#the organ damage thing really can't be overstated #when I learned that missing meals can affect your heart function I couldn't change the last however many years #but I can make sure to eat what I need every day from now on #and ik this is not the point but starving yourself inevitably leads to your body holding onto more weight out of the trauma you caused it (tags courtesy of @swallowinthesun)
.
adding onto this, stomach ulcers can and will be caused by your stomach acid. speaking from experience here. if you have never had one, do yourself a very gentle favor and just, dont. do not fuck around and find out. if you are hungry, eat. this shit isnt a joke (comment courtesy of @3554856)
.
the best advice for healthy eating always will be "think about what you can add, not what you can subtract" (comment courtesy of @emergoatlover)
.
"Eat when you're hungry" is very different from "eat only when you're hungry"; If you don't feel huger often enough for that to be healthy then eat when you're hungry --- and eat other times, too 💜 #(signed someone who's had to learn this over and over cause they don't even register hunger until #it reaches the level of being fairly painful which. can take awhile) #also! slight sidenote but keeping enough of a pattern of eating outside of just when you feel hungry could potentially #help ''train'' your body/brain into feeling hungry more often so that could help with the whole not feeling it often enough thing #figure out what works for you. listen to your body and that includes recognizing if it doesn't communicate things to you enough and #filling in for those gaps where it doesn't tell you the things it should #but do listen to it. don't just ignore hunger without a very good reason (ex I know PWS can cause someone who has it to never feel full; or #some medical procedures require fasting beforehand; etc) #diet culture #eating disoder trigger warning #fatphobia (comment and tags courtesy of @femboykaz)
Diet companies won’t tell you this but starving yourself is a lot worse for your health than overeating

People should spread the word about this but nobody does....
There was some research with things I was involved with where people kept people's heartbeat stable and normal even when their body should have been in shock. For instance if they had organ damage that was severe, normally you'd have a real hard time but with something like this you wouldn't.....
There are systems that can determine your heartbeat and match it and then keep your heartbeat strong and stable with electric currents.
Things like that could extend the life, quality of life, and comfort of people for quite a few years when they wouldn't normally have those years. It could give them the time to make it to get a transplant....
Why isn't anybody making things like that?
I mean it's like the pacemaker on steroids....
It wouldn't take much to give people a real Fighting Chance with things like that....
I don't mind sharing the information and hope somebody will make it because I can't do it currently.

Ketogenic diet induces cellular senescence in multiple organs
High-fat, low-carb regimen stresses out cells in heart, kidneys, brain, and liver, but effects may be reversible Many influencers, athletes, and regular folks swear by ketogenic diets—skimping on carbs and feasting on fats to quickly shed pounds and improve their metabolism. Yet piling on the bacon and skipping the pancakes could come with a dangerous downside, according to a new study. Mice fed…

Interview Question for Etsushir:
What was the vibe like as a foot soldier during the suppression of the North Finn Rebellion? Did it feel doomed from the start or did it only fall apart once the Odomache was assaulted and killed?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
#Etsushir is generally very quiet and guarded and wouldn't give this extensive of a response to most people but he CAN be this#talkative when he's comfortable and being approached genuinely as a peer. He has a lot on his mind.#wrt the war:#Basically what happened was that the approach was EXTREMELY confident. The first Imperial Wardi invasion of Finnerich was an almost#one-sided affair. The Wardi side had superiority in numbers + training + weaponry. The Finns had some basal fire lances but no#muskets (and the majority had no firearms whatsoever)#But this time around the rebelling Finns had reverse engineered the muskets and produced their own. Most not of#the same quality as the Wardi muskets due to lack of resources but more than enough to be a threat#They distributed these firearms strategically by need while the Wardi forces distributed their own by rank and among elite#groups of soldiers. Which was a functional strategy to distribute this (very limited) resource when engaged in conventional#warfare but the Finns engaged primarily through guerilla tactics and thus very effectively countered the Wardi military organization.#This resulted in situations where large groups of footsoldiers armed with spears and bows were slaughtered and routed by like#A Single Guy with a gun hiding in ambush. Which was extremely demoralizing#The Wardi military forces were also plagued with infighting which only worsened when this invasion turned out to Not be a cakewalk#which made them slow and ineffective to adjust to the Finns' tactics and further damaged their own troops' morale.#Bottom line being that most of the common footsoldiers got a distinct feeling that they were Fucked pretty soon after it all began#etsushir#ask meme

my opinion about the watcher news basically boils down to this:
watcher is screwing over a huge portion of its fanbase with this move considering how many people within it are teenagers who may not have access to streaming services, low-income adults who can't afford yet another streaming service (if any), and international fans who couldn't sign up for a US based streaming service even if they wanted to. it's okay to be angry about this, especially if you're one of those people who now can't support shows you loved or will be unable to see any of those shows going forward because of it.
and
youtube's payout to creators has dwindled in recent years to the point that it is impossible to fund the kind of productions watcher makes purely through it, and in order to sustain a company of 40+ people they need a more stable source of income not reliant on ads from outside companies and patreon, which, in this case, means a pivot to streaming. it's okay to be upset that creators you like have to turn to such methods to continue funding their work, whether you have the means to support them through these avenues or not.
and
if the early reactions to this move are any indication, watcher will probably not get the fan buy-in they anticipated and in all likelihood the new streaming site will either fail within a year or two because it isn't making enough money and take the company with it or they'll be bought out by a larger company and have their shows archived or deleted for tax purposes like what's happened to roosterteeth. it is okay to be scared by that potential future and seek to preserve as much content as you can before that happens.
are all statements that can and should coexist

Thinking of how Jien collects things that remind her of her home during her missions and simple outings, sometimes it can range from one item, a simple souvenirs, but other times it is bags worth of items and she sends them all to her house on the Xianzhou, essentially hoarding all the little things in which she finds a sense of belonging. Her collection grows every time she goes somewhere. It makes me sad.
