some more horse guy fashions, specifically historical
erased the mandolin for this one goodbye mandolin i couldn't be bothered drawing you
so my thought process for this is like what would a society of, lbr, british ppl who are horses value and how would that translate into what they wear if they specifically don't have a taboo against nudity. these fashions are pre-florian conversion (florian was the guy who gave them all government-mandated shame) and considered traditional (the full coverage dresses are also traditional but to a post-florian period so those would be called like. idk. classical). they were still in use in the enclaves north of ironwall for quite a while. anyway returning to the point, the answer to 'what they value' is movement. in actual horses, herd hierarchy and social function is based off movement - free movement for animals for whom the flight response is so strong is an incredibly important thing. dominance in horses is expressed and reinforced by controlling and curtailing the movement of subordinates. for these people, free movement was enhanced by kinetic fashion - free-flowing garments like capes, loosely-pinned headgear with feathers and floaty cloth, and noise-generating devices like bells and chimes were all used to elaborate and enhance the appearance of somebody's gait. the overall look was mostly based off of morris dancers (pheasant feathers, bells on the legs, handkerchiefs) because i like the tie-in to suppression of folk dance by puritans. i think these guys would have some great folk dances
in much the same way trainers are just normal everyday footwear now, game kerchiefs/flags were worn in non-sports contexts because it suffused into the mainstream and became Cool. the flags were used in a game similar to tag rugby if you've ever seen that played (where snatching people's flags is used instead of full contact tackling, forcing someone who's been 'tagged' to stand still until the flags are returned). as i said before somewhere, centaur team sports go incredibly hard.
the tail ornaments were status symbols and in appearance a bit like the traditional show turnout of shire horses. woven grass and straw could be used for a temporary ornament like these, but metal or carved wood were really impressive, and very common gifts of favour between romantic partners. more flags could be hung there if you wanted to be really cool
variations of this style of mane décor were also employed (they loved their ribbons)
in the same time period, Ironwall fashion was a little bit different. These expensive caparisons were usually purchased secondhand after a real horse was done wearing them, with distinct front and back halves of different length. The garments would usually have the original liveries removed and replaced by generic religious iconography as few centaurs would ever have their own heraldry. Later, in the Georgian and Victorian eras, full coverage to the pasterns with a single undergarment was the only acceptable option (that's the classical style now) The rest of the picture is self-evident, but centaurs at the time wore additional... equipment on the withers which were called a variety of very colourful names but mostly referred to as gelding bars (as in, they will geld you if you sit on them). they were metal and spiked. these were introduced by the florian government to discourage the grossly inappropriate contact of one person's legs around another. previously there was no great taboo against riding on a centaur's back, it wasn't super common but nobody was like "this is basically public sex" until our pal centaur cromwell i mean florian came along and decided this was the work of the devil. young people were also made to wear these to discourage the homosocial behaviour very common to the mid-20s age groups of both sexes, and they also had a place in preventing stallions from wrestling (ironically increasing the danger of their fights because well now all we can do is stand back and kick). the wearing of these devices was mandatory. headcoverings were not strictly necessary, and neither were fully-wrapped tails, but some especially devout citizens took to it quite well.
#long fucking post. well too bad#in case it wasn't like super obvious. the country ironwall is set in is Basically Just Britain#having a blast with placeholder guy. go king. i think this is actually his time period#his proportions are very different to like pascals or whoever because he's only 13hh#ironwall

If Stranger Things, The Black Phone and Heathers had a love-child and it was a midwest gothic urban fantasy horror mystery story set in a fictional version of North America.
A bunch of teenagers in weird af small town in the middle of the woods find out that there's something intrinsically wrong with the place and its more than just gossipy neighbours, its that the town is cursed by fey demons and the forests haunted by the spirits of teens the Mayor's family killed.
Secrets, rumors, a town of people essentially brainwashed to love the villain and oppose anyone who stands in his/his family's way VS a ragtag team of teenagers who fucked around and found out way too much.
Homey autumn vibes: red, yellow and amber leaves in a pine wood forest, cozy old diners owned by kooky old ladies, afternoons playing shoot em' ups at the local arcade, car rides with the MCs grumpy older brother, listening to music on the roof of the house eating popcorn and studying conspiracy theories, running from trouble as the sun sets in the horizon, cozy hot chocolate mugs, etc.
Tragic ghosts with interesting stories and unique personalities that make you want to give them a hug, and who need one so bad but can't get one because they're immaterial😭
POV: The Slasher Horror movie villain is your town's adored Mayor and his cohorts.
The woods are alive, more than you think - but they're filled with what's left of the dead.

RAAHHH AMERICA (lafayette pt.3)
welcome back to this i guess. i can guarantee you the whole revolution will take several posts because this is by far the longest part of my notes (obviously) soooo there will still be quite a few more of these posts for @thereallvrb0y because i still have Hamilton to do after this! that will be fun im excited. so anyway, if you missed pt. 2, here you go, and lets get right into it
Arrival in America and Becoming a Major General
Lafayette and his posse landed on the shore of North Island off the coast of South Carolina, and they were... lost! They couldn't find anyone, so they rowed further inland to try to find any sign of civilization, and they found enslaved black men fishing for oysters, and they brought them back to the plantation house.
From there, they traveled to Philadelphia. There's a common theme throughout the Frenchmen's accounts: everyone fucking loved Lafayette. Like literally everyone was so happy to see him, but literally hated the other French guys with him, so everyone else was really uncomfortable but Lafayette saw nothing wrong with what was going on.
The reason why the Americans were so hostile to the other Frenchmen was because of Silas Deane. I mentioned in pt. 2 that Deane did not do any research into whether or not Lafayette had qualifications, and he did that with every other French officer he sent over. and he sent. a lot. There was one particular incident where he sent some French engineers that ended up being completely incompetent, and when the public (and Washington's staff) heard about that, they were like "okay, we're done with the French"
But Lafayette was different because, again, he was so fucking rich. Everyone saw him as a symbol of French alliance, and a sign of hope that maybe, with foreign assistance, they could win the war. Of course, they didn't know Lafayette was there illegally, but yk. it was something.
By the way, literally everything went wrong on every journey this group went on. From North Island to Charleston saw several of the party getting sick, losing horses, risk of being mugged, and having to walk BAREFOOT through the woods at one point.
Then, on the 650 mile trip from Charleston to Philadelphia, it got. worse. They started out with 12 officers and servants in open carriages. The carriages broke after four days, they had to leave behind their luggage, and continue on horseback. Over the next 10 days, their horses collapsed, they got sick again, and everything continued to go horribly wrong.
“I started out brilliantly by carriage… we are all on horseback, after having broken the carriage, in my usual laudable fashion, and I hope to write to you in a few days that we have arrived on foot.” -Lafayette to Adrienne
The trip began on June 26, 1777, and they arrived in Philadelphia on July 27. The principal driving force for them to not give up and turn back was how enthusiastic, optimistic, and determined Lafayette was. The entire time they were literally passing out from exhaustion and exposure, Lafayette was having a grand ole time. He wasn't immune to all the horrible shit they were experiencing, he just acted like he was. He was just. so happy to be there.
So, they arrived in Philadelphia, the current seat of the Continental Congress. And they thought "oh, okay, we'll just go to the president, show him our papers, and we'll be given a command! right?"
Wrong.
