The fact the Drifter doesn't even feel like they belong in the Origin System is honestly painful. The fact they feel like everyone likes the Operator more because it's originally their timeline, and they've just grown to already accept that. The fact they feel actually at home in the fucking year of 1999.

The fact they feel like they were essentially being used when being sent back to 1999, but they end up staying and feeling more at home in the year despite being sent there like an errand boy. Feeling at home in a place you've barely been in for too long compared to everywhere else you've been for the rest of your life? That must feel wild, y'know? And exciting, but also terrifying.

They just have never felt like they belonged anywhere, basically, but when being sent off on a mission by the Lotus they end up actually feeling like the place they ended up felt like home. People finally care about them, and even love them. Friendships were formed and maybe even a true and genuine heartfelt relationship. Sure, they're still surrounded by daily threats like the Scaldra and Techrot, but there's people who actively care about their well-being now.

Imagine it, no longer actually being alone for most of your life? Having people who worry about you, for the first time in who knows how many years? Getting genuine human (as 'human' as the protoframes get) interaction instead of being called around to do jobs? To simply just exist in such a place? It must feel like a huge breath of fresh air

It's so human and it's so real. You finally begin to heal from the trauma that's been a part of essentially most- if not all your life before arriving. It's such a stark contrast to how things are in the Origin System. I wouldn't want to leave either.

There are always 2 sides.

The discourse around Louis and Lestat being a victim and abuser and nothing more drives me insane.

Something i don't think enough people remember is that the very same reason the fight began in 1×05 (lestat grabbing claudia by the throat when she tries to "take louis away") we see Louis himself do to her in 1×07 when she tries to get Louis to burn Lestat.

They BOTH would harm her rather than live in a world without the other. They are both guilty of abusing her and each other.

There is an implication that a good deal of time passed between Louis and Lestat meeting and the church. Louis expresses that he shares himself with Lestat in a way he only had with Paul. I would assume that goes both ways, to a degree. We know Louis knows at least enough about Nicki to discourage Claudia poking that wound. He also clearly knows that the threat of leaving is his most powerful weapon against Lestat.

Mental abuse is abuse. And Louis abused Lestat mentally for years. Shaming him, ridiculing him, shutting him out, manipulating him into making Claudia (a traumatic moment for him, whether Louis understands the depths of it or not) by promising to give him what he's being denying him, promising to never put him through what he fears the most.

Louis admits to purposely making Lestat suffer. He admits he was warned that Claudia would suffer and he wanted her anyway because he needed to feel redeemed. He is not innocent. He is not a trapped, weak victim. He made choices to hurt both Lestat and Claudia time and time again.

Does this justify Lestat's actions in 1×05? Obviously not. But we now know Louis was not willing to stop the fight. He taunted Lestat the same way he taunted the Alderman. He was unleashing years of frustrations just as Lestat was. His priority was not to protect Claudia, it was to hurt Lestat, consequences be damned.

I hate the drop scene as much as the next person and Lestat has admitted he will never earn forgiveness for what he did. But if you view Louis as some squeaky clean victim who was manipulated, trapped, and abused by Lestat you are missing so much of what this show is conveying.

We will always tend to paint ourselves as the hero of our own story. It is hard to accept your faults or that you hurt people you love. It is much easier to shift that blame on to someone else, to frame them as the villian. But life is not usually that black and white. Claudia had harsh words for them both in her diary, even before they got to Europe, for a reason. They both made hurtful mistakes with her, both treated her like a pawn in their relationship instead of a person, both harmed her, took away her choice, never prioritized her.

That is the great tragedy. That she never had a choice and was not allowed to be her own person. And in the end, they both are responsible for her misery and her death. That's what makes the reunion scene so important. They have been grieving her and carrying that guilt alone, all the while longing for the comfort of the other for 70+ years. Louis has found clarity in his memories, he has accepted his role in their suffering, he has seen Lestat's perspective more fully. Lestat is broken, totally consumed with that guilt and grief. Both know that although they cannot change what they've done, they can forgive the other, even if they can't forgive themselves. They can love each other despite everything they've done to one another because they cannot stop loving each other. But now they can try to rebuild that love from the rubble.

