ADA x reader hcs because why not?
WARNINGS! : Dazai being Dazai, mentions of alcohol and war in Yosano's part
FEAT! : Atsushi; Dazai; Kunikida; Yosano x gn!reader
➜ Atsushi Nakajima ᗢ
Tumblr media
ᗢ He asks Yosano for advice; it doesn’t matter. Presents? Yosano has to say they fit the occasion. A nice day in a park? Yosano makes Atsushi check the weather forecast. She saved dates.
ᗢ Atsushi would buy plushies as gifts. He started doing it after he saw how much joy they brought to Kyoka and they became his go-to gifts for everyone.
ᗢ Atsushi’s ability lets him turn into a tiger, tigers are felines, felines sleep for about 16 hours a day. Therefore, Atsushi too sleeps for 16 hours (and has a tiny kitty plushie he got from Kyoka <3)
ᗢ Atsushi once scratched you. It was an accident. It didn’t even hurt. But this chazuke loving boy cried for half an hour because he ‘hurt’ you.
ᗢ You once took him to the Zoo. He started rambling about chameleons. He just loves them. His love for them can be explained in two ways: 1. He wants to blend into the background like them, so that he can forget what he’s been through, so he can be like everyone. 2. They're just cool.
➜ Osamu Dazai 𓍯
Tumblr media
𓍯 Jokes that he would love to commit suicide with you, but I feel like he’d stop you say you’re uncomfortable… maybe brings you some flowers, to Yosano’s recommendation, he bought with the money he “borrowed” from Kunikida as an apology.
𓍯 Has a small crab plushie Atsushi and Kyoka gave him and used it to pinch your cheeks or places it on your head when he’s bored.
𓍯 Do NOT fall asleep near him, unless you want to be turn into a bandage mummy, because personal space is not a concep in Dazai’s vocabulary… at all….
𓍯 You cannot look at this man and tell me he wouldn’t blow in your ear to annoy you, Kunkida and/or Chuuya.
𓍯 Dazai may have on this goofy and careless personality, but the one time he was actually sad and brought to tears was when he told you about Oda. poor Oda
➜Doppo Kunikida ✎
Tumblr media
✎ Kunikida had a hamster as a kid. He started liking math because he would count the amount of seeds it ate every day.
✎ Kunikida on the note of his math teacher past, he gave Kenji math homework once, but had to explain it with cows.
✎ Kunikida gets mad if you aren’t organized, he’ll tidy up of course, but not without commenting and giving you sour looks.
✎ Once asked Yosano for advice on what to wear to a date and ended up with a wardrobe full of clothes. He’ll never do it again.
✎ Kunikida is almost blind without his glasses, he once tried to hug you without them and ended up hugging a door.
➜ Akiko Yosano 𓌏
Tumblr media
𓌏 Watches M*A*S*H* every chance she gets as a way to cope with her childhood. Please watch it with her. It’s an amazing show. The show screams Yosano. (I feel like her favorite would be Colonel Potter. He’s 100% the guy she would have wanted to work under. she cried during the last episode, not wanting the show she resonated so much with to end.)
𓌏 Yosano sleeps with her socks on and has an unholy big collection of them, most of them have Japanese sweets on them or random stuff she bought with Kyoka or Naomi.
𓌏 Drunkenly confessed what happened during the war once. She spat out everything. The pain drowned in liquor, everything now just a foggy memory of abuse and injustice. She took the hair pin off that day.
𓌏 Yosano took you shopping, Kyoka tags along, of course you had to pay for everything. And if you didn’t I’ll pay for Yosano and Kyoka happily . Before you know it it’s already late, the bag is full of random stuff, like scented candles and even more socks.
𓌏 Yosano reads romance. A lot of it. She became the ADA’s romance counselor. So you better be good at preparing dates or she’ll pout a little.

Currently obsessed with the thought of trans Taylor or Tyler Hernandez...
Like imagine they just kinda let it slip that they're actually identical twins, and the whole group kinda has a collective moment of pure "???" until the realization hits that they were both assigned the same gender at birth, but one of them transitioned at some point
Bonus points if both of them refuse to say which one of them transitioned and which one didn't
Aiden: So, uh... which one of you is...?
Tyler: Wouldn't you like to know, weather boy.

can we please have more coworker JAMES 💜
james calls you something he maybe shouldn’t | fem
You’re feeling at a James-given mark when Sirius appears.
You don’t know Sirius half as well as you know James nor Remus, but you’re ninety five percent sure he’s a good guy. He’s funny at lunch, whenever Remus has managed to convince you to go with them. He’s like James in terms of scandal. They like making bad jokes. Sirius really likes making Remus laugh, so he must be nice.
“Hey, he says, “where are they?”
You nod toward the boss’ office. “Presenting the last of the Lang and Co.”
“Oh, right.” Sirius moves in to James’ desk. He knocks one of his figurines over purposefully, then moves one to have its face in the other’s backside.
“I’ll have to tell him that was you,” you say.
“Rat. Why?”
“He’ll think it was me otherwise, and then–” He won’t kiss me later, you’d been about to say. James has grown suddenly and enthusiastically fond of withholding affection whenever you mess with him. As a joke, of course, but you refuse to risk your lunchtime kiss. “You know what he’s like with me.”
Sirius smiles oddly. “I do.”
He sits at James’ desk. Ever since you and James… started whatever it is you’re doing, things have been raw for you. Maybe you’re stupid, it’s only kisses, but you’re sort of thinking it isn’t. Like, this is dating. You might not be boyfriend and girlfriend, but you’re exclusive.
James is too good, and some small part of you doesn’t like admitting it, but the bigger part (the part that wants to kiss him and be kissed by him) knows it surely. How could you have grown to fancy him otherwise?
“Doing anything fun this weekend?” you ask.
“Not likely,” Sirius says, tucking hair behind his ears. “We’re all helping Remus’ dad paint the house. It’s a tiny thing n’ it won’t take long, but he lives in Aberystwyth. S’gonna take hours to get there and he wants to stay up there ‘cos his dad gets lonely.” Sirius scratches his jaw. “His dad’s nice, mind. I don’t mind going up there. Just hate being stuck in the car when James is driving.”
You won’t see James this weekend, then. He hadn’t mentioned it. “It’s beautiful in Aberystwyth. Maybe you can go to the beach,” you say.
“That’s what I’m trying to convince them to do.” Sirius grins.
“Not the best weather.”
“It’s always nicer up there. We spent a lot of time up there, you know, in the summers. We ping-ponged between Remus’ house and James’ parents.”
“Do they live there too?” you ask.
“Nowhere near.” Sirius laughs, a deep, rich sound. “You think I’d be used to long drives.”
“Where’s James from?”
“My parents live deep in the West Country,” James says, his hands sudden on the back of your chair.
Fuck, you think. You had no idea he was coming, distracted by Sirius and the patter of rain against the window. “You creeper.”
“You’re the creeper. Grilling dear Siri for details on my personal life.” James dives for a biscuit from the plastic packaging laid out on your desk and then away from you. “If you want to know where to send your fan mail, just ask me, sweetheart.”
“How do you sneak up on me like that?” you ask.
The space between your chair and the wall isn’t super tight, but it’s still weird to think he’d approached from the right and you hadn’t noticed. Just, James isn’t generous with details about himself and you’re too timid in your standing with him to ask.
“Practice… Sirius, what have you don’t to my little women!”
“I thought they were boys?” Sirius says.
“That gives you no right to knock them over and make them do frankly obscene things to one another. This is a workplace.” James knocks Sirius out of the way, desk chair and all, to set each of his little green figurines onto their feet. The ones that are standing, that is. The sleeping one he puts back in pride of place underneath his computer’s monitor.
“She told me not to,” Sirius says, not looking at anyone now, peering backward toward the office. “But I didn’t listen, don’t blame our sweet Y/N.”
“I wasn’t going to.” James sends you a secret smile.
“She wouldn’t physically withheld me if I weren’t so devilishly fast.” Sirius’ voice warms. “Hello, darling.”
Remus huffs as he sets down a huge binder of paper. “Hi.”
“You okay?”
The tone he uses is so tender, so soft, you aren’t jealous of Remus but you’re not far from it, either. Remus’ frowning is quick to turn up at the sight of his meddling boyfriend. It must be nice to see someone and have them make a bad day good.
You look up, finding James paused with a hand on his desk. He’s looking at you, impassive.
“You okay?” you ask him.
He squints, wrinkles his nose. “Fine. Got shouted at a bit for the reports. Bet you’re glad you have a twisted ankle.” You’re confused at first, then caught. James’ wrinkled face darkens to glare at you. “You lied?”
“I really didn’t wanna see him today.” Your boss sucks.
“And we did? Remus, we’ve been betrayed.”
“James, I knew she was lying, I just don’t care.” Remus rubs his face. “Why shouldn’t one of us escape him?”
Sirius takes Remus’ empty hand hanging at his side, picture of a concerned lover.
James, on the other hand, steals another biscuit despite your laughing protesting and nimbly switches off your monitor.
“Had enough,” James says. Turned away from the boys, he smiles at you playfully, hand twitching at his side like he wants to give you a squeeze. Or a shove. “Your betrayal is noted.”
“Mm.” You take a third biscuit from your pack to offer him.
He takes it, letting his knuckles brush under your arm before pulling away. “And filed away for a later date.”
When Sirius has pulled Remus away for another early lunch, James retakes his chair and slides as close to you as he can be. He looks for your hand under the desk. You pretend it’s just casually there on your knee and not waiting for him to hold.
“My dad’s family is very well off,” he says, rubbing your index finger with his thumb, “so the estate is huge. They own a lot of land, but he’s not, like, a lord or anything. You’d love it down there though, it’s nice.”
“I bet I would.”
“Don’t look so surprised.”
“No, I’m not, I know you’re rich.”
“Not that sort of surprise. It would be nice to go down there together.” He can tell he’s getting ahead of himself and backtracks. “Well, this weekend I’m going to gorgeous Aberystwyth and you’re…”
“Doing laundry.”
“Well,” he says quietly, “maybe you can make some time Sunday night after all of that and we can get a late dinner.”
“I thought I was in trouble over the twisted ankle.”
“Who could be in trouble for an injury?” James sandwiches your hand in his.
“Fake injury.”
“Oh, my girl,” he murmurs, almost inaudible, “so honest. No punishment on account of owning up to it.”
Great. My girl and he’s going away for the weekend. James Potter’s your personal nightmare.

lifeguard!james x reader 2
wc: 1587
cw: nowhere near as horny as the first one (my period ended), still mentions of sexual feelings, swearing
you went back to the pool the next day. was it for james? no. was it not for james? you weren't answering that. but there he was when you and the girls walked in just after lunchtime, sunglasses on to avoid the reflection from the water. you had to admit you were glad he was working, you'd forgotten your book at home and needed something fun to look at when you were tanning.
you were allowed to observe him shamelessly for a minute and a half whilst he was preoccupied explaining something to hilda, one of the old ladies who possibly spent every day of summer at the public pool (she was big on aqua aerobics). it was even better when he did see you all, though, his face breaking out into a boyish grin as he waved. the girls all waved back and you pulled your sunglasses down past your eyes with one hand, raising one eyebrow with a smile. he responded with a silly exaggeration of his heart beating against his chest with his hands, drawing an unwilling giggle out of you. he looked pleased with the reaction.
james left you all alone for a little, actually doing his job while you soaked up the sun, discussing your summer readings with lily. marlene and mary were filling out magazine quizzes next to you, occasionally asking for opinions. about a half hour later james approached you with an excited "ladies! it's good to see you back again!" mary laughed with a polite greeting in return, twisting in her beach chair to face him. you all followed, and you couldn't resist teasing him.
"hope you don't think it's because of you, baywatch." james shook his head sagely.
"i would never dare. i mean, clearly, this is the place to be." he gestured around the facility, obviously referring to the fact that you and your friends were the only people there aged between 15 and 30. lily laughed then, pushing her sunglasses up into her hair to look at him properly.
"is this your way of asking where people actually hang out?" james shrugged. "to be completely honest, most of our age group sleep through the day to do dumb shit at night, it's the best way to escape the heat," she explained.
"the few that are awake usually hang around the arcade," marlene added, "or the village -- that's the shopping centre. usually our group hang out there if it's horrid weather, there's a decent cinema and a music shop, passable food as well." james nodded, looking genuinely interested in what marlene had to say about it.
"maybe you'll all have to show me around it one time," he said cheekily, and you all made entertained noises at his forwardness.
"desperate for our company, are you?" you teased, but james just shrugged easily.
"i told you yesterday, i literally have zero friends here." there was something charming in his openness about being a complete loser, and you could tell the others felt similarly.
"don't be silly, james, we'll be your friends," lily said kindly, using the same tone she did when talking to the kids she tutored.
"yeah," marlene agreed, "you can't be any worse than the other tossers we're friends with." you all laughed at that, thinking of the boys who refused to accompany you to the pool.
"and they've not come with you?" james asked, catching onto the unsaid easier than he probably should as a relative stranger.
"they wouldn't be caught dead. sirius cares about his hair too much to even be around all these germs, and remus tries not to be in the sun if he can avoid it. poor peter refuses to be the only guy hanging out with us, I think we still scare him a little after all these years," mary joked, and james looked utterly delighted to be hearing about your lives.
he excused himself not long after to get back to the job he should've been doing the whole time, and you admired the way his arse looked in the swim shorts as he left.
"he seems nice," you muttered, and the others agreed. lily raised one perfect red eyebrow.
"are we talking about his personality or the body you can't stop staring at?" you gasped, not offended at her statement but more than willing to pretend.
"are you calling me a whore?" you asked with a hand over your chest.
"you said it," marlene quipped and you cried out in protest, lines of mock outrage spilling from your lips.
you got bored of bickering quickly, the heat taking most of the fight out of you. you sat in relative silence for a while until lily declared it time for more water, taking marlene to go buy you all bottles from the corner shop down the street. the ones at the tragic pool bar were never cold and she wanted ones from the fridge. that left you and a sleeping mary on either side of your line of chairs. you pushed yourself up to a sitting position, leaning over to grab the magazine lying on marlene's towel.
you flipped through it lazily, but couldn't stop your eyes from drifting up to where james sat in his lifeguard's chair, wiping sweat from his brow. there was something about him that interested you (aside from the god-like body). he had an easy openness that you scarcely found in guys your age; he wasn't afraid to be lame or honest and didn't seem to be interested in making himself sound any better than he was to a group of four hot girls -- if you did say so yourself. he was refreshing, and not just visually.
as if he could read your mind james started approaching, and you quickly busied yourself in an article you couldn't care less about.
"hi," he said, standing in front of your chair. you looked up, feigning slight surprise, as if you hadn't been listening to his flip-flops grow closer.
"couldn't stay away?" you asked, closing the magazine in a way you hoped didn't look eager.
"you caught me," he sighed, smile making its way onto his face.
"shouldn't you be working?"
"i'm taking my break. thought i'd come keep you company."
"how generous," you mused, "would've thought you'd gotten enough of a view of me during your shift from up on that seat of yours." james had the decency to look mildly embarrassed for a moment, but it passed quickly and he took it in stride, sitting on the edge of your deck chair, careful not to drip water on your belongings.
"i'm only appreciating the natural beauty of this town. besides, someone's gotta do it if your boyfriend won't bother coming here with you, wouldn't want such a nice bikini to go to waste." you felt hot at the compliment and you knew it wasn't just the sun. you tried to play it off.
"are you asking if i'm single?" james paused for a moment, possibly thinking through his options, then nodded, unashamed. "you don't even know my name."
"you won't tell me."
"touché." you let yourself smile a little, loving the way james' eyes crinkled when he returned it. "done anything to earn it yet?" you could see him genuinely thinking and wondered whether he'd make up a miraculous story about an epic save he made just before you arrived at the pool.
"no, guess not." he settled on, disarming you again. the near-constant earnestness in his way of speaking hadn't stopped catching you by surprise yet, and you wouldn't be shocked if it never did.
"and what, no girlfriend up north to scold you for staring at my tits?" you teased as james' eyes flew back up to yours, only relaxing when he saw you weren't upset.
"free as a bird," he confirmed quietly, "though I'm sure it's of no interest to you." the air felt electric between you, had he always been this close? you were face to face, only a few inches between you. you could feel butterflies erupting not just in your stomach.
"obviously," you answered, similarly quiet. the moment felt inappropriately intimate despite the people around you. you were equal parts glad and furious when lily and marlene returned, unsure of what you might have succumbed to right there on the deck chair if you hadn't been interrupted. james looked equally worked up, hazy look in his eyes making him appear already fucked out. he stood with a start, excusing himself to get back to work.
"see you around, baywatch," you said, strategically reapplying some lipgloss. you didn't miss his glance at your lips.
"hope so, dollface." you were glad james was leaving because the nickname made you falter, going straight to your ovaries. you'd done it to yourself yet were no more prepared, staring dumbly after him.
you tried to play it off quickly, picking the magazine up where you left off and flipping through noncommittally. you could feel your friends' eyes on you and pointedly ignored it, eyes trained down at some 'best-dressed' list you'd found.
"just your luck that you get first dibs on the hot new guy," mary complained, but you could tell she wasn't all that bothered.
"you are going to eat him alive," marlene laughed and lily nodded, the two of them already sharing condolences for james. you didn't say anything, but judging from the coil still wound tight in your lower belly, maybe it wasn't james they had to be worried about.

