The “Organic Beauty Ebooks” product is an exceptional solution for anyone committed to nurturing their beauty routines with nature’s finest ingredients. This ebook series does not just offer advice; it empowers users with knowledge and skills to create their own beauty products, enriched with the benefits of natural, organic components. Here’s why “Organic Beauty Ebooks” stands out and why it’s worth the investment for anyone passionate about organic beauty.
A Holistic Approach to Beauty
The “Organic Beauty Ebooks” collection embraces a holistic approach, covering everything from skincare to haircare, and even wellness tips that enhance your overall beauty routine. Each ebook in this series is thoughtfully curated with a wealth of information on using organic ingredients for beauty. Whether you’re a beginner or someone experienced in organic beauty practices, you’ll find the guidance useful, informative, and easy to follow.
What’s particularly impressive about this ebook series is its commitment to an all-natural approach. In a world where synthetic products and chemicals are rampant, this product offers a refreshing alternative, focusing entirely on pure, organic ingredients. By investing in these ebooks, you’re making a conscious choice towards a cleaner, healthier beauty regimen.
Comprehensive and Easy-to-Follow Guides
The “Organic Beauty Ebooks” series excels in providing detailed, step-by-step instructions for a range of beauty routines. Each guide is meticulously organised, making it easy to navigate through the chapters and find specific information. The structure is particularly helpful for those who may be new to DIY beauty. The ebooks cover all the essentials, including ingredient lists, preparation methods, and application instructions, ensuring you can recreate the processes with confidence.
One of the standout features of this ebook collection is its use of accessible language. The authors have clearly made an effort to avoid overly technical terms and jargon, which is often a hurdle in beauty literature. This makes the ebooks suitable for readers of all levels, even those who may not have prior knowledge of organic ingredients or natural beauty techniques. You’ll find each recipe well-explained, with detailed instructions that ensure there’s no ambiguity.
Rich in Natural Beauty Recipes
One of the major appeals of the “Organic Beauty Ebooks” collection is the variety of recipes included for different beauty needs. From rejuvenating face masks to nourishing hair oils and exfoliating body scrubs, this product has an impressive range of recipes that cater to various beauty concerns. The recipes are versatile, allowing users to mix and match ingredients based on their preferences or availability, which adds a lovely personalised touch to the experience.
The ebook also introduces readers to lesser-known ingredients and explains their benefits, such as the hydrating properties of aloe vera or the antioxidant power of green tea. This depth of information not only educates but also allows users to experiment with confidence, knowing that each recipe is backed by a wealth of research on the effectiveness of these ingredients.
Benefits of Using Organic Ingredients
The primary benefit of organic beauty lies in its purity and minimal environmental impact. With “Organic Beauty Ebooks,” you’re not just using natural ingredients, but also supporting a sustainable lifestyle. Organic beauty is increasingly valued for its gentleness on the skin and hair, free from harsh chemicals or artificial preservatives that can cause long-term damage.
The ebooks cover the benefits of using natural oils, butters, herbs, and flowers for beauty treatments, highlighting how these ingredients are rich in nutrients that nourish the skin without the need for synthetics. For example, coconut oil, rosewater, and avocado are presented as star ingredients, with comprehensive explanations on how they support skin health and radiance. This focus on natural ingredients also aligns with the growing demand for eco-friendly and cruelty-free beauty products, making these ebooks a perfect fit for conscious consumers.
Economical and Environmentally Friendly
Investing in “Organic Beauty Ebooks” can be surprisingly economical over time. With these guides, you can create your own beauty products rather than purchasing expensive organic products from the market. This not only helps you save money but also reduces packaging waste, contributing to an eco-friendlier lifestyle. The recipes in the ebook make it easy to reuse ingredients you may already have at home, making organic beauty accessible without requiring a substantial initial investment in products.
The ebooks even suggest methods for sustainable sourcing, such as using locally available ingredients and choosing suppliers that prioritise environmental ethics. By choosing organic ingredients and making products yourself, you’re also cutting down on plastic waste, which is a major concern in the beauty industry.
Suitable for Sensitive Skin and Personalisation
The ebook series caters to a broad audience by providing recipes that are gentle on all skin types, including sensitive skin. The absence of synthetic additives means that the recipes are less likely to irritate sensitive skin, making them suitable for everyone, from young adults to older generations. Each recipe allows for customisation, so users can adjust quantities or replace ingredients based on individual skin types and needs.
