyun had decided to skip this one out in favour of finally taking his wife to be on a proper date, and Demi and Yayun had supported his decision. They had gone as far as to tell him which flowers to get her, and they had settled on a bouquet of blue dahlias to symbolise a new beginning.

“Have you heard from Yixing yet?” Junmyeon asked when everyone was seated, his hand draped casually over the back of Winnie’s chair.  The rest of the coven grew tense, knowing that resentment took time to mellow out, and forgiveness was hard to give. Their deep brown eyes looked at Yayun, who was looking at them through a curtain of short black hair, her eyes equally as dark as their own. 

“He called to say he arrived. Lu Han was happy to see him.” Yayun spoke, sipping on her tea as she sat in between Demi and Winnie. Her melodic voice rang through the still air, but her words had put everyone at ease. Their brother was safe and Lu Han had come to greet him, and that was more than they expected. Minseok and Jongdae relaxed in their chair’s returning to their meal if soup and rice.

“We should ask Alethea’s coven about the prophecy.” Yayun turned to look at Junmyeon, a knowing look in her eyes as she regarded the leader with a serious expression. Her pink lips were pressed together in a straight line as she waited for him to say something.

“Why?” Junmyeon asked, leaning over the table to look directly at the small woman.

“Lu Han saw her too.” She spoke, and her voice cut through their peace like a knife. A shiver run down Junmyeon’s spine at the mention of Alethea. His dream was pulled fresh into the front of his mind, the memory of his name was threatening, and the image of water turning to blood was terrifying.

“What did he say?” Junmyeon whispered, half apprehensive of the answer, and half curious as to what the clairvoyant had to say about his dream.

“Thirteen. The sacred number is thirteen.” Yayun spoke, and this time even Jongdae and Minseok put their spoons back down.

“Not twelve?” Jongdae asked.

“Why her?” Jongin had asked, and the rest of his coven had turned to look at him, their eyes falling at the younger member with equal confusion. Why her, was a good question indeed, but they also knew things happen for a reason, and the reasons are not always obvious at first.

“Call her here.” Junmyeon commanded, and even Winnie could not help the look of shock at his decision. If he had seen her as the adversary, but both Baekhyun and Lu Han had seen her in a positive way there had to be more to this than he thought. It was clear now; when three of six had already seen Alethea, that she was significant.

Chanyeol had pulled out his phone, and after calling Baekhyun, he announced that they would be here soon. The coven waited, the severity of their situation weighing down on them, enveloping them in a blanket of silence as they ate the remainder of their dinner.

Baekhyun’s and Alethea’s entrance was announced by the chiming of the bell by the door, and the faint smell of burning sage as they cleansed themselves after walking in.

“You wanted to see me.” Alethea had announced as she walked into the room, her head held high as she looked over to the table.

“Do you know anything about receiving prophecies?” Minseok had asked, his voice was high and soft and as nonintimidating as he could manage. His large eyes gazed up at her in curiosity, waiting for an answer.

“My crone received one in her youth. I don’t know much else.” Her answer was unsatisfactory but expected. There was no reason for her to know much about receiving prophecies. Witches were told about prophecies fulfilling themselves, about prophets who had already been given their prophecies and interpreted them. Prophecies were rare, and prophets even rarer. Sometimes, a single prophet or oracle would receive multiple prophecies in their life. That was their purpose. Those with no clairvoyance were not chosen often.

“We think we are receiving a prophecy.” Jongdae had supplied, and beside Alethea, Baekhyun froze, his eyes turning frantically between Junmyeon and Minseok. The two remained serious and stoic as they watched Alethea’s reaction.

“All of you?” Alethea asked, looking at them with wide electric eyes. After surveying each face, she turned to look over at Baekhyun. He was standing still, his warm palm pressed against the small of her back. He was wearing a dress shirt and black slacks since they had come straight here from their date at the Thai restaurant. Baekhyun met her eyes, his plump lips pressed between his teeth as he bit down on his lower lip and nodded. His eyes darkened, remembering the dream of her being ripped away, and the distress he felt once he woke up, followed by Junmyeon opening the doors to his bedroom with Chanyeol at his feet, both as distressed as him.

“Bit by bit.” Chanyeol spoke, his deep baritone piercing through the still air.

“Why are you telling me this?” Alethea could taste their distress, a sour thing mixed with the metallic aftertaste of fear and adrenalin on her tongue. They were distressed for different reasons, she could taste the subtle differences in Baekhyun and Junmyeon. She didn’t need to taste feelings to know that Junmyeon was worried, his brows creased and wrinkles lined his forehead. She had never seen his eyes so dark, not even during their meeting with her coven. The severity of the situation clung onto her taste buds thick like treacle.

“It involves you.” Junmyeon told her, his voice ringing in the silence, and she didn’t know what to say back.