Respite From Heat
Tumblr media
Summary: A lazy day spent with the two men you love.
A/N: Short and sweet. Thank you to @whereflowerswenttodie for telling me about Canva for the picture. Please be kind to me I will get better at using it.
TW: SFW, Food mention, just fluffy, Gojo gets teased a lot
W/C: 1,559
“…and that’s gonna do it for the show today folks, make sure to stay in the shade and have something cool to drink. This weather isn’t a joke!”
The neighbors radio carried its audio across the street over to the three of you. And the radio host wasn’t kidding, the weather wasn’t a joke. It had to be at least 90 degrees out, but you wouldn’t be surprised if it was over 100.
Even though you sat in the shade, you could swear the pavement below you was melting your skin. Hot concrete bites into your palms while you lounge about, watching the two boys in front of you. Your two boys.
They were shooting hoops in the driveway, an activity Satoru begged Suguru to partake in. One minute he was cuddled up with you on the couch reading a book, the next his eager boyfriend was dragging him outside, an orange ball under his other arm.
Suguru dribbled the ball, the act borderline salacious. His bangs drooped over his eyes, a sheen of sweat beginning to coat his biceps. His tongue poked out while he focused on the ball.
Maybe you should thank Satoru for offering you this holy sight. On second thought, maybe that’s why Satoru wanted to play.
The white hair menace runs up to Suguru, stealing the ball before it could bounce back up to his hand. He lets out a cackle before dribbling the ball towards the rickety hoop, positioning his arms overhead to toss the ball.
The ball shoots through the air, the orange sticking out against the blue backdrop of the clear summer sky.
“And with that, I’m in first place!” Satoru prides, turning to Suguru as the basketball flies through the hoop, thudding against the ground.
“I’m like five ahead of you-“ Suguru says incredulously, one of his brows raising.
“In your dreams!”
Suguru squints at Satoru, debating on whether or not he wanted to start this.
Why not.
“Did you hit your head?” He asks, knowing it would rile Satoru up even more.
“You know Satoru, it’s okay to lose sometimes.” You murmur, cutting off Suguru.
“You guys are consipiring against me!” Satoru pouts.
Suguru ignores him and leans over to grab the ball, you catch a flash of his bare chest through his loose shirt, the large arm holes gracing you a sight to drink up.
Both of their hair stuck to their foreheads, their chests slightly panting while pink dusted their cheeks. Even when sweat dripped from their skin and they wore loose clothing, they still were too hot for their own good.
Maybe they were the ones responsible for raising the heat up around here. You wouldn’t be surprised.
“You should join us, come on it would be fun!” Satoru says, prancing over you to grab your hand.
“It’s not like I would join your team.” It was fun to antagonize him sometimes.
Satoru wails, and you stifle a chuckle.
“Besides, why would I want to play basketball against two 6’3 guys? You think I’m crazy?” You tug your hand away, watching as Satoru pops his hip out and rests his hand there.
“Maybe you’re just afraid to lose.” He states like it's a fact.
“Says the loser.” You argue.
Satoru opens his mouth to retort when a jingle sounds out, music flowing down your street.
Your ears perk up, the sound heavily ingrained in your body from your childhood.
“Is that-“ you start.
“An ice cream truck?” Satoru finishes.
You both lock eyes, excitement leaking from your voices.
Suguru’s lips spread into a soft smile. He wasn’t really in the mood for anything sweet, but he just knew you and Satoru would be.
“Suguru, pass me some cash!” Satoru looks like he’s two seconds away from jumping up and down.
“I don’t have any cash on me, you know I don’t carry it.”
You listen to the two bicker before making your mind up, hopping to your feet and running into the house.
Once inside, you dart to your room and dig through Satoru’s drawers. The man always had spare cash laying around. Sure enough, wads of crumpled dollars lay in the very back of his pants drawer. Honestly, he probably forgot he had it. He had more money than he knew what to do with.
Bounding down the stairs, you slap the cash in Suguru’s hand.
“Here!” You say with a large grin.
His eyes light up at your expression, beads of sweat rolling down his throat.
“Oh hey, where’d you get that?” Satoru asks, peeking over.
“Don’t worry about it.”
He didn’t need to know.
Suguru leans over to place a kiss against your cheek, the act settling off a million fireflies in your gut.
“Just the usual, sweetheart?” Of course Suguru was going to get the sweet treat for you.
He loved doing things for you while you sat there pretty for him.
You try to suppress a smile while you nod, watching him stand to his full height. He licks his thumb before carefully counting the cash you oh so graciously brought out for the two men.
You were an Angel, he wondered if you knew.
“Should be enough, let’s go Satoru.”
Satoru’s shoulders slump while he lets out a whine. Leave it to him to be dramatic.
“Whaaat? Can’t you get mine for me too?”
“No, plus you change your order a billion times.” Suguru skillfully shuts Satoru down, an act he’s done millions of times.
You really did have to be trained in the art of handling Satoru. And if anyone was trained in it, it was Suguru. He must’ve had a doctorate in it by now.
Satoru grumbles, pushing his hair up out of the way to look a bit more presentable. You watch as the two men set off towards the sound of the ice cream truck.
It didn’t take long before they were back. You sat on the sidewalk, legs outstretched in front of you when they returned.
“We bring gifts!” Satoru’s cheery voice calls.
They looked almost more refreshing than the ice cream cream in their hands. Handsome men carrying your salvation.
You reach out a grabby hand and Suguru carefully places the ice cream in your palm.
“Thank you!”
Suguru swears he feels his heart rate pick up a bit at the sound of your gratitude. God, the things he would do just to hear you say that.
He clears his throat, trying to maintain his composure so you don’t catch a glimpse of the pink tinting his cheeks.
“Satoru cut in front of a kid.” He rats out Satoru.
“No I didn’t! I almost did. And I didn’t see him, it's not my fault I’m tall.” Satoru plops down beside you, his legs noticeably longer than yours.
Suguru sits on the other side of you, basking in your presence. You shudder as the cold treat bites into your hand. It felt like you could hardly wait anymore as you unwrapped it, ready to dive in.
The heat felt a little bit more bearable once the cool ice cream hit your tongue.
“Damn Toru, that’s low, even for you.” You giggle.
“Low like that kid.” Suguru adds.
Satoru clicks his tongue before beginning to munch on his ice cream.
Ice cream trucks reminded you of your childhood. You could have been mature and asked Suguru to get you something more refined this time, but where was the fun in that? You just had to get the SpongeBob ice cream. Satoru ended up getting a chocolate cone, and Suguru was empty handed.
He didn’t really care much for ice cream. Plus, watching his partners’ eyes light up while they ate was just as good of a treat he concluded. It might even be sweeter than having the dessert.
You bite off a corner of the SpongeBob in your hand, watching as Satoru absentmindedly kicks his foot against yours. A small sign of affection, but a sign of affection no less. Other people began to fill the street in search of the truck, mainly children, but there were some adults meagerly waiting about.
Turning to Suguru you offer up your ice cream. He wouldn’t normally have wanted anything, but he couldn’t resist your expectant doe eyes.
He bends over slightly, taking a small bite. Sugar dances around his tastebuds as he licks his lips, looking back up at you.
“Thank you baby.”
“Of course! I dont want you to feel left out, you know.”
Suguru’s heart aches at the sentiment. Excitement floods his veins at the mere prospect that you thought about him.
Lucky, lucky, lucky. He thought.
The three of you sit in silence as you and Satoru finish eating. Satoru’s pink tongue darts out to lick a trail of sugary goodness from his fingers.
“That was good.” He squeaks out, leaning back on his palms.
“Why don’t we go back inside and shower, and I’ll get started on lunch.” Suguru speaks, knees cracking as he stands up.
Your head perks up at the mention of food, namely Suguru’s food, and you take the hand he's offering you.
He helps you to your feet before going over to assist Satoru, the feel of his sticky fingers making Suguru wince.
Summer could get unbearable at times, but having your boys around made it a bit more tolerable.

"Were you making fun of me with some esoteric joke?"
I am sitting on the floor, my face burning along with my soul and the back of my throat. I take another sip of the third-rate alcohol to calm me down on my hands and the instant  headache brings another wave of fury within me. I scream and throw the bottle at a wall, as if it was the one to blame for my current situation. I get up and rub my hands over my face as I walk to the window, looking over to the river. I feel the cold winter air going through my lungs as I look into my past and wonder how I managed to be this stupid.

May 11, 2034 Spring
Dear diary,
The weather is finally starting to get warmer. I think I heard some birds shrimping this morning. Mama found me some new vinyls on her last patrol, most of them were either scratched or only contained some sort of classical music, but there's one I really like. It's golden and it has a picture of a couple on the cover. I think it says "rumors", it's kinda dirty still. I had never seen a vinyl that sparkled. My favorite song is the one that says "don't stop  thinking about tomorrow, it will be better than before". I bet that guy didn't ever see a future like this coming.
Dina asked if I wanted to come to the river tomorrow with the other kids. Don't know if mama would let me though. Gonna make dinner real good so she does.
•─────⋅☾ ☽⋅─────••─────⋅☾ ☽⋅─────••─────⋅☾ ☽⋅─────•
"Wait up! Jesse, you run too fast, it's not fun."  I rushed as much as I could to try to catch him.  "You don't know how to play!"
Jesse laughed as he got closer to the shore, I managed to catch him a bit after, still panting. Right after me came the village dog all of the kids fought to keep last week. "You're lucky Barkie is such a loyal pup, right?" He knelt beside the big German Shepherd, scratching her chin. "Otherwise even she would be able to outrun you!"
"Her new name's Stevie!", I rolled my eyes. "And it suits her much better. Right, Stevie? Yes, it does!", I baby talked and kissed her head as the boy rolled his eyes.
As we discussed Stevie's recent name change we heard Dina's voice a few feet from us, calling us over. She was sitting by the river with Cat as some of the other boys played in the water. I got closer, bringing the dog with me.
"Oh hi, Stevie!", Dina said excitedly. The puppy nodded her tail happily.
Jesse quickly remarked how unhappy he was with the sudden name change, leading to a childish argument between the three of us while Cat just kept drawing trees on her little notebook as usual, only speaking when directly asked to, she said she thought Barkie was a better name. I was ready to tell her how bad her taste was when I heard some noise behind me. I was quick to look, thinking it could be an infected somehow, but it was Maria. She looked at us with a slightly angry face, knowing we shouldn't be sneaking out. In normal circumstances I'd be terrified by the thought of getting scolded by Maria but, right now, something else had caught my attention.
The blonde woman had a girl next to her, she seemed to  be close to my age. As Maria said something about how we shouldn't be going out of town and how we were old enough to be responsible my eyes traced the girl's figure. Her freckled face, her green eyes, the bandages on her right arm. I couldn't tell if  I was overthinking things or if the spots between her shoulder and her wound really formed the Orion constellation.
Completely oblivious to the scolding, I interrupted her. "Who are you?", I said to the girl, trying to sound more threatening than curious.
"I am Ellie. Williams", she looks at me, suspicious.
"Hey, quick!'' Jesse quickly interrupts us. "Do you think Stevie is a good name for this  dog?"
I glared at him, this wasn't the time or moment to ask such question to a stranger. And also she had nothing to do with our dog after all!
"What? Like Stevie Nicks?", she replied, clearly puzzled. I quickly soften my gaze and unintentionally smiled. Maybe she's fine.

absolutely no stress on doing this quickly or even at all. i really enjoyed the mikey and taller!reader fic! very refreshing to avoid submissive readers for tr works, and your writing is lovely!
could i maybe request the same premise but for baji, draken or shinichiro? totally your choice
A/N: I'm not....sure what happened here. But I think I blacked out writing about Shinichiro, mad got me down BAD. This was loads of fun, I love the TR boys. I chose Draken and Shin to write about I hope it's okay and I hope you like it! MWUAH
Draken:
Draken first met you in middle school. You had ran into him, not paying attention at all to your surroundings since most people usually just walk around anyways due to your height. When he felt a body push at him Draken turned around ready to curse whoever it was--only to stop in his tracks when he realized whoever ran into him was taller than him and a girl.
You scowled, crossing your arms ready to fight right back. “What?” You spat, like you’re not the one that ran into him.
Ken couldn’t help but laugh, he’s never met a girl as saucy as you (outside of the escorts at the brothel), let alone as tall as you.
Safe to say that once you heard him out, a friendship grew rather quickly.
You were never part of Toman, or any other gang, but you honestly could have fooled any other gang member you ran into. You were attached at the hip with Draken, both of you pushing and shoving at each other, putting each other into headlocks, leaving things out of each other’s reach. Really, it was a bit of a nightmare to the rest of the members since the second one of them said anything about you two just being together already you’d jump at their throats before Draken even had the chance to.
Turns out, they were all right in the end! Years later, after you both had grown up and Draken had his own shop (that he prided himself in!) he shyly asked you out. You thought it was a joke at first, pushing him away with a ‘please be so serious’ but when he didn’t laugh you realized you fucked up. ‘Oh, you’re serious’.
You obviously said yes, never seeing anyone in your life as close as Ken, but that doesn’t mean much changed between you two. You were still taller than him, so of course you’d do anything to bother him (bullying was your love language, really)
You’d pat his head and say things like “how’s the weather down there?” or “hey shrimp!” or even things like “I wish I were short like you, so much easier.”
He wouldn’t take that quietly, but it usually just ended in both of you on the floor cackling like idiots.
Sometimes, you’d be around the shop just with Inupi for a few moments, and you two obviously were not a thing so any jackass that came in to drop off their bike during those times would try to hit on you.
It never ended well for them.
Usually Inupi would have to hurry to where Draken was behind the scenes and beg him to ‘come get the guard dog’ only to find the customer in an arm bar with you kneeling over him.
(He made you apologize to the guy even though he hit on you. Can you believe that?)
It always caught Inupi and friends off guard when they actually caught you both being sweet to each other with kisses--it reminded them that you two were actually a couple.
NSFW:
Though Draken really didn’t show it much, he was absolutely whipped for you. Whatever you asked of him, he’d do, and that didn’t stop in the bedroom.
You asked him once to rid him for as long as you wanted--of course he obliged. But what he didn’t realize was how much you would tease him along the way.
His hands would be gripping your waist to ground himself, fingertip shaped bruises blooming underneath as you bounced on his lap, a hand grasping at his jaw and forcing it open with your thumb. You’d grind down on his cock, spitting into his mouth with a smirk. “You like the way my pussy feels, Ken?”
He’d nod furiously, murmuring curses to himself over and over as he felt himself get closer to his peak.
You could always tell when he got close though, and lifted off him, leaving him a mess underneath you. “‘M not done, Ken.” You’d complain, rubbing his cock between your pussy lips, bumping the tip to your clit with each drag. “You said as long as I wanted, remember?”
It was hard to forget when all he could feel was you sinking back down on his hard cock, tightening around him and slowly grinding on him.
You’d choke him, lightly, enough pressure to have his eyes rolling to the back of his eyes as he fucked up into you. “F-fuck, baby please--your pussy is so fucking tight.”
These were the times he’d be the most vocal, with you on top of him dragging out his orgasm with each passing minute.
After you made yourself cum on his cock, you’d give him some reprieve: “Go head and cum for me baby--whatever you need to do.” That usually made him snap, holding onto your hips for dear life and fucking you at a relentless pace until he crumbled and shot his load deep into your pussy
Shinichiro:
Shinichiro saw you walking outside of his shop one day and he swore he saw stars. That guy fell for you fast and hard from the moment he saw you. Long legs that went on for day, gorgeous smile, what’s not to like?
He couldn’t let you just go on by without saying anything, so he ran out and called out to you. Suddenly feeling very awkward and shy when you walked back up to him, a good three inches taller than him. You didn’t seem like the demure type either, with a manicured brow raised up and a smirk playing on your lips. He sputtered out compliments, with a bow and a ‘please go out with me’ like he was in high school.
He had god awful luck with women, but all the gods must have taken pity on him when you laughed and agreed to let him take you out on a date. He almost didn’t believe it when you said yes!
Everything after that was a dream come true.
Shinichiro was whipped in every way for you. He’d hold doors open for you, pull chairs out for you, bring you flowers. He was the perfect gentleman! But it was hard not to be when you would so sweetly hold his saw and kiss him, followed by  ‘you’re such a good boy, Shin’.
His pupils practically turned into hearts
When the two of you lounged together in your apartment, he’d always nuzzle into your chest, your hand running through his hair muttering praises of how sweet he always is to you, how you were so grateful to have him, how much of a good boy he was.
You could see him preening at all your woods, pressing himself deeper into your chest and hugging at your midriff.
The Black Dragons respected the hell out of you. Not only because you were their leader’s girl (duh) but because you held your own. You didn’t want to join a gang, but you commanded around them like you were part of them anyways. Whenever you came to a meeting they stood up a bit straighter, as you eyed them down like a hawk making your way to the front where Shinichiro stood.
He remembers when one of the newbies made a snarky comment about you, and he was ready to shut up him but you beat him to the punch anyways.
You stood tall, looking down with your nose turned up and the look was so icy it sent shivers down everyone’s spines. “Little boys should keep their mouths shut.”
No one heard a peep again
He fell in love a little more that day.
NSFW:
(Un)surprisingly, Shinichiro was very submissive to you in the bedroom. Of course he had his time and place to be rough with you, have you begging on your hands and knees, but you really ran the show.
Shin would be under you, cock leaking and swollen begging for release with you on top of him, grinding your pussy on his mouth, nose rubbing against your clit. You’d use him for your pleasure, bouncing on his tongue as he tried his best to please you. Shinichiro wanted nothing more than for you to be happy, and satisfied, so if that meant he had to give up air to see you writhing in pleasure so be it!
You’d play with your tits, smacking his hands away every time they’d inch closer: “Stay still, baby boy. No touching, remember?” He’d whine, but give in anyways, slobbering on your cunt and suckling your clit.
You’d hump his face, looking back to see him cumming completely untouched. When you turned back to look at him, Shinichiro looked like he was fucked out of his mind. He was so pussywhipped he didn’t care that he came without any stimulation. Your pretty pussy being on his mouth was enough.
“Such a good boy for me, Shin--feels so good.” You’d praise. “Keeping me so happy, fucking me so good.” You’d moan when he gave a particularly hard suck to your clit, now humping up into the air with your praises. “Make me cum, baby, and I’ll let you fuck me. Okay?”
Shin worked over time to make sure you came quickly in his mouth so he can finally shove his cock deep into that pussy he dreams about.