They arrived at John Hancock's house, but he was like "what the fuck are these homeless french dudes doing at my house dressed in rags, get them out and take them to Robert Morris" (bc they had to get rid of their luggage and it was the summer they were kinda wearing the least amount as possible and were covered in filth)
Also btw the reason Hancock referred them to Morris was bc Morris was a member of the Committee of Congress for Secret Correspondence, and so he handled Deane's illegal bullshit, one of which was Lafayette being there
So, the French Gang (tm) went to Independence Hall to meet Morris, but didn't even get inside (James Lovell was also there because he spoke French). Lovell explained what happened with the engineers, basically telling them "yeah sooo we don't really trust French people anymore whoops"
The French Gang was like "what ze fuck" and they were like "okay goodnight!" so they went back to their accommodations, but the next day Lovell and WILLIAM FUCKING DUER showed up and were like "uhhhh hey guys so we actually made a mistake, but if you're willing to negotiate, Mr. Marquis de Lafayette, you could be a major general!" And Lafayette didn't question the sudden change, and went into negotiations.
By the way, the reason they changed their minds overnight was PROBABLY because Benjamin Franklin's letter of recommendation had arrived telling them "that Lafayette guy is RICH. AS. FUCK. do whatever he wants that you realistically can because he is literally so rich, you want this guy to like you." They literally just wanted an in with Versailles.
Alsooo this really only benefitted Lafayette, like Congress didn't make any offers to Lafayette's comrades, so most of them went back to France. so. that kinda sucks.
George Washington and His Staff
General George Washington was um. in a rough spot. Stationed in Chester, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia, he had a lot on his hand, namely worrying about whether or not the British were going to try to attack the seat of Congress. This is the pre-Laurens era for the aides de camp, so we got Alexander Hamilton, Tench Tilghman, Richard Kidder Meade, Robert Hanson Harrison, John Fitzgerald, Joseph Reed, Caleb Gibbs, and another guy that was so sick I can't even remember his name, for Washington's staff.
One big issue being faced by Washington's staff was the issue of French officers.
"We are already greatly embarrassed with the Frenchmen among us... It were to be wished that our agents in France, instead of courting them to come out, were instructed to give no encouragement but where they could not help it... Be assured, Sir, we shall never be able to satisfy them [The French]; and they can be of no use to us, at least for sometime. Their ignorance of our language, of the disposition of the people, the resources and difficiencies (sic) of the country, their own habits and tempers—all these are disqualifications that put it out of their power to be of any real use or service to us." -Alexander Hamilton to William Duer, May 6, 1777
These sentiments were shared by General Washington. I mean, Washington's staff had dealt with the French engineers problem, and so they definitely were under the impression that all the French guys being sent over from Deane's office were just underqualified noblemen who thought they were better than everyone else. They definitely thought this about Lafayette at first.
On the complete other extreme, Lafayette was amazed by Washington the first time they met at City Tavern in Philadelphia on July 31. He thought he was absolutely incredible and an amazing leader. Pretty soon, Lafayette integrated himself in Washington's office, which was actually on par with orders from Franklin who basically told Washington "this guy CANNOT die because he will be FINANCIALLY FUCKED if he does", so they put him in the safest possible place in the army.
And that lasted about a month, until the Battle of Brandywine in September 1777.
Active Military Service
Prior to Brandywine, British General Howe had somehow disappeared, until he arrived at the Head of Elk, Maryland in late July with 17,000 British and Hessian troops under his belt, making their way northeast towards Philadelphia.
Blocking the British troops from reaching Philadelphia, 10,500 Americans were positioned along Brandywine Creek, knowing the British would likely cross at Chadds Ford. For his protection, Lafayette was positioned at the rear with General Sullivan's division, which, they thought, would see the least amount of action.
The battle began by late morning, and it was very foggy out, which was always a recipe for disaster. Contrary to their expectations, they ended up facing only half the British troops at Chadds Ford, while Howe lead a second column further north, attacking the Americans at the rear, where Sullivan was stationed.
Everything quickly devolved into chaos as the Americans were taken by surprise, and couldn't really see clearly because of the fog. Lafayette was trying to rally the confused troops before he was shot in the left calf with a musketball. He attempted to continue fighting, but an unidentified aide forced him off the field.
This was literally the best possible thing for Lafayette's PR. Everyone was so pleasantly surprised by the fact that a French nobleman had taken a bullet for the American cause, and it would be key to Lafayette getting his own command (finally).
Lafayette was put in a small Philadelphia town called Bethlehem to recover from his wounds. He spent a lot of his time learning about the local religious sect, the Moravians. This is the first instance I can find of Lafayette's interest in anthropology. (btw they almost convinced him to join this religion and im like. not convinced that this isn't a cult. keep that in mind, lafayette almost joined a possible cult).
He also spent his time writing letters to French relatives and officials, advocating for the American cause. While he wasn't successful necessarily in the specific endeavors he was attempting, but this established himself as an intermediary between France and America! which is super cool!
Lafayette would rejoin Washington's troops on October 9, and would soon be named the commander of his own division on December 1, right before the Continental Army would go into winter encampment at Valley Forge *epic clifffhanger sound effect*

Branson Golf Thriving; Recognized as 2022 Leading North American Destination
Sustained Momentum Forecast for 2023, More Enhancements Set to Debut
Branson Golf – home to 10 extremely diverse yet highly complementary courses in the Southwest Missouri Ozarks – had an exceptional 2022 season that included increased visitors, additional best-of honors, and pervasive media coverage extoling the destination’s must-visit status.
The flourishing golf travel venue now claims five of Missouri’s top-10 rated courses (and three ranked among the top 100 nationally), and five courses hold Audubon International Signature Sanctuary certification for their sustainability and environmental best practices.
Virtually each course in the destination experienced upticks in key metrics, underscoring the increased number of players who are coming to play here.
At LedgeStone Country Club (Tim Clark design), for example, 2022 was the best year for rounds and revenue in the 29 years the course has been operating.
Branson Hills Golf Club (Chuck Smith and Bobby Clampett) realized a significant increase in membership and merchandise sales, and the golf course was in better shape than ever with faster green speeds and improved rough in high-traffic areas. The club recently installed all new wood flooring in the clubhouse, adding a revitalized look to the upscale club.
Area players and golf travelers are choosing Branson Golf for many reasons, not the least of which are the five courses under the Big Cedar Golf mantle – Payne’s Valley (Tiger Woods and Johnny Morris), Ozarks National (Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw), Buffalo Ridge (Tom Fazio and Morris), Top of the Rock (Jack Nicklaus), and Mountain Top (Gary Player).
Big Cedar added a caddie program in 2022, as well as a half-way house at Payne’s Valley and a tee-side bar at the bonus 19th hole there. This winter Payne’s Valley, Buffalo Ridge and Top of the Rock remain open (weather permitting). Ozarks National and Mountain Top are closed from now until Friday, March 10.
The courses at Thousand Hills (Bob Cupp), The Pointe, and Holiday Hills continue to be player favorites and some of the most popular, particularly for local and regional golfers.
“We’ve entered a new era with our golf destination and once people come here to experience it, they keep coming back due to the high quality of the courses and our after-golf activities,” said Lynn Berry, Explore Branson, Director of Communications. “We look forward to welcoming new visitors in 2023.”
The blossoming golf haven is made more captivating thanks to the destination’s plethora of complementary other attractions. Three superb lakes offer boating and water sports. Astounding museums – Titanic Branson and Ancient Ozarks Natural History – showcase displays not found anywhere else. Also beckoning are hundreds of restaurants and lodging establishments, dozens of live entertainment theatres, an array of outdoor adventure options, and Silver Dollar City (award-winning theme park).