For example, if a recipe calls for essential oils, which can sometimes be too strong for sensitive skin, the ebook provides alternative suggestions or adjustments to create a gentler product. This flexibility makes it easy for everyone to enjoy the benefits of organic beauty without the worry of adverse reactions.
Beautifully Presented and Informative
The design of the “Organic Beauty Ebooks” deserves special mention. The layout is clean and visually appealing, with beautiful imagery that enhances the reading experience. The visuals not only make the ebooks aesthetically pleasing but also help in understanding the step-by-step processes better. Each chapter begins with an introduction to the specific theme, followed by practical advice, recipes, and tips.
Additionally, the ebooks include helpful resources at the end, such as ingredient sources, tips on storing homemade products, and frequently asked questions. This adds tremendous value, ensuring that readers have all the information they need to get the most out of their organic beauty journey.
Conclusion: A Must-Have for Organic Beauty Enthusiasts
The “Organic Beauty Ebooks” is an exceptional resource for anyone looking to make the transition to natural beauty. With a wealth of recipes, easy-to-follow instructions, and a focus on sustainability, this ebook series is a fantastic investment. It’s suitable for anyone, regardless of age or experience level, and offers an enjoyable and rewarding path to a healthier beauty regimen.
For those who value organic products and want to avoid synthetic additives, this ebook series is a treasure trove of knowledge. It empowers users to take control of their beauty routines, providing all the tools and insights needed to create a personalised, organic approach to beauty. 🥏 Where to find good XF fanfics
👽 On Tumblr
@lilydalexf has an encyclopedic knowledge of fics and continues to be an invaluable resource. You'll find a boatload of themed fic lists, individual rec posts and helpful answers to anon asks.
@txf-fic-chicks-blog seven years of almost daily recs, with well-written blurbs and a lot of fun, run by @kateyes224 and @piecesofscully. Look out for their themed days: "Casefile Monday", "Tumblr Tuesday", "Editor's Pick Wednesday", "Post-Ep/Missing Scene Thursday", "Novel Length Friday", "Smut Sunday", and the very cool "Because You Watched"
@msrlibrary a well-tagged library of MSR fics; each entry includes a short excerpt and a nicely chosen image from the show.
@201daysofxfiles a rewatch blog by fandom veteran @wendelah. Each episode in season 1-7 is paired with its own fic rec post.
@enigmaticxbee an aesthetically pleasing and neatly organized rewatch blog that is packed with great content, including excellent fic rec lists categorized by season, story type, trope, and more. Each episode guide sometimes features related fic recs.
@thatfragilecapricorn30 posts one fic rec every Friday, accompanied by a nice writeup.
@randomfoggytiger curates many fic rec lists sorted by often fun and creative categories.
@cecilysass has a google doc titled "fics I love", which is a fantastic fic list categorized by story type, complete with thoughtful blurbs. She's also shared two episode-related fic rec lists on Tumblr: here and here.
@pookie-mulder writes a monthly fic journal with good recs.
**self-promo plug** I post fic recs on my Tumblr blog @fine-nephrit under #nephrit's fic rec. Plus, I reblog others' fic recs that I come across!
👽 Rec Communities
XF Book Club: the best thing ever, an absolute gem that deserves to be preserved for posterity. During its run, 270 fics were recced and discussed in depth here. The community's intelligent and insightful comments on this blog are sometimes even more enjoyable to read than the fics themselves.
The Fic Filter (xf tag): well-curated selections with short blurbs.
Multifandom Het Recs (xf tag): a major rec site's xf section that offers nice "why this must be read" writeups. @het-reccers
Crack Van (xf tag): another major rec site with a big xf section, featuring endless recs and blurbs
Fancake (xf tag): another major rec community's xf section boasting an extensive thematic tagging system
👽 Personal Blogs
Emily Shore aka Naraht: meta essays, fanvid recs, fic recs—great stuff aplenty
Bad for the Fish aka Scarlet Baldy: fantastic fic list paired with highly enjoyable reviews and analyses of the fics she's read. @badforthefish
Ramblings of a Mind Untamed: reviews of a dozen or so classic fics
xxSKSxx XF Fanfic Recs: still active in 2024! @xxsksxxx
X-Libris: more of a fic library, this is the best place to download nicely-formatted ebooks of pre-AO3 oldies. What I love most is the incredibly detailed and extensive tagging system.