hiii! i have a fluffy one shot idea, nick x male!reader go on a carnival date 🎡
Carnival Date [N.S]
Tumblr media
type: fic! [REQUESTED!]
pairing: nick sturniolo x male!reader
warnings: sfw, VERY fluffy, a single suggestive joke (if you catch/understand it)
summary: nick takes you out to another one of his surprise dates. little did either of you two know that you would be hauling a large plush to the car afterwards.
notes: I enjoyed writing this so much 😞 send in more requests! I love writing them 💙 also I might take some parts of this story and put them into a headcanons list soon :3 happy reading!
WC: 3473
**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚ ˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚* **•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚ ˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚* **•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚
“You’re peeking!” Nick exclaims as he quickly clamps a hand over your eyes at the sight of you taking a quick glance out the car window.
“No, I’m not! I’m looking down!” You lie with a giggle, a stupid and large smile evident on your lips.
“Don’t bullshit me. You’re gonna ruin the surprise!”
You and Nick have been together for nearly a year now. You guys haven’t gone public yet but fans of the triplets knew that Nick was together with someone due to a few soft launch photos that your boyfriend would post on his story. You weren’t on social media much, which helped your case lots because it prevented fans from finding out who you were. You both agreed that the two of you would go public soon but wanted to soak in being private for as long as possible.
You could have never asked for a better boyfriend. Nick treats you so well and would literally do anything and everything for you. If you’re feeling under the weather, he’s at your house and by your side 24/7 and will nurse you back to your regular, happy self. You miss him and wanna come over? He’s dropping everything he’s doing and demanding Matt to drive to your place and pick you up. You’re rambling about a certain item you’ve been eyeballing? Nick’s already ordered it and has it on the way. The boy doesn’t hesitate to show you how much he loves and appreciates you. Despite him not being a large fan of PDA, he wouldn’t hesitate to hold your hand and pull you against him to bring you into a back hug in public.
He would even give you subtle and quick pecks if he’s feeling extra affectionate. But behind closed doors, he’s all over you. He loves laying across your lap when you’re sitting down and hiding his face in your thighs. He immediately melts when you play with his hair, it makes him feel so warm inside and is one of his biggest weaknesses when it comes to affection from you. Don't tell anyone but he loves being the little spoon. He does have his big spoon moments but he loves you holding him.
He’s practically wrapped around your pinkie finger and Matt and Chris tend to tease him quite a bit for it.
To show how much he loves you, Nick takes much pride in taking you on surprise dates every other week. Whether it be to your favorite restaurant or to the lake to have a small picnic and go stargazing.
Today was one of those “surprise dates” and Nick was very stern on getting you to look away from the windows in the car to ensure the surprise wouldn’t get spoiled.
“Babe, I’m not gonna peek, I swear.” You say, a chuckle escaping you as you look down at your lap.
“I don’t believe you.” Nick states, his eyes narrowing as he adjusts his hand covering your eyes. “Matt, how much longer until we get there?”
“Uuh about five more minutes. Do you want me to drop y’all off at the entrance or somewhere else?” Matt asks, his gaze momentarily shifting to the rear view mirror to look at Nick.
“Main entrance please.” Matt nods his head slightly and focuses his attention back on the road ahead of him.
“Nicky?” You call, your head turning around to hopefully look at your boyfriend.
“Yes, love?” Nick replies.
“I want a kiss.” A large smile creeps onto your lips as Nick shakes his head and removes his hand from your eyes. You blink a few times to get your eyes adjusted to the light and lean in for a quick peck. When you go to pull away, Nick sets his hand on your nape and pulls you back in.
You smile into the kiss and rest your hand on your boyfriend’s cheek, the pad of your pointer finger gently caressing his cheek as you tilt your head to the side, deepening the kiss. The moment Nick’s tongue slides into your mouth, you both break apart at the sound of Matt scolding you both.
“Bro, not in my car. I had to clean up y’all’s last session and I don’t wanna do that again. Small kisses are fine but make outs are officially banned in this car.” Matt scolds, his head shaking in disappointment as he turns the wheel with a single hand.
You and Nick’s faces flush at the male’s statement. “You didn’t have to clean up the mess, you know. I was gonna do it. I literally just went inside to clean us up first.” Nick defends, a hand raising to rub his nape.
“Well you took too long and I needed to pick up food. Anyways, no extra shit in my car! I’m literally right here. You can suck face at home or something. I do not wanna hear that.”
“Matt cut Nick some slack, he can’t help himself. He’s got a very-“ You get cut off by Nick clamping his hand over your mouth.
“That’s enough, sweetheart.”
“Yeah, I don't wanna hear you finish that sentence.” Matt shudders before he slows the car down and pulls the gear shift down to park. “Anyways, we’re here. Nick, text me when yall are done please.”
“Will do. Thanks, Matt!” Matt hums softly as Nick clamps a hand over your eyes again.
“Baby!” You exclaim, a laugh escaping you as your vision goes black again.
“No peeking! I’ll help you out of the car but you need to promise me that you’ll keep your eyes covered.” Nick says, his voice stern as you huff softly.
“Fine.” The moment Nick removed his hand, you clamp a palm over your eyes and look down. You hear shuffling next to you, followed by the door opening and shutting moments later. You hear Matt chuckle softly before your door opens, the air seeping inside the car and nipping at your skin.
“Okay, follow my lead.” Nick says and he sets his hands on your hips. You gently nod your head and keep your hand over your eyes as Nick begins to lead you out of the car. The moment you step foot on the pavement, you hear the door shutting behind you. “Okay, open your eyes!”
You oblige and find yourself getting blinded by the sun the moment you remove your hand from your face. You blink a few times to get your vision to adjust to the light before your eyes land on Nick who’s smiling widely and is standing in front of a large sign with the words CARNIVAL ENTRANCE on it.
Your eyes immediately light up the moment your eyes skim over the sign. You take a few steps towards Nick and envelope him in a hug, your arms wrapping around his waist tightly and your head buried in his clothes chest.
“I fucking love you.” You whisper, gaining a small laugh from your boyfriend.
“I love you more.” Nick replies, bending down to land a soft peck on the crown of your head. “Now come on, we have food to eat and rides to go on!”
Nick breaks apart from the hug and intertwines his fingers with yours as he takes your hand in his and pulls you towards the carnival. Anticipatory giggles spew out of you as you run close behind your boyfriend and allow him to pull you towards the ticket booth.
“What do you wanna do first?” Nick asks as he pulls out his wallet and hands a few 20 dollar bills to the clerk.
“Rides first!” You beam, a large child-like smile on your lips as you swing you and Nick’s arms back and forth.
“Alright.” Nick giggles softly and thanks the clerk after she hands him a large bundle of tickets. “Lead the way, Love.” Your boyfriend gives you a small smile before allowing you to pull him towards the rides. You looked like a small child seeing an ice cream truck for the first time as you whipped your head around to view the countless number of rides and Nick couldn’t help the smile growing on his face as he watched you intently.
“This one!” You exclaim, coming to a quick halt as you point ahead of you. Nick shifts his gaze from you to the ride the two of you stopped at, a small chuckle escaping his looks when his eyes land on a teacup ride. “Ima knock your ass out.” Nick’s jaw drops at your statement and you give him an innocent smile before dragging him towards the entrance of the ride.
“Five tickets.” The clerk states, her obnoxious chewing ringing on your ears. Nick hands the woman the tickets and slightly stumbles when you pull him towards a purple teacup the moment she opens the gate.
“Woah, slow down!” Nick exclaims as he sets his hands on your shoulders in hopes of steadying himself.
“You’re too slow, come on!” You exclaim as you climb inside the teacup and seat yourself down on one of the seats. Nick sits across from you and you shoot him a large smile, your eyes shutting due to how hard you're smiling, before you look down and buckle yourself in.
The red-head follows suit and reaches across the wheel between the two of you to grab your hand. You quickly whip your head up the moment you feel the male grab your hand and your face flushes slightly when he brings your hand to his lips, setting a small kiss on your knuckles.
“Please make sure you are buckled in tight folks, the ride will begin shortly.” The clerk’s voice booms through the speakers.
“You better hold on.” You say as your free hand grabs the wheel.
“For the love of God, not too fast. I will start dry heaving the moment the ride stops.” Nick mumbles as he leans forward and rests his forehead against the metal wheel.
“Can’t promise you anything, baby.” You extend your free arm a little to stuff your hands on Nick’s hair. The male hums contently and leans into your hand slightly as you start to massage his scalp. A loud ring causes Nick to get up abruptly, the hand that was in his hair slapping against the wheel. Your boyfriend immediately makes eye contact with you and a frightened expression can be seen spreading across his face as you grip the steering wheel with both hands, a large and mischievous smile clear on your lips.
“Wait-“ You cut Nick off by hurriedly turning the wheel with all your might. Your boyfriend lets out a surprised screech and grips onto the sides of the teacup, a large smile spreading across his lips as he looks down. The wind seems to slap him in the face as the two of you spin around, the sound of your soft laughter ringing in his ears as you continue to spin the wheel with no signs of stopping. “SLOW DOWN!!”
“Hang on!” A loud cackle escapes you when you see Nick bring his knees to his chest and clutch onto the sides of the teacup tighter.
“Y/N I swear to god ima start dry heaving.”
“Hold it in and don’t throw up on me!”
~~~~~~
“You sure you don’t want the last bite?” You ask as you hold a piece of powder-covered funnel cake up to Nick’s lips.
“I’m sure, you can have it. I’m still really full.” Nick reassures, a small chuckle escaping him as he gently grabs your wrist and brings it down. You gently nod your head and stuff the last piece of funnel cake into your mouth, a content hum escaping your closed lips as you savor the flavor.
It’s been about a few hours since you and Nick have arrived at the carnival. The two of you went on practically all the rides and aimed to try all the food available. However, you both quickly got full with a few corn dogs, churros, and funnel cake. Now, the two of you are aimlessly walking around the carnival grounds.
“How many tickets do we have left?” You ask Nick as you toss your empty food holder in a nearby trash bin.
“Umm…” Nick starts as he quickly takes out a small wad of tickets from his pocket. His pointer finger slides over them as he counts them in his head before he turns back to face you. “About 30.”
“What’s left? We practically did everything.” You force your lips into a straight line as you swing you and Nick’s intertwined hands. You hear your boyfriend hum in thought faintly for a moment, his eyes scanning down the isles y’all pass by. His eyes widen slightly when his gaze lands on a stand and he immediately drags you towards it without a warning.
“Nick!” You exclaim, stumbling over your own feet as you try to regain your footing. “Where are we going?”
“You’ll see! I can’t believe we forgot about this!” Nick exclaims, taking a quick glance behind him and sending you a small smile before he turns forwards. You tighten your grip on Nick’s hand for a while longer until he finally stops in front of a brightly lit stand. You momentarily get blinded the moment you look up, blue, red, and yellow lights flashing down on your frame and highlighting your features.
You quickly hover a hand above your eyes to avoid them from blinding you any further and look ahead of you, your jaw dropping when your gaze lands on a large bear plush hanging on a hook in front of you. The plush was the size of you, possibly even taller, and was accompanied by a few smaller plushies that were strapped to a metal wall.
“You two want to play Balloon Blast? Two more people and the giant bear will be up for grabs.” The clerk says as he emerges behind a line of water balloons resting against a large wall in front of you. You quickly whip your head around to face Nick, a small pout on your lips as you tug on his hand.
“Can we, please?” You practically beg as you grab Nick’s shoulder with your free hand to shake his tall frame back and forth.
“Of course we can. That’s why I dragged you here in the first place.” Nick giggles as he sets his free hand on yours. You beam up at your boyfriend and let go of his shoulder to allow him to hand a handful of tickets to the clerk.
“Thank you sir, you two take a seat right here.” The male pats two balloon machines with a smile. You and Nick quickly sit down and grab onto the small water guns in front of you. You take a quick glance over at Nick and smile when you see him shutting an eye and aiming his gun towards the target underneath his balloon. “Alright folks, welcome to Balloon Blast! The objective of this game is quite simple. All you have to do is fill up your balloon with water until it pops! Make sure you aim your gun towards the small target to make sure you’re filling the balloon. Are there any questions?”
The clerk whips his head around a few times to take a quick glance at everyone. “Alrighty then, when you hear a ring, water should come out of your gun! Best luck to you all and have fun!”
Seconds after the clerk finishes his run down of the game, a loud ring pierces your ears, followed by the sound of rushing water escaping the gun in your hands. You quickly adjust your ‘weapon’ to make the water hit the target and shut a single eye to fix your aim. The tip of your tongue pokes out from your lips in focus as you eye your balloon, anticipation, nervousness, and excitement flooding through your veins all at once. You flinch slightly at the sound of a balloon popping and you quickly plug your ears with your pointer fingers as all the guns drain from any and all water.
“And we have a winner!” The clerk exclaims, switching a switch next to him to make the alarm go off. “Let me get your prize, sir.” As he descends from the platform, you look over at Nick who’s already looking at you and smiling widely. Your gaze shifts from his adorable face to the popped balloon in front of his gun.
“YOU GOT IT?!” You exclaim, your jaw dropping in shock as your boyfriend nods his head.
“Here you go, sir! You two have a wonderful rest of your night.” The clerk says as he hands Nick the large teddy bear. Your boyfriend thanks the male before getting up from his seat and walking up to you.
“For you.” Nick states as he hands you the bear. Your jaw drops further as your arms wrap around the large plush. You get up from your seat and have to turn your body to look at Nick due to the bear blocking your vision. You scoot closer to him and lean in to land a quick peck on his lips, a large smile spreading across your lips when you pull back.
“You're the best boyfriend ever.” You gush as you land another quick peck on the tip of Nick’s nose.
“It took me winning you a giant ass bear to realize that?” Nick asks as he gives you a teasing smile and crosses his arms over his chest.
“You’ve been an amazing boyfriend way before you got me this. This just added the cherry on top.” Nick smiles widely and leans in to capture your lips again, his teeth nipping your bottom lip before he pulls back with a cheesy grin. “Now, how the hell are we gonna get this in the car?”
“Oh.. I didn’t think of that.”
~~~~~
“Are you serious? That is not gonna fit in here.” Matt seems to stare daggers at you and Nick as you grab the bear’s arm and make it wave at him.
“Yes it will!” Nick exclaims as he opens the side door.
“You can’t have it block the back window. It’s a safety hazard and I could get a ticket for it if a cop catches us.”
“I got it, I got it!” Nick gently takes the large bear out of your arms and gestures to you to get in the car, which you do with no questions asked. When you sit yourself down and glance over at the front seat, you bite back a laugh at the sight of your boyfriend struggling to open the passenger door. After hauling the door open, he gently sets the bear on the seat and buckles it in before shutting the door and climbing in the backseat with you. “See? I got it.”
You laugh silently when Matt slowly looks over at the bear in the passenger seat, his jaw slightly dropping as a disturbed expression spreads across his face.
“I’m guessing y'all had a good date.” Matt mumbles after he clears his throat and looks down at the gear shift.
“It was amazing.” You reply as you look over at Nick and send him a large smile. Your boyfriend sends you a smile in return and wraps an arm around your waist to pull you against him. You don’t hesitate to get yourself comfortable against the male as you bury your face in his neck and drape your legs over his thighs. As you wrap your arms around Nick’s neck, your boyfriend gently lifts you off him to buckle himself in. After doing so, you return back to your original position with a soft sigh.
As you feel the car move underneath you, you begin to leave a trail of kisses along the side of Nick’s neck. He sucks in his breath with your lips linger on a certain spot a few inches above his collar bone, his fingers digging into your hips as a small warning. You smile against the male’s skin before resting your cheek against his shoulder, your lips inches away from Nick’s skin.
“Thank you for taking me here, baby.” You mumble, your voice coming out soft as you force your eyes to stay open, a wave of tiredness overtaking your body as you take in your boyfriend’s comforting scent.
“Of course, Love. Anything for you.” Nick replies before he lands a quick kiss on your head. He rests the side of your face against your head as his fingers creep underneath the back of your shirt and begin to trace random shapes on your bare skin. You instantly relax under his soft and gentle touch, your eyes finally drift shut as you fall into a peaceful slumber with Nick holding you against him.

Hilarius: Guys, we have a problem.
Felix: Hilari, please don’t tell me that you’ve invited your creepy old man to one of our ✨TGIF✨ parties again-
Hilarius: That was just one time, Class Pres!😫
Sejanus: Your father literally tried to kidnap my Coryo, my Snow Angel right in front of me, Heavensbee!
Coryo: He also tried to blackmail our poor drunk Felix to go “stargazing” with him.
Festus: And don’t forget Clemmie.
Clemensia: Don’t remind me!😩
Felix: Seriously, Hilari, don’t force me to give your old man another restraining order-
Hilarius: Just listen to me for a sec!😭
Felix: Fine. Fire away, Heavensbee.
Urban: But it better not be about your stupid father!
Hilarius: I swear it ain’t about him! It’s about Juno!
Apollo: What about Juno?
Hilarius: She forgot to take out our school pants from the laundry room!
Festus: So?
Hilarius: They’re still wet from when we “accidentally” flooded that insane monster’s- I mean, Dr. Gaul’s lab with yellow glitter earlier.
Coryo: All of them?
Hilarius: All of them.
Livia: I am so gonna sue Juno and her family for this!
Arachne: Liv, she’s royalty. No one can touch her family-
Livia: Except my mama!
Diana: Where’s Juno anyway?
Hilarius: She’s at the clinic.
Felix: Why? She fainted?
Festus: Was it because of the rabid raccoon I brought earlier to distract Dr. Gaul?
Hilarius: No. She accidentally ate one of Palmyra’s expired egg rolls.
Florus: Not the egg rolls!😱
Felix: Is she still alive?!
Hilarius: Barely.
Palmyra: Don’t look at me~. It’s not my fault that Princess Phipps is not immune to poison-
Livia: But what about our pants?!
Coryo: And our dignity?!
Festus: What dignity?
Coryo: Don’t you remember?! We have another important interview with Lucky Flickerman and his stupid talking bird in two hours!
Felix: On LIVE TV?!
Livia: Duh~.
Lysistrata: Why are we doing another interview with Weather Boy anyway?
Dennis: Our school wants more sponsors, Lizzie~.😏
Apollo: Yup. More sponsors, more money~.🤑
Lysistrata: Then I’m not going!
Gaius: Yo, guys, calm down. We still have our pretty red skirts.
Everyone: . . .
Domitia: Breen, you’re joking right?
Gaius: Nope. And besides, my Tribute needs those sponsors.
Felix: Sh*t. You’re right. I forgot about that.
Androcles: To be fair, we all need sponsors after our last disastrous interview.
Gaius: And honestly, we can still save ourselves from humiliation if you guys just follow my plan.
Coryo: No pants, just skirt- Gaius, you’re a genius!
Sejanus: How is Breen a genius, my love?🥺
Coryo: Babe, don’t you get it?
Sejanus: Get what?
Coryo: We can attract more sponsors with just wearing our iconic red skirt!
Sejanus: Really?!
Lysistrata: Coryo’s right. No pants, just skirts, more sponsors, if you know what I mean~.😏
Dennis: Lizzie, don’t lie. You just want to see Coryo, Felix, and Hilarius in mini skirts-
Lysistrata: And there is nothing wrong with that!
Florus: Well, don’t mind me, I’m just gonna go home-
Pup: Florus, get the razor! We’re all gonna shave our legs today!
Florus: Why?!
Festus: Bestie, if we’re going to go out there and wear our school uniform without pants, and in front of Panem, then we better look sexy in our frilly red skirt-
Dennis: Like those ladies from Breen’s banned magazines?
Sejanus: The same magazines that almost got Highbottom fired from his job?
Festus: Yeah!😎
Felix: *sighs* Well, our reputation is trash anyway. So let’s do it!
Gaius: For the sponsors!
Festus: And the marmalade!
Livia: Fine! But if Hilari’s stupid old man ever comes near us-
Hilarius: Don’t worry, Cardew. We’ll call the Peacekeepers on you- I mean, on him-
Coryo: Hilari, does your old man have a skirt fetish by any chance?
Hilarius: Maybe?
Felix: He does, doesn’t he.😒
Livia: Like father, like son.
Hilarius: I don’t have a skirt fetish!
Sejanus: Then explain why you stole Urban’s extra skirt from his locker yesterday.
Urban: That was you, Hilari?!😡🔪
Hilarius: Why are you guys bullying me!? I’m baby!😭
*Hours later, at the Lucky Flickerman Show*
Lucky: Welcome back, everyone! This is your host, Lucky Flickerman, your favorite Weather Man-
Casca: Booooo! Start the show, Weather Boy!
Lucky: Fine.😞 Let’s welcome back our favorite Mentors-
Domitia: Hi, Lucky!
Lucky: Hi- What happened to your pants?! Why are you guys just wearing your skirt uniform?!😱
Casca: And on LIVE TV?! Crassus Xanthos Snow, how dare you wear your pretty red skirt in front of me-
Coryo: To get more sponsors.🙄
Lucky: Who told you to-
Festus: Dean Highbottom made us do it.😉
Casca: WTH, Creed!😡 I did not-
Felix: My granduncle, the ✨President of Panem✨ gave us permission.😌💅
Casca: That’s a lie!
Urban: So what do you think, Lucky? Do we look good or what?😊🔪
Lucky: Um- I- Well, for legal reasons, we’re ending the show early-
Mr.Heavensbee: Don’t end the show yet! I’m a sponsor! I paid for this!
Hilarius: Why the heck are you here, old man?!
Mr.Heavensbee: I need more cute and sexy photos of-
Lucky: Yup. We are ending the show right now! Bye, everyone!
Casca: I’m calling the Peacekeepers on you, Heavensbee!
Mr.Heavensbee: You can’t arrest me! I’m a senior!
*Meanwhile, at the Zoo*
Jessup: You know what, I’m just glad Coryo and his rich boyfriend provided us a screen to watch their live interviews.
Lucy Gray: Oh, my dear Jessup, you just don’t understand~.
Jessup: Understand what?
Lucy Gray: That their interviews with the funny bird man are always ✨comedy gold✨.
Tanner: Brilliant even.
Coral: I can’t believe my idiot Mender-
Facet: Mentor.
Coral: My idiot Mender looks good wearing that stupid ass skirt!😫
Lucy Gray: Mine too!☺️
Treech: Mine’s the best!
Sheaf: No, mine!
Dill: You’re all wrong! Felix has the sexiest legs!
Mizzen: Dill, shut up! You’re too young for this!
Dill: You’re just jealous that my Mentor’s prettier than yours!
Mizzen: That’s just Ravinstill Propaganda, Dill!
Reaper: Why can’t they just be normal?!😩
Brandy: Says the one who’s shouting at the sky all day.🙄
Lucy Gray: But we all know that my Mentor is the prettiest!
Marcus: F*ck this. I’m going to bed.