Most of Branson’s courses are open year-round. Call to confirm playing availability via the phone numbers below. For those considering booking stay-and-play packages for 2023, reach out sooner than later as the tee times are filling fast and ahead of time due to the popularity of the golf destination. What Kamala Harris Posted Shows She Doesn't Care About Hurricane Helene Victims
There is no way the vice president’s team posted this on social media. They cannot be this stupid, can they? Well, it appears that you learn something new every day from this circus. Hurricane Helene dumped more than 40 trillion gallons of rain as she made landfall, creating a swath of destruction across the southern United States. It’s one of the deadliest storms to ever hit the country, claiming at least 200 lives with hundreds more still missing.
The response has been slow. Countless hurricane victims are without electricity or water access, an issue expected to last weeks. Kamala announced that $750 checks will be issued to these people who’ve lost everything. This insulting offer comes on the heels of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s announcement that they don’t have enough funds for hurricane season because they siphoned off cash to help illegal aliens.
With Israeli airstrikes rolling through Beirut, the Biden-Harris administration announced that $157 million will be allocated for humanitarian assistance. What about here, guys? Here’s what Kamala posted:
— Vice President Kamala Harris (@VP) October 5, 2024
The people of Lebanon are facing an increasingly dire humanitarian situation. I am concerned about the security and well-being of civilians suffering in Lebanon and will continue working to help meet the needs of all civilians there. To that end, the United States will provide nearly $157 million in additional assistance to the people of Lebanon for essential needs such as food, shelter, water, protection, and sanitation to help those who have been displaced by the recent conflict. This additional support brings total U.S. assistance to Lebanon over the last year to over $385 million.
“The people of Lebanon are facing an increasingly dire humanitarian situation.” Just unbelievably tone-deaf.
To be clear - Kamala Harris' campaign-suicidal post this evening focusing on LEBANON while major disaster rescues and recovery are underway is an admission she is losing Michigan right now. pic.twitter.com/9khg6N7yf5— Eric Daugherty (@EricLDaugh) October 6, 2024
Kamala Harris has failed the test. https://t.co/rtfbdDNqVZ— RBe (@RBPundit) October 6, 2024
— Libs of TikTok (@libsoftiktok) October 6, 2024
Why does western NC get $100M and Lebanon gets $350M? https://t.co/1EIJLukQ9w— Emma-Jo Morris (@EmmaJoNYC) October 6, 2024
This has to be fake. Even Kamala Harris, the gold standard of stupid, isn’t stupid enough to post this. Certainly not while North Carolinians are pulling the bodies of their neighbors from the wreckage. It’s simply inconceivable. https://t.co/3RWcFtGqmG— James Woods (@RealJamesWoods) October 6, 2024
Put this on a billboard in every swing state. https://t.co/OtHPtlJej0— Stephen L. Miller (@redsteeze) October 6, 2024
Did Biden sneak into her office and send this? https://t.co/acNenL7EcW— Scott Jennings (@ScottJenningsKY) October 6, 2024
Once again, Harris highlights how she’s incapable of being president. She lacks intelligence, has no grasp of the issues, and flat-out doesn’t care about Americans who don’t side with her.

"Police Expect To Bring Slayer of Bank Manager Arnold To Bay By Night," Winnipeg Tribune. December 4, 1913. Page 1 & 13. --- Both Bandits Who Disappeared in the Woods Near Morris After Firing Shot at Driver of Car Are Expected to Be Rounded Up Before They Can Make Their Escape Across the International Boundary Line, in Which Direction Some Reports Say They Are Heading ---- By nightfall the capture of the men who held up the Bank of Montreal at Plum Coulee, stole $4,000, and shot the manager dead, is expected. A cordon of police is drawn round the district in which Plum Coulee, Morris, Morden and Gretna are situated. Twenty provincial constables, assisted by local police, are scouring the country, gradually drawing their line tighter upon the area in which the bandits are thought to be in hiding.
At first it was thought that the robbers headed due south from Plum Coulee to the international boundary, but it is now known that they worked up in a north-easterly direction, abandoning the automobile near Morris. From there their course is not known, some believing that they went west to Lowe farm, and others reporting their presence to the east in the neighborhood of St. Elizabeth.
No information regarding the bank robbery and murder was received by the provincial police in Winnipeg until a late hour last night, according to statements of officials of the department this morning. Provincial constables Radley and Coulthard, who were working in the district at the time, were out in the country, and could not be communicated with for some hours.
Entire Provincial Force on Case The entire provincial force has been drafted into the Morris district to run down the fugitives. Provincial constables Chris Hanson, Pete Beauchamp, Laughlin and John Parr, stationed in Winnipeg, took the trail last night. Each constable of the twenty engaged in the man-hunt is acting independently within a certain area, with the co-operation of the residents of the district. By means of the rural telephone lines that gridiron this part of the province each man keeps in constant touch over the long distance telephone with police headquarters in Winnipeg, advising Chief Elliott at intervals of his movements, and reporting any circumstances which might provide a clue to the whereabouts of the robbers. In this way it is possible for each constable to know where each other member of the force is working.
Plum Coulee Awaits Apprehension Plum Coulee, Man., Dec. 4. - Residents of this town are anxiously a waiting news of the apprehension of the two bank robbers, one of whom shot Manager H. M. Arnold, of the local branch of the Bank of Montreal, to death at one o'clock yesterday afternoon and with his partner escaped in an automobile driven by William Dyck, the local liveryman. It is believed that the bandits will be brought to bay some time today in the vicinity of Morris, Man. It was about three miles east of this point that Dyck left them after rushing them out of town in his high power car, having been forced to do so by the robbers holding two automatic revolvers over him. Until the return and arrest of Dyck last night it was believed that but one man was implicated in the robbery and murder, but he asserts that there were two. One of these men, and the one who engaged the automobile, is alleged to tally with the description of an ex-convict and Dyck is said to have declared that a description of the ex-convict tallied with that of the man who engaged him. The ex-convict is a former resident of the locality and is claimed to have been seen on several occasions in the past few days in the town. On October 18th he is known to have stayed at one of the local hotels and he was here again on Nov. 6th and recognized. It is stated positively by parties who know him that he was seen by them on the street yesterday. but that he was disguised.
No Witnesses to Tragedy. There was no witness of the tragedy enacted within the walls of the bank. Manager Arnold was alone at the time, the remainder of the staff having gone to lunch. School children saw an excited man rush from the bank entrance and jump into an automobile, which was in a convenient place, so as to enable the robber to make a clean break for liberty before the noise of the shot had brought curious persons to the vicinity of the bank or before the young clerk had returned.
The body of Arnold was found by his assistant on the latter's return from lunch, the children having failed to give the alarm, and the bandit had therefore plenty of time to get out into the country before anyone was aware of the extent of the crime. The manager had been shot through the head, and a doctor who made an examination said that death must have been instantaneous. From the position of the body in the lane, the police believe that the bandit dropped some money, and on returning back to pick it up he saw Mr. Arnold following in hot pursuit, and it was then the fatal shot was fired.
It is likely that the manager was caught at a disadvantage behind the counter, and was forced to hold up his hands while the desperado grabbed what money was within easy reach. The safe was wide open for business. Little precautions were ever taken in the bank, as the usual quiet conditions existing in he town precluded the idea of robbery. The bank had an unusually large supply of ready money on hand owing to the number of grain transactions in progress. The whole town of Plum Coulee is terribly upset over the affair, for the bank manager had endeared himself to the hearts of the people. Within an hour all of southern Manitoba had been apprised of the affair, and the greatest excitement and indignation was everywhere shown.
Automobilists and motorcyclists scoured the country all afternoon without seeing anything of the motor car, and it was not until 8 o'clock last night that William Dyck, driver of the automobile, returned and told the story of his experiences to the police.
Says There Were Two. William Dyck returned alone about S o'clock and was immediately taken in charge by the provincial police. Very little of the details of the affair can be got from the police and Dyck will say nothing to outsiders.