She could tell it wasn’t good, knowing names had never caused her much trouble, but she had a feeling it would become a problem now. Her power, her best-kept secret, was a weapon of mass destruction if misused, and she hoped she would never break to unleash it.

Yifan’s kitchen was warm, curtsey to them moving to the warmer part of the country. The sun beamed through the windows in golden rays, and Yixing could not help but think about Baekhyun, and whether his coven was doing alright. His eyes fell onto the three men looking at him now. Their expressions were stoic, lips pressed together and their faces void of any other emotion. Yifan’s eyes told Yixing he apprehensive. His brows were furrowed as he looked on, and his jaw clenched.

“We think it is a prophecy. It comes in threes. Lu Han already received a part of the prophecy.” Yixing wasted no time in telling his brothers what had been happening. There was no reason for sugar-coating and no reason for delay either. None of them knew who the next prophet would be, and no one knew what would happen once they were able to piece the puzzle together.

“It came in a dream last night.” Lu Han confessed when Yifan and Zitao turned to look at him, their wide eyes filled with worry. Yifan’s jaw had gone slack at the revelation, his lips parting, and he looked as if he was about to say something, but no words came out. Instead, the silence filled the air and tension settled over their shoulders.

“Why didn’t you say anything?” Zitao asked.

“Nothing makes sense. Besides,” Lu Han looked away from the youngest to the newcomer, sitting silently in his chair and observing their exchange with deathly scrutiny. “I saw Yixing, and I just knew. I knew I had to wait.” He tried explaining eyes wide with a knowledge the others did not possess.

“What does Junmyeon know that we don’t?” Yifan asked, hands balling as they rested on the table.

“We have other parts. At least some of them.” The gravity in Yixing’s voice was final, settling over them the same way it had settled over Junmyeon and the others when he first revealed that the strange nightmares were a prophecy.

“How many so far?”

“Five.” Yixing answered, not paying any attention to who was asking, all that he focused on was the memory of his dream and the weight of what he had seen.

“I’m the sixth.” Lu Han told them, looking over to Yixing. The clairvoyant watched as his dream passed behind his eyes, an echo of hope that came in a nightmare.

“When will we know the next parts?” Zitao asked, worry creasing his brows. For all he knew, he could be next. Plagued by a nightmare with the possibility of coming true.

“In two nights.” Yixing whispered, looked down at the table, eyes following the grains of the wood as if it was scripture. But just as in holy texts, there was no answer here.

“The woman I saw,” Lu Han began, a feeling of familiarity washing over him when her face passed through his memory, but he never got to finish his question.

“Is Baekhyun’s wife to be.” Yixing cut him off, with the answer.

“She can taste feelings.” Yixing added, thinking that the empathetic ability would make Lu Han excited.

“Cool.” Zitao exclaimed instead, but Yixing could see the appreciation swimming in Lu Han’s dark irises, tender and warm.

“We will go to you.” Yifan’s deep voice brought their attention to the tall man. His dark eyes gleamed in the light of the setting sun.

“It's better to be a whole coven, rather than a bit of it.” He reasoned, and his brothers agreed, waiting for Yixing’s approval. The calm man smiled, and Lu Han mirrored the action, their dreams passing in unison behind their eyes.

“Let’s go home.”

Eleonora woke up in the middle of the night, the fire alarm blaring and the smell of smoke thick in the air as she breathed in. In the darkness, she made her way to the door, checking if the fire was outside her room by touching the door.

Once her hand met the cool wood, she decided to open it, wondering what could be burning.

When she opened the door, the faint light of the moon illuminated the smoke coming from underneath Baekhyun’s door. She couldn’t hear any movement, and before she knew it, she was reaching for the fire extinguisher at the end of the hallway, quickly making her way into the room.

Behind Baekhyun’s bed, fire blazed, lighting the carpet, the dresser and the curtain of the window beside it.

“Baek?” She tried calling, but when he did not respond, she made her way over to his bed, ripping the covers off of his body and checking for his breathing. Just as she was pulling him out of bed, trying to get them both out of the room, Yeol and Suho burst into the room, both with fire extinguishers.

“Baek?” Loey practically screamed when he saw his brother slumped in Eleonora’s arms.

Suho spared no time as he passed them using the fire extinguisher to quench the fire.

“Take him out.” He had called over his shoulder, and Eleonora watched helplessly as the tall man carried Baekhyun in his arms almost effortlessly.

Once they were outside the building, they watched as the rest of the coven gathered out in front of Baekhyun’s house, Winnie watched as the fire inside receded, wrapped tightly in a shawl as she waited for her husband. Yayun was the first to come over to Eleonora. She watched as the younger girl looked on with wide blow eyes, her hands trembling at her sides as Yeol and Xiumin tried to resuscitate her husband to be. She gave her a shawl to cover herself with and gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. Once Baekhyun had opened his eyes, Xiumin opened a potion vial and slid the liquid down his throat. He coughed, allowing the smoke to escape his lungs in the form of black phlegm.