Lemonade — Vada Cavell
When I was seven years old, my friend , Vada and I started a lemonade stand.  Ever since then, she and I have been inseparable.
It was a hot summer week, and quite frankly, we had nothing to do. Her mom had just gotten back from the store and asked us to unpack the groceries. Neither of us wanted to, but like I said earlier, we had nothing else to do.
"Oh my goddd the weather is killing me!" I complained, putting the milk carton in the fridge. She nodded in agreement.
"Look!" she squealed, "lemons!" She takes out a huge bag of lemons.
"That's a lot of lemons, V," I laughed.
"Buy tuh-woo, get three free," she desperately tried to read the label.
"You mean buy two get three free?" I tried to raise an eyebrow.
"Whatever," she rolled her eyes, "we should make lemonade!"
I got out her mom's fancy pitcher and a knife, and miraculously didn't get cut while slicing the lemons. Less miraculously, the juicing of the lemons on multiple occasions stung our eyes.
"Okay, we gotta add lots of sugar," Vada told me, tasting the pure lemon juice. Her face puckered up in a way that even then I knew was not good.
"I love sugar!" I smiled, pouring an unhealthy portion of sugar in.
By the end of the afternoon, we made one dollar an seventeen cents with our one sale to the boy, Nick, down the street.
"We should go buy candy!" Vada's eyes lit up.
"Ooh! M&M's! And jolly ranchers! And gummies!"
That was also the day we learned that there's not much you can but for $1.17.
It was a devastating day.
Twelve years later...
"Hi Vada," I exclaim, running up to the shorter brunette, giving her an obligatory head pat before enveloping her in a hug.
"Hi!" she smiles widely. I love her smile so much.
"What do you wanna do today?" I ask.
"What's there to do?" she replies. We end up lying down on her trampoline for at least an hour, scrolling through TikTok's together.
"What is it with the Lana Del Rey, will you serve me Lemonade trend?" Vada says, confused.
"No idea," I confess, "but it's fun to see celebrity glow ups showcased by it."
"No, totally," she laughs, "You've totally gotten a glow up."
"No, you're literally hotter than the sun, shut up Vada!" Vada's definitely the prettiest girl I know. Everything about her is so flawlessly beautiful. She could literally wear the silliest most random outfit she found at the bottom of her closet and pull it off perfectly.
"You shut up!"
We sit in silence for a moment, then an idea pops into my head.
"Let's make lemonade!" I decide. Vada shoots up excitedly, "yes please! Anything other than TikTok's!"
"I agree."
We set off to work, making (much better) lemonade than we made last time.
"Okay, first of all, your mom has a lemon juicing thingy now, which feels over the top fancy, but we should probably use it," I tell her.
"It's literally a thingy you put lemons on and twists them, that's not fancy!"
"Whatever, let's use it!"
We slice up the lemons and begin to juice them.
"Damn, if this is what giving handjobs to guys is like, I do not want to date guys. Honestly, not really into that even before this. Like honestly, they're not doing it for me," she rambles. Her rambles are the cutest thing. If you don't interrupt her, she can go one for hours about conspiracy theories, shows, books, songs. It's one of the many things I love about her.
"Vada, you're literally gay, you don't have to worry about handjobs."
"No you're literally gay!" she points a finger at me. I pretend to take offense, slapping a hand over my heart. Joking around with her is the highlight of any day.
"We're both gay, now work on the water to sugar to lemon ratio," I decide.
"Why are you turning lemonade into mathhhhh," she complains.
"Just work on it!" I exclaim.
"Anything for you, my dear," she winks at me.
We finally finish the lemonade after fifteen minutes of bickering. I'm excited to try it, honestly. I haven't had good lemonade in years.
"Will you give me some?" she asks, noticing I've poured myself a glass.
"Pay Up!" I laugh.
"Is $1.17 enough?" she asks innocently.
"Why, you got that much?"
"The exact same coins," she confesses. I blush at the fact that she's kept coins from twelve years ago that we earned selling lemonade this whole time. I've never seen her as the sentimental type
"Damn, I must have meant a lot to you," I tease her.
"Not as much as you mean to me now," she takes a step closer to me, booping my nose.
"Oh yeah," I say, "and how much is that?"
She smirks, taking the lemonade out of my hand and setting it down on the counter.
"Enough to do this," she cups my cheeks and stands on the tips of her toes to brush her soft lips against mine. I hate to sound like a stereotype, but I swear I can feel fireworks go off in my stomach. My arms wrap themselves around her waist before finding their way to her hips and gently pulling her closer. She tastes like lemons and sugar(unsurprisingly considering we're making lemonade). Such a perfect taste for such a hot day. I could get used to this. It's hard not to crave more and more.
It's funny that just a few nights ago we were making fun of couples on TV who were like this, and yet now we're completely totally a cliche.
"Sorry if I read that wrong," Vada apologizes after pulling away.
"You're not reading it wrong, don't worry," I reassure her, kissing her lips again.

Word count: 2.5k
WARNINGS: small mention of blood, swearing, just cute fluff besides that!
A/N: ik i said this would be posted a while ago but I've been super busy w school and everything and have just had no time to write but here it is!this is acc something i've had in mind but have been able to actually write so it was nice to finally finish it. ok happy reading guys!
Tumblr media
"I'm hungry," Nick complained from the other side of the couch. Matt, who was too focused on his phone to even acknowledge anything else around us, simply blew Nick off. only telling him to grab something from the kitchen.me and Chris on the other hand weren't very tapped into the movie all four of us were supposed to be watching. It was a little boring, yes but what else was there to do? Summer break is normally fun but there are always a few weeks where you feel like you've done everything you can for this 10 week break.
" there's nothing good in there, can we go to the gas station or something?'' Nick asked as he hung his head off the edge of the couch we all shared. With the small back and forth happening right next time I was now paying less attention to the movie.
Matt, who was still looking at his phone aimlessly, answered Nick's complaint and question combination with "my car is still in the shop so unless you feel like walking 2 miles then go find something in the kitchen." annoyed. not really sure what he was annoyed about since he hasn't even done anything all day besides sit on the couch and sit around the house with us.
"we could just take the bikes.'' Chris said from behind me. Nick silently made his way toward the kitchen while we tried to figure out a plan. Looking around the cabinets and the fridge for something to his liking.
“You know I can’t ride a bike asshole” I sassed as I turned my head a little bit in order to see him.
“No I fucking didn’t, what are you talking about?” He retorted.
“Like everyone knows that?” I replied.laughing at the brunette’s confusion.Matt shut off the movie and put something on cable since at this point nobody was even paying attention to it.
"I'm just hungry and bored so can we please find some way to get to the gas station for the love of God."Nick said, walking toward us from the kitchen dramatically plopping down back next to Matt on the couch.
The four of us sat there and attempted to think of a solution. "I'll just teach you how to ride,"Chris suggested as he got up from the couch, pulling up his gray sweats slightly.the 3 of us looked at Chris so he realized what he just said "how to ride a bike guys, Jesus..." he clarified as he shook his head with a small smile at our immaturity.
The rest of us got off the couch and began to walk toward the front door to leave. As Matt opened the door my eyes were met with a beautiful pink sunset. The winding down of the summer day made the weather very mellow. Warmth and a soft wind hit my bare legs and arms. watercolor sky painting the scenery.
I followed the boys toward their bikes and grabbed the extra one which was Justin's old bike. blue and silver spikes stars were spread over the bike. not exactly something I would ride if I had the choice but i'm not in position to complain.
as I hopped on it I noticed Matt and Nick beginning to ride away "teach her and we can bring you guys stuff" Matt yelled from almost 13 feet away. I turned to Chris who was unlocking his bike for the chain
"Okay!" he yelled to Matt before turning to me."Alright, you know how to get on it so that's good."he joked before getting on his own bike. "ok try to move the bike" he said, turning to me.
"ok..."I mumbled as I placed my feet on the pedals. I lost balance once both my feet left their place on the ground causing me to frantically put my left foot back on the gravel. I turned to the boy in front of me. his pale skin glowing in the dwindling sunlight. He made a concerned face before getting off his bike in order to help me.
"let me try holding the bike as you put your feet on the pedals."he explained. Chris then came around to the back of me and placed his left hand on my waist and the right on one of the handles.my heart began to beat faster. I felt supported by Chris' hold so I put my foot back on the pedal. "So now move the pedals as if you were gonna ride for real." I did as he said and began to pretend to ride the bike.
"Now when I let go, keep pedaling forward."nerves shot through me as I looked out to the long empty street in front of me. the fear of falling over took over
"Chris im gonna fucking fall"I expressed
"I won't let go of you, just the bike. if you fall I'll catch you, promise."He reassured me. His words encouraged me to try so as soon as he let go I kept pedaling. The bike moved quickly under my feet but I wasn't scared because of the support Chris had on my hip.
Once I was about half way down the road nerves set back in and I began to feel like I might fall again. I wasn't steering the bike correctly and was sort of swerving. "Chris, Chris I'm gonna fall!"I yelled. I tried to straighten the bike but it wasn't working.
"No you're not kid, I'm literally holding you,"Chris said, out of breath from running to keep pace with me. The end of the road was nearing so I knew I would have to turn around soon.
"How do I turn?!"I frantically yelled. as the rounded curb got closer and closer.the wheels of the old bike wouldn't slow down as they glided against the pavement.
"What?" Chris yelled from behind me.I hadn't even realized he let go and that I was doing this on my own.
"How do I turn!?"I yelled even louder hoping he would hear and then teleport next to me and turn the bike for me.
"floor it!" he shouted as I was about to hit the curb. I then jerked the handles of the bike and turned sharply. my legs moving faster in order to keep momentum. "Hell yea!!" he exclaimed from the opposite side of the street. His excitement made me smile.
our happiness didn't last much longer though because I didn't realize there was a huge pot hole right in front of me. The front wheel got caught in the crater and sent me flying forward.
"oh shit!'' Chris yelped as he jogged over to me. Adrenaline was rushing through my veins still so I didn't feel much pain coming from my scraped up elbow or my cut knee. "you okay? No broken bones or concussions?"
I giggled at his concern and wiped up some blood that had been dripping down my leg. "dude you fucking did it, you learned how to ride a bike!"he said happily. a huge smile painted on his sun dusted face. eyes fixated on mine which were inspecting the sting from my cut began to set in causing me to let out a wince.
"Ok can we get inside now."I mumbled out of breath. my soft voice broke him out of his trance as he darted his eyes away from mine.
"oh yeah sorry." he said as he stood up and dusted off his knees that had tiny rocks scattered on them. I put my hand out for him to help me up and he did so. helping me limp back to the house.
Once we got inside he told me to wait in the kitchen while he grabbed our bikes that he realized he had left outside. While he was outside I hobbled my way over to the freezer and grabbed some ice, put it in a plastic baggie with a paper towel around it and placed it on my elbow.
When Chris came back into the kitchen he began looking for the first aid kit. "Sorry I took so long, your bike was like lodged in the hole." he explained, laughing a little. I huffed out a small laugh as well. "Okay here we go!"he said as he closed the cabinet, turning around with a red and white box in his hands.
He placed the box on the counter and began to examine what was inside of it, pulling out bandaids, gauze, rubbing alcohol and cotton balls.Chris struggled to keep the things in his arms as he walked over to me. The items catering once placed on the counter.
"hop up."he instructed. I did as he said, hopping onto the counter and shuffling around so I was comfortable and didn't feel like I was gonna fall off. I turned my head to watch him mess around with the medical stuff. putting everything into place. "this is gonna sting a lot" he said as he stood in front of me. cotton ball that had been soaked in disinfectant In his hand. i bit my lip as the alcohol made contact with my open wound. a stinging sensation being sent through my knee.
The slight pain went away as he stopped cleaning the cut. opening a brown bandaid and placing it on the cut carefully. "See, all better!"he joked, making me smile at his small gesture. our eyes caught each other as he looked up. both of us admiring the other's features.
for the first time in I think forever there was a silence between us. once that had to be broken but not by words. I hopped down from my spot on the counter unexpectedly .My action made Chris back up a little.
Without saying anything I hugged the brunette in front of me.wrapping my arms around his neck as he did the same with my waist. I buried my head in his neck and smiled to myself.
Chris pulled away from the hug before I could. I was confused at why he would do this wrong as he normally is a very big hugger with me. my confusion soon turned to shock as the flushed boy in front of me cupped my cheeks and pressed his lips onto my one passionately.
My eyelids slowly sunk down as my body melted into the long awaited kiss. i have had a crush on him for God knows how long but never came even close to knowing he felt the same way, let alone making a move.the front door opened almost as soon as we pulled away from each other. making us white our heads toward the door almost immediately.
"hey guys-'' Nick began as he and his brother trotted into the kitchen, bags of snacks in hand. "the fuck happened to you?" he asked me as he set the snack down on the kitchen table.
my heart was still beating faster than I could think but I had to make everything seem normal. i mean my best friend can't know I just kissed my other best friend who also happened to be his brother. "This kid tried to teach me how to ride a bike, '' I said with a small, awkward giggle.
"alright i'm going back to the couch." Matt said groggily as he walked back to the place where he had been for most of the day.
"yea same" Chris followed short behind Matt with his snacks in hand.i didn't take my eyes off him he sat back down on the couch.
"You sure he only touched your how to ride a bike?"Nick asked me from across the counter.leaned over, interested in the truth behind what had happened while they were out.
I took a sip of my red bull before choking on the drink at the question I had been asked. "Yes Nick, I've told you before, I'm not interested in either of your brothers like that."I reassured the brunette.i hated lying to him like that but I didn't really want to tell him just yet.especially If nothing ever came about with Chris.after all me and him are still just friends.
"Okay I'm just saying, you're awfully flushed." Nick said.
"There's nothing there, girl , trust me. I think they're watching La La Land in there," I said as I let go of the topic, making my way back to the living room.upon entering I saw both brothers on each side of the couch so I naturally migrated toward Chris. the boy who had made himself comfortable on the couch moved his legs in order for me to sit there.
Once the four of us were all curled up on the couch together it was almost impossible to ignore the fact that Chris' hand was placed on my waist.I leaned on him a little but not fully so as to not make it obvious that I had lied earlier.
I have had a crush on this boy basically since we met and now he's finally showing that he feels the same way, just without words which I honestly prefer.anyone can say anything but it takes a certain kind for passion driven by truth to actually act on your words.spoken or not.i don't know what we are but I feel like it's spelled out pretty clearly that it's more than what we've been letting on

Tough
Rosa Diaz x teen daughter! reader
Warnings: none?
In which, Rosa comes down with a cold and the squad shoos her home but she refuses- so reader comes to the rescue
“You look like hell, Rosa.”
“I’m fine.” Rosa spat.
“No, you are not.” Jake continues. Rosa only rolled her eyes before resuming her work. “Lieu, would you please tell her she looks like crap.”
Jeffords turned around and said, “You look like crap.”
“I’m working.”
“You’re sick. Literally not one of us have seen you this pale.” Terry continues.
“At least take this.” Charles put a pill on her desk- an antihistamine.
“No.”
“Ha ha.” Amy quipped, “I called your daughter.”
“Amy, are you insane? Why would you do that?” Rosa laid back in her seat, “Why would you call my daughter over this?”
“Because out of everyone you know, I know you’d listen to her.” Amy shrugged.
“I’m gonna kill you.”
“No, you are not.” Amy replies calmly, “Just go home and take it easy for the rest of the day.”
“But you might want to wait for your daughter to get here.” Holt’s voice cut through the room. “I do not think it is safe for you to make your own way home. She should be here in 16 minutes. Her school has let out for the day.”
“Whaaat? Still crazy to hear that.” Jake laughs.
“Get back to work.” Terry reminded, “Rosa stop doing your work.”
“Fine, whatever.” She gave up, saving the document onto her desktop then just laid back in her chair to wait for you.
————
“Bye, Rosa.” Jake grins. Rosa grumbles, putting her jacket on while you went to press the lift button.
“You know, I love you but I don’t see how having you take a detour to go home with me will keep either of us safer.”
“Okay, but it did shut them up, didn’t it?”
Rosa chuckles, “Didn’t you have something on?”
“I did. But I decided not to go.”
“I’m a little afraid to ask, but why?”
“That’s a problem for another day. You just focus on resting today.” You told her.
“y/n.” She warned.
“The guy’s a douchebag.” You gave in, “Apparently he orders the most expensive thing on the menu then makes his date pay every time. And he doesn’t exactly take no for an answer, if you get what I mean.”
“Okay, that’s good- don’t ever feel like you need to go on dates because you don’t want to cancel on people.”
“I know.” You assured, “How are you feeling?”
“Never felt this sick in 10 years.” She snorted, “But, I bounce back quick.”
“That’d be right.” You stifled a laugh, “I’ll make us some soup when we get back- and you, take a shower and get into bed.”
“Yes, ma’am.” She joked, “I’m tough.”
“Oh, there’s no denying that.” You put an arm around her, and you see a tiny little smile tug on her lips, “You are tough. You’re a badass.”
“I mean, so are you, y’know?” She continues.
“Barely.”
“Please, you’re my daughter. I taught you everything you know. You’re a badass too, mamita.”
“Oh, boy we need to get you into bed.”
“y/n, I’m not trying to be funny.”
“You realise none of my dates have went well so far?”
“So? It’s not your fault the people who’ve tried to take you out are jerks or you just didn’t vibe with them.”
“Maybe I’m the problem.”
“No one’s perfect but you can’t say that because I see you as you are and I can confidently say you’re a good person.” Rosa spoke tiredly, “There are plenty of people in the city. You’ll meet someone before you know it.”
“You mean it?”
“Fuck do you mean? Of course I do.” She answered straightforwardly, “Don’t be so hard on yourself.”
“Ah…I guess after three suckish dates in a row, my confidence has taken a hit. But thanks, Mom.”
The rest of your walk home was rather quiet with Rosa trying to keep warm in this chilly weather while her body temperature rose. So, once you both got home, you quickly turned the heat up so she would be more comfortable. “I’m gonna take a shower now, then I’m off to bed.”
“Good, you’d better. I’ll wake you up when the food’s done so you can eat some then take something for your fever.”
“Okay, honey.” Rosa rolled her eyes playfully, “Be careful.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
“I said that first.”