Dyck stated that there were two men implicated in the affair. One man was about 27 years of age, of fair complexion, clean shaven, weight about 150 pounds, was five feet ten inches high, thin faced, was a Canadian, and wore a black overcoat, black hat or cap and appeared to be the youngest of the two men. The other man was of dark complexion, would weigh about the same as the first or a little less, was about five feet seven inches in height, wore a black fur lined over- coat, black cap, tan boots and black mock scarf. Dyck was certain this man had on a false mustache and beard, as a part of the latter had fallen out when he got into the automobile.
Dyck Describes Man. Dyck stated that the first described man had come to him and hired the livery this morning, saying that an elderly man who wanted to go about three miles out in the country would call for it about 1 o'clock and he was told to be sure and have everything ready about that time. Dyck also stated that two travellers came along about he time he had the machine working and wanted to hire it to go to Morden, but he had explained that the auto was hired. Later a man answering to the description given him by the fair man in the morning approached, jumped into the car and told him to hurry and get out of town. Dyck soon started the car and drove off, but before leaving the village he was ordered to stop and the man who had approached him in the morning got in the car with some bags.
Dyck was then or ordered under threat of death to go as fast as he could s and that a couple of holes had been shot through the roof of his car to show how earnest the men were. Dyck stated that he had driven east to the main road, then a mile south and then five miles east. From there they went north and down through the Lowe Farm district, when first one robber got out and then the other. The last one had put his carbureter out of order and it had kept him a long while fixing it. He said that the men had two automatic revolvers and he knew the dark one had on a false beard because it had fallen off when he first got in the car.
Looked Like Krafchenko. Dyck would not admit whether or not he knew the men, but thought the darkest one might tally with that of John Krafchenko. Dyck left the men 26 miles from here. He will be taken back to that point tonight by provincial policemen, Walte, of Morris, and Loewen, of Gretna, who will go by by way of Morris and take a couple of detectives along with them.
About $400 of the stolen money was located in the car on Dyck's return, the greater part of this amount being silver. The cash taken will be about $4,500.
The man hunt is being prosecuted vigilantly in the vicinity of Morris. where Dyck left the bandits. Provincial Constables Pete Beauchamp and Chris Hansen, of Winnipeg: John Waite, of Morris; Pete Loewen, of Gretna, and Tom Bestwick clerk in the central police station at Winnipeg who was on his vacation at Morris when the news of the murder was re- ceived, are out with guns scouring the country near there. It is understood that constables will be started back on the road from Winnipeg to meet the men.
Krancfenk's Record If John Krancfenko is the man they are looking for he will probably be caught shortly, as he is well known to the Winnipeg authorities. He resided in St. Boniface. He received three years after being arrested in 1908 for robbing the Bank of Hamilton here. He was convicted at that time, although it was two years after the crime had been committed. After serving his time he disappeared, but was seen again this summer in Winnipeg, and it is understood that he is the man who was hired as a stool to work with and get evidence against the safe blowers who operated in Winnipeg this fall. He double-crossed the police at that time and was not seen until he was arrested near Transcona in the house run by Flo Williams on a charge of robbery, which could not be substantiated. It is thought that without a doubt the man made towards Winnipeg.
East of Morris Dyck is under surveillance and the police refuse to allow anyone to see him, but it is understood that he said he took the men three miles east of Morris. The bandits will then probably follow the road to the east side of the Red river towards Winnipeg. Who the second bandit is is not known and only a meagre description of him has been secured by the police. Krancfenko, suspected in connection with the tragedy, has a record as a criminal in Western Canada. At Plum Coulee about ten years ago he held up a number of land buyers at the point of a revolver and secured the sum of $2.800 from them. He escaped and the police failed to locate him until 1908, when he was arrested by the provincial police in Winnipeg. His trial followed and he was convicted and sentenced to three years in the penitentiary at Stony Mountain.
At the Hicks murder trial in 1906 Kranefenko was the principal witness for the defence. Krancfenko has also a record in a number of western towns for criminal offences of a minor character. He is well known in Winnipeg and is said to have a brother-in-law living near Plum Coulee. The citizens here object to the unenviable notoriety the town is getting as one of the most dangerous In southern Manitoba.
Many Acts of Violence The people of Plum Coulee are be- coming terrorized at the frequency with which acts of violence and lawlessness occur and point to other cases in recent years that have happened in which the attorney-general's department has shown striking apathy, and hope that no effort will be spared to bring this latest crime to justice. A few years ago a man was clubbed to death here, and the murderer, who was a desperado from across the line, got clear away and was never captured. Two years ago a bank was broken into and $3,700 in bills, with quantity of notes were stolen. The notes not being negotiable were brought to the door of the bank the next night and left there. Over a year later the thief went to Winnipeg and gave himself up.
Not That Much Cash Montreal, Dec. 3. The staff department at the head office of the Bank of Montreal here was advised of the robbery and murder at Plum Coulee this afternoon. Officials were inclined to deprecate the report that the amount stolen would total $10,000, stating that Plum Coulee is a small branch and that the amount of cash usually deposited there would not total over half of the amount reported stolen.
Watching the Boundary Neche, N.D., Dec. 3. The Plum Coulee bank bandit headed for the international boundary and officers on this side of the line have been notified and every attempt will be made to apprehend tre murderer. An automobile answering the description of the one in which the robber made his getaway was seen seven miles east of Neche traveling at a terrific rate. Hundreds of men are on the lookout for the bandit and all officials on this side are making strenuous efforts to effect his capture.
Brandon Saddene By News of Death Brandon, Man.. Dec. 3. - The news of the tragic death of H. M. Arnold, sub- agent of the Bank of Montreal at Plain Coulee came as a great shock to his many friends in Brandon. Though the news was known to a few early in the afternoon, it was not until the local papers were on the streets that the tragedy became generally known.
Born in Sussex, New Brunswick, he came to the new Brandon branch of the Bank of Montreal ten years ago last March. During the eight years he was in the city he was a prominent Anglican and was an active member of St. Matthew's congregation. When the parish of St. Mary's was organized he moved to the east end of the city and was warden of the latter church for some years. About six years ago he married his first wife, Miss Webster, daughter of the collector of customs at Belleville, Ont. After two years of married life he lost his wife and did not wed again till a year ago, when he married Miss Grace Todd, of this city. Though not exactly a sporting man, he always was ready to play for his bank in any game that was gotten up against other teams.
A son of Major Arnold, of Sussex, N.B., he was closely related to en. Williams, of Kars fame. Besides his father and mother and one sister in Sussex, he leaves a brother, also a banker, to survive him. He joined the Bank of Montreal, in Hamilton, afterwards being stationed at Picton, Ont., St. Johns, Newfoundland, and St. John. N.B., he was closely related to Gen. Coulee in May, 1912.
Former Bank Robberies Recalled By the Plum Coulee Affair "I well remember the first big bank robbery in this country," said an old-timer today.
"It took place over twenty years ago and the place was the old Union bank, then located on Main Street east, between Lombard street and Portage avenue east. The robbery of the Union was the work of a young bank clerk named Cameron, now dead. he was a pleasant-faced young fellow, the last man that an employer would suspect of wrong-doing. His position, I think, was that of teller, so he was pretty familiar with the cash and how to get at it most easily.
"Winnipeg was a much smaller town in those days, and you can well imagine the sensation when the story quickly passed from one end of the city to the other that 'Billy Cameron had got away with $40,000. In those days George Webb kept a livery stable on Portage avenue east. Cameron hired a rig from Webb, the latter little suspecting his purpose, and shortly after midnight started on his mad drive to the boundary line. He made straight for Pembina, N.D., and landed there on record time, only to be nabbed by the American police and lodged in jail. He retained as counsel a Pembina lawyer named Kneeshaw, who after- wards became a judge of the district.
