also… am I supposed to be SUPPORTING Spock/chapel? Bc I totally would be on board but their entire two seasons of relationship have been them having some sort of fucked up emotional affair while he’s engaged to like the coolest Vulcan lady ever??? And everyone on enterprise is basically encouraging them? HES ENGAGED. I can’t. He’s basically cheating on T’pring by the time she asked for time apart which like girl run bc he keeps lying and breaking her trust AND THEN HE JUST IMMEDIATELY GETS WITH CHAPEL??? LIKE WHAT??? She was just a sad pining woman who mostly carried trays in TOS but SNW??

SHES BISEXUAL! A routine TOS character is canonically queer now! She is brilliant and shadows under people and wants to study strange odd things that she ends up pioneering because she’s brilliant and in a niche!

She has a much more logical and charged back story, she is driven by many things we don’t even know about yet can feel and sense because the writing and acting is amazing! Chapel is so much more now because of SNW and she’s emotionally guarded and fragile and not in a patronizing way, not in a sexist way, in a human, realistic way. And she has friends and she drinks and she studies and laughs and cries and so so much more

Mini Nurse Chapel sketch I drew in the note space of June 14th in my 2023 diary.

Even though I watched “Star Trek TOS - S01E07: What Are Little Girls Made Of?” In June last year, I only drew this over the last week (as usual).

Anyway, it’s one of my favourite episodes, and is (unfortunately) the only one where Nurse Chapel plays a significant part.

I hate drawing in colour, especially skin tones 🥲 but this one didn’t come out too bad (I can get away with it not being 100% accurate because she’s so small 🤫)

I always try to write the episode title in the colours I associate with that particular episode, so I tried to make them similar to Ruk’s colour scheme.
