Icosahuman / Multialtertype

A term for an alterhuman who identifies with their alterhuman identity in many or all of the possible ways.

Examples of identities which may be icosahuman:

Lacking personal distinction between types of alterhumanity.

Having multiple interpretations of one's alterhumanity.

Being both kin and copinglink due to clinging to one's kin as a coping mechanism.

Being a fictive or extranthrope who also identifies with other alterhuman terminology.

An alterhuman with fluidity in their type of identity, such as sometimes being kin and sometimes being hearted.

And more!

It is intended for those who are multiple kinds of alterhuman regarding a single identity (ex. being foxkin and a fox copinglink), rather than those who have multiple alterhuman identities of different types. Someone with multiple alterhuman identities who has singular identities of multiple types is also included.

An overhuman/humanmore[link] term for being both human as well as a forest nymph alterhuman.

A form of alterhumanity.

[IDs: Three flags for oversilvanymph/silvanymphmore. The first has nine horizontal stripes of varying widths in various shades of green, with darker shades on the outside and lighter shades on the inside. Two thin stripes near the centre are a much paler green than the others and the centre stripe is a greenish-teal.

The second has curved stripes radiating out from the bottom right in a pattern that looks like a visible quarter of overlapping circles. The stripes are varying shades of green, with darker stripes on the outer left and inner stripes on the inner right. There is a thin stripe near the bottom right corner that is a much paler green than the others and the two corner-most stripes are greenish-teals. Overeldritch / Eldritchmore

Superhuman: An alterhuman identity for those who are a higher order of being than human. May also fit under overhuman if the user so wishes.

Examples may include: angelkin, fictionkin of characters that have powers/magic, or AIkin.

Flag colors were picked with the idea of divinity, purity, and “goodness” in mind Symbol is @nonanthropy ‘s nonhuman symbol with a plus sign in the middle rather than a dot, to represent not only being non-human but being higher than humanity.

Subhuman: An alterhuman identity for those who are a lower order of being than human. May also fit under overhuman if the user so wishes.

Given the dehumanizing context of the word “subhuman”, anyone in a minority (including those who do not identify as alterhuman) are welcome to use the subhuman flag for reclaiming the word.

Examples may include: caninekin, monsterkin, or changelingkin. (Subhuman is a self-identifier, one should not call anyone who may be these examples “subhuman” unless they state it is okay first)

These identities are not mutually exclusive, one can identify one’s alterhuman identity as both superhuman and subhuman.

This one is probably the simplest one we made out of the three or so the night we made this so we (hopefully) got some sleep by the time you see this!

You are allowed to have a new, blended identity between the two or even two separate identities living in harmony! You being animal does not negate that you were raised as, are expected to be, and are participating daily as a human. [ I mean this is a realistic, positive way, though I do sympathize with those who have more intense species dysphoria. ]

You are going to have likes and dislikes that directly contradict your animal self, you are going to desire things that animals don't, there may even be certain things in the environment you'd never want to interact with despite your animal self being evolved specifically to interact with these things (dirt, bugs, etc etc).

These things do not make you less animal, they only are reminders that you get to experience being a human as well. You are your animal but you are also human and both of those are beautiful in their own ways. Let both parts of yourself be comfortable and happy as much as you can. Find a middle ground that feels best for you and embrace being a human animal (if that is something you're comfortable with).

Newly Awakened alterhumans when you are discovering yourself try not to push your entire life into the box of animal-hood. This can be beneficial but also a bit hindering to your growth. Not everything in your life and identity has to be 'animal', do you understand what I'm saying? You're alowed to have an identity outside of alterhumanity.

Now later on in your journey you might realize or decide that nothing in your life/identity/experience is human and thats ok but at the beginning don't force yourself into a box. Really think about and analyze yourself in all contexts, not just in an animal one.

You're alowed to feel human sometimes and your alowed to have an identity outside of alterhumanity.

I want to wag my tail I want to thump I want to curl it up to my hip...
