DIY Spiced Mead Honey Cake

Cakes are an important part of a hobbit’s afternoon tea menu – this honey cake spiked with sweet mead and spices is fashioned after the famous honey cakes of the Beornings!

1.5 oz spiced or aged rum

0.5 oz orange curaçao

0.75 oz lemon juice

0.5 oz (or less) simple syrup

Moisten the rim of a Martini or coupe glass and press the glass into a mix of cinnamon and sugar to have some adhere to the rim.

Add all liquid ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice, shake hard for eight to 10 seconds.

Strain into the rimmed glass and garnish with an orange peel !

Happy Saturday it’s Tea Time!!!

I’m currently drinking a spiced blackberry tea, I added honey and deemed that to be a horrendous idea. The honey altered the taste and I’m not a fan but the spice is very soothing.

I’m currently in a beginner drawing class and currently learning charcoal and how to apply different lighting tones with different shades. It’s been really fun learning and watching myself get better. I still have much practice to do to keep perfecting it but it’s truly so much fun. Hope you all are having a wonderful Saturday and are taking the time this cancer season to focus on your emotions. So much is happening all at once that we forget to check in with ourselves.
