Okay, I lied. One last post before I take that much needed mental health break.
A post that I always swore - back before you could turn off reblogs and mute comments and basically make the lives of would be trolls very pointless, because you will never see what they say - I would never be stupid enough to make.
I leave you with my essay on…
Why Sparkly Vampires Make Perfect Sense, Stephanie Meyer Just Went About It All Wrong
Let's face it, humans don't always know what we're looking at. As an example, I was reading a book about poison use in royal courts. In the section on cures, in the subsection on unicorn horn (alicorn, for the technical term), it mentioned how the people who procured this rare substance were somewhat baffled by the fact that at the end of their lives the unicorn (which lived in such places as Africa, Persia, India, etc.) would migrate to the far north to die on the beaches of the arctic sea. Now, in their defense, it's very unlikely that any of these individuals would be well traveled enough to have even the opportunity to see both a live unicorn and a dead one. If they had, they might have had an easier time realizing 'these are two different animals!'. But the point still stands.
Humans don't always know what we're looking at.
Now, if you go through folk lore and mythology, you will, of course, find horrible blood sucking fiends that drain innocents of their life. Vampires. You will also find lots of entities which emit an ethereal luminescence or radiant glow, entities which possess powers beyond mortal understanding, who can be benign or terrible, and who are known to abscond with humans, although we're certain these humans are safe and happy on Olympus or under the green hill, not dead like they'd be with those blood suckers.
No one who had not seen both Apollo, God of the Sun, and the horrible vampire who chowed down on the neighbor two doors down would realize: they're the same entity.
To make it even harder for the poor mortals (and easier for the vampires!), vampires look different in different lighting conditions. After all, something that sparkles in the sunlight will also sparkle in the moonlight, the firelight, etc., it's just a matter of degrees. So some vampires would hang out in moonlit glens, for that 'fairy of the moonlight' feel, while others would set themselves up in temples with a many fires as they could manage. I mean, if you're going to call yourself Apollo, God of the Sun, you had better be all sparkle all of the time! Top all of this off with mind reading ability that lets traveling vampires fit into the local not-vampire-vampire mythos and yeah, the humans don't stand a chance.
It's great! Things are wonderful! Even if someone does see you devour a hapless victim and run screaming 'vampire' in the town, you can always just eat them next. No big deal. Only the stupid and careless are in real danger.
And then…
CALAMITY!
The head of the Roman Empire, that militant mass of well armed testosterone (and a bunch of less important people), converts to Christianity and proclaims there's only one god who is…not you.
Well shit.
Of course, if you're a lesser known vampire you can pass yourself off as an "Angel of the Lord" in a quick pinch, as long as you're talking to a peasant who's too illiterate to realize you're lacking in the eye and wing department (good news - this is most everyone), but you can't do that too often. And if everyone knows you as Apollo, God of the Sun?
Sucks to be you. You now have a bunch of very militant fundamentalists armed with sharp, pointy implements of destruction chasing after you with cries of 'demon' and 'false god'. Even with your supernatural speed, getting away from them is made far more difficult by the fact they can see you glittering from the other side of the market.
This is where vampires went nocturnal, since moonlight is less sparkle inducing than the sun. Then, since even that gets risky, they slowly moved into caves and cemeteries and the occasional creepy old castle that no sane person would enter without an explicit invitation to dinner, or for a real estate job. Something like that.
The next millennium was pretty dire. The millennium after that was…okay, also pretty dire, until suddenly, at the end of the twentieth century, a miracle! A remarkable shift brought about a change that would once again free vampires from their castles and cemeteries and allow them to walk safely among humans!
But they wouldn't go creeping off to the sun starved, water logged boonies of the Olympic rain forest. Oh hell no! They would go to the cities, to Soho, to Broadway, to places where they could strut proudly down the street to the envious stares of mortals and cries of "Damn, I wish I looked that good in body glitter!"

Is it possible for Luna to ascend to godhead again? Or is she "stuck" as an alicorn forever now :o And do alicorns age like normal ponies in your au or are they only mortal in the sense that they can be killed
No. But she could have…
Initiate explanation in 3… 2… 1…
To start: the reason Luna lost her Godhood has to do with Nightmare moon. Celestia took away that Godhood so she may safely extract the “illness” (now known as nightmare moon) from Luna. (Note: nightmare moon was feeding off the Godhood of Luna, which would’ve made her too powerful to simply erase. It was basically immortal)
Unfortunately, the “sickness” was able to place an unbreakable curse on Celestia before she could destroy it.
Celestia could have also helped Luna back to godhood… but due to Nightmare moon’s curse, she can no longer do so.
Edit: so major mistake in the first paragraph. Celestia wasn’t the one who took away Luna’s Godhood, it was the mane 6.
Celestia SENT Luna to the moon.
Luna came back and got Nae Nae’d by the mane 6 with the elements of harmony and then turned mortal.
The elements of harmony was strong enough to neutralize the curse that latched onto her Godhood, but not enough to save said Godhood.
There’s still a little left in her, but it’s nowhere NEAR what it was before.