👽 Individual Rec Lists with good writeup
Character Manifesto - Dana Scully: a character analysis and 10 Scully-centric fic recs, categorized by "best of .." selections. Amazing format and choices!
Character Manifesto - Fox Mulder: same format as above for Spooky

👽 90s Old School Rec Sites
The Basement Office - Musea: a treasure trove of extensive fic lists with lovely written blurbs, recced by a group of talented writers from back in the day
The Other Side - Fanfic Recs from Beyond the Grave: a large collection of 'scary' or 'spooky' story recs with nice blurbs. Beautiful web design.
the Rookery - Favorite Authors: nice commentary on a list of classic fic writers
X-Files Fanfiction 101: an intro guide to fic categories and what to read for each
The Primal Screamers: a fun site run by a mailing list that hosts fic recs with blurbs, and a 'Coffee Talk' section full of delightful discussions of canon
Idealists Haven - Elemental Fanfic Archive: an archive with rec blurbs
Chronicle X: a large, well-organized archive with blurbs, plus a 'Can We Talk' discussion section of novel-length fics, plus a total of 46 author interviews. Simply incredible!
👽 Special Mention
The X-Files Lost and Found: a fic finder message board that is miraculously still very active today—How wonderful! Its FAQ page hosts a huge collection of well-categorized themed fic lists (not recs), including "Classics (or, Your Fanfic Education is Not Complete Until You've Read ...)".
Where do you find your next read? What did I miss? Reblog and share your favorites!

🍉 FROM THE RIVER TO THE SEA
HELPING PALESTINE
If you think that the only way of helping Palestine is going to a protest, then you're not thinking big enough. While protests are amazing, and we need to keep the pressure on Biden and the other world leaders, here's some things you can do in your daily life that also help.
🍉 Follow the BDS list. I'll link some resources of what not to buy and what is safe. I know this gets confusing, but I'll try to give you all the resources you need to make informed decisions.
🍉 Give money to Palestinian organizations. Just like the BDS list, I'll link all the resources I have. Lots of them are helping on the ground to provide aid and give Palestinians a chance to tell the world whats going on.
🍉 Follow Palestinian journalists. I'll link a lot of them down below, but they are the best way to see what's going on right now.
🍉 Listen to Palestinian people. I'm white, so I only want to use my voice to uplift Palestinian ones in this issue. I will stand hand in hand with them and use my privilege to push them to the forefront, but I never want to to take the spotlight away from them.
🍉 Learn Palestinian History. I'll link some great resources I found that helped me learn the history of the Nakba, the constant degradation of Palestinians by Israel, and why this issue needs to be talked about until Palestine is free.
🍉 Distribute reading materials, zines, stickers, or anything else. It's a great way to spread information and lift up Palestinian voices.
Resources after the cut.

For the OC/WIP Ask game:
Tell me a bit about the world of this (Peter Hart) and how politics or general cultural stuff works within it!
Ramble about the relationship between Peter and Benjamin, (e.g. how they met, how different/similar they are, etc)!
Tell me some cool/random/fun facts about one of your WIPs (you choose which one)!
Yay! More Peter Hart questions!! Thank you for stopping by, @mysticstarlightduck ! ✨
1. Peter Hart is set in 17th century Great Britain, as is both a historical and fantasy pirate adventure. That is to say, the setting is on Earth, and uses both real locations and fantasy locations (some of the islands and provinces I made do not exist in the real world, while others did. Also mermaids, sea monsters, and cursed trinkets existing in this novel). The main government is the British Parliament, and Peter goes out of his way to make the Royals’ lives a living hell. He is very chaotic, anti-authoritarian, teetering on psychopathy with a smile on his jovial face 😂🏴‍☠️✨
2. Peter and Benjamin knew each other in childhood, as they grew up in the same port. Benjamin met Peter through bullying—that is, to say, Benji was part of a cohort of bullies that tormented a young Peter. Prince Benjamin was not the ringleader, nor did he ever hit or physically attack Peter, but was not above holding his status as a wealthy prince above Peter’s head. (Benjamin was a brat. He still kind of is xD)
Peter left the port at 12 years old to join his father Captain Johnathan Hart on his pirate ship: The Phoenix. Though, that wasn’t initially the plan, because a young and mischievous Peter originally crafted a raft and wanted to set sail to the fabled Isle of Gold…only to get marooned, washed up, and found by the Phoenix Gang in a twist of fate.