Always you
Pairing: Niko Vilhelm (Moilanen) x reader
Wordcount: 1100+
Summary: Your anxiety makes you distance yourself from Niko and the rest of the band.
Masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You were traveling with the boys while they were touring Europe and everything had seemed to go alright so far. You were in Bulgaria and they guys couldn’t be happier with the alcohol prices and they had made sure you all had gone out over and over again, not letting it go to waste.
You and Niko had been dating for quite some time now, and he wanted you there when he was touring. You got a job that allowed you to work from anywhere, so you were eager to come with. Niko loved having you so close, even though the guys made fun of him for it.
So here you were, sitting outside a cafe, enjoying the beautiful weather and the cheap drinks. The guys had all ordered beers, while you had opted for a cocktail. “Oh here we go again, Y/N has to be expensive.” Joel said. You knew he was only joking but it made you regret your decision. So as soon as you could sneak away for a second you went over to the bar. “Could you change that cocktail to tap water, please?” “Of course, no problem.” The bartender said. You thanked them and made your way back to the band.
You knew Niko would never let you pay for your drinks, so making them as cheap as possible was a good alternative. As the drinks were brought to your table, Niko noticed what you had done. “No cocktail?” He asked. “I wasn’t feeling it after all.” You said, smiling at him, trying to disguise the true reason.
About a week ago you started to feel like you were interrupting and annoying the guys. Niko still made you feel as loved as ever, but you felt like the others didn’t want you around. And with every ‘funny’ comment they made, that feeling only got worse.
“You guys wanna go on a tour on an ATV?” Joel asked as he put his phone down on the table. “I just checked, there’s a tour not far from here.” “Sounds good. Do we get to go through mud and stuff?” Joonas wondered. “Yeah, there’s a whole trail to follow.” “Cool. Count me in.” Tommi said. “But Y/N probably doesn’t wanna come.” olli more said than asked. You got frustrated. “Maybe ask me instead of making an assumption.” You murmured. “You can come if you want.” Aleksi said.
You stood up from your seat. “No, you guys go ahead. I’ll do something by myself.” You said rather annoyed. You kissed Niko, then grabbed your bag and started walking away. To where? You didn’t know. You were in unfamiliar territory. But you needed to get away from the guys.
After about twenty minutes you had made your way back to your hotel. As you entered yours and Niko’s room, you sat down on the bed looking around the room. Maybe you should just go home. Leave the boys to enjoy their tour by themselves. You didn’t feel particularly wanted.
Maybe you made a rash decision, but you started packing up your suitcase. Once everything was packed, you wrote a short note to Niko, telling him you would see him when the tour was over. You laid the piece of paper on the bed and looked around the room once more, making sure you didn’t forget anything.
You made your way over to the front desk. “How may I help you?” The hotel receptionist asked kindly. “I’m going home, but my boyfriend is staying. I just want to return my card.” You handed her the keycard. She looked at you sadly, like she knew what was going on. “I hope you enjoyed your stay.” “Sure. It was fine. Thank you.” “You have a lovely day now.” She said as you turned away from her.
You made your way to the train station, where you bought a ticket to go home. You had always preferred trains over planes. Even though it would take you longer to get home, you decided the trip would do you good. You would have time to think things through.
You walked to the platform and sat down. It would be at least two hours before the train would arrive, so you sat down patiently, spending your time reading from your kindle.
It took half an hour before Niko called you. You wanted to ignore it, but you knew that wasn’t fair to him. “Hey.” You breathed. “Where are you?” “I’m going home. You guys should spend some time together without me being there.” “Are you kidding me? We’re all worried sick about you.” “Don’t worry. We’ll see each other when your tour is over.”
“No. No way.” You could almost see him racking his fingers through his hair. “Why are you doing this?” “I’ll only be disturbing you guys. You want to do this together, not with me there.” “Babe, they want you here. I want you here.” You closed your eyes for a second as you felt tears pricking in the corners of your eyes. “Niko, this is for the best. I love you.” And then you hung up.
Your phone kept ringing after that, not only from Niko but also from the others. You ignored them all.
It wasn’t until fifteen minutes before your train would show up, that you heard your name being called. “Y/N?” It came from behind you. You recognized that voice anywhere. You put your ereader down and stood up. “Niko.” You murmured. “Why would you just leave like that?” You took a shaky breath. “Because I’m only interrupting you guys' fun. You don’t want me here. None of you do.”
“What makes you say that?” He walked closer to you, grabbing your hands in his own. “I just feel like I don’t belong here.” “Baby, you’re the only thing that makes sense to me. The only one I always want around.” You looked in his eyes to see if there was any sign of deception. “The guys may make fun sometimes, but they want you here as well. They say you keep them sane. You’re always there for them when they need someone to talk to. You make us all laugh with your humor and smile at your kindness. Please don’t ever feel like you’re too much.”
You didn’t realize you were this important to them. A single tear fell from the corner of your eye and Niko wiped it away. “Please come back with me?” You couldn’t speak, your throat closed up by your emotions, but you nodded at him. He immediately grabbed you into his arms, kissing the top of your head.

Killer In NYC
Tara Carpenter X Reader
Tumblr media
Part 4 -Suspicious
3rd Person POV
"You'd think Gale would've went into retirement after Dewey died." Mindys comment went unheard as she looked around.
Tara was still tending to Y/N, making sure the taller girl wasn't in pain.
Sam had taken David outside to "talk" along with Chad.
She felt a smirk begin to grow on her lips as she watched the two. Tara's hands were resting on the baristas shoulders as she laid down. She watched as they'd glanced to each others lips before their eyes would shoot back up to stare at the other. She kept watching as they'd leaned in before she cleared her throat. The two jumped slightly both faces red as they looked down.
Ship or not, Tara does still have a boyfriend.
"Talk about tension."
Detective Brooks sighed rubbing his eyes as he downed his cup of coffee.
His mind replaying the events that had just occurred as he stood above the lifeless body of a young boy.
His colleagues found the body of the young woman in the theater once they cleared the building. None of the patrons had realized the girl was dead until they had heard the screams from outside. They had run out seeing the scene before they tried to barricade themselves in the theater, resulting in more chaos and injuries.
Paramedics had to tend to half of the theater as they tried to trample each other.
He already knew his boss was going to tear into him once he stepped foot in the station.
Two kids dead and a serial killer on the loose.
He looked to the overhead screen in Times Square.
Gale Weathers not a mere ten feet away.
Fucking reporters.
"Detective Brooks what do you plan to do now that the killer has made his presence public?"
He gritted his teeth, seeing the black haired woman stride up to him.
"When do you plan to release information on the death of Carly?"
He felt himself grow still, somewhat surprised of what the reporter knew.
Her steps and stride were confident as she prepared to interview him.
"Look Weathers I know all about you and right now I'm not in the mood to give you more material for your book."
He stared into the camera as looked to the cameraman behind her.
"No further questions."
Gale looked down as her phone rang as well as many others surrounding her.

She pressed play as did everyone else. Frank Sinatra's voice singing throughout the city as the screens began to replay the recent kill on a loop.
I wanna be a part of it

Unfortunately, the death of your friends doesn't cancel classes. Which is how Sasha and Tara found themselves in a late Wednesday afternoon lecture with Professor Freddie.
Mindy and Chad had agreed to return to class as well believing it to be slightly safer than waiting around to get slaughtered.
Y/n was released and currently resting in her apartment she was due back at work no later than the following week. Evan swearing to keep the shop running while she was out.
The girls had gone the whole hour paying attention and actively taking notes before he had called them down.
"Now I do want to apologize for the unfortunate events that have occurred, but I just ask if you guys wouldn't mind going over your experience for class purposes?"
Tara stared at the man incredulous as Sasha spoke up.
"Please tell me you're fucking joking." The professor stroked his beard laughing a bit as he leaned back on his desk.
"You're in criminal psychology girls. This is the very core of what we're learning, we as a class may even help you discover who the killer may be." Tara scoffed.
"As if the press outside isn't bad enough, now I can't even trust my fucking teacher."
Sasha stepped closer to the man.
"It sure would be a shame if word got out about you and some of your extra curricular activities with certain students now wouldn't it?" She leaned in a her lips no more than an inch away from the older man's face.
"Especially when one of those students is dead." Tara's eyes widened but she fixed her expression before he could notice.
Sasha turned her hair almost smacking the man in the face. "Let's go Tara."
The shorter girl followed her friend to the courtyard.
They sat at the nearest bench most of the areas blocked off by caution tape and news reporters.
"Tara!" The brunette felt herself grow still at the sound of the familiar voice.
She turned to see none other than Gale Weathers.
"Gale." She was almost happy to see her until she'd seen her blue suit and the cameraman behind her.
Tara sighed as Sasha stiffened again.
Her teeth grinding as she spoke exhaling slowly.
"Are you fucking kidding me?"
Tara tapped her shoulder to calm the girl.
"Go I can handle this." She looked to the shorter girl in surprise.
"You sure?" She nodded going to her.
"Sasha!" Mindy and Chad ran up to her, the massive man picking her up and twirling her around in a hug.
She laughed still somewhat tense as Mindy stiffened as well,
"Hey is that-" Chad straightened up as he went to stand behind Tara who seemed to be getting upset at whatever Gale was telling her.
Mindy following shortly after.

Kirby was waiting for her cousin in the film room. She had received a text saying she needed her help with a project.
A thud nearby made her jump, the sound of a lock turning putting her on edge.
She ran to the room next to her hiding behind the wall.
Heavy footsteps echoed throughout the hall as the TV's in the room before her began to turn on.
Every screen showing Ghostface smiling and waving at the screen. She leaned in closer seeing a familiar head of blonde hair standing by a television news van.
Not too far off screen Gale Weathers in a heated argument with Tara and the twins. Chad standing protectively in front of a tara who looks close to tears. She banged on the clear window before her screaming for her cousin as the vans door began to slide open slowly.
One gloved hand pulling her ponytail as the other grabbed her dragging her in. The van shook for just a moment before no further movements were made.
Kirby screamed as tears ran down her face, the TV screens turning black as the transmission was cut off.
Bang!
Ghostface appeared from nowhere and slapped the glass. Head tilted as they waved the knife around almost mocking the blonde.
She turned and ran to the nearest door, relived to find it open but still panicking as she wasn't confident on her location.
She hid behind a shelf of videos as a door to the left swung open.
The same heavy boots walking closer, stopping once as she assumed the killer looked around. Resuming their footsteps as they opened another door. The second she heard the door shut, she made a run for it.
A gloved hand holding a knife swung back before plunging forward. Kirby felt a sharp pain and sobbed, she tried pushing the figure away but they were too big. The killer pulled the knife out before swinging again. Kirby's body collapsing as they repeated the motions one right after the other. Blood running from the girls mouth like a waterfall as the killer stood back to admire their work.
Some specks of blood decorating the mask. They took their phone out taking a picture of the body before they fled the scene.
Tara POV
"Are you fucking kidding me Gale?! You go all people should know-"
"Guys!" All of us turned to Mindy. "Where's Sasha?"
"Sasha!" I looked around frantic as Gale looked too.
Chad and Mindy retracing their steps.
I looked down to see some blood pooling to my foot. I followed the path to Gales van, she looked at me before inching forward. Her hand shaking as she went to open the door. Just as it opened a body fell forward.
I felt my scream stop itself short in my throat as I covered my mouth in horror.
There was Sasha eyes wide in fear and one long cut made from ear to ear.
Tears began to fall down my cheeks as I realized I wouldn't have her to get me through long classes or defend me whenever someone had gone too far.
I looked across the yard to see Professor Freddie looking in my direction.