“What was that?” Chen asked, looking over at Baekhyun, face covered in soot as he knelt on the grass coughing up black phlegm and wiping his watery eyes.

“I think Baekhyun had a nightmare.” Loey told them, crouching beside his friend, patting his back to help the phlegm loose.

“Why would a nightmare set his room on fire?” Eleonora had been distraught, watching as the room burned, and Baekhyun remained unconscious despite the loud squeals of the fire alarm. She had felt scared, terrified at the prospect of losing him, and terrified of the flames eating at the room, orange and hot and deadly. Now, after all of that Loey was telling her he had a nightmare. Witches did not conjure fire in their sleep, there had never been such an accident, and there was no possibility of it happening. Conjuring that could be potentially destructive had to be done through concentration and strict ritual. Neither could be accomplished whilst asleep.

“It doesn’t matter.” Winnie quickly butted in, stopping the answer of Loey’s tongue before it happened.

“It doesn’t matter? He set fire to his house in his sleep!” Eleonora pointed at the smoke still coming out the stained glass window in Baekhyun’s bedroom.

“Don’t concern yourself.” Suho spoke up, his voice carried by the wind as he walked over to the group, empty fire extinguisher at hand. He descended the steps of the front porch, face covered in soot and sweat falling down the sides of his face in clear streams.

“It might have escaped your notice Suho, but we are getting married.” Eleonora spat, watching as Baekhyun caught his breath and sat in the grass, allowing the autumn night to cool down his body.

“Whether you like me or not, doesn’t matter. He is going to be my husband, his affairs concern me.” She told him helping Baekhyun to his feet when he outstretched his hand in her direction. She held him up by the waist, allowing the slim man to lean against her.

“You’re not his wife yet.” Suho told her, not sparing her a glance as he handed the extinguisher over to Soo.

The chill in his voice sent a shiver down Eleonora’s spine. She could taste his hostility and his irritation on her tongue, putrid tastes that accompanied poisonous feelings.

He had made it clear to her then; she was not part of his coven, and she doubted she would ever be one in his mind.

“Come in for some tea.” Demi and Yayun suggested, pulling Eleonora away from Baekhyun, who was passed over to Loey.

Once they sat down in Yayun’s kitchen, the girls began to make tea, handing Eleonora the first mug of steaming amber liquid and sliding an open packet of biscuits across the table. In the living room, Winnie sat beside her husband, wiping black suit off his face. The others sat around the room, eyes darting to check on Baekhyun every once in a while.

“What did you dream?” Minseok asked first, cutting straight to the chase as he looked over at his brother, the panic of the night still swimming in his glassy eyes.

“It faded the moment I woke up, but I know how it made me feel.” Baekhyun shivered, eyes darting to the doorway, looking over at where the light of the kitchen fell onto the floorboards in the corridor, searching for Alethea.

“I cannot shake the feeling there is darkness lurking, just beyond my reach, and my light can’t reach it.” He whispered, his voice small and broken, and Junmyeon thought he had the same broken look Chanyeol had the night of the prophecy. He was afraid, but no one could even begin to guess what was so frightening.

“You can’t tell her about your powers.” Junmyeon chose to warn him, eyeing him sternly as he pouted.

“You told Winnie when she moved in.” The younger accused.

“Listen to your leader.” Junmyeon told him, and the rest of the coven watched the tension build between them, confusion swirling in their eyes. They didn’t see a reason why Alethea should not be told about their powers.

“Why can’t I tell her?” Baekhyun asked, challenging his leader's authority. He stood up, legs still shaky from the lack of oxygen, but his eyes were dark when they looked down at Junmyeon.

“I saw her in my dream too.” He confessed, looking deep into Baekhyun’s eyes, fear and anger swimming in his own.

“In mine, she was the adversary.”

The coven stilled, the revelation stunning them into silence. He had kept it a secret since the beginning, hoping he was wrong, but still wary of the stranger. He had watched as his coven let her in, and he had been conflicted. It was good she had fit in with them, but he wondered if push came to shove, and the time was right, what would be left of his family. He had no idea.

“Junmyeon,” Baekhyun began, his voice weak, but he was cut off.

“Get back to your house. Sleep downstairs if you have to.” Junmyeon told him, standing up and putting a firm reassuring hand on his shoulder, before he left, leaving his brother to their musings and speculations.

Yixing had returned the day after he arrived. Yifan and the others wanted to waste no time in getting to the bottom of this. It was better to be wary. the Veil was Thinning and Samhain was almost around the corner. They had only two weeks before the 31st, and the Veil was paper thin now, and all kinds of creatures could pass through now. That is why they were now standing in front of Junmyeon’s house, which was currently also serving as the coven house. 

“This is where we live now.” Yixing gestured vaguely to the neighbourhood, now coloured in browns and oranges and yellows as the trees lost their leaves and the cold settled in. 