in your au is zecora an earth pony, or does a different species such as a zebra or something closer to donkeys/asses exist? how does zecora, coming from a foreign land, feel about giant gods walking around everywhere - is this a new sight for her, a complete surprise or perhaps something whispered about in tales in her lands, or is there something similar to living, giant where she is from and in other regions as well?
There are many sentient species in the world beyond the main 3 "ponies" which are not all equines. Earth ponies are horses, unicorns are a species of deer, and pegasus share a common ancestor with griffins.
Horses, pegasus, and unicorns are only considered one species socially, because they can interbreed due to compatible chromosomes. However, the foal will always be either a horse, pegasus, or unicorn with no physical traits from the other species. It will be fully one thing or another, as will its children.
Zebras and donkeys are not earth ponies (horses) but they are closely related enough that they can hybridize with them. Non-horse "ponies" (pegasus and unicorns) cannot hybridize with zebras/donkeys. Hybrid offspring within the equines are sterile.
Unicorns can breed freely with horses and pegasus, as well as their relatives, the Kirin. Kirin/unicorn hybrids are sterile. They cannot breed with zebras/donkeys/griffins.
Pegasus can breed freely with horses and unicorns, but cannot breed with kirin, zebras, or donkeys. Pegasus can breed with griffins, and their offspring are known as hippogriffs, which are not sterile and have grown to create an entire new species. They have hybrid vigor and grow larger than either of their ancestor species.
Zecora is not surprised to see Celestia, as she carries the sun around the entire planet, including her home continent. Celestia is known through the world, and worshiped in some way or another through most of it.
Before and after her imprisonment in the moon, Luna is also known throughout the world as the bringer of night and keeper of dreams.
There are other gods besides alicorns. In Zecora's homeland, there are four great trees that stretch into the sky. These trees are actually the legs of Boabab, God of Life. Many thousand years ago, Boabab walked among Zecora's people, before its long neck stretched into the heavens to look for life among the stars. This god is much older and taller than Celestia, so Zecora was not particularly overwhelmed upon seeing her or any of the smaller princesses.
Other regions also have gods, but ponies tend to only care about equestria and often do not believe other species are important enough to become gods.

FIRST REAL POST ON THE PONY BLOG: A MODIFIED MAGIC SYSTEM >:D
in equestria, all magic can be traced back to 5 core elements, and 2 "super elements": light & dark magic, sky magic, earth magic, and crystal magic, alongside harmony & chaos magic.
LIGHT MAGIC, alongside DARK MAGIC, are 2 elements that hold dominion over all that falls outside of the sky. these 2 split off into fire magic, shadow magic, and (when both are harnessed via chaos magic) transformation magic. their respective pony races are kirin and batponies.
SKY MAGIC is what forms the atmosphere surrounding the planet equestria is found on, and is responsible for all weather on the planet. sky magic does not have any known submagics, but it does have one pony race; the pegasi. hippogriffs used to be a sky pony race, but their transformation into seaponies changed their sky magic into earth magic.
EARTH MAGIC is what flows through everything attached to the surface of equestria, & the earth as a whole. its most commonly-known submagics are plant magic & water magic. its main pony race is earth ponies, but you can find its magic in multiple other races(though to lesser degrees) as well.
CRYSTAL MAGIC is found in places with high concentrations of magic, typically forming crystals in the area. its used mainly to harness & contain magic in items as well as ponies; as crystal ponies show off in their magic retention abilities. it is also the only kind of magic capable of whithstanding magic-draining spells.
HARMONY MAGIC is the glue that keeps all other magics in working alongside one another. it splits off into the elements of harmony and(alongside light magic) rainbow magic. harmony magic is also necessary in the creation of alicorns, requiring one pony to accumulate a variety of different magics into themselves and also hold themselves together long enough for harmony magic to form & the transformation to take place.
if harmony magic is the glue that holds all magic in place, then CHAOS MAGIC is the solvent that breaks those bonds. when there is a lack of magic in a single place, all other magics in the area rush in to fill the void which often results in different magics clashing against eachother, forming chaos magic. when a pony gains chaos magic, they often end up lacking the abilities their race is supposed to have & sometimes gaining new ones. the "pony" race associated with chaos magic is the draconequus, a pony who contained & maintained a large amount of chaos magic on top of a variety of other magics to transform themselves into something unrecognizable. as of now, there has only ever been one succesful transformation, as its very easy for a pony to explode from the sheer pressure of that much magic in 1 body.