Summer Kisses, Winter Tears
Chapter Three - Immeasurable Love and Teetering on the Brink
Previous Chapter Next Chapter
18+
Gale Cleven x OC, Winnie Egan
Summary - Winnie and Gale are in love, what else can I say?
Warnings - Cheating and age gap
Winnie is bitter as she dresses for another cold, rainy, and foggy day. She wears black trousers and tucks one of her own gray sweaters into the waistband. She ties her hair back into a French braid—the best option for her curls to avoid the rain, as she misses the heatwaves of August in the States. She misses the warm, humid summers in Manitowoc and the dry, oppressive heat in Texas, even if both were unbearable some days. Winnie hums a tune to herself as she's alone; the Red Cross girls left for their shift while Winnie showered. She slips her arms into her thick wool coat and shoves her feet into the black rubber rain boots she acquired when they first arrived in England—tucking her trousers into the boots to keep them from getting wet.
She wonders if the mission is going to be scrubbed for the day because of the weather when she steps out of the barrack—instantly enveloped by the fog and the drizzle of rain on her head and shoulders. Winnie shoves her hands into her jacket pockets as she treks through the mud to the airfield; she always has to wish her boys good luck.
She looks for John first, wondering which crew he is joining for the mission. She walks by each hard stand and then breaks out into a smile as she sees Mugwump's crew sitting under the fort—John lying back against the landing gear and reading a book. "Aw, Crank you drew the short stick?" She calls as she walks up, making the men look at her. "Or did you do something bad enough to make Harding dump Johnny on you?"
Crank laughs and rolls his eyes, "Reserve Command Pilot is the bullshit title he's got today, can you believe that?"
Winnie giggles and looks to John, "Sounds real important, Major." His eyes squint when he grins up at her.
"Well, that's why they gave it to me. I'm the best." He winks at her as he sits up and brings himself to his feet—ducking down because of the wing until he walks out from under it and stands to his full height in front of Winnie. She looks up at him as he puts a hand on her back and leads her a bit away from the fort to give them privacy.
"Look, we're gonna be gone for a few days." John runs a hand over his jaw with a sigh. "Goin' to Africa, Algeria. Maybe I'll see a lion or somethin'." He jokes easily.
"Lions don't live that far north, Johnny." She tells him, which makes him shrug and grin. She shakes her head fondly. "But, if you do, take a picture, would ya? And please don't try to pet it."
John laughs loudly and pulls her into a hug, kissing the top of her head, and she wraps her arms around his middle. She presses her face to his sheepskin and breathes in; the smell of John's aftershave is strongest, followed by oil and a hint of gunpowder. She smiles as she finds it comforting—and gives him a squeeze before she pulls away, murmuring, "Love you."
His smile is soft and genuine, something only reserved for her and Gale when he looks down at her. "Love ya, Bunny. Keep outta trouble."
Winnie laughs, "Take your own advice, Johnny." She shakes her head again, then peaks around John to wave at the crew with a grin. "See you guys!"
A chorus of 'goodbyes' and 'see ya Winnie' follows her as she walks away; she's grateful for the fog that swallows her after a few feet as she walks the Our Baby. She chews on her lip as the fort and men come into view—a group with Father Teska. Gale stands away from them with another figure. It takes her a second, and as she gets closer, she realizes it's Curt.
Winnie hears their farewells, and Curt walks her way. He arches an eyebrow once he's near her—the gears in his head working, then a slow smirk spreading across his face. He glances over his shoulder back at Gale, then looks at Winnie. She wishes the cold could be blamed for her red cheeks, but she is blushing and bites her lip harder.
Once they are passing side-by-side, he leans in close and says, "Didn't know you're that type of dame, Short Stack."Winnie bristles and stops to look up at him; he meets her eyes for a second before he continues back to his fort. She could see the humor shining in Curt's eyes but also a bit of contempt. Winnie is not happy with the implication of his comment. Her heart picks up with fear that he might tell John that he knows in general. Winnie watches his figure disappear into the fog as Gale walks to her.
"Did Bucky tell you?" Gale asks, completely unaware of what Winnie just witnessed from Curt.
She blinks away her thoughts and looks up at Gale, his presence makes all of her worries fade away. She nods, "I'm going to miss you dearly." She admits with doe eyes and a pout and watches as his hard, "Major Cleven" expression melts and softens for her. His hand twitches at his side like he wants to reach out to her—she wants him to.
A muscle ticks in his jaw. "I'll miss you too. More than you can know." He sighs, his eyes never leaving hers as they are quiet for a long beat of silence—exchanging unspoken 'I love you's.
"Come back to me," Winnie says quietly. It's the best goodbye she can give him, and it's still not a goodbye. It is a request for him to return. Something he can never guarantee, but he nods—resolute. She fights the urge to kiss him as she turns around, walking away from him as the green flare shooting into the sky barely breaks through the fog. A signal of her anxiety returning to her stomach—a heavy weight that drags her down.
The base learns that night of the heavy losses, 11 out of 21. Winnie was worried until it was confirmed John and Gale made it. When they said Curt and Dickie went down, she felt a disgusting flicker of relief before she was overwhelmed by guilt and sorrow. Curt was always kind and funny, maybe the funniest person she'd ever met besides John.
The weather is awful during the days John and Gale are in Algeria, and that makes it harder for Winnie to feel joy. Helen teases her relentlessly while they are alone as she believes Winnie is sad because she is missing Gale. Winnie can't bring herself to admit the real reason, so she hides herself in the infirmary with Maggie. Doc Stover had given Winnie permission to start helping around more as she pleased, and she surprised everyone with her ability to learn relatively quickly.
Winnie tends to a superficial laceration a lieutenant received during a training exercise; she listens with a smile as she lets the man speak about his family back home. He had lit up when she asked him if he had family in the States—he started telling her about his incredible wife who works at the Boeing plant in Seattle. Winnie listens in awe of this woman who builds their B-17s all day; he speaks of her with such love that Winnie feels slightly jealous. She wishes her relationship with Gale didn't have to be a secret, that they could love each other so openly.
"Sounds like you're both lucky to have each other." She smiles as she secures the last bit of gauze. The lieutenant blushes a bit as he nods and thanks her. She gathers the supplies and waste, cleaning up her space as he goes on his way. Winnie perks up when she hears the telltale roar of the fort engines in the distance growing louder as they approach. She washes her hands after disposing of the medical waste and then lets Maggie know she is heading off.
Winnie makes a pit stop in a washroom to make sure her hair isn't unruly. She smooths a hand over her dress, a pretty pink one with a white cardigan, because Gale would be back today. She smiles a little at her reflection, giddy to see him. By the time Winnie leaves the infirmary, the transport trucks have brought all the men back to base—the sun hanging just barely over the horizon and casting pretty hues of pink and orange in the sky.
She looks for Gale first, her fingers fidgeting with the skirt of her dress. "Bunny!" John shouts happily with a big grin as he makes his way over to her. He wraps her up in a tight hug and asks loudly, "Did ya miss me?"
"Course I did, Johnny." Winnie laughs and returns his hug, noticing his sunburnt nose. She imagines his shoulders are fiery red, making her freckles darker. "And you missed me."
John pulls away, still grinning, "I'm gonna shower, then head to the pub with the fellas. I'll see ya at breakfast." He kisses her cheek before he heads off towards his barrack. She feels a twinge of sadness that he's running off so quickly, but then her eyes land on Gale, and she's glad that John is going to the pub.
Gale's eyes are already on hers, and he nods. It is a simple gesture to say that he'll be with her in a moment. Winnie does a lap around a couple of the buildings to keep herself from standing right outside the equipment hut. However, she still looks ridiculous hanging around. Gale is out of the building reasonably quick and always punctual. Winnie smiles as he's without his flight gear now, in his pinks and greens with his brown leather jacket since it's warm enough not to wear his sheepskin. Her smile falls a little once he's close enough for her to see the minor cuts on the left side of his face; she fights to hide her worry.
Most of the men are occupied, so Winnie and Gale walk away together, not bothering to stagger their departures but still keeping their bodies a respectable distance from each other as they walk.
His hand goes straight to her waist once they walk into the tree line, and she shivers at the simple touch. She really missed him; four days felt like an eternity apart. Gale filled her every thought through the days, wondering what he was doing and if he missed her as well. Winnie looks up towards him, watching his profile as his lips twitch up into a smile—his eyes slide down to meet hers.
"I missed you, darling." He murmurs as if reading her thoughts, and she smiles sheepishly. His free hand reaches up to cup her cheek, and she closes her eyes for a brief moment.
"I missed you terribly, Gale," Winnie admits quietly and leans into his body as they reach the field. Gale removes his arm from around her to grab the blanket and throw it out onto the ground. He takes her hand as she slips off her kitten heels, then helps her to the ground while he sits beside her. He holds his arms open for her, and Winnie basically throws herself into his embrace—pressing her body to Gale's as he lies back, bringing her with him by his hold on her waist.
He moves a hand from her waist, cups the side of her neck, and makes her tilt her head back to look at him. Gale leans close, letting his breath fan out over her lips—she lets them apart in anticipation. Winnie shivers and closes her eyes as she whispers, "Please."
Gale ghosts his lips along hers, tongue dipping out to lick against her bottom lip, and she lets out a little whimper. She can hear the smirk in his voice when he whispers, "I've got you, darling." His lips are on hers, and he presses her body closer to her waist. Their lips work together in a languid, passionate kiss. Gale's tongue slips into her mouth, and she moves hers to meet his.
Winnie moans into his mouth when Gale moves his thigh between her legs and pulls her along the firm muscle by her hip. Her hands fist his shirt as she rocks her hips slowly, the friction giving her a bit of reprieve. Their lips part with a wet smack, a string of saliva connecting them for a brief second, then splits as he kisses Winnie's jaw and her neck.
She lets out soft puffs of air as she continues rocking her hips; her fingers move to swiftly take off his tie—tossing it aside before making quick work of the small buttons of his shirt. Winnie lets out a moan when he sucks at the hinge of her jaw. "Gale, no marks." She breathes out the reminder. She wants nothing more than to be covered in the marks of his passion and love, but it's not possible.
He grunts in response and laves his tongue over the spot. She pushes his shirt off of his shoulders, and he helps get it the rest of the way off, and it's tossed aside like his tie. Winnie runs her hands over his suntanned shoulders, noting how warm the skin is from the sun. She lets her nails graze down his chest, through the light blond hairs on his pecs, then down to his abdomen—smirking a little as he shivers above her.
Her hands work on his belt as Gale flips them so he's hovering over her on his knees between her legs. "You look pretty today, darling, in this little dress." He murmurs as he sits back to admire her—she blushes as he looks over her dress and then meets her gaze with soft eyes. Gale starts pushing her dress up; she sits up a bit to let him pull the zipper down, then lifts the dress over her head. He bites his bottom lip as he takes her in, then says, "Even prettier without it."
Gale captures Winnie's lips in a searing kiss, running his hands along her soft thighs, up her hips and waist, reaching around to release her bra with the flick of one hand. She brings the straps down and chucks it aside, not caring where any of the clothes land. Gale finishes the task of unbuckling his belt before unbuttoning his slack and sliding the zipper down. Winnie nips hungrily at his plush bottom lip, and he pulls away to push his slacks and briefs down.
Winnie takes the opportunity to take her own underwear off and wraps her legs back around Gale's hips. "Please, I need you. I miss you so much." She babbles desperately, and he squeezes her thigh.
"I'll take care of you, darling." He looks into her eyes, and she nods, trying to find some patience. Gale keeps her gaze as he leans down to her body and presses kisses along her chest, between the valley of her breasts, a hand moving up to swipe his thumb over her nipped before taking the whole breast in his hand and massaging it. She lets out a soft sigh and arches her back from the ground into his touch.
Gale kisses down her stomach, over her navel, and to her pelvis. He presses a kiss to each of her hip bones and nips lightly, continuing down to her parted legs, and she is confused by his actions. She's about to ask him what he's doing when his tongue slips through her wetness, and she gasps, hips jerking away. His hands hold her hips into place as he licks at her again, tongue swirling around her bundle of nerves, her clit she learned. Winnie had overheard some of the girls talking a few weeks ago and learned more than she thought was possible. They had talked about what Gale is doing now but she didn't believe men really did this.
Winnie lets out a long moan when Gale's lip wraps around her clit, and he sucks lightly. Her hand tangles in his hair, tugging him closer while also trying to wiggle away. He holds her perfectly in place, his tongue moving lower and dipping into her pussy, causing her to bite her lip. Winnie thinks this must be the closest thing to heaven on earth, this pure electrifying pleasure.
She writhes and moans as he works his tongue in and out slowly before turning his attention back to her clit. She whines and rocks her hips against his face as the coil in her stomach tightens. "Gale, I'm going to—" she doesn't finish as she cries out a moan as her orgasm takes over her senses, vision blurring to black, all sounds fading out, and her toes curling. She knows she has a vice-like grip on his hair, but he doesn't complain or stop until she comes down from her high. Gale presses gentle kisses and nips to her inner thighs before he kisses up her body. When she opens her eyes, his chin is slick with her wetness, and she would blush if it hadn't felt quite so extraordinarily groundbreaking.
"Tastes as sweet as candy." Gale breathes with a smirk. Winnie doesn't mind when he presses his lips to hers in a passionate kiss, and she tastes herself on his tongue; he wasn't wrong, she realizes with a whine in her throat. His tongue slides along hers as she feels his cock slip through her wet folds, coating the length with a few short thrusts. He holds her thigh with his left hand while using the right to guide his cock into her pussy. They both moan into each other's mouths when his tip pushes inside.
Winnie digs her nails into his shoulders and spreads her legs wider, heels of her feet pressing into his ass to get him to sink in completely. He takes the hint and puts his right hand on her thigh, tilting her hips back as he pushes in until they are flush together.
She takes in a breath and rolls her hips against him, letting him know she's ready and that she doesn't need time to adjust. He starts slow like always, though, gentle as ever with her, barely pulling his hips back before pushing back in—each pull of his hips brings more force to his thrusts.
He presses his face to her chest, kissing and nipping at the cool, sweat-damp skin. She tangles a hand in the hair at his nape, holding him close. "Feels good, darling," he murmurs on her skin, "always need you. Missed you so much. I love you."
She barely comprehends his sweet words as she's lost in her own pleasure. His hands slide along her skin to hold her waist as he thrusts into her at a steady pace—it is perfect, and her walls flutter around his cock, causing a strangled moan to leave his chest.
In this moment, Winnie knows Gale is as down bad for her as she is for him and she feels powerful. This strong man, a United States Army Air Force Major, a seasoned bomber pilot, is moaning against her skin and gripping her waist so tight that she knows she'll bruise. He loves her, and that's all she's ever wanted.
When she's wrapped in his embrace, and they are enveloped by their passion, they can forget about the outside world, the war, Gale's responsibilities, the odds against him, her brother’s descent into whatever darkness has a hold of him… They can simply be two lovers making love during the sunset and well into the night, and Winnie and Gale do just that.
-
Winnie's birthday at the end of August arrives with the fanfare of a national holiday. It's a beautiful, blue sky day, made even better with her boys staying on the ground. John had convinced Harding to let Winnie go up in a fort for a little joy ride or flight at her request. If Winnie didn't know any better, she'd swear Harding is just a big softy for her and his crews.
That's how she finds herself behind the yoke yet again on her birthday; Gale sat in the lead pilot/s seat to her left, and John coaching from over her shoulder. She doesn't think Harding knows this was the plan; John probably swore she would sit in the bombardier's seat in the nose—just a passenger.
She's grinning, and her cheeks hurt, but that doesn't make her stop. She's too giddy—having the time of her life. Winnie risks a glance at Gale, and her heart does a flip; he gazes at her with such adoration, and she has to look away as her cheeks flush.
She understands why John and Gale love flying as much as they do. It's peaceful and serene, the blue sky spread out in all directions. Nothing but white fluffy clouds to keep you company, much too high to be joined by birds or any other living thing.
Winnie's mind drifts from the picturesque view she has to what it must be like over the skies of Europe. She had overheard some men describe the living hell they went through. The flak tearing through the hull of the fort, nearly slicing clean through them; the way the flak lightens up or completely stops just before you hear the sound of a German fighter's artillery puncturing along the fort. But Winnie isn't over Europe; she's flying over to England with her brother and the man she loves. The three of them are happy at this moment—and that's all she needs to push aside the terrors in her mind.
Winnie eventually gives control back to Gale and watches as he gets a playful smirk. She squeals and laughs as he buzzes the tower; John laughs loudly, "Always gotta show off, huh, Buck?"
"It's her birthday, John. Gotta do something memorable." Gale keeps smirking for a moment as if he's thinking of something.
John doesn't seem to notice as he hums, "You're still a show-off."
Winnie rolls her eyes and smiles, "I thought it was fun." She says she's happy as can be. She's trusted to help Gale through the landing—flipping switches when he says and confirms her actions.
John helps her out of the fort when they've taxied into the hard stand, holding her by the waist as he sets her onto her feet; she is still grinning. "Thank you, Johnny. I will never get tired of that."
He smiles, and he lets her go as Gale hops down from the hatch. "Well, I'd say it's about time to get ready for the party." He says after straightening up.
Winnie smiles and nods. "I would say so; you better be ready to dance tonight, Johnny. It's a birthday request." She smiles even more prominent when he does a goofy little shake of his shoulders and snaps her fingers.
"Oh, I was born ready, Bunny!" John grins, his eyes squinting, and she giggles at him.
Later, she stands in the officer's club, which is decorated to the nines for her birthday. John gifted her a darling pink dancing dress for today, and she wears it proudly, feeling special. She sips on a cola while she catches her breath after a long dancing session with John. He stayed on the dance floor with another gal while Winnie walked back over to Gale.
She looks up at him and smiles, uncaring if someone sees her. "You'll dance with me one day." She says it quietly, just loud enough for him to hear. It's not a question or a request but a statement. Winnie knows she'll convince him in the future.
The corners of his mouth curl up around his toothpick. "Will I?' He asks.
Winnie nods and bats her lashes at him for good measure. "You will, for me." She swears he's going to lean in and kiss her, but John walks up out of breath, and he's chuckling. He reaches for his whiskey in between Gale and Winnie—she takes a step back to give him space.
Gale gives her a look while John tips his head back down the whiskey; she knows the look well enough after all these weeks, and she gives him a little nod.
"I'm turning in for the night, Bucky. Don't have too much fun without me." Gale pats his shoulder, and John starts to protest, but Winnie pulls his attention away.
"Johnny, can you get me another cola?" She pouts as she shakes her empty bottle, and his eyes land on her, letting Gale sneak away. John is drunk; Winnie knew that about four songs ago when his footwork got sloppy during a simple foxtrot. He is easily distracted by her request, and he takes her empty bottle before walking to the bar; just as Winnie suspected, he gets drawn into a conversation with a few guys.
Winnie leaves the club and smiles as Gale is waiting for her with his hands in his pockets. She sneaks a glance around, and once satisfied, she loops her hand through his arm and holds on to him as they walk.
Gale leads them to a quieter spot on base, closer to the women's barracks, and between two buildings where they are less likely to be spotted. Winnie slips her hand from his arm, and he moves in front of her; she looks up at him and sees apprehension in his eyes. He's nervous, she realizes, and moves closer to him. "Gale, what is it?"
He looks into her eyes; his expression is soft. "There's something I want to give you for your birthday." He starts reaching into his pocket.
"You didn't have to get me anything." She says as she watches him, a little surprised. Everything is being heavily rationed—what could he have possibly gotten for her?
"I didn't. I've had this for a long time, actually." Gale clears his throat, a bit of emotion creeping into his voice. "It was my mother's."
Winnie's eyes widen as he pulls out a ring. It has a large oval diamond in a delicate, detailed, Edwardian platinum setting. Tears prick her eyes as she looks from the ring to Gale's eyes.
"When she passed away, this was the one thing I hid from my dad. I couldn't let him gamble this away." His eyes shine with emotion, and she reaches up to cup his cheek; he closes his eyes and leans into her touch.
"Gale, I can take this," Winnie whispers, shaking her head. "It's too much. Too important to you."
He opens his eyes to meet her again. "Winnie, you are important to me. I want you to keep it safe for me now." He bites his lip before he continues. "Until I complete my 25th. It's my vow to always come back to you until I get you a ring of your own and make a different vow."
Winnie has tears flowing down her cheeks now. She lets out a little sniffle and nods. "Okay, I'll keep it safe." Her heart and mind race as she processes what he said. He wants to marry her, make her his wife—and she couldn't be any happier.
He gently takes her left hand and slips the ring onto her ring finger— a perfect fit. She sniffles and looks up at him before he presses his lips to hers. He holds her face in both hands and kisses her like he can prove all of his love with the movement of his lips—she thinks he might be able to.
When their lips part, Gale is smiling down at her like she hung the moon. His thumbs swipe the tears from her cheeks then he takes her hand and walks her to her barrack. It's late enough that they won't get caught, but neither of them cares so much at the moment. He gives her a quick kiss on her cheek and makes sure Winnie gets inside the barrack before he departs.
For the first night in a long time, Winnie dreams of a future. A lovely future—she and Gale are older; they stand on a porch with Gale's arm around her waist and his other hand rubbing her noticeable baby bump. She hears high-pitched giggling and John's laughs in the distance. Her eyes land on her big brother, who is grinning as he chases a little one through the grass.