“You brought your own homes?” Zitao asked, looking around at the other houses. He could tell which house was Baekhyun’s just by looking. The stained glass windows gave it away.

“Junmyeon and Minseok got married. So did I.” Yixing explained, gesturing to two other houses, side by side with each other. 

“Yifan is getting married.” Zitao told him, gesturing to the man who was currently glaring at the house in front of them.

“When?”

“When I figure out what is going on.” Yifan butted in, agitated at the idea that he would have to stay with Junmyeon as they figure out the prophecy. 

 As if by some great providence, Junmyeon had walked out of his front door, Winnie and Minseok following closely behind him. 

“Junmyeon.” Yifan greeted, shaking the other man’s hand, and despite the anger he felt mere seconds ago, he could not bring himself to loath him.

“Yifan. Welcome home.” Junmyeon spoke, letting the lot into his home.

“Is it home?” Yifan asked, and Junmyeon tried to find anger and resentment. When he found none of that, and instead was greeted by his genuine question, he smiled. It was weak and small, but it was real. As if by magic, he felt the pieces of his heart pull together, for a brief moment e remembered what it was like to be whole, and when the feeling faded, he tried chasing it, wanting to feel the same love and content, even if for just a few more seconds.

“We are one coven and one Circle. Your home is my home.” Junmyeon told them, leading them into the living room, where the rest of his coven waited, patiently anticipating their brother’s return. Even if it was just temporary.

“It’s good to be home.” Lu Han was the first to speak, his eyes falling on Sehun and Minseok, side by side as they looked on with hope at their arrival.

“I’m glad you’re here.” Sehun spoke, voice thick when he spoke, and the two didn’t wait any longer before they fell into each other’s arms. Their coven was whole, and although their hearts needed time, Lu Han could tell they would mend. It was their destiny.

Full Name: Kim Hong Joong

Occupation: Captain, Geographer

Backstory: Being raised by his father, Hongjoong had always wanted to see the world. He had traveled both by sea and sky with his father and learned under his wing, but after his father’s death Hongjoong inherited the ship and renamed it The HALA at the age of eighteen. “Hearts Awakened, Live Alive,” his father always taught him. With his friend Yunho, he was able to repair and upgrade many of the ship’s engines and technological aspects all making a comfortable environment for his future crew. One night, Hongjoong went to a bar to try to relax but ended up rescuing a girl whom he would fall in love with, Jo Da Hae. For three years, the three of them began recruiting their teams in order to search for the greatest treasure to ever be discovered.

Occupation: Zoologist, Medic

Backstory: Dahae was at the top of her class in the science department, majoring in zoology with a minor in nursing. After graduation, she wanted to have a taste of freedom before deciding to work with animals in a sanctuary. However, her family disowned her after deciding not to go to work right away, so she was left penniless and having to find a job on her own. She found work in a local bar and was making a decent living but never felt she was getting anywhere. The night she met Hongjoong was the night her life changed for the better. Two men had tried to flirt with her as her shift was ending, but she rejected both of them. The men fought, and Hongjoong pulled her out of there just in time. Quitting her job at the bar, she joined Hongjoong on his ship and became the zoologist and medic on their adventures.

Full Name: Park Seong Hwa

Occupation: First mate, Oceanographer

Backstory: Being raised near the ocean, Seonghwa had loved learning about and studying the creatures that inhabited the waters. However, tragedy struck his family when his mother was killed after accidentally slipping off the edge of a cliff near their home, and it sparked Seonghwa’s fear of heights. His father never quite recovered from the tragedy but never failed to show love to his sons. After his father died, Seonghwa and his brother parted ways but kept in touch. Studying oceanography at the university, he met Geology major Grace-Anne Dawes, and the two hit it off immediately. Just after graduation, the university was attacked by a gang of evil pirates, but Seonghwa and Grace-Anne escaped safely. After wandering around for a while, they were picked up by Hongjoong, and Seonghwa proposed to Grace-Anne on The HALA.

Backstory: Grace-Anne only wanted a simple life after getting her degree in Earth Science, but that all quickly changed after escaping the university with her boyfriend Seonghwa. Her past was already rough with her mother an alcoholic and her father barely in her life, but she had other friends and family who helped her through and got her to the university. After being recruited by Hongjoong, she was able to use her Geology knowledge and cooking skills on their explorations.

Full Name: Jeong Yun Ho

Birthday: March 23

Occupation: Mechanic, Engineer, Cook

Backstory: Yunho grew up with Hongjoong in traveling around on the ship. He was orphaned at a very young age, but was taken in by Hongjoong’s father. Instead of learning about maps and navigation, he often studied the mechanical aspects of the ship such as it’s engine and wirings. He’s also known for being the jokester and keeping everyone else laughing. Now, he serves as The HALA’s repairman and will sometimes add new features with the help of Phoebe, Wooyoung, and Taeran.