An AU where Alicorns are deities and they are often known to choose a mortal as their favorite in one way or another. An Alicorns chosen gets a longer lifespan, stronger magic, and often become important religious and political figures. Whether this is a good thing or not is up to the chosen one, for how are you supposed to react to a god forcefully holding you back from the afterlife, forcefully keeping you alive to stay with them forever.
Optional additions-
An alicorns chosen do have a great chance of ascension. This has happened before. Other mortals can ascend as well, Cadence is an example of a mortal ascension without being a chosen. Discord is an anomaly
Celestia had always promised herself that she wouldn't hold a mortal back from their peaceful rest like her and Luna's old friend Discord had done to them. But she met her student, the closest thing she can ever have to a daughter. It wouldn't hurt if she lived a little longer would it?
Discord was friends with Celestia and Luna when they were merely mortals. He as a god couldn't bare to see the only beings that treated him with any respect die. So he just wouldn't let them leave. Eventually he got to see them become deities in their own right. His current friend Fluttershy....she is different from those two. He couldn't bare to see her stay, she wouldn't survive eternity like he knew Celestia and Luna could. She deserves to rest.
Cadence is a recently ascended goddess, who is rather new to the concept of the whole thing. She was never told of consequences that may occur if she married her husband shining Armor. She didn't realize the consequences until she and him noticed that he wasn't aging anymore. And that Shining's sister Twilight Sparkle isn't aging either.
Twilight's ascension either doesn't happen or happens much much later. It certainly doesn't happen in the main shows time-line.
Shining Armor has a decent chance of ascension as well. Sometimes deities just ascend in sets. The Celestial sisters, and Twilight Sparkle and Shining Armor.

Yandere Platonic Sunny Starscout with Alicorn reader as mentor
Sure! This is a soft yandere so sorry it's not that intense. It's more just... clingy and cute? I wasn't sure how to make this dark :( I just want them happy lol.
Soft "Yandere!" Platonic! Sunny Starscout with Alicorn Mentor! Darling
Pairing: Platonic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Clingy behavior, Soft yandere, Delusional yandere, Subtle manipulation, Jealousy, Dubious companionship/Consensual companionship.
Tumblr media
Let's be honest, Sunny needs an alicorn mentor that isn't someone like Opaline manipulating her.
So let's make this a little AU.
You'd essentially be a modern version of Celestia and Twilight with Sunny.
You teach her how she's meant to use her new Alicorn powers.
She's an interesting case for you since you've never seen an Earth Pony have Alicorn magic like her.
Not even during the centuries you've been alive.
Alicorns have always usually been born or a role given to successful unicorn students.
You don't mind her odd origin…she's still an Alicorn you feel you should look after.
Especially with someone like Opaline out there who would like to use her.
You probably were an Alicorn sealed away or something who was then found by Sunny and her friends.
You most likely help her get rid of Opaline and might even help her after.
Your new home becomes Maretime Bay with Sunny, who you take in as your student.
I imagine Sunny has all sorts of questions for you, quickly writing down every bit of information you give her.
She may even ask if you've known Twilight.
Sunny sees you as both a teacher and parental figure.
Which makes her get attached as she's been forced to mature for a long time now.
You are primarily her teacher but also help teach her friends lessons.
After all, they are the main symbols of friendship now.
You feel it's your duty to help them mature.
Sunny is embarrassed to admit you're like a parent to her at first.
She's never met an Alicorn other than Opaline and Twilight in her message.
Yet you're just so kind and attentive to her feelings.
She probably lets it slip that she sees you like a parent by accident.
Y'know how you make the mistake of calling your teacher mom? It's like that.
You excuse it and even allow her to see you like a parent.
In terms of the darker parts of her obsession, there probably aren't many.
She is extremely optimistic.
Which may make her the more delusional type of yandere.
If she felt jealous towards anyone she'd try to rationalize with herself rather than lash out.
Well, you are a teacher… Of course others need your help!
Sunny may be more of a clingy yandere rather than outright aggressive.
She believes in Unity and doesn't want to go against that.
So she just tries to force herself into what you're doing.
Be it a boring or fun task she just wants to be involved with you.
Sunny melts when you teach and parent her.
She loves all the affection you give her like hugs and learns every lesson you give.
Sunny seems like she's attached to the hip with you.
She never wants to leave you alone.
As I said before, she's more likely to be delusional than possessive.
You two were just meant to learn from each other!
No pony can ruin such a bond!
Sunny would only really sabotage you by following you closely around.
Everything you do must include her.
She won't hurt others to be close to you… but she'll be hard to get rid of.
Why would you want to anyways?
You're her parent and teacher…
Surely that must mean you do everything together, right?

