I am kind of confused by people who think Will’s bowl cut is exceptionally dorky, especially pre-S4. It’s not stylish and it’s obviously done at home, but it’s well within the norm for a middle school boy of the time. I went to middle school from 2002-2005, and most boys had bowl cuts, buzz cuts, or brutally short hair—basically, whatever was cheap and low-maintenance. Even in my high school, some boys still had a bowl cut, and while they were the nerdier boys, their hair wasn’t seen as remarkable. And the variation Will has in S4 just comes across to me as very clean-cut and kind of square, not even quite dorky. There was a boy who looked a lot like him in my freshman year, and at least two girls liked him.

I'm sorry, but I can't ignore the fact that FLORIDAS solution to this issue, is to aquire some unholy aqua-glock and shoot the damn things. Sometimes I feel that maybe we make fun of florida too much....but no....ITS JUST LIKE THAT.

hold up im reading more about the lionfish thing and this one island in Honduras has had such a huge problem with lionfish that the measures they have taken include

• getting special exemption from the Honduran government to allow divers access to harpoons and spears which are otherwise illegal in fishing

• public campaign to teach people how to prepare and eat lionfish (apparently they are very tasty once the poisonous spines are removed) (but watch out)

• holding lionfish combination hunting competition and cookout (reportedly they killed and cooked 1,700 in a day) (someone killed 60 of them with a rubber band spear gun???)

• most recently and apparently out of desperation, the divers in charge of culling the lionfish in the Roatan Marine Park just started. feeding the lionfish they killed to sharks. bc what else are you gonna do with it

• the sharks don’t seem to notice or be affected by the poison and begin hanging out with the divers

• the sharks then were seen hunting and killing the lionfish on their own

like this is nuts to me sorry. the sharks just had to be shown “hey this is food, did you know?? you can eat these!! here try one!!” we are possibly altering an entire foodchain bc we like feeding the big ocean wolves

I hate how people will look at popular indie artists who had one or two songs go viral on TikTok and start making fun of anybody who listens to them. "Oh you listen to Lemon Demon, Will Wood, Jack Stauber, Glass Animals, and Mother Mother? Tsk, don't you know that is stupid TikTok neurodivergent white transmasc preteen music? the steven universe hate is insane bc people are (or at least were) more upset that fictional war criminals got fictional hugs than they recognize that it singlehandedly advanced queer rep in children's media by lightyears and then straight up ate heavy retaliation for the nerve.

It does have real flaws that are worth discussing, but it also put their male protagonist in dresses and skirts and played it straight and even empowering, they aired a lesbian wedding on television, it was a genuinely queer, genuinely diverse piece of media through and through. It did a lot of real good for the real world.

But also the fictional characters caused fictional harm to other fictional characters, and didn't get an onscreen firing squad sentence. So, you know, it's basically ontologically evil in real life.