Full Name: Kang Yeo Sang

Birthday: June 15

Occupation: Medic, Botanist, Quartermaster

Backstory: Yeosang’s father was a doctor, and he decided to follow in his footsteps; but he didn’t feel that he was studying medicine for himself. He felt as if it was just to please his family. Dropping university wasn’t easy, but as long as Phoebe was with him, he was confident in any path they chose. Although, he hadn’t quite completed his schooling, he was able to gather whatever medical books he could find and study from them. Now, on The HALA, he’s the medic and the Quartermaster. He may be the more quiet and reserved type, but that doesn’t hide his kind heart.

Full Name: Phoebe Jocelyn Daniels

Occupation: Hacker, Computer scientist

Backstory: Phoebe had been raised by her grandparents since she was two years old. Her parents had gotten into a horrible fight, causing her father to hang himself and her mother to abandon her. Her grandparents had always been loving and supportive of Phoebe in whatever she did, and eventually she was able to get into university for computer science. There she met and fell in love with med student Kang Yeosang. The two eventually decided to drop university to start a life of their own, but were recruited by Hongjoong after he was injured on an expedition.

Birthday: July 10

Occupation: Navigation, Astronomer

Backstory: San had been an orphan since he was small, but he grew up under Mr. Wilcox’s wing and eventually being taken in as his intern. He studied astronomy and navigation while working for the Wilcox’s company. San lived with the Wilcox family, and fell in love with the youngest daughter Celestia. He often would hear her sing whenever she studied, was getting ready for the day, getting ready for bed, anything. Her voice melted his heart; and knowing that she’d be the woman for him, he saved part of what he made for a ring to propose to her with. For years, they had been friends, but it wasn’t until they were both eighteen when San confessed his love to her and she had felt the same. The two eloped shortly after San’s twentieth birthday. However, after a break-in in the Wilcox home, he and Celestia had to escape without looking back. After mourning the loss of Celestia’s parents and two older siblings, the two were soon recruited by San’s friend Hongjoong. While on the ship, San is able to use his knowledge in Astronomy to navigate the ship and care for his pregnant wife.

Occupation: Archaeologist

Backstory: Celestia was brought up in a wealthy family. Her father was the CEO and owner of Wilcox Inc., but she was brought up to be kind and good-hearted to those around her. She studied artifacts from ancient ruins and grew a love for archaeology. Singing was also one of her favorite pastimes, but it also helped when she would work on her studies. However, one fateful night, robbers broke into her home, causing her mother to give her a large amount of money to take with her and San to escape. Mrs. Wilcox was the only one who knew of her daughter’s marriage to San. Once on the captain’s ship, the two feel safe again. Due to her pregnancy, she spends most days quietly studying the artifacts the crew finds on their journey.

Full Name: Song Min Gi

Birthday: August 9

Occupation: Pilot, Aeronautics

Backstory: Both of Mingi’s parents were pilots. That’s where he learned about aeronautics, but it wasn’t until he reached high school where had heard about Hongjoong’s father’s ship and became fascinated with how it flew when it traveled overseas and made a goal to one day fly it. He spent countless hours studying both aeronautics and pirate ships until he was able to teach himself how flying ships worked. Mingi was also known for being a sweetheart despite his strong features, and when he met Kim Taeran, she had rocked his world. About a year after meeting, their college was set ablaze, so the two ran off and eventually joined Hongjoong and the rest of ATEEZ and their significant others’ on The HALA.

Full Name: Kim Tae Ran

Birthday: June 24

Occupation: Mathematician

Backstory: Taeran had been building walls around herself ever since her best friend betrayed her when they were fourteen, which resulted in her parents’ murders. From then on she had the hardest time trusting people. Although it seemed weird to others, solving math problems helped her to cope. When she got to college, she met Mingi but didn’t trust him right away as she did with others. As time went on, she opened up to Mingi more and eventually found another one of very few people to trust. After running away with him after their school burned down, she and Mingi joined Hongjoong and she is able to put her math skills to use when she and Phoebe decipher codings on artifacts and helping Yunho with adding new technologies on the ship.

Full Name: Jung Woo Young

Occupation: Physicist

Backstory: Wooyoung grew up in a wealthy family, but his parents were barely around due to their jobs. His nanny was the one who really raised him, and taught him to be kind and loving to others, and this allowed him to have many friends growing up. One of those friends was Dinah Grady, and eventually they became lovers. He studied physics all throughout his schooling, and eventually earned himself a degree in that field. However, he’ll have times where he doubts if people genuinely love him due to the lack of love from his folks. In order to get a fresh start, he and Dinah ran off to begin a new life for themselves and eventually stumbled onto The HALA.