After Peter’s father died when Peter was 16, and left the crew in the hands of his only son, Captain Peter Hart and his gang of adoptive dads visited Port Mayor to pay his mother Mary a visit. While on his short stay, he reunited with Benjamin 14 years later….by abducting the prince from his bedroom and forcing him to experience an epic pirate adventure with himself and the Golden Phoenix Gang.
They start as enemies, and gradually grow to lovers through twists and turns throughout the novel. As they learn more about their personalities, and reasonings behind their childhood traumas, they’re able to relate to their experiences a little too well….beinging them closer and closer to trusting one another.
I high recommend you read the full novel! I made it free on Archive Of Our Own, or if you want to support me further, it’s on Amazon Kindle eBooks for $5.00. Link in my pinned profile post 🏴‍☠️✨
3. Sure! Uhhh let’s see….YWIMC was inspired by Disney’s animated Aladdin….but gay. Because all my novels are BL romances—Big Gay Love Stories 💛💫✨
Thank you again so much for your ask, and be sure to read Peter Hart to get the full experience of these beautiful pirates✨

Hey, I'm the person who commented on Stitches Across, asking about your references and such! Sorry for taking so long to reach out through here. First of all, The Changelings story got me very curious. I found it on Amazon and will try to see if I manage to get the ebook of it for further reading. If you have anymore tales like this to rec, I'd gladly take them. Second, the explanation towards the centipede motif was absolutely perfect, I don't think I myself would be able to come up with something so spot-on for a symbolism. Arthropods to me are very fascinanting, but I'm a bit scared of/disgusted by them, so I generally only observe them from afar and read about them, I actually prefer Mollusks. Anyway, I digress. The thing is you're a very talented writer. May I ask what about Kenny's explanation for their gender. Was it based on something or is it a writing construction for them specifically? And also why were they so repulsed by the breast-touching? Is it because, in that moment, they were directly related to birth and motherhood or more of a quirk related to their gender views? And, finally, the Japanology thing is really, really cool! It makes a bunch of sense actually. May I ask if is it true that Gege's kanji choices are very peculiar to Japanese readers? Anyways, thanks for the delightful read! I'm very glad you responded to my comments! Have a great weekend!
Hi! I'm so glad to hear back from you! I hope you had a nice weekend :)
Glad you were able to find the story and I hope you will enjoy it (despite having some questionable parts)! Hm, I can't think of any tale that is quite like The Changelings. In terms of Heian literature you have the classic of course, like The Tale of Genji, with some entertaining stories and look into the court system and court ladies past time. As for historical queer texts, the ones I can think of are written by Edo period samurai. For example, some of the works by Gennai Hiraga about how homosexuality is superior to heterosexuality. Rootless Grass is about King Enma and a kappa falling for an onnagata and trying to win his affection (and try to kill him so he can come to the kingdom of the dead). Then of course we have The Great Mirror of Male Love by Saikaku Ihara, a collection of romance stories between samurai, monks, kabuki actors and town folk. It's interesting and at times pretty sweet, I especially find it fascinating how monks are depicted here, but its also very much a product of its time. You always have the expectation that the older, more masculine partner will take on the dominant role and his younger, beautiful, more feminine counterpart the submissive one. It's also pretty misogynistic because the author is convinced that love between men is better than love between men and women because men are just categorically superior and women barely more than baby-making machines... But that's historical texts for you. Very similar to how The Changelings features trans characters, but also forces them to detransition in the end.
I also used to not pay much attention to insects or arthropods, but jjk has made me a lot more interested in reading about centipedes, millipedes and spiders in particular and turns out they are a lot more fascinating than I thought :D that's also what I love about writing. It encourages me to do research into things I would otherwise never bother with. I haven't looked into molluscs much, but I know snails and slugs are very complex organisms and can do some crazy stuff like produce scales that include metal.