Best princess has arrived! All hail the empress of the night!
Genuinely I had so much fun with Luna. I really wanted to keep the slay of Nightmare Moon to show the scars such a tragedy left.
Also here's Luna before Nightmare Moon, and the lore I made:
Tumblr media
(not happy with the anatomy but oh well)
Luna always struggled with not getting recognized for her efforts. She fought against nightmares in the dream world all alone for centuries. Rarely would ponies remember her visiting or helping.
Her sister Celestia was praised and loved. While Luna was often overshadowed.
She put a lot of pressure on herself, insisting she would be fine. She would protect Equestria during night like Celestia did during day.
Luna kept nightmare creatures from escaping the dream realm. But when she failed to destroy one, Celestia would deal with it. Followed by scolding from Starswirl, their mentor.
The Nightmare creatures feed on negativity, fear, and doubts. All of which Luna was filled with. But although they tried to cause her further distress, she didn't yield. Only destroying more of them.
But with every vanquished nightmare, some of their darkness would cling to Luna, corruption from nightmare energy accumulating. But it wasn't her downfall. Rather, something else was being fed within her.
A nightmare made from Luna's self doubts, hatred and sorrow. A being that fed of the corruption left behind by the many nightmares slain. A being just as powerful if not more than Luna. One that grew stronger, and stronger. A being that will be known as Nightmare Moon.
Luna had always harbored jealousy for Celestia, and anger towards the ponies of Equestria. But Nightmare Moon wanted to act upon it. Likewise did the nightmares stuck in the dream realm. They recognized Nightmare Moon within Luna, as not just one of them, but a being that could bring them the power needed to take over the waking world. They need only wait for the perfect moment to strike.
Luna kept to herself her struggles, and when she did reach out, nobody understood. Eventually she started to listen to the voice in her head. She grew more angrier, tired, jealous.
One day, she gave in, too tired to keep fighting. Letting Nightmare Moon take over. Quickly she regretted it however...
What followed was a battle between the sisters, and Nightmare Moon being sealed away to the Moon. Luna alongside her.
But even when stuck in the moon, did Luna try to travel dreams. Likewise did Nightmare Moon do the same.
She fought valiantly against the nightmares even when in exile. She sent dreams to warn her sister, tried talking with her. But... None were received. The Nightmares made sure of that.
So Luna had to play dirty sometimes, sending nightmares warning of threats she saw from the moon. But not always were they remembered. Even more rarely did Nightmare Moon let her.
For a millenia she tried to at least alleviate the pain caused by her mistakes. And for millenia none would notice.
Until a certain Twilight Sparkle, student of Celestia, received vague visions of a grim future. Followed by her beginning research on "The Mare in the Moon" in her dreams. Luna finally, had found someone who didn't forget her warnings.
Twilight told Celestia of her worries, and Celestia sent her on a journey to Ponyville. There which similar events to the show's pilot episodes would take place.
-
Anyways yeah that's my rewrite of the Nightmare Moon. Yes it's sadder and darker but it's my rewrite I do what I want.
I took heavy inspiration from the "Nightmare Rarity" comic about how Nightmare creatures exist etc, and how Nightmare Moon happened. Even if not canon I still adore the concepts-
I also wanted to add to why Celestia believed in Twilight's potential so much. Not just because of her magic, but because she actually heard Luna's pleas and warnings. Something even Celestia struggled with. Which was the catalyst to her realizing that, yes, Twilight is gonna make a great Alicorn one day! (Then Gen5 happened and fucked the lore up)

i dont think i ever shared my mlp redesigns. they're just little doodles i didn't really clean them up but i think they're cute ^_^ only the first three for now, i'll share the next three later on
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
some facts about my redesign/au versions of the ponies under the cut
Magic isn't race-exclusive. It's based on the individual's aptitude rather than whether they're a unicorn or not. There are some constants such as like. levitating small objects (they're horses. their asses cannot grab anything) but usually you have a 'specialization' or two. this is what replaces cutie marks simply because i don't feel like designing cutie marks.
Regardless, there are some general stereotypes. For example, most pegasi have enough magic energy to fly, but some have less than others. Fluttershy, for example, most of her magic is creature-focused, so she doesn't have a lot of energy left over for flight. She's not very good at it. Rainbow, on the other hand, specializes in flight.
Twilight is a unique case because she doesn't have a specialization. She can use all kinds of magic but her powers are a bit unstable due to this. She trained under Celestia and was kind of 'planned' to become an alicorn from the start? This feeds into her insecurity of having to prove herself because she has to be ready to accept her duties! Essentially, she's semi-noble but not that well-known due to holing herself up in her room and getting absorbed in research.
Rarity specializes in. idk how it's called but she can put little good-luck charms on the things she makes. I imagine she's not entirely open about this because she likes seeing other ponies' pleasant surprise when good things happen to them. She's caught up in her appearance and dyes her mane purple (it's actually a light green similar to her eyes and hooves).
Rainbow dash is awesome asf!!! she's the youngest in the group and can be kind of immature at times. Her insistence on being 'cool' and 'the best' is part of her loyal nature. She's worried that she loves her friends more than they love her, so she tries to act as awesome as possible so they'd never want her to leave. She specializes in flight/cloud magic.