The whole base is a buzz for Major Dye and the crew of Sunny II's 25th mission; if they return, they will be the first crew to make it to 25. It's a stark reminder that no crews have managed it yet, but it will also be proof that it can be done. Winnie sits on the hood of a jeep between Croz and Brady, with Blakely sat in the driver's seat and Hambone sitting in the back with a couple other guys; they're surrounded by some of the newer replacements that Winnie hasn't had much of a chance to learn their names.
It's a beautiful late summer day, and most of the men wear their A2 rather than their heavy sheepskin, along with their aviator sunglasses. They are what America pictures when they think of the Air Force. Winnie wears a light green dress with a white floral pattern—teeny little flowers covering it—and her classic kitten heels. Her curls stay loose for the day, hanging perfectly down her back. She'd say a good hair day is a pretty good omen for the whole day if she was superstitious.
Her eyes scan the sky for any sign of the forts, but they are still clear blue. The guys chat around her, but they don't draw her attention until Brady nudges her with her elbow, and she blinks at him. Brady just nods his head back towards the guys sitting in the jeep, so she turns her body to look at them.
"Didn't John sleep with that girl, Lil? I can't believe Dye is head over heels for her." One of the new guys says, motioning toward Lil. She watches the sky with worry on her face. Winnie imagines that is how she looks each time Gale and John fly off.
Winnie doesn't like this guy's tone and judgment of Lil. She knows most of the guys in this general vicinity have slept with random women here in England, hell, probably most men on base. She's heard rumors of the married ones doing it too.
"I am not my brother's keeper," Winnie says flippantly, "John is a wild mustang, and I can't keep track of each of his misgivings. Besides, Lil is happy with Dye; her past doesn't matter."
The man hums and nods, "I don't think John can keep track either." He says it with a grin—a physical gesture that proves he thinks it okay for John to sleep around, but not Lil.
Hambone clears his throat and leans forward, "Winnie, do you know if Helen has a beau back home?"
Winnie fights a smirk, keeping her face neutral—maybe putting on her innocent doe eyes, "No, she doesn't, Hammy. Why?"
The men around the jeep teeter on the edge of laughter and jab each other with their elbows. Hambone clears his throat again; his cheeks have gone pink, and he rubs the back of his neck. "Well, she's real pretty and sweet as molasses. I was just wondering if you can introduce me to her?"
Winnie does let out a giggle, "You haven't spoken to her yet, Hammy?" He shakes his head bashfully, and she rolls her eyes fondly. She tells him firmly, "I will ask her if she is interested in a date."
The men cheer and jostle Hambone, and he blushes more. She giggles again and turns forward again, leaning back against the windshield. She can faintly hear the Hambone gushing about how pretty Helen is to someone, and she smiles softly. Winnie closes her eyes and enjoys the warm sun for a moment before honk interrupts her peace.
John pulls up with a Gale in a jeep of their own, and Winnie wonders where the heck he commandeered it from as he doesn't have access to a jeep now. She is not surprised, though. Her eyes follow Gale as he unfolds his long legs after the jeep and walks over with his usual swagger. John and Gale both have their aviator sunglasses on; while John wears his white sheepskin, Gale wears the A2. Winnie has come to love it on Gale as it shows off his broad shoulders and slim hips—less bulky than the sheepskin.
Winnie looks away when his lips curl into a smirk as he's caught her staring. She can hear the men exchanging greetings, and then she moves to get off the hood. Brady and Croz each offer their hand, which she gladly accepts.
"Careful, Short Stack," Brady murmurs, placing his other hand on her back as she steps down and gets her balance.
"Thank you, fellas." She flashes a bright smile at them before walking over to John and Gale, placing herself right in between them—where she belongs. "Aren't you hot in that thing, Johnny?"
"Beauty is pain, Bunny." He smirks, and she snorts; he doesn't even know the have of it.
"Please, as a man, you have it much easier. Besides, you choose to wear the sheepskin in the heat. You'd be much more comfortable in the A2, and you'd still look dapper—attract all the ladies in the village." She wrinkles her nose at the thought, and he laughs loudly.
"You can't convince me to get rid of the jacket, Bunny," John says, reading right through their argument.
She grins and shrugs, "It was worth a try. It looks absolutely filthy as always." She rubs a hand over a particular spot, but it doesn't budge.
"Gives it character!" He grins proudly, and she lets it go just as the crowd erupts into cheers at the sigh of the forts. They turn to watch as Dye's fort swoops low—Winnie covers her ears but grins wildly as they buzz the tower, turning her body to follow the fort and keep watching. The force of the wind whips around them is exhilarating, and she drops her hands from her ears.
Major Dye did it; he completed 25–and if Dye can do it, so can John and Gale. They are the best pilots of the 100th, and they will do it. Winnie looks up at Gale, then John, and smiles; they are laughing about something, and the air is light. There is no stress, no weight of the world on their shoulders at this moment. Winnie brushes her hand against Gale's before she pulls John down by his jacket to kiss his cheek.
The party in the officer's club is the biggest shindig Winnie has seen on base. Everyone is in good spirits and having fun. Quite a few couples dance on the dance floor while Winnie sits between DeMarco and Gale to pet Meatball. She hasn't taken in a single word from any of the guys since Benny sat beside her with Meatball—but she does think of how she wishes she could dance with Gale. It's a feeble dream; she knows Gale doesn't dance—never has, but it's nice to dream of them wrapped up together, swaying to the music.
Winnie adjusts her position in her seat to let her knee press against Gale's. She feels his eyes on her, and she fights a smile as she continues to scratch behind Meatball's ear. She keeps their knees touching for a few minutes before she stands and makes her way to the bar.
Winnie asks for another cola and watches the dance floor. She spots a group of new guys ogling Helen, and she suppresses a laugh—it seems like Helen is popular today. Winnie takes a sip of her coke and watches as another man dances up to them. It's goofy but charming, and she smiles as she watches; when Gale and John approach the group, it feels like the perfect opportunity to meet them as well.
She nears just as the word 'skivvies' leaves the dancer's mouth. Winnie giggles, and their eyes all land on her. The four men blush, especially the dancer, while John and Gale hold in laughter. "Is that any way to speak in front of a lady? Especially when she's my baby sister." John pretends to scold them, but he's grinning and they chuckle nervously.
"Winnie Egan, Mr. Twinkle Toes." Winnie introduces herself with a laugh before they introduce themselves. The dancer, Rosie, looks like he wants the earth to open up and swallow him. She hangs around for a bit once Gale and John depart and looks up at Rosie. She smiles and says, "Trust me, that wasn't as bad of a meeting as you think it was."
Rosie looks a little relieved, but he isn't entirely convinced when she walks away, back to the bar to her boys. Winnie stands between them and sips her cola. The bartender gives John a whiskey; she wonders how many he's had but she doesn't say anything. She never says anything.
Winnie is out of place when Colonel Harding tells everyone near the bar to gather around—a bit squashed between Gale and John, her body presses against Gale's, and she knows she should pull away, but the tight circle around Harding is the perfect excuse to stay close so she does.
She doesn't understand what Harding is going on about. She knows he is very drunk, but he speaks about bombing Hitler, and she realizes he is hammered—probably won't ever remember this conversation in the morning.
"Now whose flak happy?" John's voice rings in her ears and makes her blood go cold. She can't believe he would speak to a superior officer—his commanding officer, with such blatant disrespect. Her eyes flick to Harding, and she trembles as Harding stares down at John. Gale places his hand on her back to steady her, and it grounds her.
"You are," Harding says low and doesn't break eye contact, not intimidated by John.
To Winnie's horror, John doubles down. "No, you are, sir." He taps Harding's chest with the back of his hand for good measure, and Winnie holds her breath—everyone does besides the two men locked into a staring contest.
Gale is tense, but he rubs Winnie's back to ease her nerves. She lets out a breath when Harding starts to laugh, John smiles but it doesn't reach his eyes. Her stomach aches as she watches him. Harding and the rest of the group depart, but Winnie and Gale stay with John.
She listens silently while Gale and John discuss a weekend pass. Gale turns down John's invitation to join him—she can't help but feel a twinge of excitement at the thought of having Gale to herself for two whole days. She bites her lip as she watches Gale walk to Meatball and kiss his head before picking him up. He sways to the music, and Winnie lets herself smile; the scene is too cute.
"I'm telling Marge, Buck!" John quips, and Gale winks at him, but Winnie's smile falls. She thought Gale would have told John about breaking things off with Marge by now—but he hasn't and it puts a bad taste in her mouth. She sips her cola, then kisses John's cheek goodnight and leaves the club.
"Hey, Winnie! Let me walk you to your barrack." Rosie offers with a sweet smile as he makes his way over to her, having walked out just behind her.
"Alright, thank you." She smiles, and they set off towards the women's barracks. She asks about his life back home and is impressed that he was a lawyer who decided to join the war effort. He also asks about her home life, and she tells him her story and John's story—it's always been intertwined like that; John and Winnie Egan are never separate.

