I grew a spine

#well!#this is my first attempt at uhh oil painting animation and I think it's pretty good for the first time!#I see a lot of things that I can improve next time #yes - this was made with tlt in mind because I am very interested in experimenting with visuals of necromancy and stuff #but I don't know if i should tag it... because it doesn't look too connected yet?#animation #my art #btw these 5 seconds have almost 50 frames. I think I've spent around eight hours painting and four editing #I just took pictures with my phone so light and perspective were changing. it's FAR from perfect. but it works to just try out a technique #my animation

soooo i've been real busy this past month and change working on this monster of a painting! it was originally for the GO Ref library study club but clearly took much longer than i anticipated😅

for those of you who don't recognize it, this is based on one of my favorite historical paintings, Judith Beheading Holofernes (1620) by Artemisia Gentileschi. i love the Baroque period and this painting (as well as her other works) makes me insane. here it is Good Omens style so maybe all of you can be insane with me <3

#a doodley #i like these posca pencils and their colors and usually i dont need a ton of colors! but the value variation is not there for purples #like theres a light mid and dark green and light and mid blues but only the purple pictured (lilac) and then a pinker purple in the same #value range....ykwim #and pressing harder only does so much with oil based #i dont use purple much so ill deal with it and i dont draw enough to warrant buying more but! disappointing there #like what if i wanted to fully color thistle and needed a deeper purple...#i know (and enjoy) layering colors but dont think i cld do so with the ones provided