"Mystery was added to the robbery when it was found that Cameron had on his person not more than $500, mostly in gold. Without further evidence, Cameron was only a suspect. To the surprise of many he assumed an attitude of indifference, ate and slept as a man with a clear conscience and chatted freely with acquaintances and officials who hastily arrived at Pembina after his arrest.
"An old-time friend finally prevailed on Cameron to make a clean-breast of the whole affair. He confessed to the robbery, told of the whereabouts of the balance of the $40,000, and was released. He knocked about Pembina for a few days, then moved on to Minneapolis, and in after years he was In the habit of greeting Winnipeg visitors as though nothing had happened.
"Chief McRae, Judge Richard, then solicitor for the bank. Mr. Balfour, then manager of the bank, and others on the trail of the robber returned to Winnipeg from Pembina by special train and after some difficulty located the money stacked in a large valise and placed in a hotel for safe-keeping. On the day that the chief and the officials arrived it was said that a party left Pembina with a team and rig. making record time been the American town and this city. Upon their arrival, the money was in the hands of the authorities, so that if the Pembina men had any intention of fighting for possession they were doomed to disappointment.
"It was an anxious time for the bank officials and the police authorities. It was the old story so far as Cameron was concerned, evil companions, midnight hours. wine suppers. etc.
"This bank robbery story, recalled by the robbery at Plum Coulee sands out in marked contrast. At Plum Coulee a trusted official, to himself and his superiors, sacrificed him life in an effort to defend the property of his employers. In the case of Cameron there was gross betrayal of trust.
"There was another big bank robbery in Winnipeg a few years ago. The money was recovered hidden in the woods in what is now the Elmwood district. The amount stolen was about $35.000."
NOT SURE YET THAT REWARD WILL BE OFFERED FOR CAPTURE Deputy Attorney-General Allen stated today that although his department was greatly concerned with the tragedy at Plum Coulee he was not yet in a position to state whether or not a reward would be offered by the provincial government for the apprehension of the murderer.
Wm. Dyck Taken to Spot Where Robbers Took to the Woods Morris, Man., Dec. 4. - (Special.) - William Dyck, the liveryman, who threatened with loaded revolvers, drove the powerful Case car in which the bandits made their escape yesterday, after robbing the Bank of Montreal of $4,000, and shooting dead Manager H. M. Arnold, was brought here this morning by provincial constables and taken to the spot where he states that the robbers took to the bush.

You can't come into my inbox with tiefling Robbie and expect any other result truly 😌
(For the record I went with the Exandria setting bc a) I'm more familiar due to untold hours of CR stored at the back of my brain and b) I like the pantheon better. For further record, keet doesn't give herself enough credit all of the words below are inspired by her brilliant artwork ✨✨✨)
“Robbie?” Gabe gathers the blanket tighter around his shoulders. The nights aren’t too cold yet and he’s close enough to the fire – Robbie drew a ring in the dirt around the pit so he would know where to sit safely – but he’s been reluctant to let go of it, and Robbie is starting to think maybe the blanket isn’t just for warmth.
When he doesn’t continue with another question, Robbie looks up from the map. Gabe is staring off in the direction of the road, where they came from. His eyes are a little shiny. Something knots deep in Robbie’s chest.
“Yeah?” he prompts, scooting to sit closer to his brother. “What’s up?”
He knows what’s up. Gabe has been quiet and withdrawn since they passed the last person he could wave goodbye to on their way out of the village. He would perk up every time they came across signs of other travellers, or saw a caravan coming down the road, and every time Robbie had to tell him to hide until they passed his face fell a little bit further.
Gabe chews on his lip for a long while before he finally asks: “Is it too late to go back?”
Robbie realises he’s gripping the edges of the map too hard, wrinkling under his fingers. It takes more effort than he would like to relax, to force his hands to ease rather than rip the parchment in two. He can feel his tail twitch – he sits on it to keep it from moving on its own, but the instinct to straighten it out is almost too much to bear. He has to keep a hold of himself; he can’t run into the woods and take his frustrations out on a tree until his knuckles bleed, he can’t leave Gabe alone in their makeshift camp, he has to be calm and patient and–
“It’s only three more days to Port Zoon,” he says instead. His voice is too thick and Gabe curls further into himself. “Gabe, we sold the house. There is nowhere to go back to.”
“We could tell Mrs Morrie we changed our minds. We could–“
Mrs Morrie used to watch Gabe for Robbie after mom first left. She kept up the charade that Juliana would come back any week now far longer than Robbie could have managed on his own, but then his horns started coming in and she was pregnant again, and of course nobody believes that tieflings bring bad luck anymore, but why risk it? That was the theme of Robbie’s life for the last few years. First the father disappeared, then the mother, the youngest was born infirm and now the oldest turns out to have demon-blood; maybe they are cursed. They don’t have roots in Hill Rock, maybe they don’t belong here at all.
It wasn’t so bad, at first. It took ages to get used to the tail, and he couldn’t see at all for a week while his eyes clouded black and his irises went from green to brown to yellow, but there were advantages – he could see in the dark and work well after dusk, and his heat tolerance increased enough that he could start helping at the forge next to the cartwright’s he apprenticed at. People didn’t have to like him as long as they needed his help – and were willing to pay for it. The Dawn Father priest eyed him warily whenever he brought Gabe in for healing, but wouldn’t turn down coin.
But then the empires up north stopped warring with each other, and many of the folk who left to join armies or mercenary bands came back. Suddenly, there were enough sons and daughters in Hill Rock who needed something to do that Robbie was turned away from jobs he had been doing for years, that he was good at. Suddenly, the chapel had enough war injuries to deal with that the greater restoration became far more expensive, and the priest wouldn’t commit to it unless Gabe was already unable to walk without assistance. Suddenly, people who remembered Juliana’s boys running around their ankles found themselves looking at a tiefling carrying on his back a sleeping kid with thin legs, and assumed the worst.
That’s why Robbie decided to sell the house, before someone remembered it belonged to their great-grandfather and took it anyway. Why he spent most of the meagre price he got for it to convince the cartwright to write him a letter of recommendation, even though he didn’t formally finish the apprenticeship. Why they hid rather than meet other people on the road.
“I’m sorry, buddy,” he sighs, blinking back fog from the edges of his vision. “I know it’s hard. But Port Zoon has a chantry to Dawn Father. I bet the clerics there are way better than old Merryn.” And Robbie has enough saved up to pay for a month of schooling for him there. Long enough to find a job, and Port Zoom is famous for its industry – surely, they need anyone they can get, even with vague qualifications. Surely, there are other tieflings in a big city, working all kinds of jobs. “It’s only a few more days.”
Gabe hasn’t needed to ride on the little pull-cart Robbie made just in case, but he’s been tiring faster every day. Since his last growth spurt, his condition has been worsening at a faster rate. He will need another greater restoration before harvest time. Robbie hopes to get into the city just before nightfall, to avoid concerned citizens trying to arrest him for kidnapping a child.
Gabe scoots closer to press his head into Robbie’s shoulder. With his face hidden like that, he asks in a small voice: “What if mum comes back, and we aren’t there?”
Well, Robbie thinks. That would show her. But out loud, he says:
“Then Mrs Morrie can tell her we went to Port Zoon. She can write us a letter.”
Gabe doesn’t say anything else. Soon enough, his breath evens out and he falls asleep, exhausted from the road. Robbie stares at the covered fire for a little while longer. Three more days. He can rest properly after they’ve settled. Just three more days.