I love your MLP infection AU! Genuine question, how would Starlight’s cutie mark removal spell/the Staff of Sameness factor into the AU? Since the infection is centered on Cutie Marks, could that be a cure/temporary solution of sorts? Or could the infection still latch onto the replacement cutie mark and cause the illness or even mutate it?
Starlight’s staff was given its power by Starlight herself, so she could most likely find another staff to cast her magic onto.
The only problem is that, if she ever gets infected, there are only two options: either she write down the spell so someone with powerful magic could replicate it, or the spell can’t be done at all.
And even if the spell can be done, it has its own issues.
For one, that would require taking away the personality and destiny of a pony. If no other solution ever comes, this could mean a pony living the rest of their life completely numb and colorless.
But that is the best case scenario.
While it is rare, a neutral cutie mark can mutate. This usually only happens if a person is already infected before the procedure, but it can also occur in ponies that have really strong magic or talents. This causes a subset of the Meanie Mark Virus, where a pony slowly loses color, distinguishing features, and, finally, all physical proof that they are a pony —this is known colloquially as “bleaching”. They do not die, and they aren’t aggressive, but they simply wander the landscape, looking for their lost cutie mark. These are known as Bleaches. Luckily, it is not contagious.
Another issue is how difficult removing a cutie mark of an already infected pony is. You can physically see black tendrils cling to the cutie mark, which leads to a magical tug of war that is not only excruciating, but can lead to the contamination of others. Powerful ponies, such as alicorns, the Mane Six, and anyone with great physical or magical strength, have an especially hard time removing infected marks. The pain can be so great in these cases that it can cause lasting trauma, damage to magic, chronic pain, and, in some cases, death.
The last problem is with the storage of these cutie marks. Would the virus fizzle out, like a flame without oxygen, or would it keep feeding in the magic of the cutie mark? What would happen if the marks happened to get out, even far into the future? If an infected mark has nowhere to return to (the pony that owned it died, for example), what would it do? Could another epidemic erupt if the case was uncovered hundreds of years into the future?
This could work, at least as a temporary solution, but it would require careful study and great caution.

I know everyone should focus on the allegations of Lily orchard because ultimately that’s the most important, I’d like to raise a point and swing back to the fanfiction to ask a question to die hard Lily supporters.
No need to get into specifics, Stockholm was a story created by Lily under her dead deadname that involved abuse, pedophilia, etc etc.
What i can’t seem to fathom when there’s an argument against her lying is…why? Lily has constantly changed her story of the fanfiction multiple times.
Starting with the most well known quote of “can’t use Stockholm, I wrote that one” Lily has multiple sources where she directly acknowledges that she was part of the stories creation
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The most interesting part of this, is that multiple times she has addressed the work by its name, Stockholm.
Then she went on to deny ever creating the piece in the height of the drama with Josh, where he flat out states that she wrote it, only for her in audio to say that he “could’ve pulled it from any fanfiction site” and show a censored screen shot blurring any information pointing to the exact contents of the story. While that tweet directly had been deleted, this tweet, posted on the same day he showed a screenshot of the fanfiction, proving exactly what the contents involved were.
Tumblr media
She then some years later posted that, no, actually, it was originally called Scars, and the sex scenes were only added in because haters gonna hate man. So now it was “I didn’t write Stockholm, I wrote something else” despite, for years, only ever acknowledging it as Stockholm
Tumblr media
All of these things are flown out the water when you remember that the @the-last-alicorn is still up and if you search her name on the blog it directly shows her account (now nuked) tied to the series.
And now, in its conclusion, both in KP’s video and in a recent stream she did, she finally admits that she did write Stockholm, addressing it by its actual name, and that it was taken out of context and, in stream, that she simply was just dumb and shouldn’t have wrote the things she did.
So my apologies, that’s actually five different stories, not 4.
This is where I have to ask supporters: at what point do you acknowledge that Lily is simply a liar? Instead of from the jump just saying “I wrote something that I don’t agree with now” as she did in her recent stream, she went on for years blaming haters, bronies, AI even when it wasn’t in public use yet. I’m pretty sure the amount of dragging she got for that alone wouldn’t have been as severe as it has been. Yeah there prolly still would ppl be weirded out by her but at least she wouldn’t be a liar. And in turn, if she can lie about something as simple as this, why in the hell is it so unbelievable that she could lie about molesting her sister, or being an abusive friend, or anything else?
Personally, I don’t even buy the idea that her tumblr just suddenly got mass reported so bad it was deleted, I genuinely think she started to realize just how much shit is housed on her account that she simply deleted it herself, but I could always just be a biased lil shit waffle constantly inclined to think the worst.

