Neshama is the Hebrew word for Soul, and spirit. If you've read my work, then you know my Jewish roots make their way into my stories.

If you've been around for awhile, then you know I've been going through a transition, and I'm not talking about just my gender. Although, that does play into the new direction my stories are taking.

Its a new way of thinking. Reconnecting to my self, my soul, and the world around me. To the kindred spirits I've found in such wonderful communities, those who need stories like the ones I write.

While all my currently published works under the pen name Aelina Isaacs are queer, but my new pen name Noah Hawthorne is going to be exceptionally and ferally queer.

We're talking trans rage.

We're talking trans love.

We're talking trans Jews.

We're talking the most unhinged characters I've ever created, and I can't wait to share them with you.

So, the long and short of it is, this is my new logo. Both my pen names will fall under Neshama Publishing, and I'll finish out the Iverbourne and Levena series under my Isaacs name.

But from now on, please call me Noah. Most of you already knew this was coming, and I thank you for being there for me during this change.

To conclude their 12 week long tour, the Duke and Duchess of Cambury attended a banquet in their honor. At this very moment TRH are most probably packing their things to return home to Eloda, which gives us plenty of time to unpack Princess Georgina’s look from tonight. HRH went completely green, more specifically Sulani green as she perfectly matched the shade found on the Sulani flag. She accessorized with more green as she wore a matching emerald jewelry set. The glamorous look leaves many royal watchers excited to see what HRH will pull together for her brother’s anticipated Engagement Ball. 

As with many of their engagements on tour, TRH were accompanied by President Elijah of Sulani and his wife Neshama, who wore a deep shade of blue to compliment Princess Georgina. For anyone wondering where Prince Henry may be, you can rest assured knowing he was spotted on the grounds of the Carmichael’s Sulani estate earlier this week. HRH showed his cheeky side as he stole his nanny, Bridget’s sunhat.

I have more big news, and it involves something deeply personal to me. ✡️🏳️‍🌈📚🏳️‍⚧️

Pre-orders for The Rebel Foxes are open NOW. I have decided to donate half the profits from all my preorders across the board to Keshet, an organization that benefits queer jews, and queer jews of color.

I've been considering this for quite some time, and I find it rather fitting to do this with my first book featuring a trans main, and under my new pen name. If you've read any of my works, then you know that my Jewish roots influence my stories deeply.

Book Nine is officially out in the world, and it's the first one under my new pen name, Noah Hawthorne.

Nine Books. I released the first one in October of 21', and there's been a lot of trial and error, tears (readers and my own), and so much damn work. I wouldn't change it for anything, and I'm proud of what I've written, especially my newer work. I've improved immensely, and I've established a writing style and voice that I love. I'm still learning, but that's the beauty of it.

I think one of the biggest learning curves is marketing, honestly. There is so much I wish I knew in the beginning, and things I wish I did differently, but that's part of the journey I suppose.

But I must be doing something right, because the Misfit community is freaking amazing. My readers, author friends, librarians, artists, narrators, and booksellers. Without all of you, I wouldn't be where I am now.

To finish up, I have some news.

Adventures in Levena, continuing under the Aelina Isaacs name, is officially going to be a 10 book series, and each book is an interconnected standalone featuring different couples. This includes a Thatch prequel, and an Arlo prequel, both taking place when they were younger.

The Sirione Chronicles, my new interconnected series under the Noah Hawthorne name, currently has eight books planned. Unfortunately for some of you (Rebel Fox lovers), each book features a different set of characters and at different points of time, but each story is key to the series as a whole.

I never forgot the boy with amber eyes, but I wish he forgot about me.

Paw stuck in a trap.

Pull, push, struggle.

Friends yip and cry. Why aren’t they running?

The Hunters are coming. Heavy boots, guns and death.

I lock eyes with the golden puppy holding a small red fox by the scruff of her neck. I send out a call of distress, ordering my friends to save themselves. Leave.

The Hunters are coming. Metal spikes, hatred and nets.

I fight once more against the steel jaws, but my leg is broken. A tall Hunter approaches me at last. I steal another look at my friends, but they’re gone. When I turn my attention back to the Hunter, I am met with amber eyes brighter than the fluorescent neon signs lighting this apocalyptic hell.

The Hunter is disproportionate. A small, soft face is hidden behind the respirator hissing in the space between us. Black hair falls forward when he reaches for me, and I snap.

He giggles, unafraid. “It’s ok, I won’t hurt you.” Dirty fingers move to the mechanism in the trap. I bare my teeth, wary of his kindness. He sounds like a child. Someone like me.

“I’ve never seen a fox like you before, you look special,” He says softly, otherwise focused on his delicate work. Shouts fold my ears, and he hurries. I keep my unfocused attention on him, listening to his ragged breathing through the mask filtering out smog.

It takes me a second to realize I’m free.

“There, go on,” He says with a satisfied smile, still squatting beside the trap, and me. I slowly stand, holding my lame leg close to my side. He shoos me off fervently as footsteps approach.

The Hunters are coming.

I take a few tenuous steps to the kind Hunter and lick my blood from his fingers. His trembling hand turns over, and oh how his eyes brighten when I press my dry nose to the place where hard lines intersect in the center of his palm.

Evil, harsh voices bellow from behind him, starkly contrasting the only human who has ever shown me kindness. “It’s ok, go on,” He says with wet eyes. I take a nervous step back and stare into his eyes, then run away.

I don’t look back.

Did you hear the good news about Spotify?

Findaway voices eliminated their distribution fee to Spotify, making it so indie authors pocket more money.

I'm pretty new to Findaway, one of my goals with Phantom and Rook was NOT to be exclusive to Amazon and ACX. There are now audio copies (along with print and ebook) in public libraries, which makes me beyond happy.

As far as sales go, I've found it's highly worth it, for me, to not be exclusive to ACX. libro fm is where I've found a good number, and Spotify too. As a reader, I'm fairly new to Spotify but i really enjoy the interface. Looking forward to the day when there's lots of other indies in there.

Cambury Family Visit Sulani Zoo

It’s the 29th day of the Cambury Family’s Royal Tour of Sulani and they’ve made a visit to the Sulani Zoo. They were accompanied by the President of Sulani, Elijah Joseph, his wife, Neshama, and their daughter, Samira. The two families posed together on the observation deck where visitors are promised one of the best views of Sulani.

The island’s hot climate allows the Sulani Zoo to offer many animals that are unavailable in Eloda. The Duke was overheard saying how much “Henry adores animals” as the toddler showed off his newest skill of sucking his thumb. Although this is the 22nd appearance of the tour, it is Prince Henry’s very first public engagement!