Alrighty my dudes buckle up
GHOST RIDER D&D AU
also WOE. ART STYLE CHANGE BE UPON YE.
First things first thank you to my beloved mutual @moosemonstrous, who was basically the brains behind the operation I basically just wanted an excuse to draw tiefling Robbie and then got smacked in the face with an awesome story way beyond what I had ever thought of with KILLER fucking lore to match <3.
While I usually like to start with Robbie when introducing an AU, we're going to unfortunately have to start with Eli. A man who fucked up so monumentally that the kinda sorta god he's supposed to be serving went 'Bitch??? How about NO.' and humbled him faster than my DM can say 'roll perception'.
Ok I'm getting ahead of myself. Eli is pretty much the same personality wise as he is in canon. Insecure and desperate for power/control. He grew up surviving with Beto by doing jobs for the Myriad crime syndicate. Somewhere along the way he started serving his patron, Desirat, the twilight phoenix, in exchange for her power.
Im just going to directly quote what moose said about Desirat cause its phrased WONDERFULLY:
"Desirat, The Twilight Phoenix - companion and mount of Asmodeus during an ancient war, was torn from her master and captured by uppity mages. They were eventually killed, but she remained chained under a mountain, creating weird thermal phenomena in the area. Her sanity fractured in isolation so she thinks herself divine, and she lends through dreams and visions to those who 'carry a seed of fiery vengeance'. She now speaks to the minds of those who lie spurned and angry at night, calling them to unlock their inner flame and let Desirat aid them in their vengeance."
Desirat chose Eli as her champion to free her. She believed his faults would make him easy to manipulate for her purposes.
But eventually Beto wanted to settle down, and Eli refused to (to quote moose) 'Stop that warlock bullshit that EVERYONE SAID will get him in trouble'. And the brothers separate. During that time, Eli gets it in his head that he can steal more power from her by becoming a Litch. Great! In order to become a Litch he needs to have the most important person to him engage in a willing life sacrifice. Not great.
So he finds Beto and tries to get him to oblige to his sacrifice, and while there might have been a time where Beto might have laid down his life for his brother, he wont anymore. He has a family now. People who rely on him who AREN'T Eli. Unfortunatly, Eli is PISSED by this and kills Beto even though he isn't a willing sacrifice. Eli figures 'Whose really gonna care? A life is a life right?'
DESIRAT cares. She basically obliterates Eli on the spot and stores his lifeforce for later purposes.
(all stat sheets curtosy of the great Moose. Also I feel obligated to mention there was a scary moment during the art process where Eli looked like a beautiful butch lesbian. Horrifying.)
After Eli's spiritual, physical, and magical bitch slap, Desirat starts looking down his bloodline for a NEW champion. Lucky her, Robbie is RIGHT THERE. Protective of his brother, a strong sense of justice even from a young age, a hatred of when things aren't fair; he's PERFECT. She has plans for this one. Eli was a good test run. But she has IMPROVEMENTS planned for Robbie.
So Desirat waits until Robbie is old enough and strong enough to serve her purposes. In that time, Julianna goes out adventuring to get more coin so she can pay for Gabe's treatments of Greater Restoration and just. General food and water and general supplies. But she doesn't come back. She was responsible though and hired someone who was willing to take what she could offer to take care of the boys. Gabe still believes that she's still out there and trying to come back to them. Robbie thinks she's either bailed on them for a life of adventure or dead.
Around when Robbie turns 18, Desirat puts her plans into effect. Seeing as tieflings carry innate magical abilities (most commonly thaumaturgy, hellish rebuke, and darkness) it would be far more advantageous for her champion to be a tiefling than human. In the span of about 4 months, Robbie goes through a rather drastic transformation.
His fingernails harden, then blacken, then sharpen. Awful pressure builds in his skull that is only relived when the beginnings of horns break through his skin. A similar process begins with a lump forming at his tail bone and eventually bursting out into a long pointed tail. His canine teeth fall out and grow back in sharper and longer. His eyes cloud over to black and yellow, all the while his skin reddens and forms hard ridges on his arms, ribs and spine.
To say this is disorienting and painful is an understatement. Not to mention how it changes how the other people around the village look at him (not to mention how it changes how he looks at himself). Even though the stigma around tieflings isn't as strong as it once was, it eventually causes Robbie to be out of a job. So he decides to sell the house, pack up his things, prepare schooling money for his brother and move to the city where more opportunities will hopefully await.
GABE!!! THE LITTLE ADHGH. Idk why but I got extreme cute aggression when drawing this version of him fdjkslaf.
Gabe still has CP like he does in canon, but with the magical advantages of ✨Greater Restoration✨ he can generally function pretty well. He still gets tired sometimes though, so he carries around a walking staff as an aid just in case he needs one (also he can go whack whack. at least thats what Robbie tells him when he gets a little self conscious carrying it around).
Robbie has saved up enough money for Gabe to get a months worth of schooling at the Dawn Father Chantry in the city so he can learn to cast Greater Restoration on himself. Gabe's recent growth spurt has been causing him to need more and more frequent healings, and the Chantry in their home village of Hill Rock has been less and less obliging as of late (partially due to Robbies recent uh... condition. not that anyone would dare say it to his face of course).
Some extra fun doodles with expressions and thinking about how Desirat might look and interact with Robbie. I love when gods have a kind of twisted love for their special chosen people (plus some fun transformation horror cause its ✨me✨ were talking about what did you expect).
Also I really REALLY liked that top left sketch and got the rendering itch so I had some fun and painted it in.
Theres a whole fuckin. Second post to this au all lined up cause Moose when HAM on this. But its gonna take some more character designs so I'll need just a little time. but this will not be the last you see of this lol I promise <3
#ghost rider D&D au#robbie reyes#gabe reyes#eli morrow#I got distracted from the next bit by my amareyes WIP but. It's There.

Rules: Post a smooch between your OCs for Friday. It can be as light as a peck, or intense as a makeout. It can be romantic, platonic, or familial. As long as a smooch takes places, it's free reign!
Tagging: @the-void-writes @circa-specturgia @memento-morri-writes @perasperaadastrawriting @ink-fireplace-coffee @rose-bookblood and @pinespittinink
I was going to write something sweet for one of the ships, but then this happened instead. I don’t know what TWs to put on this but I feel like there should be some, so if you’re sensitive to unhealthy relationships be careful!
Giacomo was certain his body had run out of tears.
He’d secluded himself from the world for almost a week. Curled up under his thick blankets, sobbing like a child just because he’d gotten dumped.
No, actually. Dumped would be a charitable way of describing what Mar--what he had done.
Public humiliation might be more like it. Heartlessly using someone who loved him, maybe.
Giacomo couldn’t force himself to face the world just yet. He’d heard whispers of what they were saying about him in the North.
Idiot. Lovesick fool.
The first sorcerer to show loyalty. Too bad it wasn’t reciprocated.
Giacomo’s heart sped up when he heard the tell-tale sound of metal on wood that alerted him that someone was at the door. He couldn’t look at anyone yet.
Clearly having only knocked for show, Basilio opened the door and stepped inside.
Giacomo had been avoiding him, as well. Basilio would have every right to be furious at him, for the danger he’d put them in. His friend had tried to warn him, early on, and he had ignored him. Let himself be led by his emotions.
When would he learn to accept the help of people who love him?
“Hey,” Basilio came in and sat on the edge of the bed, giving Giacomo’s hand a comforting pat, “How are you feeling?”
“Like shit.”
“Figures. Since you don’t seem inclined to come outside any time soon, I decided I’d come to you.” “Don’t have to do that,” Giacomo sniffed.