infected au is popular rn.
My take on how an infection would work in MLP actually puts twilight in the hot spot and has to do with older generations.
I think the changelings are descendants of the Breezies since we know in G4 they make several references as far back as G1. And if they are willing to make those references, then the times where Equestria is in danger of full collapse. So I don't think its a far cry to say something like an infection where a being in a magical world becomes feral and seeks out more magic... sounds a lot like a changeling right? Back in the earlier generations alicorns were rare but still just normal ponies, I think the evolution over time turned the infected Breezies into Changelings, and the evolution of alicorns to be more than normal ponies, only made more so by the eventual segregation and then re-integration of other races, something that is shown to happen over and over again.
So how is this Twilight's fault? Friendship.
Twilight introduced the changelings, even though reformed, into pony society. Sure they evolved to be one with the magic consuming rabies, but that doesn't mean the ponies did, and you know what happens when integration happens? Breeding. They obviously have the capability, given how they can change into anything but choose to mostly be ponies.
That offspring is so unpredictable. Whos to say it wont draw on that old rabid DNA?
Subject Zero is probably one of those offspring, and the show has shown over and over that only ponies can have cutie marks, but others do want them, and they are a source of some great magic. What if this hybrid offspring doesn't want love, what if it wants magic? It canonically is not just unicorns that have magic in the MLP universe, the magic of cutie marks is what makes earth ponies so strong, what makes the Pegasi able to fly and stand on clouds.
An outbreak of this, with no real knowledge of how to stop it would be devastating. Especially if some retired immortals got infected, wouldnt it?
I think twilight would be pushed to the edge for answers, pushed enough to remove all the magic from equestria to save her ponies. Magic items are known to last eons in this world, and surely it would outlast this ravenous virus, but with out the magic, even alicorns will die a natural length of life.
So yeah, she starved out the infected ponies, she was more successful than the last time it happened, but that caused the rift between species once more and now no one has magic or cutie marks.

Princess Celestia - Heiress of the Sun
Once a humble unicorn, Celestia earned her cutie mark as a simple sun when she joined the mages guild responsible for raising and lowering the sun each dawn and dusk. It was quickly made apparent that she and her sister held a special talent for it, and the guild was finally able to allocate resources to other projects, including researching the "Sunstone" and "Moonstone" - pieces of rock thought to harness the very power of the heavenly bodies they were named after.
A researcher named Starswirl came up with the brilliant idea to have the sisters wear the stones while they handled the passing of time, and that very day the first two Alicorns were created.
Celestia and Luna had the stones crafted into matching tailbands, and they began to study further magic- even training with Pegasi and Earth Ponies to get used to their new abilities.
As time passed and the two sisters seemed to age at an exceptionally slow rate, it was declared that these two, who had taken over the raising and lowering of the sun and moon completely on their own would be named rulers of Equestria.
The two tried to refuse, but in the end only managed to talk down the other leaders from being named Queens, and were instead declared Princesses.
Celestia quickly became the favored princess (though, she had always been the favored student) she was decorated in gold, while her sister was given silver ornaments. The two sisters liked to match, but the people called for a distinction, and so they accepted it. Although Celestia thought it silly and humored her subjects, she never did realize just how much Luna resented being given "second best".
When they harnessed the Elements of Harmony in order to defeat Discord, Celestia's cutie mark "expanded" - the first known case of this phenomenon. Radial beams extended from the sun on her flank.
As time passed, and her understanding of magic grew, Celestia's mane began to shift, becoming more ethereal and shifting in colors as it moved. From the deep rich red of her original mane to a soft gold into a stark white.
And when the day came that she had to face her sister's twisted form in combat, Celestia harnessed the elements again, using them to lock her sister in the moon. A thin white ring appeared around the sun in her cutie mark that day, and her horn and wingtips turned golden, reflecting the powerful magic she'd used to protect Equestria.
This Celestia is a bit more detached from her subjects. She still attends balls and oversees the Summer Sun Celebration, but she rarely judges things such as cooking competitions or flower arrangements. She rarely leaves Canterlot, instead reigning from afar and through the Nobles scattered across the country.