I genuinely think the main issues with Nandor and Guillermo is that they have completely different types of love language. Nandor isn't a words guys. He's never gonna say "I love you" or "You matter" or anything like that. He's never gonna tell someone how he feels deep down because that's not how he is. He's an actions dude. He holds hands, he protects, he, he jokes, he gives gifts. He sees acts of service as these deep intimate moments. Likewise, words mean very little to him so it doesn't occur to him to say anything because why would he need to. Guillermo, on the other hand is someone who needs words of validation. He needs to hear things, say things. And I think a really nice theme that's been prevalent throughout is their coming to mutually understand one another. To where we're at a point where Nanador is realising that Guillermo NEEDS to hear him say it. He needs him to say "You're super cool. You're a warrior. Fate brought us together. Come home." And Guillermo is realising that grabbing Nandor's hand and looking into his eyes is more intimate for him than anything else. This isn't a slow burn. This is the story of two people realising they've ALWAYS loved one another and I personally think that's really fucking beautiful tbh

Comment on A Certain Friend JD- And Mini Rant

So, a couple days ago I mentioned I would no longer be talking about A unless we get information directly from L. Well, I have decided to do something similar when it comes to JD. Outside of a potential work project announcement (which I actually think might be coming at SOME point), I will no longer be talking about JD unless we get information directly from N that clarifies her personal relationship with JD is anything more than friendship. And based on how N has responded to these rumors so far, I don't see that happening y'all.

I feel like a large portion of this fandom chooses to not look at the full picture or use their critical thinking skills when analyzing specific pieces of information. The spiraling just seems so unnecessary to me atp when there is a TON of evidence that L/N are doing A OK in their personal relationship (if you know what I mean 😉). I know that a lot of us are missing the crumbs and just want confirmation atp because not having concrete answers makes us frustrated and anxious... But choosing to spiral over every little piece of information related to A and/or JD being around L or N just seems exhausting and not fun to me, so I personally am choosing to not feed into that anymore. Feel free to DM me though if you would like to discuss something specifically related to A or JD.

Seriously, why do you care. Is your ship game that weak? Do you need a stamp of approval from other people for what you like and how you creatively express yourself? Because, sorry, but that's technically what that is and you don't need it.

C'mere. Come to auntie. Listen. I multiship like crazy and lots of weird and niche rare pairs too. Whenever any of my ships become canon that's pretty much an accident and a statistical outlier and because I just happened to like what the creators like for once. And then I usually think "oh that's nice" and go on with my madness. No getting smug and using it to put others down either!

I'm telling you this because I simply can't stress enough how much more chill and fun shipping is if you become deeply unbothered by what's canon, what the creators think and what other people approve of. Again, you need nobody's stamp of approval. And if people nag and bully you about what you like then these people suck and they have no right to demand explanations from you.

Make your case not to justify yourself to bullies - they won't be convinced anyway - but to get other people interested. Make your case through your art, your writing, your headcanons, your conversations with other fans. Make your case through passion.

And stop letting others tell you what you can and can't ship. Which goes both ways, just saying.

The claim that Peeta manipulated Katniss into being in a relationship with him makes no sense for several reasons, but what bothers me most about it is the implication that Peeta was content with being with her against her will. We know that's not true, given how upset he was when he had to propose to her.

Some people only look at things from Katniss's perspective and forget that Peeta had his own life and dreams and trauma. Yes it was a terrible situation for her but it was no better for him, and it's honestly kinda gross that people think he'd be happy with it just because he loved her. As if he wasn't giving up his future just as much as she was giving up hers, as if he wasn't losing the chance to ever find love with a partner who actually loved him back. From his POV, he'd always be with someone who didn't want to be with him. Who'd be happy with that life?

I keep seeing art of the fam going “meow” and “bark” but no!!!! That’s not what they say in vaugarde!!!! They say miaou and ouaf ouaf!!!!

The French onomatopoeia for a rooster crow is cocorico!!!! I can’t be alone in my knowledge!!!!