About Kenjaku's gender, I played around with it and wanted to have their gender identity actually change fluidly and not always line up with their current body. It wasn't based on anything specific, just one way of how I interpret their character. We don't have a definitive statement on how Kenjaku identifies and if that identity changes or is affected by their vessels, so there's a lot of room to explore. In other fics I stick to they/them or pronouns that match the sex of their vessel, but I changed it up a bit here. In the prequel Perfect Preparation Kenjaku starts out with he/him pronouns and later switches to she/her shortly before taking over Kaori even while being in a male body. Same in Stitches, except their journey is a bit more detailed with Kenjaku starting to switch up between she/her and they/them after Yuuji's birth. It's a combination of Kaori's body having served her purpose and Kenjaku wanting to move on, and generally just being uncomfortable with the body because it doesn't quite match their identity. Not a huge bother because I assume Kenjaku is used to inhabiting bodies they don't like but keep for necessity (like needing Geto's body, but disliking being addressed by his name while Noritoshi's name is still fine even after a century), but things like Jin addressing them differently or taping their/Kaori's chest do make the whole thing a bit more comfortable for them. It doesn't have anything to do with motherhood, they don't mind or even welcome being called "mother" (I think that's always the case, no matter the body), the body just started to overstay its welcome and didn't match their self-perception and current preferences.
Oh yeah, Gege's way of writing can be a bit peculiar sometimes. Kanjis and their hiragana/katakana reading being different (like Kenjaku saying "my body" but the kanji being "Geto's body) isn't that uncommon in manga, but Gege can sometimes use very uncommon kanji or ones with ambiguous meaning. You have the way Sukuna is talking for example, which can incorporate some outdated words, like recently using 写真機 (photographic device) instead of カメラ (camera) when talking about Nanako's phone camera. Or how he praised Gojo in his death. It can be understood as "you were magnificent", but his wording and kanji usage references an idiom that refers to the sky becoming clear after a rainy day, so his words mean more literally: "you cleared the skies".
Another example would be Kenjaku bringing out Chinese idioms when spitting their little "I have lived" poem at Tengen in chapter 206. "tug-of-war between feuding giants" 竜戦虎争 literally translated to "a battle between dragon and tiger" with the dragon representing heaven/sky aka Tengen and the tiger (Itadori) earth or Kenjaku. The other line about "capricious alliances and betrayals" 合従連衡 references the Chinese Warring States period and it's many coalitions and political power struggles. I assume Kenjaku prepared that little speech a while ago to finally throw it in Tengen's face. Or the poetic spirit just overcame them in the heat of the moment.
Kenjaku also incorporated a lot of pregnancy symbolism in their language. Like in Shibuya they said "What I can create does not exceed the bounds of my own potential", but it can also mean "What I birth...". Similar when they talk to Choso about the merger they say Tengen will become a cursed spirit bearing/becoming pregnant with/swollen with the cursed energy of a hundred million people. There are dozens more examples. Names for cursed techniques and the sorcerer squats in the Heian era are also notoriously difficult to translate in English because they contain so many references and possible meanings that you can write entire essays about it. Some fantranslators thankfully do exactly that, like TCB and Shishiso. I really appreciate their input and the research they do when necessary. TCB dedicating multiple pages to explaining how Tengen's sunyata barrier works was crazy and Shishiso recently did something similar as an explanation for the Heian era squats and Sukuna's cursed tools. Too bad we have John Werry as official translator, who doesn't even know the story and just skips over the finer parts of the text...
I'm glad you got in touch! Hopefully you don't mind the word salad :D

Tagged by @antares0606 thank you very much!
An estimate of how many physical books I own: Somewhere between too many and ∞. They reproduce under cover of darkness, I swear. Every time I box some up to donate I find more on the shelves.
Favorite author: Hard one! In English, in my current mood: Mary Oliver and Annie Dillard.
A popular book I've never read and never intend to read: How to Win Friends and Influence People ;). I'll just keep trying to figure it out on my own, thanks very much Dale Carnegie.
A popular book I thought was just meh: Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers. Marginal science AND purple prose.
Longest book I own: The Encyclopedia of Organic Gardening. One volume; makes an excellent step-stool when my gardening zest wears off.
Longest series I own all the books to: A to Z Mysteries, left over from my children's younger days.
Prettiest book I own: A gorgeous 1933 edition of the Arthur Rackham Fairy Book.
A book or series I wish more people knew about: I'm very fond of nonfiction that was well-regarded but has since lost its audience. Today's recommendation is Beautiful Swimmers, the 1977 Pulitzer winner for nonfiction by William W. Warner. Blue crabs, the Chesapeake Bay, disappearing ways of life on the water.
Book I'm reading now: Just finished another reread of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. Still leaking tears...