Alright so I’ve finally finished all of Make Your Mark on Netflix (I have no interest in Tell Your Tale) and, well… I certainly have thoughts. Unfortunately I felt MLP G5 (even including A New Generation) was pretty weak. I don't HATE G5 of course, but it certainly has problems. Not counting the ton of continuity errors and plot holes and retcons from G4, most of the episodes + specials on their own I found flat and boring.
And yes I KNOW that G5 deserves to be its own thing and shouldn’t rely 100% on G4’s popularity but come on… a sequel series still needs SOME connection to its predecessor, and G5 has so little of it?? And the worst part is that the super sparse FIM references were for legal reasons, which makes me even wonder why bother setting it in the same universe as G4 instead of just making a complete reboot. And yes I’ve heard that the G5 comics actually go deeper into the lore, but important worldbuilding details should be included in the show proper, not in supplemental materials.
So yeah, that only inspired me to make even more changes for my MLP next gen AU. Starting with a bunch of different ideas I have for Opaline. More details about my revamped design and backstory for her under the cut
First off, her canon design is way too gaudy and takes away a lot of her intended scare factor, so I redesigned her with multiple variants. For all versions I removed her blue eyeshadow and the braids around her ears (too ridiculous-looking and difficult for me to draw), and made her hair a bit more asymmetrical.
As for my version of her backstory, rather than Opaline being over a thousand years old and having known Celestia and Luna when they were fillies, I made Opaline a former student of Twilight who became her successor as the next Alicorn Princess. Only Opaline didn't do a great job as a ruler which caused Twilight to drain her of her magic and banish her to the outskirts of Equestria.
But after Twilight died of old age (don't ask me why Twilight didn't find a new successor, still working that out) the magic shield locking Opaline outside Equestria faded and allowed her back in. So she was the one who caused disharmony between ponies all over again (yeah kind of a repeat of the Nightmare Moon situation but), and additionally kidnapped Misty as a filly to use her as a spy and do tasks to help Opaline get her powers back, including her wanting to steal dragon fire to become a fire Alicorn like in canon.
Made this change for two reasons 1) the whole “ancient villain who knew Celestia and Luna back in the day escaped now and is planning to wreak havoc on modern Equestria” has been done a hundred times already in FIM, let a new villain form literally during Twilight’s reign 2) it would keep the rejection aspect of Opaline's canon backstory but give her more personal beef with Twilight which is why Opaline targets her
so my AU wouldn't just have all ponies restore unity and then have Opaline just come as a threat right after like A New Generation + Make Your Mark did. Achieving harmony between pony AND non-pony kind would be done over the course of a series and not just one movie, with Equestria being restored + Misty being freed after Opaline's defeat. The Unity Crystals still play a role in my AU, with Twilight having created them as a new alternative to the Elements of Harmony rather than just a macguffin to stop Opaline specifically.
Also if it were up to me I like my #3 redesign the best, the blue hues would probably fit the best for a fire-based villain (fire being blue when it's hottest and all) but that depends on if/when I wanna draw my AU Opaline in the future

Poll Winner
Out of everything, I was not expecting the MLP AU to be the winner hahaha but I can't say I'm complaining! Here comes the fun part though! I do apologize
I finally got some free time to share a few tidbits about "WordFilly" because I literally could not come up with a better name. I also plan to turn on asks, so you can ask me things about the AU's - I'd welcome it.
WordFilly is an alternate universe ft. Wordgirl and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (MLP/FiM), so here's what I'm thinking so far. Fair City is known for its magic as a lot of villains have powers, but I decided to get a little silly with this. I honestly haven't quite decided this bit.
Becky is still an alien, so I feel she isn't a normal run-of-the-mill pony, but she also looks like an earth pony or something in order to blend in with the crowd! Huggy could either continue being a monkey, or he's like a dragon - I'm not sure which yet!
And now we're going to break this down-
Read more for additional content!
WordFilly Character Species
The Botsford Family - Sally Botsford (earth pony, cutie mark undecided; is still the District Attorney - has a wavy red mane and tail, knows Spanish); Tim Botsford (earth pony, cutie mark undecided; part-time substitute teacher, also works at an office - looks a lot like a Clydesdale, but smaller); TJ Botsford (earth pony, cutie mark undecided; blank flank). I mulled so long over this AU for a while - and I did decide Becky’s species but for now, I’m going to keep this quiet. All will be revealed in due time!
Violet is a unicorn because I said so; as she's the whimsical artist, I immediately thought she would be a unicorn! It felt fitting for her character.
Personally, I see Scoops as either an earth pony or a Pegasus, I'm unclear as to which right now.
Tobey's 100% a unicorn. I don't make the rules. This is canon now. (only I do make the rules because it's my AU /lh). I also see Victoria as being a unicorn attempting to pretend she's an alicorn or something because she would.
Villains;
Chuck the Evil Sandwich Making Guy - earth pony; cutie mark's a sandwich stacked on a platter (this might change, but idk yet-). He does still have a sandwich head because why not
Dr. Two Brains - earth pony/mouse hybrid; has mouse ears, whiskers, and a long mouse tail - though it weirdly resembles a rat's own. DTB could also be another species that isn't mouse but I think that would defeat the purpose. I know someone who mixed him with a parasprite and I kind of thought it was cute though!
Mr. Big is also an earth pony-
Whammer is a unicorn. That's it. That's the post.
I feel like Miss Question is 100% a Pegasus and that her powers come from sort of pendant (much like something I plan to do with Eileen but we'll get to her later-). Though I love her hoverboard thing, so maybe she's a unicorn? I can't decide, to be honest.
For Eileen, she's an earth pony - her powers are fueled by the amulet, same as in canon! She's short for a pony, and she hates it so much.
Speedrun for the rest of the villains!
The Butcher - unicorn, his cutie mark is a slab of meat that is faintly covered in a hue of red. LRW is 100% a unicorn though she's mixed with something else, don't ask me what just yet. Amazing Rope Guy is an earth pony; uhhh, Seymour is a unicorn and extremely obnoxious- D2B's henchmen are an earth pony and unicorn. Leslie is an earth pony.
Rhyme and Reason are a Pegasus and unicorn. These might switch later!
Miss Power is [REDACTED].
Worldbuilding
WordFilly follows the Wordgirl series if the characters were ponies instead of humans - or an alien and the citizens of Fair City. The city is mostly inhabited by ponies and has become a foundation for magic, and not to mention superheroes and of course supervillains. No one knows when it began but after seeing Amazo Stallion for the first time, Fair City became enamored at the prospect.
Amazo Stallion had been a unicorn though some could almost swear they'd seen him with wings once or twice, but that simply couldn't be possible: no one had seen alicorns in such a long time. As time continued, the legacy of Amazo Stallion and other likeminded heroes continued to prosper until he vanished. There wasn't any reason behind his explanation; he just... disappeared.
With time however, unexpected changes happen...
When a young filly named Becky Hoofsford was found by her adoptive parents - Tim and Sally. Nopony knew where she'd come from, other than the fact she was found on the front porch by Tim. For some reason, she had a pamphlet in her hooves and had been reading through it which was certainly a little odd (but Tim would never say he'd been bothered by it. If anything, he found it endearing of how smart his little Beckaroni was-)
Unwilling to leave a young filly out on her own, Sam and Tim Hoofsford take her in. I imagine they try to find her family, but end up finding nopony and Becky becomes their adoptive daughter! I’m still developing certain aspects of this universe and well, I think I’d be a poor host if I revealed everything so quickly!
With the exception of a few characters, I feel like most of the ponies do in fact, have their cutie marks. TJ doesn’t have his… Johnson? Probably not! Though I do need to decide exactly what said cutie marks are because my ass is very picky!
If anyone is curious on this universe as a whole, I can make more content but honestly right now - I don’t have too many spoons to fully go into detail and I’m trying to keep spoilers from reaching all of you just yet heh—