“I know,” Basilio leaned up to offer him a hug, “Come here.”
Giacomo did.
A hug from his best friend was the most comfort he’d experienced in days. For the first time, he felt like maybe he would be okay again.
And then he went and ruined it.
Giacomo kissed him, and Basilio kissed him back.
Once Giacomo realized what he had done, he pulled away, face warm with embarrassment.
“Sorry. Don’t know why I did that.”
“You’ll notice I wasn’t complaining.” “Please,” Giacomo scoffed, “you don’t wanna do this. I’m a sobbing wreck pining for a man who never loved me.”
Basilio took his hand, and said: “Hey, what are friends for, if not helping you forget for a bit, huh?
Giacomo kissed him again.

In regards to possibly poached Magneton, poachers are the lowest form of humans and a real problem especially up north here. We actually have a specially trained team of Pokèmon to handle poachers. A few of them have been victims of poachers themselves.
Bruiser
He's our Tyranitar, he roams the mountains and chases out any unwanted folks. He has a few scars and is actually a chimera, we decided to keep him due to the fact that we were worried he would be poached again.
Scarlet
She's our electabuzz, she roams the woods and looks after the wild Pokèmon, she's actually pretty friendly as long as you aren't percieved as a threat then you better run. We actually aren't sure of her past, she came to us after some construction workers found her Pokèball in a concrete slab, they chiseled it out, breaking the ball in the process and she became a terror to the construction sight before the rangers managed to subdue her and send her to us. She theorized a trainer tried to get rid of her or something
Takara
She's actually a hisiuan tysplosion, she's the most recent addition to the team, she was being smuggled by someone claiming to be in the pearl clan. We ran a check, the guy was wanted in a few regions for Pokèmon smuggling. Takara's really chill and she's been surprisingly easy to train, we can send her back your way if you would rather that. She currently patrols the grounds around the facility and hangs out near the little cemetery we have for mons that pass away
Gar
He's our Vaporeon, he patrols the waters around the facility and is surprisingly able to adapt to fresh and salt water, from what we gathered he was wild and was poached from wherever he was living before, we can't seem to figure that out yet, our strongest suspicion is Galar at the moment because there were some reports of poachers in the wild areas.
Morris
Extremely aggressive Vileplume. All posion type move set and was originally a terror, he came to us with a warning. Cuteness is deceiving, we kept him separate from everyone for about a week until he escaped and incapacitated several staff members before I managed to catch him and wrestle a scalpel out of his hand, still no idea how he got into the medical area or got ahold of a scalpel. Thankfully everyone made a full recovery and we've put him through some serious training so now he recognizes threats. He guards the greenhouses where we keep a lot of the younger, older, and more aggressive grass types, he's actually quite taken with a victrobelle who is very high maintenance.
Chaser
Our eye in the sky, he was rescued from an illegal racing ring from the orre region. He's an absolutely beautiful togekiss and a bit of a show off. He likes to encourage any poachers to chase him and leads him to one of the other patrollers, usually Bruiser, he also does tricks for the guests. We didn't train him for it he just does it.
We also make sure to have at least one human in the area of the patrol team just in case of a serious emergency
-Rescue anon
That's quite the team you've got there!
Feel free to keep Takara, our goal was to integrate these Pokemon back into society at some point and it sounds like she's already bonded with you

Made of Iron, Born of Fire: The Fanmix
by @imgoingtocrash
Listen on Spotify and 8tracks
Read the series on Ao3
AKA: A labor of love for @savvysass’s birthday!!!!
What can I say that hasn’t already been said because we’re both incredibly sappy people in our Author’s Notes? Writing this series with you has brought me so much joy in the last two years, and I never could have hit over 100k words without you. Here’s to whatever we write next in the series...and all of the WIPs we’re working on right now...and only god knows what’s next for us personally and professionally...and most importantly, to you on your Birthday. Thank you for being such a good friend, in both fandom and outside of it. I’m so, so thankful to know you and love you. 🥰
Director’s Cut Below, because we all know I love talking about this series, and yes, that does extend to why I picked these songs. (And also maybe because these song choices only make sense in my brain and hopefully Savannah’s?? Who knows! Feel free to ask questions if you want but let’s be honest this series and fanmix are most importantly for us, because we love the series so dang much.)
My Wildest Dreams by Ron Pope
I spoke in riddles and in rhymes, but my time with you has taught me to simplify, you’re not quite what I pictured you would be, you’re better than my wildest dreams.
We’ve talked about this one before, and I’LL TALK ABOUT IT AGAIN!!!! Ron Pope is so good imo, and this song wowowow the father-child feels, but especially with Tony and newborn Peter a la A Foreign Feeling and A First Time For Everything.
Big & Scared by Raleigh Ritchie
I want to be better for you, let me do that now, you’re my favorite human, so you should be prepared, I’ll help you get through it, when you’re big and scared
We’ve mentioned Tony’s thoughts about legacy multiple times by now, and I think this song really represents Tony looking forward to the person Peter could be become and that “breaking the cycle” mentality of supporting Peter even when he’s not a perfect father.
Legacy of Sadness by Ron Pope
irrational as it may seem I guess I’m sorry, even though I know that none of it’s my fault, it is easier for me to count my blessings, than to cry for every single thing we’ve lost
I have 0 shame putting these two songs by Ron Pope almost back to back because they’re the opening and closing of an album dedicated to his child like...it’s so perfect for Tony and this theme of reflection on who he is and who Peter will become/is becoming and all that entails.
this is me trying by Taylor Swift
They told me all of my cages were mental, so I got wasted like all my potential, and my words shoot to kill when I'm mad, I have a lot of regrets about that
I wrote something...very sad but also soft recently??? and this is for That it’s about pre-CW Pepperony being separated and the road to them trying to come back together including Tony working on himself and I love it!!! It hurts really good!!! This whole song is perfect for it and I can’t wait until people get to read it.
Be Good When I’m Gone by Four Year Strong
I'm sorry I can't stop to listen, but I've got so much to do and I've got some place to be, the house looks like the aftermath of a hurricane, I hope it stays that way
Tony being a busy parent but doing his best to make time for Peter in his life and making that time count has been something super important to illustrate to us, especially the transition from being a CEO to being a superhero and how that changes how Peter sees Tony’s absence over time.
I Won’t Back Down by Johnnyswim, Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors, and Penny and Sparrow
Tony puts on the original version by Tom Petty in Home Is Where The Heart Is, but I think this cover has a very slow, emotional undertone that’s really great too. The interludes, if you didn’t catch it, have all been featured in a fic previously.
Let It Matter by Johnnyswim
So if it matters let it matter, if your heart's breaking let it ache, catch those pieces as they scatter, know your hurt is not in vain
Pepper in Never Tell Me The Odds ALL DAYYYYY. She’s the emotional rock of that fic (and of our Ironfam TBH) and it’s all because she allows herself to feel her feelings and encourages the Stark boys to do so as well.
Simmer - Acoustic by Hayley Williams
And if my child, needed protection, from a fucker like that man, I’d sooner gut him, cause nothing cuts like a mother
Post-Home Is Where The Heart Is...y’all know Pepper’s not that mad about what happened to Obie. Also just Pepper when someone hurts her family?? I always write it as her sort of putting all of her emotion into something she can control and doing it well, so, this song is all about that.
Tightrope by Nia Hendricks
one step after another, keep holding on to each other, don’t look back, move on and let go, that’s how you walk on a tightrope
Pepperony trying to navigate their relationship and the insanity of superhero stuff and also co-parenting. It’s all excellent, I love them so much, I enjoy writing it so much!!!!