A/N I can not thank everyone enough for all of the love and support I have received. You are all magical beings of light and I am beyond grateful to exist on this floating rock with you. I have been moving and unable to write as often as I would like. That being said I decided to make The Christmas Special two parts. I hope you enjoy part one. Peace and love.
December 2021
The boys had finished their shows for the year and were planning to head back home for Christmas. Over the last few months you and Josh had worked out what the new boundaries of your friendship looked like. To some it still seemed to cross the lines of friendships but you didn’t care. You and Josh were both comfortable in your understanding of the relationship. You still felt so deeply for him and at times you could see him reciprocate those feelings. But you had an agreement that neither of you were willing to mess up.
When you weren’t working you were with Josh or the group. The guest room at Jake and Josh’s place was essentially your room. You kept a few articles of clothing there along with some toiletries. At first it was weird sleeping in a separate room, but you both agreed it would be for the best. Josh planned hikes for the two of you on the weekends, weather permitting. You would surprise him with movie nights. Fans had spotted you together and assumed you were his girlfriend. You both just laughed it off. Together you had found a new normal for your relationship.
“What do you mean you don’t have plans for Christmas?! It’s Christmas!” Josh yelled comically over the phone.
“It’s no big deal Josh! Nora and I have never been Christmasy people. Something to do with our shitty childhood I suppose.” You say attempting to make a joke.
“That is unacceptable!” You hear him tapping on his phone. “Guys can you believe Y/N and Nora aren’t doing anything for Christmas?” He asks the guys, you could tell he had placed you on speaker phone.
“Unacceptable!” Sammy mocked Josh.
“I mean it! You guys should come up to Michigan with us!” Josh repeated his earlier offer.
“I have a healthy fear of meeting mama Kiszka!” You chuckle.
“Smart girl!” You hear Jake chime in.
“I am picking you up at noon tomorrow! You both better be packed!” Josh says ending the call.
You huff and walk into Nora’s room throwing yourself down on her bed.
“Time to go play Santa’s little helpers up at the North Pole!” You joke.
“Josh will make a cute elf!” She fires back. You smack her with a pillow.
“He said he will be here at noon so…”
“So be ready by 5 pm!” She said finishing your thought.
Noon rolls around the next day. Knowing better than to expect Josh to be on time. You slowly gather your warmest clothing to pack. Josh had shown you pictures of Frankenmuth. It was a winter wonderland. Something you did not have the wardrobe for. You raided Nora’s closet in search of a heavy coat but no luck. You pack what you deem warm enough and change into some comfy road trip clothes. Still no sign of Josh you gathered some snacks and drinks in a small bag.
From Josh
I am outside!
To Josh
Only three hours late! I am so proud of you!
Be out shortly.
You grab Nora and load into the Jeep. She takes the back to herself. You sit upfront with Josh.
“How long is the drive?” Nora asks.
“About 9 hours.” Josh responds with a yawn.
“Do you want me to start the drive so you can rest?” You ask.
“Absolutely not! What kind of host would I be if I let you drive?” He protests.
“Fine, but if you get too sleepy please tell me BEFORE you run us off the road!”
Nora falls asleep in the back and you keep an eye on Josh for the first few hours. About half way you stop for gas and dinner. Josh insists on paying as always.
“I think I am tapping out.” He says looking over at you.
“Can I drive?” Nora asks. “I am bored as shit sitting back here!”
“Be my guest! Literally!” Josh pleased with his joke, switches spots with Nora. You swear he falls asleep before Nora is even able to put the car in drive. About 45 minutes outside of Frankenmuth you decide to wake him.
“Good morning Sugar.” You say lightly tapping his leg. “Would you like to give us directions to your family’s place?”
“You ladies will be getting the FULL tourist experience. I got us rooms at The Frankenmuth Hotel!” He announces. “The house is too small for all of us to stay in comfortably nowadays so everyone normally gets a hotel anyway.”
You pull up into town, it is covered in a thick blanket of snow. Christmas lights liter the buildings and lamp posts. Giant ornaments hang in windows, resembling Santa’s village more than a Michigan town. You get to the hotel. Josh reserved two rooms one for you and Nora, the other for himself. You settle in for the evening and order room service. Josh joins for dinner in your room.
“I told mom we would be over there before noon tomorrow.” Josh informed you as he said his good nights.
“Josh I will not be late to meet your parents!” You yell as he runs back to his room.
“Chill out!” Nora says as you walk over to your bed. “It’s not like you guys are dating.”
“Thanks for the reminder!” You say crawling into bed.
The next morning came and you were up and getting ready for the festivities of the day. You decided to keep your outfit simple with a pair of light wash Levi’s and a black distressed sweater. You throw on you black hi-top vans, knowing you didn’t have the proper footwear for this weather. It was Christmas Eve and Josh had told you to prepare for drinking, games and lots of food. No presents were to be exchanged until tomorrow. You took the few extra hours to go into town and find some gifts for Christmas Day. You found a small gift for everyone and even had time to wrap them before Nora got up. You were both ready by eleven and you decide to go wake up Josh.
“Joshua Micheal Kiszka…” You began to bang on his door. Nearly fall into him as he threw the door open.
“I have been up for hours waiting for you!” He said sarcastically. He was wearing your favorite jeans and long white sleeve shirt. He paired it with his tan furry parka and white vans. You couldn’t help but stare at how cute his rosey pink cheeks were.
The drive to his Family’s home was long enough that you started to feel your anxiety building. You brought a bottle of wine from what Josh said was his mom’s favorite winery in Nashville. You hoped it would get you some brownie points. He could tell you were nervous so he took your hand, looking at you to make sure it was okay.
“Green.” You say holding his hand. You had implemented a color system to ease communication. Green meant something was good, or deemed friendly. Yellow meant something was on the verge of more than friendly, signaling the initiator to adjust. Red was too much, or deemed romantic. You both found the comedy in this system resembling the one many partners use in the bedroom.
He removes his hand from yours as you pull into the driveway. He gets out first and opens your door for you. Taking your hand he guides you to the front door.
“I am fine, Thanks!” Nora teases Josh as she shuffles her self through the snow behind you.
“Joshie!” You hear Karen yell running to the open front door. She grabs him up and almost lifts his feet off of the ground. “You are so cute! I just want to grab those little cheeks!” She plays, pulling at his face.
“I tell him that all the time!” You chime in, laughing at Josh’s embarrassment.
“Mom, this is Y/N.” Josh says stepping back for you to greet Karen.
“I am so glad to finally meet you! Everyone has told me such great things about you.” Karen said.
“All lies!” Nora joked.
“And this is Nora.” Josh added with a playful roll of his eyes.
“Nora, Jita and Danny have not shut up about you! I am pleased to meet you as well.” Karen hugged you both and thanked you for the wine. You all followed her inside.
“Where is dad?” Josh asked.
“He had to run out to the barn to grab some more fire wood for the evening. Why don’t you go help him before you take off your coat?” Karen suggested. Josh reluctantly went back out into the cold to help Kelly.
“Girls you can set your bags where ever you like. Make yourself comfortable by the fire and I will bring over some hot chocolate.” She gestured toward the living room. You did as you were told. Nora found a seat but you opted to stand in front of the fire to warm up. She brought over two huge mugs filled with warm cocoa, marshmallows and whipped cream.
“Thank you Karen this looks divine!” You say.
“I am just so happy you girls are joining us this year. When Josh told me about your family situation and that you had nowhere to go on Christmas, well… I don’t know who was more eager to invite you? Me or Josh?” She explains.
“Well we are so grateful to be here!” Nora responds.
“Josh doesn’t bring just anybody home.” Karen says nudging you. “You must be pretty special.” She shoots you a playful wink. You hadn’t spoken with Josh about what he had or had not told his parents. You figured they knew your relationship status like everyone else.
“Where is everyone?” You ask attempting to change the subject before relationships were discussed.
“Running late if you can imagine that! Well Danny is with his family, but he will join us for dinner tonight.” Karen explained as Josh came through the door with Kelly. “For once Josh is early! She must be a good one!” Karen said pointing at you.
“She is.” Josh agreed shooting you a wink as he walked over to join you by the fire. He grabbed your mug and began chugging it.
“Red!” You teased him.
“What was that dear?” Karen asked.
“It is a weird game they play. We all just choose to ignore them!” Nora quickly offered an explanation. You mouth “Thank you” to her.
“Girls, I am Kelly. I am sure Karen already said all the formalities so I will keep it short. It is lovely to meet you both. Thanks for helping to keep the boys in line.” Kelly said offering you each a hand shake. You giggled with Nora returning to the couch.
Realizing you were feeling slightly buzzed. “Is there alcohol in this?” You asked pointing to the mug.
“Tons!” Josh popped back laughing at you. A look of concern crossed the faces of both you and Nora. You had already finished one mug each. “We don’t need to repeat the cabin incident, Honey.” Josh said trading your mug for a glass of water.
“What happened at the cabin dear?” Karen asked.
“Someone had a little too much and ended up throwing my clothing out of a window!” Josh jested.
“Too be fair you totally deserved it for being so stubborn!” You bite back.
You continue to sit around the fire and inform his parents about yours lives. Your nerves were completely settled and the conversation was pleasant. The couples eventually made it over and Danny was the last to join.
“Well I will call Ronnie and let her know we are ready to eat! She stayed at a friends house last night.” Karen announced.
Shit you forgot there was still a sister you had to meet. You opted for another mug of hot chocolate that you agreed to split with Josh even though he had a good buzz going already. Ronnie entered the house and everyone stood up to greet her.
“Ronnie, this is Y/N.” Josh introduced you again despite you telling him you could do it yourself.
“Ah, the girlfriend!” She said sarcastically while she nudged Jake.
“Hi, Ronnie its nice to meet you.” You say offering out a hand. She pulls you in for a hug.
“Nice to meet you too! I am grateful my intolerable brother found someone to tolerate him.” She said flashing a toothy grin resembling Josh’s.
“Well on that note, lets eat!” Josh redirected you to the table where you sat next to him.
Dinner was delicious and you all caught one another up on what you had been doing since you last saw each other. Sam and Hannah had been working on some of Hannah’s projects. You insisted that she let you hear some demos before the trip was over.
“I am so happy to have all of my boys home! And I am even more excited to finally outnumber them with women!” Karen toasted. Eliciting a cheer of Woohoos from the table.
You helped Karen clear the table before everyone returned to the living room to play some Christmas games.
“Okay so in this one you have to shake the snow balls out of your butt!” Karen began explaining the game poorly.
“Mom you have officially lost it!” Sam teased, receiving a firm slap to the head from Karen.
“It’s fun I promise!” She responds.
It was one of those games where you tie an empty tissue box to your hips and it is filled with ping pong balls. Who ever shakes out all of their balls first wins. Everyone split up into teams. Karen and Kelly. Jake and Jita. Sam and Hannah. Nora and Danny. Then you and Josh, of course. The girls decided they would take on this first challenge. Kelly starts spinning a Christmas record and the games begin. All of your years working in bars and clubs had thought you the basics of twerking. You knew Nora possessed similar skill set. You both start having a twerk off, cackling at yourselves in the process. You ultimately clear all of your balls first, winning the first round. You sit back down next to Josh still catching your breath.
“I did not know you could do that!” Josh said laughing through a grin.
You wink at him as he stands up to take his turn.
The guys went next which had the women absolutely rolling in laughter. It took them a good fifteen minutes to have a winner. Danny took the round for the boys.
“That’s my guy!” Nora cheered as she smacked a hand against Danny’s ass.
You continued similar silly games until you were all out of breath from laughing so hard.
“This is definitely the best Christmas we have ever had.” You say to Nora.
“And it’s not even Christmas yet!” Sam yells drunkenly.
Josh pulls you into hug. “I am so happy you are here.” He speaks soft enough only you can hear.
“Joshie don’t look now, but there is mistletoe above you.” Karen says in a suggestive tone.
“What do you say, Honey?” He asks you.
“Hmm..” You say as you pretend to think about it. “Green.”
He plants a small kiss on your lips. The whole group cheers.
“Looks like you guys have had some practice!” Sam jests. Nora now being the one to smack him on the back of the head.
“Hey!” Sam retorts.
“Shut up.” Hannah cooed rubbing his head.
Everyone says their goodbyes for the even and returns to their respective hotels. You drive the Jeep back and make sure Josh gets into bed. Before you leave his room you want to ask him about his parents.
“You told your parents about… us, right?” You ask.
“Yeah, they know.” He responds already drifting off to sleep.
You leave it at that. “Goodnight Sugar. I love you platonically.” You say walking out.
As you shut the door you hear him say “ I love you, Honey.”
You head back to Nora.
“I am pretty sure Karen thinks you and Josh are dating.” Nora states the second you walk into the room.
“I just talked to Josh about it and he said he has told them about our situation.” You respond.
“He said those words?”
“Well, more or less.”
“Less?”
“Yeah. But surely someone has clarified things. We have been friends for months now.”
“It didn’t seem like it tonight.” Nora ended your conversation climbing into bed.
You stayed up replaying the conversations of the evening over in your head. Ronnie clearly knew, so surely their parents did. You tried to reassure yourself enough to get some sleep.
The following morning came way too quickly. You did not sleep well as your mind continued to go over every word Karen said. You got up and took a hot shower to try and melt the nerves. You wanted to dress nice for the holiday so you sacrificed being a little cold. You had a dark green, long sleeved, skater dress that had a deep V with mesh detailing. You paired it with some insulated black tights and your black docs. You threw on some gold jewelry you had packed and applied some light make-up. Having some time before needing to leave you decided to give yourself a blow out. Nora joined you in the bathroom as she began to get ready. You heard a knock at your door.
“Coming!” You shout opening it to find Josh with a bag of presents in one hand and a bouquet of red flowers in the other.
“Sugar, you shouldn’t have!” You tease knowing the flowers are for his mom. “But you do know those aren’t my favorite flowers!”
“Trust me Honey, I have that too.” He said pulling a joint from behind his ear.
“My hero!” You say imitating Olive oil from Pop-eye. “I just need to gather up my presents for everyone and we should be ready to go.”
You drive over meeting the rest of the group who was already at the house. Minus Danny as he was spending the day with his family.
“Look at the the presents! You guys are better than Santa Claus!” Karen cheers as you come through the door.
“My present is my presence.” Nora announces eliciting a laugh from everyone.
“Y/N dear come help me set these under the tree.” Karen says. You follow closely behind her. You begin placing gifts around the base of the tree. “I am so glad you and Josh are so happy together. You know this is a big deal for him.”
Shit. You think to yourself. She has no clue. “Um…” you say clearing your throat. “Josh and I… we aren’t… we are just friends.” You stumble over your words.
“Oh! But Jake had said you were his girlfriend?” She responded confused.
“Of course he did.” You say placing your face into your hands in frustration. “Let’s not tell Josh that. We do not need them fighting tonight.” You add.
“Good idea! I am so sorry! You guys just seemed so… close!”
“We are, but you know with tour and the whole lifestyle relationships can be hard. We just want to be really good friends.”
“If you say so!” She hums as she walks into the kitchen.
You take the opportunity to slip away and reprimanded Jake. You find him in the basement with Sam and Hannah. “Jake, what the fuck?” You spit at him.
“Something the matter sweetheart?” He responds.
“Woo there cowboys, what seems to be the issue?” Sam asks stepping between the two of you.
“Somebody thought it would be funny to tell Karen that I am Josh’s girlfriend.” You say peering over Sam’s shoulder starring daggers into Jake.
“Oh shit. Y/N I am sorry.” Jake says with genuine sympathy in his eyes. “I told mom that long before the cabin. I completely forgot. I will go make it right.” He says walking towards the stairs.
“It’s fine Jake… I already took care of it.” You say as your anger dissipates.
“You know I can be an idiot!” He says giving you a side hug.
“Oh I know!” You tease back, offering him a small punch to the gut.
“What’s going on down here?” You hear Josh yell as he comes down to find you.
“Oh nothing. Just letting Jake know I will kick his ass at pool next chance I get.” You quickly make up a cover story. Josh throws an arm around you as he joins the conversation.
“We can all go play downtown for Danny’s birthday!” Sam recommends.
“It’s settled! Now anyone care to smoke with me?” Josh says shooting you a wink.
“Let’s wait until after dinner. I would rather not spend my first Christmas with your family higher than a kite.” You suggest.
“That sounds rather amusing for the rest of us.” Jake teases.
You all return upstairs. Karen and Ronnie were setting the table for lunch. Kelly was outside grilling a ham. You helped prep some of the sides and set them on the table.
“This out does any Christmas dinner we have ever had.” Nora says as she approaches the table.
“What does your family normally eat on Christmas Day?” Ronnie asked.
“Chinese food.” You answered.
“Whatever was open.” Nora adds. You both laugh at the contrast of the meal in front of you compared to meals of Christmas past.
Josh walks up behind you placing his hand to the small of your back. “Care if I steal her away for just a moment?” Josh asks referring to you. He pulls you over by the fire. “Sam told me about Jake.”
Cursing yourself for not telling Sam to keep his mouth shut. “Jake and I already discussed it. Everything is okay. I clarified things with your mom as well.” You tried to reassure him.
“Now I get to hear about how stupid I am for not dating you.” Josh said in a playful tone.
“Well you deserve that!” You chime back as you pull him into a hug.
He places a quick kiss on your cheek. Your eyes flutter closed at the contact of his warm, velvety lips. “That was yellow, wasn’t it?” He asks realizing his mistake.
“It was, but I will forgive you if you find me a drink.”
He walks into the kitchen to mix you up a mimosa which can only be described as champagne with a suggestion of orange juice. You drink it anyway. You decided to prepare the rest of the groups drinks to save them from Josh’s version of a mimosa. Karen thanks you.
“Hams done! Come and get it while it’s hot!” Kelly announces placing a beautiful ham on the table.
Everyone gathers for another lovely meal. Dinner is filled with discussion of new music and the upcoming tour plans. Once again you helped clear the table after everyone was done. Trying to help out as much as possible you start doing the dishes.
“Are you sure you have to go back to Nashville? I could use your help around here!” Karen jokes.
“I think Josh would die!” Jita teases. “Those two are connected at the hip.”
“Well Josh will have to figure that out before tour starts!” Karen adds.
You finishing with clean up and join everyone around the Christmas tree. You and Josh sit on the floor in-front of the fire.
“I think that is your spot!” Karen says motioning to the spot you and Josh continue to find yourselves in.
“I guess so.” You chime through a grin as you nuzzle into Josh. In response he places an arm around your waist.
“Alright Honey as the guest of honor, you get to open one first.” Josh says pulling a small present from behind his back.
“Gee thank Josh!” Nora quickly jests, causing everyone to laugh.
“Shouldn’t you be at Danny’s house?” Josh jokes. You give him a quick smack to the chest in response to his comment. “Sorry.” He says reluctantly to Nora. He places the box in your hand. “Now this might be a little red, and if it is I will get you something else.” He says just loud enough for you to hear.
The box was delicately wrapped with gold paper. It had a white star on top. You remove the paper finding a black velvet jewelry box inside. You look at Josh and lift an eyebrow.
“Open it!” He says gently pushing the box towards you.
You slowly open the box just to tease him. Once it’s open you see a delicate gold chain necklace, adorned with a small rectangular pendant. On the pendant was a small “J.” For Josh, you thought. You felt tears well up in your eyes.
“Green, very green.” You threw your arms around Josh. He pulled away slightly to reveal he was wearing a matching necklace adorned with your first initial.
“Friendship necklaces.” He said with a big relieved smile. “I wanted us to have something to remember each other by when I am on tour.”
“It’s perfect.” You say wiping the tears from your eyes. “I was really worried I would forget you.” You joke as he helps you put the necklace on.
“Well that was disgusting.” Ronnie says poking fun at her older brother.
Everyone exchanges their gifts and enjoys each others company. As it gets late you find yourself alone with Josh on the couch. With just the light of the fire illuminating the room.
“I was so nervous you would think it was red.” Josh says reaching out to hold your necklace.
“Josh this is the most thoughtful gift anyone has ever given me.”
“Honey… I am going to miss you so much on tour.”
“I will miss you too. But we have trips planned during your breaks and I will be at as many shows as I can. You know Sam did offer me the job of Greta Van Fleet’s official mixologist!”
“And you turned it down?!” He said jokingly. “You better be ready for FaceTime calls at 1 am!” He continued to tease.
“I don’t have to answer them!” You poke back. He wraps you up in a hug around your waist. Threatening to pick you up. “Red! Red!” You yell through your giggles.
“Oh no! That’s not fair Honey!” He grabs you throwing you over his shoulder.
“Josh! Put me down! I have to say goodbye to everyone!” You laugh as the playfully flail your limbs for him to set you down.
He turns to the group who are all watching your antics. “Goodbye everyone!” He laughs turning away quickly and carrying you out the door. Nora running behind. He sets you in the Jeep and you flip him off while he climbs in on the drivers side. Nora rolls her eyes at the two of you. Josh drives you back to the hotel. You decide to stay up with Josh after Nora goes to bed. You change into the complimentary robe. Grabbing a bottle of mini bar wine and head to his room.
“Open up I have alcohol!” You announce at his door. He unlocks the door, as you walk in you see a fort of blankets and pillows around the bed. “How did you know I was coming over? Or do you do this every night?” You fire at him.
“I had a hunch.” He came over grabbing the wine and taking you over to the bed. “You get comfortable. I am going to change and grab some cups.” You settle in and admire his handy work assembling this with just the hotel furniture. You knew this was all feeling a little too romantic, so you decide to leave the robe on before getting under the blankets. You look at the TV to see Josh already had a movie cued up on Netflix. He returns from the bathroom with cups and hands you one. Pouring you a stout glass of wine.
“Woah there, you know I am a cheap drunk.”
“There is nothing cheap about you Honey.”
“I think someone is a little drunk themselves!”
“Nora did look pretty wasted.” He teased trying to redirect from his own state of intoxication. “Can a man not celebrate?” He asked shooting you a grin.
“What are we celebrating tonight?”
“Our first Christmas together!” He responds
“As friends.” You correct.
“As friends.” He says through a half smile attempting to mask his defeated tone.
You cheers and each take a sip.
“That is awful!” You say as you make a sour face spitting the wine back in the cup.
“That is pretty bad.” Josh says taking your cup and setting it on the end table with his.
“Hopefully the movie is better?” You say as you snuggle into the blankets.
Josh starts the movie and joins you under the covers. You had watched movies together in bed before. You had a standing agreement it was best to not cuddle and that any sleeping be done in separate beds. About half way through you felt yourself getting tired. When you looked over Josh was already asleep. You told yourself you will just shut your eyes for a minute and then return back to your room. No such luck. You slept all night in his bed. It was the best sleep you had in months. In the morning Josh was completely wrapped around you and you around him. You found your face in his chest and before thinking you nuzzled in. Letting out a small hum as you felt his warmth.
“Fuck!” You said jumping out of bed.
“What?!” Josh yelled jumping out on the opposite side. He looked at you with the most adorable confused expression.
“I fell asleep in your bed.” You said apologetically. Holding your robe tightly around your body.
“I will never forgive you!” Josh said in playful dram-antics.
“Josh I am serious! We were even cuddling! That is very, very RED!”
“Hey, we slipped up. It will be okay.” He came over giving you a hug of reassurances. You always melted into his touch.
You had two more days left on your trip and you didn’t want anything to ruin that.
Most businesses were still closed the day after Christmas so the boys had the bright idea of going sledding. Luckily Ronnie had some extra snow gear for you and Nora to borrow. You head over to the Kiszka’s and find everyone dressed for the occasion. Ronnie shows you where her clothes are and tells you to help yourselves. You get changed and head back outside to meet the group.
“You guys look like northerners now!” Danny said slightly teasing Nora and yourself.
“Still hotter than you!” Nora bit back shooting him a wink.
“You are not wrong.” Danny agreed.
The guys lead you to a spot behind their property that they have sled down since they were in diapers. Sam insisted everyone go down at once causing a predictable massive pile up on the test run. After that Jake was put in charge of the races. Two at a time everyone raced one another until Nora was crowned champ. She gloated the entire walk back to the house. Everyone stripped their layers once inside and secretly made plans for Danny’s birthday celebration the following day. You had Jake help you put together a tray of hot toddy’s for the group. It was your second best cocktail. You serve the group the warm drinks while you take a seat with Nora on the couch.
“Y/N these may be better than your margaritas!” Jita chirps and everyone nods in agreement as they take their first sips.
“A perfect drink to end a perfect day!” Nora says as she rests her head on your shoulder.
“Hey!” Josh whispered catching your attention. He slowly pulled the blunt from behind his ear. He nods toward the basement. You follow his lead slowly removing yourselves from the group. You meet him downstairs sitting on the old couch. He passes you the already lit joint. “You looked cute today.” He said.
“Thanks.” You respond flashing him a smile. “You looked pretty cute yourself, Sugar.”
“I mean it. Something about you all dressed up for me…”
“Josh, this feels… red.” You interrupt him.
“Fuck red, fuck all of the colors.” He responds playfully. “It gets pretty tiring doesn’t it? This game we play.”
“We only play it because of your rules.” You say unsure of where this is going.
“What if…”. He pauses. “What if there were no rules.”
You think very carefully about how you chose to respond. “What about tour?”
Before Josh could open his mouth to respond Sam and Hannah bust through the door.
“Stoner senses.” You and Josh say in unison.
“Keeping it all to yourself?” Sam says as he takes the blunt from you.
“Well it is my weed.” Josh responds annoyed by his brother’s intrusion.
You all finish the blunt and head back up. You are extremely high and find yourself reaching for Josh’s hand. He was your comfort.
“Josh not in the basement!” Karen reprimanded him but he was much too high to care.
“At least they aren’t fucking down there.” Sam jests. Kelly smacking him and Josh upside the head as the walk through the basement door.
“I would prefer it to THIS!” Karen fires back. She gets a fan out trying to remove the stench.
“Me too.” You whisper into Josh’s ear causing him to bite his lip.
“We are leaving.” Josh announces playfully to the group. As he pulls you toward the front door.
“No we are not! We are both way too high to drive.” You remind him as you attempt to stop him from walking out the front door.
“Shit.” He huffs.
“I will drive you guys back. I will need to be well rested for tomorrow night.” Nora pauses. “I didn’t mean it like that… you know what forget I said anything.” She tries to back peddle as everyone laughs at her choice of words. She drives you back to the hotel. You sit in the passenger seat falling asleep during the car ride. “Come on sleeping beauty.” Nora says practically carrying you to your bed. Josh follows behind to tuck you in and place a goodnight Kiss on your forehead. You wake slightly under his touch.
“Goodnight Joshie.” You hum into your pillow.
“Goodnight Honey.” He says before returning to his room.
“You two are a mess.” Nora says softly as she crawls into bed.
Your last day in town was the day before Danny’s birthday. The group had made plans to surprise him at a local bar. Nora was going to take him out for dinner and then bring him to the bar. Nora, Jita and you were up before anyone else. You guys took the Jeep into town, picking up Jita on the way. You sat down for coffee and breakfast at a little cafe.
“So… Josh was very…” Nora started talking watching closely for your reaction.
“He was very high.” You finish her sentence for her hoping she will drop it.
“Oh come on!” Jita took her turn attempting to fish something out of you. “He was undressing you with his eyes before any substances ever touched his lips.”
“And the necklaces? Who are you guys kidding?” Nora chimes back finding some bravery from Jita’s support.
“Things have been confusing on this trip. Lines blurred… but I am sure it will go back to normal when we are back in Nashville.” You try and convince the girls but they were not buying it. You weren’t either. Something was different this time. Josh was different. “He has been more… affectionate lately, but tour is coming up. He is probably just trying to make up for the time apart.” You try and end the conversation.
“We all just want to see you both happy.” Jita says squeezing your hand.
You finish you breakfast and drive over to a local craft and party store. You grab way more decorations than you need. Nora fills the Jeep with balloons. Jita had been in contact with the bar manager who said you could begin setting up anytime. You all agree to set up first then go get ready for the evening. You spend several hours helping the girls put up decorations. Nora strung lights and streamers. The ceiling was filled with gold and silver balloons. The tables were covered with flashy table cloths and metallic confetti. Banners were hung and a photo booth was brought in.
“I think that is enough, don’t you?” Nora asked unsure of herself.
“It is more than enough!” You say in an attempt to calm her nerves.
“Danny won’t know what hit him!” Jita added.
You drop Jita back off at her hotel before returning to yours.
“I have nothing to wear!” Nora says collapsing on the bed.
“You brought three bags! I am sure we can find something!” You begin sifting through her suitcases. You grab several articles of clothing and bring them over to the bed. “Are we feeling sexy or sophisticated?” You ask while holding up a few options.
“Somewhere in between I guess.” She shrugs
“Got it! Sexy librarian it is!” You jest.
You play around with a few outfits before settling on one. You throw the clothes at her and instruct her to try them. She slumps over to the bathroom and gets dressed.
“Okay… I was wrong.” She says stepping out of the bathroom and striking a pose. She looked stunning as always. You put her in an burnt orange satin dress that hit mid calf. Layering it with a black, long sleeve, turtleneck underneath and finishing the look with Chelsea boots. Her blonde, blunt bob complemented the look exquisitely. She added a single silver chain necklace.
“Jita was right! Danny won’t know what hit him!” You say in a singsong manner. You knew Danny and Nora were just friends but you suspected Danny had feelings for her. On occasion you thought Nora may reciprocate said feelings.
You kept it simple with black skinny jeans and docs. Pairing it with a black, long sleeve, off the shoulder body suit. You added a black belt with gold hardware, and your gold necklaces. You wore your hair down and decided to do winged liner with a red lip. You look in the mirror and giggled a little bit. Your look for the night resembling that of Sandra-Dee when she breaks bad for Danny Zuko. Josh insists that the girls take the Jeep and the guys will follow behind in Jake’s car. When you get to the bar everyone goes inside besides Nora. She grabs the keys to the Jeep and goes to pick up Danny for dinner. The bar was nice enough to give your group the entire place to yourselves. Jake and Jita begin ordering food for everyone. Sam orders a round of beers, while Hannah finds a table to set the gifts.
“This place looks fantastic!” Josh says handing you a beer.
“Nora did most of the work! There would have been even more balloons but they wouldn’t fit in the Jeep.” You laughed as the image played in your head of Nora frantically shoving balloons in through the trunk window. Josh laughs with you thinking about the three of you in the Jeep surrounded by balloons.
“You also look fantastic.” He hums into your ear, placing a kiss on your cheek. Unsure of where you stand after your last conversation you decide not to comment on his action.
“Speak for yourself hot stuff.” You giggle as you fluff his hair a bit.
“I mean’t what I said last night.” Josh pauses as he scans your face to gauge your reaction. Your stomach started to do flips. “No more rules.” He said as he wove his fingers through yours.
Part 2 to follow soon.
