After making a collage of Belle x Beast, I decided to do another one like it for Ariel x Eric, as they are also one of my favourite Disney couples. Like the previous collage, I didn't limit myself to the animated 1989 film and included the other franchises/medias they have appeared.

Well, the good thing about media is that literally nothing stops you from recreating it. And I’m not talking about fanfictions, no. Fanfictions are good, but I mean you can go so much further than that! While fics can be satisfying and you don’t have to accept canon, ultimately, fanfictions will always be just that until the source material becomes public domain and that might take a while before people can use their creativity to create prominent media based on it. However, you can literally always take the potential of a story and use it for a new one. You can literally rewrite it and reinvent it in your very own way. Take the plot or premise of a movie or show that you like and that had its potential ruined by its writers or producers but just change the setting, make OCs based on the characters you love and have them live the story you think they should have had or play the role you think they should have played in it.

You think another character should have been revealed to been revealed to be the Big Bad in your favorite TV show? No problem, just rewrite the story, change their name and make them the villain they should have been. You’re frustrated because a character started out well-rounded and interesting but the writers ruined them and took away all their charm? That’s okay, you can recreate them and this time you can be sure they won’t be ruined! You’re upset because a piece of media you liked lacked grandeur and whimsy? You can just create a new piece of media that will have those things and won’t frustrate you as much as the original! Write it! Draw it! Animate it! Create it in a simulation game! Cosplay as your own characters! Heck, make LIVE ACTION movies or shows, long or short, even if your material is not professional! People have created absolutely amazing things with a very limited budget! It’s possible, you just have to believe it! Cosplayers sometimes create much better costumes than major studios! And I’m sure you can find people that would love to star in your project, even if it’s just your friends! Have fun! You can have FULL control! You can create exactly the type of content that you want or need! All you have to be is passionate and you can also find other people that are just as passionate!

You can do anything with your stories and characters. They’re yours! It’s free and that way you don’t have to worry about copyrights or wait until big corporations get their greedy and uncreative hands off of your favorite media for someone to finally do something good with it. And even if it does enter public domain soon enough, who is going to be that someone? It could be you! In fact, it can only be you! But if all you do is complain about the wasted potential of your favorite series but do nothing about it, you will end up wasting YOUR own potential! You’re creative and passionate! Stop waiting! Do it now! Who knows? You could end up creating something that could resonate with so many people and become the Next Big Thing! And even if it’s just one person that reads/watches it and enjoys it, it’s great! Even if that person is you! At least you’ll be satisfied!

This Disney crossover femslash collage is of Belle of Beauty and the Beast and Ariel of The Little Mermaid. I threw in their Once Upon a Time counterparts, with them being friends in the ABC series and the two also know each other in Ralph Breaks the Internet. It also allows me to feature Belle and Ariel in a pattern here, animation, live-action and CGI.