Book that's been on my TBR list for a while but I still haven't got around to it: Everything Now, by Rosecrans Baldwin. Someday!
Do you have any books in a language other than English: Yes, in Arabic and Italian, for pleasure; in Russian, which I don't read, but which my son is ever hopeful I'll join him in learning, I guess by osmosis; and in a myriad of other non-dominant languages, for work.
Paperback, hardcover, or ebook?: If hardcover, then a library binding, for delightful crinkles and heft. If paperback, an older version that smells well-loved and is just starting to crumble around the edges. Never an ebook. I prefer my own voice in my head.
Tagging anyone who wants in, but in particular @cuarthol @polutrope @eilinelsghost @searchingforserendipity25

Explore my bookshelf!
Tagged by @searchingforserendipity25 @jouissants and @swanmaids! Thank you so much 💕💕
An estimate of how many physical books I own: I really have no idea especially because they're not all in one place right now. Maybe 200-300? Hmm. A lot (to me)
Favorite author: Tolkien right now? Ursula Le Guin? I really like Sarah Waters and as a wee lass I really adored Patrick Rothfuss. Umm. I realize I usually tend to pick stuff to read from individual authors based on their premise instead of going through an author's repertoire. Sorry, authors. But it's genuinely hard for me to pick a favorite since they all strike different notes! Fandom writers I've known past and present also loom large here for me.
A popular book I've never read and never intend to read: Hmm maybe The Locked Tomb? The vibes just seem too ironic for me. But I might still read it sometime, it just hasn't grabbed me yet. Probably also Discworld. Sorry to everyone.
A popular book I thought was just meh: The Song of Achilles... Whoops. Anyway, I found some aspects of the writing style lovely, but as a story and a retelling it majorly fell flat for me.
Longest book I own: Les Misérables probably, or one of the big compiled editions of Shakespeare or Austen
Longest series I own all the books to: Hmm, I think A Song of Ice and Fire from my fan days in high school—but kinda by accident (I'd already read the last books on ebook when I was gifted them). Still surprises me to think I do actually own all of those tomes in hard copy
Prettiest book I own: Mariana and the Merchild... yes it's a children's picture book. And you've almost certainly heard me bring it up sometime. Lesbian-coded child-rearing of my heart. Look at the pictures!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A book or series I wish more people knew about: As Meat Loves Salt by Maria McCann—imagine a fictional microhistory that's also a darkly painted yet tender and gripping gay romance that's also about utopian experiments and the English Civil War. When Fox is a Thousand by Larissa Lai—this book is a dream, a messy and confusing dream, but I recommend it to everyone ever! Chinese folklore and mythology, queer and sapphic-ness, through time and space from ancient China to modern-day immigrant communities in Canada—so touching and really beautiful. Many moments from this one still stick in my brain.
Series: The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud—OK, it's been a while since I read this in full, and I just said I don't always like irony and these books are crammed full of silly little jokes and targeted towards a younger audience, BUT just thinking about them makes me tear up with emotion. Ages-old wry shapeshifting djinni, snotty-kid-becomes-politician, and hardened girl from the underclass navigate an alternate magical-spirits-powered British imperialism. It's queer and incisive TO ME.
Nonfiction: A Biography of No Place by Kate Brown, about borderland villages in Soviet Ukraine and the drastic changes in structures/social organization and identities that occurred from 1920-1950. Poorly said but I just think the perspective this book takes is unique and insightful and empathic and everyone should read it.
Book I'm reading now: The Bandit Queens and Lays of Beleriand. In theory I'm reading them hell yeahhh
Book that's been on my TBR list for a while but I still haven't got around to it: Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino and The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison. I checked both of these out to read over the summer and renewed them like 3 times and did I read them... no I did not. Also a bunch more are on the TBR but you know how it is
Do you have any books in a language other than English: La Reine Margot in French is the one I tried seriously to read in recent times, but I have some others in French and Spanish, mostly from high school. 1 in Czech (a copy of With Fire and Sword I have from @sparklingdali for the pictures ❤️). Polish With Fire and Sword & The Deluge pdfs & a couple of physical books ambitiously in Polish, emphasis on the ambition part.
Paperback, hardcover, or ebook? Ideally I check out whatever version the library has. I prefer physical copies and I guess paperbacks, but I'll do ebooks if I have to! At this point I try to only actually buy (hopefully secondhand) books I think I'm really going to want to keep, because I already have too many to move with
Tagging @themelodyofsilence @nibi-nix @tuulikki @sparklingdali @bachaboska if you'd like to do this, and anyone else who hasn't done it yet!