Full Name: Dinah Ruth Grady

Birthday: June 27

Occupation: Barrelman (Crow’s nest), Meteorologist

Backstory: Being a labeled a “wild one” due to having a few tattoos and a couple of piercings, Dinah has actually always been a sweetheart. She grew up climbing trees and taking gymnastics, but eventually took up meteorology for a career path. Dinah had always been known for being beautiful, but she wanted to show others that there was much more to her than a pretty face. When her heart was stolen by Jung Wooyoung, she knew she wanted to be with him for the rest of her days, but she’s always there for him when he needs someone to hold. The two of them eventually joined The HALA, and were the last ones to join, completing the crew. Dinah was appointed the barrelman due to her knowledgable in detecting the weather, noticing things really well, and being able to use her agility to climb up the crow’s nest.

Full Name: Choi Jong Ho

Birthday: October 12

Occupation: Gunman, Pyrotechnic

Backstory: Jongho had a rough childhood. When he was seven, both of his parents were killed in a car accident, which sent him to live with his aunt and uncle and cousins. He was often neglected, and eventually led him to be a troublemaker, often getting his hands on matches and fireworks. When he was in middle school, he was sent to counseling and his mentor waisted no time in helping Jongho get back on his feet. His mentor was also a gunman, so he taught Jongho how put his pyrotechnic skills to good use. Once Jongho was able to go off on his own, he ran from home, and sneaked onto The HALA, but not without Dahae noticing and taking him to Hongjoong. Since then, Jongho has been in charge of the weaponry on The HALA. He might have a short temper sometimes, but he’s learned to control it greatly.

▲ In Seoul, after the final ceremony for the 36 couples, there was a public procession of the couples in cars. Moon always sought maximum publicity from the mass marriages he held.

This list should be an accurate list of the original 36 couples who were married by Moon. During 1960-1961 he held three ceremonies. He then put all the couples together as one group which became known as ‘the 36 couples’. When some defected they were replaced by couples from the 72 couples group or others. For example Mr. Moon said: “No one knows, if Seuk Joon-ho  [Dr. Seuk, the son of Mrs. Choi Won-pok] enters the 36 couples…” January 2, 1997, São Paulo, Brazil.

Kim Yun-rye was also expelled but later made a pledge to give up the Unification Church, and Ewha Womans University allowed her to return to her studies.

Eight of the expelled students entered other universities in 1956.

Ewha in the list of 36 couples = Ewha Woman’s University students.
 These ten women joined as students during the Ewha University Sex Scandal of 1955. There were other students who joined, but they were not included in the 36 couples marriage, which took place in stages during 1960-1961.

The Hongs (couple 16) left in the 1990s. They are the parents of Nansook Hong. Her brother, Jin-whi Hong, was married to Ye Jin Moon. He left before Nansook – and he helped Nansook to escape the East Garden compound.

Moon bought a house for each of the 36 couples. Apparently, because Korea is a “low-trust” nation, this was one way of trying to ensure their loyalty. Moon: “In Korea I bought houses for many early members of our Church and in the future I would like to take the responsibility of buying houses for all the black, white and yellow people. I am the only one in history who is doing this, but it isn’t easy.”

The 36 couples were the first of two or three “Royal Blessings”. They definitely included the 36 and 72 couples and probably included the 124 couples. The wives from the “Royal Blessings” were all “purified” by Mr. Moon. The “Royal Couples” were also known as Mr. Moon’s “Tribe”. More is explained in this Shukan Post October 15, 1993 magazine article, published at the same time as Mr. Chong-hwa Pak’s book.
 Some of the 36 couples became quite wealthy and lived in expensive properties. Some had Japanese members helping in their homes.

Moon kept many of the 36 couples separated from their spouses for years and years. This caused some couples great heartache – for example Kim Won-pil was one who longed to be with his wife. It caused complications in other couples.

It is a fact that the 36 couples all had “womb cleansing” pikareum sex rituals with Mr. Moon. The theology was explained to Japanese members in the early 1990s by Mr. Yoshiaki Hiro, Mr. Kunio Sano and Mr. Yasutomo Shirai. (Mr Takeru Kamiyama was to be the main lecturer, but he was in hospital with stomach problems.) There had also been lectures given in Japan about pikareum in the 1980s by a lecturer called Ota.

“I have received many such certificates from Satan. One of the most dramatic was during the Blessing of the 36 couples. Incredible controversy erupted at that time; people were praying to God, “Please don’t let Reverend Moon take my son away. Let him die tonight instead.” … At the time of the 36 couple Blessing, the entire nation of Korea opposed me. I was a villain in the eyes of the country.”

San Andreas (2015)

Why is it these special effects-heavy disaster movies keep looking better and better, but the stories never improve? Visually, San Andreas looks awesome, and even better in 3D. Everything else is just the same clichés we've seen before, replayed again while the director pleads you to leave your brain at the door. Yes, I enjoyed seeing skyscrapers getting demolished but I can’t forgive how lame the characters are, or how bad the story is.