Dancing With Your Ghost by Sasha Sloan
Never got the chance, to say a last goodbye, I gotta move on, but it hurts to try, how do I love, how do I love again?
This song is tilted towards romance, but if you’ll remember, we’re a Pro-Tony Survives Endgame AU series, so it’s not about THAT...but well...Infinity War sure will hit something fierce for certain non-romantic relationships in this series, huh?
The Bones by Maren Morris
Call it dumb luck, but baby, you and I, can't even mess it up, although we both try, no, it don't always go the way we planned it, but the wolves came and went and we're still standing
Post-Endgame Ironfam!!! Tony and Pepper married with their kids, their family and HAPPY...THIS IS WHY WE DO ALL OF THE ANGST...FOR A FAMILY...WE LOVE THEM
Carry on Wayward Son by Kansas
Considered Pepper and Peter’s ‘song’, as it’s referenced multiple times in the series, and was one of the bigger solidifying moments of their mother-son relationship as a whole.
Mundane by Hardcastle
And I’ve been sinking into silence, dwelling on my thoughts, and in these months, I haven’t felt that most conversations have left me anything but blue
Peter’s selective mutism was something very special to us when we originally had the idea, and making sure we talk about it and utilize it in the right way is something we’re still working on, particularly with the Therapy Fic we’re brainstorming atm.
survivin’ (One Eyed Jack’s Session) by Bastille
What can I say? I'm survivin', crawling out these sheets to see another day, what can I say? I'm survivin', and I'm gonna be fine, I'm gonna be fine, I think I'll be fine
Spoiler Alert: Peter’s not fine, like, a decent amount of the time. But he’s sure trying, and we love him for that.
Jacob from the Bible by Jake Wesley Rogers
Mama, don't worry, it took me years, to say I'm sorry, to see your tears, Mama, forgive me, I grew up too fast, but it's not on you, it's in the past
Mostly part of Peter growing up to become a hero and realizing what his parents--particularly Pepper--have gone through for him to become the person he is today, but that sometimes he still doesn’t feel like he’s making them proud enough.
Compassion Is a German Word by To Kill A King
Don't be so arrogant, you ain't no different to anyone I've met, we're all the heroes in our own film, or maybe the villain in someone else's
Spider-Man being an excellent superhero boi!!! Being kind and good!!! We love it!! Also, I put a TKAK song on...a LOT of my playlists, because I think they’re great.
brutal by Olivia Rodrigo
And I'm so sick of seventeen, where's my fucking teenage dream?, if someone tells me one more time, "Enjoy your youth", I'm gonna cry
I mean...this song is such a Teenage Mood...I had to do it...
In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning by Frank Sinatra
So, I had this cute little scene in my head that went with this song for SO LONG but there wasn’t really anything for it to fit into so...yeah that’s part 2 of Savannah’s Birthday Gift, a little soft Baby Peter drabble. Fluffy Goop from top to bottom. That can be read here.
Home by Phillip Phillips
Just know you're not alone, 'Cause I'm gonna make this place your home
...I know it’s not original, okay? It’s found family, it’s great, I don’t care!
Comes and Goes (In Waves) by Greg Laswell
And this part was for her, and this part was for her, this part was for her, does she remember?
This song is good family angst in general BUT these specific lyrics made me think of Mary and that they never forget her in their lives despite the other stuff going on (because we refuse to let them).
I Have Made Mistakes by The Oh Hellos
I have made mistakes, I continue to make them, the promises I've made, I continue to break them, and all the doubts I've faced, I continue to face them, but nothing is a waste if you learn from it
No one in the Ironfam is perfect, but they all do their best to try and grow even when they’re scared they’ll never be able to. The ups and downs are all par for the course of this series to us.
Easy Days - Demo by Bastille
Cause I don’t wanna fall back again, back into the easy days, everything was so simple then, little fires burned away
Strife is a part of life, and the family in this fic growing through their loss and struggles and moving ahead as a unit to get to a better place is super central to making the fic what it is...but it’s easy for them to remember the old days before being superheroes and wishing it was simple again.
North by Sleeping At Last
Let the years we’re here be kind, be kind, let our hearts like doors open wide, open wide, settle our bones like wood over time, over time, give us bread, give us salt, give us wine
The way Tony went from feeling so alone to having an entire built family that’s so full of love and everything he never dreamed of...*screams into my pillow* I love this series so much thank you and good night!!!
#made of iron born of fire#irondad#ironfam#fanmix#savvysass#this series just makes me burst with content i can't describe it#also doing the graphics was a fun experiment!!!#mine#mine: marvel

For Spotify wrapped writing ask: 9 & your oc Jan? <3
#9 on my Spotify Wrapped: My Church by Maren Morris Spotify / Youtube /Genius Lyrics
(The ask being referred to)
Country music and one of my least country OCs. This'll be fun!
Jan Kees had to admit, it'd been a long time since he'd driven this far out of the northeast. He was used to getting on trains, and only driving for the rare times that he headed Upstate nowadays, or for short distance emergencies. Anywhere else, he usually bought plane tickets and rented a car.
To be fair, he was in a rented car right now, but still.
He'd been in San Francisco, California for a meeting with Roberto when Martha had sent him the message. She'd wanted him to come see the heritage apple orchard, now growing into its prime. Since she'd gotten the grafts from him, and they were the two largest apple producers in the country, it made sense, and he'd accepted. But he had to get to Wenatchee, and that meant either flying into Seattle or Portland on short notice, and then obtaining another rental car.
In the long run, he found it just easier and cheaper to drive north.
The radio stations were few and far between as he got into southern Oregon. Jan flicked through them and their bad signals idly, and debated pulling over and just putting on one of his playlists.
And then, suddenly, one came in much crisper than the others.
It was, of course, country music. Jan nearly snapped the radio off completely. He'd never been much of a fan of the genre (other than Dolly Parton perhaps, and who could blame him for that? 9 to 5 was excellent.) And frankly, he didn’t understand much of the appeal.
But then he heard the lyrics.
I’ve cussed on a Sunday I’ve cheated and I’ve lied I’ve fallen down from grace A few too many times But I find holy redemption When I put this car in drive Roll the windows down and turn up the dial
Jan paused, a little surprised, but then he decided that maybe, this was tolerable until he reached the next exit.
And that first verse stuck with him.
It’d been a long time since he’d stepped into a church for a service. He knew that neither halves of Oregon or Washington were particularly religious, at least in a Christian way, themselves. Beverly was happily a pagan, Chris had some fusion of Christianity, indigenous beliefs, and local animism. Martha and Adam tended to avoid religion like the plague.
But he had a few impressions left of his youth. The meditative silence. The songs raised in worship. As he glanced around at the mountains around him on this stretch of the interstate, he reflected on the vastness of the land around him, something he sometimes forgot about. In the west, the distances were huge, the mountains and trees enveloping. If you got off the main roads and just drove, the emptiness was almost mind boggling to him.
He remembered going somewhere with Martha and Adam several years ago. Adam had been driving, and country music had been playing. But Martha had been singing along to the songs she liked as they drove on the backroads Adam and her preferred, in an almost spiritual act.
It was hard to remember sometimes those days in his youth, but he was struck then with the fact that he remembered running off sometimes, away from England and his church, to sit out in the woods. To be closer to nature and God in his own way.
He turned off the radio as the song ended. As the sounds of the road hummed around him, he took a moment to glance at the landscape around him. He set aside his annoyance at the length of the drive, and his tiredness as best he could. He pulled over at a spot on the shoulder, relaxed, and took in the world around him.
And for a moment, he felt closer to whatever God was than he had in a long time.