Plant photographs and range maps provide needed visual guidance to selecting the right plants for any location in North America.
101 Organic Gardening Hacks by Shawna Coronado
The word "hack" has a multitude of meanings these days, but if you ask garden author Shawna Coronado what a hack is, she might just wave her hand toward her own back yard. She could be pointing at the garden bench she created from leftover wood posts and a few cinder blocks, or the rows of wine bottles buried soldier-style along a winding pathway, or even the garden soil itself, which is blended by hand from an organic soil recipe she devised. A hack is really just a great idea that's come to life.
In 101 Organic Garden Hacks you'll find the top tips, tricks, and solutions Shawna has dreamed up in her career as one of America's most creative gardeners. Some are practical timesavers; others offer clever ways to "upcycle" everyday items in your garden. One characteristic every hack shares is that they are completely organic and unfailingly environmentally friendly. Divided into a dozen different categories for easy reference, each hack is accompanied by a clear photo that shows you exactly how to complete it. If you are looking for resourceful ways to improve your garden and promote green living values right at home, you'll love paging through this fascinating, eye-catching book.
The Edible Front Yard by Ivette Soler
People everywhere are turning patches of soil into bountiful vegetable gardens, and each spring a new crop of beginners pick up trowels and plant seeds for the first time. They're planting tomatoes in raised beds, runner beans in small plots, and strawberries in containers. But there is one place that has, until now, been woefully neglected—the front yard.
And there's good reason. The typical veggie garden, with its raised beds and plots, is not the most attractive type of garden, and favorite edible plants like tomatoes and cucumbers have a tendency to look a scraggily, even in their prime. But The Edible Front Yard isn't about the typical veggie garden, and author Ivette Soler is passionate about putting edibles up front and creating edible gardens with curb appeal.
Soler offers step-by-step instructions for converting all or part of a lawn into an edible paradise; specific guidelines for selecting and planting the most attractive edible plants; and design advice and plans for the best placement and for combining edibles with ornamentals in pleasing ways. Inspiring and accessible, The Edible Front Yard is a one-stop resource for a front-and-center edible garden that is both beautiful and bountiful year-round.
The New Plant Parent by Darryl Cheng
For indoor gardeners everywhere, Darryl Cheng offers a new way to grow healthy house plants. He teaches the art of understanding a plant’s needs and giving it a home with the right balance of light, water, and nutrients. With this book, indoor gardeners can be less a passive follower of rules for the care of each species and much more the confident, active grower, relying on observation and insight. And in the process, the plant owner becomes a plant lover, bonded to these beautiful living things by a simple love and appreciation of nature.
The New Plant Parent covers all of the basics of growing house plants, from finding the right light, to everyday care like watering and fertilizing, to containers, to recommended species. Cheng’s friendly tone, personal stories, and accessible photographs fill his book with the same generous spirit that has made @houseplantjournal, his Instagram account, a popular source of advice and inspiration for over half a million indoor gardeners.

As an alternative to AI art, may I suggest the joys of raiding the public domain and Creative Commons licensed works?
Obviously, if you can actually afford to commission artwork or purchase from an artist, please support them. BUT there are also so many places you can go to get copyright-free art without supporting something that is deeply damaging to artists.
89,000,000 public domain and Creative Commons images, video and audio recordings.
Any images taken or created by the US government are automatically in the public domain. And yeah, that includes NASA and images from the James Web Telescope.
While the majority of Picryl’s archives are free, you can shell out a little money ($7 a month) to get access to higher resolution images and images that have been digitally enhanced. This might be useful if you plan on making prints or selling things like t-shirts with artwork from the site (which is perfectly legal btw).
On top of the their collection of artwork scientific and historic images, the Smithsonian is also creating a database of 3D scans of their collection, in case anyone wants to print a model of Amelia Earhart’s plane or a whole dinosaur.
Library of Congress, as a US Gov organization, has also made their collections available for use by the public.
Most people associate Project Gutenberg with ebooks but many of those books have beautiful illustrations. They’re not always the highest definition but they have a little of everything. My favorites are the books that contain botanical and wildlife drawings. There are also some very lovely children’s books.