When the San Andreas Fault begins to shift and triggers a 9.1 magnitude earthquake, Los Angeles Fire Department Air Rescue pilot Ray Gaines (Dwayne Johnson) rushes in to save his estranged wife, Emma (Carla Gugino). Though they are going through a divorce, they set their feelings aside to rescue their daughter, Blake (Alexandra Daddario, whose outfit shrinks as the film goes on) from the biggest seismologic disaster the United States has ever seen. Meanwhile, Dr. Lawrence Hayes (Paul Giamatti) and his colleague Dr. Kim Park (Will Yun Lee) have discovered this calamity is just the beginning.

I know it’s easy to criticize a film in hindsight, that as you’re making it, you don't exactly know what it will look like, etc. but Brad Peyton had to know he was trying too hard to pull our emotional heartstrings. It’s not enough that Ray’s daughter might die, his marriage also has to be under threat. It’s not just that the family is already falling apart because of the tragic loss of their youngest daughter; the wife has also found herself a new man (Ioan Gruffudd as Daniel). Blake can’t just be in peril, she also has to have a romantic subplot that might go unfulfilled if she dies. Give it a rest. We already have a conflict with the San Andreas fault going ballistic. Why does the picture need a villain in the form of Emma's cowardly rat-man of a boyfriend? I won't criticize the movie for having the characters get pursued by cracks, or for creating a hero that can withstand shocks that would reduce a regular mortal to strawberry jelly. That comes with the territory. What no one gets excited by is a hero who decides to ignore hundreds of people dying just so he can repair his broken family, particularly not when you can see each plot resolution coming from so far away.

I’d rate the movie harsher, but as a dumb disaster film, it's well made. While Paul Giamatti’s character doesn’t do much, the man is magnetic. His presence alone lifts the movie. While Dwayne Johnson’s performance isn’t in the same league, he’s charismatic and believable as a hero. But what you really care about are the special effects. They’re incredible. There’s a nice escalation as the quakes get bigger and bigger and it’s all very convincing. When seen in 3D, you get your money's worth.

Films that feature earthquakes, meteors, superstorms, or tidal waves are all kind of the same on the human level. I wish writers would compensate by creating characters we can latch onto without having to resort to cheap emotional tactics. Titanic did it, why can’t San Andreas? On the upside, when it comes to annihilating all of California, no one does it better. If that’s what you want, then give San Andreas a watch. (3D version, August 8, 2017)

Bloodline (Final Rose)

It is interesting to note that all four major kingdoms in Remnant share policies related to the continuation of certain bloodlines. Huntsmen and huntresses are typically classified using a letter classification system in which they are ranked from E through to A with the letters S and EX reserved for especially powerful individuals.

The vast majority of huntsmen and huntresses are ranked between E and C. Perhaps only 20% of huntsmen and huntresses are ranked B and above with only a tiny percentage ever coming close to achieving a ranking of S. The number of individuals who qualify for a rating of EX is so small that they are generally considered living legends, titans of their era.

Given the the well-known genetic influences on Semblance development, Aura characteristics, and combat prowess, powerful huntsmen and huntresses are strongly encouraged to produce offspring. Incentives include (but are not limited to) direct monetary compensation, political favours and influence, and a host of other privileges.

Simply put, arguably the strongest predictor of a nation’s ability to protect itself and its citizens is the number of powerful huntsmen and huntresses they can field if necessary. Experience has shown over and over again that a single S class individual can be worth thousands of regular soldiers with EX class individuals capable of holding off or annihilating entire swarms of lesser Grimm on their own. Viewed in this light such incentives as those previously mentioned are an excellent investment.

Areas where powerful huntsmen and huntresses live also tend to show massive increases in residents, commerce, and industry as people flock to areas that are perceived as safe. Since huntsmen and huntresses are often territorial and will generally not abandon their homes unless absolutely necessary, the presence of powerful huntsmen and huntresses is interpreted by many as a guarantee of security.

It is not a coincidence that housing prices near places such as Beacon Academy are astronomical. The only thing better than living next to a powerful huntsman or huntress is living near a whole academy full of potential powerhouses being trained by current powerhouses.

This may also explain why residents who occupy the same area as powerful huntsmen and huntresses generally overlook the eccentricities that are common to such individuals. A bit of strangeness every now and then is a small price to pay for safety.

Although the exact location of powerful individuals is supposed to be restricted information, once a powerful individual moves into a certain neighbourhood, it is only a matter of time before people notice and respond accordingly. 

Perhaps the best example of this relates to the Farron sisters. Not long after their marriage, Lightning Farron and Oerba Yun Fang moved into a house in what had, until that point, been a relatively normal suburban neighbourhood. Shortly after, Serah Farron and Snow Villiers moved into a house beside them. Not long after that, Lumina Farron and Oerba Dia Vanille moved into a house a few blocks away.

Within a year, house prices increased by more than 30%. Both Lightning and Fang already qualified as EX class individuals due to their overwhelming combat power. Snow, Serah, and Lumina were classified as being in the S class (with Snow and Lumina bordering on EX). Vanille was the only individual (at the time) who qualified for an EX ranking due to abilities not directly related to combat (Jihl Nabaat was the other).