Redesigned my pony sona :)
Creature Feature, usually called just Creed, is a pretty laid-back unicorn who lives on the edges of town. His special talent is archeology and anthropology and he usually spends his time digging up and displaying artifacts. He lets people come and look at them for free (I imagine he has a lot of respect for other cultures so he doesn’t display anything belonging to anyone else. He also doesn’t touch anything resembling graves :)
His magic is relatively below average but he mainly only needs it to hold tools, books, or a bong. He also keeps his tail tied up and out of the way and he also uses it as a brush to gently brush away dirt or dust. He also just really likes worms.
He comes from unicorn parents but his dad’s side has earth pony genes, giving Creed his more bulky, earth pony body type. He’s pretty strong and can put up a good fight if he needs to!

And here’s Oliver and Ryder as ponies, just for fun! :) they had designs a while back (not sure if I shared those here?) but they were really ugly. I like these ones much better!
Early Riser, also known as Prince Riser, is the alicorn prince of springtime and youth. He embodies the spirit of being young, carefree, and spending everyday seizing opportunity and being happy. Born a Pegasus with two sets of wings, he has never been able to fly. He was born into a royal, well-off family of incredible fliers. Early on in his life, Riser was greatly disheartened by his inability to fly with the other foals his age. That is until he found a mysterious egg in the woods! After earning his horn and becoming a prince alicorn, Riser spends his days with his brother and bodyguard Iver Inkwell, finding new ways to capture the spirit of youth and inspire ponies and creatures of all ages to enjoy every sunny and rainy day!
Iver Inkwell is an unusual sight. He is a mix between a Pegasus pony and griffin. His parents unknown, he was discovered as an egg by a little Early Riser and taken back to the wealthy colt’s family. From there, he hatched and his new family adopted him as one of their own. Iver was also only born with one right wing, rendering him flightless. As an adult, he is now, officially the bodyguard and adopted brother Prince Riser and stays by his side almost 24/7 (though, he would’ve probably done that anyway). He’s also a poet and writes angsty poems at night. Iver is a bit of the pessimistic side and often seems to appear as Prince Riser’s mysterious, shadowy bodyguard. But get talking to him and it turns out he’s just autistic and usually prefers to listen until he feels he has something he must say. He doesn’t like to make idle chatter, but he’ll listen to others ramble for hours.
They are brothers and they are flightless and they are best friends forever :)