I’ve made several book covers for self-published projects from public domain art. As a small creator who just can’t afford to commission art right now (much as I wish I could), these archives are vital. And you can literally do anything you want with them and in most cases use them commercially. There might be a few that require you to double check the copyright laws in your country but by and large you’re free to do what you want!

An Argentine heroine who played Che music to defy the Junta Guards
An excerpt from The book "Putas y Guerrilleras" (Whores and Female Guerrillas) by Miriam Lewin and Olga Wornat is a non-fiction work that tells the stories of women who participated in the revolutionary movements of the 1970s in Argentina.

Tumblr media
They sat her down at a well-provisioned table after having given her mate tea and bread in Capucha. A detainee who was there, Pilar, got up to put on a recorder the song of Che by Los Olimarenos. "And here stays the clear, the divine transparency, of your beloved presence, Commander Che Guevara". Laura, determined, walked back to the table among the greens. Graciela thought she was going crazy. She didn't understand the rules of that place, she didn't understand Pilar's defiant behavior, the tolerance of the guards.
The guests began to arrive. Pernias, the torturer; Dante, who had brought her to that place, and other hostages she was seeing for the first time: Gordo Alfredo and Marta. They sat down, like her, at the table. Graciela didn't say a word. The same greens who turned into executioners in the ESMA served her as obedient waiters.
After Norita, Graciela started sleeping in the same cell with Laura Di Domenico, known as La Gallega or Pilar, the defiant girl who had played the Che Guevara song in front of the marines at the farmhouse that night. She was a beautiful woman who had wanted to be a nun. She had embraced militancy from Christianity, and when she was free, she was seen without makeup, with simple hair and loose clothing. She was an ascetic. However, in captivity, Pilar seemed to have undergone an absolute transformation. She wore well-painted grape-colored nails, tight T-shirts, and everything about her revealed sensuality. The guards would come to take Graciela at night, take her to the basement, and leave her alone in the darkness without explaining why. Pilar could talk to a male prisoner, Miguel Angel Lauletta, "Cain," and she chose him to ask for advice on how to deal with the sexual advances of Captain Francis Whamond, known as Duque. Despite the sexual violence she was suffering, Pilar knew that they were going to kill her.
They had detained Pilar in Santa Fe and the Federal police were constantly demanding her from the marines. "I think that's why one day, when we were alone in the cabin, she told me we had to escape. I didn't know if she was serious or not, but the plan she proposed was impractical," recalls the Negrita. "We had to subdue two guys in a car that was taking us. In the midst of the confusion, she was going to take the wheel. It was complete madness. How were we going to do it? There was Bicho, who was huge. How were we going to take their weapons away? Was she really proposing to escape, or did she simply want to turn me in, see my reaction, and test me?" she asks herself uselessly. In the concentration camp, it was impossible to trust.
Had Pilar gone crazy? When she spoke, there was a strange gleam in her eyes. She was a completely different person from the one her companions had known. It was difficult to tell if she was pretending or not. She said that the leadership of Montoneros had to be brought down because that way the militants would be “disconnected” from the organization and many lives would be saved. She asserted it vehemently, with an absurd conviction.
“When Pernias asked me if she had proposed something to me, I thought he knew it and wanted to trap me in that contradiction. I said yes,” concludes the Negrita.
Pilar was handed over in December. From the ESMA, they took her to the Club Atletico, the police’s clandestine detention center, where she disappeared.
Some prisoners believe that Pilar deliberately used the attraction she knew she had on Whamond to obtain opportunities to be taken out of the ESMA because her goal was to escape. Perhaps, they say, she was thinking of creating a situation in which she was outside, alone with him, in a hotel, in an apartment, and could disarm him to escape. But that never happened.
After Pilar was handed over to the police, Whamond completely changed his attitude towards the prisoners. He became more distant, taciturn, and hardly had any contact with the detainees.
"Anyway, I think Whamond was one of the ideologues of the camp," Graciela thinks. He was the creator of the hood as an instrument of isolation and torture. He recounted that, before prisoners arrived at the ESMA, the repressors tested its effect on themselves. Whamond said that he had put it on himself, and that he was convinced that when you put on the hood "the light goes out, but a little light comes on" inside the person wearing it, which helps them introspect, elaborate, and reconsider.
"Terrible. That was Whamond," Graciela shudders. "He would mess with your family, ask you questions, had an active attitude that would lead you to psychological breakdown..."