However, the trends went further. Crime, which was already low, became essentially non-existent. Construction soon began on new houses and even smaller scale apartment blocks (in keeping with local regulations) that, while not next to the aforementioned individuals, were still close enough to be considered in their sphere of influence. As each couple began to have children, the effects grew even more pronounced since children indicated the individuals in question would most likely be staying for a long period of time.

Of course, the effects have not been wholly once sided. Oerba Dia Vanille has invested heavily into the area, employing local people to work at a number of her businesses. All of the couples have provided funds to help improve services, such as schooling, public transport, public parks, sporting areas, and so on. Their mere presence at fundraising events and charity occasions has likewise led to vastly increased support.

Although the Farron sisters are the most obvious example, another example can be found in Patch, which has seen incredible growth since the entirety of Team STRQ settled in the area, even raising their families there.

Upcoming kdramas and I am interested in

Andante - I am normally very wary of dramas starring idols, but I am a sucker for any story involving transfer students to mysterious schools (hello, El Internado!) so I am totally checking this out. MOST LIKELY WILL CHECK OUT.

Chicago Typewriter - like the cast (A LOT! Like, Yoo Ah In is one of the handful of the young actors who can carry a traditional sageuk on his shoulders and Im Soo Jung has this amazing quirky vibe) but even more fascinated by the insane premise of 1930s writers reincarnated in modern day (I mean WTF!). WILL DEFINITELY CHECK IT OUT. 

Circle - mainly interested for the fact that it’s Yeo Jin Gu’s first grown-up lead role and I want to see if he can transition from child actor (I bet he can.) It’s also scifi genre which is pretty rare for a kdrama. MOST LIKELY WILL CHECK OUT.

Man to Man - Park Hae Jin needs to be in everything! And some sort of twisted spy and action story? Where do I watch it right noooooow? WILL DEFINITELY CHECK IT OUT. 

Mermaid’s Prince - an arranged marriage to a celebrity? Sign my up pls. WILL DEFINITELY CHECK IT OUT (unless they cast someone I truly loathe.)

My Sassy Girl - Joo Won in a sageuk romance where have you been all my life! WILL DEFINITELY CHECK IT OUT. 

My Secret Romance - I have loved Sung Hoon since Tales of the Gisaeng and the set-up sounds beyond cliche (he’s a rich boy who is relationship-phobic until he meets his OTP) but I eat that stuff up. WILL DEFINITELY CHECK IT OUT. 

Ruler: Master of the Mask - Yoo Seung Ho is back and in a sageuk! Kim So Hyun has an adult lead role! There are conspiracies and love! Each one of those alone would be enough to make me salivate, but together? WILL DEFINITELY CHECK IT OUT.

The Happiest Time of My Life - I know nothing about this drama except for the fact that it’s a romance and that’s it’s Ji Chang Wook’s last drama before enlistment. That is enough. WILL DEFINITELY CHECK IT OUT.

The King Loves - there are few things I love more than a period love story. I am fond of Yoona (and think she is fine in a period setting - see God of War Zhao Yun), Hong Jung Hyun was one of the very few supporting actors I liked in Moon Lovers (and the man is HAWT) so I am looking to his turn as the proverbial third wheel. And I’ve only seen the lead Im Shi Wan as a child actor in The Equator Man (yes, yes, I know everyone watched and adored Misaeng but it was not my thing so I never checked it out) but I liked him in that. Also, it’s set in Goryeo and not Joseon and promises me a tragic romance. WILL DEFINITELY CHECK IT OUT.

The Liar and His Lover - I am fond of manga adaptations and Lee Hyun Woo is very underrated, plus I am fond of musician romance and so far the vibe appears on point. WILL DEFINITELY CHECK IT OUT.

Third-Rate My Way - that rarity, a romance neither party in which is rich! Also, I am fond of Kim Ji Won, who’s the female lead. MOST LIKELY WILL CHECK OUT.

While You Were Sleeping - Lee Jong Suk (yay!) and Suzy (I am not a hater) in a romance? Could be lovely. Or another Uncontrollably Fond (lovely cast, awful drama.) MOST LIKELY WILL CHECK OUT

Introverted Boss / The Sensitive Boss / My Shy Boss I love Yun Woo Jin! He was in dramas ‘Divorce Lawyer in Love’ & ‘Marriage, not Dating’, i love romantic comedy dramas!  Park Hye Soo is cute but her acting can be awkward at times. My personal opinion. ;p Woo Jin’s character in this drama is dark, unsociable & shy but he has a nice heart and always thinking before speaking, considerate towards others. Hye Soo’s character is the opposite, like as they say “Opposite attracts”, so you can expect both of them falling for each other! Haha~ This drama is at episode 10 this week, if you haven't watch it, start watching, go go go!!
